What the Lost Boys think of vampire related media pt.2
After your last vamp media talk you had more questions you absolutely needed the answers to. Some of those answers came more naturally than you thought.
What we do in the Shadows:
-This is their absolute favorite show. It's just something they can all sit down to watch and get a nice laugh.
-David was actually the one that suggested it to the group
-He thinks it's about as close to what being a really vampire is like.
-You brought up your last conversation about why no vampire media could be so close to the real thing and he quickly responded with “Vampires are made up to be these gross demon creatures with no self control, when in fact most vampires were just normal humans going about their life.”
-He knew that no one in this show actually knows any vampires because of inconsistencies, but it's as close to it as they can all get without having to kill anyone for it.
-”Are you off your tits, boy?” “He is.”
-Paul quotes the show all the damn time (And so do the others but he is the main culprit.)
-you actually can't get him to stop
-”I became a vampire to suck blood and to fuck forever.”
-”No fuck off. Can't be side tracked with cheap sex potions.”
-Need an answer to any questions? Paul will respond with “Coprophilia.”
-Marko is giggling at Paul's quotes and answers with his own
-”Pizza pie” :D
-”He's my sweet cheese!”
-”She speaks the bullshit.”
-His favorite character is Nadja of course
-You have to pry him away from the T.V if you need him to do something else
-Dwayne will stop whatever he's doing if you offer to watch WWDITS with him
-He loves the historical references and gags
-He relates to Guillermo most of the time, being one of the voices of reason in his Chaos Coven
-”i was thinking w-” “we should finish each other off and tell no one?” “I’m game if you are.” ✨Spooky music✨
•This show is permanently engraved into their brain
•You can take the boys out of WWDITS but you can not take the WWDITS out of the boys
Hotel Transylvania:
-Paul squints at the T.V “This has to be a crime to watch.”
-Dwayne without turning away from the T.V “Dracula is going to go ape shit when he sees this “
-David eats his popcorn slowly “at least there is other monsters in this movie.”
-Marko is giggling at the Blob and Scream Cheese “I fucking love kids movies.”
-All of them hated the village scene though.
Kid vampire:
-They all watch it because Laddie wanted them too
-All you can hear for the next few days is “Kid Vampire!” in that accent
-David and Dwayne thought the bogger nose bleed drink was absolutely disgusting.
-Like to the point the both gagged.
-Paul thinks it a cute little project
-Marko likes how they say ‘blood’
-Dwayne uses the song “Vampire brush” to get Laddie to brush his teeth
Monster High:
-Marko and Paul sing the theme song semi consistently
-”Monster-monster high! monster high! monster-monster high! Freaky, sheek, and fly, monster high, where student bodies lay.”
-”We got spirits, yes we do! We got spirits, how bout you!?”
-This is another show they all watch with Laddie
-David isn't a raving fan, but he can stand it
-”Draculaura is a bit of a lazy name.” “Clawdeen wolf? Lagona blue? Cleo De Nile? Everyone has a lazy name because it's a kids show!”
-Dwayne is secretly into it and asks Laddie to watch it with him so he has an excuse
Thanks for reading <3
Yes I saw the comment you wanted me to see. Don't think I was ignoring you, I just had to find other media to talk about. (I stalk my own page like a Hyena. It's a little sad tbh lmao)

˚ ₊ ‧ ♡ SCAREDY CAT — feat. heizou event masterlist.
synopsis. it seemed like the perfect way to spend the spooky season: watching old horror movies together and laughing at how hilariously not scary they were. but this one is much more... chilling than you were expecting. warnings. none! (i don't think so??) notes. requested by the lovely @objectionloser! can be read as platonic or romantic. fluff. modern au. gn!reader. 1.6k words.
“You’ve got the snacks?” You called over your shoulder, carefully setting up the television. The old DVD player you connected was coated in a thick layer of dust, but quickly sprang to life with a dull chime. You slid the disc into the slot, waiting for it to click into place.
“Yep. M&Ms, soda… and popcorn, of course.” Heizou hummed as he entered the living room, arms full of food and drink. He placed the items down on the coffee table, arranging the bowl of popcorn right in the middle. “You’ve got the movie?”
“Yep.” You fiddled with the buttons on the remote, pausing to let the television turn on. “It’s all set up and ready when you’re ready.”
“I’m ready.” Heizou flicked the light switch, coating the room in darkness, lit up by the dull glow of the television screen. He grinned at you, face cast in shadows. “Are you ready?”
You nodded once, placing the remote down on the coffee table and settling into the couch. Heizou sat down at your side, tossing a blanket over to cover you both. He brought the popcorn closer, placing it in the space on the couch between you.
“So where did you get this movie, anyway?” You asked, grabbing a handful of popcorn. On the screen, a poorly edited title card flashed across some shaky footage of a forest.
The Haunting of Oak Manor. Even the title sounded cliché.
“Itto,” Heizou tore open a packet of M&Ms, picking out a few red ones and tossing them into his mouth. The movie finally began, with the screen shifting to show the outside of a rundown mansion. “He has a whole collection of old movies from his grandma, so I asked him to find me the worst-looking horror movie he could find.”
“And he chose this one?” You took a glance at the back of the DVD case. There wasn’t a proper cover, the only sign that it was the right movie was the title scrawled across the plastic in blue sharpie.
“It’s one that he used to watch as a kid. Apparently it’s so bad it’s funny, from what he can remember at least.”
You hummed in assent, eyes glued to the screen. The scene shifted to show the main character, a pouty teenage girl with big headphones and a gray sweater. As she leaned back in her seat, murmuring something about not wanting to move to a new house, her parents scolded her from the front.
“The mother's gonna die first.” Heizou mumbled through a mouth filled with popcorn. “Then the father. Girl's gonna survive though.”
“You making a bet?”
Heizou barked out a laugh. “Do you really want to lose money betting against me?”
You paused. “No.”
He turned his attention back to the screen, chuckling at the over-dramatic acting. “So, the previous owners died in the manor, yet they still decide to move in? Honestly, they're practically asking to be killed by a vengeful spirit.”
“Might as well be holding up a sign saying 'please haunt me!'” You scoffed, watching the girl explore the creepy surroundings of the house. Despite the subpar acting skills of the cast, and the painfully cliched premise, the soundtrack was surprisingly fitting for the movie. The music was eerie, and each sound effect made your hair stand on end.
You shivered, huddling under the blanket further. It wasn't as if you were scared, but the sound design was apt at setting you on edge. Heizou glanced over, a small smirk growing on his face. “Don't tell me the spooky house is scaring you?”
“Of course not,” you huffed, ignoring his snickers. You focused solely on the screen, watching intently as the girl slowly pulled away a sheet to reveal a large oil painting. With a gasp, she looked in horror at a portrait of herself staring back at her.
“Creepy...” You breathed out.
“Creepy, and predictable.” Heizou laughed.
Maybe the detail was predictable to Heizou, but it was still enough to unsettle you further. The movie continued, and the strange happenings in the manor piled up until the main character was jumping at every noise and peering around corners with fear in her eyes. The mysterious portrait was followed by doors slamming by themselves, glass shattering without warning, and a message of 'get out' appearing on the walls.
The scenes were tropey and cliche, but there was still something chilling about it. Perhaps the dramatized acting wasn't as laughable as you'd thought, if the same fear was spilling through the screen and making you shiver.
Eventually the girl snapped, after seeing the shadows of the house shift and move into a figure of a person reaching out to her. She ran to her mother, begging her to run far away from the mansion.
“You don't get it!” She cried, clinging to her mother's sleeve like she was a child. “There's something evil in this house!”
“I'm getting tired of this,” Her mother sighed, pulling her sleeve free. She folded her arms across her chest, stepping back and frowning at her daughter. With her back turned to the wall, she was oblivious to the way the shadows moved. “There is nothing in this—Argh!”
