Could we get one explanation on how batsis charmed her Flings and how long they lasted or is she like Bruce. Like she can look at them and they fold
Okay I love this question and I’m here to explain 🫶
How Batsis charms her flings and how long her situationship lasted with some of them 💗
Warning: Paparazzi are low-key kind of crazy in this, mild nsfw, panic attacks, some insecurity for some characters, mentions of addiction.
Characters (paired with Batsis): Wally West, Roy Harper, Zatanna Zatara, John Constantine, Diana Prince, Hal Jordan, John Stewart.
Note: MY EXAMS ARE OVER I CAN FINALLY POST AGAIN <3 NOT PROOF READ
The Batsis Charm
- Okay so I always pictured Batsis as taking after Bruce, she turns on the Wayne family charm and deadly assassins fold. She adds some flirting and keeps up appearance, she isn’t afraid to dress alternatively either her style is ever changing.
- When Bruce first introduced her to the Justice League she was fresh out of university (pretty and clever!), she immediately enchants most of them in more ways than one.
Wally West
- These two together are a bit different, I think they both dated when they very young; teenagers. Very much puppy love.
- very healthy relationship despite how random it was, you only met through Dick. He had trouble accepting you both but did accept it.
- Very typical teenage dates like: the movies, the park, bowling etc.
- Batsis had faceless pics of them posted all over her socials.
- More Batsis coming round his for dinner then him coming to her.
- The relationship neves goes past kissing, had lots good times together though.
- The only way I see this ending is Wally struggles to be in the public eye so much with his gf, he wonders how Batsis has handled it.
- Everyone and their grandma know about this breakup when it happened, but overall ended on a good note.
Roy Harper
- These two are “she fell first but he fell harder” coded, they meet when they are both teenagers. Roy is a tiny bit older (1-2 years), starts off as unrequited love but also not really?! Batsis always loved him, these two faced the most challenges out of any of her relationships.
- These two get more romantic as they get older (roy realising he’s got something good with this girl), Roy gets plenty threats from Jason on the daily.
- When it comes to Lian, Batsis went from dad’s friend to babysitter to stepmom to just mom. Roy remembers when Lian was very young and you just left after babysitting and he just tucked her in; he’s ready to leave for bed before Lian asks “is mommy coming again tomorrow?” His heart breaks when he realises she sees you as her mom.
- right people wrong time coded.
- Talks of giving Lian a sibling one day 💕🫶
Zatanna Zatara
- these two are the besties and or gfs forever!!
- Batsis attends all her magic shows, sometimes even becomes her assistant.
- Lots of pda, you smother her and she smothers you a lot as well.
- The media know all about you two, it’s a challenge to get away from them for a day.
- Slightly jealous type but won’t admit it, especially if one of your exes message you while you’re having one of your dates with her.
- Everyone at the JL knows they are together, whether they knew batsis liked girls or not they are surprised when you guys go public.
- Lots of Halloween couple costumes together, like magician + bunny, matching witch costumes, princess + genie, etc..
- Watch each other do your makeup, sometimes she does yours and you do hers. You brush her hair after all her magic shows.
- I love these two <3
John Constantine
- These two met by mistake, it started off as a random hookup; John didn’t even know you were the Batman’s daughter.
- When it gets revealed he makes so many comments, like “don’t want me to be your future son in law Batsy?” Shit like that.
- If you do start dating everyone would be shocked, let’s be honest these two were the most random couple ever.
- He just enjoys his time with you because he knows the day will come when you two break up so he’s just making the most of it.
- Rlly insecure no matter how serious you two get, you could be moved in together with a pet and he’d still ask “so you like me?”
- you cook him breakfast tbh, sometimes he cooks for you but you prefer to do it.
- These two are freaky asf. No more words necessary.
- You try and compare hand sizes and take pictures of you together.
- Not my favourite pairing but I still love them.
Diana Prince
- You’ve always admired her since Bruce first introduced you.
- She was the most radiant woman you’d ever seen, you fell HARD.
- Definitely Batsis’s bi/pan awakening, you’ve been chasing after her since your first day at the JL headquarters, everyone knows it.
- You’ve been on a few dates and you two regularly flirt.
- Lots of jokes (or not) about her whisking you away to Themyscira and staying there <3
- Media loves you both as well, despite the debate on whether or not you’re dating.
- The definition of “what are we?” You wonder if she’s just playing with you sometimes.
- You still respond to all her calls even if you’re on a date with someone else, she was literally all you ever wanted in your early days.
- The batfam approves of you two together 🫶
Hal Jordan
- Oh boy..these two are one of my faves.
- This relationship starts off sort of toxic?? You only hooked up with him the first time because you were mad at Bruce, AND YOUR FATHER WAS MAD.
- After he does his slut walk out of Wayne manor (in front of your brothers, sister, dad, and grandfather figure mind you) he asks when you two can meet again.
- You don’t keep things professional at headquarters so why should he? So there’s plenty of instances where his eyes wander too long over you, or when you undress him with your eyes at a meeting.
- Bruce doesn’t like it one bit, it’s actually a pregnancy scare that brings you and him together. Even though you found out your period was just late you could still be was slightly disappointed in you not being pregnant. You notice this and don’t bring it up, just invite him out for dinner sometime.
- Batsis the type of woman to pay the bill after he insists “he’s got this.”, yeah he left his wallet at home.
- If you’re moody at headquarters, he would definitely ask you if you’ve “had your period yet?” And he’s met with a firm slap on the head, from you and Dinah.
- These two are such sillies, Bruce isn’t happy, your brothers aren’t happy, but you’re happy. So who even really cares?
John Stewart
- This is the ex bf Batsis still cries over, I don’t wanna spoil anything for my newest fic but these two nearly got married definitely. And Batsis left him at the altar.
- You two end because he decided he can’t be with someone who doesn’t know what they want. Yeah he is the one who made you realise you need to take some to reflect. You just wanted him.
- Hal Jordan literally cried when he found out you two were now a thing.
- Nobody made you feel loved, if you had a spending addiction, HE got you through it.
- Bruce trusts him, his “no dating my colleagues” rule, doesn’t apply to this man because he’s witnessed how much happier you were.
- The only mildly concerning thing was the fact you could NOT shut up about him, it’s always “John” this and “John!” That, your family are genuinely sick of hearing about your amazing love life.
- Keeps you out the media’s eye if you’re not feeling up to any paparazzi that day. He just holds your hand and keeps you next to him.
- If you ever have a panic attack because of any of the paparazzi, he will take you into a secluded spot and just place kisses on top of your head and keep you firmly pressed against him, whilst reminding you “you’re safe.”
- You had no idea what you lost. And that’s why you still cry over him.

what abt a kbd thing where like all the girls either can’t sleep and one by one they all end up all cuddled in w mom & steve
tysm! ♡ kisses before dinner au. mom!reader, 1.3k
"You haven't aged."
Steve's smile is smarmy across the pillow from you. "That's because you see me everyday."
"I'm serious. Apart from like, two little wrinkles in your forehead, you look exactly the same as you did when we first started dating."
"I know it feels like a long time, but that was only eight years ago."
"Almost nine," you whisper.
Steve kisses you gently. "Almost nine," he repeats against your lips. "Are you sick of me yet?"
"No," you answer truthfully. "Not even close."
Steve's hand takes your cheek, his thumb quick to rub the path you like over the skin just below your eye. It makes you feel so pretty to be looked at, to be held by him, and so special to be treated like you're made of glass.
Baby sleeps in the crib in the corner of your room. She's no longer brand new and, as you knew she would, she's gotten used to all the bumps and bangs of a busy house. She sleeps almost always through the night now, eight pm to five or six in the morning. The hardest part of having a young baby is over, and you and Steve are learning to be normal humans again.
You put the girls to bed at seven, and at eight thirty, you can hear them still awake. All of them. None of your girls are subtle, but you try not to punish them, because they've all done well with the new baby's constant crying.
"Who do you think will come and see us first?" Steve asks you, stroking your cheek.
You attempt to answer him through his dotting of kisses, half moons pressed lovingly to your nose, your eyebrow, your temple. Thoroughly loved up, you curl your arms around him to hide.
"Don't know," you murmur, sighing a breath of contentment as Steve hugs you close. "Probably Beth."
"Definitely Beth. I love when you hug me like this, you're like…" He pulls you ever closer, hands massaging up your back. "You're very huggable."
"Not very nice to say, I just had your fourth baby, you know? You could give me a minute."
Steve laughs warmly against your forehead, kiss-kiss-kissing the same spot he always does, your little pale scar from a rogue screwdriver. You'd been constructing Avery's toddler bed, and you swore you could do it alone while he got some sleep, but you almost blinded yourself and Avery slept in bed with you for a couple more weeks. The scar is permanent but nearly invisible. Anyone else would forget you had it.
"I'm not telling you you're beautiful again today. Everyone was jealous and my dinner went cold."
"No one else is here," you say.
"Not true. The baby's here, she might hear me subliminally. That would be worse."
A little knock rings against the door. You and Steve laugh against the other before peeling apart. Steve sits up in bed and you rest your face against his hip, pleased when he covers your arm with a big hand.
"Come in, please," he says.
Bethie slips in through a small gap in the doorway, closing it behind herself. Her hair is out of her face for the night, her pyjamas a bright sky blue with white polka dots. She's hip height now, surprisingly tall —you hadn't been expecting her to shoot up like Avery, nor for her chubby cheeks to disappear, but that's the horror and joy of having them grow up.
"Hi, honey. What's the matter?" Steve asks.
"Can I come and lie down too? I can't sleep."
There's no real reason to say no. You don't have to confer. You slide your legs away from Steve as he pulls back the blanket, beckoning her forward to fill the gap.
She must think getting to hangout with you guys after bedtime is naughty and exciting, giggling as she runs across the room and climbs up onto your bed. You make a big, "Oof," as she drops into your chest but you're happy to have her, kissing you're not so mini me on the cheek.
"You smell nice," you say, sniffing her hair. "Mmm, yummy coconut."
"You smell nice too, mom. Like the green dish soap."
"'Cos dad made me do all the dishes."
Steve pinches the top of your ear and gives it a short tug. "It's good for you. Character building."
"You're lucky my Beth is here," you grumble, your fingertips tracing up and down her back.
"Hello?"
Your heads turn to the door where Dove pushes it open. She doesn't ask like Beth once she sees you all, just sprints to the side where Steve sits and pats his legs. He grabs her to plaster her in kisses. She plasters him right back.
Your mommy's girl is on the turn. You can't blame her.
"You have to get Avery," you say, patting Steve's thigh.
She had a wobble a few months ago worrying she wasn't anyone's favourite kid. You've never seen Steve cry like, ashamed of himself for failing as a father. You haven't failed anything, you'd said, rubbing his arm, we just have to do better.
Steve takes Dove with him on his chest. You can't understand how he carries them around all day, he must have built up some dad muscle.
He's your everything. Well, second to the kids. It's a different kind of love but unfailing, always. You watch him leave and can't wait for him to come back, like a string pulled taut; you're relaxed when he's near.
"Let's move over," you say, shuffling to your cold side of the bed. You'd been encroaching on Steve's space during snuggles.
Beth puts her arm over your soft tummy and her face on your shoulder. "Can I sleep here?" she asks.
Sharing the bed with your kids is a wriggling, boiling mess, but you have a queen size for a reason. "Yeah, gorgeous. You can sleep right here."
Avery is wide awake when she appears, her Teddy bear in hand, her pyjamas an old t-shirt and the new plaid pants you had to buy when you realised she'd outgrown virtually every pair of pyjamas she owned. "I'm happy you missed me, I can't sleep," she says, climbing into bed to squish down next to Beth. "You have glitter on your cheek."
"Where?" Beth asks.
