Idk if you get a lot of these or anything but just wanted to lyk that your writing is amazing!! You capture the characters in bg3 really well - especially Astarion - when sometimes I’d say that it’s hard to find fanfic that portrays him as like the “hot vampire bf” when he’d hate that.

The thing I love so much about Astarion is how multifaceted he is. He can be scary and mean and sexy but he can also be a big dumb idiot who makes puns and complains about doing anything active. Leaning into that side of him is my favorite because I feel like he's even funnier than people give him credit for. In my mind, when he's outside of his comfort zone and his pickup lines aren't working, he kind of just bumbles through affection and intimacy and I LOVE that. Dork Astarion is simply the love of my life. Thrilled to hear you love him too :)

I'm in the same boat the past couple of weeks (having deadline after deadline) and found myself struggling mentally, especially with motivation, but there are some good parts too. Reading your work and how beautifully you write, motivates me a lot in my own work, as I'm stuck in my own literary "limbo". You should take pride in all the positive and enthousiastic reactions you get from PS and take some time for yourself. Do not overexert yourself. Everyone's kindness and support has had such a huge impact on me and my enthusiasm to keep writing and posting, so I really appreciate you reaching out 🥺 especially since this fic has kept growing longer than expected!! Not that I'm complaining, it's been a joyous experience despite the dark material and reignited my passion after a long writer's block (and even helped me realize what kind of original content I want to write in future 🧛‍♂️). All that said, writing endings is hard and I started physical therapy a couple weeks back after a back injury, which is kicking. my. ass. Haven't been this tired in a while, so that on top of a work conference coming up next week means I am indeed, firstly and primarily focused on taking care of myself....even if I am secondly focused on chipping away at comment replies and squeezing in a little bit of writing/editing every day, lol. Can't go too long without my boys, I'd miss them too much 💙

Chapter 31 is likely getting posted this weekend, if I had to guess! And I'm honestly excited to be traveling after that, I always get a shit ton of writing done in airports/on planes 😂 thanks again for your kind words.

But I also can’t help but think of the beautiful parallels with the story if it is renewed — coming back to life, getting a second act, etc. Art mimicking life etc etc. 💚

also, i can totally empathize with the feeling of being heartbroken. i still remember how i felt when we finally were told the show got cancelled. i hadn't been in an active fandom for a still running show for so long, i forgot how awful cancellation news can feel. and even with all my other fandoms i've been in before, they'd mostly run longer than was good for them, so cancellation usually felt more like a relief. so, not getting a season 2 really felt like the worst thing when it happened. there was so much potential, so much wonderful music we could have gotten, so many great stories and character moments i was looking forward to. i just really wanted these kids to get their happy ending, you know?

i made my peace with not getting more of jatp. i love the little revival of the fandom we are seeing right now—with "old" fans coming back and new people discovering the show—but i think we all have to be honest with ourselves that it's highly unlikely we'll ever get another season or a movie or a tour. (doesn't mean we all can't have a little fun—i think this fandom's rather notorious for seeing signs everywhere. mostly, i just see it as gallows humour. we've all just been through a lot. 😶)

anyway, yes, a second season would've been great for all the little things they've already put into the first season. the foreshadowing would've been amazing. and like i said, the boys would've deserved to come back to life and finally get everything they ever wanted (love, family, fame, closure etc.). either way, it is what it is.

but as long as we're all still here watching the show, talking about it, creating things around it, is it ever really dead? ♥️

I think it's very funny that although I'm Generally Not Fond of school AUs and generally would not willingly touch one I also cannot say that I dislike them (even if mostly true) purely because I once read one life changingly good and I just am not even willing to generalize anymore without adding the caveat "EXCEPT for Eye of the Beholding which is perfect in every way"

baby im back again from rereading your nyanakin fic(its so cute??) and i think ao3 changed the rules on collections sometimes back maybe? so no reader can invite fics to collections until the author changes the particular setting... if it's not too much trouble to ask could you alter that please? <3 i dont even mind if you don't accept the request for a collection (i use the collections as a second set of bookmarks tbh ad i can see the invited works in the settings soooo) lots of love bestie 💖💖

Hello!!! First, thank you 💙 (one day I'll write the sequel to that fic...) and second, you are absolutely correct and I will happily change that! I'm answering this ask publicly in case anyone else has had the setting changed on them, or possibly to reveal that I am extremely dumb and accidentally turned it off myself and poor ao3 did nothing wrong (it would not be out of character for me).

I don't think I'd ever mind being added to a collection unless it's something mean (fics that are dumb and bad) or it's a collection that wildly mischaracterizes what I was aiming for (fics where obi-wan and anakin hate each other) so please go right ahead. I never thought of using collections as bookmarks but that's smart. I'm barely using bookmarks now and instead rely on my faulty memory to retrieve my favourites so I encourage any system that helps me find great stuff to read!