“Mother!” The girl screamed, as the older woman was grabbed by the shadowy figure and slammed against the wall. Before her eyes, the mother’s body was shoved through the open window behind her, tumbling down three stories until she landed on the ground with a sickening crack.
“Told you!” Heizou crowed, not looking scared in the slightest. “Mother dies first.”
“Isn't this supposed to be a terrible horror movie?” A nervous laugh bubbled out of your mouth, disguising the way your throat was tightening. It really wasn't that scary, and the effects weren't that realistic, but your heart was still pounding.
“Aw, is it too much for you? You want me to hold your hand?” Heizou's voice was teasing, but there was a trace of worry underneath. “We can put on something else—”
“No!” You quickly cut him off, fixing your eyes on the screen and ignoring the way your skin crawled. You weren't a coward, you could make it through a horror movie, especially one as dull as this.
Heizou stared at them for a moment. “If you say so...”
And so, the movie continued.
The father was killed off next, as Heizou predicted, but for some reason your companion didn't seem interesting in bragging about his correct guess. Maybe the scariness was starting to get to him too.
The girl's mission to kill the evil spirit of the house led to the discovery of a creature lurking in her walls, seemingly at the beck and call of the ghost. Her determination sharpened into a weapon of its own, as she prepared herself to hunt it down.
By then, you couldn't pull your eyes away, heart slamming in your chest. For the first time in the entire movie, Heizou was deadly still beside them, his own eyes wide. The pair huddled closer together, staring at the screen with bated breath.
The main character, equally as fearful, crept quietly through the halls with a steak knife in her hand. There was blood staining her clothes, but a spark of determination in her eyes. She tiptoed towards an object covered with a sheet, pulling it away with a flourish to reveal—
A chair.
She breathed out in relief, and the scene fell silent. One moment passed by slowly... then another... then—
Then, there was a guttural screech and a hideous monster appeared, lunging at the girl. It sprung towards her, all teeth and claws aiming for her throat.
You shrieked at the sight, squeezing your eyes shut.
But at the same moment that the creature leapt out on the screen, a cold hand fell onto your shoulder, the touch sending your panic into overdrive. Your heart stopped, your mind went blank, and a frantic scream tore from your throat, harmonizing with the girl on screen.
Your screech was enough to shock Heizou into screaming as well, and you both recoiled sharply away from the hand. In your panic, the blanket tangled around your legs, making you lose your balance and tumble from the couch in a pile of limbs and popcorn.
You cowered from whatever had reached out for you, shielding your face with your hands. It had to be a ghost, a creature of some kind, just like in the film.
But instead of charging at you, the light switch was abruptly turned on. The harsh light blinded you momentarily, but blinking away the spots in your vision revealed your assailant was none other than... Itto?
“I'm not that scary, am I?” He looked almost hurt by the idea.
“Itto! What are you doing here?” You didn't know whether to feel relieved that you weren't being attacked by an evil spirit, or angry at him for frightening you so much.
“I'm just returning the board game I borrowed. You didn't answer when I knocked, so I just used the spare key.” Itto shrugged nonchalantly, as if he didn't just scare the living daylights out of you.
“Why would you just grab my shoulder randomly? You almost gave me a heart attack!” You hissed, still shaking slightly.
“I was trying to get your attention! And you seemed really focused, I didn't think you'd hear me!” Itto protested. “I didn't think!”
“Maybe... think, next time.” Heizou said through gritted teeth.
Itto's look of remorse was only momentary, his face brightening as he noticed the screen. “You're watching the movie! How is it? Not scary at all, right?”
You and Heizou exchanged a look.
“Nah,” Heizou eventually replied, a weak smile on his face. “It's nothing.”

Late Writeblr Intro!
Hello, friends!
I figured it was about time I made an actual blog intro of my own since I forgot to make one when I started this blog last year. Better late than never, lmao!
Pls, reblog, like, and/or reply to help boost the blog! 💕
Let's get started:
Personal Stuff! 💜🩶🖤
My name is Anna/Anya but you can call me Mystic, Ducky, or just Anya on this blog! My personal nickname is Ani and I adore it (:
I am an Asexual woman (my pronouns are she/her!) and I'm also personally an atheist who puts my faith in the spirits of Mother Nature, though I respect all other religions equally!
I'm Gen Z and Latina (Brazilian). I was raised bilingual (Brazilian Portuguese + English) and I love learning languages - currently, I'm working on learning French and Spanish! Career-wise I am studying in college to become a character designer and hopefully animator, as I want to pursue a career as an artist and writer! I also wish to have my WIPs published in the near future (:
Some fun facts about me!
My favorite shows are Critical Role, Game of Thrones, Castlevania, The Legend of Vox Machina (animated series), Star Wars, Voltron, The Dragon Prince, Avatar the Last Airbender, Legend of Korra, and DC Comics content, as well as many more lmao. I love watching movies and series!
My favorite Vox Machina characters are Vax'ildan and Percy (:
I am a younger sister 💖
My hair is short and curly (pixie style, similar to the haircut Rapunzel has at the end of the Tangled movie!)
I adore listening to music, especially songs that can inspire me to write my WIPs! Playlists are a huge part of my writing process and something I really enjoy making.
I'm currently rereading Shadow and Bone (+ Six of Crows) and I am always looking for more good dark fantasy/historical fantasy books to read so book recs are always welcome! I also am a huge fan of the Percy Jackson series and Trials of Apollo (by Rick Riordan), though I'm usually more of a gritty/dark fantasy fan (like Game of Thrones)!
I have three dogs and two cats!😺🐶
I know how to play the piano, though I haven't done that in a while because things have been chaotic for me, but I'd like to start playing regularly again in my winter vacation.
I have worn glasses since I was 5 years old and have terrible eyesight without them (and some days with them, lol, so bear with me).
My friends and I are doing a DnD campaign every Sunday, where I play as a half-elf rogue named Aeryn (he/him). I'm adoring this adventure so far, it's so fun!!!
I love to bake and am rather good at it, but am a painfully average cook lmao (some specific recipes I make are actually rlly good, but it depends a lot on my mood and the 'alignment of the stars' lol)
I want to learn how to knit/crochet! 🧶
I'm a theater nerd and love musicals (:
About my Writing!🏹⌛
I write fictional works mostly in the genre of fantasy (high fantasy/epic fantasy/dark fantasy/historical fantasy/urban fantasy, etc. You name it!) and science fiction (space opera/cyberpunk/superhero, etc).
My works usually revolve around themes such as epic quests, secrets, adventure, rebels fighting an oppressive system, sibling bonds, acceptance/respect, outcasts, and much, much more! I love fluff and whump equally, and though my stories tend to focus on serious topics (or at least darker/heavier themes) within a fantasy/sci-fi setting, I like to have a good bit of humor, lighthearted fun, and comedy to my stories to lighten up the mood!

Finally got a chance to write a few thoughts about Lana last night. She looked like a completely different person than she did just a few months ago. She dyed her hair lighter, had a stunning outfit and was clearly glowing with happiness and serving face with that makeup. It reminded me of vintage Lana. Arriving on a motorcycle was very fitting.
Lana headlining Coachella seems like she got a sort of glow and confidence back. Or at least she’s taking in this celebratory moment for her as an artist who has shaped pop culture for the better part of almost 13 years.
She has said in the past that shes not an entertainer, shes a singer. So doing Coachella may not translate. Those who get it, get it. To some, her set may have not hit, but until you experience Lana live and feel the energy, you probably never will.
This was one of the most put together shows I’ve seen from her lately that truly showed her range, her vast discography and ethereal beautiful melancholic soundscapes she dreams up. The vocals were amazing and you could hear them (mostly - there were a few times she had to ask Byron to adjust the volume). The stage set was complete and both Lana and the dancers seemed prepared to move around it and it showed. Even with the quiet transitions the prospect of what would happen next still hid in the shadows of suspense.