Avery scratches the glitter away carefully, tongue poking out of her lips in concentration. She may as well be Steve's twin when she makes that expression.
Steve has hiked Dove higher now, her arms over one shoulder, his hand patting a mindless rhythm into the pink fabric of her nightie. He checks on the baby quickly before plopping Dove down on Avery's right. "Ready, girls?" he asks.
You all nod. Steve takes the end of the comforter into his hands and shakes it out high, letting the top drift down onto you. Then he comes to your side and tucks it against your waist and legs. He kisses you, Bethie's cheek, and Avery's nose.
Dove is furious by the time he makes it back. "Don't show off, babe, you get the best one." He scoops her up, flops down, and has her laying on his chest. You see him take Avery's hand under the blankets. "So, girls. What's first? Truth or dare or gossip? 'Cos Denise the checkout girl told me something really interesting about Debrah this morning and I've been trying to get you all in the same place."
You smile into Beth's hair. Dove decides for you, "Who's Debrah?"
"I'm glad you asked!"

THE ONE WHERE YOU ASK FOR HELP [EP.1]
I also am still getting to know Colter Shaw. He is being written as I depict him so far, and hopefully, later on, I will be able to know how to write about him perfectly.
Hey guys, this is my first ever fanfic. I know it's not gonna be the best, so please be nice to me.
Please feel free to tell me how I can write better and maybe send it request? I hope you guys enjoy/like this first part.
Colter x F! Reader
Tumblr media
You had been pacing back and forth unable to decide whether to worry about your brother who you haven’t heard from in a week, usually he would call after he arriving to his destination, your brother had caught the traveling bug at a young age like you mother. Unlike you who hated the thought of traveling due to all the responsibilities you had to take in as a young teenager, your mom was always traveling to New places whether it was in the country or international, your father had decided to spilt from you and the rest of the family because he’d grown tired of your mother’s antiques. If you weren’t so protective of your brother you would have left with your dad as well, but because your brother didn’t want to leave mom you ended up sacrificing your childhood, your father still provided financially, but emotionally or physically he wasn’t present.
During all this you had your best friend Colter Shaw to keep you afloat, soon y'all started dating junior year and continued all through your college journey it wasn’t, until Colter decided he wanted to be a rewardist and travel to find missing people for money, you tried making it work, but you were exhausted at the idea of him traveling and doing the long distance thing so you did something that you never wanted to do. You ended things with him, as he was in the middle of proposing, he tried to convince you to work with him, but you explained your issues with traveling and then that was it you never saw or spoke to Colter again.
That is until your brother potentially went missing, you still had Colter's number at least you hoped you thought to yourself, you kept messing with you lips, with furrowed eyebrows, thinking deeply about wondering if you were being to overprotective, that maybe he was alright and you’re just worked up over nothing because let’s be honest your brother wasn’t the best at calling you to assure you he’s fine.
“Fuck it.” You said as you picked up your phone from your bed and scrolled at your contact list until you found his name Shaw you pressed call and as it started to ring your heart started to beat fast and loud, you inhaled and exhaled as you continued to pace in your room, as you were about to hang up, you heard his voice.
“Y/n? Are you alright?” you heard his voice with a lace of worry and confusion, you face palmed yourself wincing at how stupid you probably were- “uh, hello? Y/n are you there?” he interrupted your train of thought “Oh um, yeah hey Colter!” You said a bit more enthusiastically than you intended you cringed at yourself as you shook your head in annoyance why can’t you act cool for once you thought to yourself. “um, sorry to bother you Colter and I wish we would talk under different circumstances, but um- are you still doing that rewards job by any chance?” you asked hoping he would be able to help you with your situation, you heard a chuckle as he answered back a simple yes and asked what was going on with you. You explained to him the situation and he told you how lucky you were because he had just finished a job, he told you how he’d drive up to your place since he was 2 hours away, you thanked him and then hung up the phone.
I decided it would be better if I got dressed, so I took a quick shower even used my favorite scented exfoliator because why not. And did my normal shower routine, then I decided to do my routine that I always do after a shower. I decided to clean up a bit even though it was already pretty clean, once I turned my wax melt on I heard the door bell ring. I straightened myself and checked myself in the mirror to make sure I looked okay, I took a deep breath in and I exhaled it as I opened the door. “Wow! Um, hey, I uh got lost- how is it that all these apartments look very identical?” I laughed Stepping to the side as a sign for him to enter, he smiled as he entered my house noticing I had a shoe rack by the door and he started to take his shoes off. “Thanks for taking your shoes off, most people who visit never do and I’m always to shy to say something.” I explain while shutting the door behind me, he nodded and gave a small smirk, “well I’m very observant and I’ve known you since we were young, every time I entered your room I always had to take my shoes off. Only difference now is I don’t have my own inside pair of slippers to put on.” I frowned a bit at the memory, but let out a breathy chuckle, “I bought a new pair for my brother Chance, for when he crashed at my place. You two have the same shoe size so you can have those,” Colter smiled nodding as a way to silently thank me, I walked up to my little storage closet and got the pair out and handed it to him, he went and sat on my couch and I sat distantly close to him.
I looked at the floor nervously because this was the first time in years we’ve seen each other and first time seeing him, I realized those feelings were still there towards him, and the fact that he had a major glow up. I bit my lip trying to come up with a topic to converse, but my mind wouldn’t stop going down memory lane about how we used to be inseparable and the last thing I said to him was no to becoming his wife. There has always been a part of me that regretted saying no, to breaking up with him just because he chose to do this for a living and the fact that it involved so much traveling, I just couldn’t go through what my mother put me through with Colter. “Y/n?” I looked up confused at him, “I asked you to voice your thoughts.” I looked away a bit flushed at how well he could read me, I even thought for a second he was able to read my mind. “oh well, it's nothing, really.” I tell him making eye contact with him for the first time in 10 minutes, he raised his eyebrow as a way to tell me he didn’t believe me and gave me that look he would always give me that said to spill it or he’d get it out of me. I rolled my eyes and told him how annoying he still was, and that made him laugh, “yeah okay, I hate to mention this, but your brother, why do you think he’s missing?” I sighed, putting my legs up to my chest, looking at my coffee table, taking a deep breath and bolting myself up, starting to pace back and forth, telling him everything I knew and didn’t know.

OKAY, HERE WE GO FINALLY
So, let me introduce you to Nando's Nuggets aka his three little McChildren aka Carlito, Landito and baby Oscar 😘😘😘 (...aka the ultimate nepo baby trio of F1)
This kind of (I feel like this is a hedcanon more) belongs in the pookie au, go check it out ! ->
Huge thanks to everyone in my inbox for fueling this obsession 💚
Lando was a happy little accident born when Fernando was just 18. The relationship with Nando and Lando's mom, Ms. Norris, was pretty chaotic and turbulent and they ended up breaking up before he was even born. Lando stayed mostly with his dad and grew up as a grid-baby with other F1 drivers taking turns in babysitting him. He went through school in the UK since Nando kept his residence there most of the time and Lando got the English accent from there. He's always been around motorsport and it was just a matter of time before he would end up in F1.
Tumblr media
Lando and Oscar grew up apart from each other, as Oscar was living in Australia. But whenever they were together while it was Nando's turn to have Oscar for a week or so, it was the highlight of their childhood. They got along well since they were pretty close in age and quite similar in other ways, too. Lando's mom wasn't around a lot when he was growing up, but as of lately, she has reached out to him again and is in good terms with the whole bunch.
✨✨✨
After Fernando separated from Landito's mom in the late nineties, he got together with this little known Aussie GT driver named Mark Webber. It was love at first sight and they had a really strong bond from the very start. They decided to get a kid together, which was wild since both were quite young and because of how difficult it was at the time for two men to get a child together. But, they somehow pulled through it and in April 2001, baby Oscar came along. (He is biologically Nando's through a surrogate) After a few quite happy years with this little family of two boys, Mark and Fernando eventually started to drift apart and the relationship fell flat. Through a mutual decision, they broke up and Oscar went off to live with Mark in Australia. Fernando still spent a lot of time with Oscar of course, but it was never enough. It was always sad to say good bye at the airport.
Tumblr media
As time went on and Oscar grew older, he wanted to stay in the UK more. He got interested in karting like his two other brothers, and eventually moved over to try and make it into motorsport and connect better with Nando's side of the family. Mark was still very much around as he became Oscar's manager and pulled all kinds of stunts to get little Oscar in the best possible teams. Mark and Fernando are still very good friends and get along well. Oscar is definitely the most spoiled of them all.
✨✨✨
Carlos was an absolute menace and a troublemaker when he was young. When he was around 13-14, he took part in one of Nando's karting camps in Spain and that was really the only thing the kid was interested in. Later, tragically, Carlos would lose his parents in an accident and since he was such a difficult child, no one would take him in. But alas! Fernando heard about it and since he had seen how talented and passionate Carlos was about driving, he wanted to give him a chance and enrolled him into more karting classes at his own expense. Eventually, they became close and Fernando figured out since nobody else was gonna have him and the poor kid needed a proper home, he adopted him. Carlos immediately took the role of big brother to Lando and Oscar and would start to settle down since he now had a responsibility to be their role model. In time (and with lots of trial and error), Nando raised Carlos to be a sensible and well-adjusted young man who could safely be let out into the world knowing he was gonna be okay.
Tumblr media
Carlos' protective nature over his little brothers and dad resulted in him beefing with Lance for years since he didn't exactly like the idea of his dad dating a guy who's four years younger than him. When Nando and Lance got married, it was finally enough proof that Lance wasn't going to leave and break his dad's heart like others had before. Now they're in good terms and Carlos thinks of him quite fondly, but will never admit it. Fernando is incredibly proud of how far Carlito has come and how he's now at Ferrari.
Lance has a pretty good relationship with the bunch overall despite Carlos' apprehensions. He often takes Lando or Oscar on fun trips and likes to hang out with them. Carlos sometimes asks Lance to go golfing with him since he can actually give him some competition.
It's strange for everyone that their step-dad is almost the same age as them (and younger, in Carlos' case), but somehow they make it work. He never actually considers himself to be a parental figure to them, more like a weird kinda fun uncle 🤷 It's weird, the whole family is weird, but they make it work. ❤️

Who's Daughter? - Bakugou x Reader
Tumblr media
2045 words
Warnings: none
+ You are the daughter of Edgeshot and girlfriend to Bakugou Katsuki. You had been dating for a while, and your parents want to finally meet him. The problem is that noone knows you are the daughter of Edgeshot, so Bakugou is in for a surprise.
Quirk- Light Ribbon Whips (Mother has a light quirk)
Y/N's POV
It was a quiet evening at UA. I was scrolling through Facebook while Bakugou was asleep on my chest. I was gently running my fingers through his blonde spikes. He hummed in delight in his sleep. The domesticity of the situation was making my heart flutter.
We have been dating for a while. He had asked me out not long after we moved into the dorms and it was bliss. I was apprehensive at first due to how he was but he convinced me to let him prove himself. He never did anything halfway.
"Cuteness..." I muttered as I brushed the hair from his forehead. My phone softly ringing pulled me out of my stuper. "Hello?"
"Hi there, my Little Whip."
"His Dad." I whispered.
"Something wrong?" His voice became alert.
"Nope. Bakugou is just asleep." I said. My parents knew Bakugou and I spent time in each other's room. They trusted me and didn't tell Aizawa either.
"Oh, alright. That's good." He relaxed. "Actually, he's part of the reason I called."
"Oh really?" I looked down at the boy. I began to run my free hand through his hair again.
"Yes. Your mother and I would like to finally meet him. He makes you so happy and that makes us happy. We don't want to rush anything so when he's ready, we're ready. Just let us know."
"Alright. Wow." I chuckled softly. I stilled when Bakugou shifted. "I'll ask him. But don't go all big tough dad on him Okay. I'm pretty sure he'll just blow up on you."
