What's the deal with Cutter Gauthier? I saw your gifs and hadn't realized that he already played an nhl match. Will he be a full time Duck next szn do you think?
okay anon if you're the same one that asked about PLD . we gotta work on your tone alksjlkdfkl I'm not here to police you buuuuut . lord i do think a less forgiving person would just delete some of these asks.. tbh I am hardly the ducks blog on this website to be asking, but i will give my 2 cents for what its worth!!!
i support him advocating for his own future and i dont rly care that some executives had their feelings hurt, we're a pro draft dodging household here. didn't like the media campaign when the trade was announced (bit contradictory to say you were "protecting him" by keeping the trade quiet and then uhhh go on your regional broadcast to blast him for not wanting to play on your team + invite the ire of the entire fanbase and broader hockey community but okayyy) and i think thats prob where a lot of the negative perception comes from. and to stir the pot...i'd say part of it also comes from the idea that he 'broke up' the tz+jd pairing; and people pitting him and tz against each other as enemies because of it ... this sentiment is uh. idk how to say this politely but we do Not live in the same reality if u feel this way alksjdakljd
anyway. his Deal, I think, is that he's just a kid. just some guy. not that complicated. i did some listening to podcasts/interviews hes been on while it was all going down and he seems. normal. driven, well-spoken, can get silly with his friends. wants to play in the nhl. average hockey player stuff.
less seriously,, part of me did want him to lean into the villain naratives. and i also love pathetic losers LMAO so like his comments at the frozen four were funny as hell and even FUNNIER is them losing . plus he has the look for it !! its the eyebrows. but the story is a lot more boring. like, the articles linked in my gifset; reading that he was shy going into college, reading that he doesn't want to be the villain </3 man. these guys are just KIDS. I'm genuinely rooting for him to succeed, as i am with most players!
and as for your other stuff, Gauthier debuted in the last ducks game of the season!! He scored his first point, too <3 it was sweet seeing him celebrate with his family after the game. as for next season, we got three paths now that he's signed his ELC: either he spends the full season in the NHL playing 82 games, they put him on the load management thing they did with Leo last season, or he spends time with the Gulls in the AHL. Personally, I don't think he'll start in the AHL - maybe they send him down if the NHL proves too hard and they aren't willing to let him play through it, but unlikely. speculation about the load management plan coming from all sides, but no confirmation from the ducks camp afaik. i hope he plays the full 82 games!! ducks are looking to be competitive next year, so fingers crossed we see them stay healthy and give the league a challenge !! <3
#asks#anon#cutter gauthier#anaheim ducks#anon im begging you to throw in an emoji to show you aren't trying to kill me with your mind or accuse me of something asldkjalj#i call u deadpan anon in my head#asks are so distinctly . blank. im obsessed

Could you talk more about not being happy with the direction they've taken with Rhaenyra in episode 7?
so, just for clarity's sake, i'm specifically talking about the red sowing, from the start of the dragonseeds attempt to claim vermithor and being slaughtered as rhaenyra watches all the way up to hugh's success. and it's not that i hate it — unlike episodes 3 & 8 which left me a bit baffled or were lackluster, this part of ep 7 is a very well-done; it's atmospheric, ritualistic, even ramin's score conveys the tension and radicalism of what is being attempted. emma is brilliant, it's genuinely a feat technically as well.
but it is a major shift, and ik it's meant to be a progression during the season but it's still a jump from rhaenyra reading her ancestor's writings to the almost fanatic piousness she displays here. and more than that, for 6 solid episodes, rhaenyra avoids bloodshed and war. with mysaria, she fights a political game to win over the hearts of the smallfolk — and although this is tactical, there is little which belies the claim that rhaenyra is caring of the smallfolk. if the show was smarter, perhaps it would show mysaria's misgivings about rhaenyra's actions in this episode, or show mysaria's "belief" in rhaenyra to be at least partly manipulative as a way to merge these two conflicting narratives, but she's written no more as someone who earnestly believes in rhaenyra's mission and that's, hm, a little contradictory. so, in some respect, i do feel like this change in rhaenyra does come out of the left field.
but that's less important really, more than that it bothers me that rhaenyra's motivations are shifted from the fight for her birthright (& being usurped for her gender) and being affected by her grief, to suddenly being more focused around the prophecy and the divine right to rule. it's a little. unsatisfying, the way that characters are no longer motivated by what happened to them just an episode or two ago, it all falls to the wayside even in a season that was supposedly meant to be driven by grief, that by the end no one remembers rhaenys, or lucerys, or visenya, or jaehaerys. the show just departs from that post episode-2 of this season.
rhaenyra's story was never one of becoming a religious zealot and it's not that it's not a good storyline, but is this the place for it? i don't know, i'm not sold on it. (sometimes i think the show doesn't know what point it wants to make tbh.) and it's frustrating that all character motivations come back to that prophecy, which feels like the writers' attempt to constantly bank on the audience's love of got.

in defense of emily's move last night
okay so basically i had the night to think abt it and tbh i rly should be studying and doing work for finals but i can't move on until i've said my comprehensive piece on this.
note: my opinions r not all original as i've watched the know-it-alls and have been occasionally checking the reddit but here are my thoughts:
bruce. emily knows bruce is a polarizing and erratic player. at the start of the episode, she vocalized that its very very hard to make a move with the belos because they are such a fractured group, specifically with bruce being the core of that rupture within belo. it would be completely out of character for her to say something so logical at the top of the episode then, later, do something completely contradictory.
katurah. at the sanctuary, she watched katurah throw bruce under the bus and immediately reveal his lie about the idol. while i don't necessarily fault katurah for doing that, it also showed emily that katurah and bruce were simply never going to work together. if they can't even pull together to tell a single lie, why would she move forward with such an unconnected pair?
women. she keeps the women in the game. side note, i know a lot of people have hated on emily for ratting out the all-womens alliance in the kellie boot episode but in kellie's exit press with rob c, she said that the women's alliance was basically a non-factor and almost no one, at that time, thought it was real so...take that how you will. anyway, this point is mostly speculation on my part and, in all honesty, is likely to be completely disproven in the next episode but there has been a lot of focus on drew + austin + emily as the trio she's most tightly entangled with. however, at the sanctuary, there was a lot of talk about a woman winning the game and big bonding moments between the women. i'm a bit of a edgic tin hatter but why would they keep that in the show if a woman wasn't going to win or if the women don't come together in some way? maybe, because of the reward, emily is now seeing a path forward with dee + julie or even katurah. by eliminating bruce, she keeps the women's numbers up against the mens. **NOTE: this is pure speculation and i'm going to be hella embarrassed when that doesn't happen next week but, hey, a girl can dream, i guess. so much of my survivor watching experience is pure delusion!**
jury management. emily has been jury managing her ASS off. she is leveraging her position as the sole lulu left to disseminate information to people on the bottom and i LOVE it. stephen pointed out that her brutal honesty really worked with jake in last nights episode. she basically told him the information he needed to hear about drew targeting him (which, in turn, strengthened her relationship with jake as he had been desiring both a human and game connection) while also not being the one to make a move either way. she said "i'm in a good position right now so i can't." if anyone else had said that, jake probably would've gotten pissed at them but he understood where emily was coming from as she is the lone lulu left the game. furthermore, it seems from the edit that the jury is giving her sole credit for the bruce move (deserved, honestly) which bruce will probably only echo when he gets to ponderosa as she, seemingly, had been the one to convince him not to play his idol. i think she's been using the adam klein brutal honesty strategy to great effect. shes probably doing it better than adam did it, honestly lmfao. it may blow up in her face if drew and jake come together to compare notes but right now it seems to be working well.
finally, timing. i think that if she pulled trigger on the julie move, it would've been way too early. by getting rid of julie this round, she would open herself up as a target to dee + drew + austin, who probably all see katurah and jake as more of a goat than they see her to be. she would've revealed herself to a) be against reba (which dee is staunchly and vindictively against) and b) the most strategic person of the last three non-reba remaining. if she pulled the move against julie then, at best, for the next round, she could force a tie with katurah and jake but honestly they seem more interested in being the fifth reba than working against the power alliance so that wouldn't be ideal either. i think that by holding back, she's hoping to find and exploit a crack later in the very endgame. whether there even will be a crack remains to be seen.
tldr; i can't say with 100% confidence that financial analyst emily flippen will win the game but i think her move last night to vote out bruce is being way over-hated and i can honestly see a lot of merit and her thinking behind it. she's a logical player and, given the cards she has, i think it was a pretty logical move.

