sci-fi alien species that photosynthesizes to convert energy so instead of bars and restaurants they have artificial sun spots where you lay on a big rock under a bright lamp. these places often give humans skin cancer so on date night you'd be more likely to bring your date to a human restaurant where they wouldn't eat anything but would watch you with rapt attention saying things like "wow evolution and biology is so complex in species that vore"

Writing is fun. Idk if you guys knew this but I actually like writing. That's why being busy all the time with doctors and stuff kinda bums me out even if its better for me in the long run cause. MAN I JUST WANNA WRITE ALL DAY.

Anyway the goal for the third half to whole chapter is to be posted on the 23 because at this point. i think it would be hilarious if three chapters were posted on the exact same date 2 months apart each.

The goal for the essay? ideally I finish the Lien and Kizuna part by the end of this month. It's been going through restructuring hell like three times and I didn't even finish one draft RIP. Not to mention said restructuring hell has infiltrated some other areas to lesser degrees, but at least I HAVE a completed draft for those. I am confident about the current plan though! It should work best for them. Also make it less exhausting for me personally.

the app that schedules when to water my indoor plants (don't judge, i have killed many) sent a notification this morning saying to turn on the lights, since there is not enough sunlight for them anymore.

Did not buy enough to make my weekly hodge-podge of food for the week so now I have to go into my stash of canned food & cook for a SECOND time this week cause I did not time it right & can't cook anymore tonight cause I have to have at least an hour long confrontation & then go to bed immediately afterwards cause I have work tomorrow

Hopefully I can grab the food at my job before they throw it away (for being 2 days old) so I don't have to cook again

#tristampparty day 12, episode 0: high noon at july

bang, bang!! nai liking movies is such a cute little detail, (it's in the manga too!!) i don't think it gets talked about enough. he went from thinking gunslinging heroes were cool to guns being a coward's weapon...

i still can't really fully wrap my head around the higher dimension... it contains the "core" of the plants and... it's where plants pull matter and energy from...? yeah i CANNOT fathom it actually

also like. how did humans even discover how plants worked and what they could do. assuming the lore is the same as in the manga (for what lore there is in the manga...) and humans created plants. who what when where why how. humans made plants and use plants every day yet they're such a black box... uuaaaaa (steam comes out of my ears from thinking too hard)

zazie's priority lies with the planet itself and whether or not worms will be able to continue to live and thrive on it, but i wish we got to see more of what the worms need to like. actually live and survive. they have a hivemind so they can't truly "die" (i guess unless every single worm is wiped out), but what do they need to live? we see that the giant worms eat humans, but what did they eat before humans crashed on the planet? tomas? other worms? do they photosynthesize? do they need to breathe? humans use worms for food and resources, but what exactly would knives have do to the planet to make it unlivable for the worms?

the song that vash sings is... the song knives plays on his piano. in the original/98, the song that was important to vash was rem's song. here, that... may or may not be the case...? vash says the song "just comes to him," but in this scene he's forgotten rem... then again, the song isn't what helps him remember her.

there was a theory post from a while ago that posited this song is the voice, or... frequency of the plants(?) which could very well be the case. vash and knives taking that frequency and singing or playing it in a way humans can hear... rem was onto something when she called them a bridge.

i wonder how much of this scene is an actual memory. maybe vash did sing that song, and nai heard it, and they played it on the piano together. and that's why knives continues to play it in the present day.

this is reminding me of... in the manga when vash escaped from the ark and knives was begging him not to go. it's... yeah, pretty much the same. different scenario, but the same.

this sequence is so gorgeous... once again i'm asking how people ever thought this anime looked bad. lmao.

