The Amazing Digital Circus: Guardian AU
My TADC AU is now up and running! I will be making a poster, character cards, general art, and possibly comics based around the storyline. Here’s the information!:
Description:
Caine is the ringmaster and ruler of The Amazing Digital Circus, but there are some things that even he can’t control. NPCs go rogue all the time, often acting out and trying to genuinely hurt the circus members as they go on adventures. Because of this, Caine has always appointed two circus members he deems the most worthy to protect him and others from danger. They have been different over the years (mainly due to abstractions), but currently Jax and Ragatha are his Guardians. The two of them are more privileged than the regular circus members: they are allowed to wield weapons, swear, indulge in vices, and the like as long as they do so in private, do their jobs well, and don’t disrupt the "family-friendly" atmosphere of the circus. Caine trusts them…or so he says. And to make matters worse, it looks like NPCs are forming an uprising to overthrow Caine, led by none other than a revived Gummigoo! Travel through the colorful world of TADC, but covered in a grimy layer of violence, corruption, and deception.
Who will the story focus on:
Caine
Abel
Pomni
Jax
Ragatha
Kinger and Queenie
Princess Loo, Gummigoo, and other/more NPCs as the canon Digital Circus web series progresses
Genre:
Religious and psychological horror
Comedy
Action
Philosophical(?)
Content Warning - Anything produced for this AU may have any of the following elements:
Religious themes
Implied/referenced torture
Blood (No gore, but this may change in the future)
Mental health issues
War themes
Gambling
Alcohol and Drugs
Foul Language
This AU is recommended for ages 16+. The creator of this blog is 18.
…Wait, there’s more?!
FAQ:
Can I make fanart?
Yes, fanart is encouraged and always appreciated! Just make sure to credit me as the creator when needed. Do not use my creations if you are hateful/racist/sexist/anti-LGBTQ or just problematic in any other way. I don’t want what I make to be associated with these things. As for NSFW stuff…I would prefer if you didn’t. (Okay, well…now that I think about it, sure, go ahead, go crazy. But please don’t send it to me, I don’t really wanna see it. And tag it appropriately! Be mindful of others!) Ocs are allowed!! Ships (Canon x Canon, Canon x OC, OC x OC, whatever) are allowed! Tag me in anything as long as it’s SFW. Seriously, do whatever you want!
What are the religious themes?
Christianity. I am a Christian myself, but I also really enjoy religious horror and researching different religions. Does Pomni represent Jesus in this story? Not really. But, I will be using themes/images of Christianity (like angels, for example) to enhance the horror. I also like studying Japanese and Chinese mythological figures, purely out of interest. I will never try to push my beliefs onto the audience in any way. People can believe in whatever they want!
Are there any ships?
Bunnydoll (Jax x Ragatha) is the main ship. It is mostly implied/referenced and nothing overly romantic happens. The story focuses on their emotional bond since they are both Caine’s guardians. If you don’t like the ship, please don’t be rude to people who do. And if you do like the ship, don’t be rude to people who don’t! There’s enough hate on the internet already. Just be mindful that we all like different things, and have fun!
How will the story be told?
Through comics, probably. It’s easier for me to write things in a document (as a script) and then draw, so it will take time. I will also make art on the side that may or may not have canon information or events. It depends.
What inspired you?
The 70s (lots of yellow, orange and brown colors), Skinnamarink, religious horror, vintage Las Vegas, vintage snacks, and other random stuff. I have specific inspirations for different characters. But my inspiration to even start this project is definitely @/burrotello and The Amazing Digital Fight Club AU. It’s awesome!
Can I ask questions about characters, the story, etc?
Yes, but if it’s an answer I don’t want to reveal yet…well, we’ll see what happens. Sometimes, I will make drawings where a character reacts or responds!

LOTR Cast and Horror Films Headcanons
Gandalf: Finds horror films boring, only because they’ve yet to make one that can scare him. His friends are on a never ending crusade to find a horror flick, whether it be gory, ghostly, psychological or just plain sick, that will scare him, but nothing leaves an impact. The closest any film got to succeeding was The Human Centipede, and even there he was just mildly grossed out by. He does like to watch art house, avant garde horror, preferably made in black and white, and watch them while getting high.
Aragorn: Loves a wilderness horror, or one set in extreme environments, like The Thing. He’s hard to scare, and will happily watch The Blair Witch Project the night before going on a two week camping trip. Is the one to keep reminding everyone else “it’s only fiction, it’s only fiction.”
Sam: No. Just doesn’t do them. Is the one with his eyes shut, asking “is it over yet?”. His friends mildly tease him for it, not because he’s afraid, but because he’s the first one through the door when someone’s in trouble, whatever the danger, but is too spooked to watch a scary film. Sam explains will be brave when he has to be. He doesn’t choose to be brave for fun.
Frodo: Doesn’t watch horrors all that much because he knows Sam doesn’t like them, and would rather watch something they can all enjoy. Has no particular objections to horrors in themselves, and can appreciate a well made horror, but has a dislike for Friday the 13th and Halloween, as he’s got a thing about cursed dates.
Merry & Pippin: Talk a big game, have all the memorabilia, insist on watching the goriest, grizzliest, nastiest films going. Spend the entire time with their eyes shut, and have to sleep with the lights on afterwards. Spend a bloody fortune on snacks at the cinema.
Boromir: Insists on having Merry and Pippin sit on either side of him, so he can wrap his arms around them. Is the one who annoys everyone else by pointing out all the mistakes the heroes make. His favourite horror moment is the chainsaw hand in The Evil Dead.
Legolas: Turns his nose up at “pop” horror. Insists that “elevated” horror films aren’t really horror, like, they’re “horror” but they’re not “horror horror”, and feels the need to justify his love for any horror film by talking about its sophisticated themes and motifs. Gets a lot of popcorn and cushions thrown at him.
Gimli: Likes a good slasher, especially if there are axes involved, but any sort of tool turned weapon will do. Is an unashamed horror fan and is the first to knock Legolas off his “elevated” horror high horse. Makes his own horror prop replicas, and is big into cosplay.
Faramir: Not the biggest fan of the films himself. They don’t scare him to the same extent they do Sam, but he doesn’t find them pleasant to watch. He’s into old black and white romances, biographical movies, adaptations of classic novels (though he will spend the entire time picking out the inaccuracies) and yes, the odd musical. However, he does have a soft spot for films with badass final girls. Will sit through all night slasher gore fests to make Eowyn happy.
Eowyn: Loves them. Loves them, loves them, loves them. Has always loved them and always will. Was the one to watch way too mature horrors behind Theoden’s back as a little girl. If Eomer had a sleepover she’d watch through a crack in his bedroom door, and if there was something showing at the cinema she’d get in by buying tickets to a kid’s film. Sometimes had to get into Theodred’s bed if a film gave her nightmares, but never admitted it was because she was scared. (Theodred knew, but he’d play along.)
As an adult, like Merry and Pippin, she talks a big game. Unlike Merry and Pippin, she lives up to it. The gorier, the better. She watches the final girls at the climax, drenched in blood and screaming, going at their tormentors with a kitchen knife, and thinks “God I wish that was me”. One anniversary, Faramir surprised her by coming to bed in the Jason mask and nothing else.
That said, the more psychological horrors, horrors in domestic settings or focussing on mental health and dysfunctional families (like Hereditary and Smile) really get to her, and she will only watch them with Faramir next to her, and has to watch something funny afterwards as a palate cleanser.
Eomer: Can’t be arsed with “elevated” horror, calls it slow, pretentious bullshit. Thinks a horror is a copout if there isn’t an explosion of blood and guts in the first five minutes. Gets into constant arguments with Legolas over this, to the point they can go weeks refusing to be in the same room as each other. As a kid was stricter than Theoden about keeping Eowyn from watching scary films, was a bit out out when he found out that Eowyn had a stronger stomach for gore than he did.
Arwen: Isn’t fazed in the slightest. Can watch that scene in The Human Centipede without blinking, then get herself a bowl of chocolate pudding and ask if anyone else wants some.

