oh my god @prev anon, i can’t find the junechew video at all anymore but i SWEAR i started the same one because it was recommended to me. and i clicked out of the video 5 minutes in because they were talking about how they hated flynn and how annoying she was 🙈 just bad takes all around

(to clarify, i don’t hate people who don’t care for flynn as a character but they were saying she’s a bad friend to julie etc.)

ah yes, sounds like someone wanted to elevate carrie over flynn then. (flynn = bad friend, carrie = the (probably wronged) halfsister) sounds about right. 🥲

I recently watched a video called I will never get over Julie and the Phantoms by Junechew and they forcibly reminded me of the theory that Julie and Carrie were halfsisters and I finally realised (part of I'm sure I'll think of more later) why it bugged me so much

their age is the same so timelines don't make sense does it

it implies either Rose cheated (gags) or her getting with Trobby wasn't entirely consenual (still gagging) both ideas are hellish for different reasons and I hate this theory so much

luckily, i've never encountered this theory before (or i've blocked it from memory which might also be likely). i would have ranted about this a lot in my most active days in the fandom. 😅

anyways, these theories always read to me like they wanted to make carrie a little bit more important by connecting here more permanently to the main character. it might also be an attempt at justifying carrie's behaviour towards julie (rose keeping julie and not carrie).

like you said, it’s almost impossible to work in canon — going by their ages and them being in the same grade, how could they possibly be both rose's? also why would one stay with rose and the other with bobby/trevor? why would carrie be as white as it gets?

it’s a bit too unlikely to be a fun theory to think about. to me at least.

Explanation: Why are there so many cyclones around the north pole of Jupiter? The topic is still being researched. NASA’s robotic Juno mission orbiting Jupiter took data in 2018 that was used to construct this stunning view of the curious cyclones at Jupiter’s north pole. Measuring the thermal emission from Jovian cloud tops, the infrared observations are not restricted to the hemisphere illuminated by sunlight. They reveal eight cyclonic features that surround a cyclone about 4,000 kilometers in diameter, just offset from the giant planet’s geographic north pole. Similar data show a cyclone at the Jovian south pole with five circumpolar cyclones. The south pole cyclones are slightly larger than their northern cousins. Oddly, data from the once Saturn-orbiting Cassini mission has shown that Saturn’s north and south poles each have only a single cyclonic storm system.

Man, we have got to stop treating art like it has an expiration date. That show stopped airing? Doesn’t mean it can’t haunt your every waking thought. Everybody’s into this album, but you don’t have the energy for new music right now? It’ll be waiting for you when you’re ready. That movie’s fifty years old and indie as shit? Incredible, you have the chance to share it with folks who might never otherwise feel that particular punch of delight. Books don’t go bad. Shows inspire fandoms decades after they’ve wrapped up. We’re still looking at cave paintings and statue work from ancient times and letting the joy of creation bring tears to our eyes. That’s the point of art. It’s as close to immortality as we ever get. Why try to give that magic a shelf life?
