happy new year's eve! i hope everyone had happy holidays and had time to spend with your loved ones, or at least had the chance to have time for yourselves. i sincerely hope the new year brings a moment of respite and peace for everyone.

now, with that being said, i'm going to talk about some things i've been seeing lately, and get started on pruning some of my followers/moots because what i'm about to say is probably going to piss people off!

in regards to those who have brought up their own concerns about someone and others calling it as "petty-ass drama", or that it's "slander", i need y'all to get off your "holier than thou" asses and think for yourselves for a moment. when people in the RPC, or anywhere for that matter, bring up their own experiences regarding the same person, with their own screenshots/evidence attached, and your only reaction is to harrumph and pretend you're better than everyone else for not "following the witch hunt" or whatever, you're a fool.

a lot of us are adults, yes, and we all have our adult lives to worry more about. but as adults, it is still our responsibility to let others be aware of any negative experiences one may have had with someone else. RP is a hobby, and it's meant to be a fun one, so how the hell can people still enjoy their hobby if they come across someone who may ruin that for them? are they supposed to just stay quiet and slowly disappear into the background? are they supposed to stew in their silence and wonder if it's them who's at fault and that they're just overreacting? or would they be able to actually bring this up as a valid concern without being judged or maybe even ousted from an entire community?

certainly, this can be done privately, and in fact i encourage it to be--but when it gets to the point that there are MULTIPLE PEOPLE with the VERY SAME EXPERIENCE, then it's clearly an actual problem and CANNOT be contained to the privacy of DMs. not to mention, there is a DISTINCT difference between "petty drama" that normally grade-schoolers get up to, and genuine concerns and hurtful experiences being brought to light.

instead of kissing the ass of someone who has affected more than one person, or even just vague-posting about how we should all be "adults" and claiming that people are "lying", be more empathetic towards the people they've harmed.

and thus it brings me to this question: to those who have a "no drama" rule on their blog, what is the boundary? where is the line? what constitutes as drama vs valid concerns/a valid callout? or does someone getting isolated and love-bombed but then neglected and abused the next minute constitute as senseless, petty drama to you?

tldr; get your head out of your ass and reevaluate the types of people you're defending, and yourself.

it's sometimes so silly to look in the notes of a polyamory art/post and see people like "is this cheating art....?" when the characters in canon are all extremely close friends. i know it's not malicious because most people think of monogamy as the default and anything outside that Must be cheating, but truly i'm always like. guys. guys Please.

please think about this for like 2 seconds.

under what circumstances do we think this non-canon couple might hold hands directly in front of their canon partners. and under what circumstances do we think the canon partners might be okay with this. do we Truly think this is a secret relationship. do we Truly think these guys would sneak around behind their canon partners' backs when all of them are extremely close friends with a high level of trust and commitment to each other.

would assuming that these extremely close friends have actually communicated with one another Exactly The Same Way They Do In The Canon Source Material perhaps cause less despair.....

I took a stab at writing some kind of kabitserye type of story but it was a mess: it kept veering off into murder mystery drama territory because I was reading a lot of murder mystery novels around then and it Wasn't Good because I hadn't tried writing mysteries, let alone murder mysteries, before lmao

I did write a handful of short mystery stories since then, so next year I might take a stab at this idea again now that I'm no longer jumping head first into a genre pool I don't know how to swim in :)
