there was a shooting a few streets down, and of course being scared, you called the police. they responded as quickly as they could. you turned on the news. no one died thankfully, but there were several injuries including the responding officers. you saw hyunjins name listed as one of the injured responding officers. so you hurried downstairs to throw on whatever shoes you could find.

i like to think of Gray as person practically everybody ends up really liking, and a total cat magnet.

And dragon slayers r just big cats. So Gray already had close friendships with them

so when they realized ‘holy shit hes like us now’ their protective instincts went in overdrive

Natsu, Wendy, & Sting didnt even try to hide it; constantly trying to make sure hes comfortable and felt safe and didnt sit alone confused and scared by all these new things he has to deal with

Natsu definitely drags him onto impromptu jobs and fishing trips with Happy, in an effort to get away from people, or just so they can spend time together, the reason is unclear

i think dragon slayers as a whole are like violently touch starved, and thats what Sting focused on mostly.

he would drape himself over Gray when he felt like the other needed or wanted it but wouldnt ask

it helped Gray get more comfortable for sure

Wendy, as a healer and friend, tried to give him every piece of advice she knew, offering remedy after remedy to help ease him into his now heightened senses

Gray tried to explain to them once that his abilities are fairly different from theirs, yes he has heightened senses, but his instincts and needs were a hell of a lot different than theirs; that only spurred them on more, making them try to research everywhere they could about demon slayers

Rogue & Gajeel were more subtle with it (not by much tho), they understood when needed it quiet, when he just wanted company without the talk

If Gray was having a hard time, whether or not it was bc of his slayer magic, Rogue would offer up Frosch and sit with him, offering silence or white noise. whatever he needed

Gajeel probably thought he was subtle but he absolutely was not, like asking Gray if he wants to run errands with him when places theyre at get too sensorially intense

he tried to ask Levy about everything she knew abt demon slayers without being too obvious, when she kept sending him knowing glances he just asked (very resigned) for some books on the matter.

Most ppl exposure to slayer magic is limited to dragon slayers, who refer to themselves as dragons. so when a demon slayer pops up, the correlation isn’t pretty, and their actions are even worse

While Gray understands people must just scared or confused, so he doesnt blame them; he has a hoard of extremely protective dragons who think differently

Wendy had to be physically restrained by multiple people after she heard people calling Gray a monster

Natsu genuinely considered burning alive someone who refused to pay Gray after he finished up a job

Gray definitely now had scary dog privileges, the dog being every single dragon slayer he knows

The house was a mess, as it always have been whenever you are busy. You desperatly tried to keep it clean but all you could do was tidy it up a little before giving up and going back to sleep.

vampire blade purposely bumping into you to get interactions from you. he loves your voice and your looks make him lose his breath. mutual gazing and light touches. he started taking some morning chores/missions from elios which made the stellaron hunters question why he all of a sudden wants to take on these missions, where he would usually complain loudly.

vampire blade and when he’s secret admiration for you was out because of kafka, he begs and will even pay or play videogames with silver wolf to get your social medias. kafka is a big tease and would use you for black mail.

one night as you both were walking, monsters came up and came in the way. vampire blade knows how to fight and he always felt the need to always protect you. you fought along side with him and he was very skillful, you admired him for that. after the long fight, he felt quite thirsty and nauseaous. he did not want to drink out of you but if you offered… he wouldnt know how to react.

you noticed how thirsty and how vampire blade was suffering. you then unbuttoned your shirt and offered him a drink by your neck. vampire blade was hesitant but he was feeling like absolute shit.

you went to him

you started to introduce yourself and chatted with him for a while

you talked more because all he mostly did was hum and nod

both your parents saw how 'close' yall were so they set both of you up with studydates. playdates arent their cup of tea

it took a while for chishiya to open up to you

but of course, you were the only person who comforted him because you saw right through his little charades

im sure you were both so close only because you were so persuasive and just really liked his company!

he does too but he wont let you know that

chishiya also kept you close because of that 'you know me too much'

so its either friendship or death

when you guys grew older, maybe teenage years,

chishiya really thought you would leave and never see him again

then chishiya probably told you that while he was thinking to be selfless for once,

you were definitely walking together and talking when the meteor disaster happened.

like you were laughing and he was just listening to you

and then you woke up, next to him

and other than the ceiling, he was the first thing you saw

he was looking at you when you woke up

"good morning" he'd say

and you'd be so fucking ecstatic that he was alive

then both of you would just start chatting about how your near-death situation affected you

you were glad to hear that he was planning to change his life ideals and pov

Today was finally the day. You were pretty much hyped for your debut as well as those who helped your works. Everything was on schedule and ready to be released.

