This one is for Grappling With Things Beyond Your Control by @sibillascribbles08
Donnie losing control of his powers, ooOOooo~~
havent drawn a cover in a long time, was hard to think of a way to represent the story without spoiling it kjfdhg
Also my kindle (idk if all are like this) is black and white, so ofc i went with b&w, also its newspaper-like so it doesnt get bright whites, and I noticed if the contrasts are shitty then.. it looks shitty. Great practice lmao

As the flash hits your eye, you feel something crashing into you from all directions. Below you is obvious, Bonbon situated themself to bump into you while the picture was taken. You look to your right, and Mirabelle’s cheek is pressed up to yours. On your left, Isabeau’s sheepishly hugged you to his side. There’s a hand in your hair, too, and it feels like Madame Odile. [...] “We need a souvenir of this trip,” Mirabelle adds. She rushes to the ground to pick up the picture and snort-laughs as she looks at it. “Oh no, Siffrin looks like we’re holding him hostage!” — Curtain Call, Chapter 9, by @openphrase123 (Link in the replies)
2024 October 22nd
Fanfic fanart fanfic fanart!! When I read the "hostage" line, it invoked such a clear image in my head of Siffrin tensed up like a startled prey animal that it got added to my list of things to maybe draw immediately.
Dooon't think about the words 'left' and 'right' in that quote too hard. I know how to read I prommy. :) (I did Not process those words and lost the coin flip in the composition phase...)
Close-up and ramblings about the cans of worms I unleashed upon myself under the cut
Time taken on this was [head in hands] 48 hours and 37 minutes.... That bloated number has two culprits:
1) I got a new tablet! My old one was 10 years old. Its plastic was melting and the electronics had ghosts in 'em, so it needed the sweet release of retirement. However, I had just gotten to the line art phase when the switch happened. Clumsily getting used to the new one during the most precise phase of the process did devastating things to my perfectionism.
2) I made a GRAVE mistake with how I chose to color this. I wanted to keep the grayscale layers for accuracy instead of just slapping a B&W filter over the colored version, so all the colors come from gradient maps, color balance layers, overlay layers, and raster layers clipped to other layers. Listen. I'm used to working with lots of layers. I like keeping things separate so I can edit them more easily. But this is the worst layer system I have ever created. Going from color to B&W requires toggling exactly 20 layers & folders on or off. There are 87 visible layers total. This file lags when you edit it. I've never wanted CSP v1.13 to have layer comps more in my life.
Not helping matters was Isabeau. I said he was the easiest to draw in my last post, but he took that as a challenge, apparently. It's a simple fist-on-hip pose, why was that so hard!?! His face gave me grief too.
Odile's lil' wave got added at the end of the line art phase. I've never added to a sketch that late in the game before, but I felt bad about how little screen area she got, haha. Girl, I tried, but this composition was not kind to you.
Giving Isa, Odile, and Siffrin skin colors felt cursed. Well... "color" is maybe a stretch for Sif. The pallor from being affection-jumpscared isn't helping. In the dev's nose reveal post, they said that Siffrin isn't white but is white-passing, so BOOM albinism headcanon. Like c'mon, they wear a big hat and have most of their skin covered because the sun is a deadly laser when you have little to no melanin and idk if sunblock exists in-universe. Heck, maybe most Islanders have it, their whole religion is about the night sky so maybe they're nocturnal. This makes perfect sense. :)

I decided not to create fan art or post about Good Omens (Tv Show) anymore.
This fandom was a great support for a long time for me and the book is still one of my favourites from the time I started reading compulsively everything from Sir Terry Pratchett, but I'm so pissed with the fandom right now.
The fact that the recent allegations against Neil Gaiman (I was a big fan of his work until I discovered that like every white cismen of his era with a bit of fame he is a piece of shit and think he can do what he wants to women) was barely covered is a thing and yes, it's pissing me off too.
But the fact that so many people in the fandom try to find excuses or justification for his action and don't participate to spread the information or just say nothing about it thinking you can be "neutral" is pissing me way more.
I don't judge people who want to separate his work from him or those who consider that a fandom, at the end, is more the propriety of the fans than the artist, I'm totally agreeing with the last one and I think they are ways to consume the work of problematic authors without giving them platform and money if you really cannot do without it.
BUT, and my big point is here, the issue I have with GO fandom right now it's that a big fandom like this has the possibility to spread the information and awareness pretty easily and right now people continue to post their fan art or fanfic without any infos about the allegations like nothing happened, that's bad! And don't start me with those who are more focused on if the last season will be released or not. It shouldn't be, not with him as screenwriter and executive producer at least and with a lot of money sent to SA associations and transparency about the situation.
It's giving him the possibility to keep the whole thing discret and make people forget about it. It's giving him the opportunity to have kind of a come back at some point, even a small discret one, and give him access to more women in the future who might not know what he did and what kind of man he is.
I don't say that people need to speak about it on every post, but at least, please :
- stop tagging Neil Gaiman in your fandom works (Good Omens, Sandman, ...fan art, fanfiction).
- stop posting, blazing, or reposting quotes from him, or giving him a platform by showing off his work.
- don't buy first hand or loan at the library his books or comics. Why the local library too ? When more people ask for a book at the library, they buy more copies, and in most of the countries, writers receive something when people loan ebooks at the library, even physical books sometimes.
If you really cannot live without merch products from your favourite fandom, then by all means buy those who are not licenced on etsy or other platforms by small artists. I usually don't recommend that, though I prefer not to buy merch at all if the original creator of the license can not be rewarded, and here it's a bad thing if he is.
- and speak about it. If you post fanfiction, post a disclaimer about the allegation at some point on every fanctiction you post, adding at least the two links of the two principles podcasts. Same when you post fanart on whatever platform it is.
That's all I have to say for now, I think.

Finally, I Can Maintag This After Nine Months
Hello everyone! This post is about my very long (80k) Empires S1 fanfiction, (i'll tend to the flame, you can worship the) ashes.
Ashes has been nine months in the making, and the last chapter was just posted today. It is twice as long as my previous longest published work and I made a lot of it up as I went.
The premise is this: The Rapture was three months ago, and Gem and Fwhip are on their way out of the world. They land for the night on the edge of the desert, and stumble upon a certain emperor, who's been missing for eight years and long presumed dead. Which is great! They found him! But... he's strangely quiet.
More details and a general FAQ for the fic under the cut.
Why does this fic have the Graphic Depictions of Violence warning and the Author Chose Not to Use Archive Warnings ratings applied at the same time? What does that mean?
I explain my full reasoning in a post here, but basically, I wanted to let people know that there was violence while also implying that there were also some other things that needed to be handled carefully that aren't necessarily covered by an Archive warning.
Ashes has the Canon Compliant tag attached, but this is a scenario that I've never seen in canon before.
This is correct. When I started writing this, my tag for this fic was #ashes au because I was pretty sure that I was going against canon with some of the details I was including. I added that tag later after realizing that even though some of the specific details didn't line up, it counted to me. (The tag stuck because I've linked it everywhere by now and don't want to change it.)
As for the post-canon status of this work, Ashes was mainly started because I felt like Pixl's ESMP s1 POV (which ended early because he got busy with another project; this happens to everyone and i do not hold it against him) deserved to be finished and so I set out to write it. Pix later said in an Empires S2 livestream and then in his s2 finale that every interpretation of what happened to the Copper King was correct, so I just went with it.
If I wanted to make fanart or fanfiction of this fanfic, could I do that?
There is a section for that on the website I made for Ashes! (I learnt HTML at 12am for this. I couldn't sleep.) Any questions you have that aren't answered by that, send me a message or an ask and I'll be happy to answer.
#ray's tag#mcyt#empires smp#empires smp s1#pixlriffs#geminitay#fwhip#esmp s1#fanfiction#writing#lets fucking GO baby#ashes au#if you find this interesting and decide to check it out and you like it- please reblog this post! i put a lot of effort into writing this