tbh Kokichi + DICE brainworms can't leave my head cause I really believe that Kokichi around DICE is him at his best. It's him with people who willingly support and follow him, knows him well enough to trust him in spite of his lies, and idk I always have this sense that some of the DICE members knew Kokichi before like, whatever happened that made him tell Kaito that they're different people/people you trust backstab you and all that. Like they knew Kokichi before he became the supreme leader. They /made/ Kokichi their Supreme Leader (im projecting Phantom Troupe+Kuroro/8 Generals+Sinbad so damn hard on DICE+Kokichi smh). The Kokichi they know is the Kokichi of ch 1-3 where yes he's a lying sack of shit, but is mostly a harmless nuisance and says shit you don't want to hear to you to genuinely help you.
And then comes the Kokichi of ch 4. Someone nobody trusted. Someone isolated. He wasn't supposed to be like this. He was supposed to have people who trust him and understand him in spite of his antics and are willing to work with him at all times. And then he got the damn key card and found out that DICE is dead. And then the person he's been working the most closely with on his plan to get the hell out plans to murder him.
Like hot take? I think Kokichi's used to being trusted. It feels super contradictory with the fact that he's a liar but I think that all 9 DICE members are so used to his bullshit that they couldn't care less about what he said and rides or dies with him either way. And so I honestly think that knowing that the 9 people who trusted him is dead, and then realising that the person he's literally asking to draft anti-monokuma anarchy weapons does not give a shit about his plan, probably snapped something in him and convinced him that he can't take trust for granted anymore in this game. He have to get in people's head and exploit their weaknesses. He has to honest to god manipulate them.
THUS!!!!! (flips open my whiteboard) is my DICE-and-Momota-kinda-gets along agend-- /JOKES i'm kidding i just really like DICE & Kokichi but I genuinely think DICE will have some respect for Kaito for trusting in Kokichi's plan. I love the hc that postgame Kaito wakes up earlier than Kokichi and takes turns w/ some of the DICE members to look after Kokichi before he wakes up and when he stabilises they all pulled one super elaborate prank on him as a welcome gift. (this is the peak of my self-indulgence)
#i realise that my interpretation of kokichi tends to be very sympathetic#which is not accurate at all but i think its really just because#i think about DICE all the damn time#and like this guy has to do something right if he can get 9 people to be honestly loyal to him#and like it's not one sided!! Kokichi also thinks DICE is the most impt ppl in his life!!#sometimes i completely ignore 'DICE is fictional' HCs or make up other HCs like 'DICE is Kokichi's MMORPG guild members' cause#you cant give me found family morally questionable anti hero troupe and not expect me to eat it up#sideeyes hxh phantom troupe#sideeyes magi 8 generals

i know this is random, but i ask bc you're a KoH expert: i never understood the choice to have Imad appear as the servant when he and Balian first meet? i guess it makes for a surprise when he returns (tho tbh would the scene be significantly different if we already knew Imad's true status?) but what even was the point of it narratively? was it just a misunderstanding on the christian side? did Imad himself promote the idea?? why?? for fun?? for the drama?? any ideas?
Honestly I can only speculate here as well. I mean, the script is easily the worst part of KoH, and much as I love Imad as a character, he doesn't make much sense (or any at all) narratively.
Anyways, I did some digging and found this horrid little movie tie-in book on archive.org. The two measly paragraphs dedicated to Imad give no reasons for his weird game of hide-and-seek whatsoever, and, in my opinion, only make his character more contradictory:
"Another character invented for the story's purpose is the young Muslim knight Imad, Saladin's confidant and commander of his cavalry. He serves as a kind of Arab counterpart to Balian: similar in age, intelligent, honorable, and humane. He is the first person Balian encounters after the shipwreck that lands him on the shore of Palestine, and Imad escorts the Frenchman into Jerusalem. Although he hides his true identity from Balian then, it's revealed when they meet later in the story. While Imad is fictional, his name (and to some extent his character) is an homage to the eloquent Muslim chronicler Imad ad-Din, who accompanied Saladin on his expeditions and reported on the Battle of Hattin. In the screenplay Imad is described as 'scholarly' in appearance, and we might imagine that he will one day set down his own history of Saladin's campaigns."
What I gather from this is that Imad was mainly there for plot convenience reasons, both to provide a little narrative twist and to drive home the fact to sceptical Western post-9/11 audiences that such people as honourable Muslims do exist. *audible gasp*
So I'd say that in Imad's case, the features of the character and the film's ideological undercurrent probably took precedence over logic or narrative cohesion. Like, how would Imad even know that there was a Christian guy on his land when Balian, the way the movie frames it, only arrived via shipwreck perhaps a day ago? Do people report back to him that quickly so that he can think of unnecessarily elaborate ways to disguise himself? It's alllll for the drama, baby.
I suppose the whole thing was meant to show how crafty Imad is and how much foresight he possesses. But the levels of foresight needed to act like he did in that scene would probably equal prophetic powers, which is not what I imagine they were going for, lol. Like so many things in this film, this could have been handled much better.
But then again, the entire Imad character is just a baffling creation to me. I never understood why they didn't just make him entirely fictional, call him Nasir or Imad or some other cool name and keep the allusions to the historical figure out of it completely. Historical Imad ad-Din wasn't exactly a paragon of nicety, after all. Homie wrote about the mass rape of women and girls and made it sound like an achievement, so - dear Ridley Scott, my dude - I'm not sure this is the sort of guy one should be paying homage to in this day and age. On top of that, he was born in 1125, which means that by the time the events portrayed in KoH occurred, he would have been so old it would have made Salah ad-Din look like a spring chicken in comparison.
So yeah, the way I see it, logic really took a bit of a holiday here. As did historical accuracy (not that that is anything surprising in this dear trainwreck of a movie).
#asks#imad ad din#kingdom of heaven 2005#btw i'm pretty sure i made a post about imad's character before but i cannot fpr the life of me find it at the moment#sorry for not being very active on here lately#i still exist people i promise