I do believe she wants to do her best at every show and she loves to see the fans. But don’t expect a high energy set. Fans know what they’re getting and they continue to sing every word faithfully. I will say there was room to add a few more songs with a beat lol, she’s definitely got them!
And don’t get me started on her bringing out Billie to perform Ocean Eyes and Video Games… just INSANELY AMAZING. The chemistry. I love how much they love each other. There’s a lot of Lana’s influence in Billie, and they really seem like kindred spirits.
And Jack coming out to perform Hope Is A Dangerous Thing For A Woman Like Me To Have - But I have It with a stunning hologram of Lana and then he just leaves. Very on brand.
You have to watch with headphones and the volume turned up to experience her live band and vocals and really immerse yourself.
Also, the odes to her past in the video that played before ride and people screaming at certain parts— it truly captured the cultural impact Lana has made in the last decade.
Ever since Born To Die came out in 2012 she has shaped popular culture with her unique musical style and tone. Her voice and the nostalgic production combined transported us to another dimension and we’ve all been different since and you felt that last night. The impact she’s had.
While being one of the most influential artists and lyrical poets of our generation, Lana has often been overlooked for her contributions to music, songwriting and setting trends. She has been nominated for 11 Grammys, included several AOTY, she has not won one. I find that crazy.
Anyways, the last song was Young and Beautiful and after she exited on a motorcycle to a Gatsby-esque Jazz outro and fireworks… you know the vintage lover in me got chills to the sound of a transition into an instrumental version of Heartaches by Al Bowlly, and it slowly drowned out (you just have to hear it… saw someone say it was backrooms music — which not not true) and I love it.
So proud of you Lana! I’d definitely say to tune in again next weekend for more surprises 🤍

Since I've been into Bauhaus for years and B-T members have mentioned them as an influence, going deep into the roots is something I enjoy. I wasn't sure of writing this (long post), but the two bands are really important at a personal level, gonna share some thoughts.
The first time I watched Physical Neurose PV, the aesthetics inmediately reminded me of Telegram Sam MV. Sakurai has mentioned that he enjoyed "Shadow of Light" (1984), an archive with promotional videos of the band. So, it's possible he got some inspiration from it.
youtube
Physical Neurose (1988)
youtube
Telegram Sam (1980)
Tbh, there are several interviews where Sakurai (love him for being enthusiastic about the band) shows his appreciation for them, their image and Peter Murphy's vocals. He has highlighted Mask and The Sky's Gone Out as important records since he was a teenager.
It is well known that B-T members enjoy post-punk and goth bands, Imai's love for Love & Rockets, and Hidehiko and Yuta have also shown interest in Bauhaus and Peter Murphy's solo albums. They even got Daniel Ash in Schiz.o Genso -the spiderman mix-.
Six/nine videos also make me recall Bauhaus live at Riverside (1982), look at Murphy's outfit, body language, his extravagant dance moves, and the spotlight game. Also, Ash & Murphy dynamics on stage were similar to Atsushi & Hisashi in early performances.
Another example of getting inspiration from the English band might be in the title of "Mr. Darkness and Mrs. Moonlight", which made me remember "Who Killed Mr. Moonlight". Maybe it's a coincidence but as a fan, it didn't go unnoticed.
And of course here, I'm going to mention The Mortal's cover of Spirit <3 (I was very moved when I listened to this cover for the first time).
Gonna add this Bauhaus live version too 'cause it's so good and when you watch The Mortal's live version you can tell that Sakurai has possibly watched this performance at least once.
youtube
I recommend to watch that entire show (Gotham, 1999), if you like vampiric costumes, hats and boas.
I'd like to include Hamlet Machine & Sponge Spirit cover, which can be found in the Satori: A Tribute To Bauhaus (1998) album:
youtube
I'll finish by saying that Issay & Atsushi went to watch Murphy's live shows together during the 90s, soo lovely! It's cool to see how music connects people and inspires.

Hatchetfield anon here, and good to know it's fine to gush about them. (Had to Switch off from anonymous to send images :p)
The first one (and possibly less spoiler heavy) would probably be the diva, the queen bee-atch herself: Linda Monroe.
She's from Black Friday and she just scratches that part of my brain that's attracted to dommy rich ladies. She's important, her children are better than everyone else's, and though she thinks her husband is a sniveling fool, she appreciates his loyalty at least. She has a whole song about how she'll make everyone love her ("Adore Me". Quote: "You'll kneel before me, Kiss my toe"), and honestly? She's not wrong. Lot of people fell for the cult "exciting new little religion" that she started (me included. Lauren Lopez just eats her roles right the fuck up).
Then, of course, you have the cooky, reclusive, biology professor: Professor Hidgens.
Mad scientist mixed with theater kid vibes. Literally. He's as extra as you can imagine. And what I like best about him is that he's a "greater good" kind of villain. As soon as he realizes the alien hive mind that's turning the whole town into a musical (not the craziest part of this entire series, by far) could be humanity's last shot at world peace, he's all, "Okay. Yeah. Let's join the hive!", knocking out his allies, opening up the doors of his doomsday bunker, and attracting the hive zombies with his own, recently composed song, "Show Stopping Number" (quote: "it'll unify humanity, in a THUNDERING CHORUS! No exists from this Broadway venue~!"), which mixes in a except from the musical he wrote and was trying to get funding for called "Working Boys".
And finally, we have the most recent ones: Max Jagerman, and Grace Chastity.
Where do I start with Grace... She's a repressed Christian girl who thinks having no sexual thoughts until marriage is supposed to be the norm. Then she starts getting dirty thoughts, kills a man, gets her hands on a book full of rituals powered by eldritch beings and decides, "yeah. This is what I want to do with my life. Seducing pervy dudes and then, if they don't pass the vibe check, consume their soul in order to make me stronger..." One good day away from murder, really, as evidenced by her leading the songs "Bury the Bully" and "Dirty Dudes Must Die". Never really expected a character who has the canonical line "[after character A asks why character B would be in hell] -She's bisexual and dead, where else would she be?" to grow on me so strongly, and yet-
And finally we get to Max Jagerman. The unapologetically bastard of a jock with a God complex ("Don't need no one to tell me / High school will be my peak / So I'm willing to take advantage"). The way everyone paints him as this horrible monster in, well, "Literal Monster", and he doubles down on that when it becomes his turn to sing instead of the expected "I'm not *that* much of a monster, here's my redeeming qualities"... Even when his ghost is being sent to the shadow realm he reacts to it by literally saying "WORTH IT!". He's just hits all the right notes for me. The entirety of "Dirty Girl" was sung directly into my soul.
And i think that's about it for my rambling. Now I leave you with the knowledge that Grace and Max's most popular ship name (that I've seen) is "Holy Ghost/Spirit". Sorry for rambling and have a nice day!
THESE ALL SOUND SO GOOD! I definitely wanna watch these now, or at least just listen to the songs 😅😅😅
I don't even know where to start here! I cant even choose a favourite out of your descriptions!! Thank you so much!! Linda sounds completely like my type XD Oh- I have that same brain-part that makes you crave dommy rich ladies XD Especially if they're mean 😅 I'm happy to be a loyal spineless husband for a pretty woman with a sharp tongue XD Happy.
And Professor Hidgens looks promising too XD If you've been following my Callaghan meltdown you know I have a... Thing... for teachers ☠ And OH, just the way you've described him. 'knocking out his allies, opening up the doors of his doomsday bunker, and attracting the hive zombies with his own, recently composed song, "Show Stopping Number"'- Y E S. I'm all for this.
And- just- Grace and Max sound absolutely perfect XD She seems so gross and awful which I l o v e (When female villains get to be truly despicable and broken??? 👌👌👌), and him?? A villain being exactly (if not worse then) what everyone says??? Absolutely obsess-worthy.