Obsessive Yandere-like Behavior
Manipulation
Memory and Mind control
Kidnapping
Eyestrain (Mono's preference for highlighter pink isn't easy on the eyes)

While Val and Mono look harmless, the real horror is in their actions. Both can become incredibly violent under certain measures. To ensure these measures aren't overstepped, please inform me if you would like to stir up trouble before interacting. (i do love me a good trouble maker when planned :3)
Also keep in note that NSFW isn't welcome, but Val enjoys flirts and flirting with others.
SETTING THE SCENE:
This blog is written from the perspective of YOU, the new owner of a bright pink DS. A cartridge of Pokémon HeartGold is jammed inside, and no matter what you do, the game will not close. Every time stamp on the device and in the game is completely broken, you have no idea how long the game has actually been playing for.
Val and Mono talk to you directly, in fact they are the only two you can talk too, trying to move Val's sprite to talk to npcs will only lead to more dialog from him, never from the npcs, who are all frozen.
FOR OTHER BLOGS AND MUSES: You are still capable of interacting, if you cannot leave your game, Mono can transmit Val to you, as they are just data Afterall...But be warned, Mono is a virus, and doesn't let Val go anywhere without him, they will most likely start infecting your game if you piss them off while they're there.

TOS book review McCoy edition – Dreams of the Raven
I joked that one day I’d write a book review based on specific McCoy questions… A McCoy meter if you will. Well, I decided to do it! Not to be taken too seriously except that my love for McCoy (and his suffering) is no joke. Contains some spoilers for the book.
Title: Dreams of the Raven Author: Carmen Carter. Year published: 1987
To summarize the book in two sentences:
McCoy loses his memory in the middle of a mission and thinks he’s in his early twenties again. This is fun for exactly no one.
Official plot summary:
A merchant ship’s frantic SOS sends the Enterprise speeding to the rescue! But the starship’s mission of mercy soon becomes a desperate struggle for survival against a nightmarish enemy Captain Kirk can neither identify nor understand, an enemy he must defeat without the aid of one of his most trusted officers. For the Leonard McCoy Kirk knew is gone. In his place stands a stranger – a man with no memory of his Starfleet career, his family, his friend or the one thing James T. Kirk needs most of all… his dreams.
This book is for you if you:
would love to study McCoy under a microscope
enjoy exciting mystery plots
have a strong stomach (trigger warning for gore/body horror/autopsy scenes)
The ultimate McCoy questionnaire (below the read-more):
Is McCoy in it? McCoy is the main character and the main problem and somehow also the solution.
Is McCoy in it a lot? So much. But it’s mostly the amnesiac McCoy that no one likes mean. Somehow the “young” McCoy gets it in his head that the “old” McCoy should die for his crimes (that is, being human enough to have made mistakes throughout life) and it’s up to the young McCoy to quit Starfleet and start his life over. I’d say half the book revolves around this plot (to my great amusement).
Does he get to be concerned over whatever angst has befallen Kirk lately? It’s the opposite around – Kirk gets to worry himself sick over McCoy :3 The young McCoy doesn’t even remember who Kirk is. Kirk is extremely upset by this (yay!) and really wants his bestie back. Quote from Kirk (barely controlled rage): “It’s your duty as a doctor, as my ship’s surgeon… […] Somewhere inside of you is a man who would stop at nothing to save a friend’s life, to save any life, no matter what the personal cost. It was that quality that made him the best medical officer in Star Fleet. If you don’t have that same passion for the value of life, you’ll never be half the doctor he was. Or half the man.”
Does he get to have silly little arguments with Spock? Yes, of course, Spock can’t resist him. They were literally arguing when McCoy got knocked over and lost his memories. After that everyone is sad and depressed because young McCoy refuses to argue with Spock.
Is he the damsel in distress? Well, he’s in a lot of distress, that’s for sure. But he gets some action scenes at the end… More like he’s treating himself like a damsel in distress to the detriment of everyone around him. At least we can assume that Spock carried a bleeding McCoy through the ship to Sickbay, since Spock was with him when he hit his head and Kirk reminisces later over Spock being covered in blood… And everyone is very worried about him.
Does he suffer, preferably a lot? Physical and/or psychological torment He suffers a lot initially… Then he makes everyone else suffer for a change. Why would you do this, McCoy? Just hurt everyone you love? I just wish he’d remembered it afterwards so he could suffer from guilt, too. That would have been delicious. The book starts off with shore leave being cancelled, and then a lot of the crew get hurt and several die. McCoy comes out of hours upon hours of surgery with trembling hands and a lot of angst. He does fun things like staring at pictures of dead aliens, reading an e-mail from his ex-wife and getting drunk before dropping into bed. Then, of course, after too little sleep he knocks his head so hard he loses his memories and wakes up in Sickbay (and he truly is the worst patient ever). The young McCoy is tormented by not remembering half of medical school, hearing about all the terrible mistakes the old McCoy has done throughout life, and seeing wrinkles on his face in the mirror. Also he’s pretty useless as an officer and can’t remember having ever done surgery on a living being before. Quote from young McCoy: “Since when does Star Fleet hire doctors with an instinct for self-annihilation? No wonder I became chief medical officer. Promotion due to a high rate of casualties.” <-Words from a man whose colleagues knew he’d volunteer to beam into a dangerous situation. If only he knew how much danger he’d volunteered for in the twenty-five years he’s forgotten…
Does he get to whine and complain and be right about it? Even better is he wrong about it? He whines A LOT and he is extremely WRONG about it. It’s a miracle no one grabs him by the collar and shakes him around.
Does he get to throw some of that southern charm around? Yeah, on the wrong person. Terrible. And extremely fascinating. The young doctor in charge of getting his memories back is no match for young McCoy’s advances, and honestly, who can blame her? Who needs workplace professionalism when you can get your heart broken by sleeping with your boss while his memories are gone. And poor Spock catches them kissing… I’m pretty sure this is why no one tells McCoy what happened afterwards when his memories return. Too awkward.
Does he get to do some medical malpractice? Yes, actually, if you count incapacitating aliens as medical malpractice. But mainly he gets to forget everything he ever learned and get it back just in time to take over from the sucky doctor no one likes to save the day. Heroic. (But why is the second most senior doctor on the ship an asshole no one likes? They should have put Chapel in charge or something… I mean obviously it’s because then everyone gets to commiserate over how McCoy is a much better CMO and boss, but still. I have questions.)
Does Spock call him illogical or similar? Spock COMPLIMENTS him. What is the world coming to? Better yet – young McCoy calls Spock “sir” and is super polite to him and Spock hates it. And Spock gets the dubious honor of training an amnesiac McCoy for landing party duty. Literally just drills McCoy on protocol for hours so he won’t die. Quote from young McCoy: “Diana must have been pulling my leg about fighting with Spock. I’d rather wrassle a Bengal tiger than cross that man.”
Is he forcibly put through his arch nemesis the transporter? Or the dress uniform? Quote from young McCoy: “You put human beings in that unholy device?”
Does Kirk call him handsome (joke or not this happens more than you'd think)? Not really :/
Bonus points if his accent is pronounced and his speech is full of befuddling southern expressions which make Spock question McCoy's sanity (and me wondering if I need a dictionary) I think they could have had more fun with young McCoy having an accent. But the book does get bonus points for young McCoy’s last memory being that he was thrown off a horse at a ranch (apparently a great way to relax from medical school is riding half-wild young horses? And this from a man who is afraid of transporters…) and therefore gets to have a I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore… kind of moment.
Criticisms/things I’d change:
Much like in The search for Spock, there’s a serious lack of McCoy/Spock closure at the end of the book. Also, I’d remove the weird romance young McCoy has with the other doctor on the Enterprise that he conveniently forgets about when his memories return. Plus, even though the title literally includes the word dreams there are barely any dreams in the book. They could have spent a little bit more time showing him sweating and moaning from nightmares… alas we were robbed.
Highlights:
The reason McCoy’s memories return (not gonna spoil it). The way Spock and Jim obviously miss him a lot. The mission plot which is really interesting. A very good, slightly insane book! Definitely a recommended read!
