OMGGG Guuuys I had a great birthday yesterday!

I went to MagicCon with my 2 besties❤ & I'm SO happy to have gotten that nice photo with Elijah Wood! I actually got an autograph ticket last minute because I thought "Huh, why not? I have the money!" (which was good because the photo session was VERY quick).

We were in this huge room which almost looked like one for an orchestra and Elijah's place was down the stairs in the corner lol. When we arrived the employees told us that he's having a break rn and will be back in 5 minutes. Oddly enough there were only about 3 or 4 other people so it was pretty empty at his table. Then I heard voices, turned around and there was Elijah sauntering down the line of chairs behind us, chatting with Dominic Monaghan. I was like "Oh, there he is!" and it was so surreal! Also felt hilarious because I was BOTH "Wow, he's actually just a guy!" AND super star-struck.

And guys I can tell you that: I'm still SO mad at myself that talking to Wood made my stupid lizard brain flush my english-speaking-skills down the drain (the Terrible Terror from HTTYD comes to mind, staring into the void while licking its own eyeballs). Safe to say I was giggling the whole time and just started with something along the lines of "WOAH Holy shit, hi Elijah! Haha! Here!", handed him my drawing and told him that it's actually my birthday. He of course wished me a happy birthday, looked at my drawing for a while and went "Wow, that is SO pretty! Very pretty!" while signing it. As I was about to walk away I sent him into a laughing fit because I stared at him like a maniac saying "YOUR EYES ARE SO PRETTY!". So yeah. I REALLY hope to meet him on another convention to tell him why I love Frodo so much and maybe get a hug without my brain shutting off.

After that I did see him again at the photosessions (which had a long line this time but I didn't mind because I was chatting with my friends). I literally arrived jumping towards him, responding to his happy "Hi!" with a "Hi, it's me again!" lol. I wanted to put my arm around him but seeing the like 3(!) fat signs they put up informing us of the rules - consisting of "Please don't touch the actors" and "Don't do poses" (???) - made me re-think it because I'm a scaredy cat (despite living in Germany - the land of strict unnecessary rules) so I decided to hold my One Ring up. Obviously nobody cared about the no-touching-policy (when I left Elijah was just jumping onto someone's back lol) and if you look closely you can see that I actually DID put my arm around him but not as much as I would've liked haha.

Originally I wanted him to sign one of the photos of one of my favorite LOTR scenes (Frodo falling down in slow-mo at the "Prancing Pony" Inn, trying to catch the ring) but I failed to realize that you had to get the autograph photos at the entrance and having him sign my drawing turned out to feel much more sweet and personal - and I got a Happy Birthday from him anyway! And Frodo himself SAW and APPROVED of my first Frodo drawing!! (I kinda hope that it helped me to stay in his memory for a while - that or the fact that I was dressed entirely in bright red and probably looked like a walking strawberry to everyone.)

Fun Fact: I'm actually a bit taller than Elijah but because of my pose & his thick shoes we appear to be the same height. He doesn't seem too short in person though. Also, his eyes are very blue & nice, but not that unnaturally almost neon blue. I think the lighting & color correction of his movies make it look like that sometimes.

Despite me turning red and answering them - very audibly - with a "Nooo!" my parents REALLY wanna frame that photo now lol

OKAY it felt super good venting here a bit because I'm SO INCREDIBLY MAD AT MYSELF for not telling him how much I love Frodo and why and for for not asking for a hug on my birthday AND for having missed his panel because I was too distracted and stupid to find the right room but I'm still happy to have been able to show him my drawing, gotten the photo and to have met him overall. He seemed open and happy and when he comes to a convention in Germany or the Netherlands again I'll try to meet him again!