"Oh, I know. I've met the young man out on the field. I'm more curious to see his reaction when he realizes who your dad is."
"That'll be something." I chuckled softly. "What was the other thing you wanted to talk about?"
"Oh, that was for your mother. Kei! Your turn."
"Thank you." I heard the phone being passed. "Hi Honey."
"Hi mom."
"I just wanted to let you know that I will be leaving in two days for England for work. I'll be gone for around two days."
"Oh okay. Thanks for letting me know. I don't want to call you while you're sleeping, Mama Bear."
"Oh you!" She laughed. "I'm not that grumpy waking up."
"Yes you are!" I heard dad in the background. I had to bite my lip so I wouldn't laugh out loud.
"Alright, alright." She huffed. "Goodnight, sweetie."
"Goodnight you guys." I hung up and plugged my phone in. I used my whip to hit the light switch and settled in myself.
~
It wasn't until lunch the next day that I brought it up with Bakugou. I waited for him to get to the table while trying to think of how to ask him. About halfway through lunch I just decided to ask him outright.
"Hey Bakugou?"
"Hmm?" He looked up at me from where he was leant over his bowl.
"How would you like to meet my parents?" I asked quickly. He choked suddenly, hitting his chest to help.
"Oooo!" Kaminari chimed.
"Shut it spark plug." He glared at the boy with warning sparks before turning back to me. "What?"
"My parents want to meet you. There's no rush of when. Just wherever you're ready."
"Oh." He looked away. He became a little red in the face. I gnawed at my lip, nervous. "Can I think about it?"
"Of course. Whenever you're ready." I assured him. He nodded. I looked down and I went back to gnawing my lip.
"Hey." I felt his thumb press against my lip. I stopped and looked up at him. "Don't do that. It'll be alright."
"Okay." He got up, gave me a peck, and left the table. I shared a look with Kiri and he gave me a smile.
"It'll be okay like he said. It's Bakugou, this is new to him."
"You're right." I nodded before looking in the direction Bakugou went off.
"Since when has Kacchan been so soft?" A giggle forced its way out as that quickly became the topic of the table.
~
It was a few days before Bakugou came to me with an answer. He was quiet for those few days. Unusually quiet. He still spent time with me but he was noticeably distracted. I was starting to get discouraged when he showed up at my room.
"Baby?" I looked up to see him leaving against the door frame with his arms crossed over his chest. He was watching me with a sorry look on his face.
"Hey." I smiled up at him. I was sitting on the edge of my bed with a book in my lap. He gave me a small smile before pushing off the frame.
"First of all, I would like to apologize." He sat on his knees in front of me. "I've been really distant lately. This just threw me off guard. You know that all this sappy relationship stuff is new to me."
"Yeah. I know." I reached up and brushed his cheek. "I knew this would be a bit jarring. But I knew you could handle it."
"Yeah. Of course I can." He smirked. I rolled my eyes. "But on a serious note. I would like to meet your parents."
"Really?" My eyes widened. He nodded. "Awesome. I promise they'll be on their best behavior. As long as you are on your best behavior too."
"Huh!" Before I could blink, I was tackled back onto my bed. "I'm always on my best behavior." He yelled.
"Bakugou!" I laughed. "Maybe we should revisit your definition of 'best'." I poked him in the chest. He glared at me before huffing. He plopped down next to me. "So when were you thinking?"
"This weekend, maybe?" He looked at me.
"Okay. I'll call my parents."
~
"Okay. There's no need to be nervous. My parents are really cool and laid back." I ran my fingers through his hair. He just watched me. He was dressed normally. Black jeans with a simple long sleeve orange shirt.
"I'm not nervous, babe. I think I can handle your parents." He pushed my hand away. I bit down a smirk and he must have taken it as a nervous bite. He brushed his thumb across my lip. "It'll be alright."
"I know." I kissed him softly. He cupped the back of head, deepening the kiss. I pulled away reluctantly. I don't think it would be nice for my parents to find us making out on the doorstep. "Come on. Oh, and don't be too surprised, okay?"
"Surprised? What are you talking about, women?" I just chuckled, pulling him towards the door. I could feel his glare on the back of my head.
"Mom! Dad! We're here!"
"Finally!" Dad exclaimed.
"Shinya!" I heard mom scold followed by a whack and a grunt. I chuckled. We kicked off our shoes at the door and I heard a small popping. I glanced at Bakugou's hand and saw a Spark before he clenched it into a fist.
"Not nervous, huh?" I raised my eyebrow at him.
"Shut up." He grumbled. I grabbed his hand, kissed it, and led him through the living room to the dining room. I could see the dining room table set up before my mother stepped into the room.
"Hello! It is so nice to finally meet you, Bakugou. I'm Y/N's mother, Nissa Kamihara." She held out her hand to him. I could see him grasp her hand gently before shaking it.
"It's a pleasure to meet you too." I could hear the very small shake to his voice.
"Shin. Come on in here!"
"Coming!" Out of the kitchen, my dad appeared. His normal jagged, high hair was in a low ponytail that was draped over his shoulder. He was wiping his hands off with a dish towel. "Welcome Mr. Bakugou." He held out his and they shared a firm handshake. I could see a flash of recognition in Bakugou's eyes and held back a chuckle.
"Hello sir." Bakugou nodded. After they let go, Dad pulled me into his side.
"We've missed you, kid." He hugged me tight and kissed my head. He let me go and I went to hug mom.
"Wait... do I know you?" The confusion on Bakugou's face was amusing. I went and stood next to him as he looked at Dad. He looked at me next. "Babe, I swear that I..."
"Ha ha." I started laughing and buried my head in his shoulder. I could hear my Mom giggling too.
"Hey! What?!" He snapped. I could tell he was irritated but only slightly. He hit my hip to get my attention.
"You actually do know me, Mr. Bakugou." I could see the confusion and irritation grow.
"Just tell him, Dad. Before he blows a fuse." Said boy gave me a small side glare.
"Fine. Fine." Dad chuckled. He walked over to the closet he kept his hero suit in. He pulled out his mask, neck wrap, and shoulder guard. Bakugou's eyes squinted before widering in recognition.
"Edgeshot! Your father is Edgeshot?!" He turned to me.
"Yep."
"What? Why didn't you..." He trained off before turning back to dad. "I thought you didn't have a family." Dad smiled before turning to Mom and pulled her into his side.
"How about I explain over dinner?"
~
"So you see, I just want to protect them. From the media, from villains, everything that is involved with the hero life especially since we had Y/N so young."
"Damn." Bakugou leant back in his chair.
"Yeah. It's not logical for a hero to have a family so young but I wouldn't do it any different." He squeezed moms hand. "Now that Y/N is on her way to being a hero herself, I'm not as worried anymore."
"Are you going to let the world know that you have a family?"
"Possibly. In reality it's not any of the world's business." Bakugou nodded. His hand absentmindedly moved to my thigh in a tense grip. I could tell there was something on his mind. I reached up and ran my hand through his hair.
"Whatcha thinking about, Blasty?"
"Was it hard? Balancing the hero work and your personal life?" Dad sat silent for a minute.
"Yeah. It was. There were times where it was really hard and trying. Times where We didn't know if we could make it through. But it was all worth it in the end."
"Okay." I set my hand on top of his.
After that, the evening became lighter. Bakugou began to act like his normal self. I think he felt more comfortable after realizing he actually knew my Dad. Mom got a taste of the real Bakugou. The angry pomeranian and the soft Bakugou hours. I even heard my Dad and Bakugou having a one on one that I refused to eavesdrop on.
"See you later guys." I called as we left. We walked hand and hand down the sidewalk in a comfortable silence.
"You know, your quirk makes a lot more sense now." He suddenly said.
"Why's that?"
"I always thought that your quirk was similar in a way to Edgeshots in a way. So now it makes more sense."
"Surprise." I chuckled.
"I can't believe you tell me or I didn't figure it out."
"Well in your defense, I don't share a name with my dad for reasons. And I never made any indication of who he was."
"No you didn't!" He grabbed my sides and began to tickle me. I squealed and fought against him. He eventually stopped and just held me to him. He hooked his chin over my shoulder.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you thought."
"Nah." He turned me around. "I understand why you didn't. It's okay."
"Hmm." I smiled before reaching up and nuzzling my nose against his. I kissed him softly. "Kami's right. You have gotten soft." His face shifted in an instant. I laughed, knowing I stirred him up.
"Wha..." I quickly pushed away and ran.
"Race you back!"
"Oh! You little brat!" I heard the familiar popping of his quirk. "You know you can't beat me. No matter if you're a pro's daughter or not."
God, did I love my angry pomeranian.

BNHA Headcanons: What kind of person they would fall in to and how they'd fall in love.
Shoto Todoroki
• Now, we all know how Shoto grew up. He didn't have a happy childhood. He's got Mommy and Daddy issues and even if he's working on it, Shoto's past would definitely affect the way he falls in love.
• He would definitely fall in love to a home maker. Someone mature, someone gentle and good with kids, a girl who's good at cooking, a girl who's soft spoken and all that.
• Shoto wants someone with a positive thinking. His childhood is full of negative vibes and events so meeting someone who's always positive would help him so much.
• Girl you're not therapy but every time he sees you, it feels like everything bad that happened didn't happen at all. Having you by his side makes him hopeful.
• He's young but Shoto is the "date to marry" kind of guy. The moment you two started dating, this kid will imagine having a family with you.
• Shoto is 100% a romantic. This is another visible reflection of his past in his life and personality. Since he saw his parents relationship, he didn't want to be anything like his Dad. He will treat you the way he wished his Mom was treated. I mean, he'll spoil you so be prepared.
• Shoto's love language? Gift giving, acts of service, words of affirmation, physical touch, quality time and everything you could ever think of. He's starving in all forms of love so please spoil him.
• 100% possessive. Not in an unhealthy way, Shoto values you so much, coz you're everything that he wants and need in his life. He's afraid that someone else will take you from him if he takes his eye off of you.
• Shoto will be 100/10 boyfie. Please be nice to him.
—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•
Shoto often wonders how it feels to fall in love. He's seen how it is in television shows and movies that his classmates watch in their free time but he's intrigued on how it happens in real life.
He didn't witness it in his own home so he have no idea.
But he started wondering about all of this because of you. Now, you're great friends and you guys get along really well. Like Deku, he can open up to you pretty easily but Shoto started feeling strange, there's something different with the way he sees you and he knows it.
It all started when he got sick. Yes, Shoto gets sick, even though it's rare. He has a hard time dealing with sickness. He would have nightmares or he would repeatedly call out for his Mom while he sleeps.
After classes, you went straight to the dorm and check up on Shoto just to see him lying on his bed as he calls his Mom over and over again, his voice cracks as if he's close to crying.
"Hey, hey, Shoto-kun. Wake up..." You whispered softly as you gently shake his shoulders to wake him up. His eyes slowly opened and he let out a small gasp of surprise as he looked up at you.
"YN? I-I what are you doing here?"
You smiled warmly and helped him get up on his bed. "Class just finished and I was gonna give you my notes but it looks like you need something else. How are you?" You asked. You were frowing for a bit, your breathing was quite heavy and your eyes were unfocused. Shoto could sense your worry so he gave you a smile to calm you down. "I'm fine, I'll be good to go to class tomorrow." You shook your head and held his hand. "You don't look fine at all. Wait for me here, alright?" Before he could even answer, you already made your way out of his room and he chuckled quietly, it's his first time seeing you panic like that.
When you went back, you were carrying a tray with food on it. "I cooked some porridge for you and I brought some meds." You told him as you place the tray in the table beside his bed. You sat on the edge of his bed, you picked up the spoon and you met his eyes. "Say 'ahh', Sho." Shoto was hesistant at first but he still opened his mouth and let you feed him.
