I just finished watching The Umbrella Academy season finale. And rewatched all 3 seasons the past few days. I am so disappointed with this season that I have to express it in some ways.

Okay good things first. I loved seeing all them back together again. I missed Klaus and Ben together even though we didn’t see them together that much this season. I love the chaotic reunion in eps 1 and 2. I like how Ben toned down his a-hole personality, less screaming but Brelly Ben and Sparrow Ben were somehow both there. Luther’s stripper clumsy dancing because he’s so happy he’s not hairy anymore. Viktor going on dates after dates? Klaus still being the weirdest in the fam with his new phobia. Allison less famous but with her Claire. Diego and Lila adulting really hard.

The Jennifer incident finally explained. Did not like the rush love line between her and Ben though. Viktor and Reggie’s car bonding moments just like Klaus and Reggie’s in s3. And Viktor finally confronting old Reggie, one of my fav scenes. I think the diego luther cia story line wasn’t necessary but it was funny. Love the series dumb and dumber.

I wished they explained more about the subway time travel, it looks really promising. I mean how did he figure out how to go back after reading the notebook. What was in the notebook? I wanted to be included in the journey. Instead they focused on Five and Lila being a thing. I can see the actors have chemistry. I loved them in S2 as bickering siblings trying to impress the Handler like she’s their mom. I mean if Lila didn’t have kids with Diego and wasn’t married maybe it was alright. Enemies to lovers trope is classic but not this way. I understand the actor is of legal age now but seriously it was wrong. I actually thought Lila is the Dolores of this stuck in time scenario this season. I don’t know why the writers did this.

Five is my favourite character. He just wanted to go back to his family and retire. Can’t believe they made him ruin another family. Yes, maybe he’s tired of another apocalypse and he just wanted to stay in that house with a glasshouse garden but man not with his brother’s wife. I can’t seem to move past this.

Although the Five Deli scene was cute. Would’ve like more scenes of those. I wonder when Lila shouted it’s over to him, what was he thinking going back to the subway. What would he have done if he didn’t see himself?

And Ben? Ben turned into a giant blob. I cannot believe it. There was no sibling warmth except with Viktor. I can’t believe Klaus didn’t make a fuss about it. He wasn’t even a marigold at the end. Because I counted 7. Or was I too tired?

I wish we can create another timeline with better writing and ending. Maybe if we had 10 episodes it could’ve been better? I don’t know did Netflix ruin this for us?

Ok ok ok ok ok wrap-up thoughts on the season now that the finale is out:

First of all, DEATHBIT DEATHBIT DEATHBIT

2) ok the subplot with Rogue and Magneto actually grew on me. Like, she’s rejected him ultimately but they still mattered to each other and they still do, it’s just not romantic from her side anymore. I can’t blame magneto for not getting over her rejection I’d never be able to take the psychic damage of losing Rogue

also yeah the age gap was a little weird but I’m living for the drama and the potential for their platonic friendship. I want to make a comment about how their stint is an example of unidentified trauma becoming trauma bonding but then I have to like…write it.

3) I actually think Roberto and Jubilee were super cute and have elected to give their storylines a pass. Like they’re just kids coming into adulthood and have found comfort in each other, that’s good enough for me for now. (Though I’d like to see more of comic-accurate Sunspot being adapted but I digress. It’s only been 1 season.)

Also I think Sunspot awkwardly hanging around the Xmen slowly coming to terms with his speedran adoption is the funniest basis for an arc and have no further comments. Might write a fic later on his Struggles.

4) KURT JOINING THE MOTHERFUCKIN SQUAD BABYYYY and literally just everything about him. Being so supportive of Rogue and holding her and encouraging Gambit and just 😭😭😭😭

5) PHOENIX JEAN PHOENIX JEAN I LOVED JEAN

6) cyclops was one of my least favs in the original, this show put so much respect back on his name. I actually adore him now—plus the scenes with him doting on his grown ass man child is hysterical. Need more of it. I need this guy telling people this Hulk Hogan of a unit is his lil boy.

If Nathan isn’t seen later at a baseball game with Scott in a Summer 01 jersey and the cyborg arm badly painted over I’m committing crimes.

7) I think Storm needed way more screen time. I know there were scenes with her written out due to budget issues (and also them skipping her goodbye to Gambit made me annoyed) but like. The fact that her centric arc was put across two episodes shared with other episodes was irritating.

7.5) In this same vein I missed Bishop, I got so attached!!!! but here’s to hoping he’s kicking ass again in s2!

8) the rate in which I fell in love with these characters all over again is insane. Like harder than the original show in a fraction of the time.

9) Rogue did nothing wrong. 😭

10) Magneto definitely wasn’t right, but it’s interesting to witness how they justified his view point with Genosha and Bastion, and the ripple effect it had on people who didn’t even agree with him in the first place.

11) Cherik lmfao they were SO gay. I’m all for affectionate besties and dudes being shown as having close platonic bonds but this was Very Affectionate Besties with Seductive Grin Bedroom Eyes Charles Every Two Sentences.

12) honestly want a version of this show though where Charles stayed gone. I actually like him! I just think not having him around to help guide everyone made things so much spicier. Magneto was StrugglingTM for Real

13) Gambit’s death was so good, but I definitely figured he’d be coming back somehow because there was no way they were offing him thinking Rogue didn’t choose him.

14) speaking of, I was mostly joking in my shitposts about Death Gambit cause I had my money on a possible Sentinel Gambit with Bastion’s introduction, but the moment they went to Egypt I started clawing up all my old shit posts.

