i don’t know if i’m ever gonna write the fic but i’ve been thinking abt like. the eternal stockade. the implications. lup, a lich who was trapped in a dark featureless cell for a decade completely isolated with nothing to keep her sanity but her own mind. she has to put people in the eternal stockade. how many liches does she see herself in. how many liches started out just like her. how many liches are truly too far gone. and the only liches we ever see other than her and barry are edward and lydia. they’re certainly evil, but mad? they seem pretty sane. they’re not, like, tattered echoes of souls, they’re definitely still people. even as much of a grudge as lup surely has against them, wouldn’t they remind her incredibly strongly of herself? do they deserve to be trapped just like she was? for eternity? isn’t eternity what turned john to existential despair in the first place?

WARDENS of a PRISON. would that not be uncomfortable??#but like taking the job is the only way to avoid HER being thrown in prison??#idk the raven queen being a cool & chill goddess boss is definitely fun but when you actually think abt it #i don’t think i’d agree with her. i think if i lived in that world i’d think she were sort of evil #which like also to get into the hunger vs authority its not very explored because its not at all the point #the hunger is meant to be nihilism and despair and dissatisfaction its at its core an emotional story about joy & love #but like john starts out rebelling against laws. laws of the universe; except that it turns out a being wrote those laws (jeffandrew)#so the hunger is also sort of a force of rebelling against unjust constraints in the pursuit of freedom?#and the heroes end up preserving the status quo and saying you just have to find joy within those unjust limitations #which again. like. the point is that life is unfair and you can find joy and meaning despite it. which is true to real life.#i’m not saying the hunger was right or that despair is the only way or w/e like #yk like taz balance is not a story about society its more about. philosophy i guess #the point is that life’s really hard and you find meaning anyway and that’s preferable to despair and death #thematically for the audience we understand these are standins for ways of viewing reality #and in the real world reality is what it is. its just the world. there’s no authority that writes the laws of nature #like its not a ‘man vs authority’ story its a ‘man vs nature’ story #but IN UNIVERSE nature IS an authority. jeffandrew and the gods. regardless of how much joy you can find in an unjust world #if i lived in it i’d want to make it more just! but anyway like yeah barry & lup working for the raven queen #is kinda an extension on that idea of preserving the status quo #although i guess you could say gods are just forces of nature. theyre not PEOPLE theyre just personifications of existent natural laws #and it ties in w istus and fate as well #although fate is like a comforting guiding force rather than restricting & horrifying #^ pay no attention to any of this i don’t think it really means anything i’m just like. writing thoughts as i have them #not like a hard stance i’m taking just exploring some ideas #any ways #THERES A TAG LIMIT??

I’ve mentioned before, I’m making a folklore book for my baby nibling and of course we want a multi-regional book of folklore so I am desperately trying and failing to find a Mesopotamian myth where sex isn’t too important a plot point

#I found a work around for Odin hanging himself on the World Tree but idk if I can save Nergal and Ereshkigal #so many descents and returns from the underworld for my yet wee nibling #bc they are going to be a winter solstice baby <3 #00 #Nergal’s Descent into the underworld and then courtship of the Queen of the dead is so interesting #and it is so fragmented I can read it as sweeter than I probably originally was #god of war getting humiliated and having to go to the underworld to apologize to Ereshkigal #only to get there after doing all these tricks to ensure he can return from the underworld #he gets there and immediately decides I am going to trick my way into a throne by this Queen’s side 😍#who else has ever traveled to the land of the dead and been like I gotta- I gotta figure out a way to stay here forever #ur blorbo could never #but yeah he does all the traditional avoidances of drinking or eating in the underworld m #but the one rule he breaks is that he mustn’t sleep with Ereshkigal #he said o no but she’s hot #the line is «that which men and women do together» so I guess I could change it to kissing #or like the act of talking/falling in love #which is what I did for a Tristan and Isolde type variant #Ianna/Ishtar’s descent into the underworld would have been the traditional winter solstice/turning of the year myth of choice #but it is so… esoteric bc it is fragmented as well #there is some meaning that is not coming through and as it stands I don’t like the… un-nuanced take on Ianna #Goddess of Love and Sex is vain? tired and boring #I feel like I’d need to become an assyriologist and actually study it for a while to do it any justice

i feel like shri’iia should’ve been an oath breaker in act 1…..not finding a lot of opportunities to break her oaths in act two currently but like imagine breaking her oaths via telling minthara where the grove is THEN betraying her when she rolls around because she’s a traitor to lolth ….it’s much juicier than 1v1-ing her in her office imo…

#for the record I’m not completely against love triangles #is it annoying? yes but it’s not the worst trope out there #anyway just finished heart of the sun warrior and *sigh*#it’s a shame bc I rlly liked the first book but I feel v lukewarm abt this book #I get why xingyin wouldn’t be happy with liwei but wenzhi… no #I was honestly expecting a tight friendship with wenzhi or maybe even a polyamorous relationship #I’m just so disappointed #I think I’ll just treat daughter of the moon goddess as a stand-alone #honestly didn’t rlly need a second book but I thought I’d enjoy it bc of the characters + writing #I’m sad #misu.txt

#unfortunately i think this means that Revamp will in fact be BounPrem’s last BL - there’s not really another explanation for the lack of #other joint projects except that they will be transitioning out of it. could be wrong but between getting nearly nothing next year #and Revamp filming being pushed back over 6 months — coming on 2 yrs since we first heard of it — and them #not having a single joint show in between… I wouldn’t be surprised if after revamp (assuming it actually happens) is finished BounPrem will #split or at least announce their departure from BL officially #I hope I’m wrong because I absolutely love them together they are easily at the top of my list and far more consistent than any other pair #that I follow. but that seems to be where this whole thing is heading.#as for the other shows…I’m very meh. I won’t be able to watch Boun’s because I can’t with ForceBook 😅 I just don’t buy it at all #I had to skip them in only friends because it was just too wooden for me #Prem’s looks mildly interesting but my ADHD makes it near impossible to finish a show unless I’m watching it with people #KhaoFirst’s cat thing is….i mean I might try and watch…but I really don’t enjoy fluffy comedy romcom things #it’s just not my vibe so that’s disappointing especially since heart killers is already a heard pass for me for similar reasons #ugh I really want inspiration but looks like I’ll have to look elsewhere I suppose #I know PitBabe season too is on the horizon but I’m also skeptical of that….not against it just skeptical…..very skeptical #I want Goddess Bless You From Death but (assuming we still get that) I’m guess that won’t come out until 2026 unfortunately #none of the other GMM shows looked interesting to me though if my friend wants to watch them we can try #Maybe NetJJ will give us something next year — that I might be able to get behind #or TutorYim might get something more serious?
