miguel and johnny returned with kenny the next afternoon. devon confessed to what happened in the woods and gave kenny her spot. kenny forgave her. sensei's seemed to be working well together. everything seemed like it was on the up and up. until...
"what do you think about kenny?" demitri came up to you with a curious expression, eli trailing not too far behind. kenny was sitting in a corner with devon, the both of them laughing and talking.
"kenny? i'm glad he's here." you responded from your spot at the mirror. you were doing your makeup, wondering why everyone had to meet in the girls room every time before matches. "he's gonna do great." you liked kenny, he was a cool kid and a great fighter. you had no doubt he would rise to the occasion.
"see, man." eli tapped demitris arm. "you're being paranoid."
"i'm not. he's gonna screw us." demitri raised his hands. "showing up the same time as silver? bad omen."
"you're being dramatic, mit." lately, if it wasn't one thing with demitri, it was another. he spent the rest of last night venting to you about the yasmin ordeal and you wanted to tell him he was in the wrong but you didn't want to argue with a debate champion. you were choosing your battles but it was hard because battles kept coming left and right.
"yeah, we shouldn't be jumping to conclusions." sam agreed from besides you. "he came all this way to help us."
"i'm not saying it's happened yet but we know that silvers gonna cheat. the only question is how?" demitri shot kenny a look.
"i'm gonna go over the numbers devon gave me with our sensei's." you got up and left the room with no plans on meeting with the sensei's unless you crossed paths. you just needed some air. between dojo drama and axel, you were feeling overwhelmed. you wanted to talk to him and ask him why he left so abrubtly after you kissed, but you also felt wrong mingling with a rival dojo. if any of the miyagi do's saw you talking to him they would definitely get the wrong idea. or the right idea, seeing as your first conversation with axel resulted in a kiss.
there was two hours until the next match. enough time to go for a walk on the beach to clear your head so you could fully support your teammates. before the doors to the elevator could shut, a hand stopped them. axel walked in, looking at his phone. his tall frame immediately stiffened when he saw your face.
"hey, axel." you started, knowing he wouldn't make the first move to speak. he nodded in acknowledgment. "it's good to see you."
"it is?" he looked at you, a crease between his brows. your reaction to his kiss last night made him think you wanted nothing to do with him.
you nodded. "yeah. it's always good to see you. where are you going?"
"needed some air." he sighed out in response.
"me too. everything is a little too much in there." you thought back to robby and tory, demitri and eli, kenny, and your sensei's.
"same." between sensei wolf, zara, and you, axel was stressed. he knew he would do good but he was half a second behind, his precision faltering in his performance at practice in the early hours of the morning. sensei wolf, of course, did not let it slide.
the two of you stood in silence until the doors opened. the both of you exited and fell into a nice, silent walk together. you didn't even need to speak to one another. it was comfortable.
you walked down to the beach and there was more people during the day than at night. you managed to find a spot to sit and he sat next to you. looking out at the ocean, you put your attention on the sound of the people walking by and talking, the ocean, and music coming from the bars in the background. however, even with all the noise, you couldn't drown out your thoughts. you didn't even have to fight but you could feel that your team wasn't on the same page. you could feel a loss coming if they didn't get it together. they needed to trust
each other again but it would never be that easy. on top of that, you felt as if your choice of new friends could make things worse if they were to find out. you were torn, wanting to be there with your friends for an important moment in all of their lives but also to disappear into the background of barcelona with axel. why did he have to be on the opposing team? why couldn't it be simple?
axel, on the other hand, was only able to think about you. he already knew how to deal with pressure. he knew what his body could and couldn't do. he knew the ways sensei wolf would push him. he had been trained for this. his life was his sport and maybe that was the problem. he was never allowed any time to let anyone into his life. he was the best in karate and nothing else and you still saw him. not just the talented fighter, you saw axel. and you wanted him. he wasn't going to just let you go like that. he knew it wouldn't be that easy but he never backed down from a challenge.
bracing himself for the possibility of rejection, he cleared his throat. "do you want to get dinner tonight?" axel asked, finally turning to look at you.
"tonight?" he nodded. "yeah, i would love to." you nodded, blush creeping onto your face. "we should probably head back."