15) ROGUE DID NOTHING WRONG (lots of wrong but you know what? I love her. She can commit wrongs again.)

16) Beast was so good but I also low key wish he had a bit more screen time. His bitterness after Genosha was short-lived, I wish it had been explored more, like Charles talking it out of him or something and reminding him about their goals or…something.

17) Bastion was awesome no notes, hope he comes back as a horseman for the flex

18) hot Magneto no notes

19) hot Apocalypse no notes

20) crop top Gambit no notes

21) “His name was Gambit! Remember it!” Rogue was so beast in this season, it was cathartic watching her beat the shit out of Bastion. Her and Sunspot honestly make for a cool combat duo and I want to see them interact more.

23) ey yo hold up does this mean Leech and the Morlochs and the perished Genosha mutants are permanently dead??? 💀

24) Logan and Morph were definitely something this season and I adored it, I adored Morph especially. Like Morph really said I Love You even if it was as Jean, I take what I can get

26) Magneto ripping Wolverine’s skeleton out like homie wouldn’t try to kill him with a wooden chair if given the opportunity. If anything now Logan has 0 weaknesses and a personal vendetta he can act upon. Rest in pieces Erik.

27) A goddess, a gravely injured Canadian, and a metaphor for gender identity walk into a bar and all 3 say “ouch” (bad joke. You’re welcome. Don’t worry guys, Storm is there so their arc will be wrapped up in about 12 minutes. Sorry can you tell I’m still mildly salty about her lack of screen time)

28) Rogue launching Cap’s shield is 11/10. Do it again do it again (woulda been top tier humor if the end credits showed him still looking for it frantically as the asteroid got closer)

Mostly that’s all I got. I have various other thoughts including how fucking HYPE seeing my fav duo Cloak and Dagger made me, but these were the key personal takeaways.

do you have any tips on how to start writing fics?

the outsiders brainrot actually has me coming up with ideas and i have a desire to start writing them into actual stories but i've never written outside of class papers/assignments and i don't really know where/how to start since it's all just my own prompts and ideas and there's no grading rubric lmaoooo

like do you plan out each fic with a list first or do you just start writing about the main plot point of the chapter and fill in out of order or do you just start writing and see where it takes you... do you do any research while you're planning or pull from other authors/fics/posts or write from experience...

how do you decide when to stop writing or decide on which endings/paths/plot points to go with... the deadly combo of indecisiveness and perfectionism along with having no guidelines or due dates is crippling me so im asking some of my fav authors (who have also been inspiring me to write and be creative)

wait hi this is so sweet thank you!!! 🥹🥹 i will preface All This (sorry i yapped so much lol) by. i’ve been writing fic for like ten years and i think a lot of my old fic, while deeply cringe and awful, was all very important to getting me where i am today where i feel i can accurately get across what im trying to say!!!

first. hone your ideas!!! try to find a good niche you feel comfortable in (but also. don’t limit your creativity!!!). idk for me it’s easier to start specific and small rather than super general bc then i have Tooooo much freedom u know. i think my niche sorta across fandoms is generally softer dialogue, exploring close siblings or familial or friendship bonds an dynamics through situation, a lot of fluff, maybe a lil hurt comfort

i basically exclusively write in order! unless i get a really cool line/paragraph in my head that i write out and save for later to fit in somewhere. i usually have a like one-line idea that just Comes to me (ex. this was my entire line idea that turned into that pony getting jumped fic!)

then i’ll expand it a little more into a shitty little paragraph (ex. here’s a few!!!)

and then tbh after that i just kinda write everything in order from top to bottom from there. i wish i were more organized tbh and writing long fic/chaptered stuff is still sooo hard for me (which is why i don’t do it much yet lol) but im really trying to break out of it!! slowly we are learning!!! retaining the inspo and drive necessary to write that much is harddddd lmfao

before writing i always do have a solid idea where i want it to start and go and end though. like that ponyboy jumping fic i Knew i wanted to have pony get jumped in the opening scene, then go home, try to break down cutting his own hair, brothers come in and talk him down and it ends with talking abt johnny, even if i didn’t like. List that all out in words in a document.

definitely do research!!! espppp for outsiders bc it was like 60 years ago!!! well researched fics are soooo obviously tonally different and it’s always super obvious imo when that sort of care is put into ur writing. that fic i wrote about darry getting a panic attack was important researching bc panic attacks weren’t well known or researched or even Called panic attacks back then, so it’d be hella jarring seeing like 1967 13y/o pony whip out “you’re having a panic attack darry 🤓👆” yk lmfaoo

i SOO get the perfectionism and having no due dates thing btw. i have literally like 5 fics i’ve started and not finished in my docs rn with like 15 more ideas i wanna write someday. tbh! try to enter that Hyperfixation Zone and be really excited about what you’re making!!! helps it go by easier bc i swear sometimes i’ll write fic and it feels like pulling teeth even though it’s supposed to be fun!!!

last thing. try and find friends to bounce ideas off of and go crazy with you <3 or ppl to beta read!!! makes writing SO much easier and sm more fun having a your own lil personal cheerleader!!! if you ever need a beta id be soooo happy to read whatever you’ve got and hype u up!!! <3 i hope this helped at least a little bit LOL my writing process is kinda chaotic ngl

What’s your favorite American Housewife episode? I can’t pick a favorite but I have a few fav episodes from every season.

