Glimpses of the Past

Some time before Zero became an Intoner...

It wouldn't be the first time Zero has been stolen from. She'd already experienced getting all her money taken by bandits when she'd initially escaped from that damned brothel. And even now, she always had to guard anything she had vigilantly, lest it get taken from her. But she'd slacked out of exhaustion today; her illness was beginning to catch up with her, leaving her ever more tired.

But that didn't mean she could just give up. Out of spite, she continued onward, refusing to die despite the way she deep down desired an end to this endless, brutal fight for survival.

What made today's incident of getting stolen from unique was the perpetrator. A girl, not too much younger than Zero, clothed in scanty and rather worn out lingerie. Zero remembers briefly seeing her in the city not long ago, returning to some brothel or whatever, hair a mess and evidently probably coming back from some unpleasant client.

Zero had deduced her a prostitute pretty fast, which soon led to the conclusion she'd now come to. This girl had escaped her forced employment, and now she was stealing from Zero. Unfortunately, Zero woke fast and always slept with her sword by her side. Zero thus had quickly kicked her to the ground when she'd seen her clutching some of her food in her hands, her foot on her back whilst Zero pointed her blade to the girl's head as she laid on her stomach.

"What do you think you're doing?" Zero questioned, and the girl looked at her in horror. "I-I...p-please, d-don't hurt me! I-I just- I was hungry, ok?!" The girl struggled as she released Zero's food, in hopes it'd persuade her to let her go. Unfortunately, Zero's foot only pushed her down harder, and the girl was starting to realize she might not be getting out of this alive. "P-please! I'll do anything- I-I only just managed to escape, p-please don't kill me-! Please!"

Zero's eyes narrowed, as she got confirmation of her theory as to why this girl was here and listened to her beg for her life. "I-it took me s-so long, I-I had to kill everyone so th-they w-wouldn't chase me down, I-I had to w-work so hard for this- p-please let me-" Zero's blade sunk into the girl's head unceremoniously, as she looked down apathetically at the now dead girl.

"Your mistake was stealing from a light sleeper." She knew the girl couldn't hear her now, and yet she still felt like saying it. She's not sure why. She pulls her blade from the girl's head as she continued staring at the girl as the wound Zero had made on her bled out.

This could've been Zero, in some other world, if she weren't careful. On so many occasions, she could've gotten herself killed and died a death this pathetic. But she got lucky. Or was she actually the unlucky one, continuing to live this hellish life? Was killing this girl more of a mercy? Not like Zero really did it for any reason, let alone mercy. She didn't even think about it in the moment. She just got tired of hearing the begging, and did what came most naturally to end it; killing the origin of it.

Zero would never beg for her life like that if it came down to it. Though she wouldn't thank the perpetrator either, but she's also not sure she'd curse them. Not like there'll be one, in frankness; she knows her illness will probably take her before anyone else does. But Zero still finds herself with complicated feelings as she steps away from the girl's corpse.

She won't become like this girl, that's for sure. Even if she knows her death is probably already assured, she'd certainly not die because of some stupid mistake like this. She's already gotten farther, with how she's survived years longer on her own than this girl has. She won't become like her.

'I'll be better than that', is Zero's final thought as she goes back to sleep.

Because Drew and Paige are cut from the same material and letting Azzi into the folds seems to just come naturally to both of them. rly giving me hope that everything was gonna be okay.. when is drew gonna come around 🙁 im wondering if paige ever explained why they broke up

i dont know why i was surprised but it makes sense that paige hasn't forgiven azzi yet. im curious to see if paige truly knows azzis reasoning for saying no. maybe if they have that conversation later and azzi reveals why she did it then paige might have clarity and forgive her so they can move on

“I know what she deserves. I think I know what’s good for my daughter,” Azzi says steely and Paige feels something cold squeezing through her ribcage, “no soda Stephie. End of discussion.” guys i dont think this is about soda.. i think this is the beginning of azzi pulling away and realizing how much paige has attached herself to their life and its scaring her

“what are you gonna do when she walks away again? When she lets you go again, what are you gonna do Paige?” if azzi overheard this i hope she takes it as motivation to reassure paige she wont leave instead of running away again. in her head she probably thinks that leaving sooner rather than later is the best choice but the only real choice is to STAY!!!

