Congrats to Markiplier on his Prime show or whatever but now that I have had to listen to 60 billion repeats of the same damn ad for it I can pretty much guarantee that now the chances of me watching it are less than zero

mark's subbreddit has become toxic (as some say) due of trying to keep teos on top10 as much as possible or complimenting how good teos is. basically whole subreddit is full of teos and "go no stop" posts.

let me also add two cents of it. first of all, we as a mark's fans, this is the first time we have a show on a streaming platform and it's amazing, finally seeing people starts to finally believe him. this also gives him a little boost up for creating more bigger projects and possibly we get more projects that is tended to streaming services. feels like we finally made it but it's still long journey to make it.

i understand those "go no stop" posts can be annoying but if it really bothers you, you can always ignore those posts. scroll. not that hard but don't come to people who genuinely trying to keep the show top10 (i think it's fallen by now). we take mark's dream seriously in here and i mean by that is we believe mark's projects or part of it. we genuinely think show being top10 can actually help him and get more recognition, especially the show what doesn't have any marketing whatsoever besides from mark himself.

second of all, how long we have been waiting for this show! 3 YEARS!!! of course we take time and stream it (whatever you can or not). i'm still that kind of space like holy shit this actually is released and we can watching whatever we want. nobody is saying you have to watch it or like it, but don't come at people and complaining we like the show and it's 1/10 like okay, it's your opinion and it's not that serious. we are just happy the show is finally out and good it is actually. can be worse but isn't. let us enjoy. just ignore us, block us if you are so bothered by it.

we don't actually force nobody to watch this show, it's up to you.

we want to keep mark's dreams up and we continue to do so. we want to see him being happy, knowing we as fans, we genuinely enjoy his projects and can't wait to see it more. also there is so many youtubers out there who cares about only money and money i mean how much they flex and buying cars and big mansions in their videos. you know how many those videos exists? A LOT! seeing mark's passion is doing movies and interactive shows and tv shows, shows there isn't a lot of youtubers left who actually is doing for themselves and for fans not for sake of money. yall just hate to seeing it.

Oh I get to talk about Natewantstobattle and you will regret this.

So! I'm not a NWTB expert so don't expect a full bulletpoint presentation BUT I can share my experience!

Natewantstobattle is a nerdcore turned original artist who made songs about video games, anime and cartoons for years and only recently (last year I think) decided to leave nerdcore behind and focus entirely on original music.

He's made some BANGER songs, has the voice of an angel and seems to have the same enthusiasm about dark/demonic fictional imagery as myself ^_^

He's made a lot of FNAF songs which is how I found him. His music got him noticed by Random Encounters (RE) who make small-budget indie musicals based on video games and decided to make a five-part special musical based on FNAF for which they reached out to get Nate involved. He appeared and sang as a prominent character in that musical as well as plenty of others that they made. Markiplier was also in that musical.

Nate is popular with a lot of Jacksepticeye and Markiplier fans as his content focuses on similar games, leading to the same people finding him. Because of that, the fans' habit of making characters or "egos" for youtubers from their videos also extended to Nate and honestly while I still listen to his music I haven't been active in the fandom for a while so I have no idea how many egos there are now, but I'm desperate to rejoin the fandom space and catch up!

Anyway, the egos I'm very well aware of are Natemare and Phantom.

Haha yeah, he kidnapped Matpat for that music video.

The video in question is for Mangled, a 2~ minute song based on FNAF 2. The character he portrayed was an instant hit with the fans and was subsequently dubbed "Natemare" as a play on nightmare.

Also in 2018 Nate released a limited edition Natemare shirt thus confirming the name as canon and also I have that shirt so cough cough.

Secondly, Phantom!

As far as I'm aware there's practically no canonically confirmed information about him other than he makes deals and steals people's souls. That lead to a lot of fans calling him a demon, including myself.

It took me five years to put together a cosplay for Phantom because I couldn't find one part! You'd think it would be the staff, right? Impossible to find an exact replica, right? No. It was the bloody shirt. I couldn't find a single freaking long sleeve red button up shirt for YEARS. I've got it now, though.

His original albums so far include Sandcastle Kingdoms, Paid in Exposure and To Let Go. That one is actually currently coming out one song at a time on his YouTube channel and music streaming platforms. There's only two songs out at the moment and I think the plan was to release them slowly until they were all released by the time the album itself dropped, but it was announced last month that it's been brought forwards to the 18th! That's in FOUR DAYS!!!! The last song to come out was Forgotten on Tuesday which is the one you saw me blogging about. It slaps so fucking hard you have no idea.

If you want any personal recommendations for his music, my favourites of his original work are Phantom, Forgotten, All I See, Perfect by Design and Branded.

PIf you look up Phantom you may see it titled as a Hazbin Hotel song but actually it came out a good while before Hazbin Hotel did, he just realised how well the character of Phantom matched with Alastor from HH and released a remastered version with some of Alastor's voice lines over it.

My favourites of his nerdcore songs are Mangled, No More, Stay the Course, Time to Move on and Ask for More. That last one is about Food Wars. I don't even watch that show, that's just how good the song is.