#i n e e d them actually.#thank you soooo much for this!! i'm so into them now!! need to listen to the songs at l e a s t.#i hope you have a wonderful day too ^^ 💛

A Song With Ten Names
Chapter 19: Yes, to Err is Human, So Don't Be One (3)
Chapter 1 ☆ Next chapter ☆ AO3 ☆ Featured song playlist
Summary of chapter: The thicker the water, the more weeds for sirens to hide in. Secrets, secrets, secrets. Their flavor is so delicious to the split plant man.
Author's Note: The sung song in this chapter is Come Along by Cosmo Sheldrake. As before, the title and the chapter breaks are lyrics from Yes, to Err is Human, So Don't Be One by Will Wood.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
I could take your life, if you're done with it, sweetheart
You still picking at that? Only ate the good parts
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
The woman...is a horrible liar.
In her mind, hiding behind the props around her musical stage are the clarinets, the oboes and the drums. They rise from the cattails, the tall grass and brambly bushes— instruments that either don’t exist here or are simply not available to her. All the same, the symphony is in the stranger’s mind, and that’s enough. This murky atmosphere and the song of lost souls go hand in hand like lovers trying to run away, eloped and gone forever. She remembers, that first day with Hidan, that man in love with another who planned to escape to the land of the stars, who unwittingly snuck her a backstory for this character she’s become.
The promise to live has made the woman forget her promise to not come here without Kakuzu.
The edge of the lake is muckier and rockier the farther she circles to the south end, the farthest from her home she’s abandoned tonight, coming here so foolishly by her lonesome. The moisture of the mud sinks between bare toes, tells her that marshland may near by.
How perfect.
She follows the cattails’ path, walks underneath twisty gnarls of old trees, their branches stretched overhead like gates as she imagines herself stepping into a magical realm. Is she already in one? Doesn’t matter too much. There’s different kinds of magic, and the kind that contains death isn’t really one she wants to dwell on more than necessary.
The intro to this composition is long, and she sings onomatopoeia breathy and dramatic as the instrumental needs, swings her hands and arms and steps in a waltz. Shadows grow taller as she wanders deeper into gloomy perdition; it should terrify her, but danger is familiar. The parasites that accompany such untamed ecosystems don’t intimidate her, even as she leaves her shoes by the clearer water.
The spirit of the trees watches her spin around in her white nightgown, the shape of her visible beneath as moonlight shines through the thin cloth. A few final “bum bum bum”s, and finally she gets to sing. It’s as close as one can get to inviting the ghosts in without your ouija board.
Come along, catch a Heffalump
Sit with me on a muddy clump
We'll sing a song of days gone by
Fireflies are re-imagined as sprites, little chimes as their voices that reply much as bells do in the original song. Dum, dee, dum, dee. Hands stretch to each one like a band's conductor; then fingers pinch their fingers and twist by her wrists, like they're plucking and shaking the fairydust out of the bugs' wings.
Run along now, don’t be glum
Get you gone, now, have some fun
Don't be long, for the end is nigh
Dancing is not something she has done, not in front of the others, but here surrounded by the dank of stagnant water and the thick oxygen of the rooted plants, there is no other choice. She is alone. She gets to be the archetype she’s always wanted to be: the fairy in the forest, the witch of the woods, the siren of the swamp. Change is stirring in the air and it needs a bit of stewing, a bit of time in a watchful magician’s cauldron lest the concoction of time and fate begin to form a scum on the top, like milk does when left alone in a mug for too long. Itachi and Tobi and Kakuzu and Hidan and Kisame, in separate degrees and directions, know her biggest secret and shame. She can finally let go, at least in some sense. She has no calendar on paper but as generations before did, the traveler can still see days pass. The grass is yellowing at the tips and her roses are beginning to wilt. Summer is ending, autumn nearly begun. Her favorite seasons are the ones of change, where the scent in the wind carries another aroma than just heat or cold, where either the perfume of blooms or the rot of dead leaves leave a taste in the back of her mouth just from being outside for a minute or two.
Don't let moments pass along
And waste before your eyes
Winter is her hardest time of the year, and she is afraid, but autumn will make it worth it. The fall will help her prepare for a tumble through the blizzards to come. The ribbon is untied from her hair, held in her hand and swirled around like a flag as locks bounce mussed and free.
March with me and the borogoves
Come with me and the slithy toves
And never ask us why
Autumn is the time of mysteries, whimsies, and magics. That’s why a silly girl is out by her lonesome, asking the life around her to come along, come play where prying eyes can’t see.
She may be a performer, but she is still a horrible liar. The spirit of the trees witnesses her in her folly, raw and vulnerable and so very eager to get lost. He watches her hop and clap and skip in the way one only can when they believe they are truly all alone.
Come, come, come, come, come along now
Run away from the hum-drum
We'll go to a place that is safe from
Greed, anger and boredom
We'll dance and sing till sundown
And feast with abandon
We'll sleep when the morning comes
And we'll rise by the sound of the birdsongs
Perhaps her lack of sleep for these starlit dreams is catching up with her, as with one extra spin she sees a shadow grow over her shoulder, sees the jagged, toothy shapes on the soaked grass ahead begin to crack open like an egg, revealing the shape of a human head. Abruptly, it is known that this is not simply getting herself dizzy.
“AH!”
She trips as she attempts to spin on her heel, and for the third time since they’ve properly met, Zetsu catches her in his arms. His eyes— one complete and one merely a circle— shine like will-o-wisps, like her fireflies that flutter blinking lights around the ankles and knees.
The spirit of the trees smiles ever so softly with half of his face.
“So...you’re a little ghost after all.” Nearly like Tobi did before, she’s kept in this dip, forced to feel herself in his grasp, at his mercy lest gravity take her the rest of the way down. She watches the way that his arms grasp not through his sleeves but the middle of his cloak, like the massive green structure around his skull must go further down his body than just the shoulders. It’s all too staggering for her to have a quip, an explanation more than stuttering “I-I-I-”s. He’s so calm; is he mad?
Wait…
She finds her tongue, the monster’s namesake.
“A...ghost?”
“Yes, of course you are. I can see it now,” White Zetsu speaks more to himself than to her, yellow orbs drinking her in. Then he and the dark one take turns in their revelation:
“The fear.”
“The whimsy.”
“The affinity for death.”
“The desire to live.”
What the heck is he talking about?! The only thing on her mind, now that she can talk, is to try to get herself out of trouble, wiggle out of his hands. “What? What are you— Huh—?” His one full eye crinkles the bottom lid up as he grins. To her horror, it is distinctly in tease.
“You’re not allowed outside alone, you know.”
Electricity shivers down her spine, makes her breath hitch as he looms over her. She tries to counter: “I— I was told so. Kakuzu told me—”
“You misunderstand.” As Black Zetsu speaks, she gives a surprised, questioning hum, still tinged musical. The white one picks it back up: “I don’t mean that you need to prompt someone to go with you, lest you misbehave.” And black delivers the blow, voice so deep it nearly makes her see a scowl on a blank face:
“You are never alone when you step out those doors.”
Holy shit.
The woman swallows, frog from the lake having jumped in her throat, making her eyes wide and boggling like she is one herself. Breathless lips part. Does this mean what she thinks it means?
Beyond shadow of a doubt, the terrible answer is yes.
“Our little ghost,” Zetsu confirms, both voices at once. He knows. He heard everything.
She wants to scream but she can’t. Simultaneously, a black arm wraps around her back possessively, making her unable to so much as squirm. The white hand reaches up, and almost as if he’s never had opportunity to touch another human being, an index finger trails its fingertip from an invisible target ring on her forehead, down the bridge of a nose that should grow in length for each and every lie, down to the lips that release her secrets. Zetsu loves secrets; they’re almost as delicious as the freshly dead.
“...Let’s strike a deal,” the unearthly creature bargains. The scent of pollen wafts around her again, so soft it’s underneath the stank of the swamp, but so distinct she remembers it from the last time Zetsu held her, upside down from a tree.