Also constantly talks about becoming deputy and then leader someday. Just you wait, she's on the fast-track to become a warrior any day now! And then the leader will see she's so cool and give her an apprentice immediately, or maybe they'll even see that she's good enough to be deputy without an apprentice! She'd deserve it, after all (her own thoughts)

In addition to that, she's very very competitive as well! She tries to turn everything into a competition because she thinks it's fun and also she wants to win and show the others how good she is

Unfortunately, she does have the skills to back it all up. She is a very good fighter - and a good hunter when she can keep her mouth shut. However, her ego often gets herself into situations she can't win, so she often gets her ass kicked and ends up in the healer den, lol

She actually got that torn ear because she charged in to fight a fox over a large rabbit it had killed, much to the chagrin of her mentor

Though, that's only if her clanmates can catch her bleeding or limping or whatever. Pandionpaw tries to walk off just about everything, because she's tough, dammit!! This includes illnesses that she should really get checked out, but she's fine. She's fine! She promises! Don't feel her nose she's not warm she's fine -

Like the doodle above, if she thinks anything is unfair, she sure will say it. This is mostly to her fellow apprentices, but she can call out the more authoritative figures in the clan if she thinks it's a big injustice

She's a big scaredy-cat, but acts like she's not. She pretends like she's so brave and she'll lead the charge into the spooky hollow log - but as she gets closer she's like, oh, um... I guess we can go together. Like you wanted. I'm feeling generous!

Also a big lesbian. She doesn't have any crushes yet but she's a huge cringefail lesbian when she gets one. She gets even more obnoxious, trying to show off in front of the cat more than she usually would and snarks a lot more than usual (which is already a lot) trying to get them to laugh at her jokes

She's allergic to feathers and can't really eat or hunt birds because of it. This is something she routinely ignores, because catching birds is cool and impressive. She also denies ever having the allergy to anyone who brings it up. It's just some stray dirt up her nose! You don't know what you're talking about!!

This is a fanart (my very first, actually) for my newest obsession. It is a japenese visual novel-style horro game called Spirit Hunter: Death Mark. It can also be put under point-&-click (at least the Death Mark games).

Recently, my favourite youtuber played the newest game in the Spirit Hunter series: Death Mark II. I usually am not big on horror as I'm a big scaredy cat and get scared easily (and my mind is very creative as we know lol). But this one took my heart by storm not only for the plot but also the stunning visuals and interesting game play. The characters are so interesting (and hot ahem ahem (the adults obv)). So I also checked her playthrough of the first game (Spirit Hunter: Death Mark) and the second game (Spirit Hunter: NG). I currently am at the end of the second chapter and dear lord. I love the designs of the spirits but am grossed out at the same time. Also - huge prop to the youtuber as the first game (when it came out) had no english translation yet and she translated it all by herself!

Now to the character in the art. He is the protagonist, you play from his perspective but you can give yourself a different name. If you don't his default name will be Yashiki Kazuo. I will not spoil anything here just that he is easily my favourit character of the game(s). His design might look simple but dear lord - his hair was so not easy to draw. I worked on his hair alone for two afternoons! And that was only for the sketch! I'm still not completilly satisfied as his hair looks way to neat... So I will continue to draw him. Best way to get better at it.

JD was so fun to play! I did a lot of method acting for that one (my whole cast went to 7-11 together and such, which was so fun!) and it was a lovely experience :) I've always loved playing obsessive characters, so he was so much fun to play.

I can hit a bunch of those notes (like Christine's really high note in the Phantom Of The Opera) but not well (they don't sound... good lol), so I kinda consider myself more of a mezzo soprano. I am sure you are so talented, and your voice must be so pretty :D

What interests me in a person really varies, I suppose! I like passionate people, so anyone with a strong interest and motivation to learn about something, whether it's like a game, a subject, or anything in-between. I also really am interested in more creative people, I think. I like looking at what people make, and I love seeing how people express themselves and their feelings. What interests you in a person, sweetheart? I'd love to know!

I've never properly gone thrifting, but I'd really love to :) I go to a lot of antique stores and other lower end shops like marshalls and tj maxx for stuff, so it's pretty similar. Are you interested in antique hunting and thrifting? Have you found anything cool?

Okay I gotta ask since it looks so great but I’m still on the fence about it: How scary would you say Scarlet Hollow is? For context, I’m a HUGE baby when it comes to horror- like even the most “mild” scary movies I watch between my fingers. I love a psychological thriller, but that’s about as far as it will go. I was also a kid who read Goosebumps and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark even though they inevitably freaked me out and gave me nightmares for years lol. Would you recommend to someone who loves a good story but is a big Scaredy Cat like myself?