Final McCoy meter: 9/10 would read again
#tos novel#dreams of the raven#star trek tos book review#i really liked this book tbh it was hard to put down and stop reading#leonard mccoy#i might do more of these...

To anyone who is interested, here is my thoughts on Nosferatu (2024). In briefest sum: it's not my thing. I didn't really like it by large.
To be a little longer, but still remain mostly spoiler-free: There are several elements running throughout the movie. There's stuff taken directly from the original Nosferatu, there's stuff added in from Dracula, and there's also some elements that appear to me to be informed by other adaptations or reputation, as well as more modern tastes in the way horror movies operate. It is definitely still a horror, and for people who like this style of horror, I think a lot of them would enjoy it. Personally, I'm not super into gore or sexual horror scenes. There are definitely several of both. In general I like more subtle psychological horror, and in a lot of ways I think this movie is pretty in-your-face about what it does. That is a personal preference for me, though, and definitely not universal.
Also, while I find the combination of elements interesting, in several places I personally feel like it weakens characterization or at least my interest in the characters. That said, some character things that fans of Dracula like would probably include: Orlock is definitely still evil/hated by all. Thomas and Ellen (the Harker figures) are in love, and both protagonists we're meant to root for. There are also a lot of added scenes that call back to various events in the book. On the other hand, there is some degree of Ellen/Orlock that is likely a major turnoff for a lot of people, and also Friedrich (the Arthur figure) is definitely not our Art. Also, many of the callback scenes involve similar events, but almost inevitably twisted in some way, either to fit the changed place in the plot, the different characters, or to feed in to horror scenes that are more gory/sexual than you'd see in either original book or movie.
Finally, more specific spoilers under the cut:
Sorry in advance but this is more of a ramble than any specific progression throughout the plot.
I think that the story wanted to have its cake and eat it too a little bit in regards to the original book, the original film, and to pop-culture derived interpretations of Dracula themes and characters. I also think there was a degree of playing in to more typical modern horror expectations. Some of my thoughts on this are pretty suppositional because I don't actually like watching horror movies much and also haven't seen any film adaptations of Dracula (aside from the original Nosferatu and now this one). So feel free to disregard me if I'm wrong on any of those points. But I feel like there are several scenes that either alter events or add in gratuitous nudity or violence just because that's expected.
Like, for example, when Thomas arrives in the town near the castle. There's a whole odd scene where a bunch of people are dancing around and then kind of mocking him before he gets into the inn. Once there, we have a scene more like in the original movie (OM from here on out) where there's horrified reaction to him saying he's going to the castle, and also similar to the original book (OB) where he is given a crucifix. Then we have a scene that seems like a "queer dreams" reference (but when he wakes his shoes are muddy showing it really happened) where he follows a bunch of locals leading a naked virgin on a horse to a grace where they then stake a vampire. I think this is the same group who were outside the inn mocking him, though I'm not totally sure.
The staking scene irked me more in hindsight because it seemed to be suggesting a possible alternate ending, with the virgin potentially 'distracting' the monster's attention while its body was staked. I kind of wondered near the end if this was going to happen to some extent with Ellen taking out the shadow and Orlock's spirit while the men staked his physical body. Now, that too would be off from both originals and was entirely my own theory so it not being fulfilled isn't really a knock on the movie, but... While I guess we can see the connection here, the actual way the whole "pure woman offers herself to the vampire to kill it" plays out later has nothing really to do with this scene. So it still feels kind of like there was no point having her there, since all she did was ride naked on a horse, and so it felt more contrived to show a boob than really relevant to me. The people also are weird because of this. Are they in Orlock's employ and scornful of Thomas? Are they opposed to vampires and want to protect him? There's a weird mix, only increased when everyone is gone when he awakes (including the innkeepers) and have stolen his horse. I didn't feel like their behavior made sense.
OrlocI did like several of the trippy bits about Thomas' journey to the castle (though the empty carriage reminded me more of Curse of Strahd, haha), and some of the parts of him being there. The scenes where he is eating with Orlock and where he's being pressured into signing a contract he can't read are pretty good moments of him having to try and keep calm and polite while freaking out hugely internally, though it's all much more condensed and quick to become blatant attacks on him than the OB. But that itself is more similar to the OM. The scene when Orlock makes him say "my lord" instead of "sir" is pretty funny. I also quite liked the way Orlock turned his excuse to leave ("I've been having horrible dreams since getting here, I think I'm ill") against him into a reason he must stay ("It's not good to travel when you're sick, you must stay here until you get better"). From the book, we get scenes like Thomas asking about local traditions and being shut down, running frantically about after learning he's trapped, being threatened by wolves, and escaping out the window. But the way it happens is typically very different, with Orlock just having some wolves in his crypt apparently. Thomas going in there and opening up the coffin to see him isn't really led up to in any way, other than him running around searching for an exit. We do get an attempted shoveling, except it's not a shovel but a pickaxe, there's no apparent reason for it to be sitting there, and Orlock (who apparently sleeps totally naked) physically repels the blow and then chases after him/shadows him and then drinks him while also humping him. He wakes up in his bed afterwards, and escapes out the window while fleeing wolves that have been sent to attack him after Orlock (presumably) leaves. Then he falls into the river.
I think in general his character is closest to the equivalent OB character. He loves his wife intensely, and is determined to return to her and to protect her/kill the vampire who harmed her. There are still some really unfortunate moments where he tells her to ignore her creepy dreams and basically be normal (as well as disregarding her warnings not to leave, though that at least I seem to remember happening in the OM), and he's the one to say of course she'll be left behind when hunting vampires. But he never seems to think about leaving her, and definitely loves her a lot throughout. I also like him getting a limp after his escape from the castle, showing some lingering physical effect. Though he also apparently has bite marks since he shows them to people later on.
Von Franz is shown to be more lost in his 'crazy' theories than Van Helsing. He also is too willing to sacrifice others, and kind of has a crazy monologue while setting a bunch of stuff on fire which feels super out of character. But he plays a smaller part and I liked both him not being shown as a super vampire hunter (the one scene when Friedrich asks him how to kill the demon he's talking about and he's just like "I dunno, I've never actually seen one of these before" was funny) and him having respect for Ellen. He insists she not be tied up and empathizes with her psychic nature being preyed upon, being clear that the results are not her fault. Dr. Siever plays a really small role, and Knock (the Hawkins/Renfield medley) is just as comically evil as he is in the OM. He does get naked in a pentagram and gnaw on animals/people onscreen, but doesn't have a huge role. I had fun laughing at Orlock carrying his own coffin in the original but sadly no luck in that regard thanks to Knock escaping to help him.
Friedrich irks me the most because he's got a larger role and it's so different from Arthur. While Emma (Lucy) doesn't do too much, she's at least still a good friend to Ellen. He clearly doesn't like her from the start and just kind of puts up with her weirdness because of other people. He's a loving husband and father and that's where the most sympathy for him comes in, but also skeptic who hates the influence on his life that Ellen brings and has a hard time believing Von Franz about supernatural causes. While Siever apparently suggested it in the first place, he still is the one who approves tying Ellen up, and he's a jerk to her about her not being normal and not doing what he tells her. Not to mention kicking the Hutters out in the middle of a plague! As well as trying to flee when his wife is already suffering from the plague. He does traumatically lose his whole family, and he gets the shadow keeping him asleep while his children were killed, which originally happened to Jonathan while Mina was attacked. The scene of the nosferatu carelessly dropping a dead child reminded me of vampire!Lucy tossing aside a child in the graveyard. And in fact, having Emma be the only one awake rushing about to try and save her family and having to face the vampire alone is sort of similar to the night of Lucy's memorandum if you squint. I absolutely hated Friedrich's ending - he's visibly caught the plague and wanders off to the graveyard where he then has sex with his dead (not undead, just dead) wife and then dies doing so? Euch. If they just left out the necrophilia then it would feel much more coherent to his character, just kind of selfish and very intentionally 'normal' but still deeply loving his family and losing it after their loss. But that just seemed kind of thrown in there to add to the erotic horror to me, and since I don't like it, well. I didn't like it.
