Hello, everyone! A couple of days ago I asked if ya'll wanted to see my fancast for the older Stranger Things kids & teens and I got a majority yes vote, so here you go.

Please note that this is simply a fancast, if you don't agree with it or have different suggestion, you can do that kindly (I know I'm being preemtively defensive, but I've seen people get attacked over fancasts before). Also note that the AU for my fanfiction takes place in the 2010s, putting the kids in their late 30s and the teens in their early 40s-ish. Also, also note, I had an extremely tough time picking older castings for Mike, Will, and Jonathan and I tried my best to meet in the middle.

You can only see colour when your soulmate is with you and you’re touching. This gives a whole new meaning to them bringing colour to your world.

Who knew that out of all places, a prison would be where your world of grey would suddenly burst into bouts of colour?

As an engineer, you were stuck fixing & maintaining things more often than actually creating them. Your colleagues sometimes pitied you, as your already monotonous world made your job even harder. Those lucky enough to have found their soulmate are not only favoured by cupid’s bow, but also by whoever delegated your working tasks.

You wouldn’t lie — it pissed you off. Yet at the same time, you were aware that it was much safer dispatching someone who could identify a cable’s colour before installing them. However, that still did little to soothe your frustrations.

It’s also what had lead to you being stuck with more tedious tasks — maintenance and routine inspections. Despite all this, you still loved your job — and you’d be damned if your peers’ mocking pity would bring you down.

Ironically, it was due to them that you’d get what you were looking for all this time.

To beckon the call of help from the Fortress of Meropide was definitely not your field of expertise, yet you were still the one who answered. Due to the aforementioned reasons, it was also your first time setting foot on the premise. The prison’s damp walls added a chill to the already eerie atmosphere, and you now regret not taking your coat with you. The gardes were kind enough to escort you to the administrator’s office, saving you the pain of navigating this labyrinth on your own.

You flinch at the sound as the garde opens the door, holding it open for you to enter. Only now do you realise how tense you’ve been so far — the temperature undoubtedly having played its hand in it. Archons, you couldn’t wait to get out of this place.

With a thankful nod towards your escort, you step inside the room, Wriothesley already expecting you. Before you could fully enter, the man was already on his feet to receive you. Well prepared — as expected of him.

You have heard many things about the Duke, rumours both good & bad — but you’ve never had the chance to confirm them yourself. But now that you stand before him, you think you understand why everyone respected him greatly — no matter their personal opinion of him. At a glance, you could tell that an air of authority accompanied his every step, and you feel yourself subconsciously shrinking before the man.

Should he notice, he doesn’t say a word though. Quite the opposite, in fact, as he seems quite relieved when you finally arrive.

“You’re the engineer we requested, I assume?”

He speaks matter-of-factly, yet he also sounds… quite friendly? You didn’t know what to expect of the man, but you were sure it was closer to ice cold apathy, rather than the soft-spoken silk you experience now.

The first words this man had ever spoken to you, and you were already at a loss for words. Both because you didn’t know how to explain the situation, and also due to Wriothesley himself. While the first impression he made was better than expected, you were sure you’d somehow manage to piss him off in the next second. But then again, was it really your fault?

You clear your throat, fumbling over the words, before you settle on something to say. “Well, uh- yes I am.”

It’s evident how the Duke senses your hesitation and raises and eyebrow in question. Where he once looked at you in relief, his expression now falters and his eyes scrutinize you with suspicion.

Oh, you’re fucked.

Heat floods your body in embarrassment, your mind now drawing an even bigger blank as you desperately try to backtrack. “With that I mean— I am an engineer, but I doubt the work here will be within my expertise,” you sheepishly explain as the words escape your mouth in a single breath. What an absolute wonderful way to start off this interaction. “I am terribly sorry.”

You have half the mind to bow in apology, for an inconvenience that wasn’t even your fault. Doing your colleague’s dirty work was one thing, but your company being under staffed was a whole other issue.

But Wriothesley only shakes his head. Though you could swear you saw his face drop in annoyance for a split second, you felt like there was no need to worry when he next spoke. “It’s alright. I’m just glad there’ll be someone to look at it. This stuff has been giving me trouble all week already.” his hand moves up as he sweeps it over his forehead in exasperation, fingers combing through his thick dark hair. And for the Archon’s sake, you wanted to do nothing more to curse out loud when he did that. Even more so when you catch yourself examining his features more closely now, with your eyes lingering on his for a moment longer than they should. You wonder what colour his hair may be — dark, for sure — but there was only so much you could determine with a world full of grey.

You’re here to work, not to admire pretty men.

Pretty.

It took you more self-restraint than you’d like to admit to not slap yourself.

“Anyway, I don’t think we’ve been properly introduced yet,” the man continues, thus effectively pulling you out of your self-loathing session. His hand reaches out toward you, an invitation for you to reciprocate in kind. “Wriothesley.”