"You know, I'm well enough to feed myself." He said after drinking some water. "I know, but I want to take care of you." You answered. Shoto looked at you as you look at the medicines you brought with you. "These are the ones recommended for someone with your quirk. I was told it's natural for you to have an unstable temperature every now and then because of your quirk. And all we can do is try and regulate your body temp." You handed him a tablet and the glass of water. Shoto just looked at it but your disappointed sigh made him take the meds from your hand.
After drinking his meds, you placed a hand on his forehead and your eyes widened when you noticed how cold he was. "Are you okay? Aren't you cold?" Shoto nods his head, "I'm good. It's just because of my quirk." He lied down and you still couldn't be at ease knowing that this happens to him. Knowing his family history, you'd know that Shoto wouldn't let anyone else help him whenever he's sick.
"Refrain from using your quirk. Even if you're cold, you can't use your fire to heat yourself up. Just wrap yourself in a blanket for now." You tucked him in before you stood up and made your way to his cabinet. Your eyes scanned his belongings, looking for particular clothes and when you saw it you whispered a small yey before you went back to Shoto's bed.
"Wear this jacket, you can just take it off once you start heating up."
Shoto finds himself feeling much better, he was listening to your stories about how the classes went today but he drifted off to sleep, it must be the medicines but the last thing he heard was you ranting about Bakugo's attitude.
You noticed Shoto's lack of response and when you looked at him, you smiled. He's finally asleep, you brushed the strands of his hair that covers his eye. You gently traced his scar and you felt bad. He's gone through so much in such a young age.
"You deserve some rest, Sho-kun." You whispered before leaning down to kiss his forehead.
It was only one of the many occasions that you've made Shoto feel like he's so worthy to be love and taken care of. He was not used to that kind of kindness and gentleness, he didn't know how to react properly but he just finds himself wanting more of your love and care.
He was injured after a villain attack. It was nothing major and serious but you showed up on the school's clinic after he got treatment for Recovery Girl, you were bawling your eyes out, checking him up as you look for any injuries.
"I'm fine, stop crying."
"Stop charging towards the enemy like that! You didn't know their quirks but they know yours! You wouldn't know if they can—" he hugged you tightly to shut you up. He's smiling, he's smiling like a goddamn idiot as he felt you bury your head on his neck, still crying, whispering how worried you were and he loved it. He loved how you fit so perfectly in his arms on that moment.
"Hush now, my love. I'm safe."

Hello! Goodmorning/afternoon/evening! This is my first time sending a request to someone here in this app and i hope i'm doing it right:')) AGHGHH I'M NERVOUSS. But, i've always loved your family formations au and i always anticipate new chapters of it^^
For the past few hours i've been having brainrots of Itafushi and i miss them so much:'))
I'd like to see Megumi's reaction at Ozawa's confession abt Yuji in that restaurant. Would he be jealous or akward? Like, imagine him getting a bit shy to tell her Yuji and him are dating😖
You could write this when you're in the mood to write ff again^_^
I just love you and your stories so much^^
𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗸𝘂𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗸𝗶’𝘀 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 - ꜰᴀᴍɪʟʏ ꜰᴏʀᴍᴀᴛɪᴏɴꜱ ʙᴏɴᴜꜱ
Tumblr media
pixie says: this was just what i needed - some fluff and sweetness and itafushi in family formations goodness, ily nonnie <3
Megumi couldn’t help but scowl at a smirking Nobara.
She was seated beside him - both across from the tall, pretty brunette smiling sheepishly at them both.
“So, Fushiguro, you’re closest with Itadori. Does he have a girlfriend?” She said, arched eyebrow raised.
Little shit-stirrer.
He should have known it would be something like this when Ijichi turned the car around at her behest - she lived for the drama. Nobara’s logic probably went something along the lines of: oh, why tell this girl my best friend has a boyfriend when I could get his boyfriend here instead?
“I think you’d know best - considering how close you guys are, and how much time you spend together - does he have any photos of a girlfriend in his room? You seem to spend a lot of time in there.” Her pale pink nails drum on the table.
He tries to come up with a sharp retort - but flusters at Kugisaki’s insinuation.
He’s not quite sure how to respond.
He’s not exactly the type to say “Oh, Itadori? The boy I’ve been in love with for months? The boy who had his arm wrapped around my waist when I woke up this morning? Sorry, BITCH, he’s taken.”
Plus - the B-word (boyfriend, not bitch) had never come up. The revelation of mutual romantic interest was only several weeks old - Megumi hadn’t though of a label until now, it hadn’t seemed necessary.
So - what he settled on had Kugisaki snorting.
“No. Itadori doesn’t have a girlfriend.” H
He sure as shit wasn’t going to give this nightmare classmate beside him the satisfaction of seeing what she wants to see.
Jealousy.
Ozawa was pretty, very pretty in fact. Dainty features with a fantastic physique - pretty much exactly Itadori’s type in a person. Sure, he was tall too - and a lean physique came with the job as a sorcerer. He had delicate features too. Itadori said he loved his eyes - so that’s a point in his corner. He’s not sure if he has the big butt Itadori said he likes, but it’s gotta at least be toned from all the running he does with the dogs.
Ozawa however, she was soft. Smoother around the edges. No sullen nature or manical frenzies, no shadows (Ten or otherwise). Maybe, Yuuji would prefer…
No. Fushiguro Megumi was absolutely not going to allow that train of thought. He puts a pin in it by imagining what his mom and dad would say.
“Megumi! You are the son of the world’s strongest sorcerer, and underneath layers of sullen ‘oh I’m a grumpy teenager and I like weezer’ is a very sweet baby boy!” Says imaginary Gojo. Annoying even in fiction.
“You stop that right now young man! Do we need to do our morning affirmations? ‘Toru! Get me the mirror!” Imaginary Y/N announces.
During the time he zoned out - he hadn’t noticed Nobara making a phone call.
That was, until a large figure stood at the table.
“Kugisaki? What do you want?” His head snaps up - when the hell did Yuuji get here?
Ozawa was staring up at him with stars in her eyes.
Truth was, he couldn’t blame her. When Yuuji walked into the room - it always felt like the sun had come out on a rainy day, banishing all the cold and damp. The eternal warmth of his presence permeated through to even the most frigid parts of a persons soul until they could no longer imagine a world without Itadori. His smile was wide as he greeted Kugisaki, and his honey brown eyes looked like home.
Plus - Yuuji had always been toned - since he first saw him on the athletics field of his school he could easily see that, but the past (almost) year of sorcery training had filled him out even further. Biceps straining against the seams of his uniform - holding on for dear life (Yuuji refused to get a new uniform, he said the fact that Gojo-sensei designed it for him made him happy), plus - he’d grown too. Now standing at only an inch or two smaller than Megumi. Nobara had dragged him to her hairdresser too, insisting on a proper haircut because in her words ‘you might not look as bad if you don’t cut your hair with a kitchen scissors.” Megumi knew she just liked spending time with him, but he’d let her pretend.
Fuck, he loved that boy.
Silly, selfless, beautiful and brave boy.
Yuuji’s head turned to the other side of the table, eyes looking straight at Ozawa. Even Megumi - in all his possessiveness - hoped he’d recognise the girl.
“Oh, hey Ozawa!”
Thank every potential god.
“Hello, Itadori-kun.”
“It’s so good to see you! How have you been? Why are you in Tokyo? I see you’ve met my boyfriend, Megumi!” He rattles off as he squishes in beside Megumi, slipping an arm around his waist and ignoring a protesting Nobara.
Wait -
Boyfriend?
He introduced him as his boyfriend.
He smiled to himself. How very Yuuji - he didn’t even ask, didn’t need to. He was his, completely.
Who needs jealousy when you’ve got a boy like this?
“O-oh, boyfriend? Oh no - I’m very sorry, Fushiguro. I meant no offence.” Ozawa floundered.
Yuuji looked very confused.
Megumi just shrugged and nodded at the girl, muttering that it’s fine and she didn’t know - adding in the Kugisaki was a shit-stirrer.
Yuuji still looked confused. Megumi squeezed his hand under the table three times, a signal he’d copied from Y/N and Gojo. 3 squeezes means I love you, 4 means I love you too. He smiled at the table when he got 4 squeezes back.
Ozawa and Itadori caught up for a while, reminiscing about old times until eventually it was time to go, signalled by Yuuji forgetting his own strength and pulling Megumi by the hand out of the booth and rambling about Popcorn and Human Earthworms.
Megumi nodded, agreeing to go.
The things he did for this boy.
“You coming, Kugisaki?” Yuuji asks as they stand from the table.
“I’ll catch up with you guys.” She says, shooing them away.
“Okay! Bye Ozawa! It was really nice to see you!” Yuuji says, waving as he walked away.
Once they were sat in the movie theatre, Megumi looked at Yuuji.
He felt really grateful.
So, his long fingers found purchase on his boyfriends chin, turning his face toward him and pressing a soft kiss to his lips.
“Eh? What was that for?” Yuuji says, smiling and holding the hand.
“Can’t I kiss my boyfriend without the third degree?” Megumi smirked, and rejoiced in the flustered Yuuji.
“Of course you can! Here, do it again! So I can show you how okay it is!” Yuuji said, hair threading in Megumi’s thick black locks, and kissing him deeper.
They remained that way, soft kisses passing back and forth whilst the trailers played until a gagging sound came from beside them.
“Get a room, fucking hell. I’d expected more of you, Fushiguro.” Groaned the freshly arrived Kugisaki.
“Go to hell.”
“Shut up, ‘Bara!” Yuuji retorted.
“Where were you, anyway? Movies about to start.” Megumi asks, settling in with Yuuji’s arm around his shoulder.
“Exercising the power of my unending rizz. Wasn’t letting Ozawa leave the diner without a date for next weekend now, was I?” She smirked, wiggling her phone displaying the other girls Instagram.
“What about Zen’in? Are you suddenly not crazy about her?” Fushiguro questions.
“Well - a little jealousy never hurt anyone did it? Plus, Ozawa knows it’s for the pursuit of a certain girlboss martial artist - I reintroduce her to Yuuji, she helps me get Maki.” She shrugs, stealing a handful of popcorn.
“Why are you the way that you are?” Was all the two boys had to say in response to their cackling best friend.
Megumi had never been more glad that the King of Curses was the only complication in his relationship.

chucky got any game or
Yes he does!
Y’all might not believe this, and even Chucky himself doesn’t believe it sometimes. As a younger man he definitely did not have game. He could hardly get past a crush or a talking stage, let alone a full relationship. He didn’t have the confidence or self-sufficiency needed for a stable partnership, and nobody wanted to date a guy who still asked his mom for permission to go out despite being well into his 20s. (And even Dottie was tired of him relying on her this much.) Any positive and engaging traits he did have seemed to go out the window whenever he tried to make a move as he always let his fears get in the way. He never went out of his comfort zone and he suffered for it…until recently.
Enter Till.
Tumblr media
An elder care worker, they met Chucky while working at the nursing home Dottie lives in. It started with just passing by each other while Chucky was visiting his mom, and soon progressed to chats in the kitchen away from the old folks where they could get to know each other better. And then Till starts inviting him out to do things! Simple activities like seeing a movie or watching one of their water polo matches but “Oh my gosh is this a date? Is this something friends just do or do they LIKE me like me?”
They also share some more vulnerable moments together:
Tumblr media
As a nurse for the elderly, Till is mostly used to the ups and downs of the job. Watching patients pass on is pretty typical and expected, but that never makes it easy. Most of the time they can deal with it and compartmentalize for their other patients but it does get to them. Especially since their own parents died when Till was fresh out of college and they know how deeply that loss aches. Here they are having a moment after the death of a patient as Chucky comes in to comfort them. This was a big moment in the development of their bond.