You're currently in your dorm room on your laptop looking at the screen so intensely, waiting till the clock strikes the next hour. You sat there ass your leg starts to bounce in anxiety, you've come all this way to finally shine and show the world what you can do.

You must've blanked out for a few minutes in your own world of thoughts, because once you've regain reality back, the MV had been posted. Of course you've filmed a reaction of the final product before hand, which that will be released in a few days. But you mainly want to see what your fan's will say about this.

You smile in excitement as you would click on the video to watch the MV, you pretty much have a big ego at the moment. Who wouldn't?

As you were watching the MV, the people who are in charge of posting things to any socials are already posting your other works to other platforms to share.

Once you've finished watching the MV again, you decided to wait a bit before reading any feedback and such from fans. You closed the laptop and decided to make your way to the balcony of your dorm…

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

The three knocks at the door scared the ever living shit out of you. You recognize those knocks, 'What could he possibly want?' you thought as you let out a small chuckle as you make your way to the front door of your dorm.

You then open the door to see Lucas, pretty much your best bro, both of your trained together as he was in NCT. He stood there with the biggest smile on his face, but you can tell he was out of breath, he probably ran over here.

"M/n, your music video… ITS SO GOOD!" He says as he brings you into a hug. You gotta admit, his hugs were amazing but sometimes he just hugs a bit to tight.

"You like it?" You chuckle sarcastically a you embrace the hug back.

"Yeah! It was amazing man!" You can probably tell he's already your number one fan.

You smile as you back away from his hug, "Well I am glad you like it."

"Say, do you wanna throw a party?" He suggested to you. You thought for a second, you never had any ideas of a party or anything. Lets say parties weren't a thing for you but you can at least tolerate them.

"Uhm, I guess? I wasn't planning on having a big one." You say awkwardly to him. He knows that you weren't a big fan of parties, but this is big news for you!

"It doesn't need to be a whole lot of people, It can just be me and you."

"You're not wrong." You agreed to his suggestion.

"Alright! Come to my dorm later today, we can throw a party there!"

"Sure thing." You smiled. "Well then, I best get ready to get things ready, I'll see you later bro!" He says as he gives you a head pat and runs off.

Hours passed and you were reading feedback from fans, most if not all were positive and everyone pretty much liked it. Of course there was the haters but that didn't really phase you too much, you shouldn't let a few comments let your day down.

You were sitting on your couch as you were on your laptop. Then, your phone dinged, you got a notification from Lucas. Looks like he was done with setting up for a party.

[LUCAS] [party is done dude!! come on over to my dorm!!]

You smile a bit as you closed your laptop and grabbed your necessary thing you needed. Of course you brushed your hair and all so you don't look like a producer who's been locked up in a studio for four days.

You then made your way to Lucas's dorm, it was a bit of a walk but you soon arrive, knocking on the door. You waited a few seconds for the door to open, which it was soon open by Lucas of course.

"M/n! You came!" He smiles, he then grabs your arm and drags you into his dorm. You took a moment to take in everything.

The place was decorated with your typical things you'd see at a birthday party, but this was just a debut party. But look! He also invited a few other idols over to celebrate that you also are friends with! (It can be anyone within SM!)

They greeted you and congratulated you for your debut. They were also liking the debut as well! The place was also filled with food and drinks, looks like Lucas really wants to celebrate your debut.

"You sure you're ok with us destroying the place?" You chuckled, "Yeah, Its not a big deal." He smiles. "Now, are we ready to celebrate?" He says to all of the people within the room, and everyone was ready.

As the hours passed within the party, everyone who was there had a blast. Everyone was pretty much agreed on doing different drinking games as well as eating food that was cooked by Lucas.

One of the games was a dance off and if you lose, you had to take a shot. The group danced to various songs in chaotic manners, sometimes freestyling it.

After hours of chaotic drinking games, the other idols left to head back to their dorms. Leaving just you and Lucas.

Both of you are drunk off your asses and decided to play one more game, rock paper scissors.

"You'll lose."

"Nuh uh." You say.

"Fuck do you mean 'nuh uh'?"

Both of you started to giggle, then saying rock paper scissors…

Lucas wins.

"Fuck!" You yelled, then filling up a shot glass as Lucas was laughing like a goof ball. You then take a shot, you're pretty much wasted at this point.

You both went on for a few more rounds, Lucas ended up winning. "M/nnnn~, I'm getting tireddd.." Lucas says, you can tell this man is drunk as well too.

"Sameee…" You pretty much agree to him as you collapsed on the couch, starting to feel sleepy as hell.