Oh! As an addition that I almost forgot to talk about, he's also a voice actor! He's appeared in Attack on Titan, Fairy Tail, he plays the main character in Luck and Logic and has appeared in multiple video games like Dream Daddy, Yandere Simulator and Monster Prom.

Hello people, so I have like 0 influence but this is tumblr so y'know we never know.

I was rewatching some old fangames videos from @markiplier and I decided to stop on Markiplier's Aventures 2 (here's the link to the video:

AND after it I decided to look for any updates from JeffKyler14 because the game is very touching and I found out that he was struggling heavily with the release of the game because life and his team let him go.

So I just wanted to try and get at least one person to go look at his channel because he's passionate but he is loosing hope and his dream is starting to feel impossible to him!

He needs HELP from code monkeys, from game designers, support, financial support. He made a game that impacted @markiplier, and that impacted all of the fans who watched the videos, as a community even as a community of fans of some youtuber we should stick together in some way and if not to help John then to help Mark see that even after years; We are still a community, we still love him and we still show him that.

I honestly think that Markiplier's Adventure 3 would be the best way to show him that, because it already has, and even though Mark is growing and our community is growing but the roots remain!

TLDR: Get Markiplier's Adventure 3 back in the works and help someone see that his work and talents are not wasted and that his dream is ABSOLUTELY at his reach

i'm a film student. here's how i felt about the edge of sleep.

for a bit of background on my "credentials" so to speak: i'm in my second to last semester of studying digital media/journalism at my university. in my program you are required to take a "digital media core" that teaches you the technical aspect of film as well as analysis and a number of writing and screen/scriptwriting classes that respectfully i performed extremely well in. i don't throw "film student" around lightly even though my emphasis is in journalism.

and here's an obligatory disclaimer that this is about the show, not mark. anyway.

overall i found the show enjoyable. it was a very fun watch featuring (and produced by) a youtuber that i've been a fan of for almost a decade. i have to say this, though, and it's going to sound harsh before i get a chance to explain what i mean by it: there is a distinction between enjoyable and "good". i liked the five nights at freddy's movie. that doesn't mean it was good.

i'm not going to come on here and say edge of sleep was bad, because it wasn't! i do think it was good. however (and clearly mark's influence on these things is more than likely slim to nil so don't come into my replies yelling at me for criticizing the show), there were a lot of things that just were kind of okay to me.

firstly, the whale. i believe this was in episode one. frankly? terrible first impression. i found the pitched down voice entirely out of place. it would have been better i think (especially considering the whale only talks that one time and never again) for it to be whalesong with subtitles, the same way they provided subtitles with safet. to be quite honest i think if not for markiplier i maybe would have turned the show off or found it an irredeemable thing based on what had been shown so far, but because i am also a film student, it was likely exacerbated by the fact that i have the mind and knowledge for film. things like this affect "normal people" or "laymen" less, and even aside from what i'm studying i also know my standards in general are. um. high. lmao. in fairness yes for this point i am nitpicking, but a first episode is the "hook" of a show so for it to have had something in it that took me out of it so much was disheartening.

some of the writing felt a bit janky and to be fair i suspect that comes from it being adapted from long-form storytelling into a six-episode, twenty-minute-segment form. i'd like to point out specifically a lot of the problems that i have with the writing/character approach apply mostly to matteo's character. with him i felt there was a lot of, "what the fuck i can't believe this. well whatever i actually don't care anymore so let's do that." he continually, more than anyone else, went back and forth on what his hard limits were in that situation. there wasn't any scene where they were trying to convince him of something (or convince him to do something!) where i felt he actually put up any kind of resistance. it all felt too easy. he should have been more in the middle of the spectrum, for or against, or completely on one side or the other and taken a longer time to convince, rather than swinging from one end of the extreme to neutral in the span of 30 seconds. i like matteo as a character. i think his plot-related decisions were poorly written.

it was also difficult for me to find really any of the characters likeable or particularly interesting or feel sympathetic to them and their struggles. it felt almost as if the writers ran with the assumption that it would be natural to care about the characters because they're characters in the show and you "have to". as a viewer i was never able to really "build a relationship" with the characters. i didn't find linda particularly interesting. frankly i really didn't think dave was a very compelling protagonist either (but this could also be a criticism of the "chosen one" archetype). i didn't care much for ruth. i think the characters i liked the most were katie and dr. castaneda.

something with a technical aspect of the show and its sense of pacing: i thought the "x hours without sleep" endcards were. i mean. they did the job. they certainly did the job. i found them a bit lazy. is it possible for me to say both that "it was clever" and "it was lazy"? that's how i feel. after the initial sequence of dave and matteo driving to the party, it was never dark out again that i can recall. the characters weren't sleeping because they couldn't sleep. why did they never do anything at night? why did the directors (or the editor or whoever) choose the "cop-out" option over ever shooting at night? was it budgetary? was it a time constraint? regardless of the "why", it was noticeable. it felt like one endless day instead of several days on end. there was also (sorry to costuming and makeup) to me almost no visual change in the characters, or there was only sometimes a change. there was one scene where dave had deep circles under his eyes and i was like, "yeah, that's a guy who hasn't slept in a long time." other times later in the plot it was almost unnoticeable. the physical variables that could convey a passage of time (darkness, personal appearance) were missing, i thought.

