Kiss me, you know they'll love it!
Headcanons: Kissing them on stream.
Pairing: Wilbur x Reader, Tubbo x M! Reader, Quackity x Reader. (Separate).
Wilbur Soot:
First of all, he knew what he was doing. It was just a normal minecraft stream. This got him kinda bothered after a while. And he knew what he had to do to take this bother out of him.
Wilbur says to chat: "Holy.. oh, fuck.. i'm going to the bathroom guys, i'll be right back." He pretends he mutes and turns off the camera, we know he's a good actor.
He calls you, and since the moment you enter the room, he stairs at you with puppy eyes. You ask him why he is looking at you like that, Wilbur just smiles and places his hands on your waist, pulling you closer.
"Will.. aren't they seeing it?"
Wilbur simply doesn't care. He didn't node or deny it. He just got up and put his hands on your cheeks, kissing you passionately.
Chat goes crazy! A lot of people freaking out, they didn't even know he was dating someone.
After he does it, he also pretends to turn the camera and mic on so he can see everybody going crazy again.
"I'm back chat.. did I lose something?" He asked with a smirk.
Tubbo:
It's a late night stream, not a qsmp one, just a normal and chaotic as usual. Tubbo is doing something on his laptop. It's been a while since he's all quiet. Worried, you knocked on the door, calling him;
"Hi babe, what u doing?"
He explains to you something that doesn't matter how much he says, you'll never understand. When he looks at you, his eyes shine, making a dumb but cute smile.
"What? Don't look at me like that dickhead.." You ask, in seconds, he's stood up, hugging you, making you stay closer to him before he kept giving you kisses.
It's so lovely!!!!!
"Stop being mean with me. You're literally my boyfriend!" He giggles and finally kisses you on the lips, a very calm kiss for his natural exited way of being.
"So.. is this camera on?" "Oh.. shit."
He doesn't really care. If you're weak or shorter than him, he gonna take you on his lap, he kept giving you kisses until he get tired, which never happens, or until some giftsub appear on the stream he notices that or he turn the stream off or he let you go.
Now that people know you guys are dating, he'll make sure to bring you sometimes to make a stream with him, always being clingy.
If somebody on the chat flirts with you, he'll be pissed off, not just pissed off, but.. wow. He started to complain about it all the time. Even out of live, he's not the jealous type, but God, he's offended!
Quackity:
He doesn't care.
"Oh, but they'll see us and.." Stfu. He. Doesn't. Care.
Quackity puts you on his lap while streaming, giving you a tight hug.
Small kisses around your cheeks and neck.
Arms are always around you.
He does the possible for talking in your language, so if it is English that cracked fucked up voice comes out, whispering nasty things on your ear.
And, as you guys know, some even more nasty things for you if you speak spanish or portuguese.
I can imagine a pretty "Ah, é? Você sentiu falta de mim hoje..? Eu tenho certeza que posso fazer você se sentir melhor.." In portuguese while he bites the your ear, slowly and teasy.
Or a simple "Mhm, te ves tan bien usando esa ropa, apuesto a que te gustaría verme besarte a través de ella." Coming from him with an innocent smile.
And again, "What if they hear it?" He. Doesn't. Care.
He cares only about you and you feeling good receiving cuddles from him.
Normally, the chat is accustomed to it, just saying things like;
"Come on, man!!!"
"Please, Quackity, can we keep going with the stream?"
"Oh, well, we're losing him.."
He smiles and gives you a big kiss before letting you go. He stayed in a good mood for the rest of the night.

BREAKING MY SILENCE...
my partner and I have been watching different Ride The Cyclone productions. So far we've watched the off-broadway 2016 production (and just in case i'm mistaken, its the one played by Gus Halper, Alex Wyse, Tiffany Tatreau, etcetc. I will also be referring to this one as the OG even though is not cus im too lazy to type allat again), and some of t he more recent ones done in universities. I think it shocked us both to see the differences in the script. I mostly have qualms and complains around Mischa and Ocean's character. Mischa's has to do with how he's portrayed rather than the scripts, like Ocean's. In the newer ones, Ocean is portrayed as such a mean girl especially with the whole improvisation thing. They made her so superficial when in the original it really felt like she was trying her best to (as repetitive as it sounds) be her best and change the world positively even though it gave her a feeling of superiority for believing she is better than anyone else, that it came from HER being capable of changing the world. And by the end instead of reviving herself, she revives Jane and comes to terms that this is how she will affect the world, through giving someone else the chance to live again. That also means that Penny might not even remember her, and that's a whole lot development for Ocean cus she's not thinking about what her mark will be in the world and the changes SHE will make, but rather giving someone else the opportunity to live is purely selfless cus she gets absolutely NO reward, not even personal achivement or nourishment. It's just character development which kind of looses her effect when she's turned into a smart ass MEAN mean girl with airs of moral superiority that make no sense when she's bullying just because. Basically, yes she does think she can change the world but her superiority comes from moral and ethics, not just cus she's like 'im just better than anyone else cus im so slay yas girlypop'. They just pushed it too far with some of the stuff they changed/added (I will admit the improvisation bit was funny, if only it didnt ruin her character ((imo)) I feel like Mischa is being interpreted much more dumb than he actually is. They make him SUUUCH a himbo but almost fully negatively. It seems like they are putting characters in boxes. I enjoyed the OG because - much like he himself says - he gets hyped about things BUT in Halper's interpretation conserves that ''gangster'' more or less serious/chill persona and it's not just some loud ass class clown type of character. We didn't watch much of talia but even thinking of those interpretations singing Talia clashes so much because it feels so dumb'd down compared to the 'og' since he's kind of stupid and silly so it feels like Talia really is just a silly first love, he's being delusional and shit like that. Instead of the Mischa we first saw who already seemed far more realistic and less stereotypical, so it makes more believable for him to be so in love with Talia and that being the whole argument of his desire to live. GRANTED WHAT WE SAW ARE UNIVERSITY PRODUCTIONS so im not sure they were full on actors but still, it bothered me so much to see that twice, i had to get it out of my system bro. No hate to the actors tho these things happen, whateverrr anyway gus halper slayed that role, i have yet to see a Mischa that has so much ACTUAL passion and doesnt dumb down his rage thanks for listening im done yapping please dont yell at me thanks x2!!

Thinking about Actor Au like how @no-see-um-incorrect did!
Bittersweet:
Interviewer: So tell me about you holding the gun at Derek?
Boo giggling: okay so like that came up bc I was reading the script and the backstory of Al, Seth and Derek.
Alphonse: oh shit yeah!
Boo: I was reading and just blurted out "I would put a bullet in this fuckers head." And everyone was shocked hearing me say that!
Seth: yeah bc you got this face when ya said it hon. Like you were actually gonna do it!
Boo: Yurri ended up liking the idea so that was added!
Star Cross Streamers:
Interviewer: So, when you started to work on Star Cross Streamer what did you think of actually meeting Star who is a big streamer?
Faust: I was actually really nervous meeting them and like acting with them as well. Since I'm an okay streamer and they're like a big shot right?
Star holding their chest: I made you nervous?!?!
Faust giggling: uuhhh yeah??? You were this cool person that was nice to everyone and I was a bitch.
Star: hey! You fixed your attitude anyways your much more enjoyable now!
Faust blinking: Did my attitude annoy you!?!?
Star giggling: no silly! I mean your just a but nicer now!
Escape:
Interviewer: Auron, we heard that when Rook first met you they flirted right away at you?
*Rook hiding their face and nodding*
Auron: Ha! They did Yuuri wanted dme to meet them and I walked in. A wolf whistle was heard and they shot me a "Hey handsome how you doing?~"
Rook blushing and looking away: God I was like shocked seeing a hot dude and decided to flirt to calm myself.
Auron: don't worry it was flattering and nice. Also Yuuri got a laugh out of it.
Rook: he did he was trying to breath as I was blushing and not looking at you as I apologized for coming off so strong.
Demon Boyfriend:
Interviewer: So Lucien how do you feel about having to take three hours to get ready for your shooting?
Angel whispering: oh here we go
Lucien: Its so annoying!! And it gets itchy when I'm in it for too long!! Which suchs bc i mess up my lines with the voice changer.
Angel: there are MANY bloopers with Lucien.
Lucien pouting: Also it's hard to eat and cook in my set up.
Interviewer: Oh? You cook on set actually?
Lucien smiling: I'm a culinary student right now! Yuuri liked the idea of me actually cooking with the series so he let me!
Angel: I'm the taste tester when he makes something on set. Also once we tried doing brownies for a episode but Yuuri scrapped it bc it didnt seem right I think?
Lucien: But when a episode gets scrapped and there was food everyone gets some goodies bc of it.
Angel: yeah hes basically the mom of the group bc of it. He always asks if someone's hungry and starts cooking if someone complains about being even a pit peckish.
Lost & Found
Interviewer: So you two were actually childhood friends?
Charlie nodding: yeah we are!
Casper laying on him slightly: yeah I knew this loser since like middle school.
Charlie rolling his eyes: like you weren't a loser too!!
Interviewer: did some of the childhood friendship got added to the story?
Casper chuckling: yeah Yuuri was surprised when he found out we WERE childhood friends turned lovers and he loved how it feels real.
Charlie: but it also makes it hard being serious sometimes.
Casper: theres lots of bloopers where its Charlie messing up and I'm dogging on him for messing up. Then it turns into a big bicker thing and Yuuri has to scold us.
Charlie: yeah we get scolded the most out of everyone after Lucien. Its bc he eats too much on set.

