I watched american housewife and am very sad that there's no season finale, so I want to make up what I think is best for the characters, if there was a season 6.
Katie - I thought the pregnancy was a weird twist, that only made the fact that the show is cancelled sadder. However, with that I would make that there are complications with the pregnancy, but in the end it turns out more or less fine. Just typical baby stress.
Greg - now that he's a politician, he just has some wacky storylines about what he's doing and fighting for nature and history and stuff.
Taylor & Trip - Taylor keeps doing relatively good in college, she and Trip are a great couple, although they for sure go through some troubles in their relationships. They also plan the wedding, but I would say they wait a pretty long time.
Oliver & Cooper - they finally become a couple god damn. Cooper convinces Oliver to at least finish high school, especially so they can go to Prom together. They have a lovely storyline about how they realize they do love each other, maybe this girl comes back and Cooper gets all jealous. Also, Cooper totally lied, his dad was not okay with it, instead he got disowned. Now he actually has to live a normal life and get into college the normal way. Oliver keeps working on that app, but he also finally realizes there's more to life than money, maybe through Coopers help. But also, I think his efforts should pay off (also, I think it was so unfair that he blew the SATs, because he literally worked so hard for it)
Anna-Kat - idk she's just doing kids stuff I guess.

Okay but like hear me out:
If Oliver and Cooper got together before season 5 then I highly doubt Greg and Katie wouldn’t have let Cooper move in with them but also we would get
Cooliver long distance episodes / Oliver going to Florida to surprise Cooper???
And possibly a mother-son gay cruise episode where we see Katie and Oliver’s relationship change???
I feel like there’s more possible episodes I’m missing if Cooper never moved into the Otto’s house

“I don’t care about your family’s situation! I care about you.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
|Cooper Bradford x Boy! Otto! Reader
ꕥWarningsꕥ: Fighting
ꕥSummaryꕥ: (Reader) and Cooper get into a fight about whether or not (reader) is good enough for Cooper
“I don’t care about your family’s situation! I care about you.”
The sun’s rays poured through your white curtains, burning your closed eyes. You rolled around in your pink silk sheets, reluctantly deciding it was time to face the day. Reaching for your phone, a smile crept across your face as you glanced at the lockscreen: Cooper, with his charming grin, standing next to your golden retriever, Luther. His brown, milk chocolate hair and perfect white teeth always made your heart flutter.
Unlocking your phone, you scrolled through TikTok for a few minutes before a text from “coop💗🏳️‍🌈🤑” lit up the screen: “Good morning to my favorite boy <3. How’d you sleep?” You beamed at the screen, responding, “Good morning, Cooper 🫶! I slept well. U?”
After a few more back-and-forth texts, you reluctantly informed him that you needed to get up.
In your closet, you decided on one of Cooper's oversized T-shirts that hung loosely on your frame, providing comfort and a hint of his scent. The fabric felt warm against your skin, and you smiled at the thought of him. You made your way to the bathroom, only to find Oliver hogging it with one of his marathon showers.
“Oliver! Get out of there! You’ve been in forever!” you yelled, knocking on the door.
When he finally opened it, clad only in a towel, you barged past him, locking the door behind you. As you brushed your teeth, you played your music—today’s vibe was all about Chappell Roan, a fitting choice for the energy you hoped to carry through the day.
Once in the car, you turned to your mom. “Oh yeah, Mom, can Cooper please come over after school?”
“(Reader), you know I don’t like Cooper. He’s rich and snobby!” Katie exclaimed, her tone dripping with disapproval.
“But Mom! I’m gonna help him with his… math.” You clasped your hands together, trying your best puppy-dog eyes.
“Why does he need you to tutor him? He can pay someone,” she shot back, her expression skeptical.
“Mom, he’s my boyfriend! Plus, I’m helping him transform!” you insisted, emphasizing “transform” with flair.
Oliver chimed in, “I wish we were rich enough to pay someone to do my homework!”
Katie rolled her eyes, clearly used to this dynamic. “Alright! Get out of the car, all of you!”
Protests erupted, but she ushered you all out, and you hurried to find Cooper. When you spotted him, you waved goodbye to Taylor and Anna-Kat.