perhaps they're leaving it open for a season 2, but the ending felt very "whatever" to me. like, okay, we're doing this now. sure. there's a war. okay. aristera. sure. whatever.

additionally: how did they know aristera was 1) real and 2) how to get there? there was no scene or glimpse of them looking on a map or googling (which they have to have been able to do because phones were working, unless the battery had ran out which was also not established in the text) it or anything, so how did they know? how did matteo know where to fly them? it just felt like there were a lot of things that only made sense because they had to magically make sense and not because there was an actual explanation.

to be honest i thought the acting was fine. i don't have anything glaring to comment on with the acting and also, that isn't my area of expertise anyway. i heard some people were saying the acting was too "meh", but i was talking to a friend about it and she pointed out, like, "they're supposed to be sleep deprived. the acting isn't gonna look like normal acting." there's that for your consideration as well.

so do i think it was good? sure. i'd be more likely to say i thought it was fine. do i think for a non-fan it would be a must-see? probably not. do i think it was TECHNICALLY groundbreaking, in terms of direction writing et cetera? no. it had a lot to accomplish based on the source material in not a lot of time and not a lot of budget and you can tell. they did do a good job with what they were provided in terms of resources, but it could have been better.

i was also watching charlie(as in penguinz0 moist charlie)'s review of the show (got 2.5m in before i decided to write my own first) and he brought up a point i think cannot be understated: people who aren't already fans of mark will be less forgiving of these things. i think what happened with me was that i turned off the "markiplier goggles" and saw the show objectively instead of "markiplier did this".

there were also obviously constraints like i said before that would be out of mark's control (direction at large, budget, etc.) so i feel like it's also incredibly unfair and a misrepresentation of the project as a whole to just call it markiplier's thing. i think this whole whatever that's going on with amazon and this and iron lung is unfair, because mark did not write the edge of sleep. he DID write iron lung. for that to be hanging in the balance is absurd. any writing criticism like my own that gets directed towards the edge of sleep may also be unfairly applied to iron lung before it even has legs to stand on. so just in case it wasn't crystal clear: i know iron lung will be good. i want iron lung. that doesn't mean the edge of sleep couldn't have been better.

Even with my knowledge about cults I should've been more careful when watching the show.

Whenever I saw certain scenes with Jonathan's Jesus, it looked like I was watching a cult leader forcing himself unto others rather than optionally inviting. Those scenes didn't sit right with me, even with the soft, funny Jesus he portrayed, the cultish side was still there.

I cannot assume that everyone in the production team is a zionist or racist or is involved in whatever Angel Studios' agenda is, but it is worrysome that so many people are involved and could potentially be brainwashed by these assholes.

A few of the actors don't seem so bad, George, Giovanni, Luke, Paras and some seem like genuinely good hearted human beings. They spoke up in favor of some staff with pride flags when conservative christians tried to get the show cancelled. Then they also helped do a fundraiser for a fan who had a terminal illness.

Luke even mentioned being pro Ukraine in a video on TikTok. (Lightly mentioning of course). So it's baffling to me that he's not speaking up about Palestine. He's Arabic and a very proud one, always speaking up about how Arab representation matters, his parents are from Egypt, which I believe was also being bombarded by Israel a few weeks ago too (probably still is and will continue to be). Paras I believe is Indian and he's also on the same track.

I can't speak up against the rest of the cast who haven't made any statements because I don't know what's going on behind countians. Luke had been struggling a bit with his starting career, so I fear they're twisting his arm on the topic. Maybe the others too.

In Luke's specific case, I know damn well that if he realized the mistake he's making and went to make his own things, he'd be incredibly successful! He's incredibly funny! If anyone who was a Markiplier fan, or a Game Grumps fan or Unus Annus fan who's reading this, know he's a fan of those people too and his sense of humor is right up there with them. He has SO much potential that it's baffling he's even working for Angel Studios right now.

And this is something seen in cults a lot. Good intentioned people being manipulated without them even noticing because of people in power, integrating them in activities, situations, jobs,etc that could help them or other people on large scales, but ultimately it just benefits whoever's in charge.

A lot of the cast members come from different backgrounds, religions, etc, but If I found out most of them turned to Christianity during or after this is over I'm going to be incredibly heartbroken...

Are people really victim shaming Vanessa and simping for an actual child murderer?!

Vanessa tried to stop William afton from killing a little girl and her brother, and he stabbed her in the stomach!

William afton killed multiple children including Mike's brother when he was young, and attempted to kill Mike and his little sister!

You guys need to get off tiktok! I'm pretty sure those serial killer edits have rotted your brains in the most horrific ways possible for you to shame vanessa for actually trying to help and possibly dying for it!

She's the victim! Not William, he made multiple people into his victims, including mostly children!