Surely, you wouldn’t be able to mess up a simple handshake, right?

You waste no time to clasp your hand in his & tell him your name, your dainty digits being engulfed by the rough and calloused skin of his own. And in that moment, you felt as if time had completely stopped.

It wasn’t due to the feeling of his skin coming in contact with yours. As much as one could sing songs about how the touch of your soulmate could invigorate & keep you warm for a thousand winters to come — it wasn’t the case for you. The catalyst for sure, but the event that followed was worth your song.

The moment your hand touched Wriothesley’s, you didn’t even feel it. The only thing you felt was the feeling when your world suddenly filled with colour. All it took was the blink of an eye, and you were in a whole different world. You stare at the man before you, your mouth hanging wide open while you were freeze in shock. There was so much new information to process, but your eyes & mind could only focus on him. You can’t exactly pinpoint all the new colours you see, but the first thing you notice is his eyes.

You weren’t the only one at a loss for words, and even if you tried — you could not pry your gaze away from holding his. His eyes don’t look much different than they did before, actually. They’re naturally blessed with a light colour, but now you notice all the different shades and hues within them. Does he know what colour his own eyes are? Do you know yours? For all you know, anyone you asked could have been lying to you so far.

You also notice how his pale face now gains the slightest bit of colour, and you wonder if he sees the same with you.

Honestly? If time would allow it, you’d stay like this forever. But of course, it’s the man you’re supposed to spend eternity with that would deny your wish.

“Let’s get started then, shall we?”

And he acts as if nothing happened.

You, on the other hand, are still in the process of digesting this experience. Before you knew it, his grip on your hand loosened, until it completely fades away and your vision is plunged back into an array of black & white.

“Wait, I—” The words slip out of your mouth before you could stop yourself, your body almost acting on it’s own accord to wrap your hand around his wrist again. Now that you’ve gotten a taste of this — of him — you desperately want your world to burn up once again, like a new hunger that begs to be satiated. Did he not feel the same? Did you just imagine it?

It seems like Wriothesley took notice of your crestfallen expression. He doesn’t back away, yet he doesn’t come closer either. Instead, he speaks — in a tone so beautiful & soft, you can scarcely believe it’s real.

“I think we’ve got more than enough time to talk later.”

Have you ever searched up facts about the animals sonic characters are based on? If so, what was your favorite fact that you added to your headcannon

*rubs hands together* ALRIGHT HERE WE GO (I'm sticking with the hedgehog gang for this one because I kid you not this will go on forever xD)

I'm pretty sure this is a obvious one, and most can agree one of the cutest. HEDGEHOGS. CAN. PURR. And I love it sm. They are really social creatures so they need buddies, and lots of too, to explore of course! :D They also have poor eyesight, which can make it a bit tricky sometimes to navigate, but their keen sense of smell covers that for them. They can even swim very well, unlike ONE hedgehog. lmao.

I like to think the reason Amy confused Sonic for a lot of people, lmao. Is because she had poor eyesight, I imagine when she was younger, even before she met her friends, she had a bit of trouble seeing where she was going.. so she relied on her other senses. Sonic and the gang definitely got her some contacts lol. (Sonic has bad eyesight too, he gets it.)

Silver doesn't understand why he likes forging around for things, even in his future, he just loves to collect things. When he goes to the past I think is inner adventurer just explodes when he sees nature for the first time. He adores it. He picks up ANYTHING wrappers, sticks, plastic bags, flowers, you name it, he probably has it somewhere. Lmao I like to imagine whenever Blaze comes over to his garden he just decorates it with the most random shit and she's like. TF??? (they are sibling coded to me btw <3)

Sonic is the package deal, he's been doing hedgehog things since he was a kid. Running around at the speed of sound, exploring new places, ect. But, the one thing he grew up with was loneliness for some time. My BIGGEST headcanon for him, was that he washed up on Christmas Island, he was raised by Chao basically, and played a lot with human junk that washed up on the island. Since he was in the ocean for what seemed like FOREVER to the poor baby. He's TERRIFIED to even go near it. So he makes his home in an abandoned cargo plane. (similar to OVA) He can't stand running around the small island anymore so he finds a broken down Bi-plane. (future tornado ik im a genius lmao) follows some old ass instructions that he cant rlly read cuz hes like 5. And he takes off and crashes the plane near the closest continent shjshs. HES FREEEEE. well, until he runs into a lil fox and adopts him.

As for Shadow? Well.. he hears about all these "hedgehog" things, from Sonic or maybe from other hedgehogs he runs into or overhears. But, he just doesn't understand it. It doesn't click. And its not like he really cares that much but, it bothers him. So he does the unthinkable and asks Sonic directly. Who in turn laughs and tells him that, sure, he may be half alien or like lizard for whatever... but he's still a hedgehog. An even COOLER hedgehog! He doesn't have to do those silly hedgehog things to prove that. He explains its just kinda second nature anyway.