RRR Fandom Boost Bingo
Hello lovelies!
Like I recently said, I’ve been in this fandom for 7 months and they have been an absolute blast. But because I’ve been around so long, I have noticed that we have had a few friends fade away, even as we welcome so many new ones.
I have also noticed that we are not responding or commenting as much as we used to back then, and hey, I get it. Real life is a LOT.
I came across this challenge initially proposed by @thehighfiveproject, aimed at boosting fandom interaction. They did such a great job, and I was very impressed with their challenge, so I just tweaked it a little to suit our little fandom a bit more. But major credit for the idea/the bingo square prompts and descriptions goes to them only. Here is the link to the original card that I adapted!
I am a firm believer that fandoms live and die by how much people interact with each other, and are assured they’re not shouting into an empty void. So I thought this challenge would be a low-key game we could share to shower the fanwork creators with more love.
That being said, what are the things you need to know?
- No sign-ups, if you want to play, just download a copy of the image and play along
- For each task that you accomplish, “cover” that space like in Bingo (I use MS Paint to place a shape over the square)
- The challenge runs from February 1st to February 15th, two whole weeks to spread the love!
- You can fill one square, or all of them. If you do fill all 9 tasks, then I will write something for you (min 300 words, no NSFW; I can’t guarantee a turn around time, but will definitely answer all of them)
So what do each of the tasks consist of?
- ‘leave kudos/likes on 3 fanworks’
This is the easiest one! Just go out and find 3 fanworks you like and leave a kudos or a like on it. It’s a small gesture but it makes a creator know that someone actually interacted with their work.
- ‘reblog an art post’
Find any art post you like and share it! Here’s the catch: you need to interact with it a little. When you reblog/retweet, please tell the creator what you thought about the piece – you can add some tags, or reply to the post, or quote-retweet or add a comment, or anything! A simple “I love this!” is nice but some details are even better (“your linework is so good!” or “that shade of blue is perfect”).
- ‘message a fandom creator’
‘Creator’ here can mean anyone who makes *anything* to do with fandom: art, edits, fic, meta, hoodies or dolls – if they’ve made anything, they’re a creator, and now’s your chance to let them know they’re appreciated. Send a message letting them know that you enjoyed their work!
- ‘reblog an edit/meta post’
Same as the above, but for edits/meta posts! Edits can include a gif set, or a set of screencaps, or even a fanvid. And, again, some simple tags/replies are needed. “I love that song choice!” for a vid or “great coloring!” on a gifset can let people know their work is being appreciated.
Otherwise, reblog a meta post. Meta posts are those three sentence headcanons to an essay-length dissection of why Character X is the absolute best character. It’s even better if you respond to the meta, whether that’s agreeing or (respectfully!) adding your own thoughts, but sharing it is the main thing here.
- ‘reblog a fic post’
Same as the above, but for fic! Again, tags/replies/comments are needed, preferably with a little detail. You don’t need to be super eloquent or leave a detailed review (although if you have time/energy, that would be appreciated!); a tag as simple as “that was really cute” or “great characterization!” will do.
- ‘comment on a fanfic/ comment on a fanart’
Find a fic and a fanart, and leave a comment. That’s it! Again, no need to leave a novel-length comment (unless you’re inspired!) – a sentence or two is all we’re asking for this square to be considered complete. This is a great opportunity to let a writer know how their piece made you feel, or what section you particularly liked.
- ‘make a rec post’
This is a chance to tell your fandom friends about something they need to see. You can rec a fic, an artist, an author – any kind of fandom thing that you want to make sure people see. This doesn’t have to be long or complicated, but feel free to go into as much detail as you want! Just make your own post on Tumblr and give that thing you loved a little fanfare.
- And lastly, this one is optional, but I think it would be cute. ‘RRR Fandom Appreciation’. Just make a post and say in a few words something you really enjoy about this fandom in particular. Be it hyping up the friends you’ve made, or any aspect of the fandom you want to share your love for.
Ultimately the challenge’s main purpose is to get people talking to each other.
Hope you give it a try!
Love,

Hello Luka! I’m contemplating making a toyhouse and a wondering what the experience? community?? is like over there. The only “art hosting” sites I have previous experience with is DeviantArt and Instagram. I’d like to post my art again, and don’t really want to do it here on tumblr. The organization feature on toyhouse has appeal (being able to organize fan art vs MaDD art is nice!) but I’m not sure if that’s what toyhouse is really for? There seems to be a heavy focus on art/trades and adopts. Is that the predominate activity/expectation on the site? Is it mainly OC centered, or is fandom related content welcomed too?
I ADORE Toyhouse! I check the site almost daily lol. Lemme break this ask down for ya:
Community
There are forums you can engage with/talk in. idk how those are bc ... I don't talk to people but!! the vibe seems generally nice & most of it is encouraging one to talk about their OCs. idk I didn't join to socialize lmao.
Trades & Adopts
It's a big feature of the site, for sure. I wouldn't say trading is the expectation, though. I've come across loads of people who just wanna share their OCs, me included. There's even multiple different ways to clarify if your characters are up for trade or not!
RP is another draw I think, there's a lot of forum threads looking for RP partners. So it's not like people are ONLY here to switch around OCs lol. I would not have joined if that was the vibe tbh.
Fandom v. OC
Toyhouse's Rules/TOS actually cover this! Short answer, no, it's just for OCs. Technically. Fan OCs & Canon Inspired OCs are allowed, but even so you gotta be careful with Canon Inspired characters:
We allow canon-inspired characters specifically where it's clear they're an original character who has been inspired by the canon content, rather than AU fanart and fanfic of a canon character. As long as your character has their own name, and a profile/design that reflects they're intended to be individual from the canon character and are not literally the canon character, they should be fine to upload. Adding some background to the character's profile to explain who they are will help a lot to ensure they don't get mixed up.
But like. between u & me. I don't think they look super closely unless someone reports the character. so even if ur SUPER worried about that, there's the option of making the character private.
Other
I will warn you, toyhouse is invite-only, and getting a code to make an account is. unreasonably hard. especially for how long the site has been in "beta" but I digress. the ability to generate codes is only for premium members, otherwise I would've offered the entire madd community one.
OH!!! there's also the coding. it's not required by any means, but you can edit the code of your profile & OC's bio! there's a lot of cool/fancy templates to pick.
I have a lot of fun on there, though. It's like, the closest I've gotten to making a "paracosm wiki" that I'm actually satisfied with.
#toyhouse#luka answers#player: blue bubonic#tldr uuhhh it's mainly for ocs?? hosting ur ocs like their info n art??#i think i covered everything but yknow. shoot another ask if i didn't or ya got more questions <3

