I would like some Charlie facts.

Also facts about souls. You made Husk trans; would that mean he has a male soul in a female body, so when he dies, instead of it being female, it should male. He wouldn't have the biological problems of being tansgender. So Husk should need Birth Control pills... or have periods, right?

How I have it in my rewrite how you apper in hell depends on two things:

1. Who you are physically and

2. Who you are as a person. Like your character.

Let's use Mimzy as a example. Mimzy is a siren. That's why she has her bird legs. The reason she's a siren is because she is a amazing singer and she lures men into her before she robs them. Let's say that Mimzy was transgender when she was alive. If Mimzy would have gotten top surgery then she would have appeared in hell with that top surgery.

The reason husk still has to deal with periods and things along those lines despite being a boy is because he never had surgery when he was alive. (He couldn't afford it.)

Your soul only has to do with your character. Like if you were a bad person. Your soul can effect your appearance but it's mostly litteraly what you looked like.

When there is an aching in your soul, that only you can fix...which way do you run?

There was something lovely about watching the young visitor to Button House who expressed themselves freely and seemed to dance between genders with an ease. Their freedom and joy seemed to brighten the dusty halls.

Yet, in Thomas their joy left an ache that reached deep within. An ache that was hidden long ago, an ache to be understood.

But the current discussion between the ghosts was not doing anything to soothe that ache.

"See back in 'dam I had a transv-"

"Alison said you shouldn't use that word anymore Julian!" Kitty said in a (very put on) stern voice.

"Oh yeah, they are transe-" Pat injeterjected before being interputed by Kitty.

"That's not the right word either Pat! They are transgender, and that person is what they call...non binary." Kitty relayed proudly, as if to display all she learnt.

It was Robin who chimed in now with a shrug. "Had cousin, both boy and girl. It cool."

"Fancinating." The Captain responded, as if almost impulsively.

Thomas, pulled out of the half daze he was in following the sound of his name. Yes his name. Before Thomas could answer, even if he could answer, Julian interputed. "Oh what would he know anyway."

Thomas now stood up, afronted by this. However as he tried to speak he found the words catching on a lump in his throat. "Well I," Frozen into silence in momentary fear his wide eyes met with the confused ones that lined the room around him.

Thomas unfreezing for second took his chance to leave this painful awkward and revealing moment , swiftly and gracefully turning on his heels making a small "Hm" sound.

The last thing he heard before he scuttled out of earshot was Julian's "What got his goat?"

What had gotten his goat that for the first time in two hundred years has someone mentioned it, that it was in the open, his deepest secret.

That he Thomas Thorne was not born man, but became so. That he rejected the trajectory laid out for him the day he was born and christened himself in his own image.

That for two hundred years he lived as a creature so unusual that only now he can give name to his condition. Illuminated now was a path never avaliable to him, the choice to be known as oneself fully. That you could be truthful and open yet still be accepted.

Yet, it was still not the path for him. The light still to bright him. The other may, god willing, be kind; but they'd never understand.

He can barely stand their mockery, their ridicule but to face their confusion would be worse.

So for now he'd live in the shadows, he chose his own happiness long ago.

But for now he'll resign himself to the lake, the truth can wait another day.

It’s Transgender Awareness Week and that happens to line up with a very special Day 10 of talking about my upcoming album, “Ganymede Gives Up The Ghost”!

Why’s it special, you ask? Well, some of you may recognize the illustration for today’s song. I’m truly overjoyed to announce that none other than comedian, writer, and all around nerd-stuff extraordinaire, Riley Silverman, has loaned her vocal talent to provide the voice of The Narrator!

“There’s a Narrator? But this is like a music album, right?” You ask.

Yes, it is! But I’m *theatrical* and *artsy*, so I wanted to amp up the drama for the narrative of Our Hero (don’t know who Our Hero is? Go check out the last few days of posts and learn more about her!)

I’m so tremendously honored to have the chance to work with Riley, who now holds the title of my first official collaboration, and I can’t thank her enough for being a part of such a personal and weird project. If you aren’t familiar with her, or even if you are, please check out “Strumpets and Flagons”, the thirsty-sword-lesbians TTRPG podcast she did last spring, and “Troubled Waters”, which is a podcast on the MaxFun network that she writes for (I know some of my fans are as big of MaxFun fans as I am!)

It’s a song about loneliness. About watching your social circle diminish as you get older, enumerating the people I’ve lost along the way and ruminating on how I lost them. Some for good reasons, some for bad reasons, some for ridiculous reasons. It’s about learning the lesson that you can’t hold onto everything, you can’t make everyone stay, but if you’re good and kind and keep trying, you’ll find new people who will love you, and who you’ll love in return.

Lyrically, I frame the lesson through a lens I’ve always used to connect with friends: music. I replay a few memories with references to songs that have tied me to other people. It’s a weird way of writing that simultaneously felt very foreign and very personal.

they're all always horrible to title but shifting into biggles fandom this year meant my usual mainstay (wordy mountain goats lyrics) felt wrong and so i've started... shudder... Making Up Titles Properly. hardest was probably covert operation, because i wanted SO BADLY to name it after a transgender dysphoria blues lyric but i also wanted it to have cross-appeal with the biggles forumites so 'they just see a faggot' might have ruffled some feathers

A child’s excuse. Harry wanted quite badly to do something equally childish to avoid himself; hide under a blanket or in a cupboard, perhaps, knees to his chest.