I’ll do one a season because I love so many. And they might be less my favorite but more memorable to me (if you get what I’m saying)

⚠️SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVENT SEEN AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE!!⚠️

Season 1, is Episode 12 “Surprise!” Because it was Oliver’s bday which is already special but it was also the first episode where we actually see and meet cooper for the first time. Baby Cooliver really makes my heart warm and seeing Oliver and his dad share a moment was super sweet.

Season 2, is between episodes 17 “All Coupled Up” and episode 19 “It’s Hard To Say Goodbye.” Ep 17 showed more cooliver but also showed Gina (Oliver’s gf at the time) and how Gina was making Oliver someone he isn’t. It gave us some lovely Cooper and Katie moments and it was when Anna-Kat made it “official” with Franklin. Plus we got some Trip and Taylor too so all together a jam packed episode. Ep 19 was when Spencer passed on and we got to see a more emotional Oliver and a more caring Katie. Katie and Oliver’s relationship is very complex as they have the most distant relationship out of all the Otto kids imo and this really showcased how much she truly cares about Oliver and his emotions.

Season 3, is also between 2 episodes. Ep 13 “Mo Money, Mo Problems” and Ep 23 “A Mom’s Parade.” Ep 13, was a fav for me since we saw Katie and Greg get some alone time but we also saw Cooliver and got some Taylor being a great big sis to Oliver so all in all a good episode. Ep 23 is good because I love music and musicals lol. I literally have all the songs on my Spotify playlist, “You Can Do You” is a certified bop. Katie’s voice was amazing and i honestly wished for a 2 hour musical special after that 😂

Season 4, is between 4 episodes (I literally can’t pick one 😭) Ep 6 “ Girls night out”, Ep 14 “A very English scandal”, Episode 19 “Vacation!”, and Episode 20 “Prom.” I liked ep 6 since we saw Cooper and Trip basically become permanent members of the family and the adorable scene of them recreating the picture will also be in the back of my mind. Ep 14 was when Oliver “came out” lol and we got see to see Oliver be who he truly wants to be (he just doesn’t realize it yet) and I loved how everyone thought it made sense and that Cooper was his boyfriend 😂. Plus the love story between Greg and Viv made my heart happy. Ep 19 was a breath of fresh air as it was actually shot outside and in LA which was nice. We got a Cooliver side storyline which ended in them agreeing that with Oliver’s family and Cooper’s money that they work perfectly together which made me so happy. Anna-Kat and Taylor had some bonding going on and I love to see it. Episode 20 was great, I’ll always love a prom/dance episode. I was sad that Oliver went to prom with the teen help line girl and not Cooper (especially since the teen help line girl ignores him next season 🙄.) but the little dance scene at the end was cut and that was the last episode with OG Anna-Kat 😭.

Season 5, is Ep 1 “Graduation”, Ep 3 “Coupling”, and Ep 4 “Homeschool Sweet Homeschool.” Ep 1 was great as we say Taylor graduated but we also saw that Cooper was moving away. Oliver was so sad and lost that entire episode at the thought of loosing his Cooper. But it made me so happy that Oliver had a heart to heart with Katie and in the end Cooper moved in with Oliver and the family. Ep 3, was so full of Cooper and Oliver acting like an old married couple and I loved it. Katie and Greg even joked about making them a sex basket like they gave Trip and Taylor. (Side note: I love how supportive Greg and Katie are of Oliver’s sexuality. LGBTQ+ or not, they love their son and just want him happy 🫶🏾.) Ep 4, once again full of Cooliver moving in together and having those married couple vibes.

Basically anything with Cooliver I loved which was a lot of episodes lol. Trip and Anna-Kat’s relationship was so precious to me as he was a second older brother to her and it warmed my heart. But anyway tysmmmm for asking me stuff and don’t be shy to ask more. 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾

Decided to indulge myself with another trainer sprite and trainer card for myself- once again using this site to help with team organization and overall for clean assets and clean asset sizing

Something different I wanted to do was try to make myself comfortable with easing up my usual shading style.

These two, for instance, are May and Tracey in my usual style (i forget if i uploaded these- these are from ny Ash AU basically). Personally, I think it can pop, but there's also a lot more work put into them and they come across as less authentic, not to mention I'd like to steer towards a simpler style that I can make pop with less shading.

For a standard splice edit, i think it's not too bad. The outfit is based on a combo of clothes I own I wish I felt confident wearing in public, lighter weight clothes I wear in the summer to cool off, and I even gave myself the headband I wear when I do outdoor work. Also, I wanted to indulge a little- I'm getting a bit more muscular and slightly leaner lately, and I wanted a sprite to kind of reflect this.

As for the card itself, it's a modified Academy Key I made previously for a bunch of OCs, and again, I kinda see this as a Keychain kinda deal. There's also sort of influence from a driver's license- grade indicating what type of trainer you are (and not grading percentage in school lol). Kinda like how real life licenses can show certification for normal cars are different vehicles.

I imagine you insert the pass key into a pc like a thumb drive to access your pc and your party that way, with your party being represented and changed digitally.

The team I chose is basically a mix and mash of Pokemon I've had on my mind lately and wanna use more often. It was actually kinda hard to narrow it down due to all the type clashes with my favs (for instance, having Hisuian Samurott, Scizor, Golisopod, Corviknight, Alolan Marowak, and Hisuian Typhlosion would have so much type overlap, and I'm way too picky about that).

They're all Pokemon I've owned and used and could see myself taking a vacation with em.