Hades’ week!
For the next seven days, we will be using this blog as a celebration of Patrick Page’s Hades. There will be 8 days of prompts. (Why is there an 8th day of prompts in a Hades-week? Because the King commands lol.)
You can create new fanworks of any stripe or reblog old ones you’ve created with #hadesweek, and I will reblog it onto this blog. All fanworks are welcome. We are open to anything and everything as long as its related to the character of Hades in Hadestown. Covers? Sure. Interpretive Dance? Go for it. Art? Sure. Gif edits? Course. Translations of songs into other languages? Sexy. Fanfic? Cromulent. Fanart? Very nice. Cosplay? Sounds nice. Reblogs of previous work are also welcome. This week is meant to just be a celebration of Hades art and fic and meta and whatever else for a week.
Prompts:
January 9. The King on the Chromium Throne (Hades’ outfits and accessories; a focus on character design)
January 10. Think of It as My Desire for You (Hades and Persephone’s relationship in focus; it has its highs, it has its lows, but its always clear)
January 11. Hey Little Songbird (Hades relationship with Eurydice, in any/all meanings of the word)
January 12. He Said He’d Harbor Us/He Said He’d Shelter Me (Hades’ relationship with the workers/the chorus)
January 13. Orpheus, the Undersigned (Hades’ relationship with Orpheus; a foil, a priest, and a poet all in one)
January 14. The Electric City (Hades’ relationship with his eponymous Hadestown)
January 15. Word to the Wise (act 2 focus + her worship among the Workers/Hermes/Orpheus and Eurydice)
20th. A Love Song (a coda, a bonus day to bring us back to where the show begins, in a garden)
If you use one of the prompts, tag it with the prompt (e.g, for the 13th, tag #the king on the chromium throne) and I will add it under the prompt’s hashtag on this blog as well. But if you do not want to go off the prompts, just add #hadesweek and I will add it to the reblogs without adding any prompts to it.
What kind of content can I add?
Sugar, spice, and anything nice – as long as its Hades-related. Seriously, anything. Meta about what you like about Hades is appreciated; thank you posts for Patrick or welcome (back) posts for Tom are great; fanfic is lovely, fanart too. Interpretive dance or covers or gif-sets or videos or just your favorite show memories about Patrick? Great. Wanna post a crossover between the Green Goblin and Hadestown? Sure. All fan works are welcome. It’s an Patrick Page love fest. By Patrick fans, for Patrick fans.
Reblogs and original content are both allowed!
See below for a FAQ:
I wrote something a year ago that fits a prompt - can I reblog it for this?
Yes! As long as it’s Hades focused AND the reblog is something you yourself created (eg don’t reblog someone else’s art with #hadesweek or something; like Hades, I will only reblog what others choose to offer freely), go nuts! If you want to use this as a challenge to make some new art or fic or meta or whatnot, that is very cool and I would love to see it. But realistically, with just a weeks notice, not everyone will have time to make new works, and honestly tumblr moves so fast there’s lots of good stuff we haven’t seen for a bit that I’d love to have reblogged here. If you would like it featured too, please add #hadesweek to a reblog.
….I have Hades content that doesn’t fit the prompts tho. Can I post or reblog that for Hades week?
Yes. This is all about creations that feature Hades. The prompts are just ideas to get started, but they are optional. If you don’t like them, don’t use them. Just reblog #hadesweek and it goes up here on this blog for posterity.
How many times are you going to post/reblog things? WIll you add stuff for a prompt even after that day is over?
I reblog as much as I can, as fast as I can. I’ll check the tag for a month for new works but will post it after if you can make sure I see it. Make sure that you have your blog visible to be searched and that you’ve filled in the tag right: #hadesweek . If I miss yours for some reason assume user error on my part and send me a msg; I’ll add it.
What if I have fanfic or fanart that’s about Hades, but it’s not entirely Patrick’s version? Are transgender/non-binary/alternate gender or design Sephs that are inspired by Patrick in some small way welcome?
Yes. All Hades are good Hades. All Hades make me press the reblog button.I’m not going to judge how much your Hades is Patrick and how much it’s anyone else.
Does it have to be Broadway version of Hades?
No. Patrick has been Hades from NYTW on and we respect all her work. NYTW, Edmonton, London, and Broadway works are all welcome.
I have Hades content but it also has Persephone/Orpheus/Eurydice/The Fates/Hermes/The Workers/A Lamp/An Original Character - is it allowed?
Yes! Hades is a flavor that is delicious both as a sole ingredient and in a group composition. We accept every Hades relationship and every Hades gen combo and Hades solo works, too. All Hades with some Patrick inspiration are welcome. All versions of Hades with Hades’ friends, family, and lovers are welcome, too.
Can I follow this blog? Do I have to follow to participate?
You can follow if you want to, but its optional. To participate all you need to do is tag something you post on tumblr.com with #hadesweek.
Do I have to add content warnings/are you going to add content warnings?
No, though common sense ones like NSFW are appreciated to help people curate their experiences. I will reblog content warnings if they are there. I will only add tags to aid in blog organization otherwise: e.g. identifying if it fits a prompt, who the characters in the picture are, etc.
Who runs this?
@acequeenking right now.
Why are you planning this for a week after Patrick left?
Because Patrick left around the holidays, and I figured this way we would have more time to appreciate it!