“Hey, C.” You greeted him with a hug, a quick peck on the cheek leaving you both grinning.
“Hey, no PDA around me, please. I’m already grossed out being the third wheel,” Oliver muttered, crossing his arms.
“Dude, you’re my best friend. No way your brother will come between us,” Cooper replied, wrapping an arm around Oliver’s shoulder and fist-bumping him.
Classes flew by, but during gym class, everything changed. The coach announced it was time for some relay races, and Cooper, always competitive, was ready to show off. As the warm-up began, he pulled off his shirt, revealing his toned torso. You felt your heart race, your cheeks flushing as you took in the sight.
“Dude, you’re distracting!” Oliver teased, rolling his eyes, but even he couldn’t help but glance at Cooper.
You couldn’t help but fawn over him, your eyes sparkling. “You look amazing!” you exclaimed, unable to contain your admiration.
Cooper shot you a confident grin, basking in the attention. “Thanks! Just trying to keep up my athleticism,” he said, flexing playfully. You felt a warm glow of pride, knowing he was yours.
During the race, every stride Cooper took seemed more impressive than the last. As he crossed the finish line, you clapped enthusiastically, feeling a wave of pride wash over you. He ran over, slightly out of breath, his smile infectious.
“Did you see that?” he beamed, his eyes shining. “I think I could go pro!”
“You were incredible! Honestly, I could watch you all day,” you replied, giving him a soft nudge with your shoulder.
The rest of the day felt like a whirlwind of excitement, and after school, you both settled at the kitchen island to tackle some math homework. “Alright, Cooper, now all you have to do is divide eight by both sides to cancel out the x,” you explained patiently.
“You’re so smart. You know that?” Cooper said, leaning in closer, his eyes sparkling with admiration.
You smiled, feeling your heart flutter again. Just then, Anna-Kat burst in. “Hey, can you help me with my project?” she asked, bouncing on her toes.
“Sure! What do you need?” Cooper replied, always eager to help.
You chuckled as Anna-Kat began dragging Cooper off to her room, whispering excitedly about her project. You felt a pang of jealousy but couldn’t help but laugh at the two of them. It was sweet to see him engage so easily with your siblings.
Later that evening, you and Cooper settled on the couch for some downtime. You were wrapped in a soft blanket, the television flickering with a show you both loved. As you leaned against him, he draped his arm around your shoulders, pulling you closer.
“You know,” he said, his voice soft, “I really enjoy these moments with you. Just us.”
“Me too,” you replied, feeling the warmth of his body beside you. “I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
As the night wore on, the cozy atmosphere made you both a little bolder. You found yourselves laughing and teasing, sharing inside jokes. When your parents walked in, they caught you two in a moment of playful shoving, giggling as you tried to get comfortable on the couch.
“Get a room!” Taylor called out, a playful smirk on her face.
“Come on, you know we’re just studying,” you shot back, laughing.
As the evening drew to a close, you both wandered to your room, ready to call it a night. You snuggled into your bed, and Cooper flopped down next to you, pulling the blankets up to your chins.
“Hey, want to watch a movie?” he asked, his eyes sparkling.
“Only if we can cuddle!” you replied, a cheeky grin spreading across your face.
“Deal!” he said, settling in closer.

The next day brought a new energy, and you both walked into school, hand in hand. As you strolled through the halls, a few kids shot glances your way, some admiring and some whispering. You tried to ignore the latter but felt a flicker of self-consciousness.
During lunch, while seated with Taylor, Oliver, and Anna-Kat, you noticed a group of kids nearby snickering. One of the moms, Tara, walked by, her voice dripping with disdain as she commented on your relationship. “Look at them, holding hands like it’s a fairy tale. Adorable, isn’t it?”
You felt your cheeks flush, and you turned to Cooper, who immediately noticed your discomfort. “Don’t let them get to you,” he said softly, squeezing your hand.
“I know, but it’s hard not to feel weird about it,” you admitted, glancing down.
“Forget them. You and I are what matters,” he assured you, leaning in to give you a quick kiss, making your heart flutter despite the negativity around you. “Honestly, they’re just jealous because they’ll never have what we do.”
