i'm curious, what do you think of einstein adopting coralie ? aside from the fact that joachim adopted a welt clone so that probably was a shock (it's fucked up tbh), but after all these years of her burying her feelings deep she adopted a child. that probably was a big surprise to everyone (also i find it hella funny that lieserl is still in denial considering her age and forbids coralie to call her mom, only big sis lmao)

To this day, the relationship between Joachim and Ein remains something I cannot fully understand for it’s so twisted and complicated. Because, on the one hand, we have Lieserl who did not show much interest in Nokianvirtanen family? (I think the only time she did and talked to Elias was when she told him about Welt's arrival, that he needed a library card and to prank Welt with an "old geezer" test). It seems she treated Joachim as a brilliant neighbourhood boy she and Tesla had to take care of from time to time but she wasn’t that close to him, unlike Tesla. And then, with Welt’s death, it changed so that she did start to care about him  

But 

She cares about not him as a person but as some shadow of his predecessor, as you’ve precisely said. And to make the matters worse, Joachim doesn’t care about himself either, as if that little Joachim boy is long gone and now there’s only Welt Yang, the carrier of His will. So, we’re left with Tesla, the only person who sees Joachim as Joachim and who has always cared about him and always will no matter how hard he tries to kill his true self. 

On the other hand, we have Joachim who did show signs of care about Ein  

But 

He cares about every single human being and is ready to sacrifice himself for every single soul. Therefore, the question is, is his care genuine, or is it simply part of his “this is my duty, he died so that we could live, and I need to keep them safe no matter what” mindset? 

See? These two seem to be in the same depression boat but so distant and indifferent to each other at the same time.  

(Imagine how the tables would turn if Lieserl’s body wasn’t so weak, and she could inherit the core) 

But back to Ein’s situation. Not only does she care about Welt’s legacy and only about that, but she cares about every little thing that is associated with him. She kept the shattered core, the Star of Eden while Joachim was lost in the Sea of Quanta, and the book of poems. The last one is an especially interesting case as it’s stated that it’s hard to encounter someone on the base which means Ein must have been carrying that book with her for who knows how long before giving it to Fu Hua. And not only that, but she translated and read it as well. 

(She was so caring about his belongings and then Bronya single-handedly erased 300,000 souls and all their memories. Yes, I’m still very much pissed off by it and always will be, sorry)  

Btw in the same dialogue with Fu Hua she mentioned that she didn’t feel great if she didn’t work out. And that’s another interesting topic to talk about – the way she kinda contradicts her younger self. Take for example this scene and that it is stated many times across vn or events or comics or the main story that she’s an awfully lazy person, her ideal life would be lying on a sofa and tease everyone around. (The part where she used to work 3-4 hours per day and now she works 24/7 can be explained by the fact that she had to fight honkai but that is no longer the case?). Or another example, I remember she used to go to sleep quite early and in the main story she goes:

Yeah, you're right about Emma. Additionally, I picture that little Lieserl and Erwin were like her Pride and Joy (and then she adopted a stray cat called Tesla). Then she lost one, partially lost another and I'm afraid Emma passed away before Joachim returned (But hey, she still had Tesla-)

Oh, I forgot to mention another thing. I suppose Erwin had already received her doctorate during vn timeline, but Lieserl and Nicola were still in the process of studying? And then they...well...had no time and opportunity to finish it. What if their doctorate is as fake as is Tesla's driver's license and Welt's passport (Ada being able to print fake documents is a nice headcanon ig because how else can you explain Ein getting Welt's passport within an hour or two)

Oh, Coralie... At first, I was very negative towards her when I watched that BiliBili Part 2 stream. She seemed like a replacement for the AE or Bronya role in the story. Moreover, by that time writers totally forgot about AE characters, and I was very disappointed by the moon arc, not only by the destroying memories in the core and the soul-erasing part but by the fact that AE dedicated decades to making a plan (Planck and Edison were the origins of the plan) and successfully carrying it out (they even spoiled like half of the story in the very first chapter with the letter on Selene), and we’ve never got a scene where they realised they had won and celebrated it (I bet Ein/Tesla/Joachim thought “I wish Emma/Nancy/Welt could see this day”). But. The “The Star Which the Moon Gazes Upon” chapter completely changed my perspective on Coralie and Helia. They’re adorable and are my most favourite (and only) thing of Part 2 (ironically, writers don’t really care about them either). I remember how confused I was trying to figure out how Ein decided to adopt a child, but this explains a lot: 

Though I'm still confused how they ended up playing a guess game and the whole "let's adopt another one" idea.

But let's look at this from another perspective.

What if the original reason behind Lieserl’s obsession over Welt starts in 1952 when she wanted to find out how Carl died, then she discovered that there was only one mysterious survivor and she unconsciously took it as a sign of fate and that she could become a Сarl figure for Welt and save him as Сarl had once saved her and maybe it would help her cope with the loss of Carl.... And then the 1955 came and Lieserl...well...failed.