Chucky really likes Till and realizes that if he keeps being a wimp like he was before, then he would very easily lose their interest. The thought of being in their life and being more than friends inspires him to finally start working on himself for real. He tries to put himself out there, pick up some hobbies—talks to people at Till’s water polo matches and eventually puts together a DND group, for example. He starts doing some things without his mom’s permission (but always tells her about them afterwards). And he takes the initiative to ask Till out! He gives them a simple bouquet of flowers and stumbles through a confession but it means a lot to them, as it was all heartfelt. And from there they’re officially an item!
Tumblr media
Till, despite also approaching their midlife, never had all that much success in love either. They’ve had some partners but they never got very far, and a job in the medical field didn’t make dating any easier. So Till and Chucky get to experience many firsts together! The two of them make each other feel young as they fall hard and fast for each other, and before they know it they’re progressing to further steps of their relationship.
Till’s bug family loves Chucky too!
Tumblr media
As Chucky’s creator I know I joke about him being ugly and weird lol but that’s exactly what a lot of people say about insects too, leading them to be very misunderstood. Till sees their charm and beauty just as they adore Chucky! To them he’s perfect 💙
Till belongs to my close friend @yellowandanxious4eva who first posted them here! Please give them lots of love! 💛 We have been planning this relationship for awhile and I’m so excited to have had the opportunity to post about it.
We’re still working on designs but get ready to see some little Dompler babies soon! In the meantime we’re always planning new things for their relationship so please feel free to send in some asks about Chucky and Till!

planets aligned
three
trigger warning: mention of self harm
it’s been three months. three incredible, amazing, beautiful, months since you’ve met eddie. you enjoyed every second of your time with eddie. he was sweet, charming, respectful, and caring. he made you laugh like no one else could. for the last three months the two of you gotten to know each other.
you both decided to keep things low key. with the beginning of a relationship being so fragile, you didn’t want anyone to fuck it up. you both knew how crazy your fans could get. you didn’t want to risk losing each other. but not telling people went beyond just your fans. eddie decided he wasn’t ready for his daughter to know and you weren’t ready for fariah to know.
but after three months, eddie thought telling his daughter was the right time. he wanted the two most important women in his life to get to know each other. with his daughter already being a fan of yours, he knew she’d be excited.
what he wasn’t expecting was her high pitch scream to nearly burst his eardrum.
“oh, ry! way to bust your old man’s ear drums?”
“sorry, daddy! it’s just, you’re dating yn. the yn? she’s been my idol for years now. how long have you been seeing her?”
“just a few months now. listen, i really want you to me her.”
rylee squeals. “when?! god tell me it’s soon. where would we go? what would we do? what should i wear? daddy, you have to take me shopping before meeting her. i can’t believe im gonna meet yn.”
eddie playfully rolls his eyes as his daughter start to ramble. she was just like eddie in so many ways but had her moms looks.
“slow down, ry! remember she’s a person, okay? don’t go scaring her off, yeah?” eddie jokes. rylee rolls her eyes at her father.
the next day you came over. knocking on the door nervously, eddie greets you with a smile. he moves out of the way to let you in.
eddie could tell you were nervous. he gently caresses your cheek before kissing you softly. “everything’s gonna be fine, baby. i promise she’s gonna love you!”
a few minutes later you see eddie’s daughter coming down the steps. she was wearing a t shirt from one of your collections. eddie groaned at his daughter as she steps in front of you guys. “i thought i told you not to treat her differently. what’s with the shirt?”
you shake your head. “it’s cool! it’s one of my favorites i designed believe it or not.”
“yn is in my living room! daddy, yn is in our living room! you’re so cool. why are you dating my father?”
“hey! i have you know young lady i am one of the hottest metal artist known to man.”
you laugh.
“not hot enough to date the yn, dad! i mean, she is perfect. im sorry. normally i am not like this around other celebrities. but you’re my idol. you’re so pretty, kind, sweet, and you’re an inspiration. i have always loved how inclusive you are and how you’re not afraid to tell people off. i know im rambling but i struggled with the way i looked for so long. been bullied, picked on, torn down so many times. when you came out i finally became more confident and started defending myself.”
“baby, it’s okay.”
eddie knew his daughter only rambled this much when she was having a lot of feelings.
“thanks, daddy. sorry again yn.”
“no, it’s cool! im glad i helped you build confidence. means a lot. that’s all ive ever wanted to do for others.”
the three of you enjoy each other company. soon you had dinner together and you got to know rylee better. eddie was happy his girls were getting along. seeing you with rylee made him feel like she could finally be happy again. it made him feel like he can give her a family.
rylee was eight when her mother died. she was young but had a little understanding that her mother was gone. eddie hated seeing his little girl live without her mom.
when rylee was thirteen she showed signs of depression. eddie didn’t know how bad it was until he saw the scares on her arm. he cried with his daughter in his arms as she explained how she was being bullied and how cruel a lot of the kids were being. eddie hated seeing his little girl go through so much hurt. it made him wish bri was still alive. she would know what to do, what to say, how to handle the situation.
it was only so much eddie could do. he felt like he was failing his daughter. over the next few months, after finding rylee someone to talk to and getting her the hell out of that fucked up preppy school filled with rich prick children that never had to work in their lives and posh ass parents, eddie noticed a change in rylee.
she was happier. eddie assumed it was therapy. but she started mentioning you. going on and on about this new model who was a huge advocate on mental health and loving yourself. rylee adored you. you had helped her find herself and even helped her stand up for herself. she went out to buy posters of you, books you’ve written, and adored your clothing line. you were a huge inspiration to her.
two years later, at the age of fifteen, rylee still adored you. you saved his little girls life. meeting you was a happy accident. he wasn’t expecting to fall for you so quickly. seeing you here with his daughter, seeing her smiling, laughing, and enjoying her time with you, it only made his heart grow fonder for you.
once you all were finished with dinner, you helped eddie clean up. once the two of you finished he wraps his arms around your waist. he kisses the side of your head. you smile lovingly before turning around to face him.
“do you think she likes me? not just as yn but as, whatever this is.”
eddie chuckles. “first, she adores you. i never seen her so happy. she really enjoyed getting to know you better. and secondly, this is what you call a relationship, baby. you and i, me and you. together.”
“does that make you my boyfriend?”
eddie winced. “im a forty-two year old man, baby. calling you my girlfriend feels premature.”
you laugh. “so what would you call this?”
“id like to call you my life long partner. someone i want to spend the rest of my life with someday. my love, my heart, my soul.”
“yeah?” you asked shyly.
“mhm. what do you say? want to be stuck with this old man forever?”
“id like that very much, eds.”
“good! ill go buy a ring.”
you laugh thinking he was joking until he shakes his head and caresses your cheek. “‘m serious, baby.”
“eddie, you’re not proposing for real are you?”
“if i am?”
“ill be very pissed at you! you cannot propose to me looking like this. i look a mess eddie! im wearing one of your t shirt, a hair scarf, and my nails aren’t done!”
eddie lets out a breath before laughing. “who fucking cares, baby. i think you look fantastic, yeah? come on! we can fly to vegas right now. grab rylee and get married.”
“eds! my parents will be pissed if i marry someone without planning a wedding and going all out.”
“who gives a shit! we can plan a big wedding another time. come on, let’s go get married. remember, i told you im a live in the moment, carpe diem! come on, baby.”
you bite the bottom of your lip. “ill have to go home and pack.”
“okay.”
“and i want a nice dress. not too flashy! let’s save that for the big wedding.”
“sure.”
“okay.”
“okay?!”
“okay! let’s get married.”
eddie picks you up and spins you around. he runs upstairs to go tell his daughter the news while you text fariah, letting her know you’re gonna be gone for a little bit. you hear rylee screaming before she sprinted downstairs to you.
“tell me my dads not taking the piss out of me. are we all going to vegas right now? are you about to marry my dad?!”
“yes. are you okay with this? because if you—”
“you’re shitting right?! this is the best news ever! you’re gonna be my step mom. holy, fuck! yn yln is gonna be my step mom! i gotta go pack.”
eddie walks over to you with a suitcase. your eyes widened. “you packed fast!”
“technically i packed two weeks ago.”
“what?”
eddie starts opening his suitcase. “you know how i said we should go ring shopping earlier? well, i kind of did already, baby. i saw this ring two weeks ago and knew. i had to ask you to marry me immediately.”
eddie pulls out the most beautiful engagement ring you’ve seen. you hold out your hand and he puts it on your ring finger.
“oh, eds! it’s beautiful.” eddie kisses you passionately. you wrap your arms behind his shoulders, kissing back with equal passion.
“are we ready to do?!”
the two of you pull away from one another before eddie hums. “just one more stop. then we can buy everything there before we get married!”
“lets go!”
eddie grabs your hand as his daughter walks in front of you. you were about to marry eddie munson in just a few short hours.

Hi Cas I'm sorry I've never sent an ask here but I literally do not know what to do.
So TW violence???
My dad passed away a year and a half (?) ago, and about a year ago my mom started dating this pretty young guy.
He was annoying. I thought maybe I was being biased but I didn't really mind my mom having a bf after my dad??? So I didn't think much of it and decided she's her own woman and can make her own choices, right? She deserves having some fun, especially after being about 3 years caring for my dad's sickness.
Well. My mom and this guy were on and off because he's a fucking idiot, as in, they'd just discuss stuff because they were both stressed about their own thing. For context, this guy divorced his wife and his wife took their kid (she was still 2yo) away from him, permiting no contact for over 2 or 3 months.
Well. He has the kid now (since they found out her grandma on her mother's side literally hits her. A two year old little girl, so he's obviously going for full custody). They had some big fight that I didn't really care about (since I always found him annoying). And my brother just told me (it's 2:30am, my brother told me @1) that he hit my mom, and that's the reason they fought
She's a social worker. She helps people (specially women & genderqueer people) get out of abusive situations, relationships (romatic, in contexts of work, etc)
And she just went over to his house, and is staying the night
And she told my cisgender, straight, 16yo younger (with violent tendencies classic from teen boys, somewhat??) brother about this and didn't tell me.
And I. I don't know. Should I be doing an intervention?? I don't want this guy at my mom's 50th birthday. I don't want him ever in this house again. I actually want him very far from my mom and my family in general.
But she's staying over, and she didn't tell me, and- he's not a violent guy, I think? But he hit her, and she went back, and I've been contemplating murder so often on the last couple weeks (2 times, one for the girl's grandma, and one for this guy- which is 2 times more often than usual??? And like, actually think about it, not just some hypothetical shit- and it's honestly worriesome)
I just want my mom to stop being an idiot (she knows by MEMORY the- all the things that happen in toxic/abusive relationships what are you even doing woman, I get that you're a victim but I've been telling you to break up with him for over three months –before I even knew this happened–)
Sorry that's err. A lot of text. There's just so much context and fuck I want my mom to cut ties there, so much, and I wish she trusted me with this, and- idk what to do at this point
Hi!
So I left this text because it's not detailed, but I'm going to TW my response because it's my own personal experience. So TW- abuse
First, we don't murder people. Ever.
Second, I think the thing with abuse is you don't realize you've gotten pulled into the cycle until it's far too late. Abusers are charismatic and are great at lovebombing and AMAZING at telling you it'll never happen again and then immediately doing it again. The cycle of abuse, in my experience, is like quicksand. It's almost impossible to get out of.
It's also super embarrassing. Because even as the logical, independent part of you knows it's wrong, you still stay. You tell yourself it won't happen again, or that you'll leave next time. And then you don't. And you feel SO unworthy and shameful and unloved, because the abuser convinces you that you don't deserve anything better.
All this to say, I think the best way to tackle this would be to talk to one of your mom's close friends or family members. Share your concerns. Because concerns coming from her child are just going to make her feel defensive and probably angry and she's not going to listen. She might listen to an adult.