The Journey's Just Begun (Chapter 1: Epilogue and a Prelude)
Intro: It's here! Yay! My first multi chapter fic! This chapter is based on this piece of fanart by my all time favorite Alchemy Bros artist Cinn-a-mum! So this fanfic I'm writing to give the Alchemy Bros Role Play a more solid ending. It kinda left on a cliffhanger, so I'm hoping to wrap up some loose ends with this! And it's got cute Momma Ulla and Hugo moments too! I hope you guys have fun with this and let's see where it goes. Enjoy! (P.S. This isn't Varigo! This is a Sibling AU of Vat7k. Also called Alchemy Bros! So please don't tag as Varigo! Thank you so much peeps!🫶) EDIT: I fixed some typos! EDIT EDIT: I added a cover!
Chapter 2 ➡️
Summary: Ulla takes her first steps out of the library and is reunited an old acquaintance. Hugo! But will they remember each other?
Trigger Warnings: None!
Ulla gathered the few possessions she had and stuffed them in an old bag. Her son Varian had come and she was finally leaving the library! She was excited to say the least! She slung the bag over her shoulder and ran up to Varian, who was waiting patiently for her nearby.
"I got my things! Let's go!" She exclaimed! She grabbed Varian's hand and pulled him toward where the porthole was.
"Woah! Wait up mom!" Varian laughed.
Ulla stopped in front of the porthole and stared up at it. She could smell the flower scented breeze wafting through. Suddenly she felt a strange sense of joy and nervous butterflies. It had been so long. Will everything be okay? Would Quirin still feel the same about her? What if the world was so different, that she wouldn't know how to cope? "Are you okay mom?" asked Varian. He knew how hard things had been. He wanted to know if she was alright and ready to go through with it. Ulla took one last look at the dusty library that had been her home for eighteen years. Maybe on the outside of this place, things would be different. Maybe they would be scary. But if she did nothing, then none of the good scenarios could happen either. It was time to go. Ulla took a deep breath.
"Yes."
Varian smiled and took her hands in his. Slowly but surely, they walked through the port hole.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Hugo, Jacky, and Belle were waiting patiently outside the porthole in the chamber. There was an air of nervousness about them. Until Varian and Ulla came out of the library, there was no way to know if their mission was a success. Belle had taken to quietly sharpening her sword. And Jacky was playing with Cheese and Ruddigar. He rolled a marble he had found across the floor for Cheese to fetch. And Ruddigar was sprawling on his lap enjoying back scratches. Hugo was easily the most nervous. After all, anyone would be nervous about their little brother going through a strange magic porthole. Belle noticed the worry written on Hugo's face and paused her sword sharpening.
"Nervous?" she asked.
"Yeah." he said.
"Me too."
"You think he's okay?" Hugo asked.
"Sure! Probably..." said Belle.
"I wonder what Varian's Mom is like?" said Jacky as he rolled a marble across the floor. Cheese took off after it. He caught the marble and brought it back to Jacky.
"I don't know much, but it sounds like she's a lot like Varian." answered Hugo.
"Sooooo, dorky and energetic?" said Belle. Hugo laughed. "I guess." he said.
Suddenly the porthole lit up! Hugo and the rest quickly got to their feet. Varian came through first. Then Ulla. She was being guided by his hands. "It's okay. There you go." said Varian as he helped through. Ulla set her feet down in the chamber floor. "You guys are okay!" said Hugo excitedly! He ran up to Varian and embraced him tightly. Ulla still had her eyes closed. She was just a bit scared of what she'd see. What if it really was all just another dream and she'd see that she was all alone again? Varian walked over to her and gently took her hands.
"Mom. You can open your eyes. It okay."
Slowly she opened them. She saw she was really outside! Finally! After all this time! Her jaw dropped as she looked around. She half laughed half sobbed at the sight of a familiar space. She was truly free. Quickly, she hugged Varian tight as tears streamed down her cheeks. She never wanted to let go of him again. "Wow." thought Hugo. "She really does look like Varian." Hugo couldn't help but feel there was something familiar about her. Her face was one that he felt he'd seen before. Like a deeply hidden memory he couldn't quite reach. Suddenly Ulla realized that there were more people there. Young people like Varian. "Varian, who are these people?" she asked.
Varian suddenly remembered his friends. "Huh? Oh yeah!" He broke away from the hug and pulled her toward his companions. "Mom, this is Belle, Jacky, and Hugo. Everyone, this is my mom!" A round of hellos was said by the group. Jacky ran up to Ulla and shook her hand vigorously.
"Ah man! It's an honor to meet you mam'm! Varian helped us all out our journey! Your son is awesome!"
"Thank you." Ulla chuckled. She liked this one's enthusiasm.
"So," said Belle, "How does it feel to finally be free?"
"Really good, but I'm a little nervous." said Ulla with nervous laugh. Suddenly she noticed the boy Varian called Hugo standing off to the side. He seemed a bit quiet and he was looking down at the floor. Hugo had been trying to figure out what he wanted to say. It was Varian's mother after all. He wanted to make a good impression. Ulla felt there was something familiar about him. It was his eyes. They were so green and beautiful. The most beautiful she'd seen. She was sure she had seen them somewhere before. She smiled and walked over to him. "Hi." She said. Hugo looked up at her. "Oh, hi!" he said.
"Oh man! I have to tell you about Hugo!" said Varian as he walked up to them. "He's been by my side the whole journey. He's like my big brother! Really we're all like siblings! We just found each other along the way and became a family! And Hugo's was always watching out for us! Even when we got sick or hurt! He was basically like everyone's big brother!"
"Really?" said Ulla as she looked over at Hugo. Hugo rubbed his arm shyly. "Well, I did my best." he said.
"And I'm very thankful. Thank you for taking care of my boy and his companions. I owe you."
Hugo blushed and looked down with a smile. He wasn't used to this much genuine praise. Ulla looked him over closely. She laid her finger against the side of her cheek in thought. "You know, I can't help but think I've seen you some where before." Hugo was surprised.
"Me too." he said.
"Hmmm. Okay, I'm gonna ask you a really weird question, but please just humor me." said Ulla. "Do you be any chance come from Bayangor?" Everyone gasped! Hugo looked at her astonished.
"Yes!" he said. "But how did you know?!"
Ulla's eyes widened. "Ohmygosh! Okay, am gonna ask another weird question! Did you come from an old orphanage there on Ivycross Street?" Hugo's jaw dropped. "YES!" he said even more shocked than before!
"I knew it!" said Ulla excitedly! "I saved you when you were little and brought you there!" Hugo stared at her in utter disbelief. "I remembered that I gave you this nick name! I called you Little Human! And I remember how badly I wanted to bring you with me! Do you really remember me?"
"Y-Yes." said Hugo, trying not break into tears. He wasn't going to lie. He was having a hard time trying not to cry. The person that actually cared enough to stop and save him from dying in the streets was standing right in front of him. And it was Varian's Mom! His own best friend's mother! It was almost to much for him to take or understand. Ulla noticed he was clearly in shock. She smiled at him lovingly and she gently cupped Hugo's face in her hands.
"Shhh. It's okay. You're alright." she said softly.
Her touch felt so gentle. And motherly. It wasn't like anything Hugo had ever experienced. Certainly not with Donella. "Look at you. All grown up like Varian." said Ulla. "Who's a Little Human now, huh?" Finally the dam burst and tears came flowing from Hugo's eyes. Ulla pressed her forehead against his. "I knew you special." she said. Hugo flung his arms around her crying and he crumbled to his knees. Ulla went down with him and continued hugging him. She rubbed his back gently. Hugo felt so safe and loved in her embrace. He never wanted to let go. Varian watched in stunned silence. A grin spread across his face. He quickly joined the hug.
"Group hug!" yelled Jacky excitedly! And he dragged Belle into the hug with him! Even Ruddigar and Cheese joined. Everyone seemed to be laughing and crying at the same time. They stayed there for a good long while. It felt so good to know they would never have to feel alone again.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
At the base of the mountain which houses the Demanitus Chamber, a small trap door opened and Varian poked his head out. He climbed out into the open air. Ruddigar was sitting on his shoulder. Varian squinted in the bright sunlight. It felt warm and comforting after being in such a drafty cold room. "Come on guys!" he said as he waved for the rest to come outside.
Hugo and Belle were next. Belle let out a sigh of relief. "Whew! Thank goodness to be out of the dark room!" she said.
"Wait for me guys!" shouted Jacky as he clambered out to join his friends.
"WOO HOO!" Yelled Ulla as she tore out of the chamber and into the sunlight! She completely ran past the kids, plopped down on the cool grass, and stared up at the sky. "Clouds! Wind! Sky! It's paradise! I am BACK baby!" she exclaimed! The kids laughed. Her enthusiasm, while valid, was quite amusing. They sat down next to her and looked out over the land. It was a beautiful view. Varian thought he could see Old Corona from there. Ulla took a deep breath of the fresh air, taking it all in. She put her arm around Varian and pulled him close. Varian instinctively nestled against her. He glanced at Hugo. He had bit of a solemn expression. His gaze seemed to be directed toward the road leading away from Corona.
"Hey mom? I'll be right back." Varian got up and sat down next to Hugo. Somehow, Varian knew what he was thinking. Ruddigar seemed to as well. He laid down next to Hugo. Hugo scratched the critter behind the ears absent-mindedly.
"You don't have to leave you know." said Varian. "You can stay with me."
Hugo looked at him. "Really?"
"Of course!"
"What about your parents?"
"You really think my mom doesn't want you around? She loves you." said Varian as he gave Hugo a playful nudge in the shoulder. "She's practically OUR mom!"
"And your dad?"
"He'll love you."
Hugo hugged his knees unsurely. "I don't know." he said quietly.
"What's going on boys?" said Ulla as she walked up to them.
"Mom? Can Hugo stay with us?" asked Varian.
"Well, if his parents don't mind." Ulla said with a smile.
"I... actually don't have any." said Hugo.
"You don't?" said Ulla in surprise.
"Um. No."
Ulla sat down in front of Hugo. "Don't you have an family or a guardian? Surely you've been adopted by now?"
"No. I'm still an orphan. I mean I did get kinda adopted... But that didn't go well." He subconsciously rubbed one of the scars on his wrist. "But yeah, I don't have a home to go back to."
"Oh well we can't have that! You're coming home with me and Varian!" said Ulla as she took his hands in hers. "Me and my husband will take good care of you."
"You... Really want to do that?" asked Hugo.
"Definitely! Your coming home with us honey!"
"But what about Belle and Jacky?" he asked. "I can't leave them alone."
"We're not going anywhere." said Belle as she and Jacky walked over.
"Yeah dude! We're gonna find places to stay in Corona!" said Jacky. "We won't be far."
"So what do you say Hugo?" said Varian. Everyone looked to Hugo for his answer. Hugo was a bit taken aback. Everything was happening so fast! Ulla noticed the boy was feeling a bit overwhelmed. She thought about how nervous she felt when she was leaving the library. He must feel similar. She rubbed his hands comfortingly.
"It's okay to feel nervous about heading into a new situation." she said. "Especially if the last one was scary. If anyone knows about that, it's me." Hugo smiled a little. "And maybe even though you know the new situation is safe, you still feel scared because it also feels unfamiliar." Hugo nodded. "But I promise you will be okay." She continued. "We all got you. Okay?" Hugo looked into her eyes. Maybe things really would be okay. It couldn't possibly be like his life in Bayangor. Nothing could be that bad. And his friends would be there too. He took a deep breath and decided to take the leap.
"Okay. I'll go." he said.
"Yes!" exclaimed Varian happily! Varian tackled Hugo in a hug! "Easy Varian!" laughed Hugo. "You're crushing my ribs!'
"Aw man! This is great!" said Jacky as he jumped to his feet! "We're all gonna be together and we'll never have to worry about crazy mad scientist ladies ever again!"
"Mad scientist ladies? What mad scientist ladies?" questioned Ulla.
"AH! Nothing!" said Varian while Hugo frantically motioned for Jacky to be quiet. Varian sighed. "We'll tell you later."
"Yeah. Later." Hugo mumbled.
"Come on." said Varian as the group stood up. "Let's go home."
"Yes! I can't wait to see Quirin again!" Ulla exclaimed. "So kids, tell me about your adventures. I want to hear everything!" The kids each took turns telling exciting moments from their adventures as they began down the base of the mountain, toward home. It may have been the end of their adventure, but their journey's just begun.

