growing up nonwhite in america is just like *your white friends don’t do this* *your white friends have never heard of your favorite food* *your white friends think the way you celebrate this holiday is weird* *your white friends still don’t pronounce your last name right even though it’s been literal years* *your white friends
#psychic damage#look i love being japanese i wouldn’t change that#but it’s isolating sometimes#i remember so clearly being like six and going over to my white friend’s house#and her mom gave us snacks and we were sitting down at the table#and like i always do before eating with someone else i said itadakimasu#and she looked at me like i was having a stroke#and i was like “i was just saying itadakimasu”#because i thought it was a thing everyone did#and she was like “what’s an itadakimasu”#and i just felt very different#i think that was the first time i realized that none of my friends are like me#and that there’ll always be that difference#like it’s cool but still ya know#i wish i knew like one other japanese person that would be really cool#for those of you who don’t know what itadakimasu is— it’s something you say before a meal#it doesn’t really have a direct english translation#but roughly it’s like “hey thanks for making this it looks cool. i’m gonna eat it now :)”#not exactly but that’s the closest i can get because the food culture doesn’t transfer over very well#it’s pronounced “ee-tah-dah-kee-mah-s” by the way#the “u” at the end is silent because japanese is a syllable-based language and it’s using the character for “su” (like in sushi)#even though the sound is just a “s”

Hi there! This is based on a RP I did with a Ranpo ai but I would like to request the agency members (Dazai, Atsushi, Ranpo and Fukuzawa) reactions and interactions with a young child genius reader. Gender neutral and platonic, reader is about 12-years old and their main area of expertise is languages though they're plenty smart in other areas. And could you have Ranpo call them my little rose? It's not super important but it's what the ai called them throughout the rp and i thought it was really cute.
𝐃𝐀𝐙𝐀𝐈, 𝐅𝐔𝐊𝐔𝐙𝐀𝐖𝐀, 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐏𝐎 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐀𝐓𝐒𝐔𝐒𝐇𝐈 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐀 𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐃 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐔𝐒! 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐍
𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓(𝒔): Dazai Osamu, Ranpo Edogawa, Atsushi Nakajima, Fukuzawa Yukichi
𝑾𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈(𝒔): --
𝑨/𝑵: I rlly love how creative you guys are with these requests, especially since I love to take requests. Btw, you are 12 years old in this.
𝑺𝒚𝒏𝒐𝒑𝒔𝒊𝒔: The title explains it all...
𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐏𝐎 𝐄𝐃𝐎𝐆𝐀𝐖𝐀 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐀 𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐃 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐔𝐒! 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐁𝐄 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄:
"Who are you, Little Rose?" Ranpo asked. The kid with [Hair Color] hair stares at him, trying to trust the guy in front of him. They backed away from him and held onto the stuffed bunny their late parents gave to him/her on their 8th birthday. He knew that they were scared, so he comforted them by holding out his hand to the small one and telling them,
"I'm not going to do anything to you." After seeing his hand out. It reminded you of your dad. Without hesitation, they grabbed his hand and shook it before introducing themselves. Before a small smile appears on his lips, and told them, "Ranpo Edogawa."
When Ranpo first met you, he was reminded of his past as a kid
He wishes to take care of you like an actual dad would for his child
Loves to hear stories from your past
100% CHANCE HE'LL SHARE HIS SNACKS WITH THEM
Takes [Name] on all his missions so they could help solve any case
In no time, You'll be Ranpo's twin
Sometimes, he spends his free time taking [Name] to the park and getting ice cream
"I'll protect you no matter what, Little Rose!"
𝐀𝐓𝐒𝐔𝐒𝐇 𝐍𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐉𝐈𝐌𝐀 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐀 𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐃 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐔𝐒! 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐃𝐄:
"So, you're looking for a dog?"
"Mhm, and I think he's over THERE!" They point, going to where the dog might possibly at. Atsushi had followed the little 12 year old kid fin and pick up the cute little mammal in their hands with a big smile. Then they said, "Caught it!" While the detective stares at her in shock. He then compared them to Ranpo, who was also a total genius as well. Next thing he knew, he asked them if they could come along with him. At first, they were being resistant, but it took him a while to convince them to be with the Detective Agency.
He and Kyoka starts to keep their eyes on [Name]
Takes life-threatening hits and/or injuries just to protect them
Tries his best to comfort [Name] if they were to cry (ALWAYS ENDS UP CRYING WITH THEM, SOMETIMES)
Loves carrying them around on his shoulders
During freetime, he would love to go out with both Kyoka and [Name], going to a carnival together.
𝐅𝐔𝐊𝐔𝐙𝐀𝐖𝐀 𝐘𝐔𝐊𝐈𝐂𝐇𝐈 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐀 𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐃 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐔𝐒! 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐃𝐄:
Both Fukuzawa and [Name] stares at one another, as the little kid's eyes was filled with sparkles. Fukuzawa had recently saved them from an abusive caretaker.
"You're so cool, mister!" They finally said.
He didn't say not one thing to them, but just blankly stares at them before finally putting a hand on their soft head and petting it like a dog. "Join the Detective Agency..." For a while, they thought about it and agreed.
Doesn't let [Name] go on extremely dangerous mission, but they go anyways behind his back
[Name] loves getting affection for Fukuzawa
The two sit in his office and eat some desserts together in peace
Only person that [Name] feels comfy with (besides Atsushi, Junichiro, Ranpo and Kyoka)
Brings her some japanese snacks after a mission
𝐎𝐒𝐀𝐌 𝐃𝐀𝐙𝐀𝐈 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐀 𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐃 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐔𝐒! 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐃𝐄:
"Leave me alone." Said [Name] running away, since they were afraid of the bandaged freak.
His mouth is wide opened, before chasing after them. Even though he was suicidal, he wanted to show this little kid that e was kind and friendly.
Tries putting a smile on their face
Comforts them
During their freetime, Dazai would love to sit outside with them
It takes them a lot of time to actually get along

ok well now im curious what wolf game is I tried googling it and i dont know what to look for
ok ok so this is a japanese mobile game and I dont think it has an official english translation? This is the japanese name if you want to google more about it! 狼ゲーム
it's another one of those death games/escape games/puzzle solving games. Think of danganronpa or your turn to die for example!
a bunch of people are like gathered in a building. and each of them have to draw a card. You either get the wolf card or the sheep card. The person who draws the wolf card has to kill someone, and the rest of the sheep have to correctly identify the wolf and have them executed. It's basically the werewolf or mafia game (or like town of salem if you don't know what the other two are!)
The character designs are SO cool and I adore the art style. I actually played a bit of it but I had no idea what was happening since it's a japanese game but I did manage to somehow bullshit my way to the first execution. but I decided I would stop and wait for an english translation to actually appreciate it more. and that was a few years ago AGMHDSKFJMHSDF
there is a tumblr and a twitter for translating it but I'd also just like to play it for myself. so im making this hyperfixation harder for myself.
can YOU spot which character is the most popular and is the only one who gets fanart? (/lh /j)
jokes aside Rintarou and Chie are the characters that made me want to get into this game! i mean look at them...
so yeah. usually I would recommend the hell out of my favorite things but this is a harder one to get into because of the language barrier. I still think more people should know about it but I don't really know how to sell people on something they might not be able to understand. still I'm obsessed with these character designs and I wish I knew more about them other than their names
#狼ゲーム#狼ゲーム wolf game#wolf game#moth speaks#ask#anonymous#iida rintarou#komiya chie#thank you for asking about this#i love finding excuses to talk about things i like#wish i could learn more about this#maybe i should check out the translation tumblr#hmm

June 4th- Tokyo Tower and Kabuki Theatre
What a day! Today was arguably a day in Japan. I think I could’ve hit someone with a bat by the end of the day. It started off fantastic! We got to wake up later, I got to talk to my boyfriend, and I got a 100 on the quiz! The Kabuki play seemed really cool, so I was pretty excited for the show tonight. Our first stop was lunch by Tokyo Tower. A bunch of us got Japanese curry, and it was pretty good. The Tower itself was pretty underwhelming honestly, but Chelsea and I did this VR thing where it felt like we were bungee jumping off of it, and that was pretty cool. I’m a little scared of heights, and when we took the outside stairs down, my knees buckled a little. When we got down and started heading to Ginza, I was super excited to see the luxury stores. I love Dior, so I knew I wanted to stop there. We had an hour, and Casey and Chelsea were raving about this special perfume place, so I walked with them to it. It had a line, and it smelled amazing. I don’t have a perfume, so I decided to stick with them to see if I liked any. Oh boy. I liked all of them. I ended up getting one, and it was pretty expensive. The lady took forever checking us out, and we had to go to a separate spot to get our tax refunded. We ran to the tax place but couldn’t find it, and we were already 3 minutes late to meet the group, so Casey and I had to swallow $20 and go to the meeting spot. The tax refund shop closed at 8:30, I thought we could make it back. We didn’t. The Kabuki play started at 4:00. It ended at 8:45. I wish I could say I enjoyed it. I have horrible attention issues, and sitting in a seat listening to a show in a different language for almost 5 hours was my personal hell. The costumes and set were great, but getting told by the usher that I couldn’t slouch really did me in. I wanted to rip out my hair in chucks. The tax refund place closed. We went to McDonalds after, and I devoured it. Sam and I spent the rest of the night watching Saiki K, so I would definitely say we returned to normalcy.
Academic Reflection-
While the reading on Urban Planning was interesting, it wasn’t really my style. Because I am a theatre kid at heart, I loved the Kabuki readings, especially the play. The last act made no sense to someone with little previous Japanese history knowledge, but the first 2 acts were incredible. I don’t think I could ever forgive Gonta, but he did have a great redemption arc. I was a bit sad when he revealed that he was actually a good person even though he sent his wife and son away to be killed. I would’ve let him commit suicide if I was his mother and he asked again for money.
When watching the play, the most interesting part was the fight scene with Kokingo. I’ve seen a lot of fight choreography, but none quite like that. At first I thought it was lazy. The sound effects were off and it was very clear that they weren’t remotely close to hitting each other. But as it went on (and on and on), I grew fond of it. I think a large part of this was because it was one of the only action scenes and no one was speaking Japanese. Assassination is a universal technique. I thought it was funny how the names of the acts of the scripts we read were such spoilers. Act 2 was called “The Death of Kokingo”. The narrator provides much needed context to the story when reading, but I got so tired of his voice by the end of the show. As someone who watches anime on 1.5x speed, he talks too slow for me to pay attention. Anyway, I still enjoyed the plot a lot. It was a very clever show.