BUT MY MAIN QUESTION IS THIS!!! IS THIS REALLY REM SPEAKING TO VASH HERE? we know that in trimax, ghosts kind of exist, right? like tesla appearing to the twins, wolfwood appearing to livio... is this a similar case? what's happening on the "outside" is meryl's voice reaching through to vash, right? so is this more like, meryl's presence reminds vash of rem, so this is what vash wishes he could hear from her? like is this coming from his subconscious? or... is it really the spirit of rem somehow...

and then there's the wings. the wings... and their context. manga readers know. they're a symbol of, hmm... not forgiveness, but... the first step to it, maybe. the love between them. flying to safety. supporting each other. being side-by-side. right?

they're using their wings to fight each other right now, so i'm sure the plan is to hit us with the wings again at the end for maximum emotional impact. the fact that they both have one wing each makes that extremely fucking obvious, i think. (remember in the manga vash sprouted 2 wings at first, which he couldn't sustain)

it's so interesting that the angel arm comes from vash combining(?) the cube with his gun... does this mean angel arms can't manifest normally? like, do you need the cube? or does the cube just make it easier? and what about knives, can he manifest his?? like this can't be the one and only appearance of the angel arm in tristamp, right, we're gonna need it again for the fifth moon and the ark escape, right??

(assuming those events will even happen in tristamp, but fifth moon AT LEAST is like. a constant in all timelines, i feel. like how time travel stories have "nodes" that can't be changed, right? but this isn't actually that kind of story. so who knows.)

("since that time," he says, which i assume is referring to the flashback scene in episode 9.) and knives says right back at you. but here, vash is basically saying, who are you. you're unrecognizable to me now. that's literally what he says in the dub. and again knives says right back at you. "you haven't changed." "i could say the same of you." "who are you?" "who are you?" they're brothers. they haven't changed. they've changed so much. they know each other better than anyone else. they don't recognize each other anymore. they love each other. did they ever really know each other?

when i first watched tristamp the significance of this all was lost on me. i didn't know any context.

i didn't know that the original trigun started with july already destroyed. i didn't know vash's original bounty. i didn't catch the insurance department mention, or who eriks was, or chronica, or what it meant that the earth fleet was going to arrive, or this being numbered "episode 0"... nothing. all of it went completely over my head. oh i knew milly though. milly is forever.

but now i'm people who know. and i think orange's decision to adapt the story like this, to make it a prequel... is fucking ballsy and cool and i respect it.

that being said, i still don't understand what zazie is talking about... and how they know this. i don't understand all the scifi technobabble with chronica at the end either... what i'm assuming is that the earth forces are keeping tabs on the higher plane(??) and/or on gate readings(?) and... were alerted to what was going on that way? does "crossing over the wall of light" just mean they're using warp drive? why can't zazie talk normally.

uagh. what a fucking journey, man, and it hasn't even begun yet. glad i got to rewatch and go a little crazy. i think the fixation is beginning to fade a little bit (it's been long enough, this is how my brain cycles through things) but the brainrot never truly goes away. girl with plant twins icon gets emotional about the plant twins once again, more at 11.

but... I am a mere heterotroph, a feeder on the carbon transmuted by others. In order to live, I must consume. Forced to choose, I must admit I actually like my heterotroph role...

So instead I live vicariously through the photosynthesis of others. I am not the vibrant leaves on the forest floor - I am the woman with the basket, and how I fill it is a question that matters. If we are fully awake, a moral question arises as we extinguish the other lives around us on behalf of our own. really really long post where i just talk about johan from yugioh gx thank you

im thinking about johan tonight bc i was drawing him and i wanna talk abt him. bear with me. I REALLY LIKE JOHAN . TO START THIS OFF WITH i have an official licensed johan "WHERE AM I" shirt and i adore it its really funny also i used to have like a johan pin i bought from a german anime store and it was like 8 euros but i shipped it off to my friend who is really really crazy about johan

anyway johan. jessejohan. i like johan so much believe me he is my nordic scandinavian brethen i just think his writing has issues mainly that he has like no real relationships outside judai and like. i know as a gay person -- i am literally a lesbian In A Lesbian Relationship In Real Life -- that characters will become more likeable when they're queer coded bcuz its Different and its relatable. however i think his writing is kind of really weak and i quote this thing my friend said in 2022 like a lot