1. Doujikiri/Shiny Hisuian Samurott, the same shiny I shiny bred for in my Indigo Disk adventure. It was between this or my shiny Umbreon, but I ended up going with Hamurott because it's my favorite starter, and I can see myself walking with it like it's a big dog (which it does in SV) or swim with it.

2. Klamps/Scizor, my main ace in my last playthrough of Soul Silver. I've had a strange hyperfixation on it lately, and who could blame me? It's a cool design. I'd imagine this would probably be the "sakuga" Pokemon- or at least the designated close combat fight scene Pokemon.

3. Lightning/Jolteon, I own 3 but Lightning is the one I used in XD GoD in my first successful playthrough of it. Jolteon actually used to be my favorite eeveelution for a while, and I want a little spunky doggo to run around with

The next three were actually on my Teal Mask team

4. Yoginator/Blood Moon Ursaluna, who is easily one of my strongest mons. Idk, mine hates me lol, so maybe we'd bond.

5. Hollabax/Baxcalibur. I dunno, he's not particularly strong and tanks hits like a missile through tissue paper, but I kinda wanna vibe with it again. Could see us using its ice to keep cool

6. Shogun/Hisuian Typhlosion. Again, kinda missed mine. Johtonian Typhlosion was my first Pokemon, and I vibed with the Hisuian variant a bit. Could see it as a stand in for my old girl. It was between this and Alolan Marowak, and I just like Typhlosion a little more.

Can I ask for advice if you don't mind? My friend wants to write rare pair from Yuumori, between Mycroft and Hudson. So somehow they got into relationship between those 3 years gap, and when Sherlock & William got back to London, miss Hudson found out that she got pregnant.... Now, my friend knows that I ship Mycroft and Albert but still want to ask my opinion on her fic. What do you think? Does that plot seem ooc to you? Is it possible in au?

First off, thank you so much for reading my fic! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it!! 😊

Even though I obviously very much ship Mycroft/Albert, I do also really really like Mycroft/Hudson. I think it's as valid as any of the other side pairings: Sherliam is the big essentially canon ship and everything else is just kind of taking little crumbs and running with them, and that's great and fun and I love doing it, haha!

I've written random posts before about how I think Mycroft and Miss Hudson could have a very...idk, mature? romance. They're both very independent and well into adulthood. I think they would be really forthright and have a good idea of what they want from life, and, in a relationship context, from each other. I tend to think they'd avoid a lot of the drama that comes with younger romances (*affectionately side-eyes Sherliam's theatrics*).

Also I always think they'd be really good parents because they've already been parenting Sherly together for years. 😆 (I kid, they're definitely both more older siblings to him. Regardless, it's a cute part of their bond.)

I think them growing closer together during the timeskip years is a very realistic possibility. It's canonical that they were there for each other in their grief at least to some degree, with the adorable milk tea thing and whatnot. It's sweet to imagine them discovering something new and joyful together while they comfort each other.

I don't know how familiar you and your friend are with the Victorian Era, but the one caution I'll give just in case is that if an (I'm assuming) unmarried pregnancy is treated in a Victorian-setting fic the way it would be in the modern day, it would absolutely take me right out of the story. Being unmarried and pregnant then was A Big Deal, with relatively few options for how to proceed (here's an article about one of those options: TW for mentions of rape and suicide). So, if the fic isn't a modern day AU, I would want to see those problems at least be acknowledged. Most likely it would put the couple in a position where a quick wedding makes the most sense. (Of course, if the idea is that they actually got married during the timeskip, disregard all this lol!)

Anyway, I would actually love to see more Mycroft/Hudson fics in general, so I'm eager to see what your friend comes up with! I don't think there's anything ooc about the pairing at all -- at least, no more so than any of the other ships besides Sherliam. In fact, I could probably even argue that Mycal (at least with the way most of us like to write Albert 😅) is much more ooc from a canon perspective. I'm always delighted to hear about (new?) people making fic for our lovely little fandom, and I wish your friend all the best with their writing!!

[speaking of canon characters here] According to my preferences -even if I almost love both of them equally by now- you could fairly expect me to choose Levi, but I would save Hange ! [Disclaimer : me not saying Levi's life is not valuable, don't misinterpret my words, people, please & thank you]

Besides Hange's fighting skills, their brains still have so much to offer to Humanity after war, in terms of progress, knowledge, improvement, technology, based on their scientific experimentation & enthusiastic curiosity. Their kindness & heartwarming sunshine personality would spread positivity & comfort around them as well, helping those close to them cope with their griefs & heal their emotional wounds. [But this would be so cruel, as I imagine they would mourn Levi for years & -secretly- hate me so much for choosing them over him 😭😭😭]

2/ My musical tastes are basically goth (mainly old school lmao) & metal since I was 12 yo. As far as metal is concerned, I used to listen to Rammstein & Marilyn Manson A .F*CKING .LOT !!

But as I grow older, my interest focuses on Black Metal, especially Satyricon [Dark Medieval Times & Nemesis Divina are my all times fav BM albums] & I recently experienced musical epiphany thanks to @stellar-smth 's advice : I literally fell in love with the Swiss band BORGNE omg I love their music so much !! 3/ Oh my, this one pierces right through my kokoro 💔 I DON'T handle their fate AT ALL, I can't ! The more we get close to March 3rd, the more I get depressed. After reading chapter 132, I cried for 2 full hours at least, I couldn't stop, even after re-realizing they were a fictional character. So when I'll watch the animated scene...