However, after lunch, you couldn’t shake the feelings of doubt. Later that day, while on a study date, you confronted Cooper about Tara's comments. “Maybe she has a point. I mean, you’re rich, and I… I don’t know if I fit into your world,” you said hesitantly, your voice shaking.
Cooper looked taken aback, brows furrowing. “(Reader), you can’t seriously believe that! I like you for who you are, not for what you have! Those comments are just mean-spirited nonsense.”
“But she makes it sound so easy for you to be with someone else. Someone who fits your lifestyle better,” you shot back, frustration boiling beneath the surface.
“Why are you letting her get to you? This is between us, not her!” he replied, his voice rising defensively. “I don’t care if you don’t come from money. That has nothing to do with how I feel about you!”
“Maybe I wouldn’t feel this way if you didn’t flaunt your wealth all the time!” you snapped, tears brimming in your eyes.
Cooper's face fell, and after a moment of silence, he turned away. “If you really believe that, maybe you should reconsider this whole thing.” With that, he stormed out, leaving you alone, heart racing and tears spilling down your cheeks.
Feeling utterly broken, you slid down the wall, sobs wracking your body. Just then, Oliver walked in, his expression shifting from confusion to concern as he rushed to your side. “What happened?” he asked gently.
“I—Cooper and I… we fought. He thinks I don’t want to be with him,” you managed to say between sobs.
Oliver wrapped an arm around you, pulling you close. “Hey, it’s going to be okay. You two care about each other too much to let this ruin things.”
Moments later, Anna-Kat and Taylor burst in, immediately sensing the tension. “What’s wrong?” Anna-Kat exclaimed, voice laced with concern. “Cooper and I… We– we fought a-a-nd now… I think we might break up.” You said as you clutched onto Oliver’s shirt, putting your face in his shoulder, wetting his shirt.
Your three siblings had all gathered around you, comforting you and talking you through your immense pain you were going through. You didn’t know if you were going to be in a relationship with Cooper anymore and that scared you.
The school day came around the next day, but the echoes of your argument with Cooper lingered like a bittersweet melody in your mind. You navigated through classes with your siblings, but every time your gaze flickered to Cooper, your heart raced. You couldn’t shake the feeling that your earlier words might have left a scar.
At lunch, you joined Taylor, Oliver, and Anna-Kat at their usual table. They chatted animatedly, but your thoughts were elsewhere. You absentmindedly poked at your food, listening but not really absorbing anything.
“Earth to (Reader)!” Taylor exclaimed, waving her hand in front of your face. “What’s up with you? You’ve been super quiet.”
“I’m just… thinking,” you mumbled, glancing over at Cooper, who sat with his friends, his laughter ringing across the cafeteria.
“Thinking about Cooper?” Anna-Kat teased, wiggling her eyebrows. “Ooh, is there drama?”
“Not drama, just… confusion,” you admitted, biting your lip. “I don’t want to lose him.”
Taylor frowned. “You two love each other. Just talk it out.”
Oliver chimed in, “Yeah, just don’t do that weird ‘silent treatment’ thing. It makes it worse.”
As you watched Cooper joke around with his friends, a part of you felt a flicker of jealousy. The way he smiled, carefree and charming, made your heart ache. You remembered how he’d defended you just the day before, how his gaze had softened when you were vulnerable. The thought gave you courage.
“Alright, I’m going to talk to him,” you said suddenly, determination filling you.
“Go get him, tiger!” Oliver cheered, giving you a playful shove.
You took a deep breath, pushing through the crowd until you reached Cooper's table. He looked up, surprised, and the laughter faded from his eyes.
“Can we talk?” you asked, your voice steady despite the nervous flutter in your stomach.
“Sure,” he replied, rising from his seat. You led him to a quieter corner of the cafeteria, heart pounding in your chest.
“I’m really sorry about what I said yesterday,” you began, meeting his gaze. “I let Tara’s words get to me, and I didn’t mean to hurt you. You’re worth so much more than that.”
Cooper’s expression softened, but you could see the remnants of hurt in his eyes. “I just don’t want you to feel inadequate. You’re perfect as you are. I like you for who you are, not for your family’s situation.”
“I know,” you whispered, feeling a wave of relief wash over you. “But sometimes it feels like I don’t belong in your world, and it scares me.”