"no." axel grabbed your hand. it wasn't forceful, but gentle and assertive all at once. your stomach did a somersault. "let's sit for a little while more, yeah?"
"okay." he didn't let your hand go and you didn't make a move to let go either. it was nice, being able to just sit with him by the beach and melt into all the people coming and going. it felt natural, like you were meant to be here in this moment with axel.
axel wasn't used to this kind of softness in his life. he was built on routine and structure. his life had always been goal oriented. rarely did he have moments to just sit and think. a couple serene minutes went by and your phone started ringing.
"miguel d. is calling"
"sorry, i have to take this." you stood up and answered your phone. "hey."
"where are you? there's only an hour until the next event."
"i went for a walk to clear my head, i'll be back soon."
"okay, because i could really use some support. everyone's focus is all over the place. it's like they don't care if we lose." miguel sighed into the phone. your heart skipped a beat. here you were with your attention on axel.
"i know, they're gonna exhaust themselves fighting each other before they get to the mat."
"yeah." miguel laughed a little. "i wish you had chosen to compete for a spot. it would have been nice to have you and sam on my side. we're outnumbered."
"it's gonna be okay. it will get worked out."
"i hope so."
you looked back at axel. "i'll be back soon, okay?"
"okay."
you hung up the phone and gave axel a tight lipped smile. "i have to go."
"what about tonight?" he stood up, taking a step towards you.
"i'll see you at nine." you waved goodbye, leaving him standing there in the sand. axel looked forward to getting his matches out of the way and being able to properly take you out.
***
axel was good at shutting down his emotions. emotions didn't help his karate. precision and discipline were all he needed on the mat. still, he couldn't help the jealousy that plucked his heartstrings when he saw you and miguel talking. the way you looked at him, you made him seem incredibly important to you. the way you were smiling and laughing, blocking the playful jabs he sent your way. axel wished it were him.
"sam, come get your kid." you managed to jab miguel in the stomach after his playful assault.
"ow!" miguel dramatically threw his arms up.
"that's what you get." sam laughed and he placed an arm around her shoulder, pressing a kiss to the side of her head which axel did not see.
the matches began and you couldn't help but be immersed in axel's fights. he was doing amazing, as usual. he was lazer focused and no one stood in his way. he was untouchable. you were glad you weren't fighting, or else you would be majorly distracted by the way he would shoot a look at you after every point he gained. you just couldn't look away from him. he was magnetic.
once miyagi do faced their first opponent, furia de pantera, you felt all the anxiety of the day rushing back up.
demitri stubbornly and stupidly refused to tag in eli which resulted in the panthers landing the first point. sam managed to land a point on their female captain but eli refused to tag in kenny and tagged sam again. she managed to hold her own for a while, blocking and countering every strike. they weren't letting her tag out because they could tell she was getting tired keeping up her defense. almost all the panthers got a turn with sam, all of them incredibly quick and strong. diego, or "spanish hawk" as demitri called him, getting the last round. he blocked another of sam's kicks and swept her standing leg. sam fell to the floor with a shout. she fell on her ankle at an excruciating angle. the entire arena could hear a loud pop as she hit the ground. you grimaced at the sound of her cry in agony. the spanish team all looked at each other with concern and diego was apologizing profusely as the referee ushered him away.
"sam!" miguel rushed to sams side as she held her ankle in the center of the mat, rolling around in pain.
"medic! we need a medic!" daniel larusso rushed to sam's other side, frantically trying to help.
back in the locker room, the medic was putting a brace on sams ankle. "we managed to get the swelling down but you need to stay off of it for the next few days so it can heal."
"so does that mean...?" sam asked, eyes already teary because she knew what was coming.
"you're not gonna be able to finish competing." the medic and daniel talked for a minute before she left. sam was holding miguels hand, resting her head on a pillow while letting silent tears stream down her face.
"refs said it was an automatic forfeit. we can still fight the next match in 30 minutes." johnny came back in the room. "automatic forfeit. bullshit."
"she's not gonna be fine in 30 minutes johnny. medic said she can't fight." daniel said pointedly.
"well, we have to do something. we need a female captain to continue." johnny shot back. everyone was exchanging worried glances between each other and then they all turned to look at you.
you looked around you, to make sure you weren't imagining things. "me?"
