Yes.

It's prob the only ship I care about in rise. I like to believe if the show had like 7 seasons then this is where we'd end up. Casey/April is a TMNT classic. And rise's version is enemies to lovers + GAY? My recipe for an OTP.

Having said that, I am a little weary of capril in the fandom simply bc Casey is a VERY underrated character, and I HARDLY see her but when I do, it's shipping art/fics (I will say this is changing). But I fear sometimes that people only like her to ship but don't care outside of her being with april. The fandom hasn't even scratched the surface with casey's character post show/movie and I'm more interested in exploring that rn than the romantic side of things.

This isn't the kind of post I would normally make but I just want to put out there about how much I adore the concept of the og ada trio?? I really want to know more about what their dynamic was like since they were the first three members of the agency. I think Kunikida probably joined the agency sometime after Yosano so I feel like his backstory has to be linked with them including how he met Fukuzawa.

I feel like it's pretty interesting that Kunikida trained under Fukuzawa, and a fact that's overlooked by many because I doubt Fukuzawa took any other students under him. So I'm really curious about what was the situation that brought them together.

I wish we get to see Kunikida's backstory this year. I feel like it's been kept in the dark for the longest time (including Tanizaki's and the recent brief background for Kenji) and I would literally die for some og ada crumbs. I really wish the next light novel could be about them 🥲🥲 Something like another flashback, or retelling as the format has been in most of the light novels. There are also these two wonderful official arts that exist (the first one literally looks like an old photograph with the year (?) written below, the kind of photograph Fukuzawa would have framed in his office :')) so you can't tell me the idea isn't there.

it's also interesting the singular time kendall does want shiv as an ally -- when he's trying to destroy his dad via social justice.

he tells her as much ("you're the one i want, shiv"), and he's even willing to sideline roman for it (letting her choose whether to invite roman up to join them, not even clear if he called roman even though he called shiv ("shivvy shivvy shivvyyyyy")). this is a bit of a role reversal, as it's usually shiv who is sidelined in favor of roman.

so it begs the question -- why? why is he so eager to have shiv as an ally here, and not in CEO/COO talks? maybe because to him it's only about the endgame, and not how he gets there. at other points in the show, he's willing to go with roman and keep the company traditional, but in this situation, his angle could be to 're-invent' it and make it a more ethical climate (supposedly) with shiv. it doesn't matter, as long as he gets there. he wants shiv because he is aware, even if only on a subconscious level, that shiv is overlooked on account of being a woman. he knows she is a victim of the company (and their dad), so of course he needs her for his allegedly-feminist fight against his father. he pretends not to see her struggle at any other point, but now he cares, because it would useful. he's already rounded up every woman in his life into literally one apartment (rava, naomi, his lawyer, jess, the two female media reps who want to represent him). shiv is the last, and arguably most important, leg.

i think it also shows that he actually is aware that shiv is competent; all of his "lack of company experience" talk ceases to matter in this context -- because when he's offering her to join him, he is also kind of offering waystar further down the line, which, along with fucking over dad, could be part of the appeal for her. overthrowing their father is obviously not actually about protecting victims of sexual harassment but about gaining power over their dad, who fucked up the "higher-status siblings" over in particular by dangling this meat in front of them (shiv is fresh off that wound in season 3, so kendall's offer of revenge probably sounds incredible, even if she doesn't want to admit it). were shiv to ally herself with him, it's the first, and maybe only, moment where you can ponder (hesitantly, briefly) a CEO/COO future with them

I have an interview tomorrow for a position that's above my pay grade. Being interview by a person who was previously a Deloitte consulting leader in life science. And I'm shitting my pants.

I've thought about canceling the interview out of nerves even without trying for it. And I know some people are more like "well I made it past the HR screen so I deserve it and I'll take up space and time, what's the worst that they can say". And I wish I was like that. Taking up space. Not caring how I appeared. But I am worried about being embarassed at and after the interview. Not being able to answer questions since my work experience is only tangential....

like if that's the case then it is that's their fault for not screening lmao. I made it through. And yet here I am, with a pit in my stomach.