Hey hey I just read through Litanies, which was bloody phenomenal by the by, and had a lore ask I was wondering about. Since in your headcanon the Healing Church begins to introduce blood healing after the events of the fishing hamlet, thus inducing all the fun blood shenaniganery in Yharnam such would entail, would you then theorise that Cainhurst would only have gotten their 'cursed' blood after the fact? Or would it be a case of a rogue prospector making off with forbidden blood in the early days of Byrgenwerth? I'm only speculating, largely due to the description of the Rakuyo implying that the use of blood weapons within Cainhurst predates Maria, alongside the fact that if we take her boss fight to be Maria "in her prime," inferring that she was also trained in utilising her blood. I'm genuinely curious as to your thoughts on the matter, as I'm currently rethinking my own interpretations and thoughts on the lore of Bloodborne due to both your fic and posts here!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed Litanies! I had a great time writing it.
Tbh this is something I’m thinking about now because I’m writing a Healing Church-era work that touches on the Executioner’s attack on Cainhurst, so in all likelihood this will eventually make its way into a fic. The thing with my writing - which affects my interpretation of lore - is this: I don’t get stuck on particular footnotes or sometimes contradictory points if I want to tell a story. I don’t actively try to break canon, but I always prioritise storytelling over lore. I do my homework, but the last thing I want is for my storytelling to unravel into some kind of gratuitous lore dump without any kind of compelling interpretation, or risk letting the minutiae of lore dictate how well I can weave a narrative (I am also a trained historian, so I can say that some of the hyperspecific lore interpretations I’ve heard make me both laugh and cringe, so I’d rather let actual human history guide some of my lore interpretations, rather than the description of one item. But that’s just me).
For Cainhurst specifically, I am sticking with the idea that the so-called massacre ordered by the Healing Church and carried out by the Executioners happens early in Church history, as a result of the blood ~somehow~ making its way there (via a Byrgenwerth scholar if you are so inclined to take the game at face value, but unreliable sources are one of the fun parts of historical analysis). But that animosity towards Cainhurst is longstanding - as in, 1000-year++ English/French style skirmishing (my interpretation of Cainhurst is heavily inspired by the Norman Conquest).
So for my own narrative purposes, Cainhurst acquires the blood early in the Church timeline (post Fishing Hamlet). But the hatred of Cainhurst folk, the vileness of their blood, so to speak, is a longstanding sentiment of Yharnamites - for outsiders, and especially for a once-powerful nation like Cainhurst who may claim Pthumerian ancestry (and thus potent blood in the eyes of the Great Ones) and have always been a threat to Yharnam’s independence. Vileblood here is just another way for Yharnamites to be aggressively xenophobic to outsiders (in the same way that Central/Northern Europeans, for example, have longstanding hatred of Southern Europeans trying to establish themselves in their countries, and see them as lesser or a threat). The thing that sets off the actual massacre is Cainhurst’s acquisition of the Healing Blood, thus justifying the Church’s holy war/crusade (led by Logarius and the Executioners, who we know are religious fanatics).
Don’t know if that answered your question, but again, I’m pretty liberal with my interpretations and I’m more interested in the Healing Church’s hold on Yharnamite society, their religious propaganda, and how their political need for a scapegoat (some kind of Other) to blame is what eventually tipped the scales into modern open conflict with Cainhurst. Because this is literally out of a history textbook. TLDR thanks for your patronage, here is an old Maria sketch -

Hi, it's the Hermia/Miranda anon again. About the Capp siblings' (or cousins') birth order. Yeah, as you had mentioned, Miranda is placed in Consort's (and Goneril's) memories as the eldest but I think the Albany's memories are strong enough evidence for Miranda being the fourth child as they match the order of creation of Goneril’s branch in-game. I assume, that the developers had tried to cut the loose ends as they were retconning the storyline but they forgot to edit the Albany’s memories as well. As for the evidences of Tybalt being the eldest kid in Goneril’s family – look no further than the 95 Bard Boulevard (N003_Lot128) – if you open that file via WordPad and search for the “N005” word, you can actually see the entire Goneril’s branch + Tybalt’s old info there, meaning that they had occupied that lot before. Also, Tybalt seems to have very specific relationships with his cousins (i.e negative daily relationships towards them) and his so-called uncle Albany (the lifetime relationship towards him is very high (65+) which is higher than towards Consort) for no apparent reason.
It also seems like that they had tried to make Cordelia as the eldest child in the family tree during the retconning but for some reason they either dropped the idea and/or had no time for that. Idk, everything seems to be too convenient to be just a mere coincidence.
Hi again! :D
Yeah, the birth orders in Veronaville are a hot mess because of how contradictory the memories are, especially when matched up with the age bars. Goneril and Consort remember Miranda being born before Hal and Desdemona (which is reflected by their age bars), whereas Albany remembers the opposite (even though he remembers potty training Miranda before Hal's birth). Consort remembers Miranda being his oldest grandchild, followed by Tybalt, then Hermia, with Juliette being the youngest of the teenagers; however, if we were to go by the age bars, then Tybalt would be the oldest, then Juliette, then Hermia, and finally Miranda. Not to mention, there's also Tybalt remembering Cordelia and Caliban dying when he was a toddler, as well as Consort and Goneril's differing accounts as to when Cordelia died in relation to the births of Hal and Ariel.
This problem isn't unique to the Capp family, either, as the ABC Montys also have a few contradictions. Basically, Patrizio remembers Bianca being his oldest child, followed by Antonio, then Claudio. That said, Antonio's age bar lists him as being 18 days away from elderhood, whereas Bianca has 23 days, and Claudio had 23 days before he died. Thankfully, the fifth gen Montys are more coherent in that regard.
Also, the fact that none of the Capps or Montys (both gens 4 and 5) have any memories of their siblings being born doesn't help in narrowing things down, either.
I'm not super familiar with the creation order of Veronaville's premades. Tbh, it's not something I had the means to personally look into until I started playing Sims on a PC a few years ago. Even then, I try not to go into the neighborhood widget too much, as I'm terrified of corrupting my game by accident. That said, I know that Consort was the first sim created (since he's the telescope shover), and I believe Cordelia and Caliban were probably third and fourth, and I have a general idea of when some of the other premades were created in the development timeline. Other than that, however, I'm kind of up shit creek without a paddle. I can definitely see Miranda being added to Goneril's branch later in development, though (which might also partially explain Ariel's existence, since they're from the same play). While it could mean she was intended to be on the younger side, it could also mean that she was always intended to be the oldest, but she was just added to the game later than Hal and Desdemona. On the other hand, Hal and Desdemona might have been intended to be teens who were older than Miranda, but were retconned into children later on.
With Tybalt, I was unaware of that file even existing. That said, it doesn't surprise me, considering how well Tybalt would have fit as Goneril's son on both a programming and referential level. As I mentioned in a previous post, Tybalt's facial features (specifically the angy brows and sunken-in cheekbones) match up very well with both Goneril and Albany. As for the Shakespeare stuff, Tybalt being Goneril's son would have made him Juliette's cousin, which would have more accurately reflected Tybalt and Juliet's familial ties in Romeo & Juliet. I also never paid much attention to his ltr with Albany, but it doesn't surprise me when taking all of this into account (especially since he wouldn't be living with Consort if he was Goneril's kid in the final product). As for his relationships with his cousins, they could be holdovers from earlier in development; however, said relationships also line up with Tybalt's personality (specifically the 2 nice points) and his views on the feud, so they could have just as easily been something the devs always intended.
Wrt Cordelia's place in her generation's birth order, I can see the argument for her being the oldest or the youngest of her siblings. On one hand, her children are all older than Goneril's in the final product. As such, designating her as the oldest would probably be the most palatable option from both a programming and cultural perspective.
On the other hand, Cordelia being the eldest of her siblings is contradictory to Shakespeare canon. In King Lear, Cordelia is younger than both Goneril and Regan, so her being the youngest of that generation's Capp siblings would better reflect her origins. Also, while not related to her original incarnation, Cordelia Capp is Juliette's mother. I find this interesting because Juliet Capulet's mother in Romeo & Juliet had her first child when she was younger than her nearly 14-year-old daughter. While this doesn't point towards Cordelia having Juliette (or Tybalt) that early in life, it definitely raises the possibility that she might have had her children when she was on the younger side.
Finally, given how TS2 is programmed, I think it's safe to say that "oldest" and "firstborn" aren't exactly the same. For example, Goneril could have been the firstborn of her siblings, but if you exclusively played Cordelia's family, then she would become the oldest of the four. In this case, Tybalt, Juliette, and Hermia would all end up closer to adulthood than Miranda, despite the latter being listed as the firstborn teen in Consort's memories. The only times this wouldn't make as much sense would be in cases where two sims live on the same lot (like Juliette and Hermia, though this discrepancy might be a holdover from when Hermia was Regan's daughter).
Tbh, I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about the messy birth orders (particularly the one involving the Lear Capps and ABC Montys), so much so that I have a little series of essays in the works to discuss them, though I've only posted one so far (/shameless plug). As such, I didn't go into much depth here as I otherwise would, and instead just covered some of the basics.
Thanks again for the ask!~
EDIT: I just remembered that Consort wasn't actually the first Veronaville premade to be programmed into the game -- Bottom Summerdream was. I had completely forgotten about this since Consort's the neighborhood's telescope shover; however, this is only the case because Bottom is too young to take on the job. As such, it stands to reason that Consort was the second Veronaville premade created, and therefore the first Capp to be programmed into the game.