BUT 

 60+ years later she spontaneously won a guess game (it would be funnier if it was a card game) and adopted a girl and ended up with the same thought of “now I want to try and play Emma’s role” and she tried to do everything for Coralie that Emma once did for her? 

What I'm trying to say is that in the first case, Lieserl was initially trying to help a stranger, as if she was helping Carl. And in the second case, she enclosed the image of Emma in Coralie so that now she takes care of "Emma". Does it make sense?

Btw Coralie's black shirt kinda looks like the one Emma had...oh, right, have you ever thought that it is for certain that there should be Emma's room somewhere in the AE base...?

Wait, have Coralie ever called her "a big sis?" :0 Genuine question because I've noticed that she calls everyone senpai/uncle/teacher but Lieserl is just "Einstein". Also it's funny how Ein is considered to be her mother and Coralie does indeed have Lieserl's devilish traits but she's mostly as unhinged and chaotic as Tesla.

Honestly, I feel like a lot of them would get along with them pretty nicely. For starters, Vil would enjoy Morticia’s company a lot, I think they would genuinely become besties because: not only they’re a pretty good match personality-wise, but also both are into botany/potion stuff + apparently both have experience in fencing�� Somehow, their wavelengths align pretty neatly. Of course, it’s safe to assume that Rook would be allured by Morticia too, but let’s be honest, Rook would be charmed and be able to befriend the entire household, Lurch included.

Oh god, Gomez and Kalim would have hilarious friendship. I'm so proud of my system.

We'd kind of hit a bit of a lull in any major improvements in our recovery for a while now, and that was frustrating us. In an attempt to address that, we started working through some of Green's specific issues during therapy, and while that has absolutely helped us a lot it wasn't really what I think our system truly needed. I was venting about this to one of my partners, and at some point they pointed out that I have a lot of trouble understanding certain parts... particularly Purple.

See, Purple and I have had a long, looooong rivalry with each other. We love each other dearly but we operate on such a fundamentally different wavelength that we end up driving each other crazy. I can never understand why she's so lackadaisical when it comes to things like our financial struggles or trauma work or how she can be so carefree with being as shameless and outrageous as she is, while she thinks I'm too high strung and that I prevent myself from just "being myself" and letting the other parts of us exist as themselves. Meanwhile, both of us have such a great relationship with Green, the third member of what we call our "Big Three" trio (aka the pillars of our system).

And our partner helped me realize exactly why Purple and I just don't seem to operate on the same wavelength. I'm concerned about our long-term survival in terms of having the resources and sense of safety. Purple, meanwhile, is concerned about making sure we are still taking care of our needs day to day, and is much more in touch with our immediate wants and needs and desires. Both of these are important, but often come to a head- hence the two of us being in disagreement a lot. And, due to all of this, I end up pushing down a lot of my emotions in order to continue seeing the "big picture", while Purple ends up creating a lot of excess emotion in an attempt to generate enough support for herself in the moment. And that's where Green comes in, as he helps us both manage those emotions that we are unable to handle.... while also having to manage his own.

It's incredibly unsustainable, but it was what helped our system for so long that I hadn't even thought to question this particular structure of ours. I'm glad our partner highlighted all this for us, as I'm honestly too dense to really know or understand how the other parts of our system tick.

And because of all this, we've had a lot of really, really productive conversations in our system. We've realized that, yes, we genuinely do, as a group, want to aim for final fusion as our healing goal. As Purple put it, "I wanna know and love each and every one of you as deeply and wholey as I can, and what better way to do that than to mush ourselves together? :D" And I think that sentiment resonates with everyone. I might be scared of fusion myself... but I think that's because I know we're nowhere near ready for that yet. We still have so much to work through, so many things to learn, before we can even really hope to achieve that yet. But I trust that our system will get there eventually, especially if we keep working at it.

below are just some canon divergencies or nuances that i want to make explicitly clear are important to my development of serana. these are all pieces i've built over the years that, if we're writing together, and especially if it's in any high fantasy verse where serana's backstory is a bit more in play, that i'd appreciate you know and accept. hell, these matter more to me over you knowing her general plot to begin with since that's easy for me to summarize to you. there's just stuff in the game i've gotten sick of as far as how it was handled and i want to make sure we're on the same wavelength when it comes to writing and plotting together.

most importantly: your character (mainly if you're an ldb or tav or inquisitor - esque character) does not get to kill harkon. i'm glad we're all finally at a point where we want characters to have agency in their story rather than playing 'side-piece' to main player characters and this is something i've harped on for literal years. this is serana's story, this is her trauma that she has to come to terms with and make the final decision that her father can't live any longer. you don't get to take that away from her. it's a perfect character arc for her to go through and thus, all other characters will play a side-role in the final battle at castle volkihar. you don't have the history with him. you don't have the memories she has and the emotions she's had to go through to get to this point. do you understand how much it takes to get to a place where you know you have to kill your parent and not only just that but actually do it to begin with? it's stupid to think that serana has all this rich backstory with her clan and parents just to have someone she met maybe a couple months ago come in and sweep it all away. give her agency, my fucking god. you got your hero moment defeating alduin, the absolute, corypheus, etc. let serana have hers.