It isn’t necessary, per say, to hide that she is dead, but Zetsu finds no harm in a bit of playtime. Where would the fun be found if he didn’t find a way to keep every piece of the puzzle under his thumb, have leverage in case it is necessary? Let her believe it changes her fate. Eyebrows furrow underneath haunted wide eyes. Yes, of course she accepts the wager, but what is it she must give in turn?
Zetsu either hasn’t decided yet or is keeping it a secret. His answer is too plain, to cryptic, too charming to be the truth:
“Continue,” he demands, light voice airy like he’s trying to draw out her breath with a spell. “Dance. Sing. With me.”
…
The frog in her throat sinks down to her stomach. Her voice is free. Ironically, the amphibian from the night with Kakuzu is no longer here to sing in her place, to fill the silence. Eyeballs twitching in their sockets evaluate the split man, the greatest mystery of all, in all of this twisty-turny dream. He’s made of stuff from nightmares, yes: stark black and white divided and unreal, character design that screams “carnivore”, the way she can never tell what he’s supposed to mean when he speaks.
But.
But.
What are fairy tales if not making the nonsensical, uncomfortable palatable? With the parting of her lips the deal is struck, as if she has a choice. The stranger sings him her story with no need to pick up from the beginning. He was there for that, and she knows it. She begins stiff at first, voice quiet now that she’s being so intensely scrutinized. Zetsu raises her at a matching, theatrical pace, gradually from dipped to upright, a hand firm upon her back and one placing its fingers delicately under her chin. Blunt teeth peek from half a smile.
The first thing, after all, that the spy admitted about her is how well she does sing.
We'll be here when the world slows down
And the sunbeams fade away
Keeping time by a pendulum
As the fabric starts to fray
These lyrics are truer than she ever realized. Will it be this way, just like that? Just him and her till the end of her time, till the sand in the hourglass tumbles down its last grain? Bi-colored hands loosen once she's back on her own unshoed feet, the black one slipping back into his cloak as the white one begins to tug at the fabric. The stranger watches, evaluates as the monster reveals more of his inhuman body. Even so, even struck with this sight, she must continue:
There’s no such thing as time to kill
Nor time to throw away
This near whisper knows the next part of the melody is louder; if she doesn’t meet the need it presents, it will be obvious. She feels her shoulders rise and fall with a panicked breath she tries to control, waiting as he begins to undress. The red clouds slip to the ground, soaking the damp of the earth. He’s split black and white as far down his torso as remaining clothes allow sight of. In a flex— almost like a stretch, waking up in the morning— the massive leaves fold downward to skirt his waist, his arms now free to do entirely as they please...
They are held forward, palms up and waiting. The diptych man continues to send mixed messages with his face.
...Entirely free for her to take back and perhaps, perchance, pretend that she is in control. A hand of fate and a hand of chance are held in either of her own, and she spins one...
So, once for the bright sky
Two...
Twice for the pig sty
Three times...
Thrice for another day
...As she counts her lives and wonders if maybe she can get one more.
The chorus is given another go, and she attempts to skip and jump and dance with the fae that has never left her side. He's somehow halfway between stiff and melting so very, very easily.
Come, come, come, come, come along now
Run away from the hum-drum
We'll go to a place that is safe from
Greed, anger and boredom
The only retort to such a being is to either play wholeheartedly or not join the game at all; the latter is no longer an option. The performer prays to the gods of night that she may never give him her real name in her sleep, and she swings them around with nothing to lose. He won’t be satisfied by dance alone, surely…
...But part of her enjoys being chased, doesn’t it?
We'll dance and sing till sundown
And feast with abandon
We'll sleep when the morning comes
And we'll rise by the sound of the birdsongs
Clarinets again, just in her head. She must attempt to sound them out, humming and dumming so the split man gets some sort of idea of the waltz with sprites and things undead. Is that her now? Is she undead?
Come with me, catch a rare type specimen
Cuddle up with a hesitant skeleton
We'll break our fast with friends
Once we're fed, we shall disappear rapidly
Many moons to the west of here and happily
Our journey never ends
He whispers again, mouth brushing against her neck as he pulls her close in one of these whimsical steps into the unknown, the tone too uncertain to her ears: “Our little ghost.”
Shut your ears when sirens sing,
Tie armbands to your feet
Midnight honeysuckle’s scent is so thick she’ll smell it on herself for a week. The performer closes her eyes, pretends this is all a dream, and twirls with he that may take it all away. There is one comfort: the dream doesn’t have to end if she doesn’t fall asleep, if she doesn’t have something to wake up from. Perhaps the monster knows this is all she’ll ever want.
Listen up and you won't go wrong again
Float along on a verse-less song and then
Get to where the two ends meet
Perhaps now the monster can feel some semblance of control, over the strange spell the witch casts, the song the siren sings that lure others in. Perchance he is playing too much. Zetsu wonders if her sort of death has a different kind of taste, marinated in pale, moonlit gloom and steeped in the irony of human gods.

You asked about Housewarden’s favourite video games…but what about Vice Housewardens? Ignoring the in-game canon video games, what do you think their favourites would be??
(My friend is referring to this post HERE.)
Thanks for the ask, friend! I'm super excited to write this! I hope you like my answers!! Also, do note that even though the game never outright says Ruggie or Ortho are "vice house wardens" they're treated as such in game.
As per my last rules: I'll only talk about video games I've had personal experiences with. If a game is part of a series and I think they're basically similar, I'll just list them all together. Also, I'm trying to avoid any mobile/gacha/MMOs just because 1) I'm super unfamiliar with most and 2) I want to pick mostly PC and console games.
The Vice House Warden's Favourite Video Games
Trey - Cooking Mama (1 and 2)
Is there any contest for me with this one? Now, I do admit, I never really played Cooking Mama myself. However, my neighbour, who I grew up with, played Cooking Mama 1. I remember watching him play it, so I think that counts towards personal experiences. Anyways, this game is perfect for Trey! It's all around cooking and perfecting the different recipes! I think he'd love that element to it! There are also many different techniques and ways to do the various recipes, so it presents a challenge for Trey. However, it's one of those games that people only complete if they're completionists, which I don't think Trey is. So, he can put it down whenever he wants because he's a casual gamer.
Ruggie - Mario Kart (any of the games)
For Ruggie I think Mario Kart is the perfect game! Do know in my heart it's Double Dash as that's the one I'm most familiar with, but I'm saying any because the core element of the game is the same: race and win. I think Ruggie loves the party element of this game as he can play it with the kids back home. He loves sabotage and being a bit of a little shit when he plays too and with items and evil courses, I think he'd have a blast. I also think he'd on purpose drive off the course for the fun of it.
Jade - Amnesia: The Dark Descent
"But you cannot do horror" you may be saying and you're right, I can't. However, I have played at least 50-60% of the first Amnesia game! It has a vibe and aesthetic I think Jade would love. He'd eat up any horror game without flinching and probably laugh at the monsters/Daniel's misfortune as he ventures downward to kill his evil ex, Alexander. He'd also be delighted at the water level where most rational people cringe and cry thinking about it. This is also a game that Floyd would love shouting "encouragement" while Azul winces at certain elements.
Jamil - Just Dance (any of the versions, really)
For Jamil I think a fun, casual game works best as I don't think he's a big gamer. I picked Just Dance because he can do two things at once: play a game and work out. This game also has some great songs and I think Jamil would love picking and choosing. This game, like Trey's, is one that can become a little "completionist" and maybe spark some "competitive" spirit inside of people, which I think suits Jamil. He'd be the kind to pretend he's casual about the game before utterly destroying someone's score because they pissed him off.
Rook - Shadow of the Colossus
Originally I was going to try and pick a game with shooting or hunting in it but I figured if Rook wants that he can, you know, go outside? No, that's too much of a blend of his other hobby, hunting. So, I picked Shadow of the Colossus which is on my top list of "Master Piece Story Telling Video Games of All Time". Look, this game has it all: breathtaking scenery, gorgeous music, a story that has to be pieced together as you progress, and some of the most creative, impressive boss fights. I think Rook would get very invested in the story and the cinematic master piece of this game. He'd definitely be praising it as he plays and enjoy the overall experience.
