also on a fully unrelated note to the rest of my blog my favorite thing about the qsmp is quackity realizing just how unique the phenomenon he created is every two weeks. the eggs were just some cute almost pets to take care of, until everyone got emotionally attached and now the players would commit crimes against humanity for their minecraft children. bringing creators from all over the world together resulted on some unlikely friendships that never would have happened otherwise, think roier and cellbit, philza and forever, charlie and mariana, jaiden and roier, and so many more. and if the cinema night proves anything, it's that the fanbase is immensely creative, making everything from hilarious memes to an amazing 10-minute moving comic diving deeper into a character's lore with quality worthy of professional animation. like... godspeed you lil Mexican streamer, good on you for accidentally creating one of the coolest things I have seen on Twitch in recent years

if i'm honest, the mcyt fandom has the biggest case of 'except for the acceptable target' syndrome. they'll make posts about 'handling cringe' but make it clear the acceptable cringe is not dsmp fans or dream fans. they'll talk about growth and nuance and change but it's never applied to the people they hate. bullying is wrong, of course, unless you're 'driving out' the dream fans.

there is always an exception to any of these statements, there's always someone who you're allowed to treat poorly and i really hope one day the fandom can move away from that and be kinder.

I think someones said it before but I feel like if tommy actually met dream irl, he never would have turned on him. He even referred to dream as more genuine when he saw his face and didn't find the 'i love you guys' cringe anymore, but instead charming.

Ahh, so this touches on something I think is very important that is how easy it is to be nasty online versus in person. Because I think a lot of stuff people say wouldn’t be able to say to people’s face, to see how hurt the person is. Saying things through texts or social media is easy because you don’t have to face the same consequences you do in real life. You can call someone terrible things and don’t have to see how it makes them cry of hear their response.

Many of the falling outs with my friends have happened over text, and I genuinely think the reason why is that it’s a lot easier for them to be terrible. I truly believe that they would never have said what they did if we were in person. Because then they would have seen how hurt I was. But sending a text or posting something, it’s too easy to submit and put your phone away and think nothing of it.

That’s not to say bullying doesn’t happen irl or that people can’t be hurtful in person, but I feel like cyber bullying is a whole new level as the anonymity and lack of consequences that come from it, lack of guilt. So often we forget that there is a real like person behind what pretty or silly profile pic there is, with feelings and emotions and pain. It’s easy to forget. Just like it’s easy to feel like 30 notes or likes isn’t a lot on a post, because we forget what 30 people looks like in the real world. Sure online it looks small, but man in real, 30 people listening to what I have to say and liking it, is a lot of people. And it’s so cool to see even more, seeing 100 something likes on my essay about autism really makes me so happy, because hopefully that’s 100 people I helped feel less alone :)…

Anyways, to bring it back to disc duo, I think I’ll are very right. I think that the outcome would be different have they met in person. How different, remains to be seen, but it is interesting that British crowd tend to like George. Sure we could say because he’s British, but I think an argument could be made, that because they’ve spent time in person. It’s easier to see him as a person. Perhaps we could attribute Dream’s facelessness as another factor of the internet’s constant loathing, as they struggle to see him as a person. I think there is a very fair argument to made there. Kinda aligns with the dsmp, doesn’t it? It’s easy to hate whose pov you cannot seen, who you cannot see. It’s easy to forget that the green man running around is human…

Though I think this does depend on how genuine Tommy really was in their friendship, whether we go with the theory that he’s been using Dream the whole time or that it was real. And how much Dream’s autism and ADHD behavior pushed people away. But I do think you make a good point. Though Quackity met Dream in person so… who knows. It would have been interesting to see if the outcome would have been the same.

This all started as a joke talking about THANOS Muffin and sorta escalated/derailed into just sorta assigning OSC characters as a whole to the DSMP characters.

