Hades’ week!
For the next seven days, we will be using this blog as a celebration of Patrick Page’s Hades. There will be 8 days of prompts. (Why is there an 8th day of prompts in a Hades-week? Because the King commands lol.)
You can create new fanworks of any stripe or reblog old ones you’ve created with #hadesweek, and I will reblog it onto this blog. All fanworks are welcome. We are open to anything and everything as long as its related to the character of Hades in Hadestown. Covers? Sure. Interpretive Dance? Go for it. Art? Sure. Gif edits? Course. Translations of songs into other languages? Sexy. Fanfic? Cromulent. Fanart? Very nice. Cosplay? Sounds nice. Reblogs of previous work are also welcome. This week is meant to just be a celebration of Hades art and fic and meta and whatever else for a week.
Prompts:
January 9. The King on the Chromium Throne (Hades’ outfits and accessories; a focus on character design)
January 10. Think of It as My Desire for You (Hades and Persephone’s relationship in focus; it has its highs, it has its lows, but its always clear)
January 11. Hey Little Songbird (Hades relationship with Eurydice, in any/all meanings of the word)
January 12. He Said He’d Harbor Us/He Said He’d Shelter Me (Hades’ relationship with the workers/the chorus)
January 13. Orpheus, the Undersigned (Hades’ relationship with Orpheus; a foil, a priest, and a poet all in one)
January 14. The Electric City (Hades’ relationship with his eponymous Hadestown)
January 15. Word to the Wise (act 2 focus + her worship among the Workers/Hermes/Orpheus and Eurydice)
20th. A Love Song (a coda, a bonus day to bring us back to where the show begins, in a garden)
If you use one of the prompts, tag it with the prompt (e.g, for the 13th, tag #the king on the chromium throne) and I will add it under the prompt’s hashtag on this blog as well. But if you do not want to go off the prompts, just add #hadesweek and I will add it to the reblogs without adding any prompts to it.
What kind of content can I add?
Sugar, spice, and anything nice – as long as its Hades-related. Seriously, anything. Meta about what you like about Hades is appreciated; thank you posts for Patrick or welcome (back) posts for Tom are great; fanfic is lovely, fanart too. Interpretive dance or covers or gif-sets or videos or just your favorite show memories about Patrick? Great. Wanna post a crossover between the Green Goblin and Hadestown? Sure. All fan works are welcome. It’s an Patrick Page love fest. By Patrick fans, for Patrick fans.
Reblogs and original content are both allowed!
See below for a FAQ:
I wrote something a year ago that fits a prompt - can I reblog it for this?
Yes! As long as it’s Hades focused AND the reblog is something you yourself created (eg don’t reblog someone else’s art with #hadesweek or something; like Hades, I will only reblog what others choose to offer freely), go nuts! If you want to use this as a challenge to make some new art or fic or meta or whatnot, that is very cool and I would love to see it. But realistically, with just a weeks notice, not everyone will have time to make new works, and honestly tumblr moves so fast there’s lots of good stuff we haven’t seen for a bit that I’d love to have reblogged here. If you would like it featured too, please add #hadesweek to a reblog.
….I have Hades content that doesn’t fit the prompts tho. Can I post or reblog that for Hades week?
Yes. This is all about creations that feature Hades. The prompts are just ideas to get started, but they are optional. If you don’t like them, don’t use them. Just reblog #hadesweek and it goes up here on this blog for posterity.
How many times are you going to post/reblog things? WIll you add stuff for a prompt even after that day is over?
I reblog as much as I can, as fast as I can. I’ll check the tag for a month for new works but will post it after if you can make sure I see it. Make sure that you have your blog visible to be searched and that you’ve filled in the tag right: #hadesweek . If I miss yours for some reason assume user error on my part and send me a msg; I’ll add it.
What if I have fanfic or fanart that’s about Hades, but it’s not entirely Patrick’s version? Are transgender/non-binary/alternate gender or design Sephs that are inspired by Patrick in some small way welcome?
Yes. All Hades are good Hades. All Hades make me press the reblog button.I’m not going to judge how much your Hades is Patrick and how much it’s anyone else.
Does it have to be Broadway version of Hades?
No. Patrick has been Hades from NYTW on and we respect all her work. NYTW, Edmonton, London, and Broadway works are all welcome.
I have Hades content but it also has Persephone/Orpheus/Eurydice/The Fates/Hermes/The Workers/A Lamp/An Original Character - is it allowed?
Yes! Hades is a flavor that is delicious both as a sole ingredient and in a group composition. We accept every Hades relationship and every Hades gen combo and Hades solo works, too. All Hades with some Patrick inspiration are welcome. All versions of Hades with Hades’ friends, family, and lovers are welcome, too.
Can I follow this blog? Do I have to follow to participate?
You can follow if you want to, but its optional. To participate all you need to do is tag something you post on tumblr.com with #hadesweek.
Do I have to add content warnings/are you going to add content warnings?
No, though common sense ones like NSFW are appreciated to help people curate their experiences. I will reblog content warnings if they are there. I will only add tags to aid in blog organization otherwise: e.g. identifying if it fits a prompt, who the characters in the picture are, etc.
Who runs this?
@acequeenking right now.
Why are you planning this for a week after Patrick left?
Because Patrick left around the holidays, and I figured this way we would have more time to appreciate it!