Ortho - Pokemon (any of the newer ones)
I know I put Pokemon in my last list, but I specifically said the older games. For Ortho, he's playing the newer ones like Scarlet/Violet or Arceus. He's also Very Into the Meta and knows all the best Pokemon to grab and train. He knows the best move set for them. He knows which Pokemon to make HM bots and which to avoid catching. Ortho is planning his optimal strategy with Idia as they banter back and forth as he creates his "perfect team". They probably have a three day argument over which starter for Ortho to pick LOL. I also think Ortho would love to try a Nuzlocke and ask Idia to help him set one up with many challenges and difficulties. Also, the games have a small companion piece as two people can buy the opposite games and trade with one another. So, Idia is right there with Ortho, playing the same game just the other version.
Lilia - Fire Emblem (any title)
Do know in my heart, if I had opened this list up to mobile/gacha, I'd say Honkai Star Rail for Lilia because I'm just imagining him having the best luck and rubbing it into everyone's faces. Also, space theme is top tier.
Anyways, I picked Fire Emblem not to be self-indulgent, but because I think Fire Emblem has many elements Lilia would love: fun story, even if some games have better or worse plots than others, fun characters, and strategy. I'm imagining Lilia loving the game play as he strategically plays through the maps. He'd play on classic mode for sure, though I do like to think he'd never let characters die. Just because I can't bear doing that. I also think Lilia would love the supports and romance elements some of the newer games have. I bet he'd have his ships and also try to get their paired ending. Finally, I think Lilia would also LOVE to play a game where he picks all the WORSE classes for his units. Like making Lysithea a melee unit or something equally ridiculous.
There you have it! My list of what I think are the vice house warden's favourite video games! I do hope you enjoyed this list! Let me know what you think and what your choices would be, friend!!! I'll be eager to read them!

For your song recommendations: honestly no idea where to start as some of my favorite songs are oddly artistic(? Like have lore or I interpret more as art pieces rather than entertainment) but I think I'm gonna go for something that would "fit" your "vibe"(???)
An obvious one: Lemon Demons Album "Spirit Phone" (specifically the songs "Touch-Tone Telephone", "Caninet Man" and "Lifetime Achivement Award"). Album is kinda based on conspiracy theories, at least from my interpretation.
An odd one: Tom Cardy who... basically makes more humourous music? My personal favourites being "Mixed Messages", "Not Quite Almost Christmas", "Artificial Intelligence" and "Read Between The Lines". (NOTE: some of his songs do have more crude humor (nothing offensive, just d!ck jokes), dunno how uncomfortable it makes anyone but I do wanna let you know just in case)
Imma leave that here (cuz it's already long)! There's also songs that I like that sound like absolute bangers (the artists have not been mentioned!) but the content can be very sensitive. If you want me to share the artists names and specific songs lmk!
SO TRUE bhjsdadhbjdj i get where ur comin from im not a conspiracy kinda person!! so this is interesting!! /gen touch tone telephone- MAN I LOVE THE INSTRUMENTAL, i am not a fan of the vocalist tho >< - cabinet man- i swear to GOD ive heard this before.... but i cant place where or how, again the instrumental is so cool, but the lyrics.... they REALLY gross me out im sorry :[[ - Lifetime achievement award- same problem wahh, dont like how they sing... and it was also a lil uncomfy but not as bad as previous i could apply this one to one of my shadows tho LMAO yeah no, i have a friend who listened to mixed messages and straight up, its too bad for me i have watched the red flags video!! i that one is. BARELY on the edge of what im comfortable with, but god the visuals are fucking incredible, the art is stunning

Hold up, cushfuddled made that video?? Cushfuddled, the RISD alum who made Warriors: Twin Shadows, an absolute masterpiece of a comic in terms of visual storytelling? Well THAT gave me whiplash to find out I, too, am hyperfixated on the score for Frozen II. Like cushfuddled, I'm an artist, not a musicologist-- but I love looking at the scores for my favorite games and movies, and for Frozen, it was a special kind of musical fixation. So I've been putting off watching that video.
Like, I made leitmotif compilations combing every animated feature and even the Broadway musical. Comparatively observing where the Frozen musics use themes and how.
What I learned from doing that is, the way Frozen uses its leitmotifs, it's like the equivalent of consistent writing for music.
The goal is for those leitmotifs to be recognizable, and you can hear callbacks all throughout the film. (Sorcery shows up very often of course, which makes sense given how many magical duels are going down, and how often it's used to represent Elsa.)
But there's also PLENTY new recognizable leitmotifs which F2 introduces-- the spirits all share one (G#, G, E) in addition to each having their own unique one. More on this.
And concerning Atohallan's kulning / Dies irae, it actually does show up a lot, just not in a form that would be glaringly obvious to the audience.
The notes in the siren call are F# F, F# D#. As characters are moving through the mist, or find the ship, you get little inklings of the spirits' theme (that G#GE I mentioned, though sometimes it's transposed to something like E E♭ C or has a few notes changed to sound dissonant and create tension). The general formula though is: a root note, followed by a half-step down, and then three semitones down from that.
The relation of the siren call is that it's a resolved form of this dissonance. The first two notes will have the same relationship as in the spirits' theme but it ends with D#, completing the chord. Almost like Ahtohallan is a higher power presiding over the spirits...
There's a special leitmotif which plays whenever Elsa performs "the next step" in her journey (i.e. taming a spirit). This one begins F# E C. I'm pretty sure anyone who has watched the film can hear the moment when Elsa gets on Nokk's back and there's that triumphant swell of strings as she rides toward the glacier. That same motif plays again when she stops the flood. THAT'S THE ONE I'm talking about. That's beautiful! That's so beautiful actually!
And guess what! It's designed to resolve the spirits' themes (or at the very least Nokk's), and then it leads into Show Yourself, which is itself a resolution of the main theme which all the spirits share
Saying the music is bad because it's not putting up more glaring road signs about the siren's call... takes away the artfulness? It's intelligently written. It's also so fun to catch bits of other songs in parts of the score. The Epilogue does a really good job of weaving them all together, especially with how many new ideas are musically introduced with old ones.
If they're talking about the songs being unmemorable, there are entire videos dedicated to how wonderful SY and TNRT are. But even When I'm Older, which the thumbnail suggests they're using as the butt, messes with the playful instrumentation that Olaf is always known for. His musical entrances are a bit less cohesive, but they always sound like someone tripping up a set of stairs. He has a jazzy showtune feel to all of his songs (When Everything Falls Apart, from the Broadway musical, is so fun) and When I'm Older, I would argue, incorporates that instrumentation at center stage. So if anything they should not be couching their argument in that song, because it uses glaring instrumental choices that make sense for Olaf.
And if anyone who's actually good at music theory wants to articulate better on anything I’ve said, feel free-- I'm going back into hermitage while I try to survive finals
youtube
I feel I have to write something about this video critique on Christophe Beck's score of F2, especially since I'm mentioned favorably in the video description. The creator (cushfuddled on Tumblr) had a chat with me a while back on the Frozen 2 soundtrack, as they were creating this video.
Unfortunately, this video gave me great pain as I watched. I couldn't finish it and stopped at about 30minutes.
This is an opinion video, so, we can agree to disagree. The creator did tell me in Tumblr chat that they didn't like the F2 soundtrack, so, fair warning, but I was not prepared for the level of criticism in the video.
The creator said that the score of the film is not memorable - I totally disagree. I could play any of the themes from the score right now on the piano for you, even 5 years after the movie was released. The creator also set a 3 question quiz testing the listener on whether they could identify which 3 out of 12 excerpts of music was from F2, trying to "prove" that the music of F2 is forgettable and unrecognizable - well, I got all 3 questions correct. Easily.
