#in the context of jjk it feels like the main character and the protagonist are not exactly the same thing #yuuji is the main character who was stripped away of all the things that made him the protagonist #and all the things that made yuuji the protagonist were later given to megumi #megumi is the “chosen one” the one in a million but all those things that normally would make the main character the protagonist #are out of megumi’s control #the story is still about yuuji #the story could only take place BECAUSE of yuuji and yuuji's CHOICES that’s why he’s the main character #yes kenjaku orchiestrated everything about yuuji's birth and role in life but yuuji is still the one who CHOSE to consume sukuna’s finger #yuuji was still the one who CHOSE to #not include himself in the binding vow sukuna made him enter #those are two pivotal points in the story and yuuji was the one who made them #yuuji may not be ”the choosen one” BUT THATS A GOOD THING #that means that even tho kenjaku orchestrated yuuji’s role in life yuuji was and still is the one in charge of his own life and story #he even decided to postpone his own execution wondering “why the heck I have to be executed”#he gets to chose what he’ll do next and NOT FATE #megumi is the one who’s “blessed” he inherited the most powerful zenin ct he’s father was the catalyst that started it all #he’s the one who was #the one in a million chance to be sukuna’s vessels #and megumi didn’t have ANY say in that #because all this time megumi didn’t get to be in charge of his own life #gege really had the fate toy with him just like reggie said to him back then #megumi gets to be the protagonist (or more like have a role of the protagonist) because he let the “fate” dictate his life for him #(unless noooowww he decides to finally take the reins of his life and save himself from his fate)#itadori yuuji #fushiguro megumi #I’m yapping I don’t even know if this makes sense I was caught in a moment skksskks

Y’all ever think about if Sora falls to darkness that inside his heart will look like the Destiny Islands falling again

#i do a lot #kingdom hearts #one of the biggest reasons i think we’ll see something like this in canon. briefly at least #not only would parallel ddd w ven’s heart/armor no longer there to protect sora #and roxas and xion gone from sora’s heart too. so sora would be alone #and actually there as opposed to in the RoL/awake when riku dives in #but also there is no way nomura’s gonna pass up the chance to bring us full circle like this. he loves making his characters revisit/relive #worlds and memories like this to make a point. and sora’s heart was sunset in ddd… following kh1 the dark and stormy night comes next #The thought of sora and riku reaffirming their love and friendship here when it broke the first time the islands fell #both of them having to in a way relive this horrible night for the final time #but riku doing the total opposite of last time. trying to save sora trying to stop the darkness from consuming everything #being totally honest with sora. reaching his hand out for sora but this time he’s not being consumed by darkness.#he’s become the light in the darkness. and they finally reach each other they finally grasp hands. I’m chewing on glass #i don’t think sora would ‘fall’ to darkness in the traditional sense #thematically i think it makes more sense for him to be faced w another martyr choice #though his own negative feelings would still be tangled up in there. and this would parallel kh3 #and if sora chooses to let darkness into his heart to save others it’d also parallel kh1 w riku choosing to open the door/let the darkness #into destiny islands at the risk of others #god it’d be just like kh1 but we’d be playing as riku and he’d be the one looking frantically for sora #a reversed dynamic. but now they understand each other’s pain and feelings so they can reach each other #figuratively and literally #i love parallels i love symbolism i love themes kick my ass !!!!

they both struggle with art-related physical and mental health issues, and complicated families