Name: Mechakoopa
Debut: Super Mario World
So a very polite anon has humbly requested we write a post about Mechakoopa! They are apparently this person's favorite, so today's their lucky day! See I don't like to brag but, I'd definitely consider myself as part of the top 100 most qualified people to talk about Mechakoopas in the world! And who am I to turn down such a request?
Now the 90s you see, were a turning point for good Mr. Bowser here. With a brand new clown-helicopter thing to pilot around you might think he's all set, but what kind of self-respecting villain would he be without filling his evil lair with a number of Evil Wind-up Toys based on himself? So he does exactly that- a whole fourteen years before Mario stole his idea, mind you!
Yes, you read that right! Despite their name, Mechakoopas are tiny mechanical versions of Big Bowser himself, not just any run of the mill Koopa, which explains their green heads and funky hair! You know how Koopa is actually Bowser's Japanese name? Yeah! They could've localized them as Mecha-Bowsers, but Mechakoopa just flows nicer doesn't it? And he is still technically a Koopa!
"Yo, somebody rang?"
No!! Not you, Mecha-Bowser from Super Mario Sunshine (2002)!! You'll get your turn eventually! Geez! Anyway. Where was I. Oh! Yes!
This is the obligatory part of the post where I'm like “Get a load of this funky guy”! Get a load of this funky guy! Instead of reinterpreting Bowser’s design very literally in toy form, the Mechakoopa is very much its own beast, with its funny beak and little funny legs. Our aforementioned anon mentioned the wind-up key, and oh, what a wind-up key it is! And of course the raisin d’eclair- the fantastic little googly eyes! Oh where would we be without those googly eyes?
Naturally though, Bowser doesn’t just use his toys to populate his spooky castle- he always has to keep a few on his person! So he chucks them at you in the game’s final boss fight, but he didn’t account for the fact that, in this game only, Mario can throw upwards! Oh no! His one weakness! Being pelted with plastic!
By the by, I’ve always thought the original Mechakoopa sprite from Super Mario World looked super funky! The hair almost looks like its on fire! And I like the goofy grin.
The Super Mario World cartoon decided to interpret this sprite by turning him into a horrible little man. No, I don’t want this! He shouldn’t have arms!
The Mechakoopa’s next appearance in a mainline Mario platformer was in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, where they act... exactly the same as they do in Super Mario World! Cool! This basically established them as modern Mario enemies, but there isn’t much to say other than that!
Like all our posts about Common Mario Enemies, it would probably be boring if I just listed off their every appearance, so I will just bring up the ones that are worth mentioning. For example, Super Mario RPG! In this game, Bowser’s strongest special attack is Bowser Crush, which summons a giant Mechakoopa to stop on foes! According to the Player’s Guide, this Mechakoopa was a top secret weapon developed by Koopa researchers... to stomp flowers and scare butterflies! Wow! That is so so evil! These big guys would definitely live up to the name “Mecha-Bowser”!
“Hey guys, are you talking about me?”
NO, we are NOT talking about you, Mecha Bowser (with no hyphen) from Mario Kart: Double Dash (2003)’s Bowser’s Castle course! Get the heck outta here! Gosh, some people just don’t know when they’re not wanted!
I am sure after all this you are wondering, they may be mechanical toys but can they do math? The answer is yes obviously! This is Mechakoopa from Mario Party Advance, and they’re a mathematician! They invented Mechakoopa’s Theorem, the very real mathematical theorem that we all used in school! Everyone give them a round of applause!
I’d like to bring up their appearances in the Mario & Luigi games, not because it’s particularly notable, but because of how much I like their sprite and idle animation! Look at the wind-up key spin around and the eyes go up and down! So cute! Oh, and also because in the Superstar Saga remake they replaced the Mecha-Chomp enemies (may god rest their souls)!
Super Mario Maker 2′s final update was an epic win and a #1 victory royale for Mechakoopa fans anywhere, since it not only added Mechakoopas to all four main game themes, but also two brand new variants: the Blasta Mechakoopa (in red) and the Zappa Mechakoopa (in blue)!
As you might expect, they can Blast (missiles) and Zap (lasers) respectively! I’ve no idea why they added these random functionalities to Mechakoopas specifically, but they’re a lot of fun and some of the most unique projectiles in the game! Zappa? I barely know ‘a!
Oh, and I almost forgot! They are in Super Smash Bros. as well! Bowser Jr.’s moveset is a treasure trove of little references to Mario gadgets, and even though Bowser no longer tosses these guys from his Clown Car, his son has taken up the job! Only in this game, Mechakoopas explode. Uh oh! They didn’t do that before! Still, I really like popping a Mechakoopa out of its Mechakoopa Compartment just to see it wander around the stage. It’s fun!
Now that’s all I have to say about good old Mechakoopas, but I’d like to give a special shoutout to this guy in particular- the Micro Mecha-Bowser, from Super Mario Galaxy! For a long time, I assumed they were just Mechakoopas with a different design... But this definitely looks like a beefed up version of the Mechakoopa, with their big goofy teeth, their pig nose and their funky cross-hair eyes! These dudes can breathe fire too, so they really are more like Bowser! And if there’s a Micro Mecha-Bowser, there’s gotta be a normal one!
“Whassup? I heard somebody call my name!”
Harumph! Nobody called you, Mecha-Bowser from Super Mario Galaxy (2007)’s Toy Time Ga- Er... hold on a second. You actually are exactly the person I was talking about after all! My mistake! Though I do wish you’d at least give us a heads up when you’re gonna show up, given you’re the size of a small planetoid!
Yeah, the Micro Mecha-Bowsers are named after this big robot from Toy Time Galaxy, Mecha-Bowser (not to be confused with Mecha-Bowser or Mecha Bowser)! Though I have to say, there isn’t much family resemblance! He’s so blue and un-turtle like! Still, this must’ve been my favorite mission in Galaxy as a kid- I’d replay it over and over again just because the idea of climbing on a giant planet-sized robot and dismantling it piece by piece was so cool! It was like Shadow of the Colossus before I knew what the heck that was!
Well that’s about the extent of the Mechakoopa family. Isn’t it fun? There’s a moral to be learned here, and it’s that, uh... little wind-up toys are very charming! Um, I suppose. Look, writing conclusions is hard!

No Chance
warnings: none
era: 2020, MAW promotion era
❀ Protective Jaehyun just knows when someone is up to no good
“Could I maybe take you out on a date?” JiHo’s quirked her brow at the sudden question. She was flipping through the photobook of the album she had just received and wasn’t quite sure if what she just heard was real. “Hmm?” She hummed questioningly, urging for the person in front of her to repeat his words.
Noticing JiHo’s expecting gaze the boy lowered his head and raised his hand to scratch the back of his neck. “I mean… It’s just that I really admire you, sunbaenim. So I wondered if maybe we could get something to eat sometime.” He stuttered through his words. “Oh! And I also think you’re very pretty…” The nervous boy added quickly.
Not once did JiHo expect a confession when a newly debuted boy group entered the dressing room of NCT U – JiHo was just visiting ‘Make A Wish’ team during their promotions – to introduce themselves and hand them their first album. Jaehyun had nudged her shoulder when he noticed the, what he called, ‘longing’ stares of some of the rookies when JiHo had complimented their outfits and cheered them on with a friendly – Jaehyun would say ‘too friendly’ – smile. The older boy had told her that even though the new group looked very tired, JiHo couldn’t just be super nice and inviting towards everyone to which JiHo retorted: “I never knew ‘You got this guys!’ was being too nice”.
Now, after hearing the new idol’s unexpected confession JiHo thought back to Jaehyun’s warning, but she still didn’t regret being nice towards the group. After all they did just debut in a pandemic and knowing they were from a very small company she wasn’t too sure about their future. She wished them the best, but the group even told her they weren’t sure if they were going to be able to perform on many other music shows. This time was their first and mayhap their last.
JiHo watched as the rookie idol shifted his weight from one foot to the other. “I’m sorry, you seem like a cool guy, but that doesn’t sound like a good idea.” A sympathetic smile proceeded to form on JiHo’s face. What JiHo didn’t expect was for the boy to try his luck once more. “Maybe if we get to know each other better? We could exchange phone numbers.”
He had already grabbled at his back pocket for his phone but when he looked back at the girl he was met with a raised hand, palm facing him. “Listen, I don’t really want to date anyone either-“ “I’m sorry, we could just get to know each other as friends. You know, I’d also like that. Just friends-“ JiHo’s earlier sympathetic smile faded as she now felt bad for the guy and also slightly put off by him.
The guy stopped talking and JiHo took it as if he finally got the hint and decided to back off. He took a step back, distancing himself from the girl – which was when JiHo noticed how close he had gotten to her – and then bowed in apology. “I’m sorry sunbae, that was completely out off line. I hope you can forgive me.” JiHo shook her head. “It’s okay, let’s just forget about it.” The boy nodded, his eyes seemed to twitch and he then excused himself out of the room.
A deep sigh left JiHo’s lips and she turned her head to her left. “You didn’t have to scare him away, I’m sure he would’ve left any second now.” JiHo explained and let herself fall on the couch, her eyes fell on the album next to her. “How did you know I was here?” Jaehyun asked confused and then joined JiHo on the couch. “That poor boy’s eyes filled with fear, I saw how his eyes were shaking.”
It was silent for a second before Jaehyun started talking. “He wasn’t going to leave by the way. He was so insistent on getting you to agree with him on, well, anything. So you should thank me.” A sarcastic chuckle left JiHo’s lips at the words. “And how would you know?” “Guys can be real creeps. You don’t know how many we have dealt with for you without you knowing. I can recognise them anywhere.”
JiHo sat up in her seat, eyes wider than Jaehyun had ever seen before as she now looked at him. “What? Why didn’t I know about this? When? Where did this happen? How many times? How-“ “Okay JiHo! Calm down first.” Jaehyun and JiHo both turn to the door where they see Taeyong walking in followed by Jaemin and Xiaojun, the other boys entering a few seconds afterwards.
“So it’s true?” Taeyong sighed and walked up to her. “Well, yeah. You’re a girl and have a lot of male fans, that stuff happens. And even though I think it would’ve been better if Jaehyun didn’t tell you about this.” He glared at the younger boy, who, rightfully so, looked a bit flustered. “You know now, but you don’t have to worry about it, the managers, the staff and if necessary, we, the boys, will make sure nothing happens to you and you won’t even know of the existents of those creeps.”
JiHo scoffed in disbelief. “Make sure nothing happens? What are you even talking about? Who’s trying to do what to me?” Jaehyun grabs JiHo by the shoulder. “Nothing. No one is doing anything to you. Just- Just trust me when I say that rookie idol is no good.” JiHo couldn’t wrap her mind around what had been said, but rather than asking more questions – she didn’t even know where to start if she did – she just accepted what her two friends said and let herself fall back on the couch.
“What’s this?” The newest Japanese member, Shotaro, held up a piece of paper he retrieved from the album he noticed placed on the couch. JiHo grabbed it and analysed what was written on it. On it she saw a phone number along with a name. “I hope we can get close in the future” Was scribbled on the other side of the paper.
Jaehyun snatched the piece of paper out of the girl’s hand when he caught sight of the poorly drawn heart on the note. He scoffed before ripping the paper apart. “If someone is going to even try dating you, he should at least be able to draw a simple heart.” JiHo watched the boy slack-jawed. Jaehyun reached his hand out, finger placed on the underside of the girl’s chin and he pushed it up to close her mouth. “And his handwriting sucks. This loser can’t actually think he even has a chance with you.”
---
Side note: I have no clue if there was a rookie group that promoted along side NCT U during MAW era, if so, that’s not the same group as the one mentioned in this writing. This group is completely made up (you might have noticed I also didn’t mention any names) and has absolutely no connection with a real kpop group. The same goes for the rookie idol, he’s completely made up and has no connection to any idol in the real world.