Also please don't take it personally that your mom didn't tell you. People who are abused should NOT feel shame, but trust me when I tell you that it's so hard to tell people because it just makes you feel about 2cm tall.
I'm sorry that you're going through this and I'm so glad you recognize the signs of abuse <3 Naming you trusted anon

AITA for cutting off a friend over an inappropriately timed confession?
tl;dr at end. it’s been a while since this went down, but i’m still feeling uncertain about it all.
i (18m) hosted a birthday party a few months ago. the guest list was small since the activity i chose was pricey. among the guests was a guy we’ll call carson(17m, same grade). i honestly was already drifting away from him before this incident, and sort of regretted inviting him, but i’d already told him about it and had just known him for so long, it felt mean not to. the day’s plan was to grab lunch at my favorite restaurant, drive everyone to the activity, do that, drive everyone back to my house for cake, and then send everyone home. at lunch, people handed me gifts. carson hands me the actual gift and a card with a printed sheet of paper tucked inside. the card’s paragraph text was normal enough, but then i open the paper inside, and it’s a goddamn love poem. like, “i’m scared of how you’ll react if i give you a valentine” levels here. i am not into poetry even a little. i’m obviously uncomfortable because i barely like him as a friend, but i thank him and move on.
for some background, carson and i dated in name only for about five or six days during the pandemic. we didn’t actually do anything, i think i was just bored and lonely. i am attracted to men, just not him. i am also autistic, and he’s suspected to be. he also has a pretty shit home life(he’s recently pivoted to “actually my home life is great!” but none of us really buy that. i won’t go into it though, it’s not really relevant nor my business), and that might affect how he views relationships, since his parents had a pretty nasty divorce when he was young.
after cake, everyone left except carson. he then says something like “do you remember when we dated sophmore year?” he gives this stuttering, rambling buildup that ends in him asking if i’d like to go out with him. i tell him no, and he apologizes for if he made me uncomfortable. i lie and tell him he didn’t. i was actually extremely uncomfortable because as the host i couldn’t leave! i really felt cornered. after more awkwardness i ask when his ride will get here, and he says his mom is already here, he just “needed to get it off his chest.”
a little more context, i had some pretty shit birthday parties in the past, and only started having them again last year after being tired of them going badly.  they’re still an incredibly sensitive time for me. i’ve told him this, although he claimed to not remember(i’m not sure whether him lying or forgetting would piss me off more.)
two months or so go by, and he still hasn’t apologized. i realize that i’m not going to get over this like i hoped i would, so i confront him, asking him why he would do that. he basically tells me that he didn’t think about it, and is sorry i got upset.
here’s where i might be the asshole. i was giving him the cold shoulder before, but after his apology, i completely cut him off. i refuse to even acknowledge his presence when he’s around with my other friends. i know he apologized, but i’m just still so mad at him, and it felt like such a non-apology that he only gave because i asked him to. my friends who have other personal grievances against him think i’m in the right to cut him off, but my family says i’m being too hard on him, and that he was just trying to shoot his shot and mistimed it. i’m definitely not going to make up with him because even thinking about him pisses me off. but i feel like such a dick for doing this, and i’m still thinking about it months later. am i the asshole here?
tl;dr, friend asks me out at my birthday party when birthdays are a sensitive subject for me, i cut him off after thinking his apology isn’t good enough
What are these acronyms?

The Dating Game
The Dating Game
Author’s Note: Hello everyone. This is a fic I’ve had written out for a while and I’ve finally gotten around to writing. I’m planning on turning this into a family drama series. Basically Reader is getting into this new relationship and her family has opinions. Enjoy!
Warnings: some mentions of smut, divorce
You never imagined yourself being a divorced single mom. An ex wife. You were a woman who had fallen out of love. So you forced yourself to make a logical step and end the suffering. But it was hard saying goodbye. Even if you barely recognized the person you were leaving.
~
You first spotted Suguru Geto at a party in college. In the sea of drunken students sloppily grinding against one another, there he stood sipping on a beer. He had long dark hair pulled up into a messy bun, sharp eyes, and broad shoulders. Your friend Yuki took notice of your interest in the handsome stranger.
“Go talk to him,” she urged.
“I can’t,” you whispered. “Look at him. He’s gorgeous.”
Yuki spotted the host of the party, Satoru Gojo, and flagged him over.
“What’s up?” he asked.
Yuki brazenly pointed directly to the person of interest. “That guy with the bun. What kind of girl is his type?”
“Suguru? I dunno. Why? Are you interested?”
“No (Name) is.”
Satoru grinned at you. “Really?”
You sighed in defeat. If they insisted on putting you on the spot you might as well get some more information about him.
“How do you know him?”
“We went to the same high school. He’s been my best friend ever since.”
“Okay, enough about your coming of age story. What’s his major? What does he want to do?”
“Theater. He wants to be an actor.”
“Really? Your friendship must be pretty crowded with two divas in the picture,” Yuki chortled.
“Haha. So do you want me to introduce you or not?”
You looked back over to Suguru.
“Yes, please,” you decided.
“Suguru,” Satoru shouted. “Someone wants to meet you.”
~
He was perfect.
Handsome, charming, intelligent, and kind.
Pure perfection.
So at the end of the night when he asked for your number you happily obliged him. From then on the two of you spent an increasing amount of time together. Getting coffee, driving around in his run down car, making love in his cramped apartment.
And you were happy.
Happy within the relationship the two of you had crafted.
~
“Suguru,” you giggled. “I’m going to be late.”
You had a meeting with your advisor in half an hour regarding your med school application. But your boyfriend held you hostage in his clutches.
“So?” he murmured, kissing down your neck.
“So, if I’m late, I’ll miss the meeting, I won’t get into med school, and you’ll be stuck hearing about it for the rest of your life.
Suguru sighed in defeat and sat up, pulling you up with him. “Okay.”
He got up from the bed and collected your clothes for you.
He handed you the small pile he’d gathered, and before you could thank him he said something that made everything come to a grinding halt.
“We should get married.”
You furrowed your brow in confusion. “What?”
“We should get married,” he repeated.
“Suguru…no. We can’t.”
He was unfazed by your refusal.
“Why can’t we?”
You set your clothes down next to you.
“We’re too young. We’re still in school,” you argued.
“After we graduate. It’s only another year away,” he retorted.
“I’m supposed to go to med school. You're supposed to be an actor.”
“We can do those things and be married.”
Before you could counter his point he got down on his knees and took your hand in his.
“I’m crazy about you (Name). I love you. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
You smirked. “Aren’t you supposed to put a diamond on my finger?”
He smirked right back at you. “Is that a yes?”
“That’s a maybe.”
The two of you were married at the end of the year.
~
It started out sweet, with the two of you very much in love.
Back when you were determined you could navigate a cramped apartment, studying, work, and all the other things that made your marriage.
After two years your home grew a little smaller with the addition of your twin daughters, Mimiko and Nanako.
~
You rocked Nanako in your arms while you attempted to continue reading from your textbook.
She’d cry throughout the night, and would only cease when either you or Suguru held her.
“Nanako, it’s alright angel. It’s alright,” you whispered through her wails.
Fortunately Suguru came through the door just in time.
“(Name),” he called out, quickly shutting the door behind him.
He approached you with a dumbstruck look on his face.
“What happened?” you asked.
“I got it.”
You gasped and stood up. “You got the part!”
“The director hired me on the spot,” he admitted in disbelief.
You would have screamed if you could, but Mimiko was still asleep in the twins' shared crib. So instead you kissed your husband in relief.
“I’m so proud of you.”
He plucked Nanako out of your hands and kissed the top of her head.
“So no more waiting tables,” you chuckled.
“I’m quitting tomorrow.”
You yawned. “In the meantime. I still need to study for my exam tomorrow.”
He nodded. “Study. I’ve got the twins.”
~
After Suguru got his first role, he went on to get his second, then third. All stand out performances that garnered the attention of directors and executives, both domestic and abroad.
Meanwhile, you were making progress of your own. Graduating from med school and working your way up from a surgical intern to an attending.
It should have been perfect. But the flaws were easier to spot as time went on.
~
Gradually you and Suguru grew distant, sleeping in different rooms and struggling to maintain a civil conversation. Tensions built up and the two of you began to bicker. Small spats morphed into egregious fits of rage.
~
“(Name),” Suguru hissed.
You ignored him as you continued to chop carrots for the twins dinner. They were thirteen at that point, far grown from the babies you had held in your med school days.
He groaned in frustration and raked a hand through his hair.
“(Name) please,” he enunciated through his clenched jaw.
You scraped the chopped carrots into the pot on the stove and stirred the contents with a wooden spoon.
He guffawed in disbelief. “So that’s it. You’re not going? I’m getting an award and you don’t care.”
“Not as much as you care about me embarrassing you.”
“Seriously?”
You slammed the wooden spoon onto the countertop with an excessive amount of force.
“Sorry but I don’t feel like playing the doting wife tonight. My day was hard. I had back to back surgeries. At my real life job. I’m tired. So no Suguru, I have no interest in sipping champagne with your friends.”
“So my job isn’t a real job? Well it paid for your med school tuition. And it paid for this house where I come home and get no support from you!”
You practically shrieked at him. You marched over to the coffee table in the living room and scooped up the invite for the ceremony.
“We cordially invite Suguru Geto and his wife Mrs. Geto.”
He stormed over to where you stood. “And?”
“What do you mean and? Mrs. Geto? I’m not Mrs. Geto. I’m Dr. (Last Name). I worked hard for that title, Suguru. You didn’t even bother coming to my white coat ceremony!”
“Because I was working! God! You’re being hysterical. I can’t talk to you when you're like this.”
“Fine. I’m sick of talking to you. Go to your stupid ceremony with Mei Mei. I’m sure she’d love to hear you talk.”
You shoved the invitation into his hand and he crumpled it in his fist. “We did a couple of press tours together. Nothing happened.”
You scoffed. “Well the articles all over my newsfeed say otherwise.”
“Can we go one day without an argument? I’m sick of it.”
“Just go,” you hissed.
He picked up his suit jacket and shrugged it on. “Fine. I’m going.”
“Fine.”
~
Mimiko backed away from the door to their apartment and looked over to her sister.
“It sounds really bad this time Nana,” she whispered.
Nanako just wrapped her arm around her sister and steered her back towards the elevator.
“It’ll be okay Mimi.”
~
A few days later Mimiko approached you at the breakfast table.
“Mom,” she mumbled.
You looked up from your morning paper with a smile. Not a real one, and while you found it convincing Mimiko could tell.
“Good morning angel, do you want me to make you some breakfast?”
She shook her head.
“Well maybe we could go out for breakfast today?” you suggested. “Then afterwards we can do some shopping.”
She shook her head again. You set your paper down. “What’s wrong angel?”
She tucked a loose piece of hair behind her ear. “Um…a few days ago. When we got home from school we could hear you yelling.”
Your smile faltered. “Oh, I see.”
“Nanako said it’ll be okay,” she mumbled. “But she’s been saying that for so long.”
She broke down and started to cry. You quickly got up to comfort your daughter, allowing her to soak your blouse with her tears.
~
When Suguru returned from his morning run he found you waiting for him on the edge of your bed.
“We need to talk,” you stated.
He pulled his hair out of his bun and shook it out. “What did I do now?”
“I think we should divorce.”
He froze and looked up to meet your gaze. “What?”
“There’s no use putting off the inevitable.”
“No,” he muttered. “We’ve been going to counseling.”
“And we haven’t been making any progress.”
“(Name). (Name).”
He staggered over to where you sat and got down on his knees.
“We’ve just been going through a rough patch. We’ve always been able to get out of those.”
Your throat began to close up as your eyes watered. “I know Suguru. But it’s become too much for any of us to deal with.”
