I’m not getting any younger and at my age you become painfully aware of just how little time you have left in the grand scheme of things. It’s really starting to feel like loneliness might be it for me.“

He gave a small, dejected smile.

Okay. I've been tip-toeing around this AU for a while now, but I just got caught up, and now I think I have a (decent) grasp on what's going on. So I wanna go over everything I know so far to see if I'm right or wrong on anything. Don't know if you'd be willing to correct me or not. Either way, I hope my mistakes can help you understand what to clarify to other fans like me. But, I also have some questions. You probably won't be able to answer most of them, but it's at least worth a shot.

First, where's Venus? Like, why is she not in your comics that are (sort of) separate frome the canon now story. The ones that skip to the future way after all the turtles reunite. Did she die? Did she escape? Is it because she wasn't introduced yet when you made those comics?

Two, why do you keep on making references to the future timeline? I know you're planning on possibly making your own stuff leading up to the events of the movie. It just gives me a jumpscare when I see certain...imagery in those comics. I guess you're hinting at what your version of the future apocalypse would look like, but it just hurts to see. Specifically in the comic explaining both the events and aftermath of the movie and the bad future timeline. It's starting to really confuse my brain as to where this story is headed. What's meant to be the main focus? The Hamto's reuniting? The aftermath? Or the future?

Third, did you make all those min-comics before you started the actual AU? Or did you do them during?

Fourth, are any of those mini-comics relevant to the actual story now? Or have you changed your mind on a few things? It's just that everything is so all over the place, I don't really know whether to trust if they're accurate. I know most of them are just there for funzies, but the longer ones concern me. I guess I'm just not used to the storyteller doing sequel, start, prequel, start, sequel, prequel, prequel, sequel, and then end. Or maybe it's just me, and I'm sleep deprived.

My little observation speech is gonna take a while for me to get out in your asks because when I get theoretical, my speech gets long, and my proper English goes down the drain. So I'll be back. I appreciate your work very much. Despite the pain it causes me, it's still amazing.

I’ll try my best to clear up what confusion I can!

1. As far as Venus. The answer is kind of a mix of, I was still figuring out her design and backstory while coming out with some of those early comics, and then, once I had that down, I wanted the boys to grow strong bonds as a main cast. That’s why a lot of the side characters are only making small appearances in the Sep!AU Life stories, as those are mainly for the boys reconnecting. (Usagi shows up the most because I love him and am totally biased towards him).

This maybe hasn’t been stated outright, but I wasn’t really expecting so many ppl to like Vee as much as they do, and now im trying not to spoil too much of her story. It’ll unfortunately just take us a while to get to the meat of it. Since the boys reconnecting takes up a lot of the early s1s2 story, Im trying to follow the familiar Rise blueprint of Draxum, Shredder, Krang, and then in s3 we’ll have crazy fun new stories with the extra characters.

Ive also decided to take this little nugget from one of the Q&As, and use it for Venus instead of Jennika. It was a much needed bit of inspiration to explain why Venus sorta disappears for a while and will go through some major physical changes (not yet revealed) before the family can figure out a way to reach her.

2. I’m not sure if you mean jump scared in a bad/triggering or neutral way, but if you need me to tag anything on those posts please let me know!

The glimpses of the future timeline, are being scattered throughout wherever they parallel the present story in little ways, but that’s only for now. As we get closer to the movie plot, bigger chunks of the future will be revealed, because the future versions of the boys will have a larger role to play in the present timeline. So we will need more backstory than what the canon got. And also I just enjoy drawing my future versions so sometimes I don’t think too hard on a reason. I just like throwing them at ppl with no warning or reason.

When s2 ends, I plan on collecting all the future related stuff that’s been released, and recapping it for easier reading. Right now, it’s just little sprinkles of foreshadowing to give ppl an idea that, ‘oh crap. The doomed timeline is a bummer’. In my mind, I guess i thought it’d be kinda like a fun scavenger hunt for clues, but maybe ppl don’t like that 😅

3. All of the side-stories were written as the main comic was/is being released. A lot of them resulted from asks that just spawned the need to expand on certain ideas, or a desire to give all the turtles their time to shine.

For instance, when I was doing Donnie’s section of the main comic, it was a good few months where we hardly saw anyone but him and Venus. I wanted to just mix it up, and give Raph some love with his ‘Raph Time’ short. When Leo was front and center in the main, we hardly saw the others, so Mikey and Donnie got their little ‘Secrets’ short (and it was also I fun thank you for EW making it so far in the tmnt sep competition).

4. Anything that has been reworked/revised or just plain dropped should have an ‘Edit’ note because yes—I have gone back and changed some things, but more so from the asks i got in the early days, and some movie idea drafts.