omg this is me trying not to pick every single option for the fanfic writer ask thing. like good lord i would love to know ALL OF THAT.
I’ll narrow it down tho :)
4, 11, 17, 23, 27, 40, 56
if that’s still too many, feel free to just pick your fav one!!
I got ‘em all!!
Where do you find inspiration for new ideas?
Ruined Ambitions is largely drawn from my own experiences, other people’s experiences, and shameless wish fulfillment. But then for longer pieces like Judecca and an upcoming fic it’s some part of the culture that I live in (Bible Belt) and wanting to be a moderately pretentious contrarian about it. Also occasionally prompts, but I have a very long list of those to choose from.
Link your three favorite fics right now
Poured Out Like Water
this one is insanely underrated!!
sickly sweet
a certified @jittyjames banger my history says I’ve read it dozens of times 😳
no talk of god
devastating don’t let the cover art fool you. It’s a perfect prequel to the uk arena tour and the characterization is so good.
What do you do when writing becomes difficult? (maybe a lack of inspiration or writers block)
Depends on the block. If I’m just completely stuck, and hate everything I’ve ever written then just trying to push ahead is pretty useless. Those are all signs that I haven’t been taking physical care of myself and I need to get back on track before there’s any point in adding stress from writing goals.
But if that’s not the problem I play video game music! It’s perfect since it’s designed to keep you focused on whatever you’re doing. If I can push myself past about ten minutes without switching to a different tab, that usually breaks the block enough for a oneshot.
Best writing advice for other writers?
It’s cliche but perfect is the enemy of good. So find the point where it’s good enough and then let it be. Also if you really hate the scene you’re writing you should probably change the scene.
What is your most and least favorite part of writing?
Honestly it’s when I get a comment or bookmark from someone who connected with what I wrote. A lot of the stuff I post comes from very personal and vulnerable places and it’s nice to not be alone there.
Least favorite is when I’m stressed out for other reasons I get absolutely convinced that everything I’ve written is terrible and embarrassing. Like it’s a great outlet but thanks for the new vulnerability I guess 🤨
If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?
Literally so many. If I had the skills I would probably be doing illustrations for every chapter and every oneshot. Top three would be Judas being healed in Judecca, the date in Not Just Any Man, and literally any moment from What’s That In The Bread?
What’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on?
Okay so just being able to write gay stuff at all is very significant so I am very proud of that. When I was a kid/teen i would go out of my way to make it clear that my characters were Definitely Not Gay because that would be Wrong. Stylistically I also think that my stuff is fun to read and I love hiding easter eggs and literary references.