I'd say I'm somewhere in between. The way Hange sacrifices themself of their own free will to save their comrades - & thus humanity- totally fits the character imo. It's no surprise they follow their convictions & beliefs until the very end. Once again, I'll say they are the real hero of the story as they SAVE EVERYBODY ELSE'S ASS for f*ck's sake !!!

On the other hand, I wish they could survive the Rumbling & live a peaceful life with Levi 💚💜😢 So I'm more than often Team Denial & read so so much fics where they're both alive & happy together, I also focus on what happened during the 4 years time lapse in the story [mainly Levihan working together, lovingly taking care of their growing brats together, increasing their bond/love just being together all the time & so on & so forth, Levihan living rent free in my mind 24/7 tbh] Also : Hange is the most underrated character in snk, even more than Levi, & we need a f*cking back story for them please I'm on my knees begging you Isayama 🛐

i also think this was one of the better WWH for a katherine because. it really did feel very About The Work for her, like of course she wants to be taken seriously but she wants her work to speak for herself more than the fact she’s a woman. she doesn’t want to be the special girl reporter she wants to be respected as a reporter. real shit bronté barbe <3

and. ok. i can’t lie. pulitzer you had to be there BC BC BC…. i feel like often he is like the villain- oh and katherine is his daughter. but this.. they made it feel like actual familial severed bond? like he put his arm around her for “oh i trust you know my daughter katherine?” and HER FACE… oh my god she froze when he touched her. and then when she’s trying to follow jack out w the delanceys for bottom line’s reprise on the “but you can’t have mine” he grabbed her wrist to hold her back from following. she wrenches it off, shoots him a look, and leaves in the other direction… like yoo… idk they made Actual tension between them vs it just being in the script. THAT WHOLE SCENE my good god.

Hello :D! My, what an interesting set of questions. I was struggling with how detailed to answer them but figured I would go with the flow and see what happens XD

My top 3 JJK characters are: Gojo Satoru, Geto Suguru and Nanami Kento. My surface level reasons are because I find them visually attractive, love hearing their voices and seeing them beat the shit out of enemies. On a deeper level... each of these fine young men were dealt a deck that was stacked against them and I am fascinated with how each played their cards so differently (Satoru raising the next generation to replace the old generation, Suguru defecting to erase non sorcerers and Nanami leaving but coming back). Despite their differences, they all share commonalities (They care about the younger jujutsu sorcerors and became guardians/mentors to them).

Specific moments that really cement them in my top three would be when Gojo reels back from sorcerer mode and simply treats others like a doting figure (the baseball game and playing with Rika at the beach giving gifts to the kyoto students). Geto not being afraid to show his love for others in public (his interactions with the girls and still calling Gojo by his first name :') plus being willing to part from the familiar to go down a new path. Nanami bearing the brunt of a soul sucking job and still taking the time to help others (baker girl and Yuuji) his 'what it means to be an adult' speech still echoes in my head as I age :'3

Okay, this is my favourite question out of this bunch! (because it really caters to my self insert tendencies lol x3)

Anime: Shokugeki No Soma during the Moon Banquet Festival scene so I can try all that amazing food XD (Specifically, the time fuse mapo curry noodles <3)

General Media: I would have loved to have been present during the paintball contest in Community (TV Series) because I have never been in one and think it would be so much fun >w<

Book: Okay, I was not sure what type of book you were referring to so I just picked a manga (my fav non manga books aren't really places I wanna be present in hahaha ':D). I choose Blue Period during the festival (yes another festival but for art!) in the first year university arc. Seeing their creations in person would be even more breath taking I think ^-^... and maybe accidentally bump into Yakumo Mirai to which we then see if there is chemistry ;3c (Hey, you know I had to include at least 1 romantic self insert moment in this answer section XD!)

Hm.. It doesn't happen often and doesn't last long but years ago, I disliked Nagito Komaeda from the Danganronpa Franchise but I identified with his belief in the cycle of good luck/bad luck. It was only after the game and additional content that my belief in that waned and my feelings for him grew (yeah, I fell in love with him .////.;). Fun fact: He was the only character out of the cast that I was able to strengthen bond/affection lvls to the max without a guide 'xD

ok i haven't finished the ruby sapphire and the fr lf emerald arc BUt i can rank my favs in terms of writing and character. 1. DPPT. its so good and genuine. i loved how character centric it was to the three, the silly bonding and friendship and how much they grew to rely on each other. the archetypes is sooo good and they take the time to get out the character's traits and quirks. i don't feel a hint of inconsistency tbh. all the trainers start off with little pokemon for the majority but eventually build their team and its rlly nicely drawn out. And then when the big conflict looms it LOOMS. dia pearl and platina are so good. Lady and her two bodyguards :]. 2. BW. im not including bw2 in this specifically cause it didn't get out to me AS much. altogether its a nice wrapup. I adore Black's entire character and White was such a compelling mc. N's enterance in this is SOOO good like yeah i rlly wish they emphasized some parts. but they did good on him!!!! BW2 i have trouble getting as connected to the characters but i also get they needed mcs to be the vessel and continue bw's entire finale. i did enjoy them nevertheless Whi-two is my daughter. Lack-two is interesting and i would love to see him more in missions. i feel like he rlly shines when he's taken aback or slightly confused by interactions (he doesn't understand emotions! its rlly neat how they put him there and its just. how he is. nothing rlly to change but its fun to see him interact with others). 3. S&M. my god. all that in 30-40 chapters. considerably shorter than rlly past arcs but MAN it feels longer. lillie's arc is rlly rlly nice. FABA was such a twist that i gasped. I enjoyed the battles and the general vibes of the ultra beasts arc. I enjoyed Sun's entire motivation for getting 10 million yen, because it made a lot of sense after a bit. Moon is literally me (poison type lover). Guzma's scenes are rlly nice to me, and the pacing felt rlly laid out to what was given for them. Overall a good 7.8/10 i was enjoying that!!!!! (i was secretly hoping for battle tree cameo so i could see red and blue again because i missed them sm but i know its unlikely because they're more dexholders than gameverse's champion and viridian gym leader but a guy can dream. i miss them. i miss Yellow actually where is he.)