Yes I would, because honestly I'm a big Scaredy Cat too! I wouldn't have even tried the game if two friends on another discord server didn't assure me that it wasn't really scary. In my opinion it leans more into the psychological side than really terrifying. Compared to movies like Saw or Se7en* it's much tamer. (Since I've seen very little horror I can't give a lot of examples to compare SH too.) If you've seen the anime Madoka Magica, I'd say it's similar-ish levels to that, a little scarier because of the more realistic art style. Actually, part of the game is inspired by the anime. I tend to get nightmares easily from things that freak me out, and I haven't had one from playing Scarlet Hollow. Though I have bawled my eyes out, especially at the end of Episode 4! It's just so tragic! There are some kinda gross and gory parts but it's not really heavy, because that's not what the story is about. It's really focused on things like generational trauma, and how the choices of a lot of character's ancestors affect the present. Just exploring those ideas through supernatural happenings and horror. (Is that the definition of Gothic Horror? Idk, I'm not genre savvy when it comes to horror.) You can always try out the demo, which is Episode 1. That should give you a decent idea of how scary it is. Though everyone has a different view on which part is the scariest so far. The devs have an extensive trigger warning list available as well, so feel free to check it out. Of course there are some vague spoilers in it. You won't encounter everything on the list in a given playthrough, since some of it is highly dependent on your choices. But no shame or judgement from me if you think it's too scary. Taking care of your mental health is more important than playing a game! <3 *Yes I know Se7en isn't really horror, but from what I remember, it was pretty gruesome. Granted I watched both it and Saw in my early 20's, so a long time ago. At this point in my life there's no way I could handle watching either of those movies again.

That's not really giving you a huge vote of confidence in how well this evening will go, but as you approach your date, you recognise him instantly. He doesn't need an introduction, but he offers you one anyone.

You can push aside the arrogance, The Riddler is as infamous as they come, so you can see why he might have developed an ego. he settles down quite quickly, also, which makes starting the evening a bit smoother than the introductions were.

When you actually get a chance to get a word in, you reveal your interest in cyber security.

"This isn't supposed to be a job interview... but I'm going to keep you in mind for a 'project' I have coming up."

Edward is quick to tell you he enjoys testing the limits of cyber security, or rather pushing them to it. It's like solving a puzzle. A mystery, where the solution is behind codes and passwords.

"I'm the Holmes, you could be my Watson?"

He grins wide when you laugh at his joke, mentioning your interest in Sherlock Holmes, as well as horror and the occult. These are subjects Edward isn't well-versed in, so he spends the next hour grilling you intensely, taking in as much knowledge as you can give him and thanking you profusely for giving him ever more information.

Once he's prattled on about his own love for video games off of your own admission about how much you enjoy them, he decides it's probably only polite to ask you a bit more about yourself, to get a feel for your personality, though he is desperate to talk about himself more.

When he learns how much you have in common though, he feels satiated in his desire for companionship. You're someone who might just get him. He too, struggled in childhood with his intelligence and the pressure placed on him because of it. Though, he's gone the opposite route. He prefers to disappoint people, and he's got, if he can admit it himself, possibly too much self-confidence. But he can always hope that some of that rubs off on you... if you're willing to spend more time with him, that is.

"Which of course you do! Who wouldn't?"

You can almost hear the wait staff rolling your eyes, but you're surprisingly only finding yourself falling for him more with each ridiculous statement he makes.

But what did you mean by an A-Team that actually cares?

Oh, now I gotta talk about it...

Back in 2010, there was a movie that, uh, pretended to be the A-Team, but it was just a lazy, military propaganda fireball of mediocrity. I haven't run across a single person who liked the movie. Heck, even Rotten Tomatoes wasn't impressed.

The first problem was the casting. Liam Neeson played Hannibal, and while Liam is a great actor, he was No fit for the sassy, flamboyant, wise-cracking Hannibal. Liam's Hannibal was oddly pissed off the whole time? He was no team-leader, much less a Friend to the guys.

