This is my first time writing headcannons in english EVER, so i'd appreciate some tips! I'm looking forward to get better!! I hope I did good and I'm writing this at 2 am, so I'm very sorry if there's errors in my grammar!

(In my au he is still a gamer, but he actually hangs out a lot with his/your friend group)

1) Definitely awkward at first but slowly gets more confident and bold.

2) You both have game nights often and/or stream together.

3) He isn't the type to make the first move, unless Karube and Chota somehow convince him to do it.

4) Not really a physical touch type of person, but he doesn't mind getting kissed or holding hands in public.

5) You both probably met throught mutual friends, and fell in love at first sight.

1) You met in a party or at his bartending job!

2) Loves showing you off to anyone, he's proud of what he bagged frfr🙏🏼

1) You'd be the one to confess since he was too stubborn to admit he actually liked you 😔

2) He's usually calm and reserved his emotions in him, but somehow you'd always find out if there was something wrong with him.

3) He has a soft spot to you, and he's always less cold and sarcastic to you!

4) He doesn't like physical touch in public, the max he could do is a peck on the cheek or holding hands, HOWEVER in private he's REALLY REALLY touchy.

you were too reluctant on going up to somebody and decided to wait until everyone had a partner or you'd go to the last person who was available

from afar, chishiya would have already noticed you weren't the one for social gatherings

since you were kinda squinting at everybody in mild disgust, fear and anxiety

brows furrowing as you bit the bottom corner of your lips and fumbling with the insides of your pockets

yeah you were probably fucked

chishiya would come up to you smoothly, figuring out a way to not startle you

you'd prolong a small 'uh' and quietly return his introduction, not wanting to shake his hand

honestly through out the entire game, he was the one who talked

and he barely talks!

he was just explaining what the games probability would be and making out tactics

you definitely know what he's talking about about but you didn't say much other than a small hum

chishiya would then turn to you and be like 'you understand dont you?'

being torn from either replying because you think that he'd think you were stupid and not replying because.. of the same thing

but later on he'd find out you're actually quite clever and/or strong.

you just prefer to keep it low key

now we all know chishiya doesn't normally chat with others

but since he thinks you were competent as being his partner in that game,

expect as many waves that you'd have to awkwardly return

that's why when he found you in the beach he was honestly quite surprised

like how tf did you get in there

chishiya knows how smart/strong you really are, you just didnt like everyone around you nor you wanted them to think badly of you

when you become something of 'friends'

he'd subtly praise you by giving you an awkward thumbs up when you're doing good

has to watch you mentally make a list of the food you want from the buffet so that you wouldn't look dumb when picking food

or anything like that

honestly it kinda hurts him to watch you

but wouldn't show it (now added with concern for you believing that he's judging you)

chishiya actually thinks there's perks to you social anxiety

like, well, mentally listing stuff down and fixating on details in order to make his plans work

he also admires your acting skills when you try to get away from social situations

again, really good asset, just a bit too terrified

once you start becoming comfortable being by his side, he's very patient and would listen to what you'll have to say

also has to reassure you that he understands your opinions (omg rare)

soon enough you'll almost be like a whole new person and chishiya now has to deal with this puppy

he knows all the things that ticks you off or triggers the anxiety

would comfort you by helping you escape to somewhere less crowded

oh oh oh

and if you both like each other

neither of you is going to confess

chishiya is busy being a tsundere and being in denial

hile you're sulking in anxiety AND denial

kuina literally has to come out and put both of you in a candle lit dinner it's so goofy

it's so painful for her to watch both of you pine for the other

she's practically clawing her eyes out

once you guys get together, chishiya tells you to keep it a secret

which you could definitely do.

and oh my lord when arisu and usagi come by

the anxiety is once again high

and even higher when people start killing each other

you're standing there all cool, arms crossed, watching the many cctvs

and kuina and chishiya start subtly accusing each other that they are the witch

you'd start having a breakdown internally but you're standing there like its all goody gum drops

i think im trailing off

either way, chishiya would definitely just tease you how your anxious

but he'll tell you everytime that you're gonna be okay

plus holding hands when y'all are hiding

him coaxing you for anything sometimes

he'll not say but he'll be pretty honored that you became comfortable with him

honestly he would treat you like how he treated ippei (with extra credit)

and again, he'll just subtly praise you

soon it'sprobably gonna be a habit in his system

Okay, hear me out, for as much as he seems like he'd be bothered by it, I really don't think think Chishiya would mind being tickled. Like, I don't think he would actively seek it, but I really can't see him getting that upset over anything. Like bro has been shot before and been like "haha oh well, I'll be fine" he does not give a singular fuck.