He got what he deserved, to get himself stabbed multiple times in his innards feeling exactly what he did to his daughter but much more times possibly worse if he's still alive somehow, just to live eternity suffering and rotting alive for what he did to those children and his own daughter, what he attempted to do to more innocent lives.

Don't know what movie afton's motives were (I know what the afton motive was in the games was but not in the movie, the movie is kinda different then the games in my opinion..i don't think Vanessa in the game is afton's daughter, but i doubt security breach is cannon to the lore to the fans i assume) whatever it is, no motive justifies murder especially towards the amount that he's caused to multiple lives of innocent children who didn't know any better.

Vanessa is the victim, if you are a victim shaming Vanessa your disgusting, seek therapy because you clearly need it it if you think a murderer is in the right to stab his own daughter, possibly killing her for trying to save innocent lives her father was trying to take.

Rant aside I really loved this movie, I'm not even a fan of fnaf but i loved this movie. I'm excited for the sequels I'll watch the movies, but i can't play the games it's too much for me.. I don't like jumpscares unless I expect the exact moment and second when it happens.

It's easy to digest for me i guess despite the lore dumping y'know I already knew the lore a bit before watching the movie. I mean knowing the basic lore before watching a movie about anything based on an existing thing (ex. mlp gen gen 4 & 5 movie, sonic the hedgehog, mario? Marios a bit of a stretch but if you know Mario lives in Brooklyn it'll make more sense where he's at..i would recommend the smbss its bad but its hilarious if your not taking it seriously i got off topic, sorry it happens)

But loved the movie, would watch again, in fact it's been playing for days on my DVD player, I can't stop it it plays without me knowing i don't even press play it starts playing then the Next thing I know I'm in the middle of the movie again..

Racism:

Yeah so remember how Jason said that they'd never have someone on the team make the skintones of characters to be lighter. Remember how he said that in those tweets above. Yeah well they did that they absolutely did that. They do it in the official poster merch, in the official music videos, thumbnails, and in the skins/ingame footage as well.

(Lots of the in-game whitewashing seems to be a side-effect of the shaders they are using, as they overexpose the footage and make everything lighter as a result. The difference in skintones is glaringly obvious, and definitely would've been tackled by the team by now if they cared about whitewashing as an issue.)

It took until Season 3 of MCD to have a single black character purposefully placed into the show. He had potential to be more than a side character, but the show was cancelled soon after his introduction. As far as I'm aware, Teony is still the only black character in all of Mystreet/Phoenix Drop High. She is a side character who is not included in the minigames or other modern content. Unless I'm misremembering, she doesn't appear in Mystreet in anything beyond Season 2.

Let's talk about Nana Ashida now. Or as she was known as up until late parts of Mystreet, "Kawaii-Chan." Good news! Jessica and crew realized that having an anime-obsessed neko-girl who works at a maid cafe and loves "shipping" and all things "Kawaii" was offensive, and changed her name as a result. Bad news! (Though it's not as if there was a very good out for this aside from acknowledging the stereotype, tearing out everything about her character, and rebuilding her from the ground up. Either you make your Japan stereotype Japanese, confirming she's a walking stereotype, or you make your Japan stereotype a white girl, and confirm that she the character is stereotyping Japanese people. Either way, they wrote an offensive stereotype and refuse to fix it, because the stereotype is intrinsically tied to her character, and all that is supposed to be appealing and likable about it.)

Fatphobia:

I don't even know what to say. Here is a roleplay video from 2018, where the sideplot is that Aphmau eats too many hamburgers, causing her to hiss at fruits and vegetables like a feral cat. She goes for a jog with aaron, where she fails miserably until being deceived that there is a... "wild hamburger" in the bushes. The video ends with her bursting into tears over turning down a cookie. Eating and food humor are common in this era of video from the Aphmau channel, and these topics are never handled well.

Basically every character who is implied to like food (aside from Nana/Kawaii-Chan, because of course a Japanese stereotype Cutesy Icon™ can't be fat, because being fat is not appealing in the eyes of the writers) is implied to also be both unhealthy and overweight. Three out of Four of the trivia bullet-points for Betty (FCU character) are about her love of food, because she genuinely has no other memorable traits. If I have to tell you what is wrong with this, I can't help you.

Abusive Workplace Allegations:

Back while it was still known as BluJay, Catface Studios was reportedly not a good place to work. Here are some twitter testimonies from ex-employees, ranging from things such as PTSD, to possible legal threats for speaking out about working conditions/experiences. (Some of the text is very small, click through to read better.)

A lot of these tweets are, at this point, deleted. Especially the more negative/accusatory ones. Some of them can still be found online, search for them if you're curious.

(And context for people unaware, _Castr_ aka Castor is the same person as The Chicken Shaman in MCD. He used to work on/be a part of a lot of Jess' old content, and was a writer on various projects for her for a VERY long time. I believe he was involved in the writing of MCD since Season 1, but if anyone has a source on that so I know I'm not misremembering, feel free to let me know. His sudden release was VERY shocking to me personally, seeing as how long he's been a part of Jess and Jason's work.)