Next was Bradley Cooper, who also gave a fine enough performance, but the writers forgot that Face is the sensitive, sweet, scaredy cat of the group. Instead, they whore-ified him, made him a whiny baby, and shoe-horned in some jilted lover who wasted a Heck of a lot of screen time, but more on her later.

Plus, I can't help but hear Rocket whenever he gets worked up anymore...

BA wasn't screwed over as much as the other guys, he just had some stupid arc where they decided the only interesting thing about BA was his violence, so halfway through the movie he takes a vow of nonviolence. And then breaks it in this Heroic Arc. And if the writers thought this orphan-raising, community center volunteering, soft-hearted brute was only interesting when he was beating people up, that tells you all you need to know about how they view the characters.

Side note, Mr. T (BA's actor) had a huge influence on the character. He didn't want the only black man on the team to be mindless muscle. He wanted BA to have a softer, child-like side, full of warmth and compassion. His gold jewelry and signature hairstyle were also symbols he crafted as a statement towards his enslaved ancestors. The gold represented the shackles slaves wore, and the hairstyle resembled those by African tribe leaders.

That's all of them, right? I feel like I'm forgetting something...

Oh yeah.

Murdock.

Now, I am biased, but HM Murdock remains one of the most spectacularly written and performed characters I have ever seen, and it's for this simple reason: literally no one knows if he's really crazy or not. Murdock lives permanently in a VA psych ward because he's crazy enough to have to do so, but he also is an instrumental part of the team. Murdock is the character that is most often called upon to save the others from a jam, he has to showcase incredible strategy and improv skills, and he's as loyal to the guys as a pitbull. Plus, he actually outranks all of them except Hannibal and was awarded the Silver Star - one of the highest honors you can get in the Army. Murdock has a reputation as being the Best Damn Pilot in the Army, even when he wasn't in the Army anymore. The others will take a bullet to protect Murdock from the MP (the MPs don't know he's part of the team, and they all know it needs to be that way), and Murdock has canonly taken a bullet for one of them. Murdock displays wildly varied identities, delusions, and hallucinations episode from episode, but he is 6 feet of Texan heart and soul and heroism.

The movie just kinda... forgot about that. And also about Murdock. He - the character established for being the clown and entertaining one - was reduced to a few LOL So Random XD moments. That is - when he's actually in the movie. Murdock is the pilot, so you'd think his usefulness would be reduced in a team that deals with punching people and fire fights, and yet the show never let that stop them. You can't have the A-Team without Murdock. In all the episode I've seen, you can have an episode that mostly lacks BA, Hannibal, or Face, but never Murdock. The show just doesn't work without him, and the team doesn't either.

And the movie sure as heck didn't either.

Oh, fun fact: Dwight Scultz (who played Murdock) and Dirk Benedict (who played Face) both had cameos in the movie, and they both regretted it afterwards.

The main guys stink, the other characters stink (Face's jilted lover is constantly playing catch-up and doesn't contribute anything for the amount of screen time she takes up, and the bad guys are so incredibly non-threatening it's impossible to establish any stakes or risks), and the movie itself just stinks. The pacing is terrible, the action is cartoonish (in a bad way), and the action sequences are literally nauseating.

And the worst part of all... they swear. A lot.

Oh, and kill people.

A lot.

Go watch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. It's a better movie than this.

I also want to add a little something here!!

I may not be a professional, but I have been in a LOT of productions; and I feel like sharing some wisdom would be nice :)

I'm going to use two of my most notable roles that I've played as examples:

Firstly, I played Ryan in high school musical. There are a few ways that you can play Ryan!!! he isn't just the shadow to Sharpay, he has his own thoughts and motives, even if he is dragged along with Sharpay's plan. Ultimately, I played him as a morally grey people pleaser. He has a good heart and cares a lot for his sister and wants to make her happy, but is conflicted with hurting the feelings of others. He can act a bit snobbish because of how he grew up and the people he surrounded himself with, but that's not all he is. When he finally snaps and tells the theatre director about Sharpay's scheme, that is the character point you are building up to. Showing Ryan's internal conflict is really important!!!