I feel like instead he would approach it in a very cat-like manner. Some people can tickle him and he's okay with it and just,,,, let's it happen. Like, he can't be fucked to stop them he just doesn't care. But the second he's done he's done and just gets out of whatever situation he's in like it's nothing.

I just like the idea of him laughing and squirming slightly and then out of nowhere his face fades back to neutral and he just calmly wrestles himself out of his ler's grasp like, "alright, back to business now guys."

as a doctor, he mainly takes quick showers

contrary to popular belief, i feel like he enjoys hot showers over cold ones. like he's already going to be stressed because of work, so might as well have at least one part of his day be a little relaxing

the only time you can take joint showers with him is during his off-days or if you stay up long enough to catch him coming home

he doesn't like it when you do the latter option because he firmly believes you should take care of yourself and sleep early

even though he runs on 3 hours of sleep maximum every day

he lets you wash his hair after initially (and weakly) refusing

you definitely use scented shampoo on him (strawberry because he thinks floral scents are too strong)

he prefers subtle scents because the hospital is already filled with strong odors.

Chishiya, ever since he stumbled upon you during your very first game, you who were riddled in nothing but fear and confusion, he saved you. And after that you were so grateful to have met someone who had rescued you from your nearly deadly demise.

He, on the other hand, behind the scenes was just always lurking. Sometimes without warning, he found himself so drawn to you that he always had his gaze fixated on you. Of course this wasn't all he did. He followed you everywhere which resulted in him somehow conveniently ending up in the same game as you every time.

Then he got closer to you, which made him introduce you to the Beach, you had joined in. Not a fan of it but he was your closest companion, you didn't know anyone. Until one game, a newcomer, playing a game of tag, that ended in blood and bullets scattering against the cold grounds of the floors and staircases. You met Arisu and Usagi, obviously Usagi became your best friend, another woman friend that you can bond with and talk to about everything.

Arisu however, you got close with him as well, Chishiya hated that, his jealousy slowly getting the better of him, eating him up inside. He didn't let it all consume him though. Instead, he got closer to you than Arisu ever could, out of complete spite. It was like some sick competition he made up in his own head, and he was definitely winning.

You fell for him, you two beginning to date. Chishiya is quite clingy with you but in a very 'him' kind of way. Always around you, super protective, he even shares his own knowledge with you so you become smarter, not that you're dumb or that he thinks that, he thinks so highly of you, he loves and adores you. He just wants to make sure you're prepared for the worst.

It didn't take long for you to complete your internship at a university hospital. To be clearer, because of your intelligence as a healthcare professional, she was one of the youngest students to do an internship.

𐐪♡︎₊˚ _ The first time he saw Chishiya was in the doctors' break room. You were interested because he was a pediatric cardiologist. You couldn't stop thinking about how a strong and mysterious man like him could deal with children so easily, especially in such critical states that most of his patients were in.

𐐪♡︎₊˚ _ It was difficult for you to engage in a conversation with him, as he felt more comfortable with patients than with his co-workers themselves. And it was even more surprising when he started a random topic with you when you coincidentally got coffee from the espresso machine at the same time.

𐐪♡︎₊˚ _ In his opinion, you were too dull for someone like him to get to you...but he proved the total opposite. Chishiya actually thought you were the most interesting in that place. A Brazilian exchange student who was able to stand out so brilliantly in that place. It was fascinating for him to see a woman a little younger than him be so bold and smart.

This surprised both of them, but especially you. She was always so into herself, despite being smart, social issues weren't exactly her strong suit.

They were both determined in their goals and ambitions, they always help those they really care about, perhaps you more than him, but it is still a common topic.

I couldn't deny it, initially neither of them had any romantic interest in each other, just admiration. But with time, you understand Chishiya and he loved the feeling of having someone who truly understood him and didn't judge him.

𐐪♡︎₊˚ _ He honestly didn't feel comfortable talking to anyone, but even though it wasn't common, you were the only one he felt safe opening up to without any fear. To him you were like an angel, always there to help him and sometimes he wondered if he was there in the same way for you.

A comfortable silence reigned between you, until it was broken with a statement from Chishiya. "You can." "What?" You asked calmly, but still confused. "You can do it, whatever you're thinking, I don't care." He said in his usual low and calm tone. "...same?" You said. "...same."

𐐪♡︎₊˚ _ You wasted no time and approached, still calmly, his lips. At first it was a slow and deep peck, which deepened into a real kiss. Still with your lips connected, you climbed onto Chishiya's lap, overcome with emotion. He didn't complain, just squeezed her waist in confirmation, wishing more than ever that I could repeat this moment over and over again.