(Also, this is more of a shippy headcanon lmao. But Sonic and Shadow definitely, unknowingly, court eachother hedgehog style. Which includes lots of chasing, circling, and headbutting. LIKE COME ON ITS SO OBVIOUS--)

steve harrington. king steve to be exact.

it was never really said why "king steve" became king steve. but its more than likely that it was a mix of his general attractiveness and charm. that and being generally kind, always the one to stop his friends from going too far, but never the one to stop them completely. and that haunts him. not to mention that he got allll the ladies. but they never lasted, because steve craved something real, something valuable. he needed to be loved. but he was nothing more than a hookup for most of the women he saw at the time. a truly hopeless romantic.

but then there was steve.

an embodiment of sunshine. kind, above all. selfless, extremely selfless. accepting, caring, and nurturing. making sure that the kids never experience the loneliness that he had endured for his entire adolescence. always ready to be a martyr. always dancing on that line between life and death whenever applicable. never genuinely believing that he was meant to be loved, more so just meant to be admired and used.

until he met you. it wasn't that you "gave him something to live for", but more that you made him realize how much he has to live for. it's like his life was in black and white, and when he met you it erupted into beautiful colors.

and while most people admired how secure and loving your relationship with each other was, some were jealous, prying.

for the most part, it flies past you both, too immersed in each other to care.

but one friday afternoon, as you were heading outside to where steve was waiting for you outside of his car; to drive you both to the diner where you're meeting robin and dustin; your one-time lab partner from biology class blocked your path.

you bit back a scowl, having already endured his strangely aggressive flirting enough for today.

"so you're coming to the party tonight right?" it sounded more like a demand than a suggestion.

"no", your composure faltered, "I already told you that I'm staying with my boyfriend tonight."

you pushed past him, having nothing more to discuss with him. the warm air hitting your cheeks, and the thought of the evening you're going to spend at the diner diluting your annoyance.

that is until you hear him behind you again.

"what? does 'king steve' own you now?"

steve can see you from the car, and jumps into action the second he sees the absolutely appalled look on your face before you swiftly turn around.

he doesn't make it in time though. you had already reached him and delivered a swift slap across his face. not only had he insulted your boyfriend, but he had also insinuated that you were an object to be owned by a man. this and the blatant disregard for your rejections of him sent you over the edge.

you muttered some profane insult toward him before steve's voice reached you.

the signature "woah, woah, hey, hey" -that steve uses every time there's an inconvenience.

the biology perpetrator had already speed-walked away as casually as he could. steves arm wrapped around your waist as he guided you back to the car and strapped you in, an astonished expression on his face. you had never done anything like this before, in fact, you're usually shy.

“what was that about baby?” he asked softly, closing the drivers side door behind him and grabbing one of your hands and stroking his thumb across your cheek.

“he’s so annoying! he keeps saying weird shit to me and he wont leave me alone. and he knows im dating you because i told him. and then he said some shit about his stupid party that i already told him i didnt want to go to. so i told him again that im going to be with my boyfriend. and then,” you inhale, trying to catch your breath, “he ran up behind me and asked me if “king steve” owned me.” you finished. putting his former title in quotation marks.

by the time you looked back up, his face was red. it was a look you knew all too well, that meant he was about to do something dumb. right now you assumed it involved tracking down your former lab partner.

youd be right.

his hand shoots to the door handle, but is quickly moved back by your own.

“no steve, i already dealt with him. i can handle myself. i just want to be with you right now, okay?” your voice is gentle, knowing he’s on edge.

“i know you can handle yourself, you shouldn’t have to.” he says through gritted teeth. you can tell he’s trying to keep himself together, but his knuckles are turning white, he’s shaking, and looking away from you. which he never does, unless he’s about to cry.

the parking lot is empty by now. you grab steve’s hand and pull yourself closer to him.

“whats wrong stevie? talk to me, love.” you bring his hand to your lips, pressing a soft kiss to the skin there.

“i don’t like that he was talking to you like that,” his voice trembles, “and i don’t like that it was because of me. you shouldn’t have to deal with that stuff.”

logically, it made no sense. but he was blaming himself anyways. thinking maybe his high school reputation made people believe that your relationship could be tainted easily. that he could never actually make someone happy.

"steve," you climb over to sit in his lap, "that's not true, you know that. it's not your fault at all, it's nobody's fault except for that weird guy." steve's face returned to its original sunshine state. "and we both know you don't own me. if you owned me I wouldn't be allowed to drive a car." you giggled, referring to the time you casually told him that you ran over a curb on the way home. he laughed with you, resting his head on yours and holding you.

"i know, it just makes me mad that people say that shit to you."

you look up at him. "well, i guess you're just going to have to take me to your house to keep me safe, harrington."