Okay, if anyone's interested in it, I tell you my 3 months experience on Wattpad (and anyway also on AO3...)
So I was a very active fanfic writer from 2007-2018, then I just stopped writing. (Even myself don't really know the reason why. Neverending existential crisis? :D)
I just decided to get together my shit and I made another account on AO3 (which is not the eaion @ ao3, obviously, I use that ancient one for reading and commenting and have fun - so far at least). I'm still uploading my old stories (because there are a lot and also not every day have the mood for archiving, but I'm now at the year of 2011, so "only" 7 years of works are still waiting to post there. :))
At the same time, I've made a Wattpad account (yes, I'm well aware that Wattpad isn't popular in my circle :)), and actually I also don't really like it much. Still don't. :D I uploaded there only two of my longest novels (anyway these are Stereks - Teen Wolf, but it really doesn't matter) My main reason besides being lazy, was that I didn't want to make fancy cover for all of my short stories, etc., blah, blah.
Okay, so conclusion: People don't really reads fanfictions in my language anymore (maybe I really should write something in English finally, and I have so many ideas, just still don't have the courage. :')) Wattpad is for more of the original stories, as I experienced, but anyway, I still got readers, and two of them were willing to even comment, though I used to get much more comment on that fic (on other sites, when it was new). It was really a pain updating both of the novels, because, I got zero readers, until I posted like the 10th chapter. :'D I decided like 100 times, that I would stop updating - because nobody read it seemingly - it was very discouraging (it's an euphemism, lol - actually it was very, very annoying...) Then my only one reader ;D commented on my last chapter - they were really kind, and told that they were so afraid that I wouldn't finished the fic, because there on Wattpad, most fics are unfinished. (Actually they were right, I see a shitton of unfinished fics, but... I almost told my reader that: "maybe if the readers mercy the writers with some comments or votes in the process? (Votes are little stars and are like "kudos" on AO3, but you can give a vote an every chapter.) Because, I, personally almost deleted or stopped updating my fucking fic, because literally felt like dropping it to the void?! Okay, whatever. I'm glad I have that one commenter, that actually read through the story, and have some other people who "bookmarked" (add to some fricking reading list), though still don't have any votes or comments on my second novel (today I uploaded the last chapter), so... :/ I guess, I stop using Wattpad, it's not worth it. I found a few stories that were readable (at least don't have godawful spelling and grammar), but most of the stories are not for me, because they are hetero Mary Sue stories. The other problem, that there are seemingly many interesting(looking) original lgbt stories, but most (!) of them are behind a paywall, so you couldn't read them without having a paid premium account. :/ Anyway, yeah, it's hard to find stories, because it's very algorithmic, but if you are a registered user, you can search (one worded) tags (I added many tags to my stories), so you can find something relevant to your interests, but it's not that easy, and again: most fanfictions are not very well written or abandoned; and many, many original stories are behind a paywall. What I liked most on that site were the bookcovers, I made myself, too - for my little gay novels. ^^ I used Unsplash, not stealing fanarts, which unfortunately many writers do there... :(
So, I don't know. Wattpad not that horrible as I was told, but definitely not good. :) I recommend it actually rather for youngers, who wants to try themself and actually if you have many friends (classmates), TikTok followers, etc., you can marketize your fics, so you can gain more readers. That's the only way to not only having a few readers.
Okay, then, good old AO3.
I have some kudos, but I got comments only to my few original works, so it cemented my experience (and prejudice, okay, lol :P) that people in my country don't like reading fanfictions anymore. :( (It's sad btw.) You can say: "okay, but your first 100 livejournal fics you've already uploaded were like 15 years old and had their audience in the past, back then". It's true, but... I visited an other fanfiction site, which is in my language and examined the recently uploaded stories - it's heartbreaking to see that... they got mostly zero comments. Good, quality stories from good writers. I don't know anyway, is this an international phenomenon: people read less fanfictions nowadays or what?
Okay then, I have a surprise comment anyway (I got this type of comment in the past, too), that someone asking me to translate my fic to English, because she would like to read it! Actually, it's so heartwarming to read something like that! ^_^ ♡ I wish my English would be better. :(
And now I recently got a comment to one of my fanfictions, so maybe the spell (nobody comments on my native language fanfictions) are broken. :)
(I still don't decide that I should upload my fics to ffnet, too. I uploaded only one there, like 15 years ago. :D)
Okay, guys, I just would like to ask your experience or opinion. :) I heard everywhere that Wattpad is not so good, etc., mostly because you can't really search there by tags or fandoms and it seems true; I could hardly find there anything specific that I would like to find. But...
It seems to me that there is life. I mean in my native language, you can hardly find any readers, there is an awesome fanfic and original fiction site in my language, it's pretty old, more than 20 years and great, but - it seems to me that nobody reads anything there. There are a very few interactions with the fanfics. And it seems the same on AO3. Writers in my language upload incredible and really high quality fics, many long ones, but they hardly gets even a few kudos, not to mention comments. It's really demoralizing and sad.
I'm not that young and Wattpad always seemed to me being a site that only teenagers use, that's why I feel myself being clumsy to use it, but if there are so many enthusiastic readers and living community even in my little mother tongue, then I guess I should give it a try. :)
Honestly, I always heard mostly negative opinions about Wattpad, that's why I was always discouraged to use it. But I would like to read some more-open minded opinions or opinions from people who use it frequently and like it. Is it really good and maybe you can help how I can find more easily stories that I want to read? :) (Or maybe uploading my old stories if I were really brave. :D)

