It's the Year of the Rabbit

That's me!

I'm not remotely of genetics east of Scotland, but I've always loved the Zodiac animals. I'm the only rabbit in a family of rats, and since I struggled to feel like I was a unique contributor to the family, it set in as personal pride over reading placemats as a kid.

You know the ones.

There's something special about having something to yourself once every twelve years. It's such a sizable chunk of time. Birth, adolescence, college, and now, uh...Average Post-Internet Economic Struggler.

I was gonna post saying that I don't know what to do with this year, except I know all the things I want to do with this year. I just don't know how to get started. It's like I look at the thing, and think about doing the thing, and then instead of doing the thing, I don't.

I'm so sorry but what I will never forget is when 15 year old ANNABETH knew how to fly a helicopter in TLO. Not cuz she could put her hand on it and magically feel the mechanics, she just already knew how. No explanation.

Underrated moment in TLH:

When Leo just fucking KNOWS how to fly a helicopter. He like puts a hand on it and can instantly recite the make and model, knows it’s top speed and altitude and how much fuel it has left. And then he fucking flies it. He’s 15, untrained, and unlicensed, and he’s flying a helicopter. Has anyone talked about how Hephaestus kids are seriously OP?

We as a society should talk more about the AU where Orin and DUrge's places are reversed. She fucks up her assassination of DUrge and gets the tadpole in cruel retaliation and it's the crowning failure in a lifetime of humiliation and ALSO it is the key to finally escaping the cycle. My kicked dog baby daughter Orin. A lifetime of being denied love and acknowledgement and for the first time she gets to know people who could appreciate her, who could support her, love her. I think there are companions who could get with her macabre painting idk. I want to see her get to do her art :) I want to see her interactions with Lae'zel and Shadowheart who are also grappling with these entrapping ideologies they were raised in, I want to see her interactions with Wyll who has also been rejected by his father and can't tear himself away, I want to see her interactions with Astarion who is at a crossroads between becoming the monster that tormented him or getting out. And. Also. She's just such a perfect underdog. Think about the power to the DUrge endings but with Orin. Going back to the cult and finally having everything she ever wanted, finally getting to be special and prove herself worthy and LIVE. It's a pyrrhic victory but it's one she's clawed for herself so desperately. Faltering and losing herself completely, completing the downward spiral of decay of her life. Or finally!!! Getting!!! To escape!!! To see the evil of that lifetime of abuse for what it is!!! To know what she was made for and reject it by living anyway, by turning her back on all destinies that have ever been laid at her feet!!! I was gonna say something funny here but shes genuinely such an underrated character and it makes me very happy that she got so far in this poll . No one really talks about her or gives her her flowers which is tragic to me because she feels like arguably one of the most human characters in the series. She loves her friends shes fiercely loyal she jumps to conclusions but she always means well. Idk she means a lot to me.