#outdrawn #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #sapphic books #I thought this was decent! I liked the concept (even if I got distracted by some art related things…)#and the dynamic between the characters was good. I enjoyed their relationship development broadly speaking #and the emphasis on communication; though it was a quick flip into being together all of a sudden.#The sketchbook doodle flirting was cute. Some interesting exploration of their complicated family situations too.#There’s a lot of exploration of burnout and carpal tunnel and the dangers of artists overworking which I think are important conversations #and are done with some nuance. But it’s pretty much all discussed in the context of the personal pressure they put on themselves #rather than the industry corporate greed and artificial competition created by the comic platform - which are significant in this story!#It felt odd that that connection wasn’t really ever made?#I know that this is a romance and nitpicking the background plot is beside the point and also that I am not a big romance reader #but the premise that the comic hosting site archives everything; wipes the leaderboard; and out of nowhere has a comic competition for #new weekly chapters…I’m sorry but the art world would riot. Even if people enter because they’re desperate for the cash they’d be pissed #People live off the income from their webcomics! if they were erased (temporarily) with no notice…..there would be crimes committed istg #I simply don’t believe that it would be doable to create a new weekly webcomic with no notice while you also have a full-time comic job #(especially as the only stylistic choices mentioned are full-colour) - not to mention what happened to their 8-years-running webcomics #that were archived? they don’t think about them at all after the beginning? surely they’d care about that?#And then with their new comics they make for this competition (after work I guess) we get vague snippets about them but barely anything #- if they’re consuming that much of your time I would expect to feel like they’re thinking about them all the time #rather than the vaguest discussion about genre and cast numbers only.#I guess I just think the whole comic site stunt felt unnecessary for the plot anyway -#it would have worked exactly the same if they were just competing on the normal leaderboard with their normal comics???#anyway - I’m not judging TOO hard about all that because again I know it’s not the point and maybe the industry is like that in some place #Unfortunately it was distracting enough to affect my feelings on the book tho lol.#Lastly: the audiobook………oof. The narrators talk at different speeds; for one.#And Sage’s VA does this deeply weird raspy-anime-teen-boy voice for Noah which is such an odd choice #and doesn’t match her character at all.#unforch my library only had the audiobook (what I usually prefer) so I just had to sort of….translate the narration into a normal voice lol #anyway the romance is good tho

one thing thats so interesting about being a vegetarian is you get to hear all about everyones hypothetical activism that they care about very deeply when talking specifically about your diet and why it's stupid, but literally will never bring up ever again in any other context

#good idea generator #ppl will honest to god hit me with a 'well what about the dmg caused by plant agriculture' when i say im vegetarian for the environment #oh please tell me more about all the things youre doing to try to minimize your impact on the environment #and all the things you know about agriculture. in your infinite wisdom of [checks notes] doing the exact same thing you always have #or is the argument that because individual choices make little difference that we shouldnt even try or talk about it in case its annoying?#its not necessarily that these people arent making good points also #its just that when you have these same conversations 75 times over and over and over and OVER and get nowhere #it starts to become obvious most people learn these arguments in order to avoid genuinely interrogating their eating practices #either on an individual or communal level. am not asking you to cut out meat or go vegan (not a realistic demand of everyone on earth)#but i AM asking that you please do some self reflection on why the idea makes you so defensive #and about what exactly is so terrible of the idea that we may need to produce and consume less meat #i thought about 75 disclaimers i could put on this post but honestly if they become necessary it would prove my point

ngl anon kind of fucking rude to come here and accuse me of that. i don’t make fic just to rack up some arbitrary numbers, be that wordcount or idk, kudos. i make fic because i fucking care about what i’m writing about. if i didn’t, i wouldn’t write it, i certainly wouldn’t post it. AI fic is a plague on fandom for plagiarism reasons, obviously, but also because why should anyone give a shit about your writing if you didn’t? I don’t care if one day we have AI that makes stuff identical in quality to what people can, or better, even, because the words on the page aren’t the point, it’s always about the reason behind putting them down.

So, to answer your question, none of it. And it never will be. I’d rather never write again than stoop to that. And I certainly think less of anyone who does it themselves.

I woke up crying because I knew the boops would be gone when I awoke 😭

Actually it’s because I had a dream where my twin sister (who I hated) had died years ago, then I became a dancer with one of those celebrity lookalike/impersonator people, but she was pretending to be my sister instead of a celebrity and I wished my real twin sister was there to dance with me because I got along with the impersonator and would have loved to get along with my real twin sister as well.

I do not have a twin sister. I also hate dancing. It was a weird dream.