The creator made a big deal about composer Christophe Beck not being "allowed" by Disney to use the 4-note "siren" call in his score because its use had to be reserved for the moments in the plot that the siren calls to Elsa. This is sort of true, Beck has mentioned this in interviews but I don't see the problem. He wasn't "banned" by Disney per se, it's mutual discussions between the filmmakers and the composer about what is best for the film and Beck is just doing his job and what a damn fine job he did!
This is not a personal attack on the creator, it's just my opinions. Agree to disagree, I'm not one to start online wars. The creator did mention me favorably in the description. I do recognize that I am on the other end of the spectrum in that I'm hyper fixated on the music, am a musician myself and I memorize and internalize music effortlessly, and most of all, I LOVE THE SCORE.

survey #102
(taken january 17th; uploading surveys taken while gone)
What is the most meaningful gift you’ve ever given? I worked extremely hard in art class making an anatomically correct heart out of clay that I painted and then put in a shadow box with a poem I wrote dedicated to him as the background for Jason once. I think I gave it to him as a Valentine's Day gift. I sometimes wonder if he still has it.
Whatever happened to the first person you ever loved? I have no idea what he's up to these days. It's probably better that way.
What is the biggest difference between you and your best friend? I am very emotional and he's barely at all. Or at least, he doesn't know how to show it.
Do you currently have a job? No, but I'm kinda regularly looking online... and it's stressing me out.
What brand is your vacuum cleaner? I don't remember, but something good. My mom's brother gifted her a vacuum cleaner once when she mentioned all she really wanted to buy for herself with the inheritance was a quality vacuum.
Could you win a staring contest with someone? Absolutely not, eye contact is extreeemely uncomfortable for me.
Name the last video game you’ve played. Girt and I are still playing Silent Hill 2. <3 We're in the prison area now, so making real progress.
Name someone who has changed your life for the better. The psychiatrist I went to for many years since my partial hospitalization program. I only ever left him because my insurance changed and he doesn't take Medicaid.
Can you say the alphabet in more than one language? Yeah, in German.
Do you ever get carsick? No.
Did you used to watch Blue's Clues? I sure did, I loved it. I got so emotional when Steve's actor published that video a year or two back addressing our generation.
What is the best way to tell someone that they stink? I just... wouldn't. Especially if I didn't know the person very well, because I don't know their living situation or if they have access to (hot) water, etc. Also as someone who has difficulty showering enough out of self-worth issues, I just don't think it's a good idea. I guess MAYBE I would if it was someone I was very close to and they were going to like, an interview or something, but I can't even imagine how I'd manage to do it.
Which movie’s musical score is truly memorable? Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron stands out.
What’s your favorite scene from the movie Titanic? I don't really remember because I've seen the movie only once a very long time ago. The last scene is super memorable though, where Rose throws the necklace (I think it was a necklace?) Jack gave her into the ocean. God did that movie make me cry, I remember that well. It's funny, I actually saw it while in the mental hospital and pretty much everyone was crying, like goddamn what a choice for mentally ill people at their worst lmfao
First kiss: quick, sloppy, and forgettable or passionate and memorable? It was quick and painfully memorable.
What is your favorite band's most popular song? Ozzy's is pretty obviously "Crazy Train," and I'm going to assume "Du hast" is Rammstein's because it was featured in The Matrix.
Are you listening to music right now? Yeah, I have "Little Dark Age" by MGMT on. Girt got me into it a long time ago.
Have you ever made the opposite sex cry? Yes.
Do you say the "H" in the word “herb”? No. I did for a very long time though, until I learned considerably late that it's silent.
What have you thought about most today? Girt and how he's coping. He's talked more with me today and seems a bit more perked up, but I'm still worried. I wanna see him really, really bad. This question prompted me to decide I'm bringing him lunch tomorrow btw lmao
If I were a doll, the accessories packaged with me would be: Probably like a little toy computer and a mini model of my iPod. OH and don't forget a pill organizer lmfao
What type of food do you eat at your grandparents? My grandma tended to make all the things I didn't like, honestly, lmao. Though granted we saw each other super super rarely.
I find the thought of childbirth… fucking TERRIFYING and disgusting. "It's a miracle!" no bitch that is horror beyond our comprehension
What sea creature scares you? GIANT SQUID
What was the last thing to make you cry? Thinking Girt was going to leave.
What serial killer do you find most disturbing? Gotta be honest, I don't know nearly enough about like, any in order to give you a proper answer.
Who knows a secret or two about you? Jason, Girt, Mazzy, Tez, Mom... Really any of the VERY few people in my real, face-to-face life who know I RP. I guess the Joel situation I got in as a pre-teen could been seen by some as a secret, especially when SO few people know, but it's not something I'd deliberately hide anymore if it was relevant to share and haven't felt the need to conceal it for many, many years. I'll fully admit I was a backstabbing snake.
Where is your sister right now? I would assume they're home now.
Does anyone regularly tell you they love you? The two very regular people are Mom and Girt, but I feel like Mazzy and Tez do it a notable amount too.
Any posters of a band on your bedroom wall? I have multiple, but I am ACTUALLY considering taking them down, amazingly. I really, really am thinking of lessening the decor in my crowded room and making it a more nature-based, peaceful location that I can go to to feel safe and relax soundly.
Do you think you’ve already met your soulmate? I don't believe in soulmates.
Do you share your bedroom with anyone? My snake Venus' terrarium is in there, and Roman almost always sleeps with me. He sometimes roams to other places in the house to snooze during the night, though.
What’s your crush’s/boyfriend/husband’s name? Donald Jr. but I've always known him as Girt.
And their occupation? He's worked in a tire factory for like, a decade.
Do you think it’d be cool to have your body mummified after you die? No, honestly. I completely respect the cultural reasonings and even find mummies super fascinating, but for me PERSONALLY, I'd be very grossed out by the idea of it being done to myself.
Are you leaving the house tomorrow? Yes; I'm buying Girt lunch and bringing it to him at work, and I'm going to try and stop by the tattoo parlor to drop my deposit on my tattoo and get the appointment date!
Do you enjoy romantic movies, even when they’re cliche? To a degree. Sometimes they're just too excruciatingly ordinary/expectable, but I do very much enjoy a well-written love story.
Would you or do you allow your children to watch television? Yes I would, though especially when young, I would try to set limits. If I have kids, I really don't want them to face a technology addiction like I have. I want them to take adequate time to be present in the real world that is directly before them, experience this one trip they've got on Earth.
Can you read music? Not well anymore. Some things, sure, they've stuck with me, but not a lot.
Have you been to McDonald’s in the past month? Honestly, way too much. I have been very bad with fast food lately and it needs to stop.
Have you ever slept over at your best friend’s house? Not with my current one yet. He prefers coming over here.
Is your mother diabetic? She is, actually. Runs in the family. Her sugar level is VERY volatile so she can't mess up/miss those meds. It frighteningly regularly goes so low that she has to take emergency measures like glucose tablets and stuff.
Are you? No, but it's something I really do need to watch. I don't think I'm considered pre-diabetic anymore, my doctors keep track of that stuff closely and have told me I'm good right now, but I know I'm still at high risk for it just by genes, personal history, and lifestyle. And I do NOT want it. Diabetes has either affected or straight-up taken too many people in my life.
Would you like to learn how to make ceramic pottery? Eh, not especially. I mean, I'm not AGAINST it, but I'm just not very interested.
Ever sang someone to sleep? No.
What was the last TV show you were hooked on? Lol Girt and I went on a nearly full-day binge of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives the other day when he was here. We have streaks where we just let the episodes keep going and going and going... lol. It's interesting stuff though and always makes us way too hungry.
Have you ever started a book and never finished it? Yeah. I remember in specific I once got pretty damn deep into this MASSIVE book that was a story about a guy who adopted/raised a baby fawn or something like that but I just like... randomly stopped. I do think I tried reading it at too young an age though, it was pretty advanced, even for me at the age I tried it. I just found it with some googling: The Yearling. Apparently it's a classic. Maybe one of these days I'll try it again.