Secondly, coronal mustard from Clue. This is by far my favorite role I have ever played!!! building his character and who he was such a joy. Because he comes from a boardgame, there is a lot of room to play around with his backstory and personality!! my personal interpretation was to make him paranoid, a bit of a control-freak, and really childish. A notable thing from the official background of Mustard, was that he was in war. I wanted to explore what this can do to war veterans. Causing him to jump at the slightest of sounds and fear death ten times more than the other party members. He also was extremely dramatic and aggressive, I pushed his toxic masculinity to 100 lol. Essentially, I wanted him to have such a huge, strong masculine appearance he trying to push onto the people around him, but in actuality, he was a huge scaredy cat (and mommy's boy).

It's completely okay to twist the character away from other interpretations and make it your own! I was actually casted as Mustard because of my outside thinking! Remember to talk with your director about big changes, but ultimately, there was a reason you were casted as this character, so don't be afraid to add your own headcanons to your character :)

Also... I will add that my Mustard has little to zero social awareness lol, I wanted to play up my autistic headcanon for him (as an autistic person, all the characters I play are neurodivergent)

Any tips for someone who wants to play Mischa?

It is REALLY EASY (and imho, lazy) to just play Mischa as a one note comedic relief clown character. But tbqh, to me it’s rare that Mischa is actually TRYING to be funny, he just sort of naturally is. There is some serous heart there in him, he feels very deeply and aggressively. My personal advice on Mischa is to play him real. Find the human parts in him, play his stakes to 100% bc it is truly life or death to him. He has opinions on everyone and everything that’s happening on stage.

Don’t let the accent become a means of making him a caricature, it’s very easy to slip into that with it, but it’s just an extension of the character and nothing more. Look up some tutorials for how to speak with a Ukrainian accent on YouTube, I used this one to brush up on it!

This is more based on my personal interpretation of him; Remember that Mischa is still just 18. And like, by only a month. He has to be strong, mature, & adult bc he has had to to survive, but he’s still navigating his world & figuring out how to manage some seriously deeply rooted abandonment issues & anger management issues. He’s had his entire world taken from him, and was brought to a place that has primarily received him with hostility and resistance. He’s been branded the angriest boy in town bc no one around him (aside from the choir) has ever given him a real chance to show his true colors. But at the end of it, he’s still a sweet little romantic dude, he just needs a little bit of patience, a hug, and to be told it’s gonna be okay. Even if it’s not.

I don't have many pictures of them, but these were my cats, Song and Tanis. Song was mine tho, he always remembered me even when I'd been gone for a long time.

Song was a scaredy cat, but he had reason to be. The family that used to live across the street from where my mom used to live (just to be confusing) owned him. His name was Little Bit. They had an older son and a younger son. Well, one day the younger son got it in his head to try swinging the cat around by the tail, and got scratched for his efforts. So they kicked the cat out and wouldn't feed him anymore.

The first time I remember meeting him, I remember hearing this adorable kitten mew. I rushed to the front door to spot it, only to see this large, full grown black cat bounding up the walkway. He never got over the kitten voice either, it was just his little meeps and cheeps.

After he was kicked out, I remember him being at the back door to our house. I soooo wanted to let him in, but my mom said no. We had another cat, Mysti, and she was fine but was never really my cat, you know? I sat in the doorway of the sliding door petting him for as long as I could, pushing him back when he tried to get inside, but I was so sad when I had to come in for dinner.

The next weekend when I went over to Mom's house, we had a new cat, and he had a new name.

He was always skittish around new people, fleeing from the door whenever anyone came knocking. He was not a lap cat, did not like being pet, but he loved face scritches and lying in box lids. And he liked flopping next to me for cuddles too.

There was one Sunday night when I was up way later than I should have been, and finally made it to bed. He hopped up and begged for scritches, which I obliged for a bit. But I got tired and stopped, so he went and flopped (flopped) at my feet. Then I moved a little to get comfortable, and he came and flopped back down on my arm demanding more scritches. Because I am weak this pattern continued for at least an hour.

