i should NOTE: for fight scenes involving lex, he will more often than not have “one hand tied behind his back”. he does NOT want to hurt anybody, as he is a KINGSGLAIVE and knows more tactics and spells than your average keyblade wielder.

the only times he will outright play “fair” (aka use more of his thinking power for fighting and let loose around someone) is when he’s fighting a master or otherwise someone of high repute and strength, that NECESSITATES him being on lock.

lex is a very powerful fighter, knowing spells like Faithra and Zero Graviza and other such high level spells. he’s not someone who goes does easy not will he face things with vanity. everyone gets an equal shot at him— he’s used to it after all.

& they say CHIVALRY IS DEAD. ─ it was almost hilarious how alexios felt so alive & free among these people who barely knew anything about him. he had expressed his guilt before; he knew that they must be cautious after everything they surely must have gone through ( careful to avoid saying that he knew how the Story played out ) but at the same time, he knew that it was a gracious act to allow someone who was so very different among your ranks, someone who was like the other side, & yet smiled as if they wanted nothing more than to BELONG.

"Aw, come on, Ven'!" he laughs with a mind full of light & a heart full of mirth, "You were going faster than you were supposed to, especially in that asteroid field! I'm not used to the gliders yet~"

he can't help but shake his head as he jumps off his temporary glider from the current masters, the magic in his cape cushioning the fall with a dramatic flourish. "But yeah, yeah... you're first, ya lil' gremlin."

Jetting about the stars on his own, don't get him wrong, but company is always better. He's done campouts with Sora and competitions with Roxas. Kairi might be the best partner to tackle a tricky world with, ever, and his dreams of one day travelling side by side with Terra and Aqua have long been fulfilled.

This is the first time he's getting to take Lex out on his own, however. Ven can't lie to himself, he's pretty excited. The trip through the Lanes Between even goes pretty smoothly! For Ventus.

Sure, they could've gone around the asteroid field, but where's the fun in that? It's all part of the adventure! They make good time either way; to the nearest world Ventus knows of that he hasn't explored yet.

As soon as they're close enough to the ground, he's jumping for it, dismissing his armor and hitting the grass with a gust of wind to help negate the impact.

"First!" HE WINS.

it felt foreign, to be treated with kindness before being treated with hatred. it felt like anything could fall apart at any given moment, and he would be able to do nothing about it — for he was caught unawares. he believes in ventus to not screw him over that way, not like that, certainly never to toy with his Heart in such a manner.

people of the Light — people with Truth and Justice on their side — they do not hurt those who merely wish to rest. ventus is one of those people who believe in the goodness of the worlds, the truth of the cosmos, the justice of a key bearer to uphold such moral codes.

he wonders how ventus would react to knowing people in his time have become callous with their powers, cruel in their ability. covetous of power & hateful of those “beneath” them. surely he would find a way to travel forth with him— travel to that point in which he no longer exists, long dead and buried beneath the earth of his home and hearth— just to prove that he could take on the world.

if only to prove that lex is not the worst person there was before.

fingertips brush against the petals of the blooms that were handed to him, and his smile is warm, though a touch sorrowful. he doesn’t remember the last time he had held to his hope. not when it had forsaken him time and time again. not when such hope, such a fantastic thing as it is, has led to him make countless errs, countless deaths upon his hands.

he has to fight back tears at the true meaning of the words unspoken, and he smiles brightly at ventus. “Haha, you sure do know how to make a guy feel special, huh?”

he won’t break so easily. he can’t.

ANTHURIUM: craving your hospitality; wishing you happiness and abundance.

he has to bring himself to pause in his momentary break from training, blinking quickly at the confirmation & yet denial of something he understood well. there was a familiar crackle of energy. magic in the air where someone was and then wasn’t anymore. he can’t help but look around for the source, a familiar hum in the ringing of his ears that soon ebbed away like a receding tide upon the shores of the cosmos. he can’t help but shake his head at not seeing anyone— he knows who was there, even if he can’t see the face.

but then he sees the bundle of flowers at his side on the ground before him, a sight of which brings him another hesitant pause.

his hands are muddled by blood and callous touch, marred by the echoes of war and trial by fire, burned by the mutterings of man and the malice of monsters. his hands are cut and worn, an echo by haunting of an old self that refuses to die & a belief in a time that no longer exists and by all accounts likely never will again. his hands, oh his hands. they are made to kill, you know. his hands — trained to grip the handle of a sword and wrists indented with the straps of a shield secured around them — are built for war and made to take lives.

but in this moment, his hands are gentle in their touch, soft in their placement upon the bundle of stems that are neatly placed on top of each other. red petals of a flower his mind tells him the meaning of in quiet passing, as if read to him in a lullaby or a gentle song. he brings them closer to his chest, heaving at first with labored breathing from training that had gotten out of hand, inhaling the scent of the flowers in his grasp until his breaths even out over time.

he can only smile. even though he wants to sob in relief, he can only smile. ( maybe one day he can believe he is worthy of such kind words. )

disney verse for lex where it’s a long lost tv series that people used to obsess over because the nature of the interactions between “king arthur” and his bodyguard, simply called “lex” by the king but called “captain” by fucking EVERYBODY else.

disney verse where they don’t elaborate when or how lex and arthur met, only saying once in passing that they’ve never been seen apart, and the older fans went “o? scandalous.” while newer fans that have found the show obsess over the “obvious homoerotic scenes that are RIGHT. THERE.”

disney verse where the show was called “the life of king arthur” and pretty much all of it is slice of life for half the first season until someone kidnaps lex because “oh, the king wi surely just replace the captain of the guard, and we can ransom this one’s family for money”. wrong. king arthur claps back with a hella fire cinematic preachy moment and then gets they ass. same scene, hes fussing over an injured lex, who is ambiguously dazed but smiling warmly at his king.

disney verse in which it’s stated in passing that “captain lex” has more jurisdiction in the court than the royal advisor, that “captain lex” has more say in the royal war room than your average captain when king arthur is around, that “captain lex” is the ‘reason’ that king arthur “believes in true justice”.

disney verse where its just as overtly gay and tensely homo but the same level of devotion and rawness and open heart scenes as the original games but the directors and animators INSIST that king arthur is married despite never seeing his wife or mentioning her.

some fun facts about lex that are actually rather cute (if implying some sadness);

lex ADORES soul crushing hugs from people. he’s gotten too make one sided or fake hugs from people and it feels nice to be missed so badly that people refuse to let go.

he also loves, when cuddling someone, they run their fingers through his hair, to calm him down for sleep. it makes him feel normal, as he’s heard that normal somebodies enjoy when they’re laying with someone like that.

he enjoys hot chocolate in the summer but hates ice cream in the winter. hate hate hates it.

he’s a TOTAL mommas boy. vivian adores this little kid and she obviously does spare the mutual love for him.