Ellen, now... it's hard to talk about her character in this without also talking about Orlock. But let me start with just her and then get to that after. They lean way in on the psychic Ellen from the OM, which I initially quite liked. She also seems to deeply love Thomas, though there are some later scenes that add a weird dynamic there. One being she only became 'normal' when she met him, and so he seems kind of like an escape from her psychic dreads. I initially really liked her connection to him when he was on his trip. She gave him a token of her hair in a locket, which she cut while staring psychically out into the night, and it seemed like it was linking her to him. Then, when Orlock took the locket, the connection seemed to contribute with her sometimes overlapping with Orlock in a way I initially thought was kind of cool. I really liked the way the actress did her own version of the clawed hands and the Orlock walk/silhouette, she embodied that really well.
The sexualized trances/dreams and seizures were definitely not to my taste thought, and the whole more Exorcist-style scenes where she seemed almost outright possessed didn't really make full sense to me most of the time. I really disliked what the story behind them and her connection to Orlock ended up being. Apparently she psychically reached out to something dark in her lonely youth and ended up waking him/making some sort of marriage pact with him? This is what aroused his interest in her all along and seemed to drive many of his actions. And while we do see that she hates him consciously, and outright rejects and insults him to his face in one scene, there's all this stuff where she seems very drawn to him despite that. I really hated the Hutton sex scene. It was bound up in an argument between them during which she seemed to at least partially believe Orlock's words about Thomas selling her (this was apparently the contract he couldn't read but signed because Orlock was menacing him) for a bag of gold. She also throws in his face that he's never satisfied her like her dream lover (the nosferatu). She seems to be getting partially possessed or something throughout this fight. She takes on the nosferatu posture and uses a different voice, but it's not made clear how much of this is some influence against her or her own inner darkness or her actual thoughts. Thomas looks scared of/for her and also freaked out by how crazy she seems, and then she crawls up to him begging for no doctor and then they have aggressive sex while she commands him to kiss her heart. That in particular makes it seem like she's trying to emulate her dream sex with the nosferatu, since he's always shown to bit the chest/over the heart. So that left a bit of a nasty taste in my mouth.
Again, we do see that she loves Thomas and wants to save him. But the eroticization of the vampire feeding (once again, they are clearly having sex while he drinks her blood. The only reason I wasn't a hundred percent sure this happened with Thomas is because he at least was wearing clothes thought Orlock was naked at the time) combined with the visual horror of making Orlock look so open-wound and corpsey combined to have a really weird feel of just wanting to show a woman having sex with a horrible monster. The sexual horror thing... but she agreed to it, yes as a plan to kill Orlock, but what with the dreams thing and her making sex noises and whatnot it kind of seems like she's enjoying it too. Then when they find her body there's this kind of weird detail where she has a hand holding Orlock to her chest (she drew him back down and asked him to drink more blood when he started to notice the onset of dawn) and Thomas takes her other hand, and it feels symbolic somehow. Her lover being death and her husband reaching out for her but her clinging death closer... I dunno. The whole sex and dream connection/prolonged haunting aspect made it seem a lot less resigned sacrifice than it did in the OM, and definitely way more of her being drawn to him in return than in the OB.
Orlock himself was a pretty nice mix of Dracula and OM Count for most of it I think. I liked when he called himself nothing but hunger, it feels like it leaned in more to his OM counterpart. Using Thomas's fate against her (and before that, the Hardings) was very much something OB Dracula would do too. But his whole past with Ellen and consequent fixation on her kind of took over everything he did. And since I didn't like that element... I did love the shadow stuff, and enjoyed when he did the classic nosferatu walk with the hands reaching out, though it wasn't as often. His design was definitely creepy as well.
I liked the plague elements. I also liked the shadow of the vampire, and kind of wish there had been more emphasis put on that. I feel like in the OM, more horror was shown in his movements and his physicality partially just due to the medium. But it was also really iconic, especially the shadow, and I liked the instances when it was used to reflect his influence.
Not a fan of all the thrashing about (sexually and also just seizing/shaking) and drooling/vomiting/blood spilling from mouths. But those are more personal preference and again feel like more modern horror staples to various degrees. My biggest grief is the Orlock/Ellen stuff and how that infects other things around it.
BUT... if you like this sort of story, as I imagine many do, and if you are able to see it as its own thing enough not to get upset with the divergences (for example Orlock/Ellen, or Friedrich vs. Arthur) then I think a lot of people would enjoy this movie.
#nosferatu 2024#nosferatu critical#not totally negative but as i say not my thing and i give reasons why#so if you loved it probably you'd prefer to skip this post

🎃 ROTTMNT Halloween Headcanons 🎃
Horror Movies
Summary: The Hamato siblings & horror movies
Headcanons for: Raph, Donnie, Leo, Mikey, & April
Halloween Headcanons - Haunted House Edition
Halloween Headcanons - Haunted House (x Reader ver.)
i added a few horror movie references here and there (betcha can't name 'em all!)
Raph:
Favorite genre: Zombie horror
Least favorite genre: Gore/Torture
isn't too fond of horror movies; would rather watch action movies
he's convinced that 'based on a true story' movies are 100% real
easily jumpscared but tries to laugh it off every time
leo will tease him about his fear stink tho
believes twilight technically counts as horror
"it's a movie about vampires and high school! how'zat not scary?"
might watch horror movies alone if he's surrounded by plushies and his blanket
won't sleep all night tho
leaves the light on after a horror marathon "just in case"
Donnie:
Favorite genre: Psychological when done right; Time-loop horror
Least favorite genre: Found footage
isn't too bothered by horror movies
but plot holes will frustrate him to no end
and he WILL make his brothers listen to him rant about it afterwards
"SCOFF! he was OBVIOUSLY a ghost, literally no one else noticed him or talked to him!"
prefers j-horror (subbed even tho he understands japanese)
he doesn't have a favorite movie but he does like the japanese film 'horrors of malformed men' (江戸川乱歩全集恐怖奇人間)
considers found footage horror movies inferior and 'lazy'
spends most of the movie criticizing the characters and making fun of the villain
was terrified of pennywise as a kid (dvd rental mix-up that went unnoticed by papa splinter)
for the longest time, he thought pennywise lived in their sewers
Leo:
Favorite genre: Slasher movies; Parody horror
Least favorite genre: Classic
he loves horror movies and binges them for halloween
joins in on donnie's commentary, which mildly annoys mikey and raph
most of leo's commentary is just making fun of his brothers
"oh hey, don bon! i had no idea you were on tv... congrats on the blob monster role~!"
finds silent horror movies to be incredibly booooring
enjoys campy 80s horror (evil dead 2, gremlins, creepshow, ect)
unironically considers killer klowns from outer space a masterpiece
is banned from picking movies bc of this
might get spooked from time to time
not that he'll admit it
nothing can shake this ninja warrior, nuh uh no way
Mikey:
Favorite genre: Paranormal/Ghost movies
Least favorite genre: Psychological
considers himself a "horror expert" and owns all the classics
likes to play "who would survive this plot" with his brothers during the movie
according to him, leo's usually the most likely to die first
has a plan for every possible zombie apocalypse scenario (that he totally didn't get from a bunch of zombie movies)
"i'm not saying that he *should*, but donnie could totally build a giant prison maze for ghosts. it'll be just like the movie!"
will occasionally watch scary movies alone in the dark
overestimates his fearlessness every time-
loves a good ghost movie but he's a bit of a scaredy cat
might need a few cutesy romance movies afterwards to feel better
April:
Favorite genre: Found footage
Least favorite genre: Slasher/Killer horror
loves a good horror movie binge and will jump on any chance to watch them with her brothers
always ready with halloween themed snacks and candies
is also a self-proclaimed "horror expert"
she knows a lot more than mikey tho
can tell you about the directors, the history of horror movies, and the stories the movies are based on with complete detail
"movie night at my place? i've got just the thing to scare y'all out of your shells~"
rec is probably one of her top 5 favorite movies
likes the idea of creating her own found footage horror movie
mikey, leo, and splinter are all on board to be in her movie
donnie and raph? not so much

I have an absurd HC about certain games I feel like with a passion Caesar Clown would love if he ever got to even put his hands on the games either for the concept it centers on like DEATH Or for more in depth reasons from genre to scenery, and sci-fi elements that would intrigue a man like Caesar.