Ro, my friend, bestie!!!! Star, galaxy, black hole and moon for the ask game!!! Any of the guys in your life who you are inspired to gush about can answer them!!! :3 (I love asking about Ren SO MUCH but you also have other sweeties and I don't want to neglect them 💖)
( @verykissablepixels )
THANK YOU REFFIEEEEEEEEE!!!!! 🥺💕💕💕 i'll probably still end up answering for ren bc i'm so ren-pilled skdfkjn, but i'll throw in some of the others where i think they fit!!!
Star- Does your F/O do anything to calm you when you're upset?
i think ren would actually encourage me to be outwardly upset more often ;; not in an unhealthy way, but because i don't really express those kinds of things anymore. if something seems like it's upsetting me but i'm not Doing anything with it, he might ask me some questions, probe a bit to see if it's something i REALLY don't want to talk about, and suggest i vent a bit or cry on his shoulder... and once that's done, we'd go fix something to eat and he'd pump me full of electrolyte water LMAO. ;;
(and it's work both ways tbh -- doc!ren has even worse issues with expressing negative emotions than i do, and r!ren expresses them through being bitchy to people who are being bitchy to him ksjdfn, so i'd want to help them vent in healthy ways when they're upset!)
gray's pretty simple with his methods... he's one of the most mature people in wonderland (which isn't saying much tbh, he's just better at it than the others), and since he fills so many job roles while working for nightmare, he knows how to approach people. so he'd sit me down in a quiet room, far from the hustle and bustle of the busy areas of clover tower, and ask what's wrong. he'd let me get it all out, politely interjecting where need be, and then once i'm done he'd suggest that he could make hot drinks for us (to which i'd have to reply that I'D make them kjsnfjkn, i don't trust him to boil water let alone mix ingredients ;;;). and if it turned out that my issue was due to someone being threatening or violent, he would... take care of the issue later... :)
oushirou's a silly guy, but he has a very serious side as well. he'd sit with me, encourage me to let things out, hold my hand, and maybe help problem solve a bit. he likes to keep up a daily stream of communication when possible, so if he got Vibes from an earlier chat, he might let me vent when he gets back home and then be like, "btw i picked up dessert for us on the way back for no particular reason whatsoever, so look forward to that!" he knows i know it WAS for a particular reason, and he lets me huff at him for being frustratingly good at picking up on things i try not to let others see. and while he isn't as retaliatory as gray, if i was upset at something a stranger said / did to me while out and about, he might play bodyguard for a while juuust in case i need someone with a strong kick with me ;;;
mars is quieter in his approach. he'd cuddle up and ask if something was wrong -- they know if it's something important enough to me that i'll let it out with a little prodding. he'd just hold me as i vent, and when i'm done, they'd thank me for feeling like i can trust him. and then we'd just... "move on" -- once the emotions are out it's better to focus on something emotionally fulfilling! he's like a more immediately open oushirou -- it wouldn't take much time for them to feel close enough to pick up on those things and know how to help me deal with them in the moment and after, and like oushirou, they generally know when to play it cool around violent people, when to be threatening, and when to actually make good on those threats.
Galaxy- What do you and your F/O do when one of you is homesick?
both rens have complicated feelings about their family homes, feeling a weird mix of nostalgia and disgust. by the end of his whole story, doc!ren ends up not being able to go back At All, Literally Cannot, so sometimes he has that contradictory, "well now that i CAN'T, a part of me wants to go back after all......" feeling. I think in his case, the only thing we can do is just be together for however long he needs, doing things that remind him of the better moments back there in a, "there are still things from there that you have here," sense.
and this particular s/i's brand of homesickness is like a low, constant, simmering feeling of homesickness they've long adjusted to... poorly adjusted, but adjusted nonetheless hhhh. just being around doc!ren helps to soothe those feelings, and as the relationship continues they start to disappear. "i have a new home now, and it's you," vibes.
r!ren's a bit easier KJNDKJN. he misses visiting his grandparents, who he's closer to than doc!ren is. we'd end up sitting somewhere cozy, and he'd either call or video chat with them and we'd all talk together. i'd start learning french to bridge the gap a bit, but ren would still translate when needed. talking to and spending time with the people he loves helps a ton on its own (he does want to take me to visit them in person at some point though hehe).
this verse is fairly close to reality, aka i live with family, so no homesickness for me lmao.
oushirou is less homesick than one would think -- yeah he's constantly traveling, but it's the one thing he's always known he wanted to do, enough to completely cut contact with his disapproving parents over it. he'd still miss the winter crew and me, and would visit whenever he could, but i'd say it's less like homesickness and more like... if they and i could travel with him, he'd never feel the desire to return home. traveling IS his home. we do, however, having some matching clothes and items so that, when he can't visit for a while or if he loses service and can't call / text, we can still feel connected!
also living at home here so no homesickness for me, but i do miss oushirou dearly, which makes it all the more important to him that we make the most of every possible moment together when he has the opportunity to visit!!
gray doesn't have any homesickness. he's pretty much like everyone in wonderland (except ace) in that regard. -I-, however, do feel some homesickness in spite of myself, and this sends gray in to a quiet panic. in his mind, i'm homesick -> i want to go back home -> i'm going to leave wonderland and never be able to return. so despite knowing how manipulative it is, he constantly takes me out on dates (platonic or romantic) to places he KNOWS i'll adore. wonderful restaurants, art supply shops, spots on the roads between locations that he thinks i might want to draw, doing physical activities that i can't manage back home... he wants to show me that wonderland is better than anything i had going on before. he'd freely admit to all of this if i called him out on it or if it seemed like it was making things worse, but despite his mature exterior he really is just as willing to sweep details under the rug as any other wonderland resident if it means keeping someone he cares about nearby.
Black Hole- Have you ever had a strange dream about your F/O?
all of my oc f/os have been sourced from strange dreams tbh so i won't even go into them lJSNIFLN, their stories are really just edited versions of my initial dreams about them.
i have Fucking Weird dreams about oushirou all the time though. it's mostly things like "i found a secondhand shop for doujin, and there's SO MUCH OUSHIROU DOUJIN I'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE!!! I HAVE TO BUY IT ALL!!!!"... but also absolutely unhinged shit, like one where we met at a library we were sheltering in and, over the course of a couple of days, fell in love, he was bitten by an animal and developed RABIES????, we decided to get married before he was too far gone, and then i became a widow. so. KJNAKJN.
and i won't go too far into details bc i said i wouldn't, but mars was technically created from an oushirou dream set in a zombie apocalypse. he was a test subject to see if zombies could be "brought back", and i was brought in as like... an impromptu chat buddy to help with socialization. scientific overreach etc etc the arrogance of man etc etc. years later i rewrote it to make more logical sense, made that oushirou into my oc, and used the whole thing to work through chronic illness feelings (yay yippee love to dump my issues on my ocs weehee)!
i've also had some very weird ones with raven, like when he and rita slipped through spacetime into this world, and we met by chance and all bonded pretty quickly. or when he was an... instructor? at some kind of summer camp for adults?? and while it didn't seem like i stood out to him much at first, he actually stuck up for me at one point and kept wanting to connect after that. idk, weird things with no real rhyme or reason but that don't even come CLOSE to the weirdness of the oushirou dreams lol.
Moon- What's something your F/O does that never fails to make you happy?
being cute hehe 💕
doc!ren: he's very good at sussing out things that someone would ENJOY doing but may not have a reason to go out of their way to do, so he helps me get out of my comfort zone safely and understands if/when i hit my energy limit. i also love when he feels he trusts me enough to release "you will regret this" levels of infodump on me KJNFKJN, it's so cute and sweet and his enthusiasm is contagious.
r!ren: my LORD is he good at making me feel special!! and with his personality, it's clear it isn't just a matter of niceties or being a flirt. i feel so happy every time i can see how genuine he his, how far he's willing to go just to provide comfort, how he wants to be around me just as much as, if not more than, i do. how, if i have to cancel a date bc of a flare-up, he'll immediately come over with a care package filled with healthy (and secret not-so-healthy 🤫) goodies to keep me going for a day or two. 🥺
oushirou: genuinely just... his everything. but in particular, his over-the-top silly antics really get me. he'll make mundane things sooo dramatic just for the sillies + the joy it brings to others. he has great emotional intelligence and puts his ALL into helping those around him feel better. (also i know vaguely-horny does not equal happy.... but he sure does make me happy when he canonically KICKS THROUGH DOORS ksndfkjn like helloooooo?? sir??? 😳 that one scene has made me so Not Normal for the past 11 years....)
mars: something as simple as holding their hand. we're both very protective of each other -- we kind of have to be, given our situation -- so they often provide a sense of comfort. whether we're just sitting and reading together, or we're doing some activity to stimulate his cognitive function, or we simply cuddle in his holding chamber, they emanate a strong sense of safety, and i can really feel it through his light hand touches and rubbing the back of my hand with their thumb. and in a world that's gone to shit, that simple, caring touch means so much.
gray: OOOOOH his gap moe mode kjsndfkjn. after the serious answers, i get to the serious character and my answer is just "when he goes googoo gaga over anything soft and fluffy." he's so cute in jnkna when he's fishing on a frozen lake and a little seal becomes his companion 😭 and he names it after alice and puts a little alice bow on it 😭😭 he even gets cute when peter turns into his rabbit form -- as peter yells and scratches and curses at everyone, gray's still like 😳 bnnuy.... 💕💕💕💕💕
raven: when he's being a little drama queen ksjndfjn. i think there's plenty of room for quiet, serious talks that end with us feeling happy with our situation, but nothing beats when he's teasing karol or being a little silly guy! just a little 5'7 guy!! and it's his birthday!!!!! etc ksjdnk. his skits always crack me up, bc more often than not he's so unhinged for NO REASON! he's just LIKE THAT!! and yet he still thinks "raven" is a mask. nah man. you are all of your masks, the masks were always part of you, and that means part of you is a silly little trickster and Local Weirdo (tm).
#i'm so sorry this took so long to answer. i've been in brain hell so i rewrote multiple answers multiple times ;;;;#BUT IT'S DONE NOW and it feels nice to have a bunch of this stuff written down somewhere for reference 👍🏻#[ asks. ]#📌 [ my posts. ]#🦦 [ can't escape it. ]#🍄 [ lying on the blade of an emotion. ]#📷 [ phantom hearts. ]#🦎 [ chasing starlight. ]#☣️ [ good in red. ]#🐐 [ been up all night. ]#🏹 [ purple eyes. ]#✨ [ oc lore. ]#⭐ [ canon lore. ]#[ need to draw. ]#🧃 [ who is in control. ]#[ oomfies ; reffie. ]#🐸 [ look ahead. ]