“(Reader),” he said, stepping closer, “you belong with me. I don’t care about my wealth. I care about you and us. That’s all that matters.”
The sincerity in his voice made your heart swell, and you reached out, taking his hand in yours. “Thank you for saying that. I don’t want to let anyone, even Tara, come between us.”
A small smile broke across his face. “Good. Let’s not give anyone that power.”
Just then, a familiar voice broke the moment. “Ugh, get a room!” Anna-Kat teased, peeking around the corner with Taylor and Oliver in tow.
You both laughed, the tension lifting. “Alright, you caught us,” you said playfully.
“I knew it!” Anna-Kat exclaimed, bouncing on her feet. “You guys are the cutest!”
“Just admit it, you love us,” Cooper said, grinning.
As the lunch bell rang, you all headed back to class, the air lighter now. The rest of the day passed in a blur of laughter and stolen glances between you and Cooper.

After school, you returned home, the atmosphere buzzing with energy. You found Cooper in the kitchen, chatting with your mom while she prepared dinner. “Hey, lovebirds! How was school?” Katie teased, winking at you both.
“It was good,” you replied, feeling a warmth spread through you. Cooper grinned, leaning against the counter.
“Are you two finally going to start planning your wedding?” she joked, stirring a pot.
“Mom!” you exclaimed, your cheeks flushing. Cooper laughed, his gaze playful.
Once dinner was on the table, the family gathered around, and conversation flowed easily. As everyone chatted, you couldn’t help but steal glances at Cooper, who was animatedly discussing a recent basketball game. His confidence was infectious, and you found yourself hanging onto his every word.
Later, after dinner, you both retreated to your room. The comforting familiarity of your space surrounded you, and you settled onto your bed, pulling out a deck of cards.
“Want to play?” you asked, shuffling the cards playfully.
“Sure, but I warn you, I’m a card shark!” he replied, flashing a competitive grin.
As the game progressed, laughter filled the room, and you playfully accused him of cheating whenever he won. “You’re just too good!” you laughed, feigning frustration.
“Maybe I’m just that good looking and talented,” he quipped, leaning closer with a teasing smile.
Just then, Oliver burst in, a dramatic expression on his face. “Ew! Can you two not be all mushy and PDA-y in front of me?”
You couldn’t help but laugh at his antics. “We weren’t doing anything!”
“You were totally about to, though!” he retorted, crossing his arms dramatically. “I swear, you guys are way too touchy-feely.”
Cooper leaned back, a smirk on his face. “Just admit it, you’re jealous because no one’s cuddling with you.”
“Ugh, no! I just think it’s gross!” Oliver protested, but the corners of his mouth twitched in a smile.
Anna-Kat peeked in, overhearing the commotion. “What’s wrong? Is there too much cuteness happening?”
“Yes!” Oliver groaned, throwing his hands up. “It’s unbearable!”
You and Cooper exchanged amused glances, and the atmosphere felt warm and full of love. “Come join us, Oliver!” Cooper invited playfully.
“Not a chance!” he replied, rolling his eyes as he backed out of the room. “Just keep it PG, please!”
After Oliver left, you turned to Cooper, and he leaned closer, brushing your shoulder with his hand. “What do you want to do now?”
You grinned, “How about a movie?”
“Sounds perfect,” he said, settling beside you, the warmth radiating from him soothing your heart. As the movie played, you felt your eyes droop, your head resting against his shoulder.
“Hey,” he whispered, his voice soft, “are you falling asleep on me?”
“Maybe,” you murmured, stifling a yawn.
“Don’t worry. I’ve got you,” he said, wrapping his arm around you, pulling you closer.
You smiled, content and safe in his embrace, grateful for every moment shared.

As the night faded and you drifted off to sleep, the chaos of earlier felt like a distant memory. The bond between you and Cooper felt stronger than ever, solidified through laughter, love, and a promise to always be there for one another.