I can see him loving the following games listed and why:
Franbow,
More for its psychological horror in narrative and artistic choice that I see Caesar taking the enjoyment. Along it makes you think, and put together items and figure puzzle-like tasks to get through levels/segments of the story that is very narrative driven that would keep him very deep to play it fully. In more detail knowing being someone who played the game myself plenty of times before. The timeline Franbow takes place is in the 1940s. Which depicts the very depressing reality of mental illness and the lifestyle of how children grew up in them. Along how it goes through this canon of *The Five Realms of Essential Existence*. He'd eat that shit up. Also because of the gore, lots of death. Like seriously the very fucking opening slaps you right off the bat with its jump into the narrative. I see him also enjoying Miss Unfortunate, the same developers of Franbow too for its more dark witty humor and twist in the story he'd find it amusing for a one shot experience. I see him enjoying Franbow more though as mentioned reasoning.
Fallout 1, 2, 3 tactics, bhos, NV,
I'm pushing for NV, but it stays because it has a lot of DLC I definitely would see him enjoying. But anything like 4 and 76, or the mobile Fallout game are out of his interest for being more adventurous and the atmosphere that the older games had, being more dreadful with fallout's usual depicted storyline and emotional given storyline of humanity barely surviving the remains of a once thriving society that plummeted into war is what would not have him into those games unlike the ones mentioned instead. Also because Caesar wouldn't really take mobile games like the Fallout Shelter because it's more tediously *grinding* and waiting and he would be preferably doing something more gruesome with its entertainment. Fallout as a franchise provides a lot of ideas that Caesar himself has done somewhat or most definitely.... Or would open new thoughts and ironically a sense of even inspiration because I do take this idea that he'd enjoy things like the Vault lore and the whole pre-war segment canon. And as much as I don't see him into Politics the politics in fallout are always something that I take interesting because of how it went with it and the end of the world feel and war driven mongering American purist themes it has. He'd definitely perhaps be the kind to max out his character in charisma and be a speech build guy who'd take in ED-E as his companion as one for also the quests that follow with "ED-E my Beloved" With Veronica to continue any BHOS quests (maybe). Despite her annoyance at first for my own use of Veronica. She is a tank, and I see Caesar using companions like a pussy he is too- though funny enough. Caesar would be too annoyed with Cassidy for her whole BS reputation triggered opinion for you as the player. He'd get that fucking BLOODY MESS perk as soon as he ever sees and can achieve it just for the endless nonstop every kill animation one can get to feel the immense pleasurable enjoyment of killing literally everything in sight like it's the forth of July with how literally 99.9% of all kills result in an explosion of guts. Also makes up for comedic kill times too.
Haven't played too much though of 1 and 2 (Yes. I have, but to say I did everything? No. Far from it. It's a play style I'm not used to but I did take my shot to say Caesar though would enjoy the older game click to move and see the grim feelings of what older fallout offers. Also because it's still full of its own story. Something that I am familiar with to say this myself.
The GAME Adaption of I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream,
A click and scroll game. Very old style. The voice acting, the game's forward story, being it is an adaptation based from yours truly of Harlan Ellison's book of the same name. The very simple nature but intriguing manner the game took to depict AM like for an experience for gamers. Yeah. It's a peak game. He'd take the character AM interesting, and take each storyline that the 5 humans have with a thought that lingers a good while. It would make him ponder a bit.
BioShock 1&2,
I'm not including infinite. Caesar would not be as interested in the story Infinite has, and be more so put off by it for its Multiverse twist, and the plot holes given with the DLC it brings (Burial at Sea). Yet step aside that and back to 1&2, Caesar would've loved to have been in a place like Rapture. A place where scientists and creative geniuses alike that can get away from the government, and especially away all those who try to "say" what is and isn't fine to work with for the name of scientific discovery. He'd enjoy this place. Especially because it's not just stuck for that but full of musicians and artists. There's a place down there just for Caesar to spend his days outside his work and it's Eve's Garden down at Fort Frolic. That dirty manwhore. If only he could be his personal paradise. Though he'd lovingly keep his DF and not use the Adam *unless* SPECIFICALLY he had one for something like a youth Gene-tonic addition.
Yet to play the game itself forwardly. He'd have a blast and enjoy the story that comes with it. Only daydreaming away why he can't be in a place like prime Rapture when he heard of it 😔...
.
.
.
An honorable mention would be Bloodborne. The atmosphere and themes are there but the gameplay style would make Caesar want to shoot himself in the head in anger. I had set my case after seeing a friend of mine play it and. Yeah. Def not Caesar Clown gameplay mechanic approved.
Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal would also be an honorable mention. He'd love its bloody action pack violence but not be so into the whole lore aspect of the games. He's into the visual death aspect that the game gives you.
Don't escape franchise, I think its atmosphere brings something he'd enjoy.
That's all I got today. Personally. I could make a revamp eventually. I just wanted to post something after having the flu and taking a small break.

I lile asking shit, so what horror films would you like to watch with a boy and are there any reasons why? How would you set the date up? (Snacks, set-up, cinema or at home, etc.)
Alright you got me talking about my special interest so I went on a mini rant, sorry. I highlighted all the horror movies in red for funsies
Oooh boy a horror movie date is my dream. I’d love to cuddle in bed with a movie on a laptop, but realistically speaking my bed is a twin size with only room for me and my stuffed animals and my laptop’s speakers are terrible. Realistically it would probably be in my living room. I have an air mattress I can put right in front of the tv and fill with blankets and pillows, as long as it’s not too hot downstairs and whoever I’m with isn’t allergic to dogs (I have three) it’s perfect. There’d be plenty of snacks, and usually when I have someone over for a sleepover we usually end up baking boxed mix brownies.
What movies I’d pick would depend on what the persons I’m with is comfortable watching. I love really intense horror movies like the V/H/S series, hereditary, saw, etc. (but not splatterpunk or movies that are just straight up gore porn, not my thing) but I understand those movie can be a little intense and make some people uncomfortable. I’d chose based of what I know they like. If they like psychological maybe It Comes At Night or Blair Witch (two of my favorites), if they like classic maybe Carrie, Scream, Halloween, or The Shining. If they’d prefer underrated ones then I love The House October Built, Hell House, or Host. I also generally like scrolling through the free horror movies and pointing out which ones I know and like. I think choosing a good horror movie is very situational. A good movie to watch depends on who you’re with, the mood, how your both feeling, if you’re eating, if you plan on staying up late, etc. so all of this really depends. But really, having a horror movie date with someone is my dream that I hope comes true one day

Modern Dottolone Headcanons
Behold, a long ass list of headcanons. In case you’re wondering why like most of these are horror movie centric, I kinda fell down a weird rabbit hole of people reacting to extreme horror novels. There are. There are some books out there. No actual content warnings though except like mentions of gory gross movies like Human Centipede, and a couple swears here and there.
The two have a shared interest in horror, however their tastes are on completely opposite ends of the spectrum. Pantalone is more interested in psychological horror/thrillers, stories that centre around the human mind and inner toil, making you question what is real and what is right. Dottore likes body horror and gore, basically anything that will fuck up the human body.
The two usually compromise on slasher films but they take turns watching each other’s preferred films.
Oh and Rocky Horror Picture Show. You’ll catch them at their respective jobs humming along to Time Warp or Sweet Transvestite.
Pantalone had a little home theatre room built for movie nights but is fine watching them in say the living room or the bedroom. Dottore will only watch his gory movies on the big screen to gross Pantalone out.
