Patti Labelle slowly revealed her true self throughout her early solo career. Still, the debates about the album that made her differ from one person to another. I would humbly suggest I'm In Love Again as the disc, where she finally presented her on her own did make sense. Still, the LP doesn't belong to her best, though the platter is valuable, since we do notice she does attempt to find many approaches and some of them do pay off well on her consequent albums. However, a part of me wishes she would've kept refining some of the failed experiments she did on the disc, because many of them did contain some intriguing notions she didn't follow later on. Then again, they were called the failed experiments for a reason.