Red, White and Royal Blue (2023) is a tragedy, but not for the reasons that people who hate the book on principle are talking about. It's not just a bad adaptation, it's a bad movie. There is nothing redeeming about it except the casting of Sarah Shahi as Zahra.
First of all, I want to say, that the book DOES have depth. Just because a book is a romcom doesn't mean it doesn't have depth. And I'm sick and tired of seeing the criticism from people who didn’t read the book say "people are complaining that the movie doesn't have depth but the book didn't have depth either, so what were you expecting". It fucking has depth. And I have a right to be upset that the movie absolutely fucking butchered it.
The Casting
The casting, although it has been criticized, has not been criticized for the correct aspects. Nick and Taylor have enough chemistry to be passable for a romcom - it's not great, but at least it wasn't Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant in Two Weeks Notice.
The casting for Alex was not good. I have nothing against Taylor, but his thousand-yard stare had nothing behind the eye(lashes) and actively hindered any and all of Alex’s interactions. Nick was better; Henry is a more subtle character (as he has to be), and this was portrayed much more convincingly.
Nora was fucking annoying and her actress was bad. Uma Thurman does not belong in this movie. Stephen Fry, although the funniest possible actor to put in that role, shouldn't have been in this movie either.
Alex, as a character, was butchered. He should have a Type-A, bouncing off the walls, undiagnosed ADHD, horny but anxious confidence about him. Movie Alex was entirely wrong. I would call him suave, but I don't find him charming. The audience is supposed to think he's suave, maybe, but this is the wrong character trait to give him. He is supposed to be confident and charming, but not suave. There is nothing going on in his head, and this is especially detrimental when Book Alex’s main personality trait is that he overthinks everything at every possible angle.
The Alex and Henry Relationship
The first kiss between Alex and Henry and the scene preceding it are all wrong. Movie Alex is kissing multiple different women and Henry is much more isolated than in the book. Alex’s first line in the confrontation is supposed to be "what are you doing out here?" not "did I do something wrong?" when Henry leaves the party; it's supposed to be more nuanced. Henry should be feeling "of course he's straight, he can't want me, I can't want him" not "betrayed because Alex kissed someone who is not me". Alex is not supposed to know that Henry is upset. Alex is not supposed to think that he is the cause of Henry being upset. The movie cuts any of the depth between them. Another core personality trait of Alex, is that he is selfish. He forgets to text June back about dinner, he gets wrapped up in his own head, he doesn’t understand his friendship/relationship with Liam. He doesn’t understand that he may be the cause of Henry’s emotions.
The camping scenes touched on Alex being selfish, but again, in all the wrong ways. He starts talking about how they could be out as a real couple after the reelection, but he fails to consider that Henry is a prince of England. Truly baffling writing choice, considering Alex is supposedly intelligent and political and, while selfish, extremely aware of the politics surrounding his and Henry’s relationship. Book Alex would never have suggested that they come out the way that Movie Alex did. Movie Alex is a fucking idiot, and didn’t do much to even try to convince me otherwise.
Although I hoped that the movie would be more romcom and less political/royal drama, I’m still dissatisfied with how the movie executed this. There was no journey watching Alex and Henry become friends. There was no "I’ve been in love with you for years" from Henry. There was no "you obsessively looked at his picture in a magazine" from Alex. A large part of the animosity between them, for Alex, is that they are constantly compared in the media. They are uniquely perfect for each other because they are both in very specific spotlights. This aspect of their relationship is completely absent from the movie.
My friend wouldn't let me skip the sex scene, but just know that it was fucking uncomfortable.
The Implications
The combination of Liam and Rafael Luna into one journalist character is a twofold character assassination. You can't take a high school hook up and a gay political professional (who Alex looked up to) and combine them into a journalist. It doesn't work. Miguel, the journalist, acts like a villain immediately - sunken eyes with a scorned lover attitude. He's a joke. There's no nuance in taking two crucial pieces of Alex’s sexuality journey and mashing them together to create an evil gay guy with no explanation.
It's implied that Miguel leaked the emails, but this ignores the actual triple agenting that Rafael Luna was doing. This movie is rated R, but we can't talk about a man attempting to sexually abuse another man because we can't talk about sexual assault amongst the LGBT community; that would make the gays look bad. But we can diminish two characters and create an evil gay journalist archetype who just wants to out Alex and Henry for his own professional gain (and maybe get back at Alex for refusing to hook up with him again). So, you tell me, which gay representation is "worse" for the gays?
Miguel had to be created to be the villain so that Richards, the republican candidate running against Alex’s mom, the one who abused men and attempted to sexually assault Rafael Luna, couldn't be the villain that he is in the books. Because that would alienate the republican audience. Because the republican audience is so crucial to the marketing of what is considered the first mainstream gay romcom.
The Technical Aspects
The social media editing was bad. The way the emails were done was bad. There was no version of this movie that would be successful. There's too much reliance in the book on texts and emails, and you can't build a relationship through technology in a movie. It's always unsuccessful.
The cinematography is Hulu-original bland. The directing was incompetent. The script was incoherent at worst, and over written at best. "trouble you no longer" is a bad line. "he grabbed my hair in a way that made me understand the difference between rugby and football." what the fuck are you talking about.
I hate that the movie was bad, but it was bad. I don't know what fucking movie these other people are watching, but Red, White and Royal Blue (2023) is fucking unwatchable.
#txt#do NOT talk to me about this movie. i know the fandom type.#do NOT reply and put stupid shit#i delete replies and block people for ANYTHING.#anti rwrb 2023

why i dislike stolas more than catra (& angel dust for one part)
inspired by this video (watching it will help everything make more sense)
so, i'm a massive catra fan, and as any of us would know, our fav gets trashed on a lot. often these points are valid, even if i disagree, but usually i find i can argue them. therefore, i get how much it hurts when yours is under that same spotlight. that's why i'll try to say this respectfully, and don't hold anything against stolas stans who still love his character.
while watching, i impulsively made notes comparing stolas to catra in terms of how they treat their partners and how well their character arcs grow. keep in mind, this is entirely my very biased personal opinion (especially considering i think galxe (the op on yt) is/would be a catra anti, and it may be hypocritical but i'm wokay with owning that. here's what i noticed, just to get my thoughts out somewhere:
stolas apologizes repeatedly for his mistakes, but never improves his behavior; catra apologizes and although she relapses back into her old ways occasionally throughout s5, she does try her best to be better and works on being a better person over time, which does happen
stolas complains ungratefully when moxxie & millie save his life at loo-loo land that it wasn't blitzo and nothing comes out of it; catra lashes out yelling at adora for saving her from prime's control on the ship (granted, she did order her not to come for her own safety), but she corrects that mindset later in the episode and begs adora to stay out of forgiveness (also, if you choose to count the showrunner's official "don't go" work as canon*, it's much more explicitly stated that catra regrets her actions and will make up for them)
stolas is neglectful of octavia and puts his selfish needs over her own deserved time from home with him despite the event in question being his idea; catra pushes away scorpia, but at least is shown to put effort towards working with and protecting her (such as lying about the missing/"broken" recorded tapes) ─ this does not mention entrapta, because while the same can be said about her (namely keeping her away from hordak's lab before she befriended him), it can't be overlooked that catra wrongfully sent her to beast island in a panic
stolas views his relationship as transactional, and anything nice he does for blitzo, as simple as loaning an important book, should be returned as a sexual favor; catra's expectations were reasonable considering she was under the impression that a promise had been made to her and was consequently broken ─ also, on another note, catra expectantly sacrificed her life, or at least free will, to save glimmer and believed she would get nothing out of it, not even ever seeing adora again
stolas's only personality trait is sexually harassing blitzo and he doesn't even have any motivation behind it, not even an explanation over an excuse, except maybe pleasure; angel dust does this within the first four episodes of hazbin hotel out of trauma and projection, but stops after "masquerade"
a little less serious, but stolas is always infantilizing and talks in that cringe babying tone; best match i can think of for catra is that time in the northern reach when she taunts "looks like you're mine now, adora" but at least her drawl is more seductive than infantilizing
even if catra can be considered abusive, it's clear that there's a whole story and a lot of emotional baggage behind why regarding feelings of betrayal & revenge (which adds to the motivation point above); if stolas is abusive, then it's entirely a power trip and there's nothing deeper into it; he's just, as blitzo puts it, a rich pompous asshole who sees lower-class citizens of hell as playthings for his entertainment (i mean, hell, that's literally how their friendship even started as kids through "buying" a circus actor, whereas catra & adora's was bonding over having each other throughout a hard life and seeing each other as equals when shadow weaver didn't)
there's probably plenty more i could add that i'm just not thinking of currently. it can be fairly said that both stolas and catra are quite... possessive, and talk(ed) down to blitzo/adora all the time. this is a negative trait that they share. also, antis of both have made the argument that if these were M/F relationships, people in general would absolutely see a lot more wrong with them.
as long as you can be respectful and avoid coming across as condescending, i'm open to learning other opinions from you!
*i have seen nate's artwork be criticized as if it's true to the show, so i suppose that writing was a fair proposal too