𐐪♡︎₊˚ _ You merely remember the day you arrived together with Chishiya in Borderland. Maybe it was like a blur, but the only thing he remembers was that you were together. Chishiya merely felt guilty for joining you in this. He thought that, Maybe if you weren't with him, you wouldn't be in this horrible place knowing you could die at any moment. Of course, both he and you are too intelligent to die suddenly, but it's still an event.

𐐪♡︎₊˚ _ You were slightly scared by how much he closed himself off after entering Borderland. In fact, he was always a little closed off to people, but never to you. Now on the beach, he didn't treat you with so much affection in front of people. He didn’t treat you badly, but he wasn’t the affectionate type like he used to be.

𐐪♡︎₊˚ _ but he didn't behave like that because he doesn't love you anymore, but rather so that you wouldn't be an easy target if someone wanted to hurt you, for example, the Niragi or the militia itself. You understood him and only helped him when he needed it.

𐐪♡︎₊˚ _ He wasn't surprised when you did so well in games, both physical and rational. You were a great athlete in high school and that was one of the many reasons he didn't care about your death.

𐐪♡︎₊˚ _ A very important topic in your relationship is trust, which means you tell each other everything. Which led to his great disappointment when he betrayed Arisu and Usagi behind his back. He knew that you hate people who use others, or take advantage of the most innocent, so he didn't tell you anything about his plan.

𐐪♡︎₊˚ _ When the mess at Praia started, you were still fighting with him, which made him worried. The only thing he knew how to do was think about you. He thought that maybe because you were in such a delicate moment emotionally, you weren't reasoning correctly.

𐐪♡︎₊˚ _ After he found you and saw that you were okay, he became calmer. So he just dragged you along the beach to find a way to get out of there and to do that they knew they needed to act rationally and not just physically.

𐐪♡︎₊˚ _ After he explained that he took the letters just to see you well and free from that horrible place, you forgave him. Your relationship was finally stable, and even though you were worried about the picture cards, you were okay being together.

𐐪♡︎₊˚ _ After the chaos on the beach and the fact that you were separated from the rest of the group, you had many existential and anxiety crises. He helped you as much as he could with this, even more so when he realized that his support meant a lot to you.

𐐪♡︎₊˚ _ No matter where you were or what phase you went through, as long as you are well enough to finally get out of there together, you will be happy.

hi! not sure if this makes the cut, seeing as your request inbox is almost full. but i'd like to request chishiya headcannons with cheerful/outgoing reader but they slowly become the opposite after losing their friends game after game. thank you and have an awesome day ahead! you deserve it!

y'all the new layout on desktop is killing me, wth is going on😭 i ended up adding d.p. and bloodhounds to my list of shows i'll be writing for, so check my rules to see which characters you can request (when requests open, please don't send them in right now or i'll get overwhelmed lol)

anyways here is some chishiya because we all adore him to the end of the earth and back. he's gorgeous i need him so badddd. i maybe got a little carried away :) this was really enjoyable to write

warnings: chishiya and s/o are in a pre-established relationship, angst w/ a happy ending, hurt/comfort, spoilers for s2 at the the end

chishiya with an s/o who loses their cheer

you were bright. so bright, in fact, that sometimes you blinded chishiya

chishiya knew you. your ups, your downs, your flaws, and your strengths. it would be strange if he didn't given the fact you were engaged before ending up in the borderlands

when you both ended up here, it didn't take him long to realize how big of a liability you were. not only to him, but yourself as well

did he trust you to complete games? yes, he did. you had a strong sense of determination and were 100% a survivor, so he had no doubts there

what he didn't trust was how you would react to other people in your games

being so friendly and optimistic gave you nothing but a disadvantage in this world, and he knew from the start that it would tear you apart

as much as he wanted to distance himself from you the moment you both arrived at the beach, he couldn't bring himself to do it.

he's a clever man who doesn't typically feel much remorse. he knew that if you hadn't been connected to him prior to the borderlands he would have ditched you instantly

but unfortunately for him, he lets his feelings get in the way because you were the one person who could truly make him feel

no matter how tough things were, you would give him a kiss on the cheek and a pat on the back. all the while encouraging him to 'cheer up, you look best when you're smiling'

you continued to shower him with love and affection while you were alone, just like you did in the real world. things were totally different now, but you didn't let that dampen your spirit

you and him were opposite ends of basically everything. you couldn't be more diverse, so it wasn't a shock at how familiar you got with everyone.