Been trying to think about the news today and it still really doesn’t feel real. Or at least the meaning hasn’t really hit me yet. I’m not sure if or when it will. If I were an artist maybe I get some of what I’m feeling out of my system that way, but I’m not. I’m not much of a writer either, but I’ve seen a few people talk about what Yu-Gi-Oh! meant to them personally and I figure maybe I could try that.
One of the clearest memories of my childhood is of watching the precipice duel- I’d think I’d been casually watching the show for a while up till then, but that’s when it totally changed to me. My parents had routinely been getting me into various sports and extracurriculars that I did not want to be in and that Saturday morning I had a softball game to get to. My dad basically had to drag me out of the house to get me there and I missed the last half of the episode. I remember seeing the rotting BEWD melt around Mokuba in Kaiba’s hallucination and it stuck with me through the entire drizzly game. It had to have been the first time I think I really cared about characters in a piece of media to that extent. And I didn’t have anyone to talk about it with.
I had friends as a kid, but kids can be cruel. I’d learned a few years prior that Pokemon was no longer a safe thing to talk about at school if I wanted to enjoy my recess. It was clear from the get go that Yu-Gi-Oh would fall into the same category. It’s not like I was getting beaten up, but I was a dumb, sensitive kid who was painfully honest. Kindof an easy target. I didn’t have the kinds of friends who would stick up for me for liking something “uncool”. I wished I had Yuugi and his friends. Instead I learned to lie about my interests at school and hoard manga and cards in a cabinet in my room. I’m not sure it was a happy time, but I wouldn’t have given up on Yu-Gi-Oh for the world. It meant so much to me. I loved the characters, the drama, the card game, the lore, the mystery of the millennium items. All of it.
I remember when I started getting access to the internet and learning about how different the show I’d been watching was from its Japanese counterpart. It was so exciting! It was like ‘here’s this thing that I already love, but there’s an entirely different version out there with swears, violence,’ -blackjack, and hookers, you get the idea. It was absolutely tantalizing to a slightly edgy tween. I remember there was a fansite that hosted episode summaries and a forum; I think it also had scans of the GX manga, which had just started coming out in Japan? If anyone knows what it was called, please let me know. I don’t remember the name, just that it had a white, sortof silvery layout. It also had a modest little fanfiction section which I poured over religiously. I hadn’t written any myself, but I had so many ideas. Something about a sprawling mess of a story involving magic and other worlds I think? I don’t remember the details, but it kept my mind occupied through a lot of middle school.
I managed to push my love for the series away for a long time after that. Bits and pieces of it would filter over into my life from time to time and I’d pretend it was meaningless, or ridicule it as that ‘dumb card game show’. I’d push it down and try to forget. It wasn’t till I was at a con back in 2016 walking around with my best friend that I confessed that I’d earnestly loved it. I knew he wouldn’t mock me for it, but god. His quiet affirmation that that was ok, cool even, almost brought me to tears while walking through the dealers hall. I don’t talk with that friend very much these days for complicated reasons, but I don’t think I’ll ever forget that.
I started this blog the following year, in 2017. Since then, it has been an absolutely incredible time to see the amazing outpouring of fanart, comics, fanfiction, meta essays, and love for a series that I had thought I was years late to joining. Even if I’d only vaguely known that there were other people out there who were as deeply affected by this series as I was, I would’ve been happy. To experience what I have since starting this tumblr goes way beyond that. Every day I get to see someone else who's fallen in love with some aspect of the series that I’d never considered, a character examined from a new angle, a piece of art capturing something new about it. It’s so beautiful to me and makes me love the series even more. And it’s so wonderful to not feel alone in that. There is such an incredible community here that I am so glad to be a part of it, even in my own small way..
I’ve since gotten better about being more transparent in my love for the series in real life too and the support I’ve gotten from my friends still takes my breath away. I’ve gotten bold enough to hang a print in my room! My boyfriend got me Pot of Greed earrings for my birthday! I don’t feel like I’m hiding my love in cabinets anymore and I’m not wishing I had some else’s friends. A lot of that has to do with who I am and how I’ve grown up, but I think a lot has to do with you all too- and of course, Kazuki Takashi. I’m so glad to be here with you and I know I wouldn’t have any of that if it weren’t for him.
Thank you so much, Takahashi-sensei, for the gift you have given us and the friends we’ve made through it.

Turns out I really like the idea of Lupin and Jigen having met when they were kids. Thank you Anon for putting that idea into my head!
Jigen is trans in this story, and at this point, he still identifies as a girl, but for clarity’s sake I’m using he/him pronouns.
Yes, Gun Hill Houses is an actual neighborhood in the Bronx.
Reblogs are much appreciated!
---
The sun was setting on the Bronx and on the last day Jigen could spend with his best friend. Lupin didn’t live here, and only God knew when his father’s travels would bring him to New York again. They always made the most of the time they had together, exploring the city, robbing liquor stores, pick-pocketing tourists and getting into fights with the local gangs. These were the best parts of Jigen’s otherwise sorry existence, and they were always over too soon.
For their last few hours together, Jigen had taken his friend to a rooftop in Gun Hill, where there was a nice view on the square below and an even better one on the sunset. To anyone who didn’t know better, this might have almost looked like a date. Jigen didn’t want Lupin to know he thought that.
It was a mystery to Jigen how this strange little foreigner, with his tailored but battered suits and his mischievous grin, with his mysteriously wealthy family and his unfortunately sized ego, had managed to gain his trust so quickly. The two of them were polar opposites, but there was something in Lupin that had drawn Jigen in. Somehow, he felt like this strange boy from beyond the oceans was the only person who could truly understand him.
That didn’t make those words any easier to say, but he had to say them to someone. And the only person who could hear them was Lupin.
“Sometimes… I really wish I was a boy.”
Jigen was kicking his feet over the edge of the rooftop, trying very hard not to look at his friend. The young thief’s attention was turned to him, with an intensity that made him want to squirm. Looking away at least dulled it a bit.
“I mean, of course life would be easier,” Jigen justified himself. “But also… I don’t know. I just… don’t think I’m ever going to be happy as a girl. I wish I could just snap my fingers and change it.”
He was still looking away from his friend. Lupin may be the only person he could open up to, that didn’t mean he didn’t fear his judgement. At least the thief could understand that. Being a girl in the streets of the Bronx wasn’t fun.
“What’s your name?”
Jigen almost fell off the roof in surprise when his friend’s voice rose, candid and enthusiastic. Lupin was looking at him, with a smile on his face – not that lopsided grin that announced trouble to everyone around, but a soft, genuine smile that he reserved for those rare moments when he really meant what he said.
“It’s Suki,” Jigen retorted, “you know that.”
“That’s a girl’s name,” Lupin replied as if that wasn’t obvious. “If you were a boy, what would be your name?”
Jigen stared at the young thief in utter bafflement. He was serious, he realised. Perfectly honest in his enquiry, as if this was a normal thing to ask. A normal reaction to the confession Jigen had just given him.
That was probably why he liked Lupin so much.
“I don’t know…” he muttered after a few seconds of reflection. “Daisuke sounds nice.”
“Japanese,” Lupin nodded. “Like your grandparents. A good name.”
He extended a hand to his bewildered friend.
“Nice to meet you, Daisuke. I’m Arsène.”
Jigen had no other choice but to gingerly take the thief’s hand and shake it, acting on autopilot as his mind tried to make sense of what was happening. Lupin wasn’t berating him, he was even… accepting him? Playing along? That name in Lupin’s voice felt so right, like a puzzle piece fitting itself into the hole in his heart he had been ignoring all these years.
“I’m glad to be friends with a boy as incredible as you.”
And the idea of that feeling right, felt painfully wrong.
Jigen shoved his misplaced euphoria back down his throat and abruptly stood up. Lupin followed suit, but he stayed standing there as his friend took a few steps back.
“You’re crazy,” he spat out. “I’m not a boy, Arsène.”
“You can be. If you want to.”
“That’s not how this works!”
“But what if it is?” the thief insisted. “You could just dress like one, act like one, and people will believe you.”
Jigen angrily gestured at his dirty and patched up skirt.
“I’m not gonna fool anyone. Least of all myself.”
“You might. I mean, look at me. You’d never guess I’m supposed to be a girl.”
Jigen stopped dead in his pacing to turn towards him. Lupin was staring at him with defiance in his eyes, as if daring his friend to prove him wrong.
“You what?”
The thief’s expression softened somewhat, and he sat back down on the roof. He didn’t let go of Jigen’s gaze.
“My real name’s Amélie. But I didn’t like it, and I didn’t like being a girl, so I just…” he snapped his fingers, “changed it.”
“Your father let you do that?”
Lupin shrugged.
“As long as I carry the family legacy, my dad doesn’t care if he has a son or a daughter. So I decided to be his son.” A sharp glint shone in his eye, and his grin was back. “I took Grand-Père’s name. I want to be like him when I grow up. I’m gonna be the best damn thief my family has ever seen, and no one’s going to stop me.” He smiled. “And no one can stop you either.”
Jigen stayed silent for a long time. Lupin didn’t push him, simply looked at him with that soft expression that made Jigen’s heart curl up in shame inside his chest. He didn’t deserve this compassion. But he craved it, and Lupin was too good at tempting him. And Jigen decided he was too weak to resist.
He sat down next to his friend, head bowed down.
“They can, though,” he finally replied. “I already get beat up for being a tomboy. Your dad seems like a cool guy, but mine would kill me if he found out.”
Lupin leaned towards him and put his hand on Jigen’s, sending his heart racing.
“Then it will be our secret. You can be yourself when you’re with me, Daisuke.”
Jigen tried to hide his smile behind a disgusted rictus, but it probably didn’t fool his friend.
“Only call me that when we’re alone, understood?”
The thief grinned.
“When we’re alone, and with people who don’t know you.”
“With people who don’t know me, only when I do look like a boy.”
“Deal!”
Lupin punched his friend’s shoulder, and Jigen punched him in the stomach in retaliation.
“You have a terrible influence on me, you know that?”
“Says the guy who’s training to be a mobster.”
“Shut up.”
That was why he liked Lupin so much, Jigen thought as they sat there and watched the sunset. With him, he didn’t have to hide.
#jigen be lying if he said he ain't got a lil crush on his weird foreigner friend#these boys are adorable and i hope i'll have more ideas to write about them#actually you know what if y'all have prompts for them please send them my way#for lupin and jigen but also the rest of the gang and zenigata#which reminds me i need to come up with headcanons for fuji and for zeni#the hobbit writes#lupin iii#lupin the third#jigen#daisuke jigen#jiglup#lupin iii childhood au