“No,” he begged, taking your hands in his. “No. We can still make this work.”
You shut your eyes and shook your head. “The girls know Suguru. They heard us.”
He released your hands from his and slowly stood up. The gravity of the situation finally sinking in for the both of you.
“We can’t stay married if it’s just going to make us miserable. Neither of us deserve that. The girls don’t deserve that.”
It kills you to say these things. To force yourself to give up like this. You hadn’t given up on anything. Med school. Your internship. Your children. The faith you held in your husband.
How hadn’t you given up when it was harder? When you had less money. Less options?
“You’re right,” Suguru croaked, choking over his words. “We can’t…keep forcing ourselves to pretend we still love each other.”
He didn’t say that out of cruelty or bitterness, only harsh acceptance.
It was over.
~
(3 years later)
“Nanako,” you called from the front door. “Hurry up.”
“I’m coming!” she called from the other room. “I can’t find my Tiffany charm bracelet.”
“Did you check your vanity?”
After a brief pause she yelled. “Found it!”
“Mom?” Mimiko asked. “Can we stop for coffee on the way?”
“Only if we leave now.”
Nanako came sprinting down the hallway and made a beeline past you.
“Hurry. Vanilla lattes with cinnamon are at stake!”
~
After the separation you and Suguru worked out a civil custody arrangement. You didn’t want to deal with lawyers, so it was decided that the twins would remain with you during the week and spend weekends with their father.
You remained in the penthouse while he had moved to a place downtown. As time went on your daughters had settled into the arrangement and you found yourselves in a familiar rhythm.
~
“There you guys are,” Suguru remarked as he opened the door.
“Hey Dad,” Nanako greeted, handing him a coffee cup.
“Black with a splash of cream.”
“Thank you.”
He took the cup from her. “Put your stuff away. We need to get going.”
Once the twins filed inside he leaned in to kiss your cheek, with you following suit. “So what are you doing tonight after your interview?”
“We’ll probably just get dinner nearby. What about you?”
“I had plans to meet up with Yuki for drinks, but something happened with Choso’s brother so we took a raincheck.”
“You can come with us if you want,” he offered.
The twins reappeared at the door.
“Yeah mom. Come with us,” Nanako insisted.
“Thank you for the offer but I’m really looking forward to a quiet night at home.”
You hugged your daughters and said your goodbyes.
~
Shimizu packed the last of her things into her briefcase and turned off her desk light. She walked over to her associate's office and knocked on the open door.
“I’m headed home for the night,” she informed him.
Hiromi looked up from the pile of documents he was hunched over.
“Good work today.”
She turned to leave only to stop in her tracks.
“Okay,” she sighed. “Look, I promised I wouldn’t say anything.”
“Here we go,” he mumbled under his breath.
Shimizu marched into Hiromi’s office and set her briefcase down.
“I’m seriously worried about you.”
“I think you should be more worried about our clients,” he stoically retorted.
“I’m serious. There’s a workaholic and then there’s you. When’s the last time you had a proper meal?”
“Because I have so much free time to cook,” he retorted.
“Or been out on a date,” she softly added.
He groaned and slumped back in his chair. “Is this another long winded set up?”
“I have this friend.”
“I don’t like setups.”
“She’s an architect, she’s attractive, she can cook.”
“Shimizu. I’m not a cave man. I don’t need to be taken care of.”
“No, you need to take care of yourself. By eating right and having a life outside of this office.”
“Have you ever considered life coaching as a viable career option? Because it’s not too late for a change,” he sarcastically countered.
Shimizu snatched her briefcase off her desk in defeat.
“Fine. Fine. You’ll never hear anything about it from me again.”
“Do you promise?”
“Yes. I promise. I promise to not lift a finger to help you when you can’t get out of that chair because your back finally broke from sitting in it too long. I promise when you die to have a picture of the chair engraved on your tombstone. I promise,” she huffed.
After a moment Hiromi raised his brows. “Done?”
Shimizu nodded. “Yeah. See you tomorrow.”
“I’ll be here.”
~
Takaba Fumihiko was the host of one of the highest rated comedy late night shows on the air. And despite Suguru’s hatred of interviews he knew his agent would kill him if he didn’t use the platform to promote his new film.
So he swallowed his contempt and agreed to the guest spot.
The only thing comforting him in front of the blinding stage lights was his daughters in the front row. Mimiko gave him a small wave which he subtly returned as the production assistant started counting down.
“Alright everyone. Cameras are rolling. 3, 2, 1.”
He pointed at Takaba and with a nod he started.
“Welcome back everyone. I’m joined here by the incredibly talented Suguru Geto. Award winning actor, producer, and overall stud.”
The audience chuckled. “And I hear there’s talk of a potential Oscar nomination in your future.”
Suguru skillfully maneuvered around the speculation. “Well I wouldn’t know about that.”
“If you're nominated will you be taking someone special to the ceremony?”
“I don’t think so.”
“What about your co-star Manami Suda? There’s been a few sighting of the two of you together in public.”
“No, she’s just a friend. That’s all.”
Takaba turned to the audience and made air quotes. “Just a friend folks.”
The crowd laughed again with a couple of hoots from the rafters.
Nanako rolled her eyes and turned to her sister.
“Comedian,” she quietly mimicked, air quotes included.
Mimiko playfully shushed her, resisting the urge to laugh.
“Anyway,” Takaba continued. “Let’s talk about this new film you star in.”
~
You had only realized when you got home your house was devoid of any type of food. So you ordered Thai and flipped through the channels trying to find something to watch. You coincidentally landed on Suguru’s interview.
“Well folks we’re just about out of time here. I want to thank Suguru for making the time to join me in the studio and for sharing his beauty with us mere mortals. Everytime I see you, you get more handsome. I hate you.”
The audience laughed and hooted a final time for him. Despite his clear distaste for the situation your ex flashed a smile and gave the people exactly what they wanted.
“The new film is out in theaters, Suguru Geto everybody.”
The band played them out and the screen faded to black. You were all of a sudden increasingly aware of how quiet the penthouse was. Before you could get down on yourself your phone buzzed.
You checked the caller id and answered it. “Hey Yuki.”
“Hey (Name) I just wanted to apologize again for canceling.”
“Don’t worry about it. What’s up?”
“The doctor just came back with the x-rays. It looks like a fractured wrist.”
“That’s terrible. How’s Yuji?”
“Surprisingly fine for a dumbass that skateboarded off a roof.”
“It was worth it,” Yuji called out in the background.
“And Choso?”
“Incredibly stressed thanks to his stupid brother. He tried to steal a pillow from another patient because it looked softer.”
“I didn’t steal it. I asked for it,” you heard Choso argue.
“Well it sounds like you have your hands full.”
“We saw Suguru’s interview on the tv in the waiting room. I hate that he hasn’t gone bald yet.”
You chuckled. “I caught the end of it.”
“Oh no. You’re home alone.”
“So?”
“No! I feel awful. We were supposed to spend the night luring men in with your feminine wiles.”
“Excuse me? I agreed to drinks. Not to picking up depressed divorcees.”
“You are a depressed divorcee.”
“I am not depressed. I promise. It’s just a night at home. I’m hardly a hermit.”
“What about Shoko and Utahime?”
“Both working late tonight.”
“Kusakabe?”
“That would make me depressed. Look, seriously, I’m fine Yuki.”
“I still hate him,” she muttered.
“Well I don’t, honestly. We’re in a pretty good place, all things considered. It’s been three years already. You don’t have to hate him for me.”
“Fine. I’ll try to stop imagining him in pain.”
“Thank you.”
Your phone beeped with another incoming call.
“I’ve got to go. That’s my food on the other line.”
“Okay. And drinks next week for sure.”
You smiled.
“Sounds good.”
You hung up and picked up the other call.
“Hello?”
~
“So how bad was I up there?” Suguru asked from across the table.
He’d taken the twins out to a nearby ramen shop.
“You were great Dad,” Mimiko commended.
“What did your agent say?” Nanako asked.
“She said I wasn’t terrible. Which is good enough for the producers.”
“When do you leave for New York again?” Mimiko asked.
“The end of the month. Then I can do the late night schtick all over again.”
Nanako batted her lashes. “And we still get to go right?”
“Of course. We’re going to the Met for Mimiko and Tiffany’s for you.
“Can I get new earrings to go with my charm bracelet?” Nanako squealed.
“Whatever you want, angel.”
“Thanks for taking us,” Mimiko chimed.
“You two deserve it with how hard you’ve been working in school.”
He had attended both his daughter's parent teacher conferences with you a few weeks prior, and was met with positive feedback both academically and socially. After the divorce he worried that the two of them would fall behind and withdraw, but they both seemed happy. And that was all that mattered to him.
After the waiter delivered their food Nanako inquired about something.
“Dad? You know how Takaba asked about Manami earlier? You aren’t actually dating right?”
“Of course not. Some paparazzi took a picture of us reading lines at a cafe. That’s it.”
She smiled and nodded in relief. “Okay.”
~
Hiromi made his final note on the last document in the pile on his desk.
With a sigh he dropped his pen and leaned back in his chair.
He was exhausted.
Maybe Shimizu had a point, but he was tired of hearing about it.
From her, Takagi, his parents.
He knew he needed to slow down, but something in him always nagged. He’d been like that ever since he was a child, not being able to rest until everything was done. And as defense attorney things were never done.
Maybe if someone waved a wand and made all the crime in Tokyo disappear he’d be able to have a life. Use the kitchen he’s never cooked in, sleep past 5:30, and maybe even see someone.
Yes, he despised setups but it was embarrassing how long it had been since he’d been out with someone. His schedule wouldn’t permit a relationship and while he’d never say it out loud he needed more than his right hand at three in the morning.
Hiromi shook his head and stood up.
He was spiraling and he wouldn’t allow that. He’d just keep doing what he was doing.
~
The restaurant called to inform you your order would take another two hours to be delivered with how backed up they were, given it was a Friday night.
You couldn’t wait another two hours for food, your stomach felt as empty as Capone's vaults.
So you opted to walk the six blocks to the restaurant and pick up your order yourself.
On the way home you remembered Nanako saying she wanted more hershey kisses for the candy bowl on the coffee table, the kind with white creme.
Since you were out you popped into the convenience store to retrieve a small bag. You greeted the cashier and retreated to the candy aisle. Once you found the kisses you turned to leave, accidentally slamming into someone.
~
Hiromi stared at the contents of his shopping basket. A cup of noodles, a pack of razor blades, and an RC Cola.
He didn’t even know they still sold RC Cola.
Maybe they didn’t and he was about to end up in the ER getting his stomach pumped, but he was too exhausted to care. He just wanted to pay for his stuff and leave. He scooted down the aisle, abruptly halting when he saw a box of fig newtons and picking it up.
He couldn’t remember the last time he had a cookie.
Hiromi failed to notice you hunched down retrieving the candy, and you hadn’t heard him approach. So you accidentally walked into him, causing him to drop the box in his hand.
~
You looked up to meet the eyes of the stranger you bumped into, the box they held now laying at your feet.
“I’m so sorry.”
You cursed yourself for being such a klutz. Of course this would happen to you today.
He shook his head and picked them up. “It’s fine.”
“Are they alright?” you asked. “Not broken?”
He turned the box over. “It wouldn’t matter. They expired a month ago.”
You chuckled despite yourself. “But I really am sorry. I should have watched where I was going.”
He placed the cookies back on the shelf. “Consider it forgotten.”
You glanced down at the contents of his basket. “I didn’t even know they still sold RC Cola.”
“If the cookies are anything to go off of they probably don’t.”
You gave him a friendly smile. “Well I should be going. Good night.”
You walked towards the cashier with your candy.
Hiromi felt something unfamiliar tug at his chest. Something that urged him to walk up to you and ask you who you were. But he did no such thing.