and when i say everyone, i mean everyone

you had worked in a social field beforehand, so you tended to be extremely good at memorizing names and facts about a person

it was one of the things that interested chishiya the most. while he encountered many different people per day and ultimately started to forget about them, you kept those you met near and dear no matter how powerful your experience with them

you were a people magnet. you basically radiated a friendly aura, and the other residents of the beach noticed quickly

you got along with mostly everyone (note: mostly. the militants were a different story...)

unfortunately for you, this meant that when you were put in groups for a game, you were bound to know at least one person in your group on a personal level

that is where your downfall began

chishiya knew it would happen at some point. when he saw you walk to your group's car chatting up a storm with one of the other members, he mentally prepared himself to take in your emotions when you came back.

and his speculations were confirmed correct, once again. your body was battered, bruised, and had definitely seen some better days during it's time. the way your eyes moved from one corner of the room to the next was sloppy and dull.

to be blunt? you looked like shit.

but he wouldn't say that, not once. although he had a certain fondness towards snide comments, he also had a fondness towards you. he was aware of what you needed in that moment, and the thing you needed most was him.

the way your gaze trekked through the crowd of people exuded a certain type of exhaustion that one can't explain. it was like you were exerting every ounce of your leftover spirit to find a specific person. and when your gaze finally found him, he could practically feel the tension that lifted off of your shoulders himself.

you moved toward him in such a despairing, yet hopeful way. the way your emotions screamed out to him so prominently was incredible. with just a small movement he already understood exactly what you were thinking and feeling.

when you reached him he gently took your elbow and guided you around to corner, if only to receive a small amount of privacy.

"'shiya..." your bottom lip quivered ever-so-slightly. the emotions swimming through the pools of your eyes were that which he couldn't comprehend. so complex, so telling but so complicated. seeing the exhaustion raking through your entire body, he wished he could understand.

he desired to find some type of mutual emotion in the lingering emptiness, but the small amount of hope in your eyes told him all he needed to know to understand that he was not able to. and he probably never would.

he couldn't give you the solace of knowing what you were going through, so the only thing he could do was bring you into arms.

and you cried. and you cried and you cried and you cried until you couldn't anymore because, for the first time in this damn world, you felt like you could lose everything you had built yourself upon. and it was terrifying.

as time progressed, chishiya noticed the brightness of your eyes leave bit by bit

he had tried to protect you from what he knew would happen, but you were stubborn about what you wanted and stuck in your ways

you thought that making friends would make everything more bearable, but you now realized how foolish you had been

the once starry partner he had known was not diminished to something of an empty shell of what had been

but even then, during quiet nights when the party of the beach had fallen silent and all that remained was you and him, you would tell him about your hopes for the future

you were still there, just nowhere as prominent as before

after the massacre that came from the ten of hearts, you didn't bother talking to anyone that wasn't him at all

the hope in your eyes had fizzled out completely

there were many problems chishiya knew how to fix. injuries? the easiest trick in the book. games? child's play to him.

but your lack of emotion was something he was frazzled on. he truly didn't know what to do, and if he was being completely honest with himself? he hated seeing you like this

you started to remind him too much of himself

empty eyes, lack of empathy for those around you. he felt like he was looking in a mirror and it kinda weirded him out

it wasn't until after he completed the king of diamonds that he decided to ask you about it. and not just make a comment, he wanted to have a genuine conversation with you

unfortunately he didn't get to do so when he wanted to because of niragi's trigger-happy finger

he was in pain and you were panicked and everything felt like too much for you

you were over him in a second with arisu and usagi, holding his face in your hands and crying

but you were crying and you were beautiful and that was enough for him, because FINALLY you were showing some sort of emotion

so when you sent arisu and usagi off to go take down the last two face cards, he felt... relieved

your face was so full of determination as you tried your best to tend to his wounds

he knew that the old you was in there somewhere, he should have expected it to come out in such a dire situation

as the day got darker and his heartbeat got fainter, you whispered out all your feelings and the waterworks would not give you a break

and all he could do was smile at you, which seemed so uncharacteristic but... you had both just been through hell and back, so you took whatever you could get

when the fireworks eventually shot off signaling the end of the game, he looked over at you one last time before making his decision. he couldn't be more delighted with what he saw

your eyes were filled with both love and hope, and things were back to where they should be

chishiya sits at the table in his makeshift workshop, making adjustments to another bomb. you lean back against the door, debating whether or not to disturb him.