John looked at him. Harry tried hard not to squirm like a schoolboy about to be thrashed.

“I know, Harry,” John said, eventually. “I came to find you to ask about your morning, actually. Not to send you into a fit of hysteria.”

“I’m not hysterical,” said Harry. “Leaving aside the strict diagnostic criteria, the etymology alone–”

“I was being facetious,” John replied. He sighed, running a hand through his hair. He’d taken after their mother, hair straight and fine. “Doctor Litefoot sent a telegram. He was not pleased to have his assistant surgeon vanish halfway through an autopsy, let alone one I’d told him would be of great diagnostic help.”

Harry couldn’t speak for a moment. His chest felt tight. “Then I apologise for disappointing you, and him. I thought I would be able to – tolerate it.”

“But not enjoy it,” said John. He looked oddly sad, his forehead creased in a frown. Harry wasn’t sure why.

“Was I supposed to?” He remembered feeling excited about autopsies in the past; his anatomical studies had interested him at the time, of course. He didn’t see how it was relevant.

“You used to enthuse about this,” John replied. “Could hardly keep you away from the museum, or the lecture theatre. Always hearing about some new advancement in surgical practice. And now – Harry, you knew you didn’t have to do this, didn’t you?”

“Of course I did,” said Harry, automatically. “I have to do what you tell me, or–” He stopped.

“Or what, Harry?” John’s voice was gentle; it scraped against Harry’s nerves.

Harry said nothing. He set down the rag and went to the sitting room, where John’s pet tortoise was busily eating half a head of cabbage. The cat, an ageing Persian that Harry had helped nurse as a kitten, padded over and pawed at his leg until he sat on the chaise longue and lifted her onto his lap.

She purred happily as he scratched her behind the ears. She was warm and soft and very content to curl up and doze.

John came to stand in the doorway. Harry glanced up at him, words drying in his throat.

“I don’t know what happened, that you’re so frightened of us,” said John. “I wish I did.”

“If you did, you’d wish you didn’t,” Harry said, softly. “I’m quite sure of that.”

1. What's your oc's gender identity? What's their relationship to their gender?

Zander: He considers himself a cisgender man. He has definitely taken time to actually think about his gender identity but still settled on his assigned gender at birth. Like that one post I saw Cis+, he saw what else was out there but decided he was still good with the default settings. He’s very secure in his own masculinity, he’s not one of those guys who recoils at the idea of anything even slightly “girly” or traditionally feminine, he’s just normal about things, especially when he was younger he had plenty of interests in things that were seen as typically feminine but his friends and family never made him feel like he was any less of a man because of that so he never felt particularly insecure about it. As far as he’s concerned he’s just a guy.

Cain: He’s also a cisgender man but he hasn’t done that much thinking about it. He’s been raised with pretty rigid gender norms and any interests in deviating from that would’ve been severely punished so he never bothered to question it. He’s comfortable as a man, his gender isn’t something he thinks about very often at all. I think if somebody suggested exploring his gender identity a bit more it would scare him like one of those fainting goats.

5. How did you figure out your oc's identity?

I wrote them. It just comes to me over time usually, I don’t typically make characters and decide their identity from the start, and if I do then it’s very likely it’s going to change as writing them makes it more apparent. Both Zander and Cain just. Feel Cis to me. But the more I wrote Wren the more convinced I was he should be transgender. It can also change if I enjoy a particular pairing. Zander and Cain have always given me bisexual vibes but originally Zander leaned much more towards women because originally he was going to end up with a woman. We can see how that went. I heavily considered Wren being aroace for a long time but I really enjoyed the idea of him and Alondra together and I do enjoy a biromantic asexual so he ended up with that. And also he’s me so like I get to slap my labels on him as desired-

What is your favorite artist? - I’m really stuck here! Overall, I’d say either Dave Malloy or the Mountain Goats, but as both will show up later in these questions I want to say someone different. Let’s throw in glass beach band, I think their mixing is fun.

Favorite band? - The Mountain Goats, easily. Band of anthems for psychotic transgender aromantic sickos

Favorite genre? - Musical theatre isn’t technically a genre but come on it is. I used to be really into folk punk but lately I’ve gotten a good mix that I think it’s hard to choose one after that.

Favorite song right now? - I haven’t really been listening to music lately… Let’s say Starburned And Unkissed by Caroline Polachek.

Favorite songwriter? - Dave Malloy. He’s the artist who really got me expanding my tastes in music!

Good song for writing - Whirling-In-Rags, 8 AM by Sea Power. Given its background music in a viddy game with an emphasis on dialogue, it similarly works while making such prose.

Something I’d like to see represented more in music - This is not a thing I have much of an opinion on. I’m pretty satisfied with what I have! Uhhh it’s not particularly lacking but I am always looking for songs where love is repulsive and foreign. Autoclave, for example.

absolutely essential fugio fic! alternate retelling of fugo rejoining passione post-vento. everyone lives au sort of. giorno is down with some sort of stand arrow sickness and it is wearing down on his psyche immensely. jotaro and a very young very funny jolyne meet him and the gang and jotaro connects him with the speedwagon foundation who try and help him out. fugo and giorno have a very excellent dynamic and they’re pretentious weird teens who quote shakespeare at each other and fall in love. probably my favorite fugio fic of all time. ALSO really good bruno stuff here, really heartbreaking too.