My gc and I had no real idea what we were doing, and this is honestly just for shits and giggles, lol. Everyone was assigned on dynamics and vibes instead of being logical. PLEASE DON'T BULLY ME FOR MY SPELLING, IT WAS SUPER LATE AT NIGHT WHEN I DID THIS.

The culprits: @always-just-down-the-street and @friiskuz (the main two), @mambari, and @glitchtypes

(Also keep in mind that I have never watched a full stream of the DSMP, I only watched certain content creators outside of the server. I barely had any say in this so don't blame me if you don't like iiiiitttt.)

Specifics under the cut:

Firey from BFDI is Tommyinnit. This was decided because of his main characterness, him being one of the most important characters in OSC history, and his mildly chaotic nature.

Leafy from BFDI is Tubbo. This was decided because of Firey being Tommy. Also, because I find the ship between Tubbo and Ranboo cute and this universe's equivalents really funny to pair up.

Taco from II is Wilbur Soot. This was decided because of the betrayal stuff, the violence and manipulation, and because we thought it would be fun.

Top Hat from TNM is Ranboo. This was decided because of vibes, trauma maybe(?), and some other stuff that my friend said. Also, something about hallucinating probably and just being in a general sense of not okayness.

Muffin from THANOS is BadBoyHalo. This was decided because this is litterally BBH. He is literally based on BBH clips from his videos cropped together to make a character. He started this whole thing.

"Blood" Diamond (although their built like Aquamarine) from BFDI (ABCDEFG) is Skeppy. This was decided because Skeppy's skin is literally a diamond. They're a "blood diamond" because of the egg arc, and they are probably a brother instead of sister since that short isn't really canon to anything. They're a blank slate, we can do what we want.

Oodle from AIB is Slimecicle. This was decided because of his omnipotent god powers (immortality) and just being a silly goofy guy in general. We considered Goo for a bit, but Goo's a little too young to have been around since the dawn of the server. Maybe before becoming Oodle he was Goo? Idk.

X from BFB is GerogeNotFound. This was decided because of who we made Dream XD. That's really it (they might have also had some weird romantic stuff happening in the stream before???).

Four from BFB is Dream XD. This was decided because of the revival aspect of Four's power and also their scary and overall powerful nature. The rainbows are because of Infinity being a rainbow in canon.

Okay, so- *wheezes*

Tommyinnit, who was on the DSMP, on a podcast said he didn't like interacting with a (separate) content creator and said that when he was younger (sixteen) he wrote in his diary to never anger Dream because it wasn't worth it.

Another content creator called Tommyinnit fans cringe, which Tommyinnit responded something about that content creator being a Trump Supporter.

Out of nowhere, Dream posted an image where he called Tommy's entire fan base the r slur. He got rightfully called out for it, and started to crash out where he made a three hour stream where he put his little Minecraft avatar in a detective outfit, called himself detective Dream, and started hurling accusations around and doing everything besides address the r slur.

Tubbo, who was on the DSMP, talked about it and in the middle of talking about it Tommy dropped a five minute video essentially saying he blocked Dream, doesn't like Dream or his friends, and encouraged Dream to put the phone down and go to therapy.

Dream made a response video. Tubbo made a video about that video and invited Dream to talk about it, so now they are in an ongoing livestream at the moment about it where Dream is being a dumbass and Tubbo has more patience than a saint.

The cherry on top is all the content creators who were on the DSMP or have interacted with Dream in any capacity are in Tubbo's chat including Dream's closest friend Sapnap.