Yamaguchi Tadashi x Really Sexy Yoga Instructor S/O
———————————
A/N: Thank you so much anon! You’re speaking my language with this request😍
It sounds a lot like the first ever request I got here, so this can be seen as a part two, or read as a stand alone. I hope you like it!!!
Not NSFW, but please only read if you’re over 18 y/o.
———————————
Yams, your beloved boyfriend of a few months will be the first to admit that he made a mistake volunteering you to help his volleyball team
About a month ago, Coach Ukai felt as though the team was way too pent up and ordered his players to indulge in some calming activities on one of the no-practice days with the goal of making the team less irritable
The coach found that Yoga would be a great solution
Coach Ukai had read that the benefits of Yoga include but are not limited to: increased flexibility, increased muscle strength and tone, improved respiration, more energy and vitality, maintenance of a balanced metabolism, improved athletic performance, protection from injury, overall relaxation and stress relief.
Ukai thought that yoga was a no-brainer because if Karasuno was going to win the National tournament, then they had to adopt unconventional means in order to get an edge on the competition
Unfortunately, Takeda, the volleyball club’s advisor, couldn’t exactly find the budget to get the entire team signed up for weekly yoga sessions at the big studio downtown
Aw man :(
But fear not! smh
Your boyfriend to the team’s rescue! Great 😑
Thank goodness for your sweet baby 👍🏾 not
He’s just too caring for his own good isn’t he? You wish he’d stop
Because he..... well, lucky for Karasuno, your boyfriend Yamaguchi happily suggested that the team goes to the Karasuno High School’s Yoga Club sessions at the local community centre. The community centre hosts great swim, cooking, and even archery lessons! It would be perfect because it would be within budget and the 7am yoga sessions were always empty, because not many people knew about them.
“How do you know they’re legit? I don’t want my players getting hurt because some kids think it’s fun to twist n’ contort their bodies —“ Inquired coach Ukai. The entire team turned to Tadashi, awaiting his response.
Your annoying sweet man explained that all of the Yoga club members are certified by Japanese Health Standards and they are well-versed in their instructing, it was kind of the point of the club. He was sure the club would love the volleyball team’s company
Your boyfriends’ coach’s face lit up. When Ukai’s next question pertained to how tf Tadashi knew all of this, that’s finally when his face fell
Oops.
He’s so cute He wanted to help so badly he forgot that this could be a bad idea
How did he know all this? Well, maybe because his girlfriend of 3 months, you, run the damn club. And he knows everything about you because he’s whipped.
However, Tadashi couldn’t exactly tell them that was the reason because he is very private and didn’t want to introduce his beautiful girlfriend to guys that were sure to drool over her
Plus he wanted to make sure you weren’t in a daze when he confessed to you, testing whether one day you’ll wake up & realize you made a big mistake
Yamaguchi, quick on his feet, just said that you were his friend and you ran the club.
They believed it obviously, and that’s how it all started
Since there were multiple morning Yoga sessions, Coach Ukai divided the team into years for mandatory session attendance. The first years were scheduled for Monday’s at 7am, the second years on Wednesday’s (same time) and the 3rd years were on Fridays (same time).
You were late to your first session with the boys because even though Yams told you the team would start coming (and to keep your relationship a secret) you were used to being the only one here doing Yoga
You were only slightly startled when you opened the door to your beloved studio and saw Karasuno volleyball’s first years: Tsukishima, Kageyama, Hinata and your beautiful man Yams sitting down on Yoga mats patiently.
You cheerily introduced yourself and greet everyone, finding yourself happy to have the company
Yamaguchi was the only one to verbally greet you back, because the other boys were staring at you with what you would deem odd expressions
Yams noticed his solo greeting too and looked over to his teammates. He frowned because he knew the look on their faces and the lack of a voice very well.
How could he not? It was the same reaction he had when he saw you for the first time he was sure you came out of his wet dreams
You are so hot, and now his fellow first years were noticing
Yams pouted inside
Anyway, the same way you didn’t notice when Yamaguchi had that stare when you two met, you just got straight to business, setting down your pink yoga mat and water bottle and explaining all the rules.
It’s a good thing yoga sessions are supposed to be silent with only the sounds of the rain forest playing loud through the rooms speakers because I don’t think the boys could have spoken anyway
You did basic yoga stretches and had the boys follow your every movement
As you showed them the simple beginner poses, Tadashi caught Hinata and Kageyama sneaking glances at your figure with heavy blushes on their faces
If Tsukki thought you were attractive, which omfg did he ever, he didn’t show it in the slightest
Yamaguchi was happy to call him his best friend
The quick-attack boys could not say the same
Like the schoolboys they are, they relished in seeing a gorgeous female’s flexible body easily contort in front of them
Tadashi noted that, for two of the most intensely competitive people he knew, the two were peculiarly a little TOO happy with not doing any of the yoga poses correctly, he could guess why
You, still clueless, walked around the room to help the boys get into correct positioning platonically, the way every Yoga instructor does.
Tadashi on the other hand, was doing so well and you badly wished you could kiss him whenever you moved his body but you were respecting his wishes to keep you two a secret
Kags and Shōyō almost had internal panic attacks when you touched them or got close
They weren’t the greatest with girls but they were especially bad when one of the prettiest and fittest girls they’ve ever encountered was touching them and whispering in their ears to ‘turn like this’ ‘open up a bit more’ because of how quiet yoga should be
The combustion train has left the building! Choo choo 💨
You laughed when volleyball duo boys started shoving each other when Hinata fell out of a pose and landed on Kags
Tadashi’s eyes narrowed because he selfishly didn’t want you laughing at anything those boys did. Nevertheless, he shook it off
Maybe it will get better once the initial shock of your hotness wears off, Yams thought to himself when he left Yoga that morning.
Sure, because that’s how it worked with Kiyoko right?
Yeah, right. The following Monday you were still hot and the boys were still drooling over you.
At real volleyball practices and at lunch time Yamaguchi has to constantly hear the team (minus Tsukishima) gush about how attractive you are and how it wasn’t so bad waking up early in the morning if you were the view they were getting up to see
Now, Tadashi would definitely describe himself as a pretty calm guy......as would anyone who knows him......
But hearing his friends gush about you like you weren’t the smartest, most creative, genuine, conscientious person...... just an ideal body and gorgeous face not that they would know evoked jealous emotions deep within him
On dates with you he would inquire about the other volleyball yoga sessions you taught and you would tell him truthfully that your class of 3rd years were always fine, well behaved and very quiet because they were too busy fantasizing about you in their heads to talk dkm
and then you told your boyfriend that 2 of the second years were pretty flirty take a wild guess who? But that the one boy named Ennoshita got them to simmer down and then stop with the comments completely
Tadashi made a mental note to do a favour for his future captain
He was beginning to get irritated with the way these strong amazing athletes that he looked up to were reduced to goo when his girlfriend came around
He knew it was irrational to be so upset because he was sure they would chill out if they knew she was his girlfriend but
He just wasn’t ready for that yet.
So he endured the comments because even though the team was full of hormonone-crazy males, they never were vulgar or disrespectful in their remarks that was saved for all of their dreams and shower time
Either way,
None of that could stop the locker room talk.
“Did Y/N teach you guys the puppy dog stretch too this week?” Chirped Nishinoya as he bounced on the balls of his feet. The boys nodded. “Man is she s-m-o-k-i-n-g or what?? Don’t you think so, Asahi?”
Yams looked over from his locker to see the quiet and timid Ace of the team unable to help sporting a blush and nodding in agreement to Nishinoya.
Tadashi did NOT like this conversation. He took to chugging his water in order to distract himself from saying something he was sure to regret
“I-I really like Y/N’s yoga pants. They’re really cool!”
Kageyama rolled his eyes at Hinata's comment. “Of course you do, Boke.”
“Keep dreaming short stack!” Hollered Tanaka as he hopped in a super man pose on top of a bench. “For I will one day marry Y/N!”
Uncontrollably, Yamaguchi’s entire liquid contents in his mouth drenched Sugawara’s back in a spit take. Everyone laughed.
Let’s just say Karasuno’s vice captain made Yams do laps until his legs felt like they would fall off
By the third week, poor Yamaguchi had it up to HERE with the team’s pining after his girl.... be it Daichi’s subtle suggestion to the coach to extend AND increase the amount of yoga sessions, to Nishinoya’s memorization of the exact colour of your lip gloss per session
Yams actually growled under his breath when he heard both I swear to God
Yamaguchi felt like he was going to burst if he didn’t wring any necks first .
The entire team was smitten with his secret girlfriend and it made him insanely jealous. He couldn’t deny it anymore.
You were his. And only his. He wished he never volunteered you to help the team in the first place!
On your dates as a couple, you noticed that Yams was much more tense than he used to be before you started instructing the team. You told him over and over that you would quit this very second because he was so much more important than some silly club. You even suggested easily swapping with your second-in-command as instructor but
He wouldn’t have any of that. Apparently the team was already improving significantly in skill from Yoga like the Coach predicted. You are the best instructor your club had, and his team needed the best.
Plus he knows you love doing it and he puts your happiness before his own
The situation just sucked!
On the final yoga session before nationals, you arranged for the entire team to conjoin in one single morning session that would be longer at two hours instead of one, to go through everything they have learned in a mass session. It was also to make sure the numbers were even because today would be strictly focused on Partner Yoga!
The crows filed in to your studio, excited to see you and set up as usual
You walked in and told them about the partner yoga, and before they could volunteer to be your partner and upset your boyfriend, you told everyone you already had a partner and gestured toward the studio entryway:
Kiyoko walked in with a wave at her introduction and she spread her yoga mat next to you facing the class
They said 😳😳😳😳🤯🤯🤯🤯
The entire room was silent. Everyone minus Tsukki and your boyfriend combusted. Like they were done
Remember that combustion train? Yeah it just arrived at its destination: Nosebleed Central.
The boys’ little minds couldn’t fathom two extremely hot girls in compromising, stretchy positions that would look anything but innocent in their male minds
It was kind of a dream come true
You didn’t care that they were acting weird and you started the session, telling the boys to pair up and follow yours and Kiyoko’s lead
Even Yams started to feel hot and bothered at the sight of the multiple positions
he always felt horny watching you instruct yoga but he was able to satiate his lust by reminding himself that you told him you want to sleep with him when he was ready, even though you were taking it slow. he’s always blushing so none of the guys ever thought anything if it
Satiating himself with that thought again, though, flew out the window as an option because you just looked too incredibly hot in partner positions. It got to the point where he wanted to kick Kiyoko out so you could practice these yoga positions with him
He wanted to be the one to put your leg on his shoulder as he pounded into your heat, not Kiyoko no matter how hottttttttt it was to look at
Suga used his fingers to flick Tadashi on the forehead to get his attention away from his secret girlfriend and back to the yoga positions he should be trying with him
“Dude.... trust me, I know, and I agree...” Suga nods in understanding as he glances over at the beautiful girls once more. It takes a good amount of effort for him to peel his eyes back to Yamaguchi. “But we have to do this. Try to pretend they’re not as hot as they are.” He gives your bf a thumbs up for encouragement
Yams didn’t smile back even though he commenced yoga again like his vice captain requested. Yams just wanted all of this to be over so he could somehow sneak you into one of the abandoned rooms in this community centre and take you right there.
Since Kiyoko was only there to demonstrate the positions and not join the class because she had other commitments, she had to leave pretty early
You went around helping everyone like you usually did, and now you definitely noticed how red all the boys’ cheeks were. Yams couldn’t even look at you the entire time he did yoga with Suga and you started to wonder if you did something wrong. Hm.....
Yams couldn’t look at you because he was using every ounce of his restraint to keep from jumping your bones
Before long, Y/N’s final yoga session was nearing completion until you realized that you had forgotten to demonstrate the final pose when Kiyoko was here.
Glancing at your boyfriend who was giving you the cold shoulder, you timidly asked if anyone minded being your partner to demonstrate—
Like zoo animals, all of the boys volunteered!!! You yelped because of how loud they got in the quiet room in a split second.
Does it matter who you choose?
Yamaguchi felt himself boil over in jealousy. These boys were throwing themselves at the woman who means everything to him, and that was enough to drive any man to the brink of insanity.
While the boys bickered about who would be your partner Hinata and Nishi already started the Rock Paper Scissors tournament, including the usually collected captains, Tadashi briskly made his way towards you with purpose. Without even thinking about it he cupped your face with one of his hands and tilted your lips towards his for a deep kiss.
You felt your knees weaken at the intensity of the unexpected kiss from the love of your life.
Yams wrapped an arm around your waist to hold you steady when he felt your knees weaken.
You two barely heard the collective gasp in the room...
...Nor did you hear Tsukki mutter a flat “I knew it.”
When you finally pulled away from your boyfriends perfect lips, you were still drunk off the kiss while he remembered where you two were
With an aura of manly confidence that could only come from the overwhelming satisfaction of giving into the animalistic urge to claim your mate in front of other males, Yamaguchi turned to his team. Shoulders back and confident, he smiled smugly
“Did I forget to tell you all that Y/N is my girlfriend? I’d appreciate if all the endless comments about how beautiful she is would cease to exist, at least around me. She’s very much taken. Oh, and I, ONLY I....will be her partner. Thanks.”
Ok can you imagine how fucking sexy shy Yams would look being strict, intimidating and completely territorial over you? 🤤
Karasuno’s team was stunned into silence before Nishinoya started a slow clap applause like they do in the movies.
Only Tanaka joined in with him. The rest of the team is not that lame
You, on the other hand, got so turned on by your boyfriend display of protection and jealousy that you muttered that class was over and you used your hand to turn Yams attention back to you. You got on the tips of your toes to pull him into another passionate kiss again.
You loved it.
Seeing this side of him stirred up a lot of emotions in you and you couldn’t help but ask your boyfriend if he wanted to skip school today. Your parents weren’t going to be home for 2 days and you had the house to yourself.
With half lidded eyes that only served to turn you on more Yamaguchi agreed.
I hope he knows that he was in for a really long and pleasurable day and night.....you were about to put those years of yoga training to good use, and your boyfriend couldn’t be luckier.

