I was on the verge of madness. And yet I still love this game.#Little known secret about me: over 70% of the blogs I follow on tumblr are flondon rp blogs.#The cool art and character lore brings me a lot of joy!#With that said; what the hell is the coincidence that right as I finish Nemesis -#The flondon community starts a Nemesis Race.#Guys. it’s not worth it. It is a revenge quest about losing everything you have to see your task through.#All to culminate in the discovering that you are beefing it with a fanfiction writing bat.#That said; I do feel like this story was very satisfying for my melancholic doctor.#I knew I would get the choice between sparing or killing my nemesis (the bat) and I had a long time to think it through.#Someone who wants to save lives and (does as much as possible to do make things better for others) choosing against mercy?#Someone who never permitted themselves to let the city truly become a home because they were not a person - they were a tool for grief.#Alright..Yeah the ending was really good.#I will be back with a part two. Clearly I'm tenacious enough to commit to what I started.#If I am not excommunicated on sight by the flondon community I will be back with comics for the other ambitions.

In the odyssey, Penelope gave a test to all the travelers and beggers who claimed to carry news of her husband. She asked them everytime to describe his clothes. Because she had clothed him herself the morning he had left.

Odysseus is one of the few who pass it, describing a purple himation and the pin she had used.

Now picture, odysseus refuses to take this himation off. He doesn't care that it's getting increasingly tattered and stained /his wife put this on him/ and he will kill anyone who tries to take it off him. He looses everything he has over and over again. Except for this himation. He manages to hang on to it for the entire war and journey. Only to wake up on calypso's island and it's/gone./

When he begs the goddess for it's return she laughs an angry laugh. Saying "that old thing? I threw that away first. It was ruined beyond repair. You dont need a himation anyway but if you ask me nicely enough I'll make you a new one."

That's the first day odysseus spends all day weeping at the beach. But it certainly won't be the last.

I really like that they made Jor-El speak Kryptonian and Clark unable to understand him. The whole "aliens speak English" thing that happens in every goddamn media has bothered me all my life. Ik sometimes Clark just gets zapped in the brain for insta-second language but that always felt like a cheap shortcut.

Jor-El had a lot on his mind when he set up that magic spaceship okay. The world was ending and he was trying to do as much as he could before time ran out so he could be there for his son. He was rushing. He likely didn't consider Kal would be raised with a whole different language and not know any Kryptonian nor have anyone to teach him.

chengxian’s orpheus and eurydice motifs are going to slowly drive me to the brink of insanity but i’m cool with it

#chengxian #jc coming to find wwx at the burial mounds is orpheus-coded but he's not the most orpheus-coded out of the two #it's obviously wwx's who's a musician and who's admired for his many talents #he's also the one who defies death the most out of the two. wwx doesn't accept death (unless it's his own) whereas jc is always put in the #position of having to. accept it. and yet not move on.#eurydice has the whole snake motif going on since she got bitten by one #(so that's jc and zidian obvs)#that whole scene reads as 'i'm coming to pull you out of the underworld and bring you back to life (home)'#but then the answer is 'actually i've made a home out of death' and #AND the fact that wwx still tries to carve yunmeng into the soil of that home #to make lotus grow!! in this weird underworld situation!!#and the fact that when jc appears in the scene wwx comes up to him and tries to drag him by the hand #further into the burial mounds!! roles reversed!!#anyways bark bark bite bite i am indeed on the brink of insanity #i just live for motifs and symbols. actually.

also you might be wondering why his wings are open here when I don't normally draw the voices like that. well the thing about the right eye being covered is kinda meant to symbolise how their perspectives are always limited by what they are. the wings are shaped in relation to the voices' beings and their beliefs, right? and it is this very thing that clouds their judgement, and prevents them from seeing what is truly right. in the end they can only see what's left behind for them, so their left eyes remain visible.

one of my favorite clark headcanons that i have (that is completely unsupported by canon) is that he's transgender by kryptonian standards. martha and jon kent raised him as a boy and as he grew up he never had any reason to doubt it at all, he was like yeah i'm a boy, makes sense. and then he gets to the fortress of solitude for the first time and it turns out how Gender works on krypton was just Different enough that clark doesn't really fit the kryptonian standards of whatever he was supposed to be. bonus points because this makes him feel like even more of an outsider as a kryptonian, even if he's the last one left.