i don't know if this is a hot take or not but like season 5 was like the worst but best season at the same time:
-we got to see a lot of character development from cooper
-franklin also made more of an appearance so thats nice
-a TON of cooliver moments
-cooper dad reveal
BUT ALSO
-anna kat recast :( (do NOT get me wrong the new actor is such a great actor, just not fit enough for anna kat)
-different second breakfast people (i feel like its doris and angela , but swapped in a way i don't know how to describe it, and also doris and angela were so iconic so having angela leave in this season and doris's appearances less present was kinda sad)
-left us at the BIGGEST cliffhanger (katie having another kid when she didn't want more kids, taylor+trip and anna kat+franklin engagement, and oliver going back on his lifelong plan of going to harvard)
there's probably more that i'm forgetting to add to this list but im STILL UPSET ABOUT THIS EVEN THO ITS BEEN TWO YEARS

American Housewife, but it’s a season 6 continuation fanfic where it heavily focuses on Oliver and his relationships (His family, Cooper, etc). But it’s a plot line solely based off of images I found on TikTok.
Tumblr media
I’d personally enjoy to see Oliver to be one of the people to call Katie out on her bullshit, especially after a scene where Katie makes something that Oliver did about herself. Like how she jumps to conclusions about the other mothers (“it looks like she’s not wearing a bra” and the “Big Katie” shit).
Tumblr media
He’s the least favorite child, but also the child that can get away with the most stuff because he isn’t focused on often enough by the parents. It’s always “Taylor this” or “Anna-Kat that” and whenever it’s about Oliver it’s about him borderline trying to leave the family. He’s obsessed with earning money and getting rich so that he isn’t stuck in that house any more.
Cooper seems like he’d serve a supporting role, a middle ground, to Oliver and his relationships with his family. Cooper didn’t have good parents, but the Otto’s are the best family he has—while Oliver literally stated (as a joke for the show, but I love twisting words) he opens all the important mail for his real family. Katie cares about her family, but Oliver, the teenager he is, wouldn’t believe that even if you strapped him down to a chair. Cooper, however, would. Cooper knows what it’s like to have inattentive parents, and the longer he’d live at the Otto’s house the easier he’d be able to come to terms with that.
This feels like it would all be pre-relationship (I love pining, I’m sorry).
Tumblr media
Cooper, apart from Taylor, would be the most likely person to understand loving and hating their parents at the same time. Oliver, who very much admitted to Taylor about only calling Cooper about something after he finishes crying about something, would very much be stubborn about admitting anything. So it’d be a lot of pushing and pulling, and probably a terrible situation to get to the point of Oliver talking about anything to anyone, even Cooper.
Tumblr media
A heart to heart with Katie and Taylor (and Anna-Kat if needed). Of course, this wouldn’t be very Oliver centric, but I believe Oliver would have been the one to start that conversation in the first place.
This would most likely take place near the ending chapters.

Loved
Fandom: American Housewife
Pairing(s): Katie-centric story
Words: 984
Rating: E
Warnings: none
Summary: a reflection on Katie Otto's love
Requested by: @americanhousewifeottofamily
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
Katie Otto was a lot of things: a mom, wife, party planner, chief, chauffeur, and so much more but most importantly she was a lover.
Taylor was in her rebellious teen years where she wanted to hide away from the world because no one understood her but that was far from the truth; Katie understood her. Katie understood why Taylor pushed her away, why Taylor cried randomly over seemingly nothing, why Taylor NEEDED the newest shirt from some popular store that she would wear for a week then end up on the floor, why Taylor was joining every club, sport, activity, Katie understood. No matter how hard Taylor pushed Katie away, Katie would always be there. So when Taylor came home hiding tears while running to her room, Katie opened up the cabinet and grabbed the secret stash full of Taylor’s favorite candy. She knocked on the door and slid the candy underneath the door with a little sticky note that said, ‘I am here for you, I love you’ and Taylor felt loved.
Oliver thought he was some emotionless boy who was too tough for the world, but Katie knew what was hiding underneath the tough boy persona, fear. She saw the fear of failure when Oliver would stay up all night studying mumbling how he has to get an A. She saw the fear of the future when he would create plan followed by backup plan after backup plan after backup plan. She saw the fear of not being good enough when he would join every after-school club and student government, volunteer, job and Katie would be there for everyone. Too many times has she could Oliver passed out at the dinner table late at night while everyone slept surrounded by bake sale flyers. So Katie would gently wake an exhausted Oliver and help him to bed then get to work on dozens and dozens of cookies. Oliver would wake up in a panic and start to plan how he would run to the market and buy cookies, but he would soon realize that he wouldn’t have to. On the counter was a huge tray of cookies with a note that says, ‘get some sleep, I love you.” And Oliver felt loved.