Jess and Jason have also pretty iconically had beef with Sebastian Todd, the voice of Laurance. This beef is why Laurance rarely appears in videos, and was written out of Mystreet. Yep, that's right, kids as young as 13 were encouraged to apply for this! Or even 12, if your birthday was close enough to the application date. Though it mentions "promotion", there is no payment mentioned or listed anywhere on the document. Presumably promotion is referring to asking for more important jobs, such as writers or voice actors, though I don't know for certain. Despite the mention of "credit given to you as the body actor" I do not remember seeing body actors ever credited on Aphmau videos of this era. (If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me, but I checked a couple MCD S2 episodes that came out a couple months after this, and could only ever find VAs credited.)

I don't know how young anyone who applied or was accepted was, and I don't know what their working conditions were like. I personally doubt anyone accepted was paid for their time at all, though I have nothing to back that up.

Aggression towards fans:

This is more a point towards Jason specifically, but multiple times he has spoken out very... I don't even know how to phrase it. Agitatedly? Blame-y? Against fans on twitter for seemingly minimal or nonissues.

Hate that I have to make this a bullet point given how fetishistic and weird people online are about celebrities/internet personalities' IRL relationships, but unfortunately this is necessary. The summary is, Aphmau and Aaron's 4 year age gap (Freshman and Senior in highschool) displayed in Phoenix Drop High is based on Jessica and Jason's real life relationship. TLDR: Assuming the timeframe displayed in PDH is correct, their IRL ages suggest that Jessica was 14 and Jason was 18 when they started dating. This age gap is disturbing for obvious reasons.

Irresponsible Depictions of Abuse/Incest:

Ein is a character. He's certainly a character. If you don't know who he is, he appeared in Mystreet and Phoenix Drop High as a villain who wanted to romantically abuse and manipulate Aphmau. In some cases he succeeded. Towards the end of Mystreet Season 6, he was revealed to be Aphmau's sister. In contrast to his villainous persona in the main-story content, he appeared as friendly, teasing and even flirtatious in the mini-game and non-canon content. Many fans were upset to see him treated as a friendly member of the cast, instead of as the incestual abuser he is in canon.

Around mid-late 2018, many fans on tumblr were vocal about how they found Ein's story and character handled to be upsetting and uncomfortable. A voice actor for the channel (condescendingly) responded that depictions of bad things do not necessarily mean the writer is bad. This post was then reblogged by Aphmau's official tumblr account, without any commentary.(https://www.tumblr.com/aphmau/179882946599/hey-so)

Obviously writing about problematic things does not make you a bad person. You cannot have a story without conflict. What is concerning is writing about this content irresponsibly. Many fans around this time failed to understand that Ein should not be shipped romantically with Aphmau. This behavior was most alarmingly seen by (younger) fans who looked to the out-of-character minigame content of Ein for how he should be treated, and began shipping Aphmau and Ein without understanding the full force of their actions.

(Tumblr) Fans were then concerned about the responsibility involved in displaying this kind of content uncritically to younger audiences, especially since this time was when the mini-game videos became very clearly more aimed towards younger kids. It touches on the topic, but falsely identifies the main concern of fan backlash of mini-game and overall channel content becoming kid-friendly, instead of the real concern of irresponsibly exposing children to """friendly""" depictions of incest and abuse.

Making funny, silly content of abusers does not successfully condemn an abuser's actions. Making funny, silly content of an incestual relationship does not convey to the audience that the writer sees these actions as wrong. Without knowing that these text posts exist, the average fan would likely never even know they supposedly saw these things as an issue.

Not only has Catface never apologized for this, they later tried to retcon it out of existence:

TLDR: Jessica/Catface has acknowledged that Ein was written to be Aphmau's sister multiple times, including a mini-game video in 2019 that directly referred to them as siblings in the title and thumbnail.

At some point after this comment was made, they changed the video title to be consistent with the "red herring" statement.

To spell it out, after defending their irresponsible portrayal of this abusive and incestual character for years, Catface quietly pretended like it was never an issue and erased all references to his sibling status, so that they did not have to keep trying to explain themselves or apologize.

If you need more proof, check out this tumblr post below where Jessica does not contest Ein's sibling status, which is directly mentioned and discussed in the ask prior! I think it's very clear why nothing about this was ever corrected earlier, and it's because they saw it as nothing needing correction. There is no red herring. Just a poorly-handled retcon.

Many characters are given this treatment in canon, where their poor writing was later friendly-ified or excused for little to no reason:

The treatment and attempted "redemption" of Derek, Aaron's abusive father in Phoenix Drop High/Mystreet, is another clear example of this poorly thought-out behavior.

As well as Travis and Katelyn's abusive relationship, which is initially handled seriously, then comically, then swept aside altogether.

As well as Ghost, the undead form of Emmalyn from Minecraft Diaries, who repeatedly forces herself upon Mystreet Zane, because she has confused Mystreet Zane and Minecraft Diaries Zane, and for some reason has also confused Minecraft Diaries Zane, the man who killed her husband... With her husband. Makes sense /s.