"i think you might be right, lovey."

It had been some months since you had sealed your consortship with Morgott. There had been a small and brief wedding. This had been due to your, now husband's, fear of betrothing you in his hideous form. You'd had to beg him just for the small wedding not to use mimic veil. Now, here you both were. Morgott had promised you a grand afternoon in the markets, he had even told you that you had no spending limit. It was a rare planned date from your husband and it caused you to bubble with excitement. Well... this was until you saw the man that offered his hand to you with a slow and regal bow...

He was using mimic veil...

"Beloved- do you truly need to hide your features for a simple outing this afterno-" Morgott cut you off, standing tall and it was clear he was not going to allow protest this time. Perhaps... if it made him more comfortable... you were alright with it.

"I will hear no words of protest fall from thy lips. Come, let us enjoy this day fore we must return" You offered a careful look but took your husband's hand in yours, sighing as your shoulders, and his, relaxed. You hadn't noticed you'd been so tense. Without another moment to think, Morgott led you onward, guiding you toward the market.

You watched as his silvery curls, tied into a messy bun, bobbed and lightly blew around with his movements. He was still tall like this but not nearly as tall as you knew him to truly be. He had muscle in this form as well but it could not compare to the large fur and hair strewn biceps that you so dearly loved... if only he saw himself the way that you did.

As hours passed by and you ventured the market with your husband, you found that you quite missed the subtle swish of his tail behind him when you spoke to him. Now, as you stood in your shared favorite bookstore, you watched as Morgott became engrossed in the wide variety of poetry adorning the back shelves. A sly grin pulled at your lips as a devious thought came to mind and you slowly and quietly approached while his hands held the spine of a particular book, his eyes locked on a page...

The purr you drew from him was jarring and loud. He had not expected your gentle fingers to come trailing up his back as you looked over his arm to see what he read. For a moment he was locked in place, utterly embarrassed at the sound you had drawn out of him, in his veiled guise no less...

"Love of mine-" He hadn't meant to but his voice came out low and raspy and above all else... flustered...

"You make such pretty noises, love... if only you would pair your gorgeous face with them..." You hummed thoughtfully as you twirled a strand of his hair between your finger tips.

Morgott's breath caught in his throat at her bold proclamation, in public no less. He wasn't sure if he should feel mortified or scoop her up and rush home with her. His one eye blinked at her simply in shock as she smiled to him innocently, her hand coming up to brush over the bandage always wrapped over his unseeing eye in this form.

"Thou art truly seeking to kill me... I can not stand such claims..." You felt a sly grin pull at your lips once more as you placed a hand over his veiled form's chest. You lingered for a moment before finally speaking once more. It was off topic, but you could hardly keep the words from escaping. "I would love you, veil or no veil..."

i love levi and azi so much!! although i've posted a lot abt kamen and hollow, levi and azi are probably the characters i genuinely care abt/like the most in the series. i love their dynamic so much :-)

in terms of headcanons, i always use she/they pronouns for levi, it's just what felt right to me! and it's canon that azi sapphic for sure, but i headcanon her as a lesbian specifically (she/her pronouns).

i think what i really enjoy about azi and levi is how their friendship subverts a lot of typical science fiction tropes. usually when a robot character starts acting strange or doing things that the main character disapproves of, it's a sign that they're going to turn "evil" or have a conflict with the main character. instead, levi being changed by the planet is portrayed as a neutral/good thing, and it's azi who has to adjust her perspective and learn to appreciate how levi is changing. i rlly like to watch azi's perspective shift from viewing levi as a simple robot having a malfunction, to viewing her as a new kind of being and taking joy out of seeing her grow.

i think that robots often get portrayed as the opposite of nature in a lot of sci-fi, so it's also interesting how levi is able to become one with the planet moreso than any of the other characters. it's like her being a robot oddly makes it so she can bond with the planet more. i think it's partly bc the human characters, as humans, are very attached to their own identities, lives etc, and view any incorporation of the planet into them as an invasion or infection. whereas levi welcomes parts of the planet growing on and inside her and changing her into something new. so perhaps it's less to do with her being a robot, and more to do with her lack of resistance to the planet...

anyways yeah, i love azi and levi. i'm rlly hoping to see more of them as a duo if we ever get a season 2, but if we don't i will just imagine it in my brain so hard lol

okay, so i've been doing some thinking. i've been scrolling through your blog and i stepped upon these "cheating on cove with Baxter and the other way around" scenarios. (i'm sorry, i wasn't able to read them, my heart couldn't take it ;-;) but!

what if mc was like, in a normal relationship with Baxter. you know, a couple, maybe married later and stuff, while of course still being besties with Cove. later mc and Baxter have a kid together, maybe still a small baby but! plot twist! Baxter gets into an accident or something and dies. (i'm sorry, he's my favourite man but i had to kill him for that scenario:'))

mc is completely devastated and also a little panicked, because what about the baby? and then Cove stepps in, deciding to help his best friend take care of the little one and basically becomes its father. i recently watched a video of a dog "helping" a cat take care of her kittens, and there you have it.

this one may be boring, so feel free to ignore, but i can't stop thinking about it.