When I left for college, I didn't get to visit mom a lot. But I remember when I did finally get to visit, I came in the door, and Song took one look at me and bolted. Then I called his name the way I always did, and he stopped and turned right back around, coming up and begging for scritches. God I loved that cat.

Tanis tho, he was also a character. I loved him too, very much, though we didn't have quite the same bond as me and Song did. He had a hilarious arrival tho. My mom was reading on the couch one night, when this cat just crawled into her lap and made himself comfortable. She tossed him back outside, because she already had two cats thank you very much. He came back. She hosed him. He came back. She finally said fine, you want to live here, so be it.

When she took him to the vet to get him neutered, she found out this huge cat was actually still a kitten. Amazing. Had to wait a bit for that lol.

He was a cuddle bug. Put up with being picked up, would sit on your lap for hours, purry boy. There was one time I had squatted down to watch something briefly on the TV, and he hopped up into my lap as I balanced precariously on the balls of my feet. (It didn't last long, but I did try!)

He got hit by a car one day, or so we assume, as he had a cracked skull and missing tooth. (Definitely a reason not to let your cats outdoors). Around that time I was living with mom full time, and I helped take care of him. He let us spoon feed him, gosh baby food smells terrible lol, but we helped him through it. When he started getting better he started being a prima donna about it, acting like a big baby. It left him a bit more addled, and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan did he drool after that. You had a soggy lapful of happy cat tho.

They've both been gone for a while. They moved away with my mom so I didn't get to see them a lot in the last years of their life. That's really my only regret, because my brother really sucks at giving bad news, and made it really hard to hear when Song passed. Tanis too, but it wasn't quite as bad.

Teen Wolf characters and their The Untamed counterparts

Firstly, I've watched Untamed once, and mdzs never. Secondly, I bet lotsa ppl are gonna disagree with me, get over it LOL. thirdly, I'm going mostly by personality, NOT by story beats/relationships. Because that just wouldn't work here (unless it accidentally works!) LOL. and Lastly, I technically watched s4 and... s5? I think? but I barely remember any of s5 and I HATED s4 so. let's keep it to s3ab characters and earlier.

So here we go!

Wei Wuxian- Stiles is hands down WWX. Sassy, sarcastic, morally ambiguous, and thinks he's always in the right, and while he can be OFTEN in the right, he goes about it the wrong way. also fiercely loyal and clannish?? oh yes, Stiles and WWX are very, very, very similar. (Metawise, they're also the best and most dynamic actors in their respective shows, fite. me. (ง'-̀'́)ง)

Derek is difficult. I wish he could be LWJ, but that's just not his and Stiles' dynamic. (similar, but not quite) I kinda feel like he's more like Jiang Cheng or Nie Mingjue. They care deeply about family, but they all have very narrow views and it's hard for them to change track once they're on it. Nie Mingjue is basically a Lawful Good paladin with anger issues, Derek is basically a Neutral Good paladin with anger issues. So, yeah, Nie Mingjue would be Derek.

Hilariously: Lan Wangji- Boyd is the closest I could think of personality wise and I'm DYING. Stoic, reticent, secretly sassy, will fuck you up if you mess with his people, loyal to what he believes to be right and willing to leave behind what he believes to be wrong, even if that's dangerous or the more difficult path (especially for the sake of the person he loves)? Yeah, Boyd. Erica could kinda fit as WWX, maybe I should change my earlier casting and make this a Berica retelling? 🤣🤣

Lan Xichen- Sheriff could fill this role and personality pretty well. Though, I will say the show did NOT give LXC enough to do and he deserved to be as badass as the Sheriff. But: they are both diplomatic, work well with others, adaptive, and have a low tolerance for bullshit (they just can deal with it better). They are both extremely clever, but have a huge blindspot for the ones they love, to the point where they make excuses for bad behavior or trust on faith rather than evidence.