All the short comics done in the last year, especially the ones that are listed in my pinned post, are canon and fall somewhere in the timeline. They’re like supplemental reading though—extra meat to give the world and the characters more personality. They do have particular backstory plot and important info in them, but nothing that shouldn’t eventually be re-visited/repeated in the main story.

um I hope that cleared up some things! I know it’s kind of a crazy amount of lore. I’ve tried my best to organize it in the pinned post, huge timeline, and search bar tags, but I know it’s getting harder and harder for newer ppl to jump in as it just get bigger. Thanks for reading regardless!

our interviewee today is @wormweeb, author of the cowboy au, nominee in the 2020 MCYTblr election, and overall MCYTblr veteran. below is a transcript of the questions and answers!

Q: What do you remember most fondly about “Early MCYTblr”? (2020-2021)

A: I think early mcytblr had the perfect mix of being an insular, small community with enough people actually posting (whether it be shitposts, art, fix, etc.) to keep the community alive. Perfect reblogger-creator ratio, I think. I loved seeing the familiar notifications from blogs that frequently RBed my stuff and familiar Urls in the tags (which I probably checked daily lol). There was this infectious energy that made being in the fandom so fun, with all the inside jokes and interactions and inter-blog familiarity.

Q: Do you recall your experience in the first MCYTblr election? What was it like?

A: Honestly, there was a lot of anxiety. I didn’t have many friends in the fandom in the sense that I didn’t often DM with people or talk in discord servers. I was kind of reclusive, so having to reach out to find running mates was nerve-racking! And then being thrust into a huge discord server with a bunch of other people I didn’t really know at all… It was all bizarrely anxiety-inducing. I didn’t really care about the results that much, since it was kind just a popularity contest (no hate, just true). I think the elections were cute and fun, another sort of fandom activity that I think only could’ve worked in an insular but involved fandom.

Q: Building off the last question– in my time archiving, I’ve seen people both hold you in high regard and condemn your blog wholesale. Is it odd to be talked about as a pseudo-historical figure in MCYTblr culture? 

A: It’s mind-boggling! When I did all my posting as wormweeb, roughly July 2020 to august 2021, I was 16/17 and literally never left my house due to quarantine. It’s bizarre to think I was influential in that microcosm of a fandom, because I was truthfully just Some Guy irl. It was weird to see the extremes of how people treated me, with some users (much younger than me, I should add) treating me like a cc, with other people acting like I was a toxic supervillain.

At the time, I was deeply concerned with my image in the fandom. I reveled in the shocked reactions to some of my more… avant guard posts… but I was also really bothered when people talked badly about me. I wanted to be liked and popular, but I also wanted to be shocking and critical. I had contradictory motivations behind my posting, which I probably lead to such polarized reactions to my presence in the fandom.

Ultimately, I think it’s super interesting to see how people talk about me — whether they remember me as ‘that one crazy truthing blog’ or the cowboy au author or a proto-critblr poster or a toxic bad takes poster, etc. I don’t take any of it too personally any more, thankfully.

Q: Do you think that MCYTblr’s cultural shift away from crit and ‘truthing’ has been an overall good or bad thing? 

A: I can’t really say. I think it’s natural that as a fandom expands, the most palatable takes will become the dominant ones, and any unpopular criticism / trutherisms will be pushed to the fringe. I can see why some people thought criticism was toxic and truthing was intrusive, but truthfully, I don’t think it reflected any poster’s moral character. I’m not involved in mcytblr anymore, so I don’t know exactly what the state of the current fandom looks like.

Q: Do you ever find yourself missing 2020-2021 MCYTblr? If so, what do you miss the most?

A: I often do miss that era of my life. Truthfully, I miss the attention and (infinitesimally small, microcosmic) cultural import I had. There was an exciting thrill that came with getting notifications every second of the day — that’s not an exaggeration either. I liked having people leave deranged asks in my ask box, or ask my opinion on some random streamer micro controversy, or people asking me when the next chapter of my fanfic would come out (lol). I, of course, miss the other elements of being in an active fandom — the fanfics, the fan artists, the familiarity between blogs,

However… I also know I was mentally unhealthy during that time. I was isolated, so it was fun and exciting to be an ultra-micro celebrity, but at the same time, I took it way too seriously. Because I painted myself as some sort of moral guardian, the great Intellectual Critiquer of content creators, I was terrified to make any bad takes… which, ironically, I made a lot of. I had painted myself into a corner both being dteam critical and (unfortunately) a genuine dteam stan at the time.

Q: Several in-jokes have lost their context (jewge, ancap dream, tradwife george/dream, homophobic dream and sapnap, republican dream, mega milk sapnap/george, etc). Would you like to provide their context, for archival and media literacy purposes?

A: Here’s a rundown for all of them!