Kaleb Cross comes home to you in the middle of the night after completing a job and wakes you up for his needs.
Kaleb Cross/Gender Neutral Reader. Explicit. PWP, throatfucking and more.
Extensive notes and ramblings below.
Haha. Looking through all the Kaleb Cross art while really sleepy and I'm like yeah let's use my limited brain power to write something extremely horny. No regrets tbh👍
What with being a PWP and very trying to be gender neutral, I couldn't insert much in here, but I have thought long and hard, a lot of times, about how Revrev was like before he was uploaded into a bot.
Idk but there's two lines that give us a glimpse into how he was before "he used to need a reason to kill, but now he's not that man anymore" regarding Revenant and "Kaleb Cross has no morals" so they are kinda contradictory but I'm trying to wrap my head around it
IMO I think as a human "he needs a reason" is just... "Hammond said the guy should pay" is a reason enough (and as Rev he just kills indiscriminately if/when he can). I also feel like he's sadistic with adults but the kids of his targets he offs quick and painless, sparing them the anguish of having their life flipped upside down, also it just reduces revenge-plots on him down the line (Loba lmao) considering he was rather old for a hitman (44?!?!?! old man) I do really believe he excelled in his job in all manner of aspects. I imagine he'd do stuff like social engineering (ding dong hello it's ur cable guy) and thus would be a rather well-rounded individual capable of a range of human emotion.
That's a long-winded way to say I do imagine Kaleb Cross kept some manner of relationships with others, probably a lover, or a bunch of them even. I don't think he'd commit to one and if it were only just one it wouldn't be sunshine and roses. Sex would be amazeballs, but he'd be toxic in all the other ways. I hc in this he doesn't remove his clothes during sex, especially when he's in his handsome hitman gear (the suit) kinda like his equivalent of a leather dom gear lmao but it's mostly a demonstration and immersion of himself in his element of power. That's how I imagined him here in this fic, he just completed a kill and he's sooo on top of the world and he's full of horny. Suit's on, dick's out.
In the Revtane fic I imply he did have a relationship too, and when I was writing this I imagine the "reader" and the relationship he had bittersweet memories of are the same. I always imagine if he were to have a relationship that the person would definitely know he's a hitman, would also be a part of the syndicate in a way or another (therefore somehow Outlands upperclass with a significant backing/power) and be familiar with the kind of sociopathy it takes to be on top. So, def it's a toxic relationship on both sides, but it somehow works. There's love there I GUESS but it's not a normal, domestic bliss kinda love... also yes I do really think he's gay af (even if a femme person dressed him he wouldn't look like that I s2g) but for delulu purposes I made it gender neutral
Anyway yes all that for a 1.7k word fic haha. I have so many ideas for the revtane fic I'm writing but I'm letting that one stew even more.