hi, i’ve always been too shy to comment or send asks before but i’m making this my first bc i wanted to let you know how much i appreciate your work! i read your hell yeah fanfic a couple of months ago & when i stumbled upon it again recently & found a whole master list worth of fanfics added, i was super ecstatic & read all of them in one go hahaha

my personal favourites are reality & arrival <3 reality bc their conversation in the carfax room was so in line w their characters, it just re-emphasised how much i wish we got more of willemmy outside of blackchurch. having a scene like that in nightfall would’ve really grounded them as a couple in the present. all the snippets from the first three books plus the high school chapters of willemmy were such good buildup only to have the willalexaydin bs instead 🤧 anyways, i have a soft spot for arrival too. to have the damon & indie dynamic play out like that makes so much sense! damon & will already have such a strong & unique bond so for will, of all his friends, to have the first girl in the group would definitely make their relationship extra special.

on a side note, your post abt aydin being a few years older than canon made me lose my shit btw since i completely agree 😩 whenever i’m in my devil’s night brain rot, i always pictured him like 6 years older especially w how penelope douglas was trying to portray aydin & emory together. oh & your timeline for the character’s ages made me happy! it never occurred to me for will to be the oldest of the horsemen (which i’ve seen a few ppl comment on). given his may birthdate, i just assumed he was born the following year after michael, kai, & damon were. i mean, it makes sense right?? he’s the baby of the four. i could be wrong but then that would mean damon is the youngest which i refuse to imagine for some reason given all the shit he’s been up to 💀

I feel that ‘reality’ is the closest I’ve ever come to getting Em and Will right. I also a snuck in a few references that are dear to me, so it’s special in my eyes, despite its needed edits. It was originally a request, so I can’t take all the credit for it, but I’m just so I’m happy that it’s one of your favs.

And ‘arrival’ has been a personal HC of mine for a long time. It took me a while to get out onto a page, so it’s great to hear that it’s struck home with others too.

A lot of my fics are borne out of that ‘we didn’t get to see this in the book but we should have’ and ‘what would have happened if…?’ feeling. Having had the chance to speak to other fans, I know I’m not alone in that, so it’s nice that so many people are finding my fics...fulfilling? I know other writers could do better, but until then, I’m happy to be around to fill a void.

Ahhh! The aydin age thing! Thank you! Anytime Aydin’s age is brought up in NF I’m like, ‘no you’re lying. You’re, like, 32/33.” But nope. He’s 26???? smh. Missed opportunity. It could have done so much for his character to just age him up a bit.

Regarding the timeline…as much as I would have loved for Will to the oldest…I think he is the baby. For clarification, I think Michael, Kai, and Damon were born in 1994 and Will in 1995. I didn’t want to give actual years in the post because I think the vibe that PD was going for was a timeless/infinite ‘this could be taking place at any point in time’. except for the points where they put in things that would date the books, the years and timing were purposefully left vague. I didn’t want to take that away by giving concrete dates. But I stayed up til an ungodly hour on a work night, going over this stupid timeline with a friend who has never read the series because trying to untangle it in my head was driving me absolutely nuts. So I had to record it somewhere.

In the chart, they all start the school year the same age* and then end the school year the same age, but within that nine months, it goes Michael, Kai, Damon all before Devil’s Night on October 30th, the new year, and finally Will in May.

That being said, at one point we did get stuck on whether Will was actually the oldest and I loved what it did for his character too. If at some point, he got held back a grade, it would go to why he’s a bit insecure, feels like he’s the dumbest in the group, and doesn’t trust himself to act on his own. I kinda wish Will had some sort of learning disability like dyslexia or ADHD because I think it would contribute to his lack of interest in school and strengthen his addiction storyline. None of that is canon and I don’t HC that it is. I just kinda wish it was there…

But according to my calculations, Will is the baby of the group, and of his family. That, along with his privilege, can also explain why he is the why he is.

Also Damon being the youngest would be hilarious and I wish it were so.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was amazing and so heartfelt!!

Spoilers ⬇️⬇️‼️‼️

The High Evolutionary was a truly terrifying and just evil villain, I don’t know the name of the actor who played him but, he definitely deserves an award for how well and just how much he gave into that role.

Rocket’s backstory was definitely heartbreaking and horrible, but I’m glad it wasn’t what I thought it was gonna be (from what I kept hearing from fans who had seen it) non of the animal experimentation is shown. But from snippets of Rocket’s memory and just the sound of it, you can guess how much more horrible it was in your own mind. (Plus seeing Baby Rocket after he’s experimented on, was so sad and horrible)

Adam was a genuinely funny character, I expected him to be the other stereotypical villain, but they just played him as a superpowered guy that doesn’t know how to properly use his powers and has no clue what’s going on, cause he’s basically a half done experiment.