“Jewge” was actually sparked by warpedfungusonastick, which I helped popularized. There are a few old videos where George’s friends called him jewge, and that combined with his ashkenazi last name led me to speculate he was jewish — for what its worth, im also jewish. Unfortunately, I think those videos of baby jewge have been lost to time. But nonetheless, that spawned a mini-jewge fandom, which jewge fanart!

Tradwife George and dream… I don’t know even know. I think the idea of “male wives” was trending on general Tumblr at the time. There was already this fandom idea of Dream being a “needy top” and George being the sugar baby/bitchy/uninterested love interest, which I just transplanted onto the idea of tradwifery. Dream as the doting tradwife, George as the unloving tradwife, etc.

Republican/Anarcho-capitalist dream — Ah, this one is kind of embarrassing!! I was really into jreg, and I was, for the first time ever, exposed to political ideas outside of the generic democrat vs republican dichotomy. I was really fascinated by right-wing libertarian or “ancap” ideology, and I already saw dream as a kind of self-made capitalist success story. At least, that’s what he portrayed himself as. My critique of dream and calling him ancap/republican was kind of a baby’s first leftism moment for me… but I nonetheless think the jokes were mostly funny.

Homophobic dream / sapnap — They gave me republican vibes. Dream especially, with some of his older, unsavory tweets, reeked of edgy gamergate humor.

Megamilk sapnap — I didn’t really pioneer this one! I believe this was mostly a Tumblr user who I think was pandascanpvp, or it was Plates gayminecraftmen (or both).

I’ll use this opportunity to catalogue a few more obscure wormweeb-pioneered AUs.

Homestuck au! I think I imagined it as dream = dirk, George = Jake English. Colournotfound (rip gone but not forgotten) did so much of the sustaining of the au.

Q: What was your physical, mental, and emotional reaction when kaceytron pulled up your crit post on stream?

A: Baffled. Excited. God, I wish I had clipped it! I still have a screenshot. I desperately hoped she would read it to dream (who joined the stream later). That felt like I had peaked as a cc stan blog… having a C-list streamer pull up my post on stream. Literally google searching “dream queer baiting” because she didn’t even know what she was accusing him of, or how to support her argument.

Q: Is there anything else you particularly want to share or talk about? 

A: I was just want to say that although I don’t watch or support any member of the dteam any more, I still am proud of the cowboy au. It’s kind of a relic of the time (especially the gnf and Maya mxmtoon stuff). The general response to the fanfiction was… wow!! Everyone who commented on that fanfiction was so exceedingly kind. People even drew fan art. I am still happy to have written something that, despite the inherent cringeness of it, positively affected so many people.

I really should have clarified this is almost directly after the other Cryptid and Quackity in formal wear arts I’ve done. which I don’t think I’ve ever really explained? because honest i haven’t decided all the details. i just know that a fancy event is held at las nevadas and afterwards the las nevadas crew kinda like, goes around the server? like bar hopping but without the bars? they’re still all deunk though. it’s very chaotic.

They just so happen to run into staged duo (not directly but staged duo can see them, if they actually had awareness they’d probably be able to see them too)

and uhhhhhhh welll Cryptid and Q aren’t exactly.. obeying quaritoine rules?/platonic this pisses both Dream and Punz off. amd wellll Punz is kinda the more confrotational of the two?(he feels like he should fight dream’s battles because he wasn’t there for him in prison)

so he uhhh yoinks his child cryptid. They do not appreiate this. Q also, does not appreiate this. but Punz kept Quackity in his basement for 2 weeks and experiemented on him, safe to say he has the intimadation points. and the height advantage.

Anyway yeah that’s all the context I SHOULD have given. But brain was wprking a mile a minute because dod!Punz is walking contrictions if they were good at pvp. and I love him for it.

to elaborate on that. the guy is one, trying to gaslight himself imto thinking he doesnt want to make out with Dream, two trying to gaslight himself into think he doesn’t care about Cryptid.

which like…. wrong but also he does truly hate Cryptid a bit and is hella jealous of them. He also has tucked them into bed and condsidered for a brief second staying with them when they request him to.

And that’s not even touching how Cryptid feels about him. because he is the reason for aproximately a 4th of their issues. and also their idol a bit.

and they just hate each other but also care about each other in such an interesting mix.

Punz genuinely thinks they are a brat and that they are incredibly dramatic about how bad their lofe is because they have it ”good” in his eyes. but he also genuinely would never want to see them hurt and seeing them with Quackity makes him seeth because their risking their safety and also that their wasting their potential which he begrudgingly admits they have.

But also. he is the only person on the server to have scarred Cryptid(physically I mean), when they first met properly he held a dagger to their throat. they were fine, it’s just a little scar but it was still signifagant. He is also one of the only people to have hit them, the only other person being Quackity, was only once. still happened though.