#I don’t remember most of the rest of the dream but I do remeber being forced to wear a pink cape by a lesbian couple #I refused to wear it because my bike was blue and they would look stupid together #but they insisted #also the bike people kept refusing to sell the bike to me for strange reasons #like one of the reasons was if I had painful periods i couldn’t ride that particular bike and needed a differnt one #but I was like ‘I can bear the pain anyway’ and fist bumped one of the lesbians on my way to grab the bike #everyone clapped #because I was so big and brave about potentially riding a bike with period cramps eventually #I think i alsp saw the inconceivable vastness of human life and the possibilities available to us #every choice I made altered my path in a visible way and I could see everything I was and everything I could have been and will be #it was ugly and crude #it felt hopeless and never ending #because it was #but I accepted it because it was impossible to unchoose a path once it was chosen and my only options were to accept or let it consume me #I could not choose if I wanted to participate or not #the only real choice I had was to give in or to choose my own path #and I decided to let lesbians buy me a bike and force me to wear a clashing cape #what does this mean about my psyche #dreams #my rambles

Tall tales (which was the name of the playlist she made for your birthday), great mistakes, and the time of my life." And another playlist with the description, "My life as it is! Taller tales than ever before." And posts them both to the Spotify she knows you can see? What does it mean? Hello what does this mean??!? I need someone to please present the correct answer because I don't know what to think or feel but I can't stop looking at the playlists and crying, and I'm at work so that's not great, so I just need an answer please.

I try my absolute hardest to sympathize with "why write if no comments/interaction" posts, but it is always such a complete disconnect for me. 'Why post' would connect. Do I post my writing/fic for attention and interaction? Absolutely! If I got none would I stop posting what I write? Probably. But that as a motivation to write is just.... I think we are operating on completely different software. And your software is valid! But mine cannot open that file type.

#if i ran that software i would have finished a couple of my genshin wips YEARS ago #but i write what seizes me. i have no choice. i get anxious and stressed when not writing #and have piles of writing no one will ever see because of it #(or only one person will see. columbia has seen probably twice as much of my dnd oc fic as anyone else.#aromantic-eight at least a third again as much genshin fic. etc.)#if i didn't make an effort to produce postable work and never posted i'd have mostly the same amount of docs/words #just less coherent/consumable. i PLOT for the audience

I get you anon lol. When I attempted to read The Bell Jar, I had no idea that bitch was racist and she lost her 3 "benefits of the doubt" strikes in the first chapter alone... Mind you there was no disclaimer about "old fashioned language" like I've seen in James Bond so I was taken aback (like "it can't be the author ive seen people praise for must read in your lifetime"). Unfortunately, we live in a society where your friend argument is slightly understandable BUT I know it will piss you off as soon as you read something racist in one of her texts lol (so pretty fast). And to me her racism is a staple of her art, it will be inseparable while reading her. Also you are right not everyone was racist (it's always a good counterargument because it's indeed true) so why indulge with her or give her a pass smh.

it is utterly miserable for a mediocre show to have a really good plot or make god tier parallels or connections because you're like well this show isn't good and the writing is flimsy and there are so many holes and bland storylines, but they paralleled the season finale to an earlier season finale and then made the weight of that decision foundational to the next season so now my every waking thought is consumed by it

#liveblogging: supernatural #i'm shaking and trembling as the horrors consume me #season 9 was so lacking for it to have been so significant and insane #sam's CHOICE he CHOSE dean. he CHOSE codependency. he CHOSE love for his brother above ALL ELSE #and then season 10 kicks off with all of that CRASHING DOWN AROUND HIM #1. he can't save his brother 2. his brother hates him 3. he's having all his shortcomings thrown in his face #he gave up EVERYTHING for dean in the s9 finale. and then dean TURNS INTO A DEMON #this show is not good. the writing isn't good. technically speaking. there are so many plot holes. senseless retcons. underexplored ideas #it's flimsy and weak and poorly paced and developed #and then they throw THIS SHIT into it #like WHAT am i supposed to do. WHAT am i supposed to feel #season 9 sucked but it changed the trajectory of my life forever. HOW do i cope with that #i wish demon dean would kill ME with a hammer so i didn't have to sit here and stew in my feelings. over this season 8-10 insanity #supernatural goes TOO HARD for having such mediocre writing. i'm going to light myself on fire #.txt

idk, i just think that (to a point) Everyone's a product of the media they consume. that's why certain media is called 'formative', esp if you watched it young. one thing you watched/read could’ve lead to an interest which could’ve gotten you to learn/participate in/avoid something you wouldn’t have otherwise. take away all the books you’ve read, movies you’ve watched, music you've listened to, etc etc- you’re likely a totally different person. which is neither good nor bad, that's just called being a person who lives on planet earth.

