it's actually interesting to me. i don't think - despite what he says - that singed is actually all that obsessed with beating death for anyone besides orianna. like given all the evidence we have available, he tries to immortalize or resurrect his test subjects but not because he especially cares about them. he just wants to do it as a kind of means-testing to resurrecting orianna. even viktor kind of sees this in his preternatural visions when singed is arguing with him about using warwick's blood - singed says "to save us from ourselves" but viktor's telepathy vision (or whatever it is lol) just shows singed touching orianna's sarcophagus.

hell, he doesnt even try to make HIMSELF immortal, it's literally all just about orianna. which i personally think is much more fucked up and sad. it doesn't matter if she comes back unhappy or has a sad life or even if the whole rest of the world stays completely mortal and one day his immortal daughter ends up all alone because he and everyone else in the world is moribund. at least as far as we're shown, it's just his project to resurrect and "save" her from death, irrespective of the cost to everyone else and the cost to orianna herself. fucking. heartless stuff 🤍

absolutely obsessed that singed of all characters took the fattest W in the end like here's dr. plotdevice mcwarcrimes chilling in the background actively making things worse for everyone through the whole show but was so committed to minding his own business he walked out completely unscathed with his daughter newly restored. king shit honestly

At the start of episode six of The Penguin, we see the aftermath of what appears to have been some rough sex between Sofia and Dr. Julian Rush (Theo Rossi). A lot of their dynamic is fairly vague, but how is Sofia thinking about her sexuality at this moment?

Their dynamic is very fascinating to me, Sophia and Dr. Rush. It’s pretty ambiguous, and, obviously, this is a clearer window into it. But for someone who hasn’t been tenderly touched in a decade, especially since it’s so loaded with him, there’s such strange power dynamic shifting between the two of them. He’s probably the only person she would feel safe with. But even for her to feel safe, he has to be completely tied up and she has to be in complete control. He spent so many years restraining her, then she gets out and she’s now restraining him. There’s something about the subverting...not that he’s her side piece [laughs], but even the way she dismisses him and is like, “I’ve gotten what I’ve needed.” She’s still so compartmentalized, because how could she not be? It’s a wonder that she’s even able to experience that at all. She is someone who has missed pleasure so much. She’s missed all the luxury of what she’s experiencing now, not just the luxury of power, but the clothes, food, sex. It’s like someone coming alive again, but it does have to be on her terms.

It just occurred to me that we've not had an in depth portrayal of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour since the Tudors. Or just, Jane Seymour in general. So I am really curious to see how Mirror and the Light/Wolf Hall is going to handle them.

We get to know about her family, we'll learn about Elizabeth Seymour as well, and how important she is.