Sorry this kinda just spiralled to me rambling about dod!punz with no real end point but he’s one of my favorites for just how convoluted he is. i would ramble more. but also it’s 6:30 am and I should go to bed lol.

🌻 ABOUT ME

I’m Filipino and live in the Eastern US.  Immigrant parents and an unconventional background have made me pretty passionate about diaspora Asians in the West—as well as continental Asian culture as it’s warped by globalisation—so I tend to create OCs with that representivity in mind.  Even if it’s very subtle and not at all profound—focusing on Eastern tropes, values, and themes rather than Western ones, mostly—I just think it’s neat!

Beyond that, I’m a disabled¹ survivor² with weird idiosyncrasies regarding gender,³ sex, and romance,⁴ and suffer the paradoxical curse of being both a high-maintenance extravert who never shuts up and extremely, painfully shy…

Q: Did Mario and Luigi come from Earth like in canon or have they always been in the fantasy world?

It’s a passing mention in Chapter 1, but Mario and Luigi grew up in an orphanage that still sends them a monthly stipend (allowance). They’ve always been a part of this Regency-era Mushroom Kingdom, but are still outcasts in a way.

Q: Is Luigi allergic to flowers?

Not all flowers, just the really pollen-y and smelly ones (like lilies).

Q: How tall are Luigi and Bowser?

Luigi is 5’8” (~172cm) and Bowser is 6’4” (~193cm) For a visual reference:

Q: Are we gonna get Bowuigi smut??

Waterho: There will absolutely be smut. GreyEnnuigi can only stop me for so long. 😈 GreyEnnuigi: Don’t worry; the Explicit Sexual Content and Dom/sub tags are not just for show (and note that we did not add the Rape/Non-con archive warning). Consensual spicy times will come! And so will Bowser and Luigi!

Q: Could you give a summary of the smut in the chapter notes if it’s plot-relevant?

The smut will be plot-relevant at some points, so we can definitely do this.

Q: Will Luigi get his own emotional support animal for his anxiety (like Polterpup)?

Waterho: Does Bowser count as an emotional support animal? GreyEnnuigi: We haven’t planned for a Polterpup in this story, as there’s already a fair bit going on plotwise. Putting a dog into the mix might well and truly throw us off the rails. ;)

Q: Will Luigi be able to overcome his anxiety? I want to see Luigi put someone in their place after they insulted him.

Luigi actually does this during the announcement dinner in Chapter 8 in this exchange with Lord Booking: Lord Booking paled a bit, his mouth turning into a slight frown. “Indeed. Such a delicate flower must be hidden away, for exposure to that world would surely wither it.” […] [Luigi] straightened himself up, still holding Lord Koopa’s hand open in both of his own, then addressed Lord Booking directly: “Some flowers may thrive in the shade and wilt in the sun, but it does not make them any less a part of this world, Lord Booking.” Lord Booking is implying that Bowser is hiding Luigi away because he’s a commoner in a noble’s world and can’t handle the change. Luigi’s response is essentially, “Yeah, I’m a commoner and I’ve lived my life differently, but that doesn’t mean I don’t belong here.” Don’t worry, we like character growth in this house. ;) GreyEnnuigi: On the same sort of subject, if you ever have questions about the fancy Regency language, don’t be afraid to ask! It’s very flowery and can be complicated, especially if English isn’t your first language. I’d be happy to “translate” any passages for you into modern English.

Q: Is there going to be a good or bad ending?

There is going to be a happy ending! This is a fairytale retelling, after all. ;)

Q: You started this fic as a joke, but now it’s not a joke anymore. How did that conversation happen?

A few things to note before we answer this: 1. GreyEnnuigi has wanted to write a Regency AU for a while. 2. We saw the Mario movie together and started reading Bowuigi fics because we couldn’t get enough. 3. We noticed that a lot of Bowuigi fics had a Beauty and the Beast theme. Q: What is it like making a chapter for this fic?

