she's  so  hungry  she  can't  feel  it  anymore  . 

but  it's  the  one  thing  she  can  control  ,  so  she  sinks  her  claws  into  it  and  refuses  to  let  it  go  . 

she's  lost  weight  while  she  was  gone  -  obviously  ,  being  in  the  field  meant  less  structure  and  less  time  to  rest  and  recover  -  but  she  hadn't  put  any  back  on  when  she  returned  .  she  knows  she's  at  risk  of  a  serious  conversation  with  hades  ,  nyx  ,  and  maybe  even  charon  ,  about  workplace  performance  and  needing  to  get  back  to  training  . 

her  doctors  are  bound  to  have  an  opinion  when  she  states  her  prosthetic  cap  doesn't  fit  as  well  anymore  since  she's  lost  about  20  pounds  . 

but  she  feels  in  control  ,  she  feels  like  she  can  focus  .  and  more  to  the  point  ,  like  she  can  get  away  from  any  altercation  that  may  have  her  pinned  .  she  won't  be  tortured  to  death  if  she's  halfway  there  already  .  an  easier  way  out  . 

what  she  hadn't  counted  on  was  ares  returning  from  his  own  assignment  and  not  following  his  usual  routine  of  text  check-ins  with  her  while  he  saw  his  wife  and  kids  ,  and  then  checking  in  with  her  in-person  the  following  week  .  that  would  have  given  her  enough  time  to  mess  around  with  the  dishes  ,  make  it  look  like  she  was  eating  .

she  got  no  texts  ,  no  warning  ,  just  keys  at  her  apartment  door  .  she  looks  up  ,  but  doesn't  stand  up  (  not  too  fast  ,  she'll  get  dizzy  )  .  and  she  waits  ,  already  knowing  this  isn't  going  to  go  over  well  .

guys I had this realization the other day that Redwall works really well for reading aloud, and kinda half-remembered something about the author reading to kids? So I looked it up to see if I had made a connection.

And it turns out, yes, actually, because he read aloud to kids at a school for the blind. But all the books they gave him to read were depressing. So he wrote Redwall, a story about heroism and courage and making it through struggles, and filled it with so many sensory, visual details so he could give them something better and I just-- that's so wholesome-- help

Was in the middle of drawing hugs (which will be posted eventually) when I got hit by an idea that had Stan ending up in the hospital and Ford being an absolute emotional wreck (as expected). No backstory on what happened with Stan but drew up ideas while they’re in the hospital. They’re both ok after everything (cuz duh, this is me we’re talking about lol)

"why should I get invested in shows if they'll just get canceled" I was deeply invested in Heroes (2006) and it was not canceled, it just got really terrible. I also got really invested in the sandwich I had a few weeks ago despite it only lasting like 15 minutes. You must embrace the ephemeral. You must be willing to love things that may not love you back, that might betray you, or that may die an untimely death. As the great philosopher Mr. Mitchell Lee Hedberg said "I'm not gonna stop doing something because of what happens at the end."