Hidden Feelings
Now I am going to tell you one of my secrets about my feelings. It may be a little long.
The reason I created my overseas account was for my only overseas friend.
He said something like "It takes courage to enter a maid cafe", something trivial.
I've told this story several times in the past.
I want to be there for my friend. Or, it would be a shame for someone who feels the same way and can't participate in the Japanese maid culture.
Okay! Let's study English. That was my motivation.
Then I kind of started. I put up my hobby of cosplay and tweeted about Japan. Have you seen my first tweet? I'm so nervous.
As I was doing so, one day, out of the blue, people started to want to support me. Your activities are worth supporting. That is why they asked us to make your wish list public. That person told me to ask others for support, because surely there were others who felt the same way.
To be honest, I was resistant at first. Because even though it is an Amazon list, money is involved, right? I couldn't do any activity that would be worth that price.
But then, the number of such voices grew from one to two, and from two to three.
I don't intend to blame others. Publishing the Amazon listing was my decision after all.
But now I think again, I didn't want the thing, I just wanted to make sure their words were true, how cowardly of me.
For the first time, when the things arrived I cried. I was so happy at the kindness and the fact that it was true, and how despicable I was for doubting and not believing people.
The outfit cost about 50USD and the camera 200USD. I remember I was really happy.
I was really, really happy with the costume, too. I didn't even put on makeup, I just put it on and unveiled it in front of the mirror by myself. The camera honestly surprised me. I still have no idea who the person who sent me the camera was. It was set to private. I don't know his name or address, so I can't send him a gift. I can't say thank you. There is no benefit to the sender. They just sent it for me.
I think I know the value of money better than my generation in Japan. 50USD or 200USD is not cheap at all. I know the value of money, and I know the meaning of their love.
I desperately thought about how I could repay it.
So I decided to do what I can do.
What do you think?
I'm embarrassed to say it myself. I have only been active for two months, but I have come to realize that I am loved by many people and that I have fans who support me. I wonder if it's okay for me to say this (laughs).
I know that many of my followers love sexually explicit posts or use Twitter for that purpose. Oh, don't worry about it at all, okay? I love sexy, cool pictures too. You know what, I actually sneak out and visit everyone's accounts, right? Everyone's account timeline had a lot of RTs from various people, but before I knew it, there were a lot of Rions. To be honest, it's embarrassing, but at the same time it makes me really happy. One day, I'm going to conquer their accounts by filling them with Rion.
But you know, I have over a thousand followers and not even 1% of them say anything obscene to me. They are all awesome gentlemen. Oh, they're thinking about me. I cried when I realized that they were trying to protect me.
But in the midst of all that, there was also pain. I don't blame the person who made me suffer. I'm sure that person had their own circumstances. (I don't intend to get involved, though.)
So I made a locked account to escape. As some of you may have guessed, I don't have parents. I am literally living alone in Tokyo. So I wanted a place to ask for help. I didn't say I'd post more extreme photos on my locked account. I'm saying I'm only going to complain.
And yet we received many requests. I still have about 40 people waiting for me without giving permission.
Why are these people so nice to me? I can't help but think to myself.
But then, leaving my mind like that, people started to act more and more. People who send me lots of messages. People who send me photos. People who look forward to my Tumblr, people who suggest projects to me, people who go around my various social networking sites correcting my English, and people who rely on me. People who keep an eye on the rips sent to me and watch for strange people (lol) People who pay me and have high expectations and love for me. People who give me fan marks.
What are you going to do? I'm going to get carried away. Lol You're going to take responsibility and watch me grow, right? Lol
Am I being helpful to everyone? Am I returning the love? Am I healing everyone? Thank you for all your support. I love you all.

welcome back to puzzles' giant crate of weird yttd theories. today she brings you one she's actually kinda confident in...
alright i've just finished 3-1b (no lmao i started this post a month ago and I'm finally getting back to it today) and i was talking with an irl of mine, and like they lowkey forced me to try and explain why i felt that mr. policeman being joe's dad was important. i'd sort of thought about it a lot before but explaining it to someone who disagreed with me got me thinking, and i reached a WAY COOLER theory. wait for it. wait for it...
What if Keiji's wish was to meet Mr. Policeman's son?
So I know this instantly has some problems. First, I'm gonna present to you why I think this is true. Then, I'm gonna refute the "obvious" counterargument. This'll be fun! Haven't written one of these beasts in a while!
Keiji is the only living candidate whose wish we don't know because Sara didn't know where he was when she used the lantern. Ranmaru was quick to theorize that Keiji wished for Sara to be in the game because of his jealousy and his knowledge from the transceiver and the knowledge he was given as a dummy. Personally, I think at this point he had already used the Joe AI and some of Joe's mistrust of Keiji had waded in, and while that might support my theory later, I don't really have enough evidence to back this up, other than my confidence that he had used the Joe AI early on in 3-1a because of the dog chain scene. Regardless, this is the most we know at this point about Keiji's wish, and, well... it's wrong? Like, if it's true, there would need to be some wack-ass reasoning, but we have literally played as Keiji before and we know what his actual plan was with the Midori head, so we know that, at least in part, Ranmaru was wrong.
Before we get back to our regularly scheduled programming, for those who still aren't convinced that Mr. Policeman is Joe's dad, I'd like to thank tumblr user @craftybubb (let me know if you want me to get rid of that mention, please, I just figured I should credit you with this information) for responding to my post nerding out about the Joe's dad theory:
the japanese dialogue highly suggests this. it's lost in translation but he wanted to "name his kid who is passionate about his feelings", (情に熱い漢の名前 very literal translation but it's a bit awkward in English)
情 stands out because it's pronounced as "jou" = Joe = Jou Tazuna boom
Anyway, that out of the way, I am now back, a month later, to finish this super awesome theory. I haven't proofread, nor will I proofread, anything before this, so deal with however nonsensical it sounds, this is a fucking tumblr post for Christ's sake.
So, the questions are: why did Keiji instantly trust Sara? and what is the character and plot relevance of Joe being Mr. Policeman's son?
My original thought process here was that Keiji always suspected a little bit that Joe was Mr. Policeman's son, and was thus terrified of him. First, Keiji may have been a bit paranoid that Joe would recognize him somehow, and he also may have been terrified to face up to the consequences of his own actions, those being Joe's status as an orphan. Keiji's fear of Joe is evidenced by Joe's mistrust of Keiji: there were plenty of members of the death game with equally bad intentions at the time, but very few who showed signs of some level of mistrust towards Joe. Hence, Keiji's fear would stand out to Joe. Still, my friend pointed out to me that this doesn't sound like the cool, logical Keiji, that he wouldn't think this way. Although I posited that Keiji's own trauma would prevent him from thinking rationally, I still don't think this theory quite makes sense on its own. The familial resemblance would simply never be enough evidence for Keiji to believe that Joe was Mr. Policeman's son.
So I think there was another element at play, Keiji subconsciously remembering his wish. If Keiji could wish for anything, would he not wish to apologize to the son of the man he killed? The son we now know he knew existed?
Now, we already know that the reason Joe was in the death game was to create "balance" by preventing Sara from taking a massacre route. However, it's been demonstrated through Shin's simultaneous existence as a candidate and as Kanna's wish (via Kugie) that candidates can have multiple reasons to be in the death game. In this case, it's just too much of a coincidence that Joe happens to be the son of the man Keiji killed. Furthermore, presumably, Mr. Policeman was looking into collusion between the police and Asu-Naro, since, well, everything in this game is connected, so along with the man's death, the existence of Mr. Policeman's son and murderer would instantly be known to the organization. Thus, they may have planned for Keiji to wish Joe into the death game in order to have access to both men.
uh tbh i definitely had more evidence a month ago when i first came up with this theory, and i was really convinced it wasn't just a crack theory, but i honest to god cannot remember why. so like, I'm gonna put this out there, and I'm gonna plead and beg that if this so ~inspires~ you to find more evidence, please share.