Waterho: basically, I supply the maladaptive daydreaming, and GreyEnnuigi supplies the prose and structure. Then we add it up and try to create a somewhat cohesive narrative. Many of our conversations these days start with “ok listen….” GreyEnnuigi: We have the overall plot planned out and most of it outlined, so we already know what main plot events we want to happen in each chapter. After that it’s a matter of filling the rest of the chapter by fleshing out the characters, doing a bit of worldbuilding, and making sure we’re progressing all the relationships properly. This usually happens with Waterho proposing a specific scenario, then we ask ourselves how this and that character would react and does that fit with the plot, and then we agree on how the situation unfolds. Then I write it all out, Waterho tries to convince me to add fluff and smut too early, I rein it back in and write something more subtle, and then we review, edit, and post. Here’s an example of this sort of back-and-forth from our chat transcript: 23:00 GreyEnnuigi thinking I'm gonna start chapter 3 with Kamek confronting Bowser about Luigi, but what else should happen in ch 3 after that 23:00 Waterho Let’s see the part where bowser [redacted for spoiler reasons] 23:01 GreyEnnuigi ooh so soon?? 23:02 Waterho If we want to draw it out more we could push that part off 23:02 GreyEnnuigi i just don't want Bowser to be too soft at the beginning 23:02 GreyEnnuigi Luigi needs to wear him down first lol 23:02 Waterho Fair enough

Q: Is this fic definitely going to have 20 chapters?

With what we currently have planned and outlined, 20 chapters is our best estimate for how long the story will be. It’s very possible this will change, and if it does, it’s more likely that we’ll end up with more than 20 chapters as opposed to less.

Q: Is there a schedule for uploading chapters?

We don’t currently have a schedule and we’re just posting the chapters as we finish them. That being said, we’ve been on a pace of about 1 chapter every other day. That could definitely change, though, so don’t expect us to stick to that.

Q: In this world hetero is not seen as the default. Did you write it this way because you didn’t want to focus on the homosexuality topic but more on the Bowser/Luigi ship itself?

Short answer: Yes. Long answer: The concept of homosexuality being accepted in this AU came about as we were discussing the reason Bowser would accept Luigi in exchange for Peach as a spouse. If we were to follow realistic Regency-era ideologies, then it would be extremely unlikely for Bowser to take Luigi as a spouse as he is (i.e. a cis man). We wanted to follow the Beauty and the Beast storyline, which at its core is our protagonist falling in love with someone who is widely regarded as unlovable. It wouldn’t have made sense to include homophobia in the plot, and that wasn’t the story we wanted to tell. Also, the beauty of fiction is that we can make our own rules and do whatever the hell we want with it, so we did!

Bank robbery or crime gang au

You get Alejandro who is the one in charge

Noah the brains

Justin the distraction for the police and just the attractive distraction

Tyler is the “athletic” one really he’s also part of distraction the other one they shove in the vents

Wayne (don’t ask no one knows why he is even here) is the getaway driver

Cody the hacker and the one they shove into the vents

Trent is the second getaway driver is Wayne is knocked out and he’s also helps Cody when he is shoved in the vents (Trent tells where Cody need to go when Cody is in the vents)

Owen is also part of the distraction team and somehow supplies the group with firearms of all things?

Harold is the main hacker

Duncan is I guess the Jack of all trades?

Total Drama Bank Heist AU sounds like a fun little crack idea, I'm on board.

If I could suggest something, I'd like to offer both Noah and Harold as the groups' 'Guy(s) In The Chair', with Noah using his canonical hacking abilities to scout out their chosen heist area using it's security cameras and/or downloading the bank's blueprints digitally (pretty sure he did something similar to this in Dramarama?) and Harold utilizing some of his various Mad Skills to plan the group's course of action and probably man their comms. I say this because Noah can't stand Harold, so making them work together as the groups' off-site organizers would/could be hindered by the two of them bickering instead of actually working. (Also because I can't imagine a world in which Noah would willingly do something as physically straining as robbing a bank. Mission intelligence, however, is right up his alley; he and Harold absolutely fight over who gets to be called 'Q'.)

Having Alejandro as the main group's de facto leader just feels right, and I don't think they'd need someone dedicated to being the 'Brains' with him around (though that title would go to Harold and Noah technically). He's quick witted enough to think up plans of action on the fly and devious enough to charm his way through a tough spot, all whilst being physically capable enough to fight his way through trouble- if anything I'd say Alejandro is the 'Jack of all Trades', thought 'The Leader' is probably a more appealing moniker to him.

Justin as 'The Eye Candy' also feels natural- it's his best (only) talent! He's been shown in canon to be a bit of a schmoozer, so complimenting/flirting his way through the banks' guards/employees and working as a distraction is perfect for him, especially since I doubt Justin would want to do any dirty work and risk damaging his 'perfect face/body'.

Duncan and Tyler would be 'The Brawn', with Duncan actually being an effective physical threat whilst Tyler is... Tyler...

Though Duncan could also be 'The Wildcard', since his loyalty isn't exactly assured at any given moment. Whilst I doubt he's ever rat the others out for his own assured freedom/safety, abandoning them at the scene while he makes his escape? That's a total Duncan Move (he learned it from Courtney in TDDDDI).

I honestly can't see Owen as a heister, unless he was somehow tricked/blackmailed into tagging along, but if he was he's be similar to Tyler- though his title would be something along the lines of 'The Beefcake'- just some extra muscle who's not particularly good at being extra muscle.

