and like. last post on this but i think a lot of the time people understate the harm that this weird collective game of pretend around fat people being "unattractive" does. it's not just mean or rude or "body negative" and it has very dire implications for us especially when it comes to abuse and sexual violence. i, like the vast majority of fat SA victims in my life, have experienced on multiple occasions disbelief about my assault, that i wasn't "pretty enough" to be victimized, that i must be confused or blowing things out of proportion, even that my abuser did something kind and charitable by bothering to touch me at all. as a fat 13 year old, the first time i was followed home by a man, i was told i should be "flattered" he would even want me; and as overused as the term "gaslighting" can be, it's difficult to think of another word to describe this constant and lifelong denial of our experiences with (often non-consensual, violating, and violent) desire from others. yes, fat people deserve to feel confident in ourselves, but this also isn't just an issue of hurt feelings or low self esteem -- the creation of fat people as a separate and lesser sexual class, as a group to whom attraction is ontologically fetishistic and unnatural and unmentionable, opens us up to greater levels of sexual violence and then continues the abuse by denying us recourse, belief, or even simple comfort. it's bizarre to see people discuss this issue like it's a matter of pure aesthetics and not something that has immediate consequences for our lives and our safety

If you go to a hotel and there's a human skull on the font desk, then that's definitely a point of concern, but it's not, like, a problem. If you go to a hotel and there's a *wall* of skulls, like well over 20 skulls, then that's decoration. You're just lucky enough to be staying in a really cool hotel. But if you go to a hotel and there's anywhere from 2 to 19 skulls, that is a proper problem. You are in a murder hotel

i was watching a video about how regional cheeses are made around the world, and was shown a type of mozzarella called zizzona (the z/zz pronounced like the 'zz' in 'pizza', with a 'tz' sound), which, yes, means "mother's breast".
so rest easy tonight knowing they have titty cheese in italy.

far from prudish but just got blazed porn of someone's pussy spread out so hard and up close like it's a map of the polish-lithuanian commonwealth and I'm king and grand duke sigismund II augustus inspecting his lands to plot defense against the swedes

i literally cannot comprehend the people who act like shipping is some kind of crusade or moral obligation. like if you ask them why they ship something they say “oh it’s groundbreaking representation” or some shit instead of talking about how they like the way the characters interact. obviously representation is important but nobody is going to give you a medal for only shipping wholesome healthy all-natural 100% organic gmo-free pure pairings, you’re allowed to just…have fun. sometimes you just want two characters to kiss. you’re not a bad person for not writing a thousand-page thesis mathematically proving that your otp will end oppression across the globe

psych majors with five act tragedy levels of intellectual hubris are so funny. Hi, I'm twenty one years old, and I've been taking a couple classes a semester for the past couple years: now that we've established I have seen the divine truth of all things, here's the worst take you've ever heard.

trans people who are anti t4t make me so sad. because beyond just not knowing what being t4t means, the fact that they believe that t4t is just being a chaser is indicative of a deeper issue, being that cis people have ingrained the idea that we are unfuckable and unloveable, disgusting by nature, and that anybody who would voice attraction to us, a step further, ONLY CHOOSE TO DATE TRANS PEOPLE, would be a pervert with a disgusting fetish who wont see them as equal.
thats not what t4t is.
t4t is the rejection of the idea that we are inherently disgusting, just because we are in the eyes of a cisnormative society.
t4t is the understanding that we are safer and stronger together as a community than apart.
t4t is seeing your trans boyfriend try on clothes from your old boy wardrobe that you hated growing up but now your least favorite shirt is your favorite because its the perfect shade of red that brings out his eyes.
t4t is teaching your trans girlfriend that has been scared to do her own makeup how youve learned from other trans women, who learned from other trans women, who learned from other trans women.
t4t is doing your testosterone shots together and kissing each others sticks after you put the bandaid on.
t4t is holding the door for your trans girlfriend and showing her the chivalry she didn't get from her dad growing up, but its ok because you can show her now.
t4t is being on the phone with your partner who just came out as trans/nonbinary after seeing you, YOU, live your truth, and them asking you to help them find a new name, the perfect name for them, and you hope theyll carry that part of you forever.
you are trans and that is beautiful. your transness is beautiful. trans love is beautiful. dont let ANYBODY make you feel unworthy of sex or love. THATS what being t4t means.

every post i see that's like "if you're scared of being like [bad person] that's means you're better than them and won't be like them" and it's like. lmao. my dad used to have crying sessions where he would confess his fear of being like his mother and causing me to grow up to hate him. usually after he did something fucking awful, to redirect the attention to his own pain. the girl who sexually assaulted me had panic attacks sometimes about the idea of maybe being a rapist, making it impossible to set sexual boundaries with her without her freaking out. whether you're afraid of being some kind of bad person has basically no bearing on whether you are that way

things that made me stop wanting to die that require no effort whatsoever
change the color used to highlight text on your laptop
move the pictures on your wall
stack whatever clutter is in your room into piles even if you don’t have time to clean it all
slightly vary your commute, even just by one street
change where you sit and scroll aimlessly on your phone even if it’s only to the chair in your room instead of your bed
drink water or juice out of a wine glass in the morning because nothing is real
shower with the lights off, without music
buy $3 flowers at trader joe’s—they look bad next to the more expensive ones but they look so good in your room
start typing things you don’t post into your notes. your thoughts can be worth documenting even if you don’t deem them worth sharing
wake up super early just once. you don’t have to make it a habit it’s just extra satisfying to go to bed that night
listen to the entirety of your favorite album from 2015

Can I still call myself "gothic" if I don't listen to the music, don't take part in the scene, don't know the history, don't wear the clothes, but my structure is supported by large semi-arches extending out and bearing the weight of my walls and ceiling?