Nie Huaisang- Is it a hot take if I say Lydia?? Because Lydia. Lydia would be the first one to put the dots together (especially if they came after someone she loved). Honestly, TWreck did her fucking dirty. She's a literal genius, she's cunning, a survivalist, and ambitious. She also, like NHS, knows how to blend in and seem like the exact opposite of what she really is while still doing exactly what she wants when no one is looking. Could she pretend to be a Headshaking, vapid, scaredy cat while secretly pulling every string to get her revenge? Yes. Would she? Oh yes.

Jiang YanLi- She's gotta be Melissa. Helpful, takes care of her family, and others!, and is the rock. Y'all know JYL is the mom friend. Melissa is LITERALLY the mom. Perfect connection.

MianMian- Erica of course. Feral lady who don't take your shit. Who knows when to walk away and when to fight. She's not gonna sit back and let shit happen without trying to stop it. Hello, feral hero ladies~

Jin Zixuan- Based on his relationship with Mianmian rather than JYL, this would be Isaac. Best buds, sassy, judgemental, but under the snark and bitchiness is a good person who's honestly shy and sweet. The BABY who doesn't want anyone to know he's the babey.

Wen Qing- Allison would be a good fit here. She throws knives pretty well, WQ throws needles. Spine of steel and no fear. From a family with bad intentions, but rises above it in the end to be a good person with her own creed and beliefs. Is used by baddies, but manages to get out of it.

Jiang Cheng- Scott. Which I think actually does Jiang Cheng dirty. Scott's really a mix of Wen Ning (s1 Scott, and the sunshine boy of fanon, before the true Alpha bullshit) and JC. Devoted to his family, which is broken and small, with narrow views; when people disagree with him and what he thinks is right, he's furious and refuses to understand. Instead, he feels betrayed. Both characters have different motivations and reactions, so this is VERY broad strokes here. But it kinda fits with Melissa being JYL; if anything happened to Melissa and Stiles were somehow responsible?? Oh yeah, I definitely see a very similar reaction from Scott. Villain origin story.

WN- Scott or Kira, but I love the idea of it being Kira. Firstly, she and Allison would be together more! Working together, watching each other's backs! And I love Stiles and Kira together, so them being besties/Kira being his Ghost General? SO fun!🤩 Plus super powerful wrapped up in a sweetheart candy coating! yes yes and yes.

Jin GuangYao- Peter is manipulative, extremely clever, has zero scruples, while being a slithery little diplomat with Plans B, C, and Z all ready to go. Are they needlessly complicated and riddled with plotholes and Dramatique Reveals? Is there villain monolguing and faux-innocence? Do I also love the idea of Peter/Sheriff and LXC/MY ships with added betrayal angst and woe? um. YES.

Jin GuangShan- is Gerard. Do they have power they don't deserve, live longer than they should, and are complete scumbucket assholes who should die asap? yes. next.

A-Qing- Malia. Feral little girl? check. (imo, Malia should've been played as a teenager unable to BE a teenager because she spent EIGHT FUCKING YEARS AS A COYOTE, her mental development and maturity should've been stuck somewhere around 8, with waaaaay too many points in Survival skill) Dubious morals? check. I just like A-Qing a whole lot more. If Malia had been written more like A-Qing she would've been more fun.

I actually just read LWW this winter! It enjoyed it and I didn't know there were more in the same universe! I'll add them to my TBR! Honestly though, Jesus Lion made me laugh out loud when he was resurrected, my man put that symbolism behind a piece of glass.

LOVE THE HOBBIT 10000/10. It's so funny that you mentioned this because I've been listening to the audiobook as a bedtime story every night (Libby has a sleep timer and it's the best thing ever). The sons of Durin shoulda lived, and I would fist fight the professor over it.

Orwell is a whole different type of unhinged and I love him. I haven't got around to 1984 (yet) but I loved Animal Farm. It's clear enough to get the point across but still has so much depth, insight, and (dark) humour. I had to read some of his Spanish Civil War stuff in high school and i remember enjoying it (but it feels like 10000 years ago so I can't actually say that much)

I hate to say it, but I've never read Poe! I think I should rectify that soon!

Clockwork Orange and Flowers are on my tbr, but hearing good things from someone with impeccable taste might have bumped them to the top! I will keep you posted when I read them! My dad was also just talking about Flowers, so I think I'll have to tackle that one first. I've never heard of 9 Billion names but It's been added, too!