Cody would be the safe cracker. He's small and "quick on his feet" (his words), he's literally built for crawling through vents and cracking open safes! He's smart enough to be a code breaker, though he rarely shows it, and I also think it's a nice nod to his bomb diffusing fear- it's a similar course of action.

Trent as the getaway driver also just feels right. He's laid back enough to be contented to just sit and wait for the others to finish their heist, and his poker face is pretty good so one one really suspects him to be involved in the others' ongoings. He probably plays indie rock songs from the 80s as they speed away from the scenes of their crimes, and he absolutely owns a pair of mirrored shades that he only wears when it's Time To Go- he thinks they make him look cool (they don't, but no one has the heart to tell him).

I could see Cody as a secondary getaway driver as well, if Trent's unavailable, utilizing his baby face and unassuming demeanour to divert suspicion from himself. "No officer, I'm not a getaway driver. I'm just a baby, don't you see the learner's plate on my Vauxhall Corsa?" He has a terrible poker face though. If they were ever pulled over or caught he'd admit to everything without prompting.

I can't really think of a way of including Wayne, given the canonical age difference, unless said age difference is lessened in this AU. If he's, say, 16 whilst the rest of them are in their early 20s, I'd suggest that he's Owen's younger cousin who's tagging along because the group couldn't find a way to dissuade him from joining without him (either intentionally or inadvertently) tattling on their whole schtick. He's got no idea what's really happening- he's aware that they're heisting but Wayne doesn't have the, uh, cerebral constitution to connect "Bank Heist" to "Committing Actual Crimes"- but he's having a Great Time regardless! Alejandro has him on lookout duty (read: Wayne sits outside of the bank, oblivious to the legality of the situation) which Wayne takes very seriously... until he gets bored and hangs out with Trent/Cody in the car.

Now for extras!

Their main opposition is a specialised group of investigators who are assigned to their case- since they mark each heist with their group's name but have yet to be caught (They probably get Duncan to tag the side of their hit banks with a crudely drawn Bull Head or something in bright red spray paint). They're not cops, but they do work with them (ew) to try and finally catch the heisters.

Heather, alongside Courtney, Gwen, Leshawna, Lindsay, Beth and Sierra, work in this special ops. group; they're all specialised agents who are dispatched to the scenes of the heists to try and catch our boys in the act.

(I think Sierra would make a really good intelligence operator, given her canonical ability to run ~22+ blogs simultaneously and dig up private information on people. She'd direct the others towards whichever bank she finds Harold and Noah hacking into.)

They occasionally enlist the help of Izzy and Eva for the extra muscle, but the duo are too temperamental to be a full-time part of their operation.

(Yes I added my girlies as a rival group. It's Gender Wars Time. S1E14 all over again but this time there's less gross food and more LITERAL CRIME‼‼)

Fic stats meme!

Thanks so much for the tag @mashumaru ! I had actually seen this from @theanishimori , and had copied it into a note to do, but hadn’t followed through. This was the impetus I needed!

Rules: give us the links to your fic with the most hits, second most kudos, third most comments, fourth most bookmarks, fifth most words, and fic with the least words.

Most hits: With 10,000 more than the next fic, it’s Sort It. Which is my Sherlock & James Bond crossover with Q as a Holmes brother and featuring Mystrade. The Q as a Holmes brother trope is so good, but it hasn’t been written all that much, and at least when I wrote Sort It there was almost none with prominent Mystrade (I haven’t looked lately). So this story fits a specific niche in the fan fic universe that people are interested in reading but there’s precious little out there. It still gets a couple kudos each week and tops most of my stats.

Second most kudos: The Century Gentleman. This is my Sandman post-show canon straight forward Dreamling getting together story. And my problem with it is that I’ve read So Much Dreamling getting together that is so much more interesting and creative than what I’ve written that I’ve gotten a little meh on it. But I posted it in the early days of the show fandom when people were dying for Dreamling content, so it got a lot of kudos. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve done better.

Third most comments: This is Sort It again. It gets beat by Loverboy and Seven, which are both more than one chapter and I waited between posting chapters so some people were kind enough to comment more than once.

Fourth most bookmarks: Lonely Two-Legged Creatures. My only Star Wars fic and my only fic to have a title from a song lyric. DinLuke. I’ve written 3 out of 4 chapters and it haunts me. Tops my list for number of subscriptions. I do think what I’ve written is quite good. Every few months I think about trying to finish it. Maybe someday I will.