but the most offensive thing abt it writing wise is like in season 4 when they duel against trueman sorry it was fujiwara. okay i was rewatching gx ages ago and my ex was watching it with me and it was her first time seeing it and shes a literature major and when the whole. "what is the darkness in johan's heart" scene, AFTER IT WAS ESTABLISHED EVERYONE, EVERY STUDENT INCLUDING MANJOUME SHO ASUKA O'BRIEN ETCETC has darkness in their hearts,

my ex goes "if they reveal that he has no darkness in his heart because hes such a special boy im going to be so fucking mad because hes already a mary sue" (HER WORDS NOT MINE she was so mad about johan its funny.) AND THEN THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY DO

like he is literally too perfect. his only flaw is his one (1) time thing about getting lost which is never really brought up again (also its more of an endearing haha funny thing and yes i like it i have a shirt referencing that scene.) and the fact that.. he gets taken over i guess.

i do think the switch around where they bamboozle fujiwara is really funny. it is a funny scene i just wish they literally didn't do it at the cost of "johan is a perfect person without any mental weaknesses when literally every single other character has some flaws" I DONT GET IT!!!

ITS FUNNY. i think he should try to feed manjoume blodplättar because he looks anemic. he should open a can of surströmming around asuka (canonically very much hates food with strong smells) and she gets so upset she has to like leave the building entirely. she should get into a cultural dispute with o'brien because he thinks carola's swedish cover of mickey is better than toni basil's original

noemi my sweet sweet summer child

She loves bread. Its an odd obsession but will just eat plain whole slices. Was fascinated watching Juri make toast, it was something she never thought of. Toasted bread wasnt popular on her island, which left her entirely curious. (I will be drawing this)

Smells AMAZING. Everyone thinks shes gatekeeping her perfume but she really isnt. They come from her grandmother in the islands but she often cant read the labels due to never learning how to write in her native tongue, only learning to speak in it.

Her hair is dirty blonde, a really sweet and sandy color that looks sort of brown but sort of tan. Her mother loves it, and would ALWAYS do her hair in a way that was honorary to her culture. Noemi learned how to do these tricky braids her mom did and likes to do it for her friends now. Her mom loves seeing her in her room with mandy while she does mandys hair.

Lots of people think she and luis are of the same ethnicity and culture and all that, but they really arent. They're boths just tan with curly hair, and thats what makes peopke think so.

Bruna loves her to death, they're besties you're honor. They call eachother their wives as a joke, and it always confuses the jocks to see noemi squeeze bruna like she just returned from war. Bruna also knows how to do some of the braids that noemi does, and since noemi cant do them herself bruna helps.

Bruna misses juri like she misses her grandmother. She thinks he wad the best man to ever live other than her dad and he so wishes he wouldve stuck around long enough so she could at the very least convince her parent to take him with her back to the islands for spring break. She so desperately wanted to show him around and to let him meet her grandmother.

Noemi has light brown eyes that she got from her mom, and they look so insanely pretty in the sun that Ms. Philips asked to capture them in canvas one time when the sun was shining through her class room window just right.

Her cheeks are adorably pudgy. Think of it as baby fat that was never lost.

Loves to bask in the sun and tans like a goddess, the way the sun feels so welcoming and sweet like cuddles just fascinates her. There was one spot back in her grandmothers home at the islands, with a couch right under the window. She sleeps there everythime she visits so she can wake up to the sun shining on her. She photosynthesizes.

Feels odd when mandy says something about mot wanting to grow old, noemi thinks its a priviledge to be able to get old grey and wrinkly, because you'll watch some of the most important generations. She wishes when she gets old that she could be just like her grandmother.

Bruna, Mandy, Noemi, and sometimes even Emery all have sleepovers whenever they can. They are THE friends. Honorable mention; christy USED to be in the group until she spread a rumor about Noemi sobbing about Juri.

she loves anything coconut, peach flavored, and sugary, but in a light way where it doesnt taste TOO sweet.

She's a lifeguard in the summer, a lifeguard that Juri seems to stare at. They have a relationship like wendy and squints from the sandlot after their breakup.