As well as.... whatever the hell is going on with Aphmau and Aaron's relationship in Mystreet altogether. Remember that time in Season 4 when Aphmau threw a rock at Aaron after he just got done freezing to death or whatever, because the person that helped him not die... was a girl...... ?????? and she was...... jealous ??????????? so she tried to hit him with a rock??????????????????? was this supposed to be cute??????????????????????????????????

Okay now here's the less serious stuff. Reasons people dont like Jessica and Jason beyond the horrible stuff.

Because the original asker was just asking why people are mad at Jess and Jason, and despite all of the above being very prevalent I mainly see people angry at them for the following:

Bad writing. It comes from both Jess and Jason. Stuff that isn't bad because it's offensive, but because it's just plain bad. In all produced rps, they frequently forget their own lore, characterizations, and write things that just plain make no sense. A lot of people get frustrated with that, understandably.

Stringing fans along. New MCD/Mystreet/Roleplay content is continuously promised and not followed up on. Seasons/series are left unfinished without warning, or rushed to completion in order to throw them in the bin and stop having to write them. Lots of fans have grown tired of hoping for new content for the things they originally followed for. The Aphmau Fantasy Stories channel is inactive for a reason.

Related to above, she mostly just does clickbait-cocomelon-styled videos targeted towards very young children now, which frustrates a lot of old or returning fans looking for more serious content.

Also related to above, retiring or benching main/beloved characters for seemingly no reason. This is most demonstrated by Laurance, but can also be seen in characters like Garroth, Daniel, Lucinda, and Vylad. (One commonality seems to be that this "benching" frequently happens when there are difficulties with employing the voice actor.)

Shipping. Yeah Aarmau is basically the only Aphmau ship featured anymore in all her content, and has been for a while. So people who don't ship that often don't like Jessica, Jason, or their modern content, since the characters are their self-inserts and it's basically their fault.

Content stealing. A lot of her work references other established works, such as making the wyvern dragon language in Minecraft Diaries just being the dragon shout language from Skyrim, taking the titles and sometimes names of the Divine Warriors from mythical figures featured in Final Fantasy, or, most egregiously, stealing the entire Mystreet Season 6 Finale from Fullmetal Alchemist. Yes, they really did do that. In my opinion, some of these seem like simple references to media she enjoys, while some of these (looking at you Mystreet Finale) just feel lazy at best and incredibly deceitful at worst.

The baby voices. All the VAs, including Aphmau, pitch their voices up to sound cartoony now. It's grating.

Jess learned the word "himbo" and now it is Garroth's only personality trait. It's grating.

The Fucklist, or sometimes referred to as The List, is a list Jessica made and posted on her tumblr of characters who, in a less child-friendly version of MCD, would have fucked. The sentence alone is upsetting enough. It's upsetting to read as well. And she didn't even include the canonical Aphmau and Aaron fucking, because it was spoilers at the time. Maybe this doesn't belong here, I don't know if this is the One Reason why a fan has turned on her. But it's probably been the straw that broke some poor camel's back out there.

Some Mystreet fans don't enjoy the more lore-heavy later seasons, and prefer the sillier slice-of-life first couple seasons that the series was originally written with the intention of following.

Similarly to above, some Mystreet fans don't enjoy the MCD crossover lore added late in Mystreet Season 6. Some MCD fans don't enjoy that the series now crosses over with Mystreet.

And more im probably not thinking of at the moment.

So knowing that I'm a huge Bendy fan and love some good angsty fanfic with body horror, it may surprise you to hear that I'm not actually a big horror fan. Yeah, I can't do horror movies, I don't engage in most horror games, this is literally my one thing, save for a little bit of FNAF in regards to Security Breach and Ruin.

If I think back, it's been that way for a while. When I was a kid, we went to Disney's Hollywood studios, and our family of five rode the Tower of Terror together. Now, I love yo-yo styled rides, up and downs are some of my favorites. But I hated this. The story scared me so badly, and on that day there was a thunderstorm in the forecast, it was stupid levels of scary. I refused to ever go on it again until this year. Yeah, when we went on our trip this summer, my brother in law really wanted to go on it, so all seven of us gave it a shot. I was a big wimp the whole time. X'''D I turned away from the screen during the preshow and let one of my sisters hide her face in my shirt while covering her ears. I learned something very valuable! If I can't see the horrors, it's not so scary! Audio alone doesn't get me. But I did need to cover my eyes multiple times to not see the ghosts. My brother in law was really amused when he was holding his wife's hand in a cute couples way on one side, and mine in fear on the other. Laughed the whole time. We had a great time. I also wasn't bad on the Haunted Mansion anymore. Yeah, I was so scared of sitting alone on that, but nope, I rode it twice all by myself, and it was fine, I'd dare to say I liked it.

