anyway STOP SAYING MONK IS THE MOST BORING SLUGCAT every scene they're in shows so much raw emotion that reveals so much about their character, in the very first cutscene they are in at the beginning of the game we see their bravery as they don't hesitate to jump in after their sibling, in their ascending cutscene you can see the emotion in their eyes once they find survivor in the void, in the tree ending you can see that very same emotion after reuniting with survivor, I can almost see disbelief that after all that time they're back home.

Anyway point is don't disrespect monk they arguably show more emotion and bravery than all the other original slugcats, just because the other new guys get their own things doesn't mean you should forget our roots, the original special cutscene slugcat my beloved, they show so much personality (and also aren't trying so hard to be some new super hard difficulty with borderline rage game things going on 🙄 btw stop telling people who make mods to make them harder, bitch the game is already so hard that people barely want to pick up the game anything that helps it be more accessible is more than appreciated)

I don't think my parents would allow me to repaint my room to a fun color :( I'm ok with painting any of my furniture's except for my desktop (I put so much time and effort to finally make the posters look nice in there ;-;)

Hi! Sure I think I can try to help. You room is super cute BTW. So 2000s are everything but what is your favorite things from that time? Favorite shows, music? What is your style? Do you like girly? Do you like goth Hot topic style? Rooms when I was growing up is always about personality. Representing your favorites! I love Britney, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC. I found dead stock posters for $8 on eBay. I also went to goodwill and thrifted lots of cheap NSYNC framed photos for $2-$4 dollars a piece. If you like girly, 2000s were all about beaded curtains, bed canopy’s, you can even make them super affordable. I think people have some tutorials on Pinterest. I’ve seen cool wall hangings with old CDs and that was popular in the 2000s. 😄The y2k era brought back a lot of 1970s styles like flower power, mod circles, butterflies in bedding and wall art. Glow in the dark starts are cheap and we’re super popular. You can even find wall clings of simple flowers probably somewhere. I put a bunch on my walls. I bought a Lisa Frank calendar from the dollar tree and used all the art as little posters! lol if you have things stored from childhood or parents or anyone u know lived through it or maybe was a little older, ask if they have anything in storage that they don’t want or ask parents if they kept any of your old stuff or toys. Family may help out if they still have some cool older stuff. My mom saved our old Lisa Frank trapper keeper, she saved my old Pokémon stuff and I didn’t even know till I asked. You may have some stuff hiding right in your house! lol also I always recommend thrifting. I could go to my local Goodwill today and hunt for 90s-2000s stuff and find it everywhere and I use that as decoration. I find y2k bedding and curtains and vintage toys! You can find the coolest stuff so cheap and affordable. 😊 not sure what color you’re thinking of painting your furniture. But even working with basic white isn’t a bad thing, you can put all the colors in the decorations and really use the white to your advantage if u wanted to keep it simple. It would make decor stand out.

If you like the hot topic alternative style, bands, that would be a whole other style. And I can help u if u like that as well. Music posters are the best for that for sure. My rooms were plastered with bands and skulls. lol

as I dig into making an update for the Dalish Rook mod, I get more and more frustrated with the way "elven" dialogue currently works in the game.

why is it an elven Rook of any background knows that "anvallenim" means "womb" in ancient elven, but then only a Veil Jumper elf knows what the way of three trees is when it's one of the basics of elven culture? and, furthermore, only a Veil Jumper Rook (regardless of race btw) can recognise that Assan is named after the elven word for arrow? why are these requirements such a mess?

This isn't Elder Scrolls Confessions (A great blog BTW check it out) but I have something to confess to all of you.

Oblivion's horrendous LOD, performance issues, and pop in are legitimately the reason I've only ever beaten the game a single time. I've played a bunch of Morrowind and Skyrim on PC with zero issues that couldn't be easily resolved. Open MW runs smooth like butter. Skyrim, even heavily modded, can run near flawlessly minus an occasional hiccup. But god oh god does Oblivion run terribly.

Even natively, Oblivion stutters regularly, and when I'm able to get it to run smooth, the draw distance and various other visual issues are so overwhelming to me that I can't play it without getting a headache from the FPS and my personal frustration. I don't want to be walking to Kvatch and see trees and grass literally popping into existence within my direct line of sight. I want to be able to actually see forests and ruins from the distance without having to install a bunch of janky mods from 15 years ago that just add even more stutters than before.

I've seriously tried everything I can to get that game to both run smoothly *and* have solid visuals/LOD/draw distance. I've tried every mod and LOD Gen method I can and nothing works. Even if I'm able to get the LOD fixed, the LOD fix causes horrendous stuttering issues that are even worse than the native performance.

IDK what Bethesda was doing with Oblivion's engine but boy oh boy did they goof on it bigly. I have an immensely powerful PC rig and still can't get that game to look and run right on modern hardware.

I beat Oblivion on the 360 and really enjoyed it back in the day, but when I got into PC gaming and tried replaying Oblivion for the first time in years...woof. It was a rough experience. I only got like halfway through the game before I couldn't handle the performance and visual issues anymore. I've tried probably half a dozen times since then to get back into the game and fix the issues, but I never can and it makes me immensely sad.

Maybe PC gaming ruined me and my expectations of visuals and performance, but its so hard trying to replay Oblivion with all its performance issues. I haven't been able to get back into it playing the game despite absolutely loving the game itself and the story.

I suppose this post is my last cry for help on this. I'd love nothing more than to get Oblivion fixed and running well. There's no reason Morrowind and Skyrim should run so well on my PC while Oblivion cannot.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Maybe someone else with similar frustrations will find this post and your advice could help them too.
