I was tagged by @kmlaney and I'm ready to be in the hot seat!
1) Are you named after anyone?
Unfortunately, no. My mother picked my name out of a baby book. Just flippin through and was like, "That one!" Clearly, I didn't agree which is why I changed my name (kidding, kidding I changed my name for other reasons).
2) When was the last time you cried?
Doctor and I were having sex. I got really overwhelmed with how good it felt and how much I loved him. And then it got all mushy so we had to hold each other.
3) Do you have kids?
Nope!
4) What sports do you play/have you played?
I feel like I've played a lot between phys ed and college intramural teams. I enjoy having a good time and keeping everything very low stakes and seriousness. I'm not competitive so if others are, it's not a good time for me. Am I good? Eh. I'm good at being supportive. I would not describe myself as having exceptional physical prowess in any arena.
5) Do you use sarcasm?
Sometimes. It's typically when I and someone I'm close to are being mean to one another in a joking manner. As I've gotten older I've realized I'm not good at trying to match tone and meaning. It's way easier for me to just be straight forward. Helps the ol brain out.
6. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
I serve alcohol so I've noticed that I try to figure out someone's age first. It's something I've developed in the last few years. Then other identifying markers like glasses, tattoos, piercings, interesting noses. But typically, I find myself noticing relative age first (usually just trying to gauge whether someone is under or over 40)
7. What’s your eye colour?
like just some light color? Grayish is usually the consensus
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
False dichotomy. Doesn't consider scary movies that have happy endings.
9. Any talents?
My superpower is sleeping. I can sleep anywhere, anytime. I'm asleep as I type this.
10. Where were you born?
Louisiana, United States
11. What are your hobbies?
Reading, writing, making art, watching movies, going on walks, drinking coffee, conversing with cool people
12. Do you have any pets?
Two cats (Sally, 16, and Charlie, 10).
One bird (y'all might be familiar with Clarice, the European starling as she graces my blog quite often)
13. How tall are you?
5'8" or 5'9" I
14. Favourite subject in school?
I was a dumb smart kid who liked everything (but pe)
15. Dream job?
A job where I'm left alone, am just given tasks, I go to people when I need feedback or information, and I am just given lots of freedom with my own space.

Are you offended by this goth representation?
absolutely not. as a 90s goth I also do not want Steve Sanders, it is a mutual feeling
I’m like allergic to blond men and ginger men. Men should have black/brown hair hit post. Women can have any color of hair and look lovely.

i think we need collective nouns for adventuring classes. i'm suggesting a chorus of bards and an oath of paladins
#danger thighs#bringing this back because i think it'll get more play in a post-baldur's gate 3 world lmao

any urban fantasy rpgs with multiple races that isn't powered by the apocalypse?
The first thing I thought of (though you probably already know about it) is Shadowrun. Cyberpunk fantasy races do crimes in a dystopian future. It's been around for a while, there are plenty of editions.
A game I recently read through is Powerchords, which is designed to be adapted to any system (though I believe it was originally written for Deliria: Faerie Tales for a New Millennium). It's about playing members of a rock band, who may or may not be human- you could be an angel country music singer backed by the powers of both heaven and hell or a fae EDM DJ shooting off spells with each song choice. The book is super fun, too, going into detail about music genres and what makes a band work.

Do they still lose their stone sense, being out-of-doors for so long?

hey, i've gotten curious about destiny from your posts, would you mind telling me a little about it? I find asking people personally about video games is a lot better gauge to my enjoyment than trying to read a terrible article about them
hey! well I’m really terrible at these kinds of things, so bear with me.
but basically, destiny is a mmo-lite science fantasy shooter. the game orients around shooting shit and gearing your guardian while surrounded by other people. if you’re not into shooters (this is a really fun one, though! with some space magic!) or grinding for loot, you’re probably not going to enjoy destiny or you’re going to get bored of it quick. on the mmo-lite part, you don’t ever have to deal with those other people, but end game content skews pretty heavily towards multiplayer (strikes/dungeons, raids, localised public events, and crucible/pvp). but if you are into mmos, please don’t go into destiny thinking it’ll be wow, guild wars, or even swtor, because it’s just... not. these games have a million different things to do but destiny is very much limited to shoot-n-loot.
I love the game because the shooting elements are enjoyable and i’ve been investing in the gear progression for three guardians (one of each class) which appeals to my rpg-loving demand for micromanaging (to a really limited extent, though) and incremental progression and my deep, unwavering love for The Aesthetic. it’s visually spectacular, the characters are fantastic (even if I wish bungie would do a little more with them), and, despite the fact that bungie absolutely SUCKS with how they tell it, the lore the game is built upon is actually really amazing. the main storyline still isn’t anything special tbh, but it’s better than d1′s mess at least.
but, at the same time, I feel like destiny is typically hit and miss depending on what you’re looking for at the time you get it. if you’re looking for an in-depth narrative experience, it’s probably not going to satisfy you. if you’re looking for a project, enjoy shooter game mechanics, and are willing to entirely headcanon your own character and story (which tbh I find way funner than trying to mesh my guardians entirely to the storyline), then maybe give it a try?
#i literally have no idea if this was remotely helpful#i'm so contradictory about this game tbh#like i love it and i've been playing it for WEEKS now#but it's also kind of... empty in a lot of ways#i would kill for bungie to add some more single player stuff#some fucking CRAFTING or more long ass weapons/armour missions?#please???#eatmystardustloser

America's Most Eligible, Home for the Holidays, and Hero
America’s Most Eligible: Who’s your favorite villain?
Grandma Josephine. Did she even really do anything wrong? Let’s discuss.
Hero: Which MC do you feel is most similar to you and why?
Veil of secrets mc. We’re both ravenclaws, have a healthy disdain for the bourgeois, more aloof and rational than a lot of the mcs, but are also willing to cut someone for our friends if we have. i almost ended up with a journalism degree.
Home for the Holidays: Is there a book you haven’t played yet? If so, why?
I think i have at least started all of the books. But I didn’t finish ride-or-die, home for the holidays, or passport to romance so there’s that.

i gotta know if you have any thoughts on henry's grandma curtains
he's at an air bnb that they rented for him for filming S2 of the Witcher so they aren't his curtains, but rather the curtains of whoever owns the rental. he's been in isolation there since quarantine began (his sad isolation cooking on instagram is testament to this, including the birthday cake he made for himself during quarantine), living a life in the country with his dog alone, randomly encountering escaped miniature ponies in the wild night from local farms and herding them back to safety with his giant dog like the Disney prince he is
so lmao the curtains are not of his choosing and thus I have given them no thought, but I have wondered how much rosemary water he's had shipped in lmao

eatmystardustloser replied to your post “horizonproblems reblogged your post and added: If...”
i had high hopes of avoiding it (partially because Sanderson's romances are usually at best 'meh') but that is a really thorough list and analysis.
I’ve enjoyed some of his romances (Raoden/Sarene are a soft spot of mine, and I love what he’s doing with Wax/Steris) but... yeah.
Honestly, rereading all that stuff made me more certain that it’s gonna Happen. As another person commented, attraction doesn’t mean a relationship will result, but... my experience of Sanderson makes me pretty sure that he wouldn’t have included it if there was no long game.