It’s because some of us can’t stand fanon mike he’s not will or el at the end of the day it’s not our fault the duffers already messed up his character arc long ago. some of us aren’t really interested in mike like that and to be frank I hate how much trauma people are putting on him as if he isn’t a privileged middle class *maybe cis maybe not* kid with insecurities cause he can’t play hero anymore like he used to. Fanon mike is retaliation to whatever we got the last two season from the character and I get it, but why are we keep acting like he’s important to vecna or the plot like that he’s just els boyfriend and wills crush at this point.
You don’t agree with this most likely but idc I’m just here to let this out for those who sympathize with mike. He’s genuinely not a interesting character and if Will wasn’t in love with him I wouldn’t look his way.
Hello? Will solo stan that doesn't get the show in My asks? more likely than you think
i'm sorry but you clearly sent this knowing i wouldn't agree with you and you don't sound like you want a conversation so... why did you send this? was it just to tell me there's people that don't care about Mike? because shockingly, i know that already, the influx in open Mike hate was why everyone doubled down on his character being important and purposeful last week in the first place
i'm genuinely confused on how you're watching the show, though. i mean, at least you're admitting you're only in it for Will so i guess you're aware of your bias and shortcomings?
also lmao sorry but *maybe cis maybe not*?? are you trying to say being queer in the midwest 80s in a small town with a conservative environment wasn't that bad or damaging or worth elaborating on because he's "probably cis" and the family is middle class? hello? newsflash just in, the queers need to stop complaining about how scared they are of coming out and potential consequences of it, if you're cis you're basically getting cishet privileges anyway. i'm really not sure what you meant to say here, you okay? also, aren't All the characters cis??
the vendetta you have against "fanon Mike" is fascinating tbh. what exactly is "fanon Mike" to you, bc the ask suggests it's just Mike with any motivations and 3dimensional writing orrrr? also thank you for telling me that Mike El and Will are separate characters! i almost forgot! i really needed the reminder that these extremely different characters aren't actually the same person or re-skins. thanks for your service, you really showed the evil Mike-sympathizers today o7
but you know what, sure, i'll indulge this a bit, i like talking about the show after all, you don't have to read this ofc, i feel like we're both aware we won't find common ground here
saying that Mike isn't important to the plot is batshit crazy sorry not sorry. not even talking about s5, it's just plain wrong in general and i'm assuming you haven't seen the show in ages
even right from the beginning Mike is established as the first MC and then proceeds to be the main pov for the entirety of s1. in universe Mike is the parties dm unofficial leader and according to Will "heart of the party", out of universe Mike is the only character that has established relationships and evolving conflicts with every single party member and even most adults like Hopper and Joyce. i don't know how you're watching the show to take away that Mike is unimportant and a support character
ST is an ensemble show and Mike is one of the characters, alongside El, Joyce and Will that consistently fills an MC role. (while also being one of the only ones to outright get referred to as one of the mains by actors and writers) where you got the idea from that Mike is a useless character people are stupid to care about is beyond me
if you're genuinely going into s5 hoping for Mike to be as unimportant and off-your-screen as possible i feel like you're setting yourself up for the disappointment of the century. i feel stupid just listing the reasons for why Mike is clearly going to be an important player in s5 because of how obvious they are but oh well
Mike is the first protagonist ever introduced and the final season that wants to go "full circle" Has to finish his arc satisfyingly for it to work
Mike is Will's love interest, a character that's already confirmed to be more of a main on screen again, so focusing on both parties of the ship is necessary to get them together
also Mike is still in a relationship? if he's supposed to go from dating El to suddenly dating a guy that's also his childhood bff you need to elaborate on his feelings. otherwise Will's romance is also going to fall flat and i'm sure you don't want that anon
Mike is part of the people that only came back to town after everything in s4 went down already and part of the group that seems to be the main focus in s5 (see the hill shot)
also just regarding the hill shot, Mike is center stage here (and also between his two "love interests"), totally accidental i'm sure
also the only character Will told about Vecna being alive in s4 and already swore to kill him with Will, also totally not a s5 set up don't worry
and before i go on here, aside from the writers themselves mentioning Mike as a main in multiple interviews David talked about the s5 mains a few days ago and Obviously Mike is up there along with El, Will and Joyce, exactly the people you'd expect
i don't understand how people are trying so hard to claim that there's nothing interesting about Mike to get into, as if even just s4 itself doesn't go out of it's way to set up an excess of potential conflict for s5
obvious relationship drama with El left hanging after an "i love you" monologue which we didn't see a response to yet
feelings for his best friend while he's still dating his gf
the unresolved painting lie
also the sexuality issue that comes with being queer/gay, that's been going back to s1. also made more severe by the show going out of it's way to repeatedly hammer home that the Wheelers are conservative and don't have close relationships with their kids
"you're the heart", speech about leading the party and bringing everyone together. he can't just face into the bg after Will gave him that talk, there needs to be payoff
the whole hellfire thing that's set up with the members names and faces being broadcast as "satanists" and the potential reason for everything that's been going on ON TV, sure that won't have any consequences am i right?
the Vecna plot itself, s4 makes it a point to have Will tell Mike and only Mike about Vecna being alive and the two of them agree to kill him right before the season ends
and that's just the obvious set ups s4 leaves us with, not even touching on the fact that Mike's pov has been withheld for essentially 2 seasons. which is something you can do and ignore, but only if the characters don't have anything going on during that time. Mike meanwhile changes drastically in these two seasons and we never get to learn what actually happened, why he's suddenly so set on growing up and getting gfs in s3, why he's suddenly such an uninterested bf in s4, why he suddenly feels weird about kissing El in the s3 finale after already having made out with her. there's a lot happening and we only see the fall out of it, we don't get Mike's pov. you call it "bad writing" but that's a picture book writing 101 set up, if you don't see that i don't know what to tell you
but i feel like you said everything already, i'm just rambling because i like talking. we probably won't find any common ground here. you only tolerate Mike because you like Will and that's that. not everyone has to care about every aspect of a show, however, i don't get why you're going to other blogs to tell them about your personal preference and about how you don't like one of the MCs. this is an ensemble show, it's not the El-show, and it's not the Will-show either, both of these takes are equally wrong
i don't know what the ideal s5 would look like to you, but if it turned out Will was the only important thing and the only character we focused on it would be absolute ass and horrible writing
Lucas just lost Max and left him with a shit ton of trauma, also Erica's gone through so much too. Max is still lost in a coma. El is distraught over not being able to save Max and now not find her anymore. Dustin just lost Eddie right in front of him too. there's a military presence in Hawkins now, the hellfire club fallout still hasn't happened, and so on and on. (also things like the "Nancy love triangle" still need time to be resolved too)
there's a lot s5 has to focus on to be a good wrap up for all these arcs. and yes, handling Mike's arc well is also part of that, shockingly
also ending this with a: you know people are allowed to like and care about character even if you don't give a shit about that character, right? claiming a central character with a ton of conflict set up isn't interesting is well withing your right and i won't change your mind on that, i'm aware, but going after people for actually caring about the conflicts the show is setting up isn't the move either. not everyone is obligated to share your views, especially when they're this far out there. and i feel like you knew that going in here
#help what a take#no hard feelings anonie we clearly knew there wouldn't be a consensus from the start here lmao#but oh well i'm still kind of surprised to see these takes ngl#ask tag

chapter 130 thoughts
MEMCHO TIME!!!!!!! admittedly it feels a bit jarring to suddenly swerve to focusing on Mem following last chapter but I will never complain about Mem Time
This chapter focused on an aspect of Mem that I've talked about before and really appreciate in that it makes a point of saying that Mem is a lot smarter and much more capable than her front-facing persona tends to make her come off. It's not that the everyday Mem or the more mature, capable adult Mem are 'fake' in any way, but Memcho deliberately chooses to emphasize this bold energy of hers as a way of dealing with challenges and ingratiating herself to the people around her. As coping mechanisms for tough times go, it's honestly the most healthy anyone in this series gets lol
It's also possible I'm just saying this as The Ai Guy but it honestly reminds me a little bit of Ai's dichotomy - it's not that either side of her is 'fake' in comparison to the other, but she chooses to put on a more socially acceptable face by playing up certain aspects of her personality.
It's also interesting to see Kana and Akane talk so frankly about the mundanely grimy and nasty parts of being an actor. OnK tends to focus on more large-scale or I guess 'grander' aspects of the entertainment industry's darkness so it was a bit refreshing to see it at least acknowledge something more down to earth like "making movies is expensive and stressful so everyone's on edge"
Extremely interesting to note: We find out that Abiko and Kichijoji also contributed to the movie script even if only in small parts. Not only is the movie drifting further away from reality just by the basic needs of dramatization, it has now also been touched by at least two people who didn't know Ai and who never even met her. Whether the story acknowledges this or not, it's becoming increasingly clear that we need to take any information from this movie with a whole lamp's worth of salt.
After all, while this is a story about Ai... it's not really Ai's story, is it? She's not the one telling it and when you really get down to it, this is just another example of Ai being exploited and commodified for other peoples' desires, with the added tragedy that this is her own son finally taking part in that exploitation in a misguided attempt to grant her wish.
But... we'll get to that.
The note Mem and Aqua's convo ends on is kind of strange. Aqua acknowledging he's using Mem is surprisingly straightforward of him but Mem saying in return that she's glad for it seems kind of odd.
And finally... we get a proper peek at one of the DVDs at last, though only in part.
I'm increasingly curious as to why Ai chose this method for telling the twins whatever she had to say to them on the DVD and the circumstances around them both are pretty weird. Her insistence on Gotanda looking after them and her request to deliver them to the twins at age 15, as if she might not be around to do it herself... I can really see why people have been wondering if Ai didn't suspect her life was in danger around this time, though it's not a theory I'm fully keyed into.
It's also interesting that she split them in two. I'm assuming this means Aqua has some information that Ruby does not but again the question: why this method of delivery? The DVDs as a whole are such a weird little mystery box and I can't help but wonder if even Akasaka isn't sure what he's doing with them.
Cute detail, though: The 'Happy Birthday' streamer up on the wall is from the anime's version of the Ai interview flashforward, which reframes it as a message recorded for the twins by Ai on their first birthday. It's cute to see the anime's creative choices reincorporated back into the manga like that.
Ai on the DVD says she has a request to the 'now all grown up' Aqua and Ruby - she specifically asks it of both of them, which means that Aqua keeping his to himself is particularly shitty of him, but in a way that's in-character and consistent with the self destructive behaviour we've been seeing for a while.
All in all, this was an interesting chapter and I don't want to say it was unnecessary but it felt... weirdly placed, I guess? Similar to my feelings on chapter 127, it feels even more like a story beat we didn't need right now. Obviously, we're still making our way through the movie arc so this structure might make more sense on the other side, but I've got a bad feeling that we're spinning our wheels a bit so Aka can try and keep pace with the season 2 production.
This was volume 13's last chapter so we're on break next week! Who do you think we'll get on the cover this time? Personally, I'm manifesting Melt......................................