Obviously, there is a lot more to this (including decades long feuds and DSMP drama and other content creator drama) but that is about the short version as I can give you.

i get why people assume the dsmp is like the height of degeneracy in the mcyt community considering it was a server created by some fucking infamous people, and i'm not here to tell you that they’re secretly good or some shit. i actually think criticism of certain CCs from mcyt and dsmp anti communities too gentle, if i'm fully honest- no one brings up dream's misogyny despite it being absolutely omnipresent, nor do they bring up his creepy behaviour towards minors on camera- sometimes they bring up the “16 is legal in the uk” clip, but that’s not even the worst thing he said To Tommy On Camera (that'd be making a rape joke about Tubbo’s thirteen year old sister and then poorly denying it by saying he could have been implying Anything when the joke literally was that bc she spawned in the bed of an adult server member he’d need to have a Talk with them, which literally makes no sense in any other context bc it’s a normal minecraft gameplay mechanic) let alone what he’s admitted to Off Camera (namely, making Tommy tell him he loved him or he'd destroy things his friend made, and then getting pissy when Tommy very understandably made jabs at how close to grooming it is, despite it being predatory behaviour regardless if it was for a laugh or not, and something thatd get him fired at best if he made those “jokes” towards an underage colleague in literally any other profession), no one brings up that sapnap signed up to kick, a website run by white supremacists that has been exposed Multiple Times for hosting sexual abuse material the staff cheered on, no one brings up how Multiple young streamers who were friends with Wilbur said he was extremely manipulative and downright cruel to younger streamers off camera or even, y’know, the fact he's been accused of physical abuse by multiple women, not just Shubble. y'all are too kind to them, that’s my hot take.

The DSMP bashing is one of the many reasons I don’t want to get into the QSMP. It’s fandom will not stop hating on it in order to hype QSMP up, I’m honestly worried the QSMP fandom will go downhill at some point because it’s desperately trying to pretend the QSMP is the perfect rp server and nothing like that icky cringe Dream SMP

I see so many people on there say they “escaped” the dsmp fandom and can’t look back on their old work. That’s just so so sad to me, that former fans can’t say they loved it too and maybe even still love it

I definately get that feeling, and I can see how it could easily result in the brushing off of any critisim of the QSMP, no matter how genuine or deserving it may be because of those people. The QSMP is it's own thing. It doesn't deserve to be ragged on for not comparing to the DSMP in a negative way, or the backhanded way people might complement it in order to put down the DSMP. The QSMP is not DSMP 2, it is a minecraft server with its own independent lore and characters and it's story doesn't appeal to everyone, including me. Those are all takes that can co-exist. Thankfully people on tumblr seem to get that for the most part. Just remember, you don't need to force yourself to 'move on' from the DSMP fandom. It doesn't have an expiration date, and you can enjoy BOTH in fact. In all fairness to the DSMP, it was never intended to be a lore server, but it became that anyways, and I find it beautiful in a way. Take care. <3

I’m posting the art i made for my retired (incomplete) fic AHTFF, since most people agreed that i should post it. it’s a 70k+ 22 ch fic centered on SBI/Fantasy/Found Family, Timeline hopping, and sort of post-exile. One of my biggest fears is looking back at myself and seeing how embarrassing/helpless I am.

In my past, I’ve been…. Quite the figure. I used to be in the DSMP fandom (a terrifying string of words to say in 2025) and looking back now after the whole dream controversy is popping up again makes me even more scared of back then. I… made a lot of really weird jokes, especially being the age I was. Even now with my art, as I’ve gotten more and more open to sharing it it’s like, well what if it’s just cringe? What if I look back at myself now and say “Oh shit. Oh shit fish, you were embarrassing as hell. Never look back, like you did the DSMP.” But like, I’ve strived an entire online persona based around my fixations, and I don’t see it as embarrassing *right now*. Hell- I never want to see them as embarrassing. Silver’s been my comfort character for like 2 years- I don’t ever want to stop being a silver fan. But I’m just scared it’s gonna happen and I judge myself for it. Scared of my future.

sorry. My head is in a really weird spot today. My midterms are coming up and I’m stressed out about those, I had a disagreement with a friend that I still feel bad about, my alternating family lives are taking a toll on me and i’ve been having religious struggles. Maybe I should take an internet break that isn’t the every other week thing. Might get to drawing some MD or Portal Silver’s idk. Anyways. Um. Yep. 👍