"Paige feels the blood drain out of her body as she slowly turns around to find Stephie and Azzi -their faces ashen with identical expressions of betrayal- staring at her. " earth shattering. stephie finding out this way was heartbreakingggg. i thought that paige could stay if she wanted to though i think this could be worked through but in this moment everyone is so heated and azzi and stephie are definitely thinking the worst things rn NIVI FIX THIS!! i think everyone just needs to talk it out and take small steps to forgive each other.

Throughout Y/ns whole pregnancy Matt was so sweet and patient. Anytime y/n was having a bad day or was getting sick, he would comfort her and hold her hair back while she was throwing up. He never complained. When the baby was born Y/n decided to name her after Matt, her name was Madison and as a nickname everyone would call her Maddy.

At about 3am Maddy started crying, Matt being the sweet dad he is told Y/n to go back to sleep and he would take care of her. After Matt fed her, he wanted to just hold her for a second. Y/n didn't hear Matt come back into their room so she went to go check on them, when she entered the room she seen Matt sniffling while holding her.

"Whats wrong baby" she asked walking over to the father and daughter. "I just love her so much, I don't ever want anything bad to happen to her." he said crying a little. "Then nothing will ever happen to her, we will keep her safe. I love her too but I also love you." Y/n said looking at Matt then down to Maddy. "I love you so much Y/n" Matt said looking into Y/ns eyes.

After a couple seconds of looking at the newborn, y/n said while yawning "Can we go back to bed, I'm very tired", "yes, we can" Matt said laying Maddy back in her crib "no, let her sleep with us" Y/n said "I don't want to crush her'' Matt said back with a scared look in his eyes, "you wont, I promise. I just want to be in bed with my little family" Y/n said comforting Matt. "ok lets go" Matt said walking back into their room with the baby in his arms.

As they watched the baby drift back to sleep, they looked at each other and felt the warm, safe feeling of having a family. No matter how small their family was it was still theirs and they loved it.

Ask Game! OKAY SO I know this is asking for one specific character, buuuut I'm going to go through more than one character haha. To start;

Toph!

I was just talking about Toph in a server a couple of days ago, and I feel like people mischaracterize her a lot, but I kinda don't blame them! Toph is kind of a tricky character to write! But I read so many fics that just boil her down to "tough girl who doesn't take shit and bullies everyone" and like, yes, there is some truth to that, but she is also so much more! She's soft, she listens, she's genuinely a kind, good friend, despite her rough demeanor! There's a reason Sokka opens up for the first time about his mother with Toph.

Azula!

I adore Azula to bits, I love her, I want to see her get better and get another chance, but man, I hate how people lately have been woobifying the crap out of her lately (this happens to Iroh and Zuko too!!). I seen an argument on TikTok that Azula had a right to mortally wound Aang because it was SELF DEFENSE?! I thought OP was joking, but uh, nope, they were completely serious haha. You can't say you love 'problematic' characters only to try and make them 'unproblematic' as possible!

I noticed that there's some people that hate Aang with a passion, so much so, that they'll try to paint him out as this sexist, abusive person/partner/father, and it bugs the hell out of me. Kind of makes me laugh a little too, seeing how powerful the haterism is towards this fictional 12 year old boy. This discourse especially gets worse when TLOK gets thrown into the mix and people try to paint him as a 'deadbeat' father, and some even try to compare him to Ozai?? It grosses me out, and the 'deadbeat' part is far from the truth! Words have meaning and weight to them, people!

Sokka!

Had to throw my fav in here of course. Here's the thing, people will either characterize Sokka as being nothing more than a dumb jokester, or they'll acknowledge that he's smart, but completely forget that he's incredibly grump, sarcastic, and skeptical which can lead him to be borderline cynical, especially in S1! There's also the whole "Sokka didn't really love his mom" discourse and, not to sound dramatic, but it makes me want to rip my hair out LMAO. I personally think that Sokka is one of the most interesting characters in ATLA and it kinda sucks seeing people gloss over him so much.

URSA!