SDOC 4 Ep 6 Commentary
I thought I would be able to sleep earlier last Sat since SDOC was postponed but nope. Ended up reading till 6+am. What is wrong with me?
• First up. I just wanna exclaim. DD looks so good in this episode. I love his hair!
• Henry and his voice change shenanigan at the beginning where he confused everyone. 😅 But it was sweet that he was trying to console Lay.
• My top vote for the team captain's performance goes to Henry, followed by HG. I usually rank Henry quite low in my books (sorry!) but his team did really well in this ep. HG continues to surprise. Much as I love DD, I have to agree with his own assessment - that his team members lack cohesion. Major props to DD's facial expressions during his performance though.
• Of the 2x2 battles, my fav goes to Zyko and Ma Xiao Long's. It's a relatively silent performance, but loud in meaning and symbolism. The epitome of quiet strength. I like the flow and concept of succession that they are trying to convey. And DD's reaction. 😆 I also really like Huang Xiao and Ken Ken's. I thought it was brilliant to use the concept of mirroring to show Yin and Yang.
• AC attempting Locking. Good try! I love his personality. It was super awesome to see him pair up with Ibuki. I said it last week but ain't his new haircut cute?
• I've always known DD to be a smart guy but he has high EQ too. You can tell from the way he reacts, not just in SDOC but in other interviews. He has his own pace and he doesn't take the bait even if you try to get him to react to something or react in a certain way. He's not the kind to shoot his mouth off as well. For eg. his reply to Henry's attempted provocation before their battle "Aiyo, what to do?" in that cutesy but slightly annoying way, throwing the ball back to Henry. Like I'm not being rude, I'm still giving a response but I'm not playing your game.
• "I lost. I only got 4 votes." Can see that DD was slightly disappointed at himself and the team but he was still very objective when appraising his team. He knew going into the challenge they had issues. This is something I admire about him. I have no doubt In his head he's thinking how to be better, how to solve the issue etc, rather than feeling down. Compared to season 3 when he ranked last in the captain's first show, where he was visibly disappointed. You can really see his growth and change in attitude in the past year. Like him telling Nelson to do more of a certain dance move, cos that's what the judges like. Him rambling on about how fair this voting system is, despite losing. Now, results are not as important; he's really there to learn. He's more relaxed. Not just in SDOC but like in general, DD seems more cheerful, carefree this year. I love it.
• Hahaha Rochka's sweet revenge against DD. He's probaby the only one who can say that DD's performance is so-so. They're both so good natured.
• It was cool that the foreign judges had short performances.
• Acky San 'Firstly I want to tell everyone, I didn't contribute!'
• Unpopular opinion but I really like Bunta and his style. I had my eye on him since ep 1. The 'best friends' dance that he cheoreographed with Ye Yin was great but this week's performance by the waackers/choreographers was just amazing. Amazing. Truly my fav of the season so far. And the part where he collapsed at the end? Hope to see at least one or two more performances from Bunta before he inevitably gets eliminated. He is so underrated. I hope DD chooses him to join his team as choreographer but I have a feeling he might go for Chun Lin?
• As usual, Xiaoji was so entertaining. Can he join DDU as a co-host?😛 I think he gets undermined a fair bit and relegated to the comic relief sometimes but the guy has some great moves that I hardly see others using. Like the free fall one and the other one where he bounces across horizontally. All these require a lot of core strength and body control.
• I kinda wished they had cued DD to join the Lockers. That would have been amazing and I'm sure DD would have killed it. The boy was so excited the moment the familiar locking music came on. Give him the chance to share the stage with the OG Lockers whom he admires so much, please?
• Next week's ep looks so fun. And we get to see DD and his fav Hammer dance again.
DD gets it. He really lives and breathe street dance culture. Seeing him get excited over the song choices of the locking performance and reminiscing the times when he used to practice with the same song. Also, DD correctly identifying which member choreographed which segment of the waacker/choreographers group dance says a lot of his observation skills and understanding of the participants' expertise and styles. Also his experience. Also, DD always seem to get the underlying storyline eg. The Japanese theme. And that is why he has gained the attention and respect of the dance community, both from participants within his team and even other teams, in the show and outside. He knows his stuff.
I saw a comment made by a C-BXG, that WYB was a dancer first before an idol. As a child, he learned dancing to become a dancer. Because of his love for dance. Whereas for many others, they learn dancing with the aim of become an idol. That's the difference, and that's why he can relate to the dance community. Cos they have the same experiences. He really gets them.

on my mind :: five
:: suna rintarou x f!reader :: playlist :: masterlist ::
:: taglist: open :: wc: 2.2k ::
After a drunken one-night stand with your ex, you thought you could get him out of your life for good. Unfortunately, the two of you can’t seem to keep away from each other. Why can’t you leave each other alone? And more importantly, why is he still on your mind?
tw: alcohol, profanity, mentions of sex
author’s note: this chapter is v self-indulgent + fluffy but i hard a hard time getting it to flow while covering everything, so i’m sorry if it some parts seem kinda confusing. as always, thank you for reading and i hope you enjoy this chapter <3
After another week of deliberation, you were no closer to determining if another relationship with Suna would be worth a shot. You didn’t hear from him or speak to him at practice, even after you rejoined the team on the court later in the week. He kept his distance, seemingly wary of talking to you after you left him at his kitchen table Saturday morning.
You weren’t quite sure what to make of it. Based on his reaction Saturday, you guessed he was probably pissed at you, and you didn’t blame him. He had specifically warned you about regrets on Friday night, and you completely blew him off, just to tell him you regretted everything the next day. It was a dick move on your part, and you understood that. There weren’t any excuses; it was simply your drunk versus sober self warring against each other.
Nonetheless, you still felt awful. You kept your distance; you didn’t want to further anger Suna with your presence. During practice, you kept to the sidelines, performing your duties with a calculating eye and absolute precision.
Still, by the end of the week, you were exhausted. Besides the intense contemplation you were performing in your head, work was also draining. Sakusa Kiyoomi sprained his wrist (apparently, it happened quite often), Yaku Morisuke nearly tore his ACL (a devastating injury for a libero), and on top of it all, Hinata Shoyo somehow managed to break two toes, his pinky finger, and got a concussion. Top it all off with the fact that Tobio Kageyama was always hovering over Hinata when he was injured, questioning your every move, and you had a recipe for disaster (or at least extreme exhaustion). By the time Friday’s afternoon practice was finished, you were ready to fall asleep while standing up.
You said your goodbyes to the team, approved the weekend’s schedule with Iwaizumi (it was your turn to work Sunday’s practice match), and took the train home. After unlocking your apartment, you debated whether or not you should go straight to bed without dinner or suck it up and make something quick and easy. In the end, your desire to not wake up starving at five in the morning won, and you went to change before starting dinner. You threw on some old running shorts and Suna’s stolen jersey, which had become your new favorite sleep shirt (who could blame you, it was comfortable as hell).
However, a quick search through your cabinets and fridge showed that you had almost no food, whatsoever. Not a big deal, you could just run to the convenience store down the street.
So you did, with no makeup, dressed in sleep clothes, hair in a messy bun.
Grabbing a basket, you made your way around the small store, ignoring the stares you received from other customers (you chose to believe it was just because of your tangled hair, but you knew it was because you were wearing a Japanese National Team jersey). You picked up some eggs and noodles for ramen, along with some broth. You were in the frozen food aisle, considering the merits of cookies and cream versus matcha ice cream, when someone tentatively called your name.
You spun around, cursing yourself for not at least putting on a jacket, when you began to curse yourself even more for wearing the stupid jersey.
You came face to face with Suna Rintarou, who was considering you with a pained expression on his face.
“Hey, Suna,” you switched your basket from one hip to the other, “what are you doing here?”
He held up the package in his hand. Jelly fruit sticks. “Had a craving.”
You inclined your head. “Cool.”
“What about you?”
You looked down at the basket. “Needed stuff to make ramen.”
He nodded, then looked off to the side before looking back at you. “Um, y/n, who’s jersey is that?”
Panicking, you laughed. “Just an extra I found.”
“Really? It has my name on the back.”
Shit. “Oh, well, must be a coincidence, I guess.”
He cocked his head to the side. “I also lost mine a few weeks ago.”
“Oh wow, that’s awful, I’m sorry.” You turned, trying to make an escape.
“Y/n.”
You looked back at Suna. “Yeah?”
“That’s my jersey.”
You laughed again, dread really becoming apparent now. “What? No way.”
Suna just continued looking at you. “Your bra is at my apartment.”
You quickly shook your head. “No-”
“So is your torn skirt.”
“No, tha-”
“We slept together.”
“Yeah, but only-”
“Twice.”
“No, def-”
“And you knew.”
You were really starting to panic, hands waving around, like that would somehow convince him. “No, no, no.”
Suna looked you in the eye. “We need to talk.”
You sighed, accepting defeat. “Yeah, I guess we do.”
---
After awkwardly paying for your food and an even more awkward walk back to your apartment, you and Suna were finally in private.
“D’ya want anything to drink? Water, soda, juice? Wine, something a little stronger? Vodka?”
Suna just sighed, shrugging out of his jacket. “Water’s fine, thanks.”
You poured him a glass of water and yourself a glass of wine, but not before taking a few shots of vodka. You were going to need it to get through this. You approached with the glasses, setting one down in front of Suna before curling up on the other end of the couch.
“Nice place you got.”
“Thanks.” You sipped from your glass, waiting for Suna to make the first move. When it became apparent that he wasn’t going to speak until you did, you spoke up. “I’m-”
“We-”
You laughed, setting down your glass. “You can go first.”
Suna took a deep breath. “We both have fucked up, in the past and now. I’ll admit it. The way I treated you in high school was shitty, and it’s taken me a long time to own up to it. I’m sorry for all the pain I caused you back then. And I don’t know if it’s you getting back at me, or purely coincidental, but I’m kinda hurt that you hid this from me. I mean, for fuck’s sake, y/n, I talked about it in front of you. And you just kept quiet!” You silently watched as Suna took a sip of water. “I guess my main question is why. Why didn’t you say anything to me? Were you just hoping that I would never find out?”
You assessed Suna, allowing yourself a moment to think. “I didn’t hide it from you to get back at you. I’ve long since forgiven you for all of the shit in high school, and it wasn’t just you. I was immature and insecure back then, so for what it’s worth, I’m sorry too. I think I didn’t say anything because I was scared. I mean, I woke up that morning in your apartment, with no memory of the night before, and I hadn’t seen you in eight years. I had no clue what happened or why I was there. I didn’t know why you were in Tokyo, and honestly, I thought you would’ve been disgusted. We hadn’t spoken to each other in a long, long time. I didn’t want our first meeting after all those years to be an awkward morning-after. And about the jersey,” you laughed a little to yourself, “that was pure coincidence. I had no clue what I had taken until I got home, and I had no idea how to return it.”
Suna nodded, seemingly thinking something over before speaking. “I forgive you. I’m not even that upset about everything, to be honest. I think it just kind of hurts that you kept it from me. And I’ll admit, I was really bothered when you just left last Saturday. I don’t know how much of what you said Friday night is true, and I was a little drunk too, but I meant everything. I didn’t want you to have any regrets, and I don’t regret it.” He chuckled to himself, “I mean obviously, I wish we had slept together under different circumstances, and I wish that you didn’t regret it either, because it clearly made you upset.”
“I think it just took me by surprise, that was all. I had promised myself that I wouldn’t get drunk and sleep with you again, and I did exactly that. I was upset at myself, and I took it out on you. I’m sorry.” You made eye contact with him, hoping that your eyes could convey the emotions that your words could not. “For what it’s worth, I meant everything as well. I did miss you, all those years we were apart, but I hope you understand why I had to leave back then. We were tearing each other apart, constantly. I had to do the hard thing and get out before there was nothing left.” Tears started to well up in your eyes, and you quickly wiped them away. “I had to leave. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, because I loved you,” your voice broke, “no, because I still love you, so much. For eight years, I focused on bettering myself, and I tried every single day to forget about you, but you were always on my mind. And I was terrified when I saw you again, fuck, I’m still terrified. But you’re my best friend, you always have been, and I love you, Rin.” You couldn’t stop the tears that were flowing now, after bearing your heart. You let Suna pull you in, and cried into his chest as he stroked your hair and whispered calming words. When the tears finally stopped, you remained tucked into Suna, your head underneath his chin.
“I never stopped thinking about you, or loving you.” Now Suna was the one who sounded close to tears. “You can ask ‘Tsumu. I always asked him for updates on you. I remember, when I got my National Team letter, the first thing I did was ask ‘Tsumu if you’d be a trainer here. I kept up with you, and I knew you had just completed your training with another team. So I knew you were gonna be here, and I thought, maybe, just maybe, this was my chance. Our chance to fix the whole ‘right person, wrong time’ thing we had. ‘Cause that’s what I’m convinced it was. We just didn’t know how to balance each other out yet or how to be in a real relationship yet. We were still kids, learning about ourselves and the world. When you left, I was determined to not make it the last time I ever saw you. I knew you had to leave, had to find your place in the world, without me. I never blamed you. You did the hard part by leaving. What you didn’t know, though,” Suna hugged you a little closer, “is that I was always there, right next to you, cheering you on.” Now the both of you were crying. “I want to fix things with you, make things right. If there’s anything I learned last Friday,” Suna gave a wet laugh, “it’s that we can still talk to each other, and we can do it better than we ever did. I want to be with you, again. I want there to be an us, again.”
You sat up a little, putting some space between the two of you. This, you weren’t so sure about. You looked to the side, trying to avoid Suna’s pleading eye contact. “Rin,” you looked back up at him, “you know I love you. You know I missed you so, so much. But I just need a little bit more time. And I’m sorry to even ask you-”
“Shh, shh, it’s okay.” He held you close as you began crying again. “I understand, I do. I’ll wait, as long as you need me too, I’ll wait for you. Just promise me that you’ll let me know when you’re ready.”
You nodded against his chest. “I promise, Rintarou. Thank you.”
You stayed there, head on his chest, just listening to his heartbeat. It felt as if a weight had been lifted from your shoulders. It was nice to get everything off of your chest, to figure out where the both of you stood with each other. It was nice to know that you would have the time and space to sort your head out, to fully work out if a relationship with Suna was a good idea or not. There were still so many aspects of your high school relationship that you had pushed to the side years ago, and you needed to sort through it. You needed to separate that Suna from this Suna, the old you from the present you. You needed time to be in a better mental state, one where you could give him your all.
But you knew, no matter how much time it took, Suna would be waiting for you.
---
When Suna finally left your apartment, it was hours and a teary goodbye later. You promised to keep in touch, and he promised to give you time and space.
You went to bed feeling significantly lighter, dreaming about a future where you could fall asleep on Suna’s chest every single night.