"yeah, you." johnny nodded. "you got 3rd place at the all valley. doesn't get much better than that."
"you all know i don't fight anymore right? i haven't trained since the all valley. it's been months. what about devon?" you quickly tried to defend yourself.
"believe me, i'd love to but you're the better option for captain. if you had fought me in the woods you would have kicked my ass." devon smiled at you, encouraging you to take the spot but you felt anything but encouraged. your heart was racing, threatening to jump out of your chest.
"i can fight." sam said from her place on the bed while trying to get up. her face contorted in pain as she tried to move her injured foot.
"woah, woah. stop. no offense babe, but if you fight you're just gonna get us all eliminated. i wanted to see you on that podium, but it just wasn't your time." miguel kissed the top of her head and sam could only squeeze her eyes shut and say goodbye to her dream.
"so what's it gonna be? you gonna let all your friends down just because you're scared." johnny questioned you.
"i'm not scared."
"then what?"
you took a deep breath and looked at everyone. robby and miguel both had the same puppy dog expression that made it incredibly hard to say no. devon and kenny both nodded at you in approval. hawk shot you a pleading look. it was all too much again. "i need a minute."
without another word, you quickly walked out of the locker room and into the arena. competitors walked past you, not paying you any mind. you were no one to them. you felt invisible again. your mind didn't stop racing though. you didn't know if you were ready to compete for the world championship of karate. you also didn't know if you could let your friends down like that. you walked aimlessly for a minute before someone tugged you into an obscure corner.
you fight instict kicked in, being incredibly anxious, so you did the first thing you could. you swung your fist right into their face.
"ow." a familiar voice answered the punch. "it's me." axel held his cheek with one hand, rubbing the spot where you hit him.
"axel! i'm so sorry!" you immediately rose your hand to touch his face, gentle this time around. "i didn't mean to hurt you."
"it was a good punch." axel was smiling, trying to make you feel better about it. "but i've had worse."
you frowned, knowing what he was referring to. "i'm still sorry."
"it's okay. where are you going?"
"nowhere."
axel looked at you. he could tell something was off. your responses were quick and breathless. "are you okay?"
you nodded instinctively. "yeah. yeah. yes. i'm good."
"are you sure?" he felt a wall coming up between the two of you and he didn't like it. "you can talk to me."
you let out a little sigh, trying to relax as much as possible with him. you didn't know whether you could trust him or not with him being on silver's team and you felt a lump in your throat preventing you from being honest. "yeah. i saw your matches. you were amazing." you were as honest as you could be. he was killing it.
"thanks." axel looked you up and down, noticing your tense body language. your arms were crossed and your foot anxiously tapped the ground.
"how do you do it?"
"what?"
"how do you stay undefeated?"
axel looked at you, curious as to where this was coming from. "i train hard. i stay focused. i use my strengths and know my opponent's weakness. i only ever lost once. never again." you were nodding along as he spoke. "why?"
you inhaled sharply. you wanted to tell him. "it's complicated. i'm-"
"she's gotta be around here somewhere." robby's voice was faint but distinct.
"i wish find my phone was a little more precise." miguels voice approached closer.
"those are my friends, i gotta go." you gave him an apologetic look. "i'll see you tonight."
you left axel, once again, and immediately faced miguel and robby. "hey, so i know this isn't ideal-" robby started, already preparing a speech in his head to try to convince you.
"i'll fight." you cut him off.
"what?" the two asked, equally confused at your turnaround.
"i'll fight. i just need a gi. and some training." you looked at the time on your phone. "match starts in like 20 minutes right?"
they nodded and very quickly ushered you back into the locker room. "she's gonna fight." robby announced, and everyone's eyes lit up.
daniel larusso smiled, proud of your decision. "you can handle this." he spoke as he tied the headband around your head.
"now go get dressed, our captain's gonna help bring you up to speed." johnny placed a hand on robby's shoulder, giving you an encouraging nod.
"sam..." you started and she immediately stopped you.