He just thought about it.
He thought about it after you left the store and when he laid in his bed later that night.
Your pretty face and kind smile.
You contemplated turning around when you exited the store and introducing yourself to the handsome stranger you had bumped into. But you decided against it, after getting cold feet, and just walked home.
~
You and Shoko managed to get away for lunch at a small cafe not too far from the hospital, your usual spot. You took the opportunity to fill her in on the mystery man from the convenience store.
“Why didn’t you ask him out?” Ieiri asked.
You set your coffee down with a sigh. “I couldn’t have done that.”
“Because,” she prodded.
“I don’t even know if he was interested.”
“You’re pathetic,” she mumbled.
“Excuse me?” you gasped.
“(Name) it’s been three years since your divorce. Suguru’s been dating. So why can’t you? Just something casual.”
“Because Ieiri. I’m not interested in dating,” you painfully admitted. “I want a relationship. I don’t want something casual.”
You kissed your teeth at your confession. “God I’m pathetic.”
“No,” Ieiri assured you, reaching out across the table to take your hand. “You’re not.”
“I’m just…so scared of starting over again.”
The subject was dropped and the two of you resumed eating.
~
Shimizu practically had to drag Hiromi to Takagi’s cafe.
“We still have a ton of work to do,” he argued.
“Well we have to eat.”
So the two of them walked inside and sat down. Takagi gave them a wave and headed over.
Despite being a lawyer she had to run this business to live comfortably. The field of law the three of them were in was far from lucrative. Hiromi’s cramped apartment was reflective of that.
He glanced around and froze in surprise.
It was you.
The woman from the convenience store.
Here.
Shimizu noticed her associate staring at something.
She followed his train of vision and spotted you. “Do you know her?”
He quickly peeled his eyes off of you, not wanting to appear like a stalker.
“No,” he smoothly delivered.
Takagi approached them with their usual orders. Black coffee for Hiromi and a vanilla latte for Shimizu.
“What’s going on?” she asked.
“Hiromi’s ogling that woman,” Shimizu informed her.
“I wasn’t ogling anyone.”
“Who?” Takagi asked.
“No one,” Hiromi enunciated.
“Wait. The one with the birthmark or the other one?”
He sighed. “The other one okay?” I met her in the convenience store a few days ago and I recognized her.”
Shimizu smirked.
“Why do you have that goofy look on your face?”
“I don’t have a look.”
Takagi took the spare seat next to Hiromi and filled in Shimizu. “That’s (Name)(l/n). She’s a surgeon at the hospital down the street.”
Takagi was the kind of business owner that took the time to get to know her regulars. It made for good gossip after hours.
Shimizu leaned forward. “How have we never seen her before?”
“They usually come in earlier and get their stuff to go. I guess she must not be as busy today.”
“So is she…involved?” Shimizu prodded.
“Shimizu,” Hiromi warned.
“Well listen to this,” Takagi interjected. “She’s divorced. You know Suguru Geto?”
Shimizu held back a scream. “The movie star? That’s his ex?”
“They split three years ago.”
Shimizu turned to her associate. “Hiromi, Suguru Geto’s this big actor-”
“I know,” he interjected. “I’ve been to the movies. I don’t live under a rock.”
“It’s all so perfect. You have to ask her out.”
“What? How do you figure that?”
“She’s gorgeous, smart, and you were definitely ogling her earlier.”
“You should Hiromi,” Takagi encouraged. “What’s the worst that can happen?”
“Are you kidding me? Her ex is on the cover of every magazine and last night for dinner I had an expired can of RC Cola.”
“They still make RC Cola?” Takagi asked.
“C’mon Hiromi,” Shimizu insisted. “You have to admit she’s attractive.”
“Well yeah but-”
“And it’s been a long time since you’ve dated anyone,” Takagi chimed in.
Hiromi looked back at you. You were undeniably as beautiful in the daylight as you were in the dull hue of the convenience store. He turned back to Takagi and Shimizu, both with hopeful expressions.
~
After retrieving something from the bar, Takagi approached your table.
“How was everything ladies?”
“Delicious as usual Takagi,” you commended. “Before we leave, can I get two pieces of the chocolate cake to go? The girls will kill me if I don’t bring something home for them.”
“Of course.”
She placed a coffee cup in front of you.
Ieiri furrowed her brow in confusion. “I don’t think we ordered that Takagi.”
“Actually,” she explained. “This is compliments of the gentleman sitting over there.”
She gestured to the corner of the room and you looked over to find none other than the handsome stranger from the convenience store.
You gasped in surprise. “That’s the guy I was telling you about.”
Your friend just smirked. “He seems pretty interested to me (Name).
She looked over to Takagi who resisted the urge to share a thumbs up with Shimizu.
“I’ll take care of the bill. The cake too.”
Ieiri reached out to pat your hand. “I’ve got to head back to the hospital.”
“Ieiri-,” you started.
“Call me later.”
~
Hiromi was going to throw up.
You were coming towards him, with the coffee cup he paid for. Most likely to throw it in his face.
You probably thought he was a stalker or some asshole that felt entitled to your time because he bought you coffee.
But you didn’t look mad.
You looked nervous, slightly more than he did.
“Hello stranger,” you greeted with a smile.
He let out something between a cough and a laugh. “I’m not sure if you remember me but-”
You nodded. “I remember you…”
“Hiromi,” he quickly filled you in. “Hiromi Higuruma.”
“I’m (f/n)(l/n).”
Shimizu cleared her throat.
“And this is Shimizu, my legal associate.”
You shook her hand. “Lovely to meet you.”
“Likewise.”
She retracted her hand and collected her purse.
“I’m just going to slip into the powder room, excuse me.”
After she left you pointed to the empty chair.
“May I?”
“Please,” he insisted.
You sat down and gave him a warm smile. “I’m sorry about this. Takagi pointed you out and-”
“It’s fine,” you assured him. “I just can’t believe what a coincidence this all is.”
“I got you a latte with cinnamon. I hope that’s okay.”
“That’s perfect. So you’re a lawyer?”
He nodded. “Public defender. And Takagi told me you’re a surgeon.”
“I am, a neurosurgeon more specifically.”
“So you’d like to be referred to as Dr. (l/n)?”
You shook your head. “(Name) is perfectly fine.”
In better lighting you could more easily admire his handsome features, sunken eyes and prominent nose. He was certainly attractive.
“So,” he continued. “I hope I’m not being too forward. But I- I was wondering if maybe-”
“Hiromi,” you interjected. “Would you like to get dinner sometime?”
He looked as surprised as you felt. Why did you say that? You were attracted to him. Maybe this was the push you needed to dive into the dating pool.
He quickly recovered and nodded.
“Yes, I’d love to. But please don’t feel pressured.”
“It’ll be fun. Unless you feel pressured.
“Definitely not.”
“After all I could be a serial killer luring you into my trap.”
He smirked. “Well my job makes me pretty good at detecting those.”
You plucked a business card out of your purse.
“Call me, Mr. Higuruma.”
“Hiromi,” he said. “Just Hiromi.”
“Hiromi.”

???: Hey, fam! I'm home!
Tumblr media
???: Jenny! Hi, sweetness. How are you?
Jennifer: I'm good, mom. How are you? Where's Dad and Dennis?
Rainbow: I'm alright. They'll probably come down once they smell the food. Want to help me in the kitchen?
Jennifer: Yeah, sure.
Tumblr media
Rainbow: So, what time is your friend coming over?
Jennifer: Pretty soon. He's coming straight from work.
Rainbow: Ah okay. Dennis spoke pretty highly of him.
Jennifer: Yeah, they seemed to hit it off at Halloween. Hopefully, you and Dad do too.
Rainbow: Hopefully, he's as great as ya'll say. Help me stir those veggies will you?
Tumblr media
Jennifer: I think you will think so. He's got a good job, comes from a good family, plus he's really funny and thoughtful.
Rainbow: And where'd you meet him?
Jennifer: Remember when I was volunteering at the homeless shelter last summer? He was volunteering there, as well.
Rainbow: Okay, that's a good sign. 'Cause I have read some other things that-
Tumblr media
???: Smells good in here! Must be a dynamic duo in the kitchen!
Jennifer: Hi, Dad!
Dennis Sr: Hi, baby girl. How are you?
Jennifer: I'm good. How are you?
Tumblr media
Dennis Sr.: Well, I hear there's a boy coming over so I could be better.
Jennifer: Dad. He's great, I promise. You're going to love him.
Dennis Sr.: I hope so. Can't just let anyone snatch up my Baby Girl.
Jennifer: These are examples of things you all shouldn't say when my boyfriend is here.
DJ: Good luck, these two run away all my ladies.
Tumblr media
Jennifer laughs: Hi, Dj.
Rainbow: And what ladies are these? The ones you have plastered all over your bedroom wall? Bring a real girl over here and then we'll talk.
DJ: Dang, mom. You stay cramping my style.
Jennifer chuckles: I'm sure the ladies love DJ.
Doorbell rings
The Browns in Unison: Come in!
Tumblr media
Gianni: Hello, Brown family!
Jennifer: Hi, Gianni. You're just in time for dinner. You already know DJ, this is my mom, Rainbow, and my dad, Dennis.
Dennis Sr.: Hi there!
Rainbow: Welcome, Gianni.
Jennifer: Here. I'll take your coat. Have a seat.
Tumblr media
Gianni: This food tastes amazing! You did a great job, J, Mrs. B.
Jennifer: Thanks, Gianni. I'm glad you like it.
Rainbow: Thank you. I'm guessing you don't have home cooking a lot with your parents away.
Gianni: Yeah, my mom wasn't much of a cook, but I can't complain. Always ate good.
Tumblr media
Dennis Sr. laughs: I'm sure you did! I can't imagine food cooked by Royal chefs is all that bad!
Gianni chuckles: Yeah, it's alright.
Rainbow: And what about your dad's side? You know before he... went to jail.
DJ: Someone's been doing their homework...
Jennifer: Mom...
Tumblr media
Rainbow: What? I'm just trying to get to know him. Isn't that what we're here for?
Gianni: It's okay! Really. I'm an open book.
Rainbow: Good. Because I read this article. Let me pull it up. Ah "New Flavor of the Week: Gianni Spotted with 5th Girl this Month." I'd love for you to be open about that.
Tumblr media
Jennifer: Please excuse my mother. You don't have to answer these questions if you don't want to. You know I don't care about that kind of stuff.
Gianni: No, I don't want anyone to have any doubt about me. Yes, I used to... date around. You know, young, single, wealthy guy in Del Sol.
Rainbow: And what about now? Is Jennifer the new flavor of the week?
Tumblr media
Gianni: No. Jennifer isn't a flavor. She's more like an enhancer. She makes everything better, including me. She's more than what I need or deserve. I'm really lucky to have her.
Jennifer: Aw, thanks, Gianni.
Rainbow: Mhmmm. Good answer.
Tumblr media
DJ: That was smooth, man. I'm taking notes.
Rainbow: Maybe you should be taking notes, so you can finally bring home one of these ladies you keep talking about!
Laughter
DJ laughs: Why you keep coming for me, Ma?
Tumblr media
Jennifer: Don't worry! We know your time is coming, DJ! But it might help if you left this house.
Dennis Sr.: House? Try his room!
Laughter
DJ: Alright, I'm eating upstairs.
Tumblr media
Dennis Sr.: Well, it looks like you survived the interrogation portion of the evening, son. Now we've moved on to the roasting portion. You still interested in being involved with this family?
Gianni: Well... I imagine I can't take a roast to seriously from a family who still has their Halloween decorations up for some reason? It's nearly Spring!
Laughter
Jennifer: And they are so tacky, too!
DJ: The tackiest!
Rainbow: Tell that to that big hat you're wearing at the dinner table!
Laughter
