Saw the AC 141 fanart you reblogged then immediately think about that animal crossing crack theory post here somewhere about humans being in extinction so the animals are keeping you safe in the island, and they're entertaining you with human enrichment activities they think you might enjoy. They might be misguided at times (the loan stuff), but they mean well. And that also explains why they cheer when you move their houses around bcs they think it'll keep you happy. Also, multiplayer is when they arrange a play date with other surviving human(s). T'was the greatest thing I've read this week.

So yeah, imagine COD AC shenanigans where you're the human, and 141 are your island inhabitants who never ask to leave the island.

"Moved my bloody house again," mutters Ghost one afternoon, sulking on a beach chair beside Price as they (ostensibly) fish.

"Mm," hums the lion. "Mine last week. Better get used to it."

"Was by the river," the bear continues to lament. "Could hear the water while I was sleepin.'"

Gaz trundles up to join them, setting his box of fishing tackle down. "Sorry mate. Just saw this morning. River's filled in where you were."

Ghost sighs, very long and very loud, and slumps back in his chair. He longs for a beer, but Price had insisted on no alcohol on the island. It made humans screwy and weird, and increased their mortality ratings exponentially.

"I'm sure it ain't for no reason," Price murmurs. The line twitches, but nothing actually bites.

"Last I saw the human was burying a bag of money," says Gaz, extending his own fishing pole. "Not sure there's much of a reason for anything they do."

A low whir, gradually increasing in volume, interrupts the quiet of the day; the sea plane lands by the pier, and Wilbur hops out, followed by an extremely familiar horse.

"No," Ghost moans, "not that bloody numpty, please."

Soap catches sight of the group, brays excitedly, and runs down the beach.

"Fancy seein' you lads here!" he exclaims gleefully. "Heard there's room for me here from your human!" Gaz, the only one really excited to see him, throws him a high five.

"I want to leave," mourns Ghost.

Price snorts. "Good luck with that."

Because he should be wearing a NORMAL TIE. not a BOWTIE. It would:

Add to his businessman persona

Give a place for that wifi symbol to go that isn't awkward

Be a good opposing design to Alastor's bowtie

Potentially give the idea he's moved away (or attempting to) from Alastor. Especially if they had it that Vox USED to wear a bowtie.

Also, we joke about it but seriously, why does everyone have a bowtie when it doesn't make sense for some characters like Husk--

is this because i actually try to mimic his canon hair instead of giving him an entirely new hairstyle? possibly. but that doesn't change the fact that edd's hair is tough to draw.

that big swoop of hair is the ANCHOR for drawing edd's hair. and that's what I start with. ...after the head and face, that is.

but my main piece of advice is, unfortunately yes, REPETITION!!

JUST DRAW HIM A GAZILLION TIMES!!

i'll admit i probably have a bit of an advantage having drawn edd off and on for over a decade, but sketching The Guys in a bunch of random positions and angles and such, just filling sketchbooks upon sketchbooks, that's the best way to improve. well at drawing in general but also the characters youre currently hyperfixating on.

and of course you can always put your own spin on it. i mean, look at my tom's hair in comparison to canon. or matt (mine is a lot fluffier). or tord (MULLET!!!). do what you want forever <3

I’ve recently been obsessed with ‘Annie’s Song’ by John Denver and I think it’s so fitting for them 🩷

When I tell you I agonized over this until I couldn’t look at it anymore… I was learning as I went (I haven’t attempted digital art on my tablet in years- I mostly just drew original characters for fics and shared them with people on Discord bc I always felt my art was too amateur to post- but I’ve hit a stride of ‘let things be bad’ and ‘progress is progress’.)

I hit a stalling point with the layers and the methods I was coloring things and I definitely know some techniques now that would have made it better from the start, but to fix it would be to start over- and that seemed exhausting- so here it is! I feel like you can literally see where I found a weird brush and went ‘what does this do’? 😅

I did that thing with this where I had this extremely ambitious idea and no practical experience to execute it (I do this with sewing projects and home improvement stuff ALL THE TIME) and instead of simplifying it or being realistic I just forge stubbornly ahead 🫡

But the biggest thing I learned is that I actually do enjoy this- so I will continue to be bad at it for the sake of having a good time drawing silly characters to sappy song lyrics 🤩