Do you have a favorite drummer? Who? Not talent-wise but I definitely have a bias for Rammstein's Christoph Schneider because he is a fucking PEACH
What about a favorite guitarist? Who? Again, talent-wise I really don't know, but I make it obnoxiously obvious I adore Rammstein's Richard Kruspe because he is one of the most charmingly chaotic and adorable human beings ever sobs I'm not supposed to be into 50 y/o men help
Do you ever write fanfic? Of what? I feel like this would surprise people that know how overly invested I get in some things/people, but I don't and never have. Never even read any. Nothing against it, it's just not my thing.
Do you ever READ fanfic? Of what? ^ oh, got ahead of myself
Have you ever thought somebody was plain-looking, but found them attractive once you got to know them better? I initially thought Jason looked kinda weird but then through just loving him he became THE most attractive person on the planet to me when we dated, like genuinely.
What specifically about them made them so beautiful? Look man it took me years to get OVER this dude, I ain't doing this lmfao
What is your #1 dealbreaker with friendships? For a friendship... hm. Being manipulative/gaslighting me over things is a very strong contender. I could also never, ever be friends with a person who thought they were better than everyone else. Well, I could never do that AGAIN. Been there, done that, no seconds please.
Are you interested in fashion? No.
Do you like Led Zeppelin? I enjoy some songs, yeah; "Kashmir" is fuckin legendary with one of the best riffs ever and I also *technically* love "Stairway to Heaven," but it's my #1 trauma-associated song that I physically CANNOT listen to so haven't for many, many years. My mom absolutely adooooores Zeppelin.
Have you ever seen a real-live cop chase? IIII don't think so? Maybe?

Happy Halloween!
This was my part of the server trade with my lovely @mikoyamisheadcanonblog please enjoy <3 your OC and Law fit together so perfectly.
Law x OC SFW Modern AU Word Count: 1,330
He hated parties and wasn’t really a fan of the sillyness that came with Halloween either. Shachi and Penguin had both clung to him and begged him to go with them, that despite how little Law contributed to a party atmosphere it just wouldn’t be the same without him!
Law knew the drill, he’d meet up with the pair, head to the party Luffy and his housemates were throwing, and as soon as there were cute girls he would be ditched, left alone to sulk in the kitchen with the rest of the single men, picking pitifully at plates of tacky Halloween themed snacks and nursing the same beer for a few hours until warm from being clutched in the palm of his hand.
But he did owe them, they got him out of a very awkward and annoying wedding invitation and a Halloween party could never be as awkward as being nagged into being a friend's platonic date to a wedding for two people he couldn’t give a shit about.
He was told to dress up, even given some ideas by Shachi and he rjected them all. Law simply dressed in his normal clothes, jeans, T-shirt, and a hoody, the only difference was he grabbed a cheap apron and covered it in blood.
When he rocked up to Shachi’s house the redhead shook his head and clicked his tongue looking at Law. “What are you meant to be?” He asked and Law shrugged as he watched Penguin, dressed as a zombie ambled towards him making zombie sounds with his arms stretched.
“Insane doctor.” He said simply and Shachi, dressed like a vampire, gave him quizicle eyebrow.
“You don’t look much different Law..” He sighed and locked the front door.
“Exactly,”
—
Ash looked around the party, annoyed with the music, annoyed with the drunken idiots, and just done with the entire thing. She didn’t want to dress up or come out but she owed Nami a few bucks and Nami decided to take it from her in pacripaption.
She sighed a little and brushed down her skirt, wearing all black with a simple witch hat on her head, the most she wanted to get into the spirit of things, never a fan of Halloween and all the sillyness that came with it.
Still, she grabbed a drink and sat in the corner on a small sofa by herself and watched as everyone had a good time, a shadow of a smile on her lips, she at least liked seeing her friends have a good time.
The doorbell rang and Luffy threw himself through the crowd to open the door, swinging it open and seeing the three, grinning ear to ear and pulling them in with a big hug, not caring how displeased Law looked.
“Traffy! You look great!” He laughed and pulled Law into the house pushing him through the living room with Shachi and Penguin trailing after them with amused smirks,
Law was about to tell Luffy to stop when he saw a familler person from the corner of his eye, turning he saw Ash and he felt his heart skip a beat. They were friends and had met a few times but it was only ever at this forced get-togethers where neither wanted to be there but they’d been required to show up.
Ash watched as Law was dragged into the kitchen, more than likely being told by Franky that he was too skinny and needed to eat up while Luffy shoved more food into his mouth and tried to make conversation with Law through the food stuffed in his face.
Law soon came out, a beer in his hand, and managed to lose Luffy, he glanced around and was pleased to see Ash was still sitting where he’d caught sight of her before. He walked over, catching her attention, those beautiful eyes and long lashes flicked up from her phone and focused on his, he swallowed the lump in his throat and watched her adjust.
“Can I sit?” He asked, feeling awkward as she nodded.
He normally had this confidence, this nonchalant air but the feelings that were always stirred when he’d spend time with her, well they weren’t what Law was used to, he struggled to comprehend and process but he was happy when she smiled at him, and nodded.
“Did you get dragged here too?” She asked as she watched him sit, sigh and nod at her question.
She liked Law, he was always nice to spend time with, and they sometimes exchanged messages, a friend of a friend sort of thing though she dearly wanted to be more. The time they spent in one another's company was always enjoyable and they seemed to click.
The only time she ever heard him laugh was when they were together.
“Shachi?” A nod. “Nami got me, I owed her.”
Law chuckled, a wonderful sound to her ears, the low timber, and pleasant rumble as he leaned back on the sofa. “Yeah, always is and that’s unfortunate, she’s a real witch, you could owe her a dollar and she’d bleed you dry for a favor.” He said with a shrug of his shoulders.
They both sat there in comfortable silence, both with small smiles on their faces, giving one another shy glances before he took a breath and turned to face her, he started talking about various things, asking what she'd been up to.
He wasn’t a big talker but he wanted to get to know her, he wanted to be in her life as more than just a fleeting glance, a text here and there when the season dictated, causal happy holidays! Or Happy new year! He wanted more, he desired depth in their friendship.
Maybe he wanted more than a friendship. The way she looked at him, her eyes looking him over, checking him out but mostly meeting his eye, she was never put off by his cold demeanor nor did she try to change it. There was no push or pull but simply a calm flow between them.
As the night went on, he rejected invites to games from Shachi, as she told Nami she wasn’t interested in gossip, they both avoided anything that would take them from one another's company. They spoke of many things, getting into so many topics and real thoughts and they were so compatible, just like Law had thought.
“Hey, do you really want to be here or would you like to get out of here?” He asked and her face lit up, a nod and a smile on her painted lips as she stood and offered her hand to him, which he took.
They managed to sneak away from the crowd, dodging any attempt at unwanted interactions, managing to sneak out onto the balcony, they sat on the bench, strewn with fake webs and string lights shaped like pumpkins and bats.
“It's nice out here,” Ash said with a sigh and sipped her drink, looking out at the moon in the sky, the sparkling stars that twinkled above them.
“I can still hear the shitty music,” Law said with a gruff chuckle as he glanced at her, she nodded in agreement, a small laugh, such a soft sound. He found he adored it and longed to draw more from her.
“So, I think we need to make plans to meet up more often.” He said, not looking at her, just watching the sky, feeling her shuffle closer.
“I agree, maybe something that doesn't involve a costume or everyone else getting drunk around us?” She suggested and stared at the sky with him.
“Yeah, I was thinking maybe tomorrow? We could perhaps get a coffee or something?” He asked and Ash could tell there was a hopeful tone in his voice which caused her to smile.
“Sounds great, it’s a date then Trafalgar.”
He turned to her, meeting her gaze, and nodded, smiling brighter than he had in a while.