Fifth most words: Law School Days. Another unfinished multi chap but this one doesn’t haunt me that much because very few people were interested in it. It’s part of my Arcane, Jayvik, environmental lawyers AU - HexLaw Stories. As the title suggests it’s a prequel for the rest of the series where the characters are in law school. I adore this story. I think part of the reason I ran out of steam on it was because I was bummed about the lack of reaction it was getting. I could see returning to this series when Arcane season 2 comes out, so maybe I’ll end up finishing this.

Fic with the least words: Tie between Talk and Promise which have 360 words each. The Mystrade fandom has the 360MG format in which a story must be exactly 360 words and end with words starting with M and G. I’ve written 2 of them. I’m proud of both but hitting the word limit was really difficult.

List of OCs

I was recently asked to list out all the ocs that I have so far. Some of them have been flesh out to written pieces, others are just ideas that I’ve mentioned briefly (and hope to maybe write fics about but that is up in the air). I will try to link to the pieces, as well as the asks tags. I will add to this as things go along.

I like doing little oc games with them so be on the look out for when I reblog the prompts. It’s the best way I can expland on these ocs, especially the ones I haven’t fully written for.

First I want to start with the ocs that I get asked the most about bc there is just more material on them or I plan on writing full length things for their character in the recent future:

Myrah Everlane: main of Finding Common Cause. Lower nobleborn woman from the Vale. Set in an au where Aegon becomes king and everyone lives. Myrah and Aemond do eventually get married and have children. Use tags: oc inspo: myrah, and fcc asks for her. I also have answered asks about a modern fcc universe. Use tags: modern fcc asks, oc inspo: modern Myrah, and modern fcc inspo

Cassandra Devereux: based off my finished fool me once fic (an Aemond x reader fic). This is an au where their family lives after the dance, making Aemond king, and Cassandra queen with their kids as princesses and princes. It’s their journey post losing everyone, and navigating running the realm. I write mainly short blurbs and such for them. Use tags: fmo k&q au, and oc inspo: Cassandra

Next are ocs that I have written one part for or they are just eventual ideas that I would like to expand on

Elysa: she is from Drowned in Love. My alys x oc x Aemond fic. She is a bastard born Tully. This happens towards the end of the dance. Both alys and Elysa have Aemond’s children. It is has three parts already but is paused at the moment. There is a drowned in love inspo tag and a dil asks tag

Edith: She is from Acquired Taste. An Aegon centric fic. I don’t have much on her, other than these fashion post I like making for my ocs. I planned on making a part 2 for this story but as of now, it is paused. There is a few posts that can be found in the acquired taste asks tag

Nina: my modern Royal oc. This is more an idea that would like to flesh out eventually. Also an oc with little info bc I haven’t said much about her. All I have is that she is an Epidemiologist that meets Aemond when he is visiting labs (post pandemic) for funding. Very much ‘commoner’ becomes a princess type of story. I also have a modern royalty inspo tag

Clarisse: greek life au. This was an idea I had for an oc x Aemond x daeron idea. Basically daeron likes clarisse who Aemond. Greek life au and inspo tag is where you can find stuff but is it sparse

Now this character technically isn’t an oc yet. She if my first Aegon x reader fic, set in the modern universe - one step forward two steps back. It is also paused, much like my other Aegon fic but if I ever were to continue it, I’d want to make her an oc named Ivy. You can look through osftsf asks

I’m gonna group Jocelyn Velaryon (formerly known as Laenora) and Wylla in the same one. These are two ocs I had around the same time. Jocelyn is the youngest daughter of corlys and rhaenys. Wylla is a northerner/warg. I really want to write a northerner oc eventually.

Writer Q&A Tag

Thank you @a-lumos-in-the-nox for the tag. These questions were so exciting to answer, I loved every minute of it.

How many complete fics/oneshots do you have (that you have not published (yet))?

Technically none. I have one chapter of a Link fic I’ve been working on forever completed. But no completed one shots or fics that are unpublished, I’m more of a work for a bit and then abandon. 

 How many WIPS do you have right now?

Anywhere from four to six

Do you take writing requests or write original ideas, or both?

Both! I love writing requests I think it is super fun and it gives my brain a bit of a break. I like having people telling me what they want me to write. But I do also love having my own ideas and writing them down, though they do take a bit longer. 

How many fandoms do you write for? 

I write primarily for TASM/Spider-Man fandom so like one big one. But I will occasionally write for other Andrew characters here and there.

Are there any fandoms you wrote for in the past, that you no longer write for? 

I’ve been writing fanfiction for a very very very long time. Since I was about 12 actually, not saying it was good but I did it. In order I wrote for: One Direction, Harry Potter, The Amazing Spider-Man, Panic! at the Disco, and Criminal Minds. And now I write solely for TASM

Do you write for ships, reader inserts, or other?

I write primarily for x readers. But I have in the past written ships, and original characters x fandom characters. Which is something I would love to get back into but I fear that with OC/Fandom Character some people would feel left out even though that’s primarily what I write and then just go back and edit to be x reader. 