Fen is based on one of my favorite childhood toys I got at a carnival, it was a fox plushy with a looooong tail for some reason lol. I would bring it to school with me for "story time" and wrap myself in its tail shjshsj.

Her tail is limp, so it just kinda drags behind her when she walks lmao. Uno is actually one of my irl hens, I wanted Fen to look like a farmer, (Since I live on a farm irl) so the idea of her carrying around a NPC Hen was born.

I wear glasses irl, I tend to misplace them when Im switching glasses to contacts some days, so my mom always jokes that I "lost my eyes". So when Fen "loses her eyes" SHE RLLY DOES...

Fens bag is like a mini pocket dimension, she keeps almost everything and anything in there. (like Mary Poppins lmao)

Fens zipper is on her stomach underneath her overalls, first thing she tried to do when she was inspecting her new body was to unzip it, she practically deflated hsjhsjs, (everyone helped her gather her stuffing lol) she's careful NOT to do that again.

Uno was a "joke" gift from Caine, who within noticing she looked like a farmer?? Gave her a chicken, and she kept it. She actually really likes the hen, so Caine named her FEN for Fox + Hen. (very creative I knoeeee) Uno is named Uno for obvious reasons, being the only chicken in the circus.

She cant open her mouth, all she has is a straw of wheat sticking out, its unremovable and moves when she speaks, she just got used to it after a while. The tag on her ear is just an empty price tag, why? Idk lol.

Shes basically chill with everyone tbh, Fen doesnt like to bother anyone so she sometimes hangs outside the tent. She was very distant when she first arrived, but warmed up to everyone eventually and is actually very sociable with the people shes comfortable with. (just like me lmaooo/oh wait she is me xd)

She loves arts and crafts, she has millions of sketch books/scrap books in her messy room. Which she claims is an "organized mess."

She has a mild purely platonic crush on Ragatha lmao. She admires her optimism and responsible nature, and her hugs are the BEST.

Jax makes her laugh and she enjoys his company, as long as he doesnt REALLY hurt anyone with his "humor", while she's watching anyways. Fen gets really worried about other peoples wellbeing and will go out of her way to help them feel better (whether caused by Jax or not lmao), she ends up just ignoring Jax afterwards for a few days, confusing him big time lmao.

Fen thinks Kinger is silly, and helps him build his pillow forts. She likes Gangle and loves to share her interests with them both, she could talk with them for hours.

She likes to hang out and chat with Zooble as well. Fen thinks their design is neat and will sit and draw next to them in comfortable silence.

As for Pomni, well... shes still trying to win her over. But she likes her outfit and will offer if Pomni wants to sit next to her and relax on her tail, they dont have to have a conversation if Pomni just wants to sit and think hsjshsj. Uno doesnt really like anyone but Ragatha tbh.

As for how Fen even got trapped in the digital circus, well... Im still not sure how the VR headsets work or how they are going to work within the digital circus universe or lore, who made them, why, ect.

Buuuut for the sake of it, lol. I'm not even joking when I say me and my fam just bought my brother a new VR headset a few weeks ago, and I put it on to "act like I was playing a game" to surprise him when he walked into his room. So...

Helianthus♡Light!

Helianthus is the genus which includes sunflowers. Fumi and Seina suggested this part of the name, since Fumi loves flowers and the flower language/symbolism behind them, and Seina knows the more,, biological/scientific stuffs. The "Light" part is both because it also has to do with sunflowers, and Toshiro suggested that they're "reaching for light", because they chose the name at the end of their main story and they were feeling very hopeful,, it's not like they're not hopeful now, idk why I phrased it like that ANYWAYS.

I'm kind of not sure what type of music they play (mainly because I don't know ANYTHING about music genres lol), but it's definitely something warm, nostalgic, maybe a bit echo-y, somewhat soft, and their cover arts definitely include a lot of nature stuff,,,,, I haven't designed their virtual singers yet, but they're probably gonna be Rin and Luka (and Miku obv)

Toshiro Hasegawa (they/he)

178 cm tall, unit leader, probably main vocalist?, class 2-B (post-3rd anni), class 1-C (pre-3rd anni). Pretty energetic and outgoing, straight-A student, very afraid of failure and tends to try to earn love and affection through exceeding at everything because family problems, yay. Has an older brother (Hiroto Hasegawa, he/him), who is a part of ANOTHER unit,, The two are pretty distant. The whole family actually is, woops. Toshiro is also VERY into crystals and spirituality. It gives a sense of certainty. Also has an orange cat named Surfer. They're a big MMJ fan, specifically Airi fan. Friends with Ichika and An. Always braids/does everyone's hair.