DAMIAN'S FALSE PATERNITY
Well I'm back just, with something more relaxed,
Today we will talk about the shittyshow, clearly it will not be anything good…. Especially Damian's false paternity…a.k.a the flaccid prince.
Disclaimer: this post is not against the actors, it is not their fault that they were chosen and despite that, they were characterized in the worst way. It's HBO's fault.
Well, starting with clearly that the shitty show Damian is GAY, he is not bisexual or anything, he is GAY. My arguments to say it are these:
Damian only had 3 scenes of a sexual nature in the first season (explicit) because he had others of a “flirtatious” nature but we will talk about those later.
In his first sexual scene, which is with that false attempt by the whore Liseny, who isn't even Liseny, I don't remember where they invented that mysaria came from in the HBO garbage, he doesn't get an erection, the man simply doesn't work, they'll tell me… it's because there are men who sometimes do not have an erection for X reason and it does not mean that they are gay. Ok, let's suppose I buy that pathetic excuse from you.
let's move on to the second scene, which is with Renada in the brothel… No… my life… is not leaving because he has renada's reputation in mind… If I remember correctly what Condal said, it is that he was impotent… in short, he didn't get hard and that's why he leaves her there and goes to drink, assuming that it wasn't because he is impotent and he did it out of "respect" and "protection" to Renada, clearly he could have gone to sleep with a whore to satisfy his desire… of course assuming that his body reacted sexually to Renada's, but NO, he went to drink. For obvious reasons, he had no desire for her.
To go in order, we can talk about his first flirting scene, which was with Laena where he compares her in beauty with HER BROTHER (Laenor), which is true that in the books that phrase is said, it is never mentioned that it was Daemon who He said it, it was a comment that several people made in court, what was the need to do that scene? If not to reveal his interest in men,
His second scene and the most obvious is his flirting scene with his servant in pentos… which he did IN his wife's FACE, plus they say they cut scenes where they were more explicit, where the servant's actor on TikTok came out to confirm that They were lovers.
And it's also good to add that in the book they released to explain the shittyshow they say that Damian was in love with the mummy Viserys and that's why he always sought his approval and walked around like a lapdog after him who even threw an egg tantrum just because he wanted his sweetheart was going to confront him and not forget the scene of jealousy that he made, complaining to him for not being his hand and that he preferred Otto… loving trio in sight……
And good to put the icing on the cake, the scene on the beach with renada………. I don't know how you are able to see love, passion and desire in that scene……. It's just as uncomfortable as the scene with the mummy Viserys and Alisaint, who will tell me you saw there if it works… but let's keep in mind who Damian came from seeing, he came from seeing his sweetheart Viserys's corpse, that's why he It worked, he came excited hahahaha sorry…. Well… not sorry
Well now let's get to the point of the post hahaha, Damian's paternity.
I clarify again, I'm talking about the shittyshow, not the canon.
The twins to begin with don't look anything like him, they are a carbon copy of Laena, pay attention, Laena is mixed and if they are supposed to be from Damian, the girls should have a lighter skin complexion, otherwise be told that Corlys' genetics are pure velaryon!!! Let me remind you that Corlys has Targaryen descent… so knowing the life they showed us that they led in pentos, it is very likely that the twins are not their daughters and they will tell me but Baela has a dragon… come on, dragon seeds have less blood than them and they could still ride dragons…so…
But well, you'll tell me… well, the bastard minis (you don't know how it hurts me to call my children Aegon and Viserys like that even though they're not them… the poor creatures are the most innocent there) came out blonde… but well, their mother is Renada, don't forget it. She could have messed with another guy and this time it turned out well, keep in mind that Renada is going to Dragonstone to live with Damian, and in the series she lived in the fortress before that's why she was more watched by her sweetheart Alisaint, being in dragonstone she could do and undo… so these children could not easily be Damian's children…
But well, knowing Damian's sexuality and that the only time we see that her male apparatus works is after seeing the Viserys mummy… that says a lot…
It is your problem if you attack yourselves and do not want to see the reality of your Damian and Renada.
Sorry not sorry, and don't give me the homophobia card, invent another argument… you are tired… that's all you have in your mouth
kisses.

I don’t have Twitter but I’ve seen fans (mainly Team Green) discuss actors’ physical appearance, but it’s not to be rude simply to explain fandom psyche.
The fact of the matter is for all their airs of feminism and female lead storylines when it comes down to it fans want the “pretty boy” on their Team.
Would House Stark be as popular if it wasn’t for Richard Madden and Kit Harrington? Would King Joffrey I Baratheon be as hated if William Moseley had played him instead? In Star Wars even would people be falling over themselves to defend Kylo Ren if he was played by someone other than Adam Driver?
So imo it’s not rude to say Matt Smith isn’t as handsome as Fabien Frankel, TGC and Ewan Mitchell if it’s to discuss the shallowness of some fans and how it affects fandom experience. Hell even Team Black stans are complaining about how the Green cast had all the good looking men!
This definitely played a part in why Black stans are flailing over S2!Jace, especially now that they ditched the wig and he looks more like Harwin. With Harry they finally have their age appropriate “pretty boy” who they can put on a pedestal.
Have you seen their takes?
Jace needs to overthrow Rhaenyra
Jace is 100x better than Rhaenyra
Jace is perfect and can do no wrong
Westeros would be rainbows and puppies if Jace was crowned king
Jace is the real father of Daenaera so now we’re going to attack any Jaehaera/Aegon III shipper we come in contact with
I understand that people can talk about actors physical appearance in a respectful manner to make valid points without being rude - I'm just saying a majority of what I've seen (plus the example I put of both the image and what happened with emma) is them being rude to someones appearance, to either uplift another actor or simply because they dislike the character and therefore are putting that hatred onto the actor.
And I get your point! Pretty privilege as well as being a well known actor tend to make fans enjoy a character regardless if the character is bad - e.g daemon, a lot of people enjoy daemon because he's played by Matt, which is understandable but can result in people purposefully ignoring the fact he is a bad character (as in has done bad things) and romanticising him and his actions.
I think also what people find attractive is relative, and we can't really dictate any one person as 'more' or 'less' attractive than another because it depends on our personal preferences. We may personally find someone less or more attractive, but it doesn't mean we can state it as a fact simply because so
I haven't actually seen many Jace takes like the examples you provided, perhaps I haven't gone too deep into HOTD twitter (thankful for that, honestly) but I also don't see much about Jace at all lol

Downton S7: My One Fear
Nothing can ruin Downton Abbey for me.
Nothing.
It exists and I love it. If more comes along and I don't love it, it does not have to exist in my world. I can ignore it. I can say 'my Downton ends at the second movie, thank you' and be perfectly happy rewatching the parts I like. And honestly, there are lots of things they can do that I would still enjoy. I saw one person post that apparently they'd heard the rumor it actually is WWII era and that could be cool. It could focus more on the kids, etc. I wouldn't even mind that Thomas wasn't there because let's be honest - there was always the possibility that Rob would want to stop doing it, same as the other people who would not renew contracts. As long as they wrote the character out by sending him off into the sunset with a nice boyfriend rather than, oh, dying of a perfectly preventable disease or winding up smashed under a car, I'd be good. If that's what happens, I will be good.
Downton Abbey being ruined is not what I'm afraid of.
I'm afraid of the fandom being ruined.
That can happen and there are lots of people who can do it. They're called 'other fans'. They've already made me feel - repeatedly, for years - like it would be better for me to pack up and leave. They've already sank a ship I liked by deciding "we're not going to be fun anymore, and if anyone complains about it, we're going to tell them they're nasty and blame a different group for it, haha we are invincible…and miserable woe is us". They've already made me nervous about posting certain fics without big, honestly kinda off putting author's notes telling people not to use my comments to simply bitch about what they don't like while pretending they're complimenting my fiction.
I am here to enjoy Downton Abbey. Period. End stop.
It seems like a lot of other people are here to hate it, or at least to find every conceivable reason to hate Julian Fellowes.
If Rob's not in it, even if it's his decision and he somehow managed to send out a hand written, personalized letter explaining the decision to every Thomas fan on the planet, I would bet the mortgage that I still get buried in a tidal wave of "here's more proof that JF is a homophobe why does he even write gay people he sucks at it!" I mean, okay, that gay person made me feel represented in a way no other gay character ever has and his actor's received fan mail from people in unsafe situations saying that character gave them someone to connect to, but that's not important. That was an accident and JF would probably be horrified if he knew he'd done something nice for us. All of the places he said he liked Thomas, Thomas was supposed to be sympathetic, those were just a cover, right? Right? That's how this works?
If Rob is in it and something's happened with his relationship to Guy because Dominic West wouldn't sign on Julian Fellowes is the King of Homophobes, it's going to be a ton of "See? He can't let Thomas have happy things! Of course he can't let Thomas have happy things! We are vindicated in our dislike!" We'll probably even see that from the people going "Oh good, he's back and single now we'll have an easier time getting him back with (Phillip/Edward/Jimmy/Richard) - his TRUE LOVE!" Because the canon just worked in your favor, but that has to be an accident, because Julian Fellowes sucks.
And people can't just ignore the new stuff. We have so much proof of that! It's beyond our collective ability to just say "Yeah, I'm not interested in this, I'm just going to ignore it" if it is remotely connected to something that does interest you. Ignoring a pairing between characters you're not interested in (which lots of us do) is different from ignoring a pairing you don't like with a character you do (which a lot of us…don't). We can't just say "I didn't like that film or that ship, so I'm going to ignore it's existence and keep writing fiction based on what I like", we have to bring up how much we don't like that film/ship/Julian Fellowes every chance we get. That in turn makes it impossible to ignore the complaining and just enjoy the thing you like.
Seriously, there's one person I want to miss, but I can't because every time I made a post that could be construed as saying something nice about JF, they had to comment (or better yet reblog it) with a hand wave of agreement and then copious assurance that JF is a horrible person and they know and acknowledge the fact and won't let anyone else forget!
So if S7 comes along and people don't like it, that dislike is going to become what the fandom is about. If some people like it and some don't, it's going to be about the two groups arguing (and undoubtedly blaming the conflict on the other side) because they refuse to ignore each other.
And I don't want that.
That is not what inspires me to write fanfiction, that is what inspires me to napalm my blog and haul all of my work off of Ao3.
I don't want to scroll through a dashboard's worth of posts discussing why anything we don't like is Julian Fellowes's fault, even if it was more likely Gareth Neame's or the director's or the actor's or the costume department's. I don't want all of my Ao3 comments to suddenly be full of "Oh good, you fixed that thing that JF did wrong" or "Yay! A piece that rejects JF's dreadful next installment!" and other things that don't actually have anything to do with why I write or what I'm doing with my writing or even really compliment what I've done.
But I can't create in a bubble. I need the interaction and good feedback to be inspired and to learn and grow.
I want to be able to enjoy a thing I like with other people that like it.
And after having a good chunk of the people I associate with - and even more of the writers I used to enjoy - decide post movie two that being fun and enjoyable to interact with was absolutely for the birds, thank you very much, I'm really pretty afraid I'm not going to have anyone to talk to.
#downton abbey#season seven rumors#thomas barrow#sequel concerns#julian fellowes#i really just don't want the fandom to be super active again#i mean i like new people don't get me wrong#but the f***ing politics!