hey! I'm relatively new here :3 just wanted to say that I just got back into the kotlc fandom and I'm obsessed with the wings au- it's one of the first not-xreader fanfics I've genuinely enjoyed and gotten so invested in. I love the qpr-ish relationships between the characters and the way you wrote them all! the wing designs are just- *chef's kiss* and the story line behind it too- I could go on all day about it. You've honestly inspired me to try writing my own aus! I was wondering if I could post fanart of the designs? I'd be sure to credit+tag you ofc
You're such an amazing writer!
Oh my gosh this ask is so sweet I legitimately read it and straight up stopped what I was doing for a solid 20 seconds to smile at my phone. I'm sitting here like !!!!! and covering my face
Also welcome to/back to the fandom! It's fairly small overall and relatively stagnant at the moment (the two year gap between books has really changed things), but there's a solid handful of us who are here and refuse to let go :)
I'm absolutely thrilled that you love the dynamics between the characters because I think that was one of the things I was the most...not nervous, but unsure about? Not that I didn't want to do it, because I very much did, but it's generally a different dynamic than a lot of the other fics in the fandom. All the ship fics are wonderful, I was just very aware that I was intentionally flat out ignoring all romance in a fandom that loves it. I wanted to go for a "they're all a family and it's like they've always been a family and they trust each other and are there for each other without hesitation or awkwardness" kinda thing. I have one note from my original layout that just says "(domestic)" when talking about all of them.
The wing designs!! I love them all so much and it was so fun to try and figure out what to do for each of them. I was trying to do wings that were a little more obvious for the characters and wouldn't require anyone to really search up anything to figure out why they had them, more follow a mental association. Like with Linh's dragonfly wings, dragonfly you think water and Linh is a water person! The added detail of her wings specifically relating to dragons was a bonus play on words there, but do you get what i mean about the association? That's what I was going for.
The story line! It has developed so much since I first wrote it there are things happening that I never planned for and things that I meant to do that got completely ignored, but I love where the au has ended up and where it's going. It is still heading towards its original ending, but it's gotten there a different way and with different dynamics and important characters. Like Phoenix (the girl) originally was just a throwaway character from the first chapter that got the kotlcrew out of a sticky situation and made them face some things as they did so, but then someone asked about her and I went...wait a minute you're right why is she there? And now she's got a lot of relevance to like. Literally everything happening.
It's so cool that it's inspired you--if you ever do write/draw/make your own aus I'd love to see them! And if you ever have any questions on how I've made mine I love to talk about everything always, so you'll probably get a lot more information than you could ever want
As for fanart, of course!! I love seeing fanart of the au it always such a delight. Please do tag me, that way I can see it!! It's so cool to see how people interpret the words I've put down because I almost never have a concrete image in my head. I'm just going for vibes and then those vibes become different things to different people and it's so fun to see.
Thank you so so much for all the compliments this ask seriously made my day, I absolutely love hearing peoples' thoughts on the wings au. I was actually just writing for it before I answered this, so have a little teaser quote!!
“Here, this is a good example,” came Biana’s voice behind her, and she whirled back around, watching those flecks of light condense and merge and assemble themselves into the shape of her friend, her sister.
#kotlc#kotlc wings au#shattered upside down#quil's queries#quil's queridos#nonsie#since we were talking about character dynamics I figured I'd include that quote :)#there are many other things that happen in the chapter I'm trying not to outright spoil#but let me just say...lore#wings au lore is happening#i've said it before and I'll say it again but seriously i love this ask so much#thank you for sending it and being so sweet#I hope you continue to enjoy the wings au!!#because things are all starting to come together but there is story yet to be told!!#long post

I've noticed that in majority white fandoms, it's always a shitshow when the WoC (it gets even worse when the woc is dark skinned) gets more praise/attention than the white woman.
They were all good with NC getting the cover, S3 leads being announced at a freaking FYC event, but as soon as Simone got more shine, then it was too much.
Related to this ask and added the other ask since it is about NC and the White Woman™ Shit she did.
So I’ve noticed this in my other fandoms too and while we are talking about the women, we have to note that at the end of the day, romance genre or not, the white guys always get the most amount of love and attention. See: Anthony getting away with fucking over both Edwina and Kate and the fandom still loves him. I mean I do too but I never hesitate to call him a bitch for it. Also I will admit it does mostly fall on the writers for even writing the engagement plot in with little to no consideration of writing a proper resolution and reconciliation for all three of them.
And if you so much point this out, their fans come out of the woodwork to defend their faves like there’s no tomorrow it’s kind of intense and frustrating because you’re not even listening to some of these very valid concerns and are more focused on defending them. This applies not just to NC and her fans but like across all my fandoms where the white characters and their actors (not all of them are problematic but one or two others come to mind) are held up to this impossibly high pedestal that God forbid the other characters, especially the ones of colour are more popular than them.
Actors aside, I also noticed within the fandom spaces be it fanfics, edits or fanart, the amount of content for white characters vs the POCs has a glaring gap and an amazing mutual of mine @boasamishipper did this incredible analysis on both the Star Wars and Top Gun fandom. While I need to run the exact numbers on Kathony, but I bet you a lot of the fics in the tag are Polio fics which is so fucking annoying, keep your racist ship out of our tags.
To be honest comparing across my fandoms, Kathony is an outlier for being so popular. Mainly because they are beloved from the books but also how Jimone made them so powerful and a cultural reset couple for us today. Because usually, the characters of colours in my fandoms almost always end up being props and side characters to the white characters - even if its an ensemble show. The POCs are always supporting characters to the white ones without fail and its so fucking annoying that they wouldn’t even think twice to centre content around the POC co-leads and have the white characters be support to them. It’s definitely an unconscious bias most of the time but I need content creators to be aware of that and be more conscious about it and think about why they default to this dynamic of white main character and POC are only there to support them as a side character prop.
Anyways that was a general tangent observation on how white characters and actors are always pushed front and centre even more by the fandom.
As for Polios and NC themselves, yeah I mentioned in the previous ask, Polios literally only care about their wins and live in their ignorant bliss because their privilege affords them that. Like having that experience isn’t a bad thing or makes you inherently bad, I just wish I could be that blissfully ignorant! What grates me is how they gloat and the way they gloat while tearing down the female characters of colour and their actresses - I’m mainly thinking of Kate/Simone and . They’re only supportive if the WoC is supporting their white fave and even then she needs to stay in her lane and not overshadow NC. At this point, the only way I can even being to respect Polios if they are actively being anti-racist, which they are not. They’re just happy to live in their ignorant bubble and occasionally throw around racially charged insults at Marina and then now want to use Kate to make Pen likeable to the family which gross stop using Kate as a prop to uplift the same asshole who called her a beast.
I already talked about how I feel about NC crying on KC here but yeah it was awkward and shitty. And how with her crying, she centred the conversation to be about her. A conversation that wasn’t even directed at her or about her. Main Character Energy (derogatory) 🤮.

YEAHHH YOU GET IT TOO
i agree, i think chonny jash straight up having a fandom definitely added to my obsession, bc it meant there were other people who made things like fanart or animatics or character/lyric analyzations, and inspired me to make fanart too, and just got me to keep thinking about his music. i pinpoint my interest finally tipping over into obsession when i watched "Chonny Jash and the Weight of the Mind" by W3tBl@nk3t on yt bc it talked abt so many interpretations I had also come up with, and i realized the lore was indeed that deep, and I got fully invested lol.
i think ur right on the money with the fandom being more like what a show or video game would have. CCCC has some, excuse me, very charming characters and a really interesting story that's mostly up for interpretation, and for many, that's enough to stick around. if they were just simply Tally Hall covers, I'm sure they'd still be popular, just not in the same way without Heart, Mind, Soul, and Whole, and Chonny Jash's journey as an artist.
all in all, i think his music just scratches a lot of brains for many people, and those people then go on to make art, fanfic, headcanons, analyzations, shitposts. it's just fun:]
It just dawned on me
So like, the question of how you got into CJ has been asked before, and most of us have answered. So I feel it’d be appropriate if we asked a follow up question:
Why do you like him? What about his music makes you go absolutely FUCKING feral? Is it the vocals/voice? How the instrumental(s) are composed? Anything!
Though more in depth answers are preferred, you are free to be as brief as you’d like. I’m just curious after all.