#if i went back in time to middle school and made it so twilight wasn't on hold and i finally read at the age of 11 #pretty sure i could've become a twilight fan (opening a whole new branch of who i could turn out to be)#or how i was This Close to becoming a directioner (and i probably would've been a whole new person due to that)#or how i only got into doctor who because i was recommended hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy (my first real intro to scifi books)#and without that i probably wouldn't have stayed on tumblr (which i only made bc of my interest in animation (more media consumption lol))#bc it's the who in superwholock that cemented my desire to make an account #or if i hadn't thought the violin looked cool bc i saw it in a movie then i wouldn'tve joined orchestra in 6th grade #(and then discovered i hated orchestra so then i joined band. and then i was offered the choice of baritone or sax and i chose baritone)#and marching band (which i later joined) defined all 4 years of my high school #something that straight up would not have happened if i hadn't thought a violin player looked cool in a movie i saw as a kid #boom! butterfly effect!#so who am i without all these experiences bc of the media i consumed? idk. if they exist in an alternate timeline #without any of the things that make me Me #that's a stranger for all intents and purposes #rambles

Honestly the idea of slugcats existing in a sort of space where they are capable of 'moral' thought but not having a full structural concept of it in like, slugcat culture is kinda an interesting thought. Like they have sympathy as a personality value that governs a willingness to do harm, particular in terms of slugpups being unwilling to eat live food like centipedes if it has high enough values, if i recall right.

Which does seem to at least a basis for slugcats having an internal capacity (or lack of) for violence, and at least some understanding of what the 'weight' of choosing to harm something is- enough to potentially have a discomfort with it just by their personal nature. The idea of experiencing guilt for a natural, accepted and expected behavior without otherwise having a full understanding of what guilt is even is interesting.

#like do little slugpups grow out of that and adjust outta necessity or are their like. Slugcat families that grow up still avoidant of those #food sources because they don't like killing?#would that not be a 'moral' choice? Since its a choice made from ones discomfort with a potential action?#but like #not one other slugcats even consider as a thing #Like i guess at minimum slugcats have an understanding of things that harm other creatures enough that they might make an active choice to #avoid doing such. Although I will state I don't think that inherently makes the choice to harm an immoral one for this hypothetical animal.#Especially since in this brainstorm other slugcats don't consider anything about this at all. And a horde of slugpups can consume a pile of #centipedes in seconds so they have no hang ups at all sometimes #this isnt bioposting this is something else. something sinister #whatever #rw bioposting

im trying to write a crossover fic for the first time, for now im just hoping to finish the first chapter and see what the response is, but i have no idea what im doing 😭

im basically following the exact plot of one of them, just replacing the characters, but i do not know if i should be writing this almost word for word (aka using lines of dialogue, keeping the pacing and actions exactly the same, just changing mannerisms and wording to fit the different characters) or i should just go for it from memory

the thing im rewriting is life is strange, and ive watched tons of playthroughs so i know the plot pretty well, just not all of the dialogue and beats, but if i wanted to be precise i'd have to rewatch it, make notes, then go from there

and unless it's not already obvious, research is not my favourite thing, i will do it but i procrastinate A LOT compared to when i have a random oneshot idea

#my thing is #should i take this super seriously #or should i just have fun with it #also about response #since it's life is strange it kinda requires people to be interested #because there are obviously choices #it would be really cool to get people to vote on which ending happens #i feel like rewriting a story exactly is just time consuming for nothing that interesting #like they could just go play lis #i guess i just need reassurance that crossovers/rewrites don't need to be perfect???#im concerned #multichaps are not my specialty #and im making it way too complicated again #BUT THE PARALLELS ARE TOO IMPORTANT TO ME #so please #help