Watched Wish last night! I'd previously seen a bunch of videos criticizing it for this and that, and while some arguments hold up (I just know someone down at Disney has their head in their hands, wondering why the soundtrack didn't blow up like Encanto did even though it had the same musical bones), I ended up really enjoying the movie anyway. The animation also wasn't as bad as people made it out to be.
Maybe it's because I'm not hard to please as someone who's liked Miraculous Ladybug for 8 years, but I did find story decent, the humor was pretty good, Asha was quirky but not annoyingly so imo, and I can tell a lot of heart was put into the movie, even if it ultimately failed at capturing an audience.
People (mainly adults) complained about Asha's friends and their lack of personality and depth. I thought they were fine as they were, and not every character needs a backstory. My favorite part of the movie was the Dopey friend character. I actively looked forward to his lines, and Grumpy never got on my nerves either. The others were kinda boring, but they didn't take away from my enjoyment of the story. I probably laughed out loud because the people in the audience were cracking up, but the fact that it made a room without a single minor in it burst out laughing multiple times must mean they did something right.
Oh, and Star was SO cute!! Him and his little ball of yarn🥺 Starboy this, Starboy that--look me in the eyes and tell me Star was worth switching out for a sunshine version of Jack Frost. [okay maybe he was, but I'm tired of people hyping up a character who never got past the conceptual phase!!]
Plus! Plus! I don't care that the Queen wasn't evil and we didn't get a villain couple! Do y'all really believe the writing could've been saved by the Queen being evil if the evil king we got was so mid?? (I like Chris Pine as a voice actor, it's not his fault Magnefico was the least interesting part of the movie).
I can see people coming back to this movie in ten years and saying "oh it's actually pretty good, people should've given it a chance". It's obviously not perfect (songs with good melodies but weak rhythm and lyrics, generally uninteresting villain, heavy-handed Disney references, not enough Dario being introspective!!).
But yoooo, this movie isn't for you. It was obviously written for kids, and kids will fricking love it! It is very family friendly, it's funny, and for an origin story about the wishing star, it's not bad. (Insert theory about Asha training successors to be fairy godmothers). It's not a home-run, but people need to stop talking about it like it's the worst thing Disney's ever put out. Not everything needs to be a masterpiece to deserve basic respect.
#you know what#screw you#*disagrees with your popular opinions about Wish which is a perfectly fine kids movie*#disney wish#and quite frankly#LE addresses the nation

New form~! ...or I guess, to be more accurate (in my opinion at least), the rest of the new form~!
(Fucking Tumblr deleted my post just as I was making it, smh)
Anyways, Spoilers, I guess~!
-Geatsing Time
-Oh no, I sure hope Ace doesn't die before the opening credits!
-Keiwa and Neon with the save!
-Run, boy!
-He's awake!
-"Whoa man, you look terrible. Do you get injuries in the future too?"
-Deathless behavior.
-I find it very interesting how they flipflop between "era" and "world" when talking about the differences between Ziin and Ace.
-Learning the fear of human loss, huh buddy?
-Oh fuck, Nobunaga. ...are we talking Core Medals, a little bitch, a Parka Ghost, or Akira Date?
-...I don't wanna imagine him in the DGP, that's an implication I don't wanna imagine.
-Iulius Caesar.
-I have to say, the actor they got to play "A" certainly looks the part of a young Mediterranean lad from that era.
-It's definitely a Lord of Dark Odio-type situation.
-Oh fuck, Kekera.
-And Keiwa too, he's here!
-Keeps getting that coin.
-...certainly a lot to take in.
-"I die. I come back. It happens."
-We know of five major incarnations of "A". The (presumed) original, Garfield, Yakumo, Li, and of course our boy Ukiyo.
-Certainly five lives aren't enough for two thousand years, so that leaves us with far more questions than we've had before. How many wars has he fought in that weren't DGP related? How many languages has he spoken, how many spouses or kids did he have? How many friends or favorite foods or books has he read? Did he ever cross paths with non-DGP Riders before the movie? Or hell, how many times has Ace lived as woman or even an animal?
-Certainly five lives aren't enough for two thousand years, so that leaves us with far more questions than we've had before. How many wars has he fought in that weren't DGP related? How many languages has he spoken, how many spouses or kids did he have? How many friends or favorite foods or books has he read? What kind of day jobs did he have? Hell, how many times has Ace lived as woman or even eschew gender altogether? Did he ever cross paths with non-DGP Riders before the movie?
-All we can do is speculate.
-Ohhhhh, Ziin...
-I'm gonna be honest, I'm really enjoying Suzuki-san's performance, it's quite compelling.
-They say "Never meet your heroes", but...
-Oh boy, here comes the bad guys.
-Hey, Niram. Y'know that Driver of yours lets you fight too, right? I mean, Beroba's far more competent than Chirami could ever dream of being, but she's a teenage girl and you're a grown-ass man and obviously far more experienced in fighting than she is. You could very easily put her in gay baby jail if you show a little initiative.
-Shaddup Neon, he's finally doing something!
-Oh man, this is great.
-I'm being spoiled with these untransformed fights.
-"He doesn't need protecting, does he?" THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING
-Going for the jackpot, huh Neon?
-"Come, Geats!"
-I have to wonder how much of Yakumo Eisu is in there.
-Oooooh, Gigant Time! Been a while.
-Hammer Time?
-Time to dance, Commander.
-Oh, speaking of gay baby jail.
-Boost Mark Two!
-Y'know, I'm starting to think Niram got sick of me complaining and is legally shutting me up.
-Anyways, WOOOO NEON, YOU GO GIRL
-Irritating man! That's Ace for ya!
-Save your oshi, Ziin-kun!
-Oooooh!
-He's awake now!
-Ooooooh, that's a nice standby loop.
-"Move over here, please."
-Dual On!
-Hyper Link!
-Oooooooooh, that's saucy!
-Laser Boost! Ready, Fight!
-Yeah, that's a good one.
-"You like my colors?"
-Jet Lagged!
-Saa... koko kara Highlight da! :)
-350 YEARS WHAT
-Oooooh, those're some spicy effects.
-Oh, okay, he's just
-Psychic now.
-Boost Time!
-Ooooooh, theme's playing, it's real now!
-Second half too~!
-Man, this is so chaotic, I love it.
-Finish Mode!
-Laser Boost Victory!
-She is down.
-See you later, Granny Gotham.
-I see Buffa doesn't appreciate his fans very much.
-"This Driver is mine now."
-All's Well That Ends Well?
-Ooooh!
-Awww, Ziin :)
-"You're my Number 1 Fan, lad."
-"Hmmmm... You lied to us, stole my power, and have the nerve to run your mouth off at me? How adorable."
-...he knows he needs the fingerprint authentication, right?
-"Bleeeeh. Hmph."
-I think Goddess Lady's a bit displeased with you, Michinaga.
-Right, next episode.
-NEON BIRTHDAY.
-Oh no, they're ruining her birthday. That's an unforgivable crime.
-"Surprise Bull-fighting Game", well it was nice knowing you Michinaga.