okay so your tag ramble on the tulin great eagle bow/revali's absence post was really interesting and I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on that tbh (like, you have the time/inclination of course!)
(for posterity: this is re: my tags on this post)
Thanks for actually asking me!! I'll just rewrite the gist of the tags that got cut, but in a more legible format.
I was talking about not liking that Tulin is descended from the original sage of wind, which, I understand why it's like that, but I dislike it. It feels 1) contradictory to the theme of the Rito "chosen one" being first and foremost a good warrior rather than the leader of their people and of their power being acquired rather than inherited (which is not bad, I liked what Yunobo had going on with struggling to live up to great grandpa Daruk, I just also liked seeing different stories with the different characters) and also 2) since Tulin's power is so similar to Revali, it kind of implies to me that Revali's power was lesser (and by extension the champions were less important than the sages as a group) ? In general this game feels like the story is bigger and more important than BotW's, and it comes out as replacing rather than supplementing it sometimes to me.
Plus, when the sage of wind said that Tulin was his descendant, it didn't feel like they were just tiptoeing around Revali, it felt like they were ignoring him completely. You can assume the lightning, fire and water powers were hereditary all along and the champions just showed them in their own different way, but for the Ritos it doesn't work, and it gives me vibes of discarding a plotpoint you mentioned in an earlier chapter because you realised halfway through that it wasn't relevant to the story you wanted to tell. Plus I don't like unnecessary familial ties when it would've worked fine without them.
I mentioned Revali making me think of Satine in one of the tags, which could be obscure if you're not also obsessed with the same guys as me, so I'll explain. Warning, I'm going to be a Star Wars nerd for the rest of the paragraph, but for real it did give me pause. Duchess Satine Kryze of Mandalore is a character introduced in a side show to be Obi-Wan's love interest (which is why she's named that). She's the pacifist leader of her people, but they have a history & culture of war and violence, so she struggles with that a fair bit. She dies because an old enemy of Obi-Wan wants to get to him by killing his love interest, and encourages unrest on her planet. In The Mandalorian's latest season, her sister Bo-Katan becomes an important character, and her arc is apparently (I'm not done with it so I'm basing this on what I've seen on here, ie all the important scenes giffed) about becoming the leader of her people and turning her back to her violent past. She does the thing her sister did decades ago, her sister who died in part because of her, her sister whom she disagreed with on pacifism, and not once is Satine's name said once in S3. There is a Satine shaped hole in that thing, it's all about her, she was the one trying to bring peace to her planet 30 years ago, but people didn't like her character much so she is ignored when it makes absolutely no sense to ignore her.
Okay I'm done with SW now but you see what I meant? There is a them shaped hole in a narrative that should by all means include them! The way they handled Mipha wasn't ideal but they could have given the same treatment to the other champions! The way they really wanted to separate TotK from BotW in terms of story doesn't work because it doesn't feel like you're really coming back to the same place. They couldn't have known if you'd already met the characters, but honestly I think it couldn't have hurt to have more mentions of what happened about 5-6 years ago in universe. Riju doesn't mention her dead mom or feeling like she lives up to Lady Urbosa now, Yunobo isn't even going to talk about Daruk when it would be a cool thing to have the old boss compliment his personal growth that way, and it would have been so easy to have Teba do that too, go "you showed the same prowess as Revali, the warrior of old, you're worthy of wielding his bow"!
It would have been easy and it wouldn't have stuck out if they'd mentioned it more! If people still made casual references to these old figures, to the warriors who fought Ganon the first time! It could have been a neat piece of background lore, the way the stone tablets of Zora's domain were in BotW!
Plus nobody says anything but the divine beasts were modelled after the sage's masks then?? Because the fact they reused the design means there IS a connection right??? I'm going crazy, that was a great opportunity to mention the divine beasts and the legacy of the sages and tie it all into the tapestry of this Hyrule's history! But no. The guy who wants to see a big horse can come back but Link's fellow champions aren't cool enough I guess. Same issue with the towers & Sheikah tech. I don't know why they did it that way, I suppose it was a way to delineate which game is which and create stronger boundaries?
My last grievance was extremely petty and not serious at all, it's just that when I saw Teba giving Tulin the bow my Link always kept on him I kind of lost my mind lol. Like the 28x3 easy to draw bow with a cool design and lore did not leave my inventory, you best believe that. I won't nitpick that Link lost his whole inventory to the point that his childhood BFF's cultural equivalent to a wedding ring went all the way back to Zora's domain, but I was kind of peeved haha. Like that is MY bow give it back if you're not even going to mention Revali's name!!
Anyway this was me losing my mind over a game I really really love! Thanks again for giving me an opportunity to ramble I love doing it.
#i've seen people assume that satine got forgotten in the mandalorian because the fans didn't respond well to her#which would make sense for sw & filoni & favreau & disney#but i don't see nintendo obsessively scouring english forums to see what people think of their characters#so it can't have been that#i just..... i loved the champions so much.... and they're barely there....#a rito npc mentions vah medoh too! where is she then!! where's the bird!!!!#wow i have a ramble tag now#wow i have an asks tag now

tbh i adore the ezio games (i started with 2 bc my ass was not playing ac one it did not have subtitles and i couldn't be assed. sayonara altair) but like. i love the fantasy elements but i do rlly wish they stuck more with the like. historical elements???
but yeah no fr the syndicate modern-day stuff was just shaun and rebecca fucking around. i do miss it being like. real ppl tho. do u know how excited i get when i read a wikipedia page and go "omg i recognize that name from my silly assassin games!" like girl. i miss that !!! i miss desmond tho he was my meow meow. wet cat of a guy.
ac my beloved tbh. like don't get me wrong i have fun with the modern games but it really just feels like they're attaching the AC name to just get more attention/revenue/cash in on old fans going "well, it's an AC game..." and tbh i feel like ac has so much lore and stuff that it just gets contradictory and stops making sense. and like you said it feels way more fantasy these days. in some aspects that's fun, but in many it's like... is this rlly ac anymore?
anyway yeah i think you can divide AC into "old ac" and "new ac" and old ac superiority despite my love of like 1 of the newer games
No, but really. The real people, real events was a huge appeal to me. They had Niccolò Machiavelli implying Il Principe was about Ezio. They explained the "why the fuck was Robespierre's jaw shot off" with Elise being a bad bitch and responding to "I'm never telling" with "[gunshot] then write". You had a teenage Suleiman the Magnificent in Revelations. It was just fun to go "hey, there's this historical event that has some confusion surrounding it, you know what would be super fun? Secret societies."
And I love fantasy!!! But AC is not a fantasy game to me :< if they made a new IP, it'd be proper, I'd love to play, but this way it just seems like they're only muddling the established lore with what would otherwise probably be a very fun and interesting new world. It's definitely for the marketability </3
#i also started with 2!!!! my brother borrowed it from a friend and taught me how to play :)#home in florence is my n1 nostalgia inducing song#by which i mean it sometimes makes me physically ill HDHDNDNDN#but no it's my beloved really i love 2 so much#it was also fun to play with the italian dub :]#asks

I've been playing Persona 5 and have thoughts on some characters.
Futaba: Best girl, I love her. She's a nerd who hacks and is a genius. She's absolutely not neurotypical by any sense and is refreshing compared to a lot of the other characters. I would let her infodump for hours on end only stopping her to make sure she has enough to drink. Like, I love her so much I can't think of why, it's just everything about her.
Ann: "Oh I can date you? Sure." There's such a push in the game to make her seem like a bimbo, but the thing is you can't make a bimbo stereotype with any depth because that takes away the entire objectification of it all. You also have to try and make a blond preppy girl into an outcast somehow. This makes Ann almost contradictory in your interactions with her, going from super depressed to cheery. Sharing an emotional defining scar one moment and getting pumped up and cheery in another. I think why I really liked her though is her positivity. This game has fucked up shit going on and she's rightfully pissed but stays upbeat through a lot of it.
Ryuji: Would've dated him if given the option tbh. You meet him in the beginning and he's your first friend. He's also neurodivergent and I'm sticking ADHD to him. He can't focus in class and it fucks with his grades and he's called stupid for being out of the loop. I relate too much to that.
Soijiro: "Stick to the rules... okay nevermind" genuinely makes me emotional in his treatment of Futaba and Joker. He's such a good dad and if everyone had one as good as him the world would be a better place.
Joker: Don't know why I put him at the top of A tier. I like his smug face and character design.
Maruki: "You probably don't want to listen to a weird middle aged man talk about his research" actually I do. I do that shit in my free time.
-We're skipping the not strong opinions-
Makoto: Wanted Futaba to act more normally and the game forces you to go along. I want the gremlin to stay that way thanks.
Mishima: I don't care if I could tolerate the last part of your story line the rest of it I learned to hit fast forward for. I'm so glad you're not on the team.
Morgana: I can't hit fast forward for you. You led us directly into a trap that almost got Joker killed because you realized you weren't hot shit. You don't shut up. You keep insulting my boy Ryuji. You keep getting horny for anything in your general vicinity, and you're a cat. Even the picture used for your speech bubble pisses me off. I never thought a video game character would make me so pissed off.