“i was about to come find you,” he says, setting the can aside. chishiya turns to face you before gesturing for you to come closer. you obey, sitting down beside him. “i found this earlier.” he slides a switchblade across the table to you. “you should use it.” 

you open the knife, checking the way the light glints off of the side. “thank you.” an awkward atmosphere falls across the room. it’s like you can feel the weight of all your unspoken words mixing with chishiya’s, forcing their way down your throats and keeping both of you silent. 

chishiya stuffs his hands into his pockets, leaning back against the table behind him. he stares at the wall in front of you. “listen… i’m sorry.” the admission almost catches you off guard. chishiya sighs. he doesn’t look at you as he continues. “i shouldn’t have yelled at you like that. you didn’t deserve that.” 

“you really hurt me, chishiya. you know i hate people yelling at me.” he shifts so he’s facing you again, hesitantly reaching out to grab your hand. you let him gently stroke his thumb against your knuckles. 

“i know, and i’m sorry. i’m not… good at talking to people. i thought years of being surrounded by death in medical school and during my work would’ve prepared me for this, but… it didn’t.” you look up at him when he pauses. some of the tension eases from his shoulders when you squeeze his hand. “i’m scared. we’re not safe here. i’m worried about dying. about you dying. i thought you were being reckless and i was upset so i yelled at you. i’m sorry.” 

“i forgive you.” you bring a hand up to his face, stroking his cheek. “we’ll be okay. i love you.” 

chishiya lets a small smile spread across his face. he grabs your hand and presses a kiss against your knuckles. “i love you too.”

sharp, continuous knocking wakes you in the middle of the night. you shift, rolling over onto your side to face the door, willing whoever is knocking to just go away. after a few seconds of silence, the knocking continues. you let out an annoyed sigh, forcing yourself to get up and answer the door. 

you’re met with an anxious arisu standing on the other side. his hair is disheveled, eyes bloodshot and red. all of the anger drains from your body as he lowers his hand, looking down at the floor. “can we talk?” you step aside, opening the door and making room for him to enter. arisu whispers a small ‘thank you’ as you shut the door behind him. 

he sits on the side of your bed, fidgeting with his fingers. you lean over to turn the bedside table lamp on before sitting down next to him. arisu looks up at you before back down at his hands. “i’m so sorry.” his voice is quiet and shaky. “i shouldn’t have said that to you. you didn’t deserve that. i was drunk and stupid. i know it’s not an excuse and that saying this won’t make it up to you but i need you to know i’m so, so sorry.”

you sigh, pulling your knees up to your chest. “do you know why i refuse to play games with you?” arisu looks at you, teary eyes staring into your own. he thinks for a second before slowly shaking his head. “it’s because i love you. and more than that, i trust you. i don’t want to be forced to choose between my life and yours because i’ll choose yours.” you pause, forcefully blinking away stray tears that threaten to fall. 

“oh, y/n,” arisu pulls you into a hug. you let yourself be vulnerable, clinging to him. “i’m sorry.” he repeats the words like a mantra. like all of your worries will disappear if he keeps saying the words. “i’m so sorry.” 

you sniffle when you pull away, forcing yourself to look up at him. “i forgive you. but this can never happen again.” 

arisu nods. “it won’t. i promise.” he wipes away a few stray tears you hadn’t realized had fallen, coaxing you back into another hug. you wrap your arms around his waist, letting him rub your back. “i love you too.”

kuina slowly makes her way over to where you sit on the rooftop, sitting down next to you. you don’t acknowledge your newfound company, still completely focused on the stars above you. the sky is clear, providing a nice view of the night. “you know, i’ve never really seen the stars before.” kuina glances at you, silently waiting for you to continue. “i’ve always lived in the city. you can’t see space with all of the billboards and light pollution blocking the view.” 

“i went stargazing once.” kuina says, returning her attention to the sky. “we were in the mountains. it was before my mom got sick.” her voice drops to a whisper. “i want to take you camping one day. we can make smores and stargaze and curl up together when the night gets cold.”

you reach over to grab her hand, intertwining your fingers together. kuina’s skin feels hot against your own - it always does, as if you’re the ice to her fire. “i’m sorry,” you murmur. your voices remain quiet in the darkness. 

“you shouldn’t be,” kuina dryly chuckles. “it was my fault. i overreacted. i’m sorry.” 

“it was my fault too. i should’ve told you before i left to hang out with her.” 

“y/n,” kuina sighs. she brings a hand up to your face, leaning in a little. “you didn’t do anything wrong.” 

“but-” 

“no,” she leans in even further so her forehead rests against yours. “i’m sorry i yelled at you. i shouldn’t have done that.”  you can’t help but stare down at her lips as she continues talking. “how can i make it up to you?” 

“a kiss would help.” 

kuina laughs, a bright smile spreading across her face. the sound makes you smile in turn before she presses a sweet kiss against your lips. when she leans back you pull her back in for another, and another, and another.