Matsu Kimura (he/him)

162 cm, probably also vocals, but mainly deals with the uhm technical musical stuff that I know nothing about?? class 3-C (post-3rd anni), class 2-B (pre-3rd anni). Very bubbly, energetic, affectionate, super-uber-extra autism (sea-flavoured), very average grades because he only really does what he's interested in, but he does it rlly good. Used to get bullied in middle school, struggles with people's expectations and trying to fit in. Very-very silly. Only child. Keeps pet fish. Friends with Emu. Very tactile, loves tackling people.

Fumi Hatanaka (she/they)

169 cm, loves musical instruments and plays guitar, class 2-A (post-3rd anni), class 1-B (pre-3rd anni). A surprisingly bad student, doesn't care about school. She's pretty reserved and a bit grumpy most of the time but tends to easily get angry and even a little aggressive. Cares a lot about her friends, even though she doesn't really know how to show it. Also doesn't want to show "weakness". Blames herself for being too soft in middle school and not being able to help Matsu. Her family owns and runs a small flower shop. Friends with Shiho, dislikes Tsukasa and Rui (thinks they're too obnoxious and chaotic lmao). Also an only child. Doesn't have pets, but feeds strays that often hang out around the shop. Friends with Shiho and pretty much all of leo/need, as well as Toya. Can be pretty distant physically, but likes subtle physical gestures of affection.

Seina Amari (she/her)

175 cm, writes lyrics for their songs, loves writing in general, the only one in the group who goes to Miya girls', class 3-B (post-3rd anni), class 2-B (pre-3rd anni). Does VERY good at school, super responsible, helps everyone, though isn't actually all that interested in most subjects except literature. She's very calm and caring, always tries to help everyone, has a very gentle energy about her. This mostly comes from the fact that she had hurt a dear friend in the past, which was actually genuinly her fault, but also some shit happened, and she ended up dealing with this by being overly-caring and not letting her loved ones see when she's struggling. Doesn't mean she doesn't ACTUALLY care though. She very much does. Has a younger sibling (Taru Amari, they/them), who's also part of the same unit Hiroto is! Also has a pet bunny named Puddle, who's very similar to her, which I think is funny,, not exactly friends with Mafuyu, but just a little bit closer than regular acquaintances. Close friends with Shizuku and pretty much the rest of MMJ too (Toshiro nearly fainted when they found out). Has a part-time job at a local coffee shop, where she met and became friends with Ena. Often shows affection/compassion by something like placing a hand on someone's shoulder.

🦈🍊 Matsu and Fumi are childhood friends and went to the same middle school. It was very awkward and tense at first when they met again in high-school, because back then Fumi felt extremely guilty and ended up distancing herself, eventually kind of abandoning Matsu when he needed support most.

🍑🍊 (fucking fruits /j) Toshiro's brother visits Fumi's family's flower shop very frequently, that's how Toshiro and Fumi met, since she often helps out with the shop in the evenings. Though they didn't become close until the main story started and the unit was firmed.

🍑✒️ Toshiro and Seina know each other because their siblings, Hiroto and Taru, are friends! So they kinda met through Seina accompanying Taru whenever they wanted to visit Hiroto.

🍊✒️ Fumi loves coffee and met Seina when going to the coffee shop Seina works part-time at. Because Fumi ended up being a regular customer there, even with their tough personality the two became acquaintances, but also didn't become very close until the events of the main story.

🍑🦈 Toshiro and Matsu just kinda bumped into each other at school. They became friends before the events of the main story.

🦈✒️ I think Matsu and Seina are the only exception though. They've only met when the main story started.

Dynamics!!

🍑🍊 They bicker and argue a lot, but not, like, SERIOUSLY. They're both aware they're joking and most of the time it's affectionate. Fumi isn't as big of a fan of physical affection as it seems the rest of the unit is, so Toshiro doesn't get the chance to braid her hair that often. But when he does, it's very nice and relaxing for both. Surprisingly, Toshiro might be the closest to Fumi, after Matsu, that is.

🍑✒️ Toshiro loves braiding/doing everyone's hair, as I've mentioned already, and his favorite to do this to is Seina. They especially like braiding these tail-like longer parts of her hair. Overall, they're pretty close because of their siblings, and Toshiro might be one of the first people Seina eventually opens up to. Also, I keep forgetting that Toshiro is actually taller. Most of the time, Seina just. FEELS taller, idk.