hey, i've gotten curious about destiny from your posts, would you mind telling me a little about it? I find asking people personally about video games is a lot better gauge to my enjoyment than trying to read a terrible article about them
hey! well I’m really terrible at these kinds of things, so bear with me.
but basically, destiny is a mmo-lite science fantasy shooter. the game orients around shooting shit and gearing your guardian while surrounded by other people. if you’re not into shooters (this is a really fun one, though! with some space magic!) or grinding for loot, you’re probably not going to enjoy destiny or you’re going to get bored of it quick. on the mmo-lite part, you don’t ever have to deal with those other people, but end game content skews pretty heavily towards multiplayer (strikes/dungeons, raids, localised public events, and crucible/pvp). but if you are into mmos, please don’t go into destiny thinking it’ll be wow, guild wars, or even swtor, because it’s just... not. these games have a million different things to do but destiny is very much limited to shoot-n-loot.
I love the game because the shooting elements are enjoyable and i’ve been investing in the gear progression for three guardians (one of each class) which appeals to my rpg-loving demand for micromanaging (to a really limited extent, though) and incremental progression and my deep, unwavering love for The Aesthetic. it’s visually spectacular, the characters are fantastic (even if I wish bungie would do a little more with them), and, despite the fact that bungie absolutely SUCKS with how they tell it, the lore the game is built upon is actually really amazing. the main storyline still isn’t anything special tbh, but it’s better than d1′s mess at least.
but, at the same time, I feel like destiny is typically hit and miss depending on what you’re looking for at the time you get it. if you’re looking for an in-depth narrative experience, it’s probably not going to satisfy you. if you’re looking for a project, enjoy shooter game mechanics, and are willing to entirely headcanon your own character and story (which tbh I find way funner than trying to mesh my guardians entirely to the storyline), then maybe give it a try?
#i literally have no idea if this was remotely helpful#i'm so contradictory about this game tbh#like i love it and i've been playing it for WEEKS now#but it's also kind of... empty in a lot of ways#i would kill for bungie to add some more single player stuff#some fucking CRAFTING or more long ass weapons/armour missions?#please???#eatmystardustloser

Sans Undertale.
the funny one. blue guy. skeleton dude. if u please
favorite thing about them: god how to choose. i love how contradictory he is. i love how much he blends into the background and has a net zero relevance on the game's story, and yet he sticks out like a sore thumb, both thematically and tonally. the judgement spiel makes him the direct deliverer of a core game mechanic, and yet he's... such an outsider about it. i love how morally grey he is. a resonance hybrid between a painfully selfless good man and a self serving bastard. he's the depressed nihilistic man. he is his girlfriend's manic pixie dream girl. he is just some guy. he is the last barrier against universal annihilation. he serves cunt (but only once). he parallels flowey in his refusal to engage the narrative, but whereas the narrative starts orbiting flowey instead, sans condems himself as the audience to the player's actions. #finalgirl. also it's still a theory, but if the otherworld stuff is ever confirmed ingame that will make him the most video game character of all fucking time. hands down. no competitors.
least favorite thing about them: every morning i wake up and i stare in the mirror and i ask myself "do i wanna fuck sans undertale??" and i hesitate. and well i could do without that kind of pressure
favorite line: "that's a promise" "besides. chances are... i've already tried to steer you in the right direction. so what can i say? what can i say that will change the mind of a being like you...?"
brOTP: i like whatever he and grillby got going on. that barman/regular comradery, the mood of the bar late at night and being the only client left. the silent vulnerability of it. it's all hypothetical since grillby doesn't really Have much of a presence in the game, but they obviously get along well. alphys too, what a pair of nerds. oh my god i didn't mention papyrus. oh well, they don't feel like a brotp tbh, it's like. they're halves of the same coin. sans inevitably implies papyrus in my mind, and vice versa. do NOT separate them.
OTP: do you have to fucking ask
nOTO: you know people usually put stuff like incest or age gap ships here because they make them understandably uncomfortable, but if there's a ""ship"" that i violently HATE re:sans it's. whenever they make him and toriel a mother-son dynamic. i am not talking about platonic or qpr soriel, i love those as well, they are besties first and lovers maybe, i mean SPECIFICALLY the take that she's his mother. no the fuck she's not. infantilization of sans and mommyification of toriel aside, that's the entire point of their friendship she is NOT his mother. they're on the same level, he is literally the first person she's gone eye to eye with as an equal in her centuries of isolation and THAT is what helps her snap out of her cycle. she is not his superior, he is not her protège. it grosses me out so much.
random headcanon: half decent singer, but hates to sing in public unless he's being a clown on purpose. used to sing papyrus to sleep as a baby. that's a pretty standard hc though, uhhhh.... he hates drinking. though he's surprisingly knowledgeable about corks, for some reason.
unpopular opinion: abby i'm so sorry i know u like it & i 🤝 about it in some cases ex: specific fics we both like, but he does NOT canonically have 1HP outside of a genocide battle. and i'd really appreciate it if people stopped pushing that hc on everyone else.
song i associate with them: Pinch me by the Barenaked Ladies, and If I Ever Feel Better by Phoenix. helplessness but silly and helplessness but funky. v sans songs
favorite picture of them:
heart eyes motherfucker
#gonna finish a couple of these before i do the fanfic idea one#answered asks#undertale#sans#mtt game show

saw a post how new dragon age players shouldn't have started with Inquisition and should have started from the beginning, but bioware also wanted to make Inquisition accessible to newcomers, so they did weird writing shit and retconned lore while also retroactively decided to explain everything to the Inquisitor in game (and in turn have the weirdest most contradictory writing for if you play as Lavellan) but like..... okay as a new player who started with Inquisition, yeah mayhaps I should have started with DAO and DA2, but this game series has so much to immerse myself in and I'm probably lucky that two of my close friends have played all the games previously so they've been explaining things to me and I don't really engage with larger fandom anymore lol but like ???? it's so fun, actually, to talk about how in a lot of parts of the writing, things just don't make sense. and a lot of the narrative choices and decisions are weird! and almost punishing! especially if you play as Lavellan who is more or less punished for being a proud Dalish (a conversation for another day smh)! if anything, this only motivated me to get the rest of the games during the steam sale recently so once I play through those I'll likely carry over the world state in a new Inquisiton save sometime soon and yeah! get more immersed that way into the series tbh
I don't have an overarching point in this post tbh I just think it's fascinating the different perspectives you gain about the series depending on where you start and if you do actually decide to engage with the full series at large
#mari speaks#i guess it also helps that I bought one of the books and intend to buy more#and i love talking to my DA friends about the series#said friends openly accepted both me and my gf for starting with Inquisiton first too lol#and playing all the games while da4 develops makes me excited to see what's next and how the writers will approach newcomers#hopefully better this time than inquisition