You started to drift asleep, but as you were you can feel Lucas putting a Pillow under your head and a blanket over you. "Goodnight M/n~…" he says as he gives you a drunk smooch on your forehead and pats you on the head.

Lucas would end up sleeping on the other couch because he was so wasted. Looks like both of you are gonna be going though the worst hangovers in the morning as well as a mess to clean up.

Your eyes fluttered open as you were hit with the blinding lights of the sun. But before you can do anything you were hit with the most painful headache ever. You looked around and see that you were still in Lucas's dorm, having no memory of what happen last night. But you do remember a party happening.

You reached out for your phone and saw a bunch of notifications from the other idols that were there and they sent a bunch of videos and photos of the party. "bruh…"

Lets say things were wild as fuck last night.

matty has been quiet all day. in fact, he's been quiet since the other night. the three of you, you, him and gigi, had gone to a second night of the eras tour after taylor invited you back. gigi was jumping off the walls thrilled, and this time wore her princess dress that taylor had personally sent in the mail. gigi wasn't a twirler, she was more a pump her fists in the air kind of dancer, and you'd put her in hip hop classes recently and she would take her shirt off to match george when she played drums. but here in the the vip tent, she was a princess. again, she has bracelets all up and down her arms from the fans that passed her, and she even made some herself this time (all spelt wrong because she wouldn't let you help) to pass out to some of the other people there.

matty had started the night his usual self. the two of you swayed to lover again, and he whispered in your ear that he loved this song, his voice tickling you. he lifted gigi on his shoulders and jiggled her around for the fast songs, big hands firmly clamped round her calves so she wouldnt go flying. it wasnt until the surprise songs that you noticed him go a bit quiet.

the first few chords of never grow up started playing and the crowd went mad. your eyes started welling up immediately, scooping your baby girl into your arms so you could hold her for it, because this song didnt mean nearly as much to you until you held her in your arms for the first time.

"what's this?" matty said, from behind you, but eyes trained on taylor as she sat at the piano and began the opening lyrics, your little hands wrapped around my finger...

"it's never grow up!" you whispered back to him, and then turn away, not willing to miss any more seconds of it.

"i dont know this one," you heard matty say from behind you, and when you turn back quickly, his eyes still haven't left the stage. when the song finishes, you are in floods of tears, and gigi is looking at you concerned and you squeeze her so tight until she pushes you away and tells you to stop. you're too in your own world to notice matty.

when the concert finishes, the lights come up and matty grabs gigi's hand and says, "come on then gigi girl," he says, and they walk out together.

that night, you wake up to matty missing from your bed, his side cool, like he'd been gone for a while. you slip out of your room and check gigi's, and there he is, curled up around her. he's asleep, so you watch them for a bit, your loves, smiling. in the morning matty says, "yeah she got scared last night and was crying," and you smile and nod, but you think, gigi hasn't cried in the night for years, and you didn't hear a single sound.

a day or two later, you find matty in the garden by himself. he is sitting, looking at the sky with his ear buds in. he's holding his phone, which is dark screened and locked. you pull an earbud out.

"new music?" you say.

"yeah," he says, grabbing it back abruptly, "sorry, it's still a work in progress. it's just..."

"sorry i intruded," you say, teasing him, "i'll leave you to your art."

you go back inside but he follows you and wraps his arms around you in a bear hug, holding you there.

"what's this for?" you say, and when he doesn't answer, "you okay?"

"yeah," he says, "i just love you."

you let him hold you, breathing in the smell of him. he only breaks apart when his phone buzzes, and he snaps his head down to look at it.

"oh, it's just george,"

"waiting for something?"

"gigi told me she would text if she wanted to come home early," he says.

"she's at michelle's. she loves it there. michelle's parents let her have so much cake last time she was there she threw up. remember? she aint coming home early."

"yeah," matty says, almost sadly. then he drifts back into the garden.

he has his earbuds in a lot the next few days. he seems distant. one time, you find him on the sofa, gigi fallen asleep in his arms, fresh from the bath and hair damp, air buds in, tears in his eyes.

"matty," you say, sitting down next to him. you reach out and touch his curls and when you do the tears in his eyes spill out and run down his cheeks. "what is it?"

"it's this fucking song," he whispers, then he takes out an ear bud and puts it in your ear.

immediately, the middle of never grow up is playing and you're back in the arena, dancing with your daughter, holding her, wishing she would never grow up. and if you'd looked back, you would've seen matty, face crumpled, watching you both, swaying in front of him, eyes on his baby, taking in those lyrics you know so well for the first time.

you're quiet for a second, not knowing what to say, but then you remember what made you feel better about it, when you were sobbing with gigi that night.

"what do you mean?"

matty strokes his fingers through his daughter's hair.