"it's okay. i trust you. we all do." sam gave you a supportive smile and nod.
the miyagi do insignia on the back of your gi has meant many different things for you at many different parts of your life. this time it meant redemption, to finally fight for the right reasons.
robby and your sensei's did the best they could to prepare you for the match, stressing defense and not letting them land a point on you. don't do anything too risky. you could leave it up to your team, at least in this one, to score the points.
stepping out onto the mat was even more intimidating than you thought it would be. you were no longer a spectator. you were an enemy. more than that, you were a spectacle. a shiny new toy. you felt eyes on you from every angle, terry silver smiled at you. kreese eyed you curiously. tory looked at you in disbelief. she couldn't believe that she might have to face you for the first time since the all valley where she's not even sure she really won any of her matches.
"replacing samantha larusso as captain for the miyagi do team is y/n l/n." the announcer did his job, making your name sound incredibly grand next to all of these excellent fighters.
then there was axel.
he was staring at you, as per usual, but with surprise in his eyes. your gaze softened. the most you could do was give him a discreet nod of acknowledgment and face the two fighters in the center.
miguel started the match this time around. it was miyagi do v. redentores. he was doing great, just unable to break his opponent's defense. he glanced over his shoulder and looked at you, tagging you in. "you got this."
your adrenaline carried you as you bounced on your toes, waiting for your opponent to strike. he looked you up and down, scoffed, and then started attacking.
you were agile, jumping nearly 6 feet in the air when he tried to sweep your leg. you landed on your feet. "ais!" you shouted, throwing a fast combination of punches and kicks that your opponent dodged. you backed him into a corner until he tagged another girl on his team. she was mainly kicking, using her legs more than any other part of her body. you saw an opening and took it, blocking her next kick with one arm and then sweeping her leg from beneath her, axe kicking her while she was on the floor.
"point!"
"let's go." you ran over to robby, tagging him in. "it's time."
"come on, captain." miguel clapped his hands together and watched the scene fold out in front of him.
he very easily got the second point but his last opponent was simply too quick for him to land a point on.
"robby, tag me!" kenny called out.
"no, me!" hawk said in return.
"tag me."
"do not tag him!"
robby was able to take a breath and centered himself before tagging in kenny. it was amazing, but not surprising, that kenny won the winning point. while on top of your shoulders, he flipped off terry silver and your heart swelled with pride. of course, you had your own beef with terry (who wouldn't after he made you break wooden boards that were so thick that it drew blood and wrecked your hands) but kenny finally stuck it to him. kenny was free from the intimidation and cruelty that is terry silver.
across the room, even in the embrace of your team and sensei's, you felt the familiar sensation of being watched. of course, it was axel and for once he looked happy in the arena, not just determined. you smiled back in his direction before you had to leave the mat.
"y/n, that was awesome." devon came rushing to your side. "i almost forgot that you can jump that high."
"more of that." johnny fist bumped you as miguel grabbed your shoulders and gently shook you. when he let go, you noticed axel walking right in your direction. he wasn't even looking at you. he walked directly into miguel with his shoulder, making miguel stumble, and then past you guys like nothing.
"what the hell was that?" miguel said, very confused and annoyed. he thought he had been imagining the death stares that the iron dragon leader had been shooting him from across the mat all day. the two hadn't even faced each other yet. he couldn't think of a single reason why the guy wouldn't like him.
"i don't know." you looked back at axel who was staring at you and miguel. you shot him a questioning look before turning back around but axel watched you go.
there was only 5 minutes until the tie breaker with cobra kai. after an emotional pep talk and a quick talk with your sensei's on areas of improvement, you were ready. you were even excited. your confidence was steadily rising and your team was more in sync than ever. you were ready.
"nervous?" miguel asked approaching you
at the edge of the mat.
"not scared though."
he laughed a little. "you know, when i first met you, this is the last place i thought we would end up."
"yeah, me too. i didn't think the annoying, scrawny, little kid would be one of the best fighters in the world. never seen that one coming." you teased and he rolled his eyes.
"yeah, yeah, yeah. i didn't think ugly betty would be my best friend, fighting by my side in the world tournament of karate." he referred to the era before you got contacts where you wore unflattering glasses and had no sense of style.
you smiled. "oh shut up..."
"you know, i'm really happy we became friends."