I think back to my teenage years, and oh boy, my friends sure did like scary stuff. One of them had a birthday on Halloween, so we went on a trip to a haunted house together. I stayed in the back because I didn't like being scared. That was a weird day in general, I remember thinking one of the animatronics in it looked like one of our professors who was kind of a garbage teacher? And I pointed it out to my best friend, and she laughed. Oh, there was the birthday someone made us watch DHMIS. Yeah I cannot look at that, nope, we block out everything related to that, I can't do it. That friend didn't know me as well, so I don't blame her so much, but a heads up that it was scary would have been nice. More than I can say for how I got introduced to FNAF.

Gosh let me tell you THAT story, it's kind of a doozy. I had an ex-friend who was a big Markiplier fan, and one day he and my bestie came over, and he insisted we watch the new Markiplier episode together. He had already seen it and knew what was coming, but I sure didn't. It was the first episode of his Let's Play of Five Nights at Freddy's, the very first game. We were seniors in high school, and I was very sensitive to horror. This friend knew that and showed it to me anyway. After the first Foxy jumpscare, I was done. I couldn't walk in the dark without swearing I saw Freddy out of the corner of my eye for like two months. But the worst part was, this had been looked up on MY YouTube account, and back then, YouTube didn't have the option to say "don't show me this" or "don't recommend me this". So for months I was stuck with recommendations for FNAF, most of which had thumbnails featuring Bonnie's jumpscare. I was dead set against FNAF for YEARS, hated it with a passion because I couldn't reasonably block it out. Which is why I'm grateful for more self curating tools on YouTube and Tumblr nowadays, and why I'm so appreciative when people bother to tag things.

It's because of that bad experience with FNAF that I was very hesitant to get into Bendy. I knew it was horror from the start, and my friends who were into it were also big into FNAF. But with all their icons changed to the Bendy face, I was curious, I needed to know. The art style intrigued me, I liked cartoons a lot, I wanted to know what this was. What really solidified it was hearing Can't Be Erased for the first time over a Discord call and then looking up the music video for myself. That and Build Our Machine had me hooked, so I watched a friend play through the first two chapters, and I found myself on a journey to dig into it myself. Sammy and Alice would proceed to steal my heart, and let me tell you, the anxiety I felt when Chapter 5 first dropped, the wait to see what happened, oh gosh did I need someone to hold my hand. One of my friends stuck with me through a playthrough of the chapter over a call, and bless her, I was such a mess. X'''D I can say that Dark Revival did not have me shaking with anxiety the whole time thankfully. The Bendy books have given me a similar rush though, I was so haunted by DCTL and TLO on a first read through. Like I knew it would end badly, but the how and why of it kept me curious.

The thing is, the only horror I really engage in is a little bit of indie mascot horror, but not all of it. Some of it I don't find particularly engaging. I've got little interest if there isn't much of a story, and I'm rather particular about what kinds of stories and presentation I like. But I like this little slice of horror, it's enough. Like you would think Poppy Playtime would be up my alley, given my love of toys and dolls, but no, it's not. Haunted dolls don't really do it for me I've discovered, maybe I ought to write a story that does. I like My Friendly Neighborhood, which I know, isn't very scary, but it sure did spook me with opening lockers. I think, it's okay if I'm not into most horror things, I have a few small things I like, and that's more than fun enough. I just acknowledge that this probably surprises people given some of what I love. X'''D

It's a bit of a complicated mess. If I plan too much then It stays stuck as an idea and then if I don't plan enough any conflict or struggles that I come up with come out flat and bland for the story. I don't really write much down when I plan things out, everything just marinates in my head for a while until I'm satisfied with the conflict then I let everything else flow naturally from what the possible conflict entails from the characters and the environment. This also depends heavily on what genre I'm writing for.

🥳 Why did you start writing fanfic?

The year was 2013. I was always a book worm but I was tired of reading about new things and moving on. One day I was looking online for Adventure Time's spin off comic series of Fiona and Cake. Then I found people's fan comics of the show. Then I found the fanfictions. Then in 2014 I found out that I could also write fanfiction of my own and thus LEC743 was born in the bowls of Fanfiction.net, reading and writing fanfiction at the time when my life was changing from a graduated high schooler and starting my first year in college.

Yah. I write for multiple fandoms. I can't chose a favorite, though. I feel cringe-y about my older stuff and with my newer stuff I only tend to re-read when people comment on my writings. 🤩 What led to your interest in the fandom?

Right now I have like, four main fandoms that I happen to love; Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Five Nights at Freddy's, Lego Monkie Kid, and Mass Effect Andromeda. There's more of course, I just have more writing focus on these four things currently.

I've always been a TMNT fan ever since I lade my eyes on the 1990's live action movies, but I never really thought about writing fanfiction about them until the 2018 versions came out. I found @rheawritesforfun and @s-s-ironnie's blogs about their fanfictions and art and it just inspired me to write my own things.

I am not much of a horror game person, but Five Nights at Freddy's has a special place in my heart mainly because of Markiplier. I loved watching him play through the games but I never really got into writing fanfiction for the franchise until I started seeing fan art of Sun and Moon from Security Breach on Pinterest, and then when I found and started reading @bamsara's Solar Lunacy I was hooked, line, and sinker for the series.