I was so certain that either Rocket or Peter were gonna end up dying, but neither did and I’m happy for it!

I like how at the end, each character got their own specific happy ending that fit their character, plus Florence and the Machine (Dog Days are Over)!!!!! One of my fav songs, I was dancing along, so glad it was picked for this scene, it genuinely worked perfectly! Wish Gamora and Peter had gotten back together, but as this version of Gamora said “She isn’t the same person” But at least Gamora found somewhere she belongs, with the Ravagers, and where she can properly use her talents and skills. I hope Gamora and Nebula still somehow form or have that sisterly bond again.

Hoping we get either a Rocket spinoff or maybe eventually another Guardians related project in the future, since Rocket is leader now and made his own version of the Guardians. And I’m also really happy that Chris Pratt isn’t leaving Marvel yet, and we’ll eventually be getting more of Star-Lord/Peter in some future Marvel movie!!

1. How I feel about this character

Natty is my QUEEN. I love this girl with an extreme passion. Almost as much as I love Sebastian. ALMOST. SO CLOSE. Just thinking about her makes me warm and fuzzy inside.

2. All the people I ship romantically with this character

I am a huge Natty/Poppy shipper, so much so that I occasionally have to remind myself that they're not actually a couple in the game. But I also ship her with boxdstar's OC, Amara Ambrose, rather religiously now. So thanks for that, Mars. You're da best. <3

3. My non-romantic OTP for this character

She's best buds with my OC, Damien. I know, I know, C'MON CORINNE CHOOSE AN ACTUAL CHARACTER FROM THE GAME. BUT NO. AND HE IS AN ACTUAL CHARACTER, THANK YOU VERY MUCH... The brain rot is real, y'all. Damien is my ~child~. My boy. He has friends too, okay???? (I might delete this answer... NO, NO I WILL NOT.) (I did not. You're welcome.) But in all seriousness, I also see her being good friends with Garreth. Is that odd? I feel like they would both get along well because they're both risk-takers and they'd bond over having a relative (Natty's mother and Garreth's aunt) teaching at Hogwarts.

4. My unpopular opinion about this character

I don't think she uses her Animagus form wisely. Like... a freaking gazelle in Scotland? How is that not suspicious. Really now??? LMAO.

5. One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

I wish we could have spent more time with her in the infirmary at the end of the game. I'm a huge sucker for hurt/comfort in all forms (not just romantic) and that whole scene left something to be desired.

This was fun. Please send more. I'm begging someone to send me Sebastian. BEGGING, I TELL YOU. Haha.

i just gotta say, TUA S3 has done an amazing job at sibling bonding

spoilers under cut!

firstly, klaus and five (EP 2 SPOILER): these were the two i was dying to see together,,, and i LOVED seeing five pulling out his own marked map and ready to have a proper roadtrip with klaus and i really wish that they could've done it honestly (waiting for the fanfic where they actually have a roadtrip together and talk abt shit 👀)

secondly, diego and allison (EP 4 SPOILER): honestly the whole scene of them in the car talking about Allison's experience in the 60's and how diego's vigilantism wasn't a joke for him was super sweet and i didn't expect them of all people to have that type of conversation (not before at least)

thirdly, the sparrows: i love how perfect they seem to the umbrella academy and the viewers at first but as you get further into the episodes you see how that isn't as true as the umbrella academy believes. i love all of them equally oml

finally (for now), viktor & all umbrella's: although viktor's transition is quite abrubt (imo), it is nice to see all the siblings take a second to process before carrying on as normal. it was especially super sweet to see luther compliment viktor's hair + want to make a celebration out of it <3

all in all, loving the show so far!!!! (will be updated if i have more fav bonding scenes)

Let’s Talk About: Incorrect Analysis’s On Catra

You Cannot Condemn Complex Characters Like Catra By Focusing On Their Negative Actions/Traits Without Or Disregarding Why It Happened.

Really, REALLY tried not to talk about this on Tumblr and to keep it on twitter but I couldn’t help it. I had to share this discussion here. Because apparently it is hard supporting Catra nowadays as said fans like me and supporters of Catradora, Glitra and all other ships involving her are more than fully aware.

I am very sick of people using inaccurate information to just defame Catradora, Glitra and Glitradora. People only using the surface level of their situations and putting scenes out of context makes me annoyed to the highest level. Especially when they use it to prop up other ships

Let’s start with the three original posts in this thread to begin with.

So much shit is wrong here and we’re only at the first half of this post.

No, my mistake not so much EVERYTHING about this post is bloody wrong. Nevermind the fact that every single person under these threads agreeing or offering their own arguments against Catra is instantly wrong because this person is saying that an abuser was right to abuse their victim. It completely disregards the entire context of said scenes, what they actually mean and any other scene prior.

No, Catra did not deserve anything Shadow Weaver did to her. Nevermind the fact that if Shadow Weaver HADN’T done those things none of what this person ,and others who agree with him, is complaining about would have happened in the first place. Without Shadow Weavers abuse I bet my own right arm Catra would have left with Adora on that day in Theramore.

The scene in which Catra claws Adora is now famously used out of context in arguments against her on both twitter and Youtube. Let me break this down to you in simplest terms.

#1. They were children. Children are emotional and often lash out when they feel threatened or hurt.

#2. It was to further highlight Catras insecurities about Adora leaving her for other people which was further proven when she went to talk to Glimmer in the literal next scene. (One I love for other reasons such as Catra and Glimmer fully letting their guards down around each other and bonding over Adoras silliness to find comfort in each other.)