Just wanted to say that I adore your art and feel so blessed/happy to have found your wonderful content. Are there any visual novels/otomes you love and wish more people knew about? I'm personally feeling that way with Sweet Fuse lately and am always looking for more characters to simp over as well 😅
You are very kind, thank you! '//u//' As far as ones I've found but not a lot of people know about, hmmm.... I'm pretty new to the Visual Novel/Otome genre, so most the ones I've played are current, or experienced a flash of popularity (like Hatoful Boyfriend. You know, the little indie one about dating giant pigeons XD I still need to finish that one, actually....) The Exceptions are: Paradigm Paradox, which I imported in Japanese. My knowledge of the language is very small however, so progression is slow and my lazy brain likes to prioritize things it can actually read. So I am not very far even into the common route xD; But I'm gonna push myself to play more of that soon. But that one is also on Aksys's localization list, so it'll come out within the next year in English for anyone who wants to play it. And Nightshade, which is an older otome, but still on the Switch. That one I am three routes deep into and it's very good. I have some backlogged in my Steam account, but I haven't gotten around to playing them. Two are the Psychedelica games which many friends have informed me are very good. (Currently on sale for like, 7.50 each too, I think ) It's not an otome, and... maybe it's not even a true visual novel, since you run around in it and also have big strategy-gaming sections, but 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is really really good. It's currently PS4-only, but I believe a Switch release is also supposed to be in the near future? If you like big casts of characters, interweaving storylines, and nonlinear story-telling, then 13 Sentinels is really really good. It comes with both an English dub and the original Japanese audio and both are excellent. If you like cool story-and-character-driven games and want to experience dialogue that flows as close to seamless as possible as you choose your answers, I recommend Oxenfree. A good spooky game with clever writing and dialogue and multiple endings. Also a sequel is on the horizon I think, and I'm pumped for that. The same company also made Afterparty, which has a story involving going on a bar crawl to outdrink the devil himself, and it was fun, but less enchanting to my tastes. Stellar VA work though, and still fun. Both games are available for Mac, PC, Xbone, Switch.... prolly also PS4? Oxenfree is even old enough now that you can usually find it for like five bucks on a Steam sale with relative frequency, not sure about Afterparty though. Neither of them will really give you characters to "simp" over, but the story and characters might still be worth it to you. That's all that comes to mind at present though, other than a few games I know little about but would like to import after Paradigm Paradox, assuming my brain sponges up enough Japanese to keep going. xD

A LITTLE MORE THAN FRIENDSHIP
summary : kazunari seems odd, and although he denies it, you see right through his lies. the falsehood of his own existence is eating away at him, and as a good friend, you do your best to try and assist him.
genre : fluff
perspective : second person pov
pairing : kazunari miyoshi x gn!reader ( they / them pronouns )
word count : 1.5k
warnings : spoilers for kazunari miyoshi’s backstory
“ director-chan~ ♪ ! looking forward to work today too ☆ ” - kazunari miyoshi ( introduction voice lines )
You had always believed that Kazunari had something to hide. Not in the shady sense, but something was definitely off about him. It wasn’t in the way he laughed, nor in the way that he would grin and wave at almost all the people walking down the street.
Those were just his quirky qualities, weren’t they? Yet again, maybe not. It was hard to tell in the midst of all his hellos and goodbyes whenever he would meet up with you, and the constant texting to other friends on his phone. The way he would act was normal for someone with connections like his, but something was itching in the back of your mind.
It’s strange, it’s strange, it’s strange.
It bothered you immensely, although you had told yourself you would leave it alone. One day when the two of you were hanging out in a cafe, you just couldn’t keep all the questions in.
“Hey Kazunari, are you okay?” You asked.
He looked up at you from his phone, and cocked his head to the side questioningly.
“What do you mean, Y/N? I’m completely fine! Thank you for worrying about me though!” He said, grinning with that smile of his.
“No. There’s definitely something you’re hiding from me.” You pushed, crossing your arms over your chest.
Kazunari’s face morphed into one of confusion, his brows furrowing as he brought his cup up to his lips and sipped on his drink. He placed it back onto the small coffee table with a tiny clang, looking you dead in the eyes.
“I’m really okay, Y/N. There’s nothing wrong with me, and I hope you don’t continuously worry about me like this.” He said quickly.
You didn’t believe it for a second, but then again, you couldn’t really describe how weird he had been acting ever since you’d first met. It was still an enjoyable experience though, and you thoroughly wished you could get to know him even better than you currently did. Hopefully one day you’d be able to gently tug that secret he was hiding out of him.
“Anyway, do you wanna go anywhere? You promised me a day of friendly fun together, right?” You asked, slumping back into the soft armchair.
“You can decide! I’m good with any place you want to head to.” Kazunari said, typing on his phone again.
“But like, do you wanna go anywhere? I don’t really have anything in my brain right now, but I want to go somewhere exciting.” You said, waving your fist in the air, imaging a large rollercoaster that you and Kazunari could ride together.
“Well, it would be cool if we... you know what, you can make the choice. It’s me who invited you to hang out, and I really don’t mind where we go to!” He said again, waving his hands in front of him, shrugging it off.
Like you had thought previously, his behavior was only getting increasingly strange by the second. It was still worrying, and since you didn’t seem to be getting anywhere with what you were attempting to do. Instead, it seemed better to take a different approach. You pushed yourself out of your chair, grabbing your bag and slinging it over your shoulder.
“Well, I think I’ll head home for today. It was nice seeing you!” You said, walking out the door, leaving Kazunari dumbfounded as he sat there in the cafe.
Of course, before leaving you slipped a few bucks into his jacket. It wouldn’t seem right to leave him to pay for your drink as well. It wasn’t that you wanted to stand him up like that, but if you wanted him to open up about what he was hiding, he’d have to do it on his own, and willingly so. Maybe it just wasn’t the right time for it.
First thing the next morning, you had received a text from the one, the only Kazunari☆. He had asked you to meet him in a few days at an arcade. It was slightly strange, since he never showed a large interest in playing games at all, other than the occasional Mahjong game with some of his friends he’d invite over. You couldn’t really remember any of them other than one called Citron, who seemed to wrongly pronounce and speak a lot of Japanese words. It was hilarious though, and you’d enjoyed conversing with him when the Mahjong sessions would occur.
You couldn’t stop thinking about how Kazunari had acted in the few days between when you were going to see him again. What was he hiding? From how he was acting it was plainly obvious that something was going on. It was just a matter of what it was. Of course, you planned to accept it regardless of what he told you, and as time ticked by, you silently hoped it wasn’t something illegal.
The day had come for when you were going to meet Kazunari at the arcade he had sent an address to on your phone. It was a rather old arcade, and a lot of the games seemed to come from a decade ago. At least that was what you could see from the outside of the shop. Who knew Kazunari was into this kind of stuff?
“Boo.”
You turned to feel arms wrapping around your middle, hands squeezing tightly around your waist and a familiar chuckle emitting from the tall, green eyed boy behind you. Kazunari was wearing his hat and classic THREE THREE THREE shirt, and he was wearing a small smile on his face as he grabbed your hand.
“Come on, we’re playing Mario Kart.”
“Is there any reason why you brought me here? Didn’t know you were into this kind of stuff, and even if you were, you never told me.” You asked, tilting your head to the side as he dragged you through the aisles and aisles of arcade games, to stop at the large Mario Kart set-up.
“I used to really like these back in middle school, but I stopped for a while because I was bullied for being a nerd.” He said, a sad smile etching across his features.
“Wait, Kazunari-”
“Regardless, let’s play a few rounds. If you can beat me, I’ll tell you the full story.” He said, smirking mischievously as he placed his hands on the wheel in front of him.
“You’re on.”
And so, the fight ensued. After multiple rounds of intense mushroom consumption and shell throwing, you had won two out of five matches. You sighed to yourself, feeling the failure sink in slowly. You wouldn’t even be able to hear about what he had to say this way. You were only a few seconds off.
“I really was thinking you were going to beat me, Y/N. Still, I’ll tell you all about what happened.” He said, tapping you lightly on your defeated figure, which bounded up the moment he had said that.
“In short, I fabricated a lot about myself, and my own life to fit the people I wanted to impress. People just thought that was my personality, befriending others and being an overall very popular person. I didn’t think anyone would ever pick up on the fact that I was lying to all of my friends. Some of them, to an extent, aren’t even my friends. Certain relationships I have are quite shallow, to say the least, and I can’t help but feel guilty that they are so. Still, I was able to grow close to you.” He said, looking towards you with a grateful smile, one that made his eyes twinkle as he gazed at you.
“It was something strange that had urged me to become closer to you, and I didn’t really know what it was. I guess now I know. You were able to see through the facades I had put up and see me for me. And I thank you for that, truly.”
Kazunari leaned his forehead onto yours from where he was seated on the machine, his hat in his hands, fiddling with it slowly as he closed his eyes and simply felt you next to him. Your heart was beating at 200 miles per hour, and you let a smile spread across your face.
“No problem...?” You mumbled, unsure of what to reply with.
He laughed, a hearty laugh that echoed through the silent arcade, only faint grunts and the clicking of keys in the background.
“I want to get to know you better, Y/N.” He whispered, grasping your hand in his.
“In the friendship kind of way?” You stuttered, silently letting loose a slew of curse words that you had managed to stutter while talking to him.
“Mm, maybe a little more than friendship.”