If you could have any job you wish what would it be? Gods, I don't even know. Growing up I wanted to be an architect, then a soldier, then a cop/detective. I'd like to think I'd want to be an author, but I am like,. way too insecure for that. And I'm pretty content with my current position and what I do, I just wish corpo season wasn't murdering me.
Something you're good at: plead the 5th
Something you're bad at: better not to answer
Something you excel at: better for me not to answer Something you love: It's going to sound very contradictory, but writing. Even when it's awful, I love being able to jam sentences together in a way that itches my brain good. Something you could talk about for hours without off the cuff: I could talk your ear off about work. Or star wars timelines and worldbuilding tbh. Something you hate: objectively, Redbull <3 set the entire energy door you fuckerrrrr we are fighting for our lives out hereee!!!! (and to the redbull guys that do, I am giving you a lil kiss, you are a godsend in a 10 door vault set) Something you collect: lightsabers, funko pops, legos, 3d printer parts, action figures.... candles
Something you forget: I literallt forgot what I was doing 15 minutes ago.
What's your love language?: I think it could be touch? But also I've convinced myself I'm too gross to touch, so only when I'm drunk. Ig I've just adapted to it being acts of service these days, even though acts of service make me feel like shit (thinking about what I'm writing, should go to therapy)
Favorite movie/show: rn? Silo, sm
Favorite food: safe foods change every few weeks, right now I don't have one so I can't pick
Favorite animal: Giraffes!!!!
Are you musical?: when I'm alone? absolutely
Favorite subject in school: Anything to do with science, all of it!!!
Least favorite subject: art. teachers were chill, it just didn't vibe with me
What's your best character trait?: Swinging god complex
Worst character trait: Swinging inferiority complex
If you could change any detail of your day right now, what would it be? mmm I wish it had more time in it
If you could travel in time, who would you like to meet? Little me, tbh. 7/8 yr old me, she's gotta know shit's not gonna always suck.

What's the origin of your blog's title?
Cayde-6 is my favorite Destiny character (shocking,I know) and so I just meshed the acronym Bae (Before Anyone Else) and Cayde's name together.
Favorite Fandoms:
Cracks knuckles In no particular order: Destiny,(Old School) Disney,(mostly old school)Star Wars (The Mandalorian was fantastic),Elder Scrolls,Tolkien,Firefly, Baldur's Gate 3,Fable,Witcher,Dragon Age,Marvel,Batman,The Mummy,Indiana Jones,Mass Effect,Once Upon a Time,The Legend of Zelda,Back to the Future and almost anything involving Dragons. I really like dragons.
OTP(S) + shipname:
Dang,do we still do ship names?
Captain Swan from Once Upon a Time.
SHAKARIAN (Shepard and Garrus Vakarian otp,Mass Effect "No Shepard without Vakarian".)
Alistair and the Grey Warden (Dragon Age Origins, not sure what the ship name is)
FenHawke (Fenris/Hawke Dragon Age II)
Trevelyan and Cullen (Dragon Age Inquisition)
And every single oc I have with their respective partners. I don't really have ship names for any of them though, and even though my Hunter is probably my most fleshed out oc that I have,it's not like she has a fanbase that can name the ship(s) for me. 😂
(Tae+Cayde?Taelia + Crow? Idk don't judge me, I've never thought that hard about it.Taelia and Crow are both pretty bird themed though... I'm going to have to think about this now aren't I...?)
Favorite Color:
Blue,Pink,Purple,and Green.
(I know it says "color" as in a singular color, but I do what I want.)
Favorite Game: I've played Skyrim a ridiculous amount of times so probably Skyrim or Ocarina of Time.
Song stuck in your head:Mr.Brightside is usually a safe bet. That song lives rent free in my head for some reason.
(Higher Ground by Imagine Dragons is also in there a lot.)
Weirdest habit/trait:I'll do random impressions/accents sometimes. My friends seem to enjoy it though so that's all that matters to me. Sometimes they join in.❤️
Hobbies:Playing videogames with friends, reading, singing, watching movies. I used to paint and sketch, but I don't really do that anymore...I really should because I miss it,even if it's just for me.
If you could have any job you wish what would it be?
Something that makes me happy. Something involving art of some kind/where I have a creative outlet.✨
Something you're good at:
Being humble.✨
Something you're bad at:
Opening up to people about stuff that actually matters. Letting myself be vulnerable. So if I've let myself be vulnerable, even just a little around you, congratulations, you somehow started to break the surface of my nearly impenetrable emotional walls, keep chipping away and maybe you'll get somewhere one day. 👈👈😎
Something you excel at:
Making people laugh and being a good friend. It might not mean much to other people, but I'm proud of that. I know I'm the friend that I would want even though it's not always reciprocated/taken for granted by my friends.
Something you love:
Making people laugh.
Something you could talk about for hours without off the cuff:
(See fandoms above.)
Something you hate:I don't really hate anything...wait...this is ridiculously specific, but Tanlorin's hair in ESO. I can't with that stupid hair. I hate it with a burning passion. It's too modern for me for a High fantasy mmorpg.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
That and when guys act like girls can't/don't know how to play videogames I've had guys literally try to "teach" me things about games I've been playing longer than them. They also knew this when they asked.
I once had a guy ask me if I wanted him to walk me through the entirety (and I do mean the entirety) of BG3 (Hi! Hello! Regular honor mode player here.👋✨) and one asked me if I knew Skyrim had mods and if I knew how to install them. (This was after I told him how I had been playing Skyrim,at the time, for 5+ years.)
Something you collect: Nerd merch. I have a lot of Loki related items and different Funko pops. I also have a Ghost replica that lights up (not to mention a lot of nerd shirts/sweatshirts including a Cayde-6 one.)
Something you forget:
I'm not really sure. If I forget anything I must have forgotten it. 😉
(I have a good memory. So not much tbh.)
What's your love language?: Probably all, if we're being honest.
Favorite movie/show:
Movie:The Lion King (the original, not the cgi one)
Show:I've watched both Once Upon a Time and Firefly a ridiculous amount of times. Like...I know the dialogue as I'm watching it ridiculous (At least the first season of Once,I didn't memorize all of the seasons 😂).
Favorite food: Probably pizza? 🍕
Favorite animal:I really like Lions,Tigers and Wolves. Owls are my favorite bird.
Are you musical?: I was a theater kid growing up.I was in musicals and talent shows. I sing still. In school I played piano, drums, steel drums, trombone and guitar. Now I mostly use those talents as a bard in RP/videogames.😅 (A friend of mine and I recently watched the d&d movie and when the bard appeared she pointed at the screen and said "It's you!")
Favorite subject in school:English and music both have my heart.❤️
Least favorite subject:Math.
What's your best character trait?: I'm kind and just a really caring, loving person.
Worst character trait: That kindness does not extend to myself most of the time.
If you could change any detail of your day right now, what would it be?
A portal would open to one of my favorite fictional worlds near me.
If you could travel in time, who would you like to meet?
David Bowie,Robin Williams,Bob Ross,Steve Irwin,or for completely unrelated reasons,as of this post,Nathan Fillion about 20 years ago.👀
Recommend one of your favorite fanfics:
I don't really read fanfics that often. My friends send me a lot of their oc lore (one time a friend sent me 34 pages worth),so that.I love reading about my friend's OC's. As always,if anyone has recommendations, feel free to let me know.
I also have writer mutuals on here and I read their stories when I can.❤️
@imonthemoonitsmadeofcheese and @nova-rosa
I think I got all of the questions. I had to copy/paste them individually so I might have missed a couple,if I did,I apologize,it was late when I started doing these. 👀