Dottore has been trying to get Pantalone to watch more of the Saw movies, but Pantalone won’t watch anything other than the first movie because it’s all just violence for the sake of violence with no deeper meaning. He likes the discussion around the first film of how far would you be willing to go in order to save your own life, or even the lives of others? Dottore just wants to see a guy cut his leg off on the big screen. Half of the entertainment comes from Pantalone cringing.
Human Centipede was banned from movie night the moment it was suggested. Pantalone doesn’t know or care if Dottore was joking, he’s not entertaining the thought of watching people get sewn ass to mouth in any capacity.
Pantalone has been trying to find a psychological horror film that will get under Dottore’s skin ever since they started doing movie nights, because Dottore just has an entire fuckin archive of gory horror movies that get grosser and bloodier each time. He’s yet to find anything, but Dottore encourages him.
The two usually have another more lighthearted movie planned for after the horror marathon to lighten the mood. Dottore doesn’t need it, you give that man a soft surface and he’s good. Pantalone needs something nice before bed, though he’d never admit it except for after Dottore’s movie nights. It’s not like anyone is gonna disagree that you won’t need eye bleach after all of that.
Dottore sleeps like he has rigor mortis. He’ll get into bed and whatever position he happens to be in is how he’s going to sleep for the rest of the night. Most of the time it’s very inconvenient for touch starved Pantalone unless he wants to be big spoon. Even then he has to kinda maneuver both their bodies into a more comfortable position.
You can also tell who sleeps on which side of the bed. Pantalone has more pillows on his side, as well as extra blankets because he constantly hogs their shared blanket.
Surprisingly, Dottore is the nicest of the two when it comes to waking the other person up. Gentle shaking and cooing. Not to say Pantalone isn’t nice, but he’s firmer and more insistent when it comes to getting up on time.
On days off, though, whoever wakes up first will usually tuck the other person in. Pantalone moves Dottore’s body so he’s more easily covered, and Dottore will swap himself out of Pantalone’s grasp with one of his pillows.
Dottore gets the small black coffee where Pantalone has the very specific and complicated Starbucks order. Dottore has his order memorized so he can surprise Pantalone at the bank.
Dottore’s love language to me is acts of service but he’s kinda tsundere about it. He usually hides it behind the excuse of not wanting to hear Pantalone complain about a chore, or he was doing this one thing and figured he may as well do the other thing since he has time to kill. Will not admit it’s because he loves his husband, and Pantalone finds him floundering for an excuse to be really funny.
Pantalone is gift giving obviously, he loves getting Dottore strange and expensive things, most notably he buys Dottore licorice. He has no idea why Dottore enjoys it, but hey, who is Pantalone to deny him?
Actually, food is a sort of love language on its own for Pantalone. He likes sharing meals with Dottore, making old recipes with him, slipping him a little snack when no one sees them
He also really likes physical touch and quality time. Put him in a room with Dottore and he will be very happy.
Pantalone has like thirty different products he uses on just his face alone in order to maintain a perfect complexion. Dottore washes his face with regular ass tap water and he’s good. It frustrates Pantalone to no end.
Pantalone is iffy about who touches his hair, you gotta build up his trust before you can do that, but he’ll let Dottore brush/play with it whenever he wants to (within reason and with permission). Pantalone likes the intimacy, Dottore likes having something to do with his hands.
They are the absolute worst to play board/card games with in like every way. They find loopholes and abuse them, they psyche you out, we don’t talk about monopoly night, or they’re just wayyyyyy too good at the game in general. If you get roped into playing chess or monopoly with them, you should just give up.
Cards Against Humanity is a wild ride because they both have really fucked up senses of humour. You will come out of it a worse person in one way or another.
#pantalone#dottore#dottolone#pantalone headcanons#dottore headcanons#i considered doing some spicier headcanons but this shit was getting too long#plus i'd rather make that its own post#also i'm undecided on a few things#apologies for all the horror movie stuff#i just fell down a rabbit hole and now i have been burdened with awareness#i've strayed too far from my usual macabre tastes

For the ask prompt:
Introducing them to their special interests/hyperfixations
And/or
Pure genuine laughter, because these two would go really well hand in hand I think!
~harley
I only now realized that I don't think I've ever done little one-off drabbles like this before, so it was harder than expected to keep it short! Super fun exercise in little character moments tho ♡
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jack’s first mistake was mentioning he had only seen a handful of horror movies.
His second was letting Pitch sit him down for a marathon of his favorites.
They’d gone through the trouble of tracking down a local rec center, ensuring it was empty for the night before dragging out the old box TV on its cart and getting comfy on a couch that could’ve been older than the building itself. Pitch brought the movies, and Jack reluctantly brought himself.
He wasn’t a scaredy-cat, or so he’d insisted to Pitch. The few horror movies he’d seen might’ve caught him off guard with a jump scare or two, but he’d never left them scared.
Turns out he’d just been watching the wrong ones.
Really, he should’ve expected it. Why would he ever think that asking the King of Nightmares to show him some horror movies would be a breeze? A little gore, a little suspense, no big deal, right? Instead, he’d found himself halfway into a psychological hellscape of a movie and realized exactly what he’d gotten himself into.
When the credits rolled on the first film, Jack turned to Pitch with wide eyes and asked him flat-out if he’d been doused with Nightmare sand and if - pretty please - he could wake up now. Pitch just grinned evilly and stood up to put the next movie in. But then Jack made some throwaway comment about horror movies being gratuitous fear-fests, and something shifted in Pitch’s expression. Remote still in hand, he stood with his arms crossed and sternly said, “Now listen here, Frost,” before launching into a lecture about the complex and difficult art of instilling fear in an audience.
And the more Pitch talked, the more of Jack’s fear slipped away. So even after Pitch sank back onto the couch to start the movie and fear filled the air again, Jack scooted a little closer and found every opportunity to poke him with questions.
Without fail, Pitch always had an answer. He talked at length about when and where it was most effective to use violence or gore, how best to use a character’s fears against them, or the intent of a scene in creating psychological unease in both the protagonist and the audience. By the time the third film was playing, he began pointing things out unprompted, and had entirely forgotten that his initial intent was seemingly to watch Jack drown in his own fears.
Jack was utterly captivated. He’d never seen Pitch speak so passionately about anything, aside from the occasional rant about the Guardians and Manny. A scene that might’ve had Jack tucking into his sweatshirt and staying there til morning shifted from frightening to fascinating as Pitch broke down piece-by-piece how the film had foreshadowed everything without ever allowing the audience to suspect the horror to come.
Metallic eyes locked on the screen, Pitch didn’t seem to notice that Jack had been watching him instead of the movie by the time the last film was coming to an end. He was too busy rambling about the plot, rising from the couch to retrieve the disc.
“Humans are surprisingly adept at supplying inspiration for their own worst nightmares,” Pitch said, turning just so to make his irises gleam from the blue TV screen. “Though I prefer to think their inspirations are a product of my own meddling while they sleep. Don’t you?”
Jack blinked, considering the films they’d just watched and trying to imagine all their horrors coming directly from Pitch himself. It was a far easier task than he should’ve been comfortable with.
“I almost forgot for a sec there,” he said with a faint laugh, “you’re like…insane, insane. Like, cult leaders and torturers would be begging you for ideas if they could.”
Pitch raised an eyebrow, looking over Jack curiously from where he stood. “And yet you still choose to spend time with me.”
Jack shrugged, crossing his legs underneath him. “Look, I’m the fun Guardian, not the smart Guardian.”
And the laugh that escaped Pitch then made Jack light up like the moon. It was brief, but it was real. Jack could sense it, that pure sound that welled up in the tall shadow of a man and escaped him before it could be stopped. Jack reveled in it, and how rarely he heard that laugh unless it was darkened by cynicism or mischievous intent.
“Well, I appreciate you indulging me,” Pitch said after clearing his throat. He strode back to the couch, looming over Jack as the first beams of dawn began breaking through the curtain. “Though I must admit, I was hoping to taste more of your fears tonight. Shall I leave you with a Nightmare instead to remember me by?”
Jack shot to his knees, startling Pitch just enough for Jack to grip the front of his robe and successfully tug him down into a quick kiss.