Y/N woke up hearing small footsteps from outside her room and smiled to herself, she knew by heart to whom they belong. It's Sunday though, why is he up early? And why is he quietly approaching her room? Haru quietly opened the door to her room, tiptoeing to where she was sleeping, and somewhat, she's glad that she's wearing decent pajamas to sleep in last night. "Eomma," he called softly, hearing a faint rustle in the background.
The five-year-old climbed up her bed, giving his mother a hug. "Eomma, wake up," he said once again, a little louder this time that made her turn to him while slightly opening her eyes. "Happy Mother's Day, eomma." he greeted, making her smile. Is that why he's up this early?
"Good morning, my Haru." she greeted with a smile, surprised to see someone leaning by her doorway and looking at the two of them. What is Yuta Nakamoto doing here? "Did you have a nice sleep?" And the child nodded, smiling at her the same way as his father did. They really do have that same lovely smile that whenever the younger would smile, she would be reminded of Yuta.
It was a graduation after-party. She got drunk and the next thing she knew, she’s sleeping next to the almighty soccer jock, naked. Although they had few conversations before, she and Yuta were never really close. It was a mistake, she knew. But Haru is the best mistake that happened in her life. A mistake she’s sure she’ll repeat over and over again.
Her pregnancy isn’t a secret to him but he made sure that they cannot have anything more than just the mother and father of the child. It’s alright, she thought. She can even take care of her son alone but Yuta just had to enter her son’s life like this.
Haru bounced on her bed, smiling at the man by the doorway who was carrying a plate in his hands. "Appa and I made something for you to thank you for giving birth to me and being a great eomma," he said that made her smile, surprised at the sudden eloquence. True enough, for a five-year-old, he is ahead of his classmates since he can speak fluently at age three and can converse in both his mother tongue and Japanese.
The older handed the younger a plate of pancake with chocolate syrup drawing of a heart, coffee also present by her bedside table. "This was all appa's idea," he said with a grin present on his face. "He even brought you a present."
Y/N looked at the door to see Yuta bringing in a bouquet of flowers and pink heart-shaped balloons. "I'm sorry for crashing in without your knowledge but Haru wanted this to be a surprise," he said sincerely that made the girl purse her lips in gratitude.
"Thank you…" she said quietly when he handed her the bouquet and admired the sunflowers in the bunch. She had always loved sunflowers. Does he know? Or maybe Haru told him. "Yuta-shii." she continued.
The girl grinned at her son, cupping his cheeks to give him a smooch. "Thank you, my Haru." And the younger guy giggled at the affection. Ever since young, her son had always liked the affection from her unlike other guys his age who wanted to act tough in front of their moms. Probably because it's always the two of them.
"Appa said that since it's a special occasion, we can go somewhere that you really want, eomma..." The younger claimed while licking the chocolate on his fingers. "Like the aquarium." And Y/N had to giggle at that. When did she say that she liked the aquarium? It was actually Haru who really wanted to go to the aquarium. "Right appa?" he asked while munching on the pancakes that made the girl smile.
Yuta just nodded and she wondered when the two became this close. Their soccer bonding? Is it really a good idea to let Haru know about his father? "You can just ask me if you want to go to the aquarium..."
"But I want to go with you and appa to the aquarium," he stated that made her look at him. Maybe he really is yearning for a family, a complete one like his classmates. "Please eomma," he begged, showing his puppy dog eyes. Where did he get this aegyo from? Probably from Yuta. The only girl just nodded, making the young boy scream in delight. "I love you, eomma. I'll get ready now." He said while peppering her face with kisses that made her laugh. Why is Haru like this?
He quickly ran off outside her room and into his, creating a loud thud from the door. The girl just kneeled down on her bed, fixing the sheets and removing the plate of now gone pancakes. "I'm sorry. Haru is always like that when he wants something," she said softly and Yuta was quick enough to get the plate. "Are you sure about this, Yuta-shii? Haru can be really hyper outside," she claimed then drank the coffee in one go. This is sweeter than the usual coffee she has.
The guy just smiled getting the coffee cup from her. "It's fine, I want to spend time with Haru anyway." She just nodded, unable to say something. Sensing the awkwardness, Yuta just laughed. "Cute pajamas, by the way." he complimented and she lightly glanced at the matching top and bottom light blue pajamas with yellow rubber ducks as design.
Y/N giggled to hide her embarrassment. "It's a matching set with Haru."
"You've always liked cute stuff like that." The comment made her stop. Huh? Why does he know that? Yuta cleared his throat at the sudden awkwardness. "I'll help Haru get ready. We'll just wait for you outside." And she just nodded, hearing the door close as she sat by her bed. Why is this so awkward for her? And what does Yuta want now?
From inside her room, while getting ready, she could hear Haru's giggles as if he's really happy with something. Once done, she went out of the room to see the young boy already dressed and on his father's lap laughing at something on Yuta's phone. "Appa, I think ojisan and obasan are really cool. Do you think eomma would let me meet them?" he asked innocently which made Y/N surprised. Does he want to meet them that badly?
Yuta nodded. "They'll be very happy to meet you. Let's ask eomma if we can go to Japan sometime." This is bad. They can never know about Haru, they shouldn't. She should prevent Yuta from taking over Haru's life.
"Eomma," Haru called that surprised her, snapping her out of her thoughts. "You look really pretty." And she honestly wanted to laugh at that, she's only in her white shirt and jeans. Is her son really whipped for her like this? "Isn't she, appa?"
Her eyes darted to Yuta who was looking at her with a surprised yet amused expression, he smiled then nodded. "Your mom is always pretty." Her face felt warm that instant, a blush creeping in her cheeks at how he said those words.
"Let's go! I'm excited to see the fishes." Haru said excitedly, that made her blink. He then held his father's hand, running outside the door.
Y/N is again thinking deeply about this scenario, is it correct to let Yuta in Haru's life? The doctor said that it is indeed good for him and she had been a witness to how his health got better when he had soccer and he bonded with his dad. But is it good for them?
Yuta opened the door to the backseat and the younger boy smiled before getting in. The girl was about to get in when he closed the door then pointed at the passenger seat that made the two adults look at each other. "I'm sorry," she said but Yuta shook his head, opening the passenger door for her.
It was really awkward. She didn't know that she'll be this close to the father of her child after the night they conceived him. She has no idea that a time will come and she would be next to Nakamoto Yuta like this. He's always an unattainable person for her, really cool and famous. Why does it have to be him? Alcohol is such a bitch.
The aquarium is full of people because of the weekend and it's a special occasion. Haru was holding tight on his father's hand as he shared to the older trivia about fishes that he would always read in his books. She was just watching how natural their interaction is, how excited her son is with the presence of Yuta. An emotion that she hadn't seen in him for five years. If things were just different, this might be an image she would witness every day.
Haru was playing in the playground when he sat in front of her, smiling. "Thank you for doing this, Yuta. Haru is really happy."
The guy just nodded then sipped on his cola. "You know I'll do everything for him." A shy smile appeared on his lips as he watched his son play with the other kids. "I already talked to Mika…" If only things were really different. "She wanted Haru to come with us to Japan." A gasp escaped her lips and she looked petrified. They wanted to take Haru from her? "I know it's a stupid idea but Haru can get treated in Tokyo…"
"I'm doing my best to take care of Haru." She revolted, tears springing from her eyes that they're starting to attract attention. She's doing everything for him all these years, taking care of him and juggling her job on the side. Yet Yuta wants to take him away from her when he just entered his life. "Please don't take Haru away from me."
He gulped hard, moving to the seat next to her. "I'm sorry. That's a really stupid idea." He mumbled, wiping her tear-stained cheeks. "Please don't cry. I don't like seeing you crying." He handed her a handkerchief and she quickly dried her tears, complaining that this is the first time she cried in front of him. "You always cry in the library during junior year."
What? How come he knew that? "Eomma, are you crying?" Haru asked, returning from the playground and looking really worried. She quickly turned around from him to hide her tears. "Did appa make you cry?"
The guy gave a heavy sigh then carried the younger boy on his lap. "Haru, do you remember the talk we had about eomma?" He nodded while giggling. "Can you promise me that you'll take care of eomma while I'm in Japan?" Yuta asked which made her look at the two of them. She hated how they looked so comfortable with each other like they shared a special secret between the two of them.
"You're going to return for my birthday, right?"
"Of course." Yuta grinned. "And eomma's birthday as well." Another surprise. Does he know her birthday? "But for now, appa had to work hard in Japan for you to meet obasan and ojisan."
The younger boy nodded in excitement and she hissed. Isn't he liking this so much? "Is that why eomma is crying? Because she'll miss you?" This kid really.
Yuta had to laugh at that. "Eomma likes ice cream, can you get her one?" he asked the younger boy who nodded when he gave him cash. "Chocolate for eomma. And you get one for yourself, as well." The younger can be seen skipping to where the ice cream is but her eyes cannot leave Yuta's face. Is he doing this to take Haru away from her?
"I'm sorry." The sincerity in his eyes was all Y/N could see right now. "You're doing a fantastic job taking care of Haru. I'm glad you're his mom." He held her hand that was above the table, his thumb running along the back of her hand. "But please, Y/N, if anything happens…" He looked conflicted, a new image of Yuta in front of her. "If you need anything, call me. You know I'll drop anything for Haru."
He does care about Haru but she refuses to believe that lie. There's one thing that Yuta cannot drop for their son. "Just, whatever it is, call me." She nodded just as the younger boy came with chocolate and vanilla ice cream.
Haru was still grinning on the ride home, wishing that the day could extend more. She wished the same thing. "Thank you, appa." Haru beamed, hugging his dad. "I'm really happy." She badly wanted to tear up at that, he really is. The happiness that only his father can give.
The two were still talking secretly that made her smile, Haru is giggling and Yuta is smiling at him. The younger went inside the house, running. "Yuta, thank you."
"Anything for Haru."
She smiled bitterly. Of course, it's for Haru. "Please say hi to your wife for me." The image of him in conflict appeared once again, replaced by a smiling one. "Take care, Yuta."
"You too, Y/N." He said then held her arm, lightly squeezing. This should have been romantic for her. If only things are… "I wish things were different." He mumbled, her eyes widened in surprise. "Nevermind." He shook his head then smiled at her way. "I'll see you and Haru soon."
Y/N had to repeatedly remind herself that he's doing this for his son. Nothing more, nothing less. That she should stop assuming that everything will be fine and they'll be a happy family. That's highly impossible.
Yes, she had his child. But she can never have Yuta's heart.