#3. The rest of that flashback is what prompts Catra to go into the rising action of her redemption--which i agree I wish there was more of but i’m satisfied with what we got--which doesn’t stop until the final episode.

#4. When doing analysis using words like ‘cunt; does not make you or your words seem smart it has the opposite effect.

#5. Catra was having a panic attack because at that age Shadow Weaver was telling her that the only reason she was even alive/kept around was because Adora like her. If Adora stopped liking her Catra would have no use and be thrown out so Adora hanging out with Lonnie and making more friends isn’t just her being possessive or a sociopath it is her associating her survival to Adora liking her.

#6 After that scene we switch to adult Catra looking at the window in thought, thinking back to that moment in contemplation and--in my mind--regret.

Moving on to that just absolute wrong opinion about Shadow Weaver. Yes she was interesting but by no means did she deserve to be electrocuted/binded by magic, gaslit, manipulated and threatened for her entire life.

She did not deserve a lick of the abuse she went through. That is not an opinion that is a fact, nobody deserves to be abused in the slightest.

Which leads me into the next thread.

(Shout out to Dude and SovietOnion for spitting facts. The latter is one of my fav She-Ra account so give em’ a follow.)

In the words of AceVane everything these two just said was “Incorrect as fuck”.

Firstly, SW was responsible for Adora and Catra. Never is it stated or shown that the other three were under her direct care. There was definitely a form of brainwashing in the form of propaganda which linked back to The Red Scare the US went through. 

Shadow Weaver in no way shape or form had anything resembling a redemption arc. What she got was a Darth Vader death scene that still felt iffy in hindsight because of her final words. 

“You’re welcome.”

Ah yes, thank you for gaslighting us and abusing Catra physically/Mentally and Adora Mentally which caused heaps of problems across the war and all seasons.

Truly, we owe you everything.

Now, as a character I like Shadow Weaver and Hordak. As a friend told me “I know this sounds iffy but I like it when abusers have layers. I don’t like em but I like to understand they why.” A statement which I am fine with--HOWEVER.

You not gonna sit there and tell me that no other character in She-Ra was properly developed at all.

Like bro--

A good 90% of the cast was worked on and developed through the entire show Shadow Weaver more or less stayed the same, sasyy, manipulative self through the show. Hordak is another matter but you aint gonna sit there and tell me you’re gonna ignore her gaslighting Adora and Catra as soon as they got back to Etheria and her manipulation of Glimmer.

I’m sorry but that aint flyin by me. You can’t just point out all the negative aspect of Catra and then look at Shadow Weaver and say she’s completely fine.

You cannot judge Catra on her negative actions alone. To do so would be an insult to the character and show, it also shows how little you understand of her AND Adora in the first place. You need to explain it fully. You need to explain the cycle of abuse and how that’s part of Catras arc, breaking that cycle and trying to get out of it and failing. She tries with Entrapta and Scorpia, the only two positives in a toxic environment she’s known all her life. 

But it doesn’t work because she is STILL reeling from her best friend/crush seemingly abandoning her, the plans they had made to eventually run the Horde, refusing to return to their ‘home’ all while her abuser is still targeting her every chance they get. I’m not denying any of Catras actions, but I do realize the why in the situations. Saying that “All she did was apologize.” is a severe wrong to all characters involved.

She did so much more than that and there is so much context. During the entirety of her time in Primes ship was reflecting, she looked upon destroyed worlds, she tried to get SOME kind of familiarity in trying to speak to Hordak, comforting and talking to Glimmer and seeing herself in Horde Prime. Prior to her capture she had once again lost everything, she sent Entrapta to Beast Island an action that gave her PTSD and nightmares. She pushed away Scorpia the consequences of which rocked her and contributed to her breakdown. 

She was going to let Glimmer fully kill her, showing another suicidal tendency like she did during the Portal episode. She didn’t care of she died as long as she won turned into I lost everything just kill me already. Let’s not forget she was jumping at shadows in hopes of  Bringing Scorpia back to the point that Lonnie—someone she grew up with but had a sort of rivalry relationship with—was visibly worried. On Primes ship she sacrificed herself knowing she was probably going to die, ‘knowing’ that with Glimmer gone Adora wouldn’t come for her, acknowledging and owning up to her own actions through—well through her actions. And when it comes to Adora well—if you guys really think she was ‘chasing after Catra’ you really didn’t understand who Adora is. 

Firstly she had no idea Catra was on the ship, secondly when she found out of course she went back for her because at the end of the day Adora isn’t the type to leave someone to freakin die. That’s not who she is, even without their history Adora wasn’t ever going to knowingly leave Catra behind. Even after she rescued her Adora has long since stopped holding Catras hand when it came to her barbs and blame but she understands Catra. She understands her more than anyone which is why she stayed when Catra asked her too during that scene on the ship post rescue. Building on that it’s also why Entrapta forgives her after she apologizes when the two are alone and THAT is a turning point.

Catra apologizing. 

 Realizing what she’s done and finally working to break out of the cycle she has been trapped in her whole life. From journeying to the ship and the entire rest of the war on Etheria she works on herself and is still called out for her actions.

The princesses do not trust her right away nor should they but Catra works on it. She has Adoras trust, they’re together again and she has new support in the form of Glimmer and Bow and returning support in Entrapta. Catra BREAKS the cycle and only then, ONLY then does she start to get what she truly wanted.

Acceptance. Love. Friendship. All she wanted and in the end she is deserving of all of them.