“Not a chance in hell, Boogeyman,” he murmured against those scalding lips.
Before Pitch could recover, the winds where whisking Jack out the door, escaping from the shadows with a laugh.

I genuinely wish your yan kokichi was the standard im sick of gorey or physical punishment focused yan kokichi because it completely goes against the whole idea of DICE and likeee i get that he's a yan in this and all but not all yans are violent, if i search for yan kokichi i do NOT want to be called a kitten then stabbed in the thigh
A lot of yan (character) content is just insert anything and call it a day but yan content like yours? It feels like I'm actually reading a canon live version of the character if they were a yandere since you include their past, principles, nature into the writing and it's just chef's kiss🙏if you ain't got no fans I'm fighting in my grave bro
Yooo I'm so thrilled you'd say that. I get the appeal of the more violent stuff, it's really just the fact that I got into yandere content when i was an early teen, and now im in my twenties. I've seen the violent stuff a million times by now and its kinda lost its thrill. Like there was some really nonsensical gory kankri yandere stuff a loooong while back that i saw and I fucking loved it as an edgy teenager. However, when you get as much exposure as I have, you start craving other things. Like how horror movie fans get desensitized to certain tropes.
Honestly I don't even dislike gory yandere content now, I still rather like it honestly I love fucked up pregame fics because it's just fun to read what are essentially fun little horror stories. It's just not something I personally really want to play with in my own space.
I however have always been fascinated by obsession in media, whether it be over a person, or an item, or just anything. Psychology is a huge interest to me and obsession tropes tie into that nicely. So when I approach yandere content I make, I always try to play into how and why they would start showing these kinds of behaviors and how i think they would react to it. Kokichi is terrified of losing people and not having power, Shuichi is neglected and desperate, Mukuro never was really taught better, they're not just cliches they're fully fleshed out characters I enjoy exploring.
Which seems like "oh that's obvious you should do that" when I say it but its really really not, it takes a lot of practice with a trope to understand how to make the trope fit the characters instead of the characters fit the trope. If youre someone newer to writing with this trope, you're going to go "oh yanderes are all kidnap murders who have no other interests, so if i want to make fav character a yandere i need to make them a kidnap murderer with no other interests" and that's pretty normal.
Then only by doing that for a few years do you start realize that the trope can have a lot more nuance and flexibility and you can pick and choose what elements you want to use. Your first time knowingly playing with a trope will basically always be a stereotype of that trope, that's how we learn.
Honestly even if it can frustrate me at times to see yandere content so wildly out of character, it's all part of the process. Some may eventually learn to lean away from being overly gory, while others will learn to lean in to gore and violence but make it more personalized and nuanced.
Like there's a fun yandere kokichi fic of kokichi taking kiibo apart and keeping him deactivated to try and make sure he stays with him, which while not bloody, is a pretty violent act if you think about it, but it fits kokichi because technically hes not hurting him! It just takes practice to learn the more subtle stuff.
So while I don't disagree that I much prefer my version, I don't want to like actively put anyone down and be like "im so much better then all the other yandere blogs" like nah this is just my personal niche of preferring psychological horror to physical horror and I've been doing this niche for like a goddamn decade so I have a good eye for the details on it, and even then my own version is still inspired by other yandere kokichi stuff. It's all a circle! Which is why i dont mind if people do things inspired by my kokichi
Not to say you can't be really annoyed or anything obviously, I'm just a nerd who really likes this kind of stuff and finds all of it so so fascinating, I was super fixated on this trope as a teenager so I still love analyzing it. It can definitely be frustrating, and it's honestly half the reason I made this blog was because I was annoyed at how no kokichi yandere content involved dice despite it being such an interesting concept. It really does mean a lot to me that you like it so much, anyone I can convert to the cult of "psychological warfare based yanderes are underutilized and cool" is a welcome recruit mwahaha

Is it okay if I ask for all the students with a mate who loves horror and insists on it everytime it’s movie night?? (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)
I don’t know if you’ve done this already!! So sorry if you have!!
Of course, it's more than okay✨don't worry, I haven't written about such topic yet☺so I'll try my best with the headcanons, adding little details🙈:
"RAD CLASSMATES+NEW EXCHANGE STUDENTS WITH A MC WHO LOVES HORROR MOVIES"
DEMYA
Demya wouldn't have too many problems with horror movies, often having to deal with blood and gore, especially in battle and during her hunting sessions, however scenes of torture or imprisonment would make her rather uncomfortable, pushing Demya to hug MC and seek comfort in their arms, a guttural growl rumbling from deep in her chest, since it would bring back memories of her childhood spent in a human circus as part of a freakshow, basically in slavery, chained up and malnourished, MC better give Demya lots of kisses and caresses to make the movie night worth it. For the rest, Demya would be mostly happy to take care of the snacks for the evening, such as popcorns, candies, making sure there are also options that MC would like, playfully feeding them from time to time, to be romantic. However, Demya has quite violent reactions to jumpscares, so she might instinctively throw something at the TV. A movie she might like, even if not exactly horror, would be "Predator", because the yautja would remind Demya of her old tribe (fauxsaeva)
DOMNRA/MOBIM
Domnra is the type to get frustrated and shout insults at the protagonists' choices during horror movies, especially if the cast is made up of rather stupid individuals, it would challenge his sanity, but it could be quite funny for MC, otherwise Domnra wouldn't feel much fear, at most he would tense during moments of suspense. Furthermore, movies about hexes or curses would remind Domnra of how Mobim came to exist, in this regard he would agree with MC to forbid Mobim from participating in movie nights if the movies were to result too scary, because the last thing he would be need is for the little curse to have nightmares. Domnra wouldn't mind if MC cuddled up to him if scared, he'd be pretty smug about it actually. A horror movie that would be fun to watch with Domnra would be "Child's Play", because it would be funny to see him screaming at the TV that Chucky is just a fucking doll and that a kick would be enough to send the little freak into orbit, at least it would be easy for Domnra, being a demon. If Mobim managed to secretly watch the horror movie, the little curse would have trouble trusting dolls in the following months
AZUL
Azul would prefer anime movies or musicals if he really had to choose what to watch on TV, however he wouldn't disdain horror movies from time to time, especially if they dealt with ghosts or similar beings, because Azul would like to comment on the scenes of the horror movie, make fun of them if they aren't realistic enough and explain how he would have acted instead in the antagonist's place, proposing absurd ideas just to make MC laugh, he could also tease MC if they showed fear, only to then scream like a banshee if a jumpscare were to catch him off guard. Azul would be enough of an asshole to phase through the TV like in "The Ring" just to scare MC, they would have every right to make him sleep on the couch after such antics by the way. A horror movie Azul would be interested in seeing would be "Nightmare On Elm Street", because he would find Freddy and some of his ideas fucking hilarious, plus being able to manipulate dreams like that would be cool
ZURI
Zuri wouldn't be a fan of the genre, not because she doesn't like horror itself, she knows how to appreciate it, the problem would be that most horror movies would be ridiculous for her, not scary at all, so she would end up choosing more psychological horror movies, mysterious ones, where her intellect would be stimulated to try to interpret the plot or find out who the culprit is, which she would pick on pretty quickly. Zuri wouldn't appreciate too splatter or gore movies, because she would find them exaggerated and without class, after all to arouse terror, quality would be better than quantity. If MC had trouble sleeping, Zuri would let them spend the night in her bed with the lights on, promising to watch over them until they doze off. A horror movie that would intrigue Zuri would be "Silence Of The Lambs", especially Hannibal Lecter, because it would be interesting to see a cultured villain for once, even if the cannibalism detail would remind Zuri of Demya
ODON