Now this might be my most controversial take lmao. Before I start, I'm not saying Ursa was a perfect parent, and I wont be talking about the comics in this part, just strictly the show. But at this point, I almost feel like an Ursa defender because people greatly misinterpret her character and try to paint her to be just as bad as Ozai, especially when Azula is thrown into the mix. I'm sorry y'all, but I don't agree with the "Ursa was a 'boy' mom and favorited Zuko and abused Azula" takes. I don't think this was the case at all, and her relationship with Azula is so much more complex than that. People tend to forget that A) This was all Ozai's doing, he saw Azula as a weapon and put a wedge between her and the rest of her family (specifically Zuko and Ursa) and B) Ursa was also abused. She was an abused woman, trapped in a horrible situation, and wasn't left with a lot of great options or freedom.

Anyways I could talk about this all day with pretty much the rest of the Gaang, but I'll try and keep this from getting too long haha! AND AS ALWAYS, I don't want any discourse! I am always open for discussion! I love reading other peoples takes and I am always willing to change my views!

Yeah, all that talking for a whole week yet, for the life of me, I coulnd't understand how you could keep misusing the word "bullying". It was just so jarring! Like Gurl! It's not that hard, no cap, I've held this in for like a week now, because I didn't know how to find the correct english words, but I think I have them now so I can finally let it out! Also I thought I'd start Monday with you not misusing that word anymore, but... I promise! Let me help, this is one of the few english words I know the meaning like the back of my hand!

Could i plz have some shang tsung kontent that doesn't involve him shipped with random characters (i mean really random. 99.99% of the roster genuinely hates him so him fucking them makes no sense. They would kill him in a heartbeat and would rather die. So wtaf). Because y'all so deprived in life?

(Also nobody in mortal kombats lore likes shang tsung. He is the biggest bastard. As we love him for it. So no. Him being with any canon characters makes no fucking sense at all. Period)

Could i have some x readers that doesn't involve other characters in how you meet? Like it feels like an oc at that point. The only characters that could introduce you. Would be if they are working for shang tsung. And no its not the storm bros. No its not any of the "good" guys. It would be a shadow priest,a shokan,a black dragon merc,shit like that.

i’ve said it about a hundred times already, but three tangerines is so special to me. this world you’ve created and to which you dedicate so much of your time and heart has become nothing short of comfort to me. reading your words, regardless of how angsty they often can be, feels like a hug. from yoongi slowly coming down to vulnerability, to reader slowly opening up to change and affection – these are the characters whose struggles i’ve followed hand in hand, by your side!

i know i’ve been absent and i’ve missed this community a lot (saw there’s a discord happening too, and imma apply to it asap!!), but i’ve never left, cus three tan is always with me. it’s with me when i take some time to breath and remember that i deserve to be loved, when i speak myself despite being afraid of how i’ll be perceived, when i watch fireworks or simply when i remember a dialogue, a scene, and i smile. you’ve achieved something so beautiful and so especial and i hope you know that.

i’ve written reviews that aren’t nearly enough to express my love to your and your work. i’ve cried, i’ve laughed and i’ve kicked my feet. 3tan yoongi, very much like real life yoongi, is a safe space for me and many others, and he was written by your hand. by your care with your characters, by your preoccupation with always giving us the best, by your moments of pause and ponder and by your incredible talent. every lil hiatus, every interaction, every thirst days in the side blog, every ask game, every teaser you’ve posted, are all pieces of the beautiful now two-year-old mosaic of three tangerines, and it’s been an honor to be part of this journey, even if i’m a lil away.

i know i’ve been absent and i’ve missed this community a lot (saw there’s a discord happening too, and imma apply to it asap!!), but i’ve never left, cus three tan is always with me. it’s with me when i take some time to breath and remember that i deserve to be loved, when i speak myself despite being afraid of how i’ll be perceived, when i watch fireworks or simply when i remember a dialogue, a scene, and i smile. you’ve achieved something so beautiful and so especial and i hope you know that.

this world is special to me, as well, and all of you are part of that. thinking of you all every single day alongside these characters has just become part of my life. and it's gonna continue to be this way for a very, very long time. we've been living lives with them - growing, changing, improving - and that is wonderful to witness.