Any Way The Wind Blows Week: A Send Off to Jessie Shelton - September 4-10
Hey everyone it's Attie @threadcutters and Drago @eriktheshitmusician !!
Jessie, who had been a first "Fate 1" back in New York Theatre Workshop, will be leaving the Broadway production of Hadestown, where she also played a Fate One, a Worker and understudied Eurydice, on September 4th.
This sort of feels like an end to an era to us, in a way - as she’s one of the last principal cast members to leave, as well as one of the only things left tying us back to NYTW - (Patrick is still here, but he’s not specifically NYTW.) And as the NYTW production means a lot to the fandom, and the Fates in general need more love, we thought a send-off to Jessie might be a fun way to celebrate both. So that's what's gonna happen! Inspired by Sephweek, Workers Week and Hermes Week - we threw something together! It formally starts on September 4th and goes through the 10th, but we thought it would be better to get the prompts out ASAP.
You can create anything centered about Jessie in Hadestown or reblog older ones tagged with #windblowsweek or @anywaythewindblowsweek and it will be reblogged to this blog.
It can be any type of work ranging from fan art and fanfics through gifs and edits, Cosplay, covers to infinity and beyond. You can even play a part of the show she plays on violin or do a piece of one of the dances. Whatever you can think of, that centers around Jessie and her roles in Hadestown.
You can choose from one of the prompts below and tag your work with the prompt name along with the general #windblowsweek, or tag this account! The prompts will roll out daily, but feel free to jump back to old ones or just create art unrelated to the prompts and tag us! Feel free to retroactively tag us in any work that you think fits too.
Day 1, 9/4: Vipers and Vultures - Focus on Jessie’s work as a fate in the Broadway version of Hadestown, the fates in the Broadway version, the fates as narrative foils to Hermes or the manifestation of the characters’ inner psyche.
Day 2, 9/5: Crows and Buzzards - Focus on Jessie’s work as a fate in the New York Theatre Workshop version of Hadestown, the fates in the NYTW version, the fates as stand ins for the ensemble, or their fluidity + ever present nature.
Day 3, 9/6: In Her Shoes, In Her Skin - Focus on Jessie’s work as a swing for Eurydice or as a Worker: her characterization, how her portrayal + dynamic with the other characters differs from the other actors, and what makes it special.
Day 4, 9/7: You Get A Knife in the Back! - Focus on the Fates as bringers of fear and misery, their underhanded and sometimes violent tactics, or the moments when they seem to enjoy whispering doubt.
Day 5, 9/8: The Ones Who Bloom in the Bitter Snow - Focus on the lighter moments in the Fates’ lives: their dynamic with each other, Hermes, Hades and Persephone, or the moments where they seem to be acting out of kindness or mercy.
Day 6, 9/9: Always Singing in the Back of Your Mind - Focus individually on Jessie’s fate herself - exactly how her portrayal carries throughout both versions, what goes on in her head, or how she specifically reacts to the events of the show.
Day 7, 9/10: Set Out Walking and You Don't Look Back - Focus on all of Jessie’s work in Hadestown together, whether it’s just a simple send-off or something meta that ties it all together.
For the later prompts, feel free to focus on any version or expand some of the prompts to the other Fates! This is just for fun and to celebrate one of the most long-standing members of Hadestown!
Have fun, go crazy, be wild. Happy creating!!

Aight hadestownies! Guess what? It's time for
🤍 Hermes Week! 🤍
Oh yeah!
[Gif ID: A GIF of André de Shields as Hermes from Hadestown, talking into an old microphone and pointing at something off-camera. He is standing on the Hadestown stage. The lighting is heavy and hides his eyes. End ID]
André de Shields is leaving Hadestown on Sunday the 29th, and I wanna wish him farewell.
Normally, there'd be prompts that spur on fanfic or art ideas, but I haven't a darned clue what to put... so, there aren't any prompts this week. Go wild! Or make your own!
Make sure to tag your posts as #hermesweek so I can see them, too! Have fun out there!

Hermes Week?
I’ve had a couple people ask me if I was planning on holding a Hermes week; sadly it’s not going to be in the cards for me this week. But I wanted to say if someone does make one, I’d be happy to reblog it here if you @ me or pm me! If anyone does know there is a Hermes week going on (and there should be because Andre is a babe, I just wish he hadn’t left this month which is basically ON FIRE for me) please lmk so I can spread the good word.
#Hermes#andre de shields#Hadestown#Sorry I can't do this one!#I loved Andre's hermes#Rude of him to leave during the end of my class smh

This is really short notice but I got really busy so
⛏ Worker’s Week! ⛏
Timothy Hughes, the last of the five OBC workers, is leaving on the 9th. It would be sad if there wasn’t as much tribute to them.
So this is for posting fanart and fanfics relating to the workers! ⛏⚒️
The prompts are as follows (starting April 5)
Day 1: Two Coins - what made them take the train, and their first experiences down below
Day 2: The Mine, The Mill, The Machinery - daily life in Hadestown, dynamics with co workers, etc
Day 3: Speakeasy Time - Just moments hanging out at the speakeasy, drinking or having fun
Day 4: Mean Old Boss - How they interact with Hades, or how Hades treats them
Day 5: Papers - their initial animosity towards Orpheus
Day 6: Eurydice - dealing with their newest coworker
Day 7: Show The Way - The riot that comes after If It’s True
Remember you’re not forced within the time and prompt constraints! Feel free to get creative with your tribute to the workers!

Thought it would be a good idea to collect all the animatics I did for @sephweek together in one place (not to mention taking it as an opportunity to correct a couple of mistakes that slipped through at first)! Go check it out to see my takes on some of my favourite Persephone moments in the show!