Killua x Mika x I will protect you
Killua was reclined on the comfortable couch, shirtless as he slept, with his fair skin and soft white hair being illuminated by the faint moonlight through the windows.
A light breeze blew in through the window, and Killua's hair swayed slightly. The air was filled with an aroma of petrichor, and the room was quiet save for the slight hum of the refrigerator in the kitchen.
His beloved Mika entered...and approached him.
She saw him lying on the sofa and went to gently run her fingers through his white hair.
Killua stirred in his sleep, his hair ruffling as Mika's fingers gently brushed across it. He let out a soft sigh and shifted slightly, his eyes remaining closed as he remained asleep.
Mika's touch was light but sweet, and Killua's hair seemed to glisten in the dim moonlight filtering through the windows of the living room.
Mika smiled at him and was about to move away from him, but he grabbed her hand and made her fall on the couch and stood over her.
“I knew you weren't fully asleep, haha, Killua, you're a failed actor.”
She laughs at him, caressing his face.
Killua's eyes opened, his gaze meeting Mika's. He had a small smile playing about his lips, and a few strands of her hair were caught in his fingers.
"I knew you were coming in,"
Killua said, his voice low and his tone teasing. His white hair was ruffled, and his face and body were still somewhat tired after waking up so suddenly.
He let go of Mika's hand and reached out to caress her cheek, his touch gentle.
"You're still tired from your endless tasks. Look at your face full of scratches,"
Mika complains as she looks at his face and the scratches on his face and his naked body.
Killua chuckled and sighed slightly.
"Yes, you're right, I'm pretty tired from everything,"
he said, leaning his head down so that he was at Mika's height. He lightly rubbed his eyes and stretched his arms above his head.
"You're very observant, Mika,"
Killua said with a small, slightly teasing smile.
"The scratches aren't a big deal - they'll heal quickly."
Killua shrugged slightly and looked down at his body, which was covered in various scrapes and scratches from his latest mission. He seemed almost indifferent to his injuries, although Mika's concern was evident.
"A few more battle scars is all,"
he said, his tone casual.
"It's nothing to be worried about."
He smiled slightly and glanced at her face again before leaning in for a kiss.
She puts her hands on his mouth so he won't kiss her,
"Oh, don't say that. You say that every day. After all, I'm afraid you'll get hurt more."
Killua frowned slightly at Mika's interference and let out a small laugh. His hand reached out to grasp hers and pull it away from his mouth before leaning closer to her face and kissing her on the lips.
"I'm a warrior,"
he said, his tone somewhat firm but gentleness still apparent in his voice.
"I can take care of myself, I don't need you to worry."
She slaps his face lightly
"You're really strong, haha, but you're an idiot."
Killua rolls his eyes in annoyance at her sarcasm.
Killua's face was slightly red from Mika's slap, and he let out a small laugh despite her harshness.
"Don't be so mean,"
he protested, though he didn't seem to take it to heart. He gently grasped Mika's chin with one hand and turned her head to face him, and then he reached out and kissed her again, this time with more intention.
Mika kisses him passionately as she runs her fingers through his hair .
Killua's white hair rustled and shifted slightly as Mika's fingers ran through it, which seemed to cause him to become even more invested in the kiss.
He held her close and caressed her face with the hand that wasn't occupied with holding her chin. His passion was evident, but at the same time, there was a gentleness to it that seemed unlike the way he would respond to a fight.
Killua smiled into the kiss, one arm wrapped around Mika's waist and his other hand still gently caressing her cheek.
The touch of her fingers through his hair felt good, and Killua pressed the kiss to increase his passion. His tongue played across Mika's lips, and he breathed softly against her face.
Mika puts her hands on his face as she kisses him deeply.
Killua's white hair was pushed behind his ears as Mika held him, and as she kissed him passionately, his expression shifted from calm to passionate.
His white hair blew in the slight breeze coming from the windows, and his skin was soft and pale as Mika touched him.
He returned the kiss passionately, one hand still caressing her face and the other hand moving down her back.
Suddenly Mika's phone rang,
"Mmm, Killua is my phone."
She says during the kiss, hitting his chest lightly to break the kiss, but Killua doesn't want to.
Killua continued their kiss despite Mika trying to break away, grasping her hand and pulling her back toward him.
He pressed his body closer to hers and kept caressing her face, his passion and intensity becoming evident.
"Ignore it,"
he murmured softly as he continued to kiss her, wanting nothing more in that moment than to continue their passionate embrace.
“Mmm, what if it’s something important,”
she grumbles, trying to reach her phone.
Killua's kiss was becoming more passionate and intense, and the intensity of his stare seemed to increase as he met Mika's eyes. His grip on Mika's hand grew stronger, and he pulled her back toward him despite her attempts to reach her phone.
"It can wait,"
he said, his voice somewhat fierce.
"We're doing something important right now."
Killua's grip on Mika's hand tightened, and he pulled her closer as he continued to kiss her. He shifted his position slightly, placing himself on top of her and pressing his body against hers.
The phone continued to ring, interrupting their kiss, and Killua's frustration seemed to rise.
"We're doing something more important than answering that damn phone,"
he whispered fiercely, his tone clearly annoyed.
"It can wait, for now."
Killua grew even more irritated as the phone continued to ring and intrude upon their moment.
He seemed on the verge of grabbing the phone and throwing it across the room, but he refrained out of respect for Mika's things and her desire to answer it.
He instead just gave a look of annoyance and continued to kiss Mika passionately, ignoring the phone as best he could.
Killua's eyes narrowed slightly, his annoyance increasing as the phone continued to ring. He reached out a hand to grasp the phone and answer it, still holding Mika in the other hand.
"Hello?"
he said, trying to keep his voice and tone neutral despite his obvious annoyance.
"Mika, you stupid trash, why don't you answer quickly?"
says Mina, Mika's close friend, whom Killua hates because she always tries to make Mika fight with him.
Killua rolled his eyes at Mina's statement and let out a soft chuckle.
"Hello Mina, how are you? It's good to hear from you,"
he said sarcastically.
"This phone call cannot wait, huh?"
His voice was dripping with annoyance, though his gaze remained fixed on Mika.
“Why, what are you doing? Ha, ha, you do silly things as usual,”
she replied sarcastically .
Killua scoffed and let out another small laugh, still keeping hold of the phone and of Mika.
"No, I don't know what you mean,"
he said, the sarcasm heavy in his voice.
"I am not doing anything silly at all."
He leaned his head closer to Mika's in a way that implied he was not telling the truth.
"I'm just hanging out with Mika right now,"
Killua replied in the same sarcastic tone as Mina, though he couldn't help but roll his eyes as he spoke. He shifted his gaze to focus on Mika again, his expression softening as he looked at her.
"What's so important that you couldn't wait a few minutes?"
he asked Mina, still keeping his tone sarcastic.
“There is a nightclub that Mika and I want to go to,”
when Mina said,
“Nightclub,”
Killua’s face changed, because if she went there, it would mean that men would be there, and he didn’t want that.
Killua's expression darkened slightly as Mina mentioned the nightclub, and he let out a deep sigh.
"I know what sort of place that is,"
he said, his tone serious and somewhat protective.
"And that's not where Mika should be, especially not without me."
A few strands of his white hair blew in the slight breeze from the open window.
"Why are you free to go? No, you don't have the right to..."
But Killua interrupted her in a cold tone.
"I have every right to keep Mika from certain places where she might get hurt, or even worse,"
Killua said, his tone firm. He still held Mika close, and the love and tenderness for her was obvious, despite his sternness.
"I'm not going to allow her to be in danger just for the simple purpose of 'having fun'."
Killua's tone was stern and serious as he interrupted Mina, and his white hair blew in the slight breeze.
"You know I don't like Mika being out without me,"
he said, his tone becoming somewhat sharper.
"That particular place isn't a good place for her, and it might not be good for you either."
He looked at Mina, his gaze somewhat cold.
"I'd advise you to rethink your plans."
"For real, it's just a nightclub, Killua."
"I'm not convinced it's 'just a nightclub',"
Killua said firmly.
"There will be men, there will be drinks, and that's not a good combination."
He had a look of concern and protectiveness on his face.
"I'm not letting Mika go there, that decision is final."
His tone was confident, and he expected Mina to comply.
“Look who is talking about protection, a hired killer... he says these words, what a sarcasm,”
Mina says as she reminds him of his past, which he wants to get rid of.
Killua's expression darkened slightly as Mina made this comment about his past, and he took a deep breath and held back his annoyance.
"I've changed,"
he said softly but firmly.
"Now that I've met Mika, I've realized that there's more to life than the job I used to do."
He let out a small laugh.
"And anyway, you're one to talk about protecting people. You'd sell your sister's soul if it meant personal gain."
"Haha, it doesn't matter now. You're arrogant. Mika doesn't deserve you."
Killua let out a deep sigh and closed his eyes, seemingly trying to hide his annoyance.
"What's so arrogant about wanting to keep Mika safe?"
he asked, his tone somewhat sharp.
"I'd do anything for her, even if you don't think she deserves me, I believe that I deserve her."
“The important thing is, fuck you, just Killua,”
says and hangs up on him.
Killua's expression was stunned for a moment as Mina hung up, and then he let out a deep sigh and put the phone down by his side. He looked at Mika, who was likely aware of the conversation that had happened, and he seemed to be struggling with what he wanted to say.
"I'm sorry if I seem overbearing,"
he said finally, in a tone softer and less confident than before.
"But I can't... I don't want you getting hurt."
“No, Killua, don’t worry. I like you protecting me, haha. You know Mina, she is very temperamental, but she has a good heart.”
She caresses his face with her fingers.
Killua's expression softened as Mika caressed his face, and he took her hand and lightly kissed the back of it before moving it away.
"I know, it's just..."
he said, his voice quieter than before.
"I don't want anything to happen to you, you mean so much to me. I'd rather be overbearingly protective than see you in pain."
He looked at Mika, his gaze gentle and full of love and adoration.
“Haha, my love, you are my wonderful protector,”
Mika hugs him.
Killua's face lit up with a warm smile as Mika called him her protector, and he returned her hug, pressing his body against hers and breathing in her scent.
"I'm so glad I'm yours,"
he said, his voice full of heartfelt emotion.
"I love you, Mika. You mean the world to me, and I'll be your wonderful protector forever."
He leaned his head against her shoulder and closed his eyes, enjoying the embrace.
Killua looked at the forearm and knew that it was time to sleep, Killua carried Mika in his arms
Killua picked up Mika in his arms, his strength surprising even himself. She seemed so light and delicate.
He shifted his arm under her, making sure that she was supported as he continued carrying her.
"Let me take you to bed, dear,"
he said softly.
"I want to spend some peaceful time with you before we rest."
He smiled gently at her as he continued to hold her in his arms and walked toward the bedroom.
Killua's eyes were slightly heavy, and he yawned a bit as he looked at Mika. She was small and light in his arms, and he found no trouble carrying her to his bed.
He moved his white hair out of the way and gently placed Mika on the bed, lying down beside her and wrapping his arm around her. He let out a deep sigh and closed his eyes, still slightly tired but mostly happy to have Mika in his arms again.