Cooper was put on this earth to teach Katie something, she didn’t know what it was yet, but she was sure it was patience. When Cooper would come over, Katie would notice he would intently watch her cook and prepare food. Katie started to notice pretty early but didn’t say anything, instead she would act like she needed help with cutting the onions or sautéing the mushrooms. Soon enough, she was giving him cooking lessons almost every other night. Katie found a free cooking course at the local culinary school and surprised Cooper with them, he asked her if she would go with him to the first couple. When she agreed, Cooper gave her a rib-crushing hug and let out a heavy sigh he didn’t know he was holding in. She hugged back and said a ‘love you kiddo’ and Cooper felt loved.
Anna-Kat was an open book for Katie, sometimes too open. When Katie asked how her day went, Anna-kat would tell Katie how the teacher talked like a robot then how Jeremy put glue on his lips then Celia threw up on her desk then how she was on the swing all recess and she was SO close to swinging the whole way around then what pizza she ate for lunch. And this would go on until Anna-Kat had told Katie every single second of her day and Katie would just listen. When Anna-Kat came up with a new game or new pretend world and assigned Katie her role, Katie would play along with great theatrics. The way Anna-Kat’s face would light up as Katie got into her role made wearing a fake mustache worth it. Katie would play pretend until Anna-Kat started to yawn, and her eyes grew heavy then Katie would pick her up and carry her to her room. They would pick out the perfect pajamas for whatever character Anna-Kat was still playing and tuck her in. Katie would lean down and give a gentle kiss to her forehead and whisper, ‘had so much fun today, Officer Sprinkles, we will catch the guy tomorrow, I love you’ and Anna-Kat would fall asleep with a smile on her face because she felt loved.
As she changed and cleaned the room up for bed, Greg would go on and on about what piece of history he got inspiration from to write a new book and what chapter 15 would be called and who would be a special feature in the book and Katie was starting to realize who Anna-Kat got her rambling from. He would tell Katie everything and Katie would just listen till he wore both down and they would share a kiss and a ‘good night’. Katie would be the one to say ‘I love you’ first and Greg would feel loved as he drifted asleep.
Katie’s friends would tell her that she does too much for her family and they give nothing in return. Katie doesn’t blame them for thinking that because she does tell them how Taylor will slowly open her door after the candy is slipped under the door and tell Katie everything and ask for her advice. How Oliver will race home and excitably tell Katie how he is the first SGA president to raise over $1,000 and how much he loves her. How Cooper will notice when she is tired and would offer to cook what new recipe he learned. How Anna-Kat would let Katie win at the games that were originally rigged for Anna-Kat. Or how Greg would ask about her day and be the first one to say ‘I love you’ in the morning. Katie Otto is loved.

saw your fav episodes list and now i’m curious… what are your least favorite american housewife episodes?
⚠️SPOILERS FOR AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE IF YOU HAVENT SEEN THE SHOW ⚠️
Any of the episodes where Greg or Katie’s parents came lol. They almost always come on a holiday and they were annoying every time. I thought as the seasons went on Katie’s mom would have more growth as a character but she didn’t. She kinda fixed it by the end of the episode she was in then the next time we see her it’s like she learned nothing.
Also any episode with Oliver with a one of his girlfriends since I didn’t like any of them beside Brie since she seemed super nice and actually had a semi lasting relationship with Oliver.
But the worst girlfriend by far is Gina. She was forcing her morals and ways of living onto him. Guilt tripping him if he ever had a different opinion than hers. And judging more wealthier people (especially Cooper) just off general public perception and not on how they actually are as people. It made me so mad how she was being so rude to Coop when cooper was nothing but nice to her. And it hurt even more when Oliver took her side and Cooper made amends with Gina just for her to betray Oliver and leave him for the scholarship. (That they promised each other they wouldn’t take if they both didn’t get in🙄)
To summarize I hate Katie and Greg’s parents and I hate Gina over every one else 😂.