Anon ask privileges on this blog have hearby been revoked. I may re-instate them at a future time. For now, I’m pissed off and safeguarding. As for the Disk Horse:
I do not follow anti-spop. They are a blog I do not wish to follow and, normally, am disinclined to reblog from because...it’s right in the name, “anti.” As a general rule, I do not follow or very much like critical blogs / salt blogs. I participate in fandom to have fun. (And, at this point, a bit out of personal spite since Spop is, by far, THE most toxic fandom I have ever been in. I could be spending my time frolicking in the peaceful fields of Hyrule, but noooo, my brain’s gotta chew on moody magical teenagers and spacebats). I also had some people try to kick me out of fandom at one point, so I feel like it’s my duty to hold on like grim death. I am still here. I happened to be checking up on a blog I saw come up in my suggestion-feed, remembering a person as a fanfic author I liked, decided to see how they were doing, and, boom, I saw an interesting discussion where they’d reblogged anti-spops opinion of the series’ treatment of Kyle. The series’ treatment of Kyle is one of my pet peeves in the canon (along with Angella’s being trapped in between dimensions forever and not getting to meet a foreshadowed minotuar-princess), so I reblogged and added my two cents.
After getting home from work (covered in grease and blood and very tired) I moseyed over to check out anti-spop becaue of the anon-rumor. I scrolled through some of front-page content and didn’t see anything that stood out to me as “racist.” In fact, I saw their intro-post citing that they are Brazillian / non-white. So, I suspect they get the accusation of being “racist” a lot by people who disagree with them about Catradora, probably. A few posts down and I saw them being... very, very anti-catradora. Having once followed entrapdak-shippers, some of whom really dislike catradora who got into conflicts with catradora-shippers and seeing a lot of rawr back and forth, I did see a lot of heavy catradora-shippers flat out accuse people who did not like the ship of “racism” (because Catra is supposed to be Brazillian / hispanic or something? I don’t know). So, given the history of shipper-politics, I really do think someone was rumor-milling me because “oh, no, they follow me / look in on me and see me reblogging something from someone who hates their ship.”
Look, I’m just tired of the mess. I am not anti-anything. Maybe if someone were to start shipping Frosta with Horde Prime or something, but, in general, the shipwars in this fandom tire me and the anti-character rhetoric tires me. I honestly like all of the characters in spop. Yes, I’m a primary entrapdak-shipper and Entrapta and Hordak-fan, but.... here’s my little secret...(or not so secret if you’ve followed this blog for a while and seen the kinds of fanart I reblog)... I *don’t* hate Catra. There was one time when I borderlined on doing so when I was deep into the entrapdak-fan-hole hanging out with a lot of negative fans, but I kind of kicked myself out of it by actually re-watching the series. I like Catra, a lot. She’s a great character, very interesting and dynamic. I might keep Hordak as my evil pookie-bear, but Catra gives me a lot of feels, too. And I like Catradora. After chilling out a little and actually observing again Catra’s genuine trying-to-make-good actions in Season 5, I’m really not of the school of “Oh noes, she’s been toxic, therefore she’s toxic forever.” As someone whose gone through a butt-ton of therapy over the last year because of my own issues... I don’t believe in “toxic forever” in someone who is shown to be trying to make good. I can’t. In other words, running it back into fandom... I don’t believe that redemption applies only to tall goth warlords who were raised in cults. I’m willing to extend redemption in this fandom to everyone but Prime. (Hell, even Shadow Weaver can get redeemed with a skilled enough fanfic author)! I don’t even care how the Catra-stans have treated the Hordak-stans anymore or vice versa. Drop it. Let it go. The same for the Glimmadora-shippers or whatever. And you know what? Someone may detest your favorite ship for whatever reason. Doesn’t give them vibes they like. Maybe they interpret the characters together as toxic or whatever. It doesn’t mean that you should be making assumptions about them and spreading anon rumors about them that you can’t back up.
If the blog I reblogged from is, in fact, racist (and isn’t just “they don’t like your ship”) give me examples! Cite them! Show me posts where they’re being awful! Until then, rumors and fandom politics can eat a sack of donkey-dongs.

Fanfic teaser
My fic isn’t nearly done yet but I wanted to post a quick teaser. It’s a canon-divergence Sam/Danny, “Sam doesn’t meet Danny and Tucker until sophomore year” (and also Vlad is scheming in the background) fic.
It only occurred to Sam at the moment that she reached the table that she didn't actually know what she was going to say. Hi, I want to know about your parents' life's work, nothing about you. That was rude as hell, even though it was true. The quick walk across the cafeteria felt like it took ages, and in that time she still couldn't think of anything more intelligent to say.
"Hey there!" Beret said cheerfully. "You're Manson, right? I'm Tucker Foley, but you can call me T.F. for Too Fine."
"Uh, I think I'll pass, thanks," Sam said with a frown. "I'm sorry if you get this a lot, but I wanted to ask about the ghosts."
Beret - Tucker - sighed dramatically. "One day, Danny, we'll meet women who want us for our bodies and not our brains."
The other boy snorted a laugh. "Keep telling yourself that." He reached into his backpack and started rummaging around. "You're new in town, right? Not just a transfer from Canterville?"
Canterville was the snooty private school in the suburbs that her parents had tried to put her in before Sam put her foot down and demanded to go to a normal school. She frowned. Did she give off the impression that she was from that kind of place? "I'm from Chicago."
Danny pulled a handful of papers from his backpack and handed them to her one at a time. "One copy of the Fenton Guidebook to Ghosts, one Amity Spook Spotting, and a map of the most-often hit areas." Then he turned back to his friend and they started talking about Doomed like she wasn't even there. Sam wasn't really sure how to react. They must have gotten a lot of people asking about the ghosts. She felt really bad all of a sudden.
"Well, um. Thanks." She wasn't sure that they even heard her. Sam made her way back to the goth table and investigated her new information.
First, the map. It was covered almost all over in little red dots, but the biggest clusters were downtown and at Casper High. That struck her as a little weird. Why here? Why not a graveyard, or some place with more history? The school looked like it had been built in the 90s.
Amity Spook Spotting was a small booklet that had different 'grades' of ghosts on each page. It started with tiny blobs as Grade 0, then progressed up to animals, and then different types of humanoid ghosts. There were six grades in all, and every single one of them had the same warning in bright red at the bottom of the page: Very Dangerous, Do Not Approach.
The Guidebook was more of an actual book, although it was only about thirty pages long. Sam wasn't sure that she was glad it was so short, or disappointed that there wasn't more information. At least it was bound to explain more than the news reports, right?

I made a few in-universe memes to add to the trend.

The trio does a parody ghost hunting show where they go to super haunted places but pretend they're completely normal. Danny regularly "gets possessed" (read: lets his eyes glow, floats, and says gibberish in ghost speak) and no one acknowledges it. Tucker catches undeniable proof of ghosts on camera, thermometer, etc but always has increasingly implausible excuses for it. Sam complains about how her occult stuff is bogus while there is a ghost in her summoning circle.