"me too, miggy."
he draped an arm around your shoulder. "best chance i ever took."
you rolled your eyes and shoved miguel away from you. "you were the most risky chance i ever took. being your friend put a target on my back."
miguel rose his arms in defense. "hey, hey. let's not bring up the past now. remember when your friends broke into my girlfriends house-"
"better to leave the past in the past." you laughed a little. "thank you, miguel. none of us would be here if it wasn't for you." you looked down at your hands. "i wanna apologize-"
"don't." he stopped you. "you apologize like every month. i already forgave you for everything, even before you came back to the our side. you're a major reason we all made it here. i wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you. you don't have to keep apologizing.
you did your time."
you remembered meeting miguel when he moved in next door and encouraging miguel to take the karate classes. it felt like yesterday for the both of you. miguel's your best friend. nothing more, nothing less. you had been through a lot together. you're grateful he was able to forgive you. you knew the two of you would be friends for a long, long time. without another word, you hugged miguel tightly. he hugged you back just as tight. "our match is about to start."
from afar, axel watched the interaction with a broken heart. of course, you were in love with your best friend. he never stood a chance against miguel, the guy who completely changed your life. seeing you in miguel's arms put a pit in axels stomach, one that threatened to swallow him whole. if he was fighting, someone might actually be able to land a point on him. he never felt this before and he didn't know how to stop it.
the last match was incredibly close but miyagi do won. robby took the win for you for you guys in his last fight against kwon. you don't know what exactly happened but he honed in on all his skills, letting go of whatever was keeping him from performing at his peak. he kicked kwon's ass and everyone was proud of him. your sensei's even let the team hit the streets for the night as long as you all got enough sleep and you didn't do anything they wouldn't do (terrible words to come out of johnny lawrence's mouth).
"you guys seriously aren't going out tonight?" you stood up from your vanity, finished getting ready. it was 8:45pm. miguel was sitting on sam's bed next to sam while devon was in your shared bed.
"nah, it's gonna be a chill night in." miguel rested his head on sam's shoulder. her crutches rested on the wall besides them.
"kinda disappointed we didn't get to see more of barcelona." sam frowned.
"me too."
"i think you two should go out." you said, looking over your shoulder as you grabbed the door handle. "you can always meet us at the bar. come on devon."
you waved devon over and she followed you out of the room. once in the elevator you sighed. "okay. you remember the plan right?"
"i go to the bar with the team and tell them that you're training. if i get back before you do, i tell sam the same thing." devon nodded.
"i really appreciate you doing this for me, dev."
"of course. so are you really not gonna tell me who it is? is it kwon? i saw you two talking at the bar." devon asked, eyes wide and full of a youthful curiosity.
"it's not kwon. ew." you laughed. "when i do decide to tell everyone, you'll be the first. i still need to test the waters. see if i can trust him, you know?" you replied, looking at the time on your phone. you hated to group axel in with silver but he was the captain of silver's team. you felt like you couldn't be sure about his intentions with you and you hated it. he's been nothing but sweet to you.
"okay." devon accepted. "just call us if anything goes wrong and it's a sneak attack."
"i don't think it is, but i know you guys will come running if i need you." you smiled warmly at her. "thank you, again."
"anytime. plus i know you'll have my back when i'm off doing secret boyfriend things."
the elevator doors opened and you stepped out. "be safe okay?"
"okay." you nodded and watched the elevator close, devon going back up to the boys room.
as if on queue, the neighboring elevators doors opened and axel emerged. he was immediately drawn towards you. you had on plenty of shiny jewelry but he was drawn to your eyes the most. you captivated him. he almost forgot the scene he witnessed in the arena where you and miguel couldn't get your hands off of each other. almost. he still had his guard up, especially now after your surprise entry into the sekai tekai. he needed to know if he could trust you. "i didn't think you were coming since..." he trailed off.
"because i'm captain now?" you asked and he nodded. you looked around. "we're not in the arena anymore. we're done for the night." you gave him a reassuring smile. "you look great." you took his hand that was outstretched to you. he was wearing a white knit longsleeve and brown pants, black belt with a silver buckle and black chuck taylors. it was nice to see his personal style and how it compared to the vibe he gave off in the arena.
"you too. let's go?" he asked and you nodded, walking out of the hotel. you started walking in the direction of the beach district but axel stopped, keeping you in place.
"what are you doing?"