Niche fandoms/characters you write for?

I guess all of Andrew Garfields random characters he’s played? Jeb, Link, and Sam are a few I have WIPs on. I’m not sure if they can go here, but I’m putting them here. 

Do you read fics as well as write them?

Duh. If it weren't for the fics I’ve read and actively participated in I don’t think I would have ever started writing. Other writers inspire me everyday till this very day, fanfic writing is all about community and I like inspire and cradle creativity into one another intentionally or not. 

What is your favorite genre (angst/fluff/whump/etc) to write for?

Depends solely on my mood and the character I am writing for. I really enjoy hurt-comfort, and fluff. Which is shocking compared to the amount of smut on my page.

What is your favorite trope (to read and/or write)?

Reading I love Mafia AU’s, College AU’s. If you couldn’t tell I’m very big on friends and lovers. I often also enjoy a supernatural au here and there and like Person A is immortal and in love with every iteration of the love they’ve had since the 1500’s.

Writing I’m pretty basic I write a lot of mafia au’s and college au’s. I write a lot of read so friends to lovers, I haven’t written supernatural on here but I would love to try it out. I also like to write fixed endings, or elaborate on endings I did not like or felt like need answers. Which is what I am doing with Link and Jeb currently.

What do you do to get motivated to write?

Music. That’s it pretty much I build playlists for characters or fics I want to write and I listen to those while writing. Occasionally pictures I feel that capture what I want to write will inspire me, but mostly music.

Is there a trope/genre you like to read, but not write?

I am a sucker for absolutely unhinged, dark Peter Parker. And I have tried and tried to write it but it never comes out good, it’s always really pitiful when I do it. But I love to read it.

Any characters/fandoms you want to write for that are never requested?

I really wanna write for Jeb from Under the Banner of Heaven..so bad. 

How long have you been writing fanfiction?

Since about 2013

Did you read fanfiction before you started writing?

I did, yeah! I started writing for multiple reasons but I still to this day love reading more than writing it.

Do you only post on tumblr, or other sites as well? (feel free to promote). 

I only post on tumblr (I was a Wattpad girl back in the day but I will never go back.) However, I’ve been considering writing on AO3 to widen my audience. 

What do you personally consider the word counts of "drabbles", "oneshots" and "fics" (+other?)?

This is gonna sound really dumb but I don’t have a clue. I really don’t know, I go off of whatever I feel like it is and if I see it turning into a fic or a mini series. If it is not gonna be turned into something bigger and it’s less than 1K its a drabble anything over 1K is whatever I feel like it is. 

Which do you prefer to write more? Headcanons, Drabbles, Oneshots/Fics,  Multi-Chapter Stories, or other?

Depends on how much muse I have really. I would love to make a big multi chapter story but I absolutely suck at world building. So I usually stick to oneshots/fics and then roll from there. 

Are there any stories you have discontinued? If so, why?

That’s the Price. Not so much discontinued, just hasn’t been updated for a year because I don’t know how to write the final chapter. It technically has a sound ending but..

 What is one of your main "pet-peeves" as a writer on tumblr?

Not reblogging, It is the most important form of engagement for writers, and what hurts a little bit more is writers who go on about how important reblogging is for their fics but won’t reblog anyone else’s stuff feels like a kick in the face. 

Do you write at a particular time of day?

I do most of my writing around noon or at night because I like to be alone when I write. 

Do you listen to music, ambiance/noise, etc. to write, or do you need silence?

I have my little playlists that get me going, they’re never consistent and usually based on whatever I’m trying to write. If I’m not in a music mood, I’ll put on a YouTube video or something to match.

Do you outline your fics at all before writing?

Nope, fuck it. We roll with the punches. 

Do you post your writing as soon as you finish it, or do you schedule it to come out at a specific time/day?

I will publish it as soon as I finish. I’ve tried to schedule them for set days but it never works when I try to use it, and if I let it sit in my docs I will end up hating it and it will never see the light of day.

Thinking about adding a faq sheet to one of my fic series

Q: why is your fic so wrong about canon?

A: because, as mentioned in both the tags and author’s notes, it’s an AU, and diverges from canon for the sake of the alternate plot

Q: why are you so stupid?

A: because you lack whimsy so I have to carry yours as well as my own.

Q: why are you such a bitch, I’m just asking questions?

A: I took a plagiarism to the good faith, and now I’m permanently crippled in my benefit of the doubt.

Q: are they gonna kiss?

A: i dunno, maybe if the vibes feel right, but you can imagine it happened off screen if they don’t, even if I expressly wrote them as ace and sex repulsed, because I cannot police the inside of your mind.