🍑🦈 These two are very close. They both kinda admire Rui and Tsukasa, which worsens their already chaotic behavior. They're actually two menaces together and no one is safe. Matsu loves tackling Toshiro more than everyone else and Toshiro might sometimes jokingly complain, but loves the attention. Matsu's hair is also his second favorite to braid. Also they drag Matsu to MMJ concerts and keep trying to convert him into being an MMJ fan,,,,,,

🍊✒️ Seina has a surprising way of calming Fumi down better than anyone else. Sometimes, maybe if they're waiting for something or riding a train somewhere, Fumi even allows herself to rest on Seina's shoulder. She's less harsh with Seina (even if her harshness isn't malicious with her friends). Seina sometimes has to stop Fumi from getting into fights. Even if she struggles to show it, Fumi tries her best and appreciates Seina a lot.

🍊🦈 As I mentioned before, Matsu and Fumi are childhood friends. At the beginning of the unit story things are still pretty awkward and Fumi is very tense around Matsu, as she still feels guilty, but isn't sure how to properly express any of it, while Matsu still feels a little hiet over her abandoning him. Though as the story goes on, this conflict pretty much gets resolved, even though it will still take a lot of time for any awkwardness to disappear completely. After the unit is formed, they're pretty close again, despite, uh, all of what I just said. They need some time to get used to each other again, but ARGHHH I LOVE THEM SO MUCH, they care about each other A LOT, even if Fumi isn't the best at expressing it. The whole reason she became so mean and harsh is to be able to protect Matsu.

✒️🦈 Seina kinda feels like an older sister figure to Matsu, I think? At least, for me,, She worries about him a lot, maybe even more than with the others, helps in overwhelming situations, all that. He's still very affectionate, but it's kinda like his affection is more calm with her (basically, he doesn't tackle her as hard as everyone else /hj)

SEKAI description!!!

(I just copy-pasted this from the post where I first described it. I'm NOT typing all that ever again)

I mentioned that I call it the overgrown sekai. Because it's, well, overgrown. As you could hopefully guess. The main part of it is an old stone structure, with some intricate carvings still remaining visible and even discernable, although everything does look like it's at least.. a few centuries old, no less. However, taking into account that it's a sekai, it probably isn't that ancient. Almost everything is pretty much overrun by plants – ivy spreading across the grey stone walls, grass (and most importantly flowers) breaking their way through the floor that seems to be made of marble, but it's too old, overgrown and at times dirty to be completely sure. The said flowers are a strange mix of forget-me-nots and sunflowers that may not quite make sense, but it *is* a whole ass other dimension, after all. There's plenty of light, despite practically no windows in sight, save for a few small ones. The reason for that being the roof, shaped like a dome, with holes in it that clearly weren't here by the first design, having appeared because of the stone collapsing over time. Unsurprisingly, the flowers are concentrated in the areas where the most light seeps through those holes. And speaking of light, the time here is always the same – late afternoon, with the season always remaining a comfortable sunny summer.

There's some furniture in the building, mostly along the walls, with the center looking almost like a flowerbed. That furniture seems to represent each of the owners of the sekai – an old desk made of dark wood with a quil and some paper thrown around it, almost giving it an impression that the owner left in a hurry. The paper has become a light yellow color over what may or may not be a rather long amount of time. Next to it – a somewhat fancy wooden chair. There are mirrors hung around this part of the space – some broken, some have the glass taken out entirely. Just a little further – a shelf and an armchair. Both items' materials and overall look fit that of nearly very other piece of furniture here. The shelf is filled with items that seem to have some spiritualistic significance – amulets, crystals and stones, all of them hand-made and hand-carved, yet seeming to lack in accuracy and having been made in a hurry. The armchair strangely has a few long chains hanging on its back. One of the more noticeable pieces of furniture is... a fish tank. It has no fish. In fact, it doesn't even have water, though it's probably not intended to be that way – the tank is spacious and has pretty much almost everything a fish would need to be happy and content in captivity. But it's old and worn out – the driftwood rotting away, whatever plants used to be inside have withered and everything is covered in a thin layer of... dust..? The tank itself stands on top of something of a dresser. If you care to open its doors, you will see rows upon rows of books – as many as could fit in the little space there is inside. Most of them have to do with marine life, but there are also some journals full of incomprehensible messy writing, as if whoever was filling them either didn't have much time, or was feeling too much emotion to care. Perhaps the strangest item in the building is a cage. It's designed just like one of those small restricting bird cages, glistening with gold in the light from above, but for some reason, the cage could easily fit a human. If you decide to step in, you might notice an unexpected aroma. It's vague and subtle, but... it almost seems like fresh black coffee mixed with something citrusy. Outside, the building is surrounded by a dense forest. The light can't penetrate the abundance of trees, but somehow, it doesn't feel eerie or threatening. It feels familiar in an unexplainable way. Have you already seen these woods somewhere..?

Everyone liked weekends, but you surely had one more reason to enjoy them. Both you and Shinsou were free from school, which only meant one thing: date!