in my canon harkon does kill serana in kind. their final moments together are supposed to represent not only serana finally needing to accept her father's megalomania will never be cured and that he isn't the same man who raised her, but also she needs to see that in his final moment of taking the plunge and killing her. it's one thing to battle with him and try to continue to reason with him, it's another to stand there seeing he actually staked you through the heart at a final grasp of power. this happens within seconds of each other, there's nothing anyone can do about it. granted, it's a cop-out for me that her mother is a notorious necromancer and can bring her daughter back over a couple of days, so her story can and will continue, but for all intents and purposes, these two kill each other.

this blog is castle volkihar favorable. i'm staunchly against the dawnguard, but more importantly against the extermination of serana's entire family leaving her with no one once the dust has settled. it's fine if your character is a part of the dawnguard, but understand that if there's no compromise between the dawnguard and serana to keep the rest of the coven alive if the vampires agree to follow her instead, then you abandon any further 'friendly interaction' with her once the battle at the castle is over. you don't get to have your cake and eat it too because 'vampires = evil' in this godforsaken, lack of nuance game. as long as the coven continues to live, serana will then take over her parent's role and lead the volkihars.

serana will canonically have two sets of scars. and only two, considering her ability to heal. one is a pair of burn marks at her hips from when she became a daughter of coldharbour and was assaulted by molag bal. this is something, in my own canon, every vampire with the title of daughter of coldharbour has. it's a mark the prince of domination wants to have on his property. the second will appear after being resurrected by feran and valerica, a pitted scar at her sternum where harkon attempted to kill her. both of them bleak reminders of her deaths.

as she continues to develop, and metas i have become more solidified, i will be adding to this list and i'll make sure to make a post/update everyone when it's been adjusted to reflect my current canon.

while devs did confirm their intention was that serana was sealed away during the interregnum, we never get solid proof of how old exactly serana is. community discussion and some small crumbs of lore ( the existence of 'vingalmo's treatise on the altmer antecedent', no information about harkon's reign as a 'king', talking about 'previous owners' of the castle they reside in, her confusion on why the state of the dwemer, durnehviir in general ) have me settling on the family existing in the late merethic era, turning into vampires, then following ysgrammor down into skyrim where they took up residence in the sea of ghosts. this places her at around 4000+ years old. in other verses, just figure she's old as hell. ancient.

How do you feel about the magazine switch? Personally, I'm glad Tabata took this step. Having him focus on his health and his family, as well as having more time for his story and a better work evironnement, is more important than having chapters weekly.

If I'm completely honest (about my very personal opinion), I haven't been excited about BC for a long time. Even the movie did nothing for me, if not for the Vermillion scenes and how they contributed to Mereoleona's characterization as someone who isn't just a "violent woman" as I think she was described in the wikia in some point. She is a caring individual too. But that's beside the point of the ask.

And the manga hasn't been much better. Just one fight after another with no real character development. While I understand that BC is shounen, and a very heavy plot would make it something else, I think that it having been "nothing but flashy fight scenes" have evoked a "blah blah blah" reaction in me. I just haven't cared for it. Which is sad because I've known, I've known, that Tabs can do so much more. He's the master of foreshadowing and he has so much to put into the plot. He hid so many things in there, and even with the JuLu (JuliusLucius) reveal, pieces have fit together so well. So he very much has the ability to create such a plot that will bring new, intended, twists into light in a manner that can keep the reader on their toes in a good way! And not a mere death scare from a fight scene.

A part of me thinks that the reason why the plot has been lacking as of late, has been because of the pace at which he has been expected to work. Which is inhumane; the pace, that is. He has been just on a tunnel vision to "just get another chapter out", because "that's what they expect me to do". Which means that the quality suffers.

I know that 3 months is a long time for many, but I personally don't mind waiting at all, if the wait is worth it. And I think that the pace being slower with this, as the number of chapters per week will be less than it has been, will only have a positive affect on him. He doesn't need to be "in the zone" all the time, but he can get excited about his own work again.

And a part of being excited about your work, includes having time for yourself and your family, which I'm sure he wishes to have. He has a wonderful wife and a daughter who he adores, and who I'm sure want their husband and father to be around.

I personally wish nothing but good, and health and wealth for Tabs.

I've been sticking with the series because I have hopes for it, and I will have hopes for it after this change. Actually, my hopes have dared to lift their heads high again because of it.

Honestly, I see nothing but positives with this. And I hope other people will continue to support Tabs with this change as well ^^