Eli's mom calling the school to complain about him being bullied every day. Such kudos to the actor for once again going into pre-hawk Eli
Do you think Eli has a little sibling?
So pretty sure people can't give kids tattoos without parental permission and Eii's parents don't know, even though he takes his shirt off at the competitions. So, do they just not come? Is he not worried about them checking social media? (because they did do research on Johnny so they do try and keep an eye on that stuff) or is he using his fake id or does Rico not care?
Also I did spot that oopsie. He threw his jacket onto his back in one shot and is carrying it in the next because you do not want to touch anything with a un-bandaged tattoo. Which, again, why aren't these tattoos getting proper care? And he just comes back every time he dyes his hair? Blue and now red.
Local tattoo parlor that tattoos teenagers without parental consent. (Maybe Eli forged his moms signature?)
Demetri is always the best person to have as canary to the dojo. He caught on super fast as to what Daniel is trying to teach him and why but also shows a lack of patience for it which pretty much everyone but Robby and Sam have expressed, including Anthony.
I'm not flexible and kinda suck at balance. Listen demetri you are in the right spot.
Can I at least use a roller? I will say I do love Demetri's hole poking at pretty much every karate studio in the valley. Also got a splinter. He just brings a good sense of reality.
First official job as a co-sensei, bring up Johnny's trauma but as a lesson so all the kids, not just Miguel know how to get out of a choke hold. Kudos to Johnny. Also probably one of the benefits of having two co-sensei's means not having to use Miguel for every example and lesson.
Johnny spends a season and a half trying to get Robby back, then Kreese knows he exists and spends the rest of the season trying to guilt Johnny about Robby. He knows, and also Robby doesn't need to be taught by Johnny. He doesn't need to be in karate if he doesn't want to. Let he kid be in soccer and skateboarding. But noo gotta make him a pawn.
Kreese shoving Johnny's all-in lesson back at him. Even though Johnny could've meant that for anything else. Go all in on this plate of nachos or owning a dojo.
Yasmine is in france.
I totally forgot that because Moon is dating Hawk that means Moon is now one of Aisha's friends, which is clearly very awkward. Also why is moon sitting with her and Tory at a 'girls table' rather than with Hawk?
They're at applebees again, the place Johnny can't go.
Demetri's yelp review: Where to begin? This establishment doesn't warrant the name. How they are still in business, I have no idea. The dojo employs very unprofessional sensei like they just picked someoneup off the street! (Kreese) He doesn't take into accoun the safety and personal boundaries of the students at all! Now, beyond that, the facility is in dire need of a major facelift (demetri give Johnny a break on this one it used to look so much worse and Miggy put so much ahrd work into it) I almost expected to see cockroaches running past the enterance. It may look badass on the outside, but this dojo leaves very much to be desired.
The complaint about Kreese is valid. The complaint about the place...I mean maybe but it's improved a lot and Demetri as one of the first round of big intakes should've noticed that, but he was too busy correcting Kreese's tattoo.
I also want to take into account that the cobra kai dojo is .4 miles away from applebees which maybe explains why this is the unofficial cobra hangout. That it's marked $$ which means moderately expensive and that this is either demetri's only review (doubt it) or the only yelp review for the dojo.
Demetri's username is DMan2002
Robby is ready to be dance battle partners with Sam, which is cute.
Is Demetri flirting with Sam? With the skin versus shirts? Who said you had to do the balance wheel with Sam? Why not Robby?
Giant rocks in the dojo. Gravel path through the grass, and it looks like the ko pond has moved. Really there isn't a lot of space here for students. Also is that a sharp metal border to the gravel path? These kids are barefoot 90% of the training.
Demetri: Johnny isn't a teacher he's can't give us a bad grade, we're paying him. Also Demetri: Here's a note from my mom excusing me from extensive arm and leg movement.
Demetri wants a workbook to learn karate, Daniel should dig out that book he was learning from in TKK1.
Again I love Demetri because again he shows that the ways Johnny and Daniel were taught don't work for everyone.
Demetri: My best friend is threatening me.
Daniel: I know what you're going through.
I know that was meant for Cobra Kai turning your world upside down, but still that's how it came off. 😂
Johnny trying in an person method again 6 months later with Robby's new board possibly board number 3 or 4
I love that he came baring a non-karate gift and one that Robby is actually into, because it shows he is somewhat aware of Robby's interests other than a photo of Robby as a soccer champ.
Apartment 3 with an eviction notice. I hope Robby got all his stuff out of there. Also want to point out this is a different hallway then before, the whiteboard is gone and the space where it might've been is also gone.
I can't believe that Shannon didn't contact Johnny again to be like hey I left my kid for...6 months alone? Just fyi please come pay our bills or pick him up. Because she's been gone six months right? Without a peep?
They have to vacate by July 31st. Which what about Robby and Shannon's things?
Johnny: Hey where'd my son go? (Daniel you were supposed to tell him months ago)
Shannons voice mail: Hey it's shan, talk some words. Maybe I'll call you back. Also the way he clicks on his phone doesn't look like he's picking a number from his contacts, he's physically dialing her number meaning he does have it memorized.
Robert Swayze Keene
Sam and Robby bonding over watching Dirty Dancing, Robby forced by his mom, Sam just loving it in general. Demetri prefers donnie darko (which uh...is a choice)
Wednesday, new issue of Dungeon Lord came out. I love that Demetri is ready to pick up anything they may want from the comic book store and must go do that asap but please keep his chicken.
Mall food court restaurants include Dantonio's pizza and wings and American Deli, neither of which explain Robby's burger.
Tory and her Applebee's brownie hot fudge sundae that she offers Miguel just the melted ice cream from. 😂
Miguel about ready to slam face first into a glass wall of not expecting Tory and Sam to know each other and already have beef. Both Cobra Kai and Miyagi do need like boards of relationships changed frequently for feuding purposes. He should've asked Moon instead. Ps I love Miguels' red and black hoodie and I want it.
Miguel is the cutest and should've sent it and not listened to Tory. His other creations in a similar vein, Sam loved those. But he doesn't know that Tory and Sam already met and don't get along.
Tory: that's so bad set your computer on fire.
Miguel after spending hours on this project and putting his heart into it in the most shocked heartbroken voice: It's that bad?
Between Tory and Johnny giving Miguel kinda shitty dating advice, he's lucky he's gotten a date.
Johnny parked in Daniel's spot:
Which Johnny, if you can park in his spot then he's not there. But this is also scared dad showing up to find out where the hell his son is and why Shannon's not answering the phone.
Random staffer at North Hollywood working with Anoush: Jason
This is the third LaRusso auto he's went to looking for Robby. I suppose Anoush doesn't know Robby is 16 and that's his dad. Robby did lie. Anoush probably should've been filled in that Robby is 16. He literally tells the father of a missing boy he can't tell the father where the missing boy is.
Johnny punches Anoush in the side after pinning him the hood of the car.
To be fair, Anoush thinks (as far as we know) Robby is over 18 and he shouldn't devuldge coworkers locations in a situation like this. On the other hand Robby lied and is not over 18 and is 16 and missing and it looks like you've kidnapped him and are holding him ransom as revenge for karate soap opera bullshit. (Does anyone ever explain the full situation to Anoush?)
So Robby is still working at Anoush's North Hollywood location. Which mean he is making some money. He's also living with Daniel which Daniel should've told Johnny.
And for how pissed and scared Johnny probably is, he really didn't rough up Anoush as badly as I remembered. Mostly just scared him and punched his side (which probably did really hurt)
but also the last person from LaRusso auto that interacted with Johnny sicced a motorcycle gang on him and burned his car down and tried to attack him with a bat and the last time Johnny saw Anoush he was with Louie Jr.
Dungeon Lord #1 of 5, costs $3.99. The return of the warlock narfoor. (Apparently he just died)
They should've played the Jaws them to Hawk's mohawk seen from the otherside of the comics
Demetri has Yelp Elite status, I don't know what that means. 😂 But I guess removing your reviews could ruin it?
Demetri nicknames the guys with Eli "Rocksteady and bebop" which is nicer nicknames then they got.
Eli seems to waver for a second when Demetri says his name. But then his reinforcements show up. Which, how did Eli know he'd be at this exact comic book store? Surely there's more than one in the Valley.
Chris being his sweetheart self. The Bobby of this group.
Demetri knocks over the sunglass holder but it's back up as soon as the cobras come past, that one staff member is fast.
Did this nerd color coordinate his shoes with his outfits?
Robby and Sam: When are we going to need to fight in a circle? Answer: When Cobra Kai/aka Hawk comes for Demetri and he can't fight well enough so you gotta protect the boy in the middle.
Robby kicks hawk in the face.
I would like to point out everyone standing around watching this fight are adults. No one did shit to stop this fight or protect these kids.
Once again proving that the general populace in the Valley are just here for the blood and the fights.
Will forever love the Sam and Robby kick ass and save Demetri and then hand Demetri his chicken that they saved for him.
So Johnny doesn't even try to confront Daniel. He just drinks and gets sad. Like he beats up Anoush in a panic to find his son but once he knows his son is somewhere safe he backs down. Which is super sad but also very telling.
Also he drinks a lot, but this is the first time we've seen him so drunk he just falls over because this one really hurt him. Thank goodness Carmen's there to be like oh boy you need some food and to not be alone.
I said Eli was a nerd for color coordinating, but Daniel did you buy Robby clothes to match you and the rest of your family?
Welcome to the LaRusso home, you get a new wardrobe, on Saturday's we wear blue with stripes. Literally says "glad you're part of this family"
Demetri and Daniel bonding over Game of Thrones. But then he has to be such an embarrassing dad:
Daniel: show me sand the floor, in this hard everything rock and stone and tile room right next to a table....again, maybe not the best spot.
Daniel finally learned he's gotta take it slower with Demetri. I'd like to also point out that Robby had Daniel micromanaging every task he did for who knows how long before revealing the lesson and Daniel did all the work on his own for weeks before cracking and demanding Mr. Miyagi explain himself. Demetri hasn't been in the dojo very long. He needs time.
Proud of Moon for chewing out Hawk. But also Moon: I like your hair and I like your muscles but I don't like your attitude. Which fair, but those are all things Hawk changed to become Hawk and didn't have as Eli.
I don't think it stuck that Moon broke up with Hawk over her bullying Demetri, which must be a little confusing since Moon was friends with Yasmine and hung out with bullies.
Congrats to Johnny for buying the equipment on his wish list
I'm pretty sure Kreese just slithers around the dojo looking for openings to take over and information to store away. And boy did he just find a weak spot. Hawk: I lost a fight to Miyagi-do. Kreese: the fight isn't over until you say it's over.
Kreese, how does that make sense huh?
I think Carmen made Johnny a grilled cheese sandwich and was just an ear to listen, which means there's a chance she learned that Daniel absconded with Robby. I suppose from Johnny's point of view it's totally possible that Shannon left Daniel with Robby, which might be why it hurts more. When in reality Shannon bailed and Daniel just swooped in. Amanda also deserves to be pissed.
Carmen is maybe the best person to talk to Johnny about this and how bad things just get worse and worse. Carmen didn't want Miguel to fight because her husband has a fighting cage match type thing with many many enemies. Carmen: Be the better man, rise above the rivalry.
Which he does try to do. So far it's been hitting anoush, a dick billboard, and upsurping Daniel at Vally fest. While Daniel's daughter has been in a hit and run related to Johnny. Fixed his car for free. His cousin set said car on fire with a motorcycle gang. Gave him a new car. Upped his rent and everyone elses's from the entire strip mall. Sent out a targeted advertisement. Tried to tell the all valley staff that Johnny is worse then Kreese, Silver and Barnes combined to ban Cobra Kai from the All Valley. Taught his son, hired his son, and adopted his son.
I'm surprised Carmen didn't tell Johnny. "Did this guy kidnap your son? Like why is he living with this guy?"
Tory uses old school vernacular "my girlfriend bartends at a place in Cahuenga." (Totally originally thought it was her actual girlfriend and not just female friend)
Every night at 10:36 in this abandoned play ground there's a flight that leaves that Tory likes. Last flight out of Burbank. Honestly I hope she gets to go somewhere on a fun trip on a flight out of California.
One of those moments where I'm like ah yes this is not filmed in LA:
Like it's summer and so hot that I don't even want to turn on the stove top and this girl is like yes let me turn on the fire place to roast a marshmallow. (Girl just microwave it) It's supposed to be summer and everyone's in hoodies and she's in a long sleeve shirt.
She calls them 'sam-mores', which is adorable and just like her father naming all his recipes.
Robby pulls away from the kiss first because his brain starts up and is like oh no if I kiss this girl and fuck up this relationship I'm homeless again. Which really is a sucky position he should never have been put in.
Cobra student damage: one spray painted x over the wooden dojo logo, there was also a light on which makes me wonder if Daniel just always leaves teh lights on or if he was there when this all happened.
Because of the spray paint dick, it being Johnny's fault would seem logical.
They t-p'd the trees, broke doors off the hinges. it also looks like they just dumped trash everywhere. Knocked over some bonsai, broke some pots, spray painted thier punching bag:
Did the cut that open and stuff it full of clothes or was that what it was made out of?
Interior mostly looks like they laid things over and knocked things over or took things down. Like they didn't break the paper screens. They just kinda unpluged the lamps and laid them on their sides away from the outlets.
Taking the medal of honor wasn't cool.
Dumbest choice Hawk could've ever made. He literally signed it.
Here's the thing though with this, Daniel literally owns a bunch of dealerships and does car repair all the time, yes this sucks but it's fixable. So far everything show except the missing medal of honor is repairable or not even broken. Just a mess.
And also Daniel's insurance should cover all the repairs and fixes.
On top of that, unlike with when TKK3 happened, Daniel shared Mr. Miyagi's house location with the Valley by making it a place of business. Other than the theft most all of it is common high school mischief night pranks. They didn't destroy the doors they removed from the hinges. They didn't break a lot of glass. They stole 1 thing and then did a bunch of vandalism and it's mostly toilet paper and trash.
I don't think this was what Kreese meant either when he said to continue the fight.
And really Johnny has an alibi, he was crying on Carmen's couch.
Like you don't know? (He doesn't) Daniel's shoes on the mat is disrespectful.
Johnny doesn't say he didn't slug Anoush.
Daniel drove the car there, why didn't he show Johnny the car? Like to everyone not involved it looks like Daniel just ran in wild and started accusing Johnny without proof. But the car is literally signed. And with how much Johnny cared about his own car he would for sure care about what happened to Daniel's.
Chris says he never liked it there, but to be fair I think it's not necessarily Johnny but Hawk and how the cobras have become. I do wonder though why so many students left if they didn't know what happened. Because it should look like Johnny didn't do anything. Unless Hawk's been sort of bullying them too. The loss of those students are on Hawk's actions and Hawk using all the new students as lackeys.
Like Johnny tried to reign Hawk in but Kreese just added fuel to the fire and because Johnny didn't have the same heart to hearts he did with Miguel with Hawk, Hawk never got the same reasons as to why he needed to not be a bully and be sportsmanlike.
But kind of like how demetri is a canary in a dojo coal mine, Moon breaking up with Eli should've been eye opening, especially the "i don't date bullies" after he'd been bullied.
I suppose his thought was Demetri trashed our dojo on yelp so we'll physically trash his dojo.