Lego Monkie Kid wasn't something I was initially interested in. I remember when I tried getting into it for the first time that I couldn't make it through the first episode without being turned off for some reason. But then I found some fan art, and specifically I found @swagginmun's art of the monkeys and MK and they spoke so excitedly about it that I decided to give it another chance. Then I was hooked and making fanfiction for the cartoon soon after.

Mass Effect Andromeda. Has aliens. Has weird space magic. Has exploration. What can I say. I love the Mass Effect series and I liked the continuations. (clears throat then whispers) Also I suggest reading this fanfiction called "The Holes Of My Sweater". It's a Jaal POV story and it's so good guys~

💌 Is there a favorite trope you like to write?

I like those transformative tropes: friends to lovers, enemies to friends, friends to hated rivals to enemies to tentative friends to lovers, friends to family, and not just these types of transformative tropes either. I like the ones where the hero becomes the villain, or when a villain becomes a hero and they fully embrace it and or hate that they have morals, people become monsters, monsters becoming people. That shit that H.P. Lovecraft was on to make all his weird ass monsters and how they made people mad with the knowledge. 👍 It's good shit~

Summary; Basically if you've seen/played the game you should know how this goes, you take place of Fran. So you go/went through the same things she did and you still have Mr. Midnight. This takes place while Fran is still in the mental hospital and then got teleported near the SBI.

If I get any info wrong, I'm sorry! I rewatched Markiplier's game play so it shouldn't be way off.

Like, I remember Chazington and Quinnamon both making videos about 'What if Vanny was an Afton fangirl?' (Though I'd argue those vids were more analysis, based off what was common thought/ what was known at the time.)

And Chazingtons vid?

His main case was he wanted Vanny to be the main villain. One of his main gripes was her lack of screen time and story presense. He didn't want Afton (or the Mimic- who he just considered to be Afton again) to come back- he wanted Vanny to be the main villain.

Like, he recommended her to be a serial killer fangirl. Because he figured that would allow for Afton to not come back. And would give Vanny more focus.

"At this point, I just don't like it being William Afton again. But hey- it's setting up a new villain at least (...)"

If Vanessa had got more time? More emphasis in the story? A actual boss battle? If burntrap wasnt the final boss and presumed canon ending in the basement at the time?

He probably wouldve been more on board for what he called "mind control shit." Because it wouldn't have been shit.

Quinnamon's vid?

He's not the biggest fan of the way the franchise has headed after HW in general. Like above he complains that Vanny isn't easily recognisable as the main villain in sb- all the other threats are in the game more often.

"This character was hyped up as the main villain for this game for over a year."

He misunderstood some stuff from hw, but analysed the trailers for sb pretty well. And from what I've seen of peoples reactions to them, this was what a lot of people got from the trailers- Vanny's going to be an important villain, she may or may not be related to Vanessa, and Vanessa's going to be the heroine, at least helping Gregory to escape. Like I put in my tags above- he gets confused about Patient 46 and think's theyre Vanny, instead of GGY.

You could be uncharitable snd be like 'he doesnt know anything about these games and he's talking about them like he does' but like. These errors are the same errors a casual fan will likely make, and HAVE made. Before GGY released, how many people considered 'Patient 46= Gregory' to be the most likely option? How many people have played HW? How many people have played SB? How many have read ALL the books? (I havent read all the books. I havent beaten hw.)

Versus how many people have watched Markiplier play hw, and sb? And listened to Matpat saying Gregory and Vanessa are robots without realizing theyre missing something?

Anyway I'm getting off topic. He uses these misunderstandings of the story as his basis for why he's suggesting Vanny as a William Afton obsessed fangirl.

I don't agree with his take, but I can see how he got there. If the story of sb had been written better, he may have come to different conclusions.

Like. Both these vids were released before Ruin. Before all the pizzaplex books came out. Before HW2. Both vids understand that the villian of sb is supposed to be the Mimic, but none really respect it as an antagonist- seeing it as Afton again, a cop out. These vids came out before we had proof that sb's developement was hell- that Scott hadn't commmunicated vital information with steel wool.

At this point I think I'm just circling a point without being able to make it so I'm gonna stop here.

Edit- fuck i forgot the AR emails. How many casual fans played AR? And would they have found the emails even if they had- didnt some of the latest ones showing Ness spreading the pizzaplex virus only get added in properly just before the game shut down? I remember to get the story for them off the wiki, I had to alternate between reading released emails, and 'scrapped' (iirc) emails.

And like, even people who AREN'T casual fans screw up details/analysis. Vanessa never worked at Silver Parasol games. But this trips people up a LOT. Tape girl says "I hope the next developement team finds this." She also mentions a buyout, and how a new developement studio wants to pick up the game. She also mentions how she wouldn't know the next person listening to these tapes- Vanessa's part of an unnamed (possibly Fazent, like how Disney has a in house game studio) game developement studio. Plus, she wasnt listed as a Silver Parasol employee on that scrapped website mockup- but Dale and Jeremy were, along with two other women, one of who could be tape girl.