You always did something different: watching anime, making sculptures, painting, chatting, taking walks... one time you even tried to crochet, but he made a mess and got so grumpy that you decided to drop that activity.

That Saturday, you two decided to go at the cat shelter to do some volunteering. It was a really unusual date, but you loved spending time with each other and a ton of purring furballs. Also, the happy, adoring expression on Shinsou's face was so endearing...

The owners of the shelter were extremely nice with you, and they adored how you spent your free time on "volunteering dates". Obviously they made you work a little, but then they let you play with the kitties as much as you wanted! Actually, they let you play until it was closing time... or else you would've never gone back home.

"Hey baby I'm done with Kai, we can go home." Shinsou called for you after leaving a 5-month-old kitten to sleep, but he got no response. He saw you sitting on a chair, your back was facing him. "Baby didn't you hear me? We got-" "Shh!" You suddenly interrupted him.

He raised an eyebrow and approached you, and he couldn't believe his eyes. The new refugee of the cat shelter, who refused even to approach the sweet owners, was cuddled up on your lap and peacefully asleep. "Would you look at that..." the tall teenager smiled, "seems like this little rascal finally chose someone to trust." He was overjoyed to see that furball finally open up.

"Too bad that this human is already busy with someone else~" He reached out to grab the kitten and put him back in his sleeping pillow, but you swatted his hands away. "You're not ruining this moment..!" You whisper-yelled to not disturb the sleepy little angel, "It took me the whole day to get to this point, now we're staying here." You stated, more assertive than ever.

Your boyfriend raised an eyebrow, clearly amused with your antics, "Oh really? Then it would be a shame if a sudden earthquake disrupted your peace~"

You didn't have time to ask him what he meant. A tingly feeling spread throughout your body, making you almost jump and throw away the poor kitten. "Shinsohohou!! Stahap ihihihihit!!" You did your best to keep your legs still and not wake the little furball, but at the same time you desperately tried to swat Shinsou's hands away from your sides.

"But I'm doing nothing, honey... it's just the earthquake." He mused, close enough to your ear to make it tickle, and then blew a raspberry on your neck for good measure. He had to admit, he was a little surprised by how much you were resisting the impulse to squirm away. In other circumstances, you would've already jumped away and hidden somewhere, maybe curled up in a ball.

"Wow, not so squirmy now that you have the little rascal on your lap, huh?" He asked as his fingers played with both sides of your ribcage as if it was a piano, "I think we should name him Giggles... a fitting name related to a wonderful memory like this one..." He thought out loud with the clear intent to tease.

However, the fun had to come to an end. The owners were closing up and you two had to go back to school. He chuckled evilly and without wasting time, he drilled softly under your arms. This time, you couldn't hold back the squeal, which woke up the cat.

"Ah... you're finally awake, Giggles. Did you have a nice rest on my girlfriend's lap?" The violet-haired guy slowly approached the cat, "Now it's time to go to your actual bed, though. But we'll be back soon, alright?" He picked up the little one and laid him on his sleeping pillow and waited for him to fall asleep, then he looked at you and helped you up.

"Come on, say goodbye to giggles and get ready to go, or else I'll let you alone in Aizawa's clutches if we arrive late to UA." He told you with a smug grin on his face. You quickly got ready, not wanting to be scolded by the strict teacher, said goodbye to the owners and got on your way with your boyfriend.

"So... did you have fun on this date, Giggles 2?" Shinsou asked, laughing at how red your face turned, which made you smack his arm in utter embarrassment.

i read* this jamikali fic (i like my ships with a bit [read: a LOT] of tragedy/disaster-ness to them. it's so so so compelling to read!) and i just love the "Dubiously Unrequited Love" tag. bcs yes, the feelings are technically mutual, but there is a whole slew of other factors keeping the relationship from being a thing, which it could be a thing, but there's also that awareness that it won't last, sometimes a couple doesn't have to be endgame for the love to mean something, ykw?

this entire oneshot series....has me in a chokehold... my introduction to "Non-Sexual Intimacy" (and "Non-Sexual Nudity" i guess?) like??? holy shit??? the tension?? the way op just encapsulates the poignancy of being in such a vulnerable position without teetering too much into the cliche of roëmænce it has me On My Knees!! (like i love my smut and romance cliches, but some days i jus want a liiiitle bit more spice and variety)

Shoutout to the "Unreliable Narrator"++"Ambiguous Ending" combi that reaaaaally makes you work for understanding the plot, idk how to word it but being able to leave Just Enough Breadcrumbs and having enough trust in your readers to Get what ur implying, also forcing me to reread the fic immediately is so foul (in a good way). like there's an enjoyment in a good satisfying read, and then there's the Itch of never being sure in your interpretation, the feeling that u just need to go over it another time, spot another detail u missed, get wrecked all over again, rinse and repeat. idk i love fic.