I haven't read a ton of poetry beyond stuff for school like Shakespeare and a smattering of Canadians but I loved all of the Langston Hughes poetry I read.

I'm fighting my way through Dune right now. I half love it and am super interested in the politics and world but also half FUCKING HELL FRANK STOP TELLING ME WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN and wait, what does that word mean again? I also made the mistake of googling a character to see what he looked like (the Baron) and got a huge spolier on the first page of google so >;( rookie mistake.

I'm going to stick it out but Princess Irulan is my least favourite character and she's not even in it yet.

Now the hard part, narrowing down which books to talk about lol.

I don't know if I have a favourite genre, but storygraph says I like fantasy, Sci-fi, classics, contemporary, literary, LGBTQIA+, Historical, Mystery, Romance and Magic Realism. hahah.

I really loved the Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. It's about the war in Cyprus, but with a bit of Magic Realism. It's tragic and beautiful with heartfelt characters. I couldn't put it down and I still think about it every few days. Also super fun, one of the characters is a tree!!!!!!

I will also read anything Sarah Moss writes even if it's totally freaky and fucked up (I'm looking at you Ghost Wall). Summerwater is my favourite though, it's almost like a bunch of short stories but intertwined into one. For instance, a woman is jogging and she passes an old man but in the next section, an old man judges the crazy runner jogging past his window at 6am. I love the style of her writing.

The last thing I read was the entire LOTR series and the appendices. They are perfect and amazing. I'm also deep into the Witcher universe.

Rapid fire faves; North and South, Maurice (and Alec by William di Canzio 10000/10), Graham Norton's books are (surprisingly) excellent, THURSDAY MURDER CLUB sooo good, Panenka, Scarborough, Washington Black, Maus, Emma, Pride and Prejudice, Fredrick Backman has some good reads but his style takes some getting used to.

I noted that you said you enjoy Greek myth, how do you feel about the new retelling style? (like song of Achilles, Galatea, Elektra, etc.) I think you might also like Piranesi, it was a wild ride but soooo good!

I do!!! I love talking about books I'll happily rec some of my favourites!

So I love older literature, mythology (mostly Greek!), and also 60s-90s science fiction and things like that :)

HOWEVER, one of my most favourite books of all times is definitely Good Omens! It's absolutely FANTASTIC and I could not recommend it more.

Moving on, we have:

The Picture of Dorian Gray. I could go ON and ON about that novel, it's so incredible and the way language is used for exposition and expression is just so amazing!!!

The entirety of the Narnia series. Most people only know The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, but having read the whole series, I think people are really missing out! My mum read the series to me and my sibling as bedtime stories when I was about 8-9ish (I think), and even then I thought all the allusions to things like religion and the way the stories connected to the time they were written in was super cool.

The Hobbit, which I know you've probably read! Just wanted to say it again since I love that book lol. Coincidentally, also something that was read to me as a bedtime story! I read it again afterwards, and it's definitely one of my favourites.

Animal Farm. Oh my god, that book. The way it's written to be a social commentary, and does that so incredibly well is just, oh. It's so good. Honestly I would recommend that everybody reads this novel, the important messages mixed in with the metaphors are just captivating!

Several works of Edgar Allen Poe- classics :) I'm a huge fan of his short stories!

Okay now for more sci-fi stuff!

Okay lol maybe this isn't sci-fi, but A Clockwork Orange is something I would highly suggest you read if you haven't. The subject matter definitely gets heavy in parts, but it's still really relevant and important.

Flowers for Algernon!!! This is one of the first sci-fi books I ever read. My dad said my sibling should be able read it, so out of spite I read the whole thing lmao BUT I adored it!!! There's a shorter version and a lengthened one, read the shorter one. It's written in the form of journal entries, and that really helps to show the progress and development of the main character, and I'm rambling now, but it's so so so good

9 Billion Names of God! It's quite short so I'm not going to say anything else too spoilery about it but AHHH this book

There's also a lot of poetry I'm a big fan of, but that's for a separate time :)