Kinds of Kindness Review
Welcome to the first movie of what I like to call: The Weirdest Triple Feature I've Ever Done, but y'know what? I was actually looking forward to all three of these movies. Yorgos Lanthimos made Poor Things, which was my pick to win Best Picture at the Oscars this year. I really like that movie. And this movie has a lot of the same actors! Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley... That's it. (Really? I could've sworn the guy who played the nihilist was in this movie.) But whatever! I'm probably really gonna like this movie!
What's The Movie About?
This movie has 3 parts; one about a guy falling out with the guy controlling his life, another about a cop's wife returning home from being lost at sea and being a replicant, and the third is about two cult members trying to find their messiah.
What I Like.
Willem Dafoe and Emma Stone were pretty good. So was the humor. I really liked the cinematography, there were shots when people were walking one direction and their refection on a set mirror made it look like they were coming from the opposite direction. That was cool. The cultists in the third story were kinda likable. They drove a purple Dodge Challenger and I sympathized with Emma Stone's character in that part, weirdly enough. There were a couple parts where one of Emma Stone's characters were explaining their dreams and I thought it was cool.
What I'm Not Sure I Like Or Not.
Uh... You changed the typical heading of this section Roan. Yeah. Maybe I'm being too nice but there's quite a bit of this movie that I found incredibly uncomfortable but I think I respect the movie from going there, or that was bad but I'm pretty sure that it was bad on purpose. Let's start with the uncomfortable stuff. This movie has forced abortions, Emma Stone cutting her fingers off so Jesse Plemons can eat them, and threesomes with Willem Dafoe. And the best part is that it always just comes out of nowhere. Clearly it's intentionally to take the audience off balance, but I need a little warning before you suddenly show an orgy on screen, aight? The nudity in this movie also feels gross, but not in the clinical way I liked in Poor Things, in a treating-women-like-livestock way. I mean, they literally are measuring boobs at one point. Also, Jesse Plemons. I don't know anything about him in real life, but he frightens me greatly. The only scary thing he does is the cannibalizing his Emma Stone thing, but even when his character is pathetic or a wallflower he just exudes an aura that makes me want to cry and plead for my life. (This is just because of his character in Civil War isn't it? SO WHAT IF IT IS BUGGNUTZ?) And now, the bad on purpose stuff. The acting and dialogue is awkward. It's almost exactly the same as it is in Poor Thing, but Poor Thing's setting was strange and out of time, so it made sense that everyone talked like weird Victorians. This could just be Yorgos's style though. The stories are confusing, morally speaking. I don't think they are supposed to be happy stories or that you're supposed to idolize the characters, but each one seems to have a moral that is either "Comply and fall in line with the man controlling your life" or "Listen to your darkest impulses, they are always correct." My read could be completely wrong I suppose but I still got that impression.
Final Summation.
There was this movie that came out last year called Saltburn. It starred Barry Keoghan as an obsessed serial killer and it was a good, but incredible uncomfortable movie to watch. When I did a personal ranking of all the movies I saw last year for my friends, I put it relatively low on the list because there were several moments I had to turn my head away from the screen and couldn't watch. Kinds of Kindness is basically Poor Things if it made me feel like I was watching Saltburn.
I felt like I was being held at gunpoint watching this movie. Usually when someone says something like that, they are complaining about the length of the movie, but I'm not. (It is quite a long movie but I didn't really feel it, hence why I'm only mentioning it now.) I'm instead talking about how uncomfortable and frankly, distressed the movie made me feel. Y'know that joke from Family Guy "How David Lynch Stole Christmas"? I was the kid. Only I did look away, and I'm not going to leave a plate of black coffee out for this movie. That's really what my final conclusion for this movie is. I couldn't really watch about half the movie, so I can't really recommend it. Watch Poor Things instead I guess.

alright ep 1
intros 🥺 another reminder how young the team are meant to be. gwen was described as late 20s as well. ik their ages has been a point of contention (esp owen considering, yanno, med school), but they were all always meant to be in their 20s and i think about that a lotttt. ough.
also 'stylish / arrogant'... ive always found it amusing how torchwood come across. it's so over-the-top it almost feels satirical of 2000s action n sci fi fashion and aesthetics yanno like. fdskjf. the action movie swagger lmao. they def come across as more arrogant in the scripts, like there's a flippancy to them like they think theyre hot shit and they dont take their job seriously. i think the actors did a lot of work to humanize them and ensure they did come across like they gave a shit about their work, which is good bc ive seen people complain that theyre all incompetent as is. which, they are, but im glad it comes across more like they're disasters with emotional problems as opposed to cocky little cunts, ig. i would've liked them less if they were even more showy than they already are. in the show it's campy and endearing; in the scripts it edges towards being unbearable, imo.
gd i l o v e owen & tosh's early s1 dynamic. i am... Not a big towen fan and i esp hate how awkward and lovelorn she is around him in s2, i much prefer whatever they were doing in, say, episode 3, in that scene where theyre practically eye-fucking at the bar. this lil moment has the same energy as 'that's how i'd like to go' 'i'm sure it could be arranged', and i am a FAN of tosh being mean to his annoying lil ass, lemme tell you. i also love how this + them giggling together when gwen first walks in establishes them as friends... ugh but then we dont see more of it. sigh. but hehe owen being a pest. i luv him sm
ok and then
i hate this scene but g-d. worst bisexual ever. i love it. i feel represented HFDKSJ bi culture i cant lie. not the gross consent shit going on (fucking obviously) but the rest of it. (well. MY bi culture as a fellow greedy slutty bisexual FHDSKJF idk abt yall) 'owen in the middle' yeah ill bet. exactly where he wants to be. literally if owen got a girlfriend and a boyfriend i think he'd calm down. should i put this in the owen bi comp. i love evil bisexuality.
hi so the other day i found out that the beeb recently released all the original torchwood scripts?? [link here!] so ofc i went thru them for owen purposes. will now be compiling some of the notable highlights + discussing them a bit, sans excitable screaming (i had a fucken TIME two nights ago fhdsfjk).
#unicorn owen. btw.#also i love gwens monologue i already knew of it from the deleted scenes cuz they did film it#im gonna tag the final one as torchwood posting but not the rest ok. for the sake of my tag system
