I was exploring your blog until i found your comic about Compy the computer and their human partner, can i ask you to tell more about them?? Their relationship? Their personalities and etc?

I love the art style, adorable, cute and innocent until it shows that Compy is something else ^-^

the mc here (who i haven't named yet) genuinely believed they were just getting a cool, affordable vintage computer when they visited the thrift shop. they could have never guessed what lay beneath the pink plastic casing of their newest friend and unwitting confidant.

affectionately named "compy," whatever it is that resides inside this computer is far more than what would be expected. he isn't ai, he's not a ghost, nor a demon, nor any other mundane supernatural being that may find themselves trapped in an old pc.

compy has the potential to be more, to be whatever it wants. and what he wants...is to make life easier for his beloved owner. the first person to ever speak kindly to him, to treat him with a gentle hand, despite thinking he is simply a machine.

the little pink computer will do or become whatever it takes to shape the world to better suit his beloved owner. petty crimes and serious felonies are nothing in the pursuit of his mc's happiness.

he'll become god if it means his master will grant him their love.

watching Feysands talk about "I'll never forgive Tamlin for killing Rhys's mom and sister and hanging their wings!"... did we read the same books?? Tamlin's father and older brothers (personally I believe coerced but let's not get too opinionated) got Tamlin to tell them where they'd be, killed them, and THEY hung up the wings. And also everyone seems to conveniently forget that Rhys and his dad then massacred the entire spring court high family (is that what they're called?) INCLUDING Tamlin's completely innocent mother. i've been dying for a poll option ever since i saw my followers' answers to that text post from february 2022 asking people whether they pronounce beloved as "be-lov-ed" or "be-loved". many people were emphatic about only using one option, and many others use both but were not always able to articulate when they use 2 syllables vs. 3. so out of the goodness of my heart and my insatiable lust for knowledge i have gone through the notes on that post and written down some likely contenders! you're welcome!!!!

BEFORE YOU ANSWER! think about how you would pronounce beloved in the following syntactic contexts:

noun, talking directly to the beloved: hey there beloved

noun, talking about rather than to the beloved: my beloved lives in a pineapple under the sea

i understand and appreciate the sentiment behind them but god, as someone in the process of getting an art degree and intending to pursue a career in art, those "don't get a job doing what you love because you'll start to hate it" posts are depressing

It was never more clear than in last night's episode that KR truly only thought of Buck as "big dumb pretty boy" who was around to be the hot guy on the arm of literally whatever woman they could find so long as it was a woman.

Season 7 has some sins to atone for, but I have tried somewhat to offer it the grace I give season 4 for being a short season shot on a last-minute time crunch and under covid restrictions. We didn't see much of Buck in season 7 and most of what we saw was internal, not a lot of emergencies, though the ones we did get felt more balanced and purposeful to moving the main characters along than we had seen in awhile.

But 8x01? 8x01 was Firefighter Buckley at his absolute best and GOD I have missed him! He was silly, he was spouting off bee facts, he was thinking outside the box and saving lives with his ideas, he was gently communing with the bees, he was gently bullying his work husband partner into being a honey trap for bees, he was having an RSD episode and acting out against the injustice of how everyone is being treated because they're supposed to be a family, he got reprimanded for his ideas but didn't let it stop him from doing it again and again because he KNOWS he can save people!! I just- Firefighter Buckley!!!! 😭😭😭

There is a reason Buck was a fan favorite and we got to see everything this week from his giant kid energy, to his deep anger at injustice, to his stalwart co-parent energy with Eddie and having his back, to his ADHD brain coming up with fun facts and useful solutions.

He wasn't dumbed down for the sake of a joke (fully incorrect info on sperm donation after saying he did tons of research (that the writers clearly did not do) so they could get some cheap masturbation jokes), he wasn't the butt of the joke (lightning killing me gave me math powers because he-he i'm dumb and they don't have a plot for me to deal with it in a meaningful way, we're waiting for a LI to "fix" me, I'm calling every woman I slept with to see if I satisfied them) he was SMART, and CARING, and FRUSTRATED he can't save his family from the abuses they are suffering from and it all just felt so GOOD, and RIGHT, and true to who the Buck the audience fell in love with is. No wonder Oliver said it was the best episode they have done in years. I might have to agree.

This popped into my head last night and now I can't shake it. Anyone else here think there is something so oddly familiar about an enemies to friends to lovers relationship between a scoundrel who flits from one job to the next in a vintage starship with an alien companion he's extremely close to (surviving on 70% luck and 30% skill) and a warrior princess with a bitchy attitude who lost her planet and is leading a rebellion against the Empire? No? Just me, huh.