To be honest, it would be a hilarious scenario, MC watching horror movies with literally an eldritch abomination next to them, it would almost sound like a joke and Odon would grasp the irony of the situation, joking softly about the fact that evidently their being an ancient eldritch horror isn't enough for MC and that they need to compensate with movies. Horror that would cause existential crises or morbid themes would have no effect on Odon, who would simply watch with a curious gaze while chuckling occasionally, mentioning that some things would remind them of their younger days, when they committed even worse actions. MC, as a horror lover, might want to listen to Odon's stories, if they feel up to it. It would be difficult to be afraid during horror movie nights, considering that Odon would be able to obliterate any present threat even with just a glance, so it would be a pleasant evening. A horror movie that MC could watch with Odon would be "The Mist". The eldritch abomination would analyze the other monsters, pointing at those similar to some beings they have actually encountered in the past
REMIEL
Remiel would not understand MC's desire to view horror material, considering that it would be enough to watch the news every day on Earth to experience dread, she technically experiences sorrow every day, dealing with souls to be led to the afterlife, however she wouldn't mind keeping MC company, willing to learn, especially since it would be the first movie she would watch in her entire life. Remiel would remain quiet during the horror movies, studying with rapt attention every single scene, as if to analyze them, therefore her silence and apathetic expression at the beginning wouldn't give much feedback, MC would just have to wait until the end to get comments from the angel of death. Remiel wouldn't be afraid, considering everything she witnessed in the past, she would allow MC to cover their body with her wings if they needed to. A horror movie that could be interesting to watch with Remiel would be "The Sixth Sense", because she would be able to grasp some aspects better, given the resemblance of the covered topics to her celestial duty
NATHANIEL
Nathaniel would prefer to watch documentaries about nature or animals if he really had to be sincere, not that he can't handle horror movies, his poker face wouldn't reveal anything about his thoughts, however Nathaniel wouldn't understand the pleasure in being disturbed, themes that would bother the angel in particular would be possessions or stalking, because one of the things he can't stand most would be the sense of helplessness. Nathaniel would tense up at jumpscares, but otherwise he would manage quite well during horror movie nights, which if not accompanied by chatting with MC, could end with him dozing off on their shoulder, not out of boredom, but out of tiredness. A horror movie that Nathaniel would be interested in watching would be "Coraline And The Magic Door", the idea of discovering and exploring a new realm would be fascinating, moreover his favorite character would be "Other Wybie", because he's of "few words" as well
URIEL
Uriel would quite criticize most horror movies, she would comment on how most of the protagonists have no survival skills or instinct and that if they followed rules and were respectful, perhaps they wouldn't have found themselves in such situations to begin with, she would honestly think some of them would deserve their demise and would only root for those she believe to be worthy of surviving according to justice. If the horror movie involved evil humans, Uriel would be disgusted by how close their cruelty would be to that of demons, consequently she would become even more protective of MC for a while, moreover themes such as cults or sacrifices would make Uriel uncomfortable. Horror movie nights might be one of the few times MC would be able to convince Uriel to stay without her armor in order to relax, however she would still keep her sword at her side. If Uriel saw a horror movie like "Hellraiser", she would be disgusted by the concept of cenobites, finding them blasphemous and repulsive. During the horror movie, Uriel would describe in details how she would defeat them one by one, ignoring the fact that they would likely enjoy pain

fic Hannibal Lecter × OC [ chapter 1 ]
tw for fic: cannibalism, horror, nsfw, gore, smut;
A woman needs to go through a tough psychological evaluation before she can get the freedom she longs for, but her 'psychiatrist' seems bent on bringing out the worst in her.
At some point during her adolescence, Rose was officially deemed a lost cause. On an ostensibly tranquil morning, one could find the girl bloodied in front of the principal’s office because she had violently bitten a classmate’s ear during a fight, or perhaps because she had stabbed another girl with a pen.
For reasons unknown to her, Rose was almost always angry. She would be angry at people for being happy, angry for being underestimated, and —mostly— angry for being alone. Even if it was her own fault.
The girl concluded that there was a 'monster' inside her, something evil that had possessed her body. Perhaps like Jekyll and Hyde?
Well, whether in the orphanage or at school, people always avoided her like the plague, and Rose certainly preferred it that way. At some point, she was committed against her will to a psychiatric facility; the girl despised that place, feeling like a caged animal time and again.
Rose had to learn to contain herself, to behave, to pretend she felt nothing in order to finally escape from what lay within her. She passed all the tests, swallowed all the pills they gave her, and smiled whenever it seemed necessary. Her last challenge now was a... psychiatrist?
Hannibal Lecter, some sort of renowned man who constantly aided the police in capturing psychopaths, serial killers, and other types of criminals. People like the thing 'inside' her.
( . . . )
"Rose? Are you ready?" whispered the nurse who accompanied her, standing before the door of the beautiful office of her unknown evaluator.
She glanced briefly at the policeman in the corner, standing tall and awaiting the potential 'outburst' that Rosa might have.
"I am."
The door opened. Rose couldn't contain her surprise. She had imagined her psychiatrist to be an old, bald man, perhaps grumpy and repulsive like the others she had met.
What she saw before her was a tall, elegant person in a suit, kind and curiously handsome. He smiled upon seeing her, and something in her chest resonated with the feeling of danger.
"Miss Rose, I presume. Please, come in," he said in a velvety tone, gesturing for her to enter.
A few seconds of silence passed.
"Are you Doctor Hannibal?" Rose asked, raising an eyebrow as she saw him blink softly.
"Most of the time, Miss."
Did psychiatrists really need to be so enigmatic? A genuine doubt arose, and she pressed her lips together to avoid saying anything petulant in front of them.
Once they were alone in the room, she sat in the chair, feeling the strange sensation of danger resurface.
"I read that you had some incidents in your youth. You bit off a classmate's ear..."
"I was angry. I regret what I did."
"Oh, you regret it?" Hannibal looked at her, a short smile on his lips.
"Do you find this amusing?" she asked, her gaze narrowing involuntarily.
"I do."
"I regret what I did back then," repeated, almost as if affirming it to herself.
He resumed reading, subtly curling his lip to one side, remaining silent as he tapped his foot lightly on the floor.
"You ate the boy's ear."
"I vomited seconds later."
"But you tried."
Rose gritted her teeth, clenching her fists in irritation. She had already said she regretted it; why did he keep bothering her with something that happened years ago?
"What kind of session is this?!"
"I want to help you, Rose."
A simple response, adorned with a smile from someone who gazed at her like a sage. They remained silent for the rest of the session, staring at each other in silent scrutiny, she had no idea what was going on in his mind, while Hannibal Lecter seemed determined to uncover what was happening in hers.
How was she supposed to convince him that she was sane?
( 🫀 )
It's been a while since I last wrote a fanfic, and I thought I could mix my little obsession with Hannibal into this project.
English isn't my first language, so please excuse any mistakes you might see in my writing T - T

BTAS Dork Squad’s Favorite Horror Film
TW: TALK OF BLOOD, GORE, FEAR, AND DEATH
JERVIS TETCH:
Okay so I have a feeling he enjoys older horror movies, but not too scary ones. He gets frightened easily, isn’t one for too much blood and gore, and doesn’t enjoy jump-scares. No, he hates that. So the movie that most likely stuck out to him was Jaws, a classic. It wasn’t too scary for him, wasn’t too bloody or had too much gore, I think the only part that might have made him upset is when that kid is eaten by the shark. Other than that, he probably most likely enjoyed it, and would watch it again, most likely in October.
EDWARD NYGMA:
It’s either Escape Room, or Saw. I’m leaning more towards Escape Room, mainly because it’s a problem-solving movie. I mean, it quite literally tests your intelligence and smarts more than Saw does, it has actual riddles in it. Edward loves that, easy choice for him.
JONATHAN CRANE:
This one is tough. He probably likes all horror movies, of course with preferences. He doesn’t like the comedic, ridiculous movies or just flat out plain movies. He probably likes older movies too, like Jervis. But if he to pick one, it would either be A Nightmare on Elm Street or SMILE. He likes the psychological aspect of SMILE, and I can imagine him making Jervis and Edward watch it with him. Whenever a is about to jump-scare pop up he just smiles and watches the other two scream, he total predicts it and loves watching the other’s scream in shock. A Nightmare on Elm Street is just an old classic for him, he enjoys it a lot. It isn’t exactly scary for him, but he still likes it.