"this is a date. you think i would let you walk?" axel asked, amused at your confusion. a taxi pulled up and he opened the door for you. "after you."
you were caught off guard. "thank you." you got in the taxi, axel coming in next to you. you had somewhat limited dating experience. you dated eli before he broke up with you to date moon and you dated robby for a few weeks after he got out of juvie before he started showing interest in tory. it was like every guy you dated eventually left you for another girl but axel was focused on you. you felt small under his gaze. you never had someone pay so much attention to you.
"don't thank me. it's the least i can do." he squeezed your hand and you smiled at him, resting your head on his shoulder. axel couldn't help but lean into your affection. he also couldn't help but worry what your intentions were. were you and miguel trying to get in his head with a sick joke? was any of it sincere? he pushed the thoughts away as best as he could and kept you close as the ride went on.
axel paid the driver as you guys left the taxi. you were in front of a restaurant and bar that your friends passed on last night in favor of the tapas bar. this one was definitely more low key and atmospheric. the lights were dim purple and blue and the music was a soft instrumental. axel did all the talking, speaking spaniard spanish, which you weren't expecting at all.
you two were led to a table in the corner, by a window with a good view of the street. it was a truly romantic setting, with roses in the center and two candles illuminating your table. you two were silent for the first minutes, enjoying the music and exchanging glances and smiles after ordering food and drinks.
"we should start talking right?" you sighed. "one of the main reasons i like being with you is that we don't need to talk, but we have to get to know each other at some point. right?"
"right." axel nodded, thinking of what he could say. "that was a nice point you got on nichols. you can jump really high. maybe even world record." he tried to keep it light.
"thanks." you turned red under his compliments as you bit your lip. "is it okay if we don't talk about karate right now?" axel froze. martial arts were his whole life. what else could he talk about? you could tell he wasn't ready for that so you decided to try and break the ice. "have you ever been here before?" you asked.
"once, on my last trip to spain. me and zara came here after a... tournament." axel smiled sheepishly, mentioning karate after you asked him not to.
"are you and zara close?"
"not really."
"how come?"
"competition. in our dojo, there can only be one number one. in the tournament, we can work together because we both want to win, but outside of the tournament we don't even really talk." you hated to admit it to yourself but hearing that was a relief. you didn't know what you would have done if they were a thing. "sorry, you don't want to talk about karate."
"no, i'm sorry. it was kind of unfair to ask. i mean we're competing in the world tournament of karate." you laughed at yourself a little. you were nervous but you could also tell he was nervous as well.
"okay, why did you take the captain spot?"
now it was your turn to freeze up. "i know larusso got hurt, but why you?" you tilted your head to the side a bit. "not like that! that was rude i didn't mean why you, i meant-"
"i know." it was the most you ever seen him talk at once and you almost didn't want to stop him. "i stopped fighting a few months ago. i lost a tournament. 3rd place. i tried to stay out of all the drama. i dedicated myself to school. i didn't think i would compete again." you took a deep breath. "i stopped fighting because i hated who i became when i learned how. i have regrets, a lot of them having to do with my teammates. this is my chance to fight for the right reasons. i owe it to them."
the silence weighed heavy. axel took in your words. "don't you owe it to yourself too?" he asked.
before you had a chance to answer, the waiter came over with the water you both asked for. you took a sip from your glass and when you met axel's eyes he was still waiting for your answer. you realized then that axel would never let you avoid or evade anything with him. you admired it. you had the tendency to shut down when it all got to be too much.
"i don't know." you shrugged. "it's complicated."
"sounds like it." axel's foot bumped your under the table. "sorry."
"it's okay." you bumped his foot back and then you two were playing footsie. it felt nice to be giggling with a boy you liked. you felt like a normal girl who could go on a date. you almost forgot what it felt like to relax before meeting axel.
you two recieved your food and about halfway through enjoying it, you froze. "what?" axel asked. he followed your line of sight out of the window until he saw miguel walking up to the entrance of the restaurant. "what's he doing here?" his entire demeanor changed. miguel's entrance made axel completely tense up. you were tense too but once you noticed axel's composure, everything clicked. the constant glares in the arena, his tendency to roar whenever your team was front and center to one of his matches, the shove he gave miguel earlier today. axel was jealous. it was amusing when it finally sank in. axel was jealous of the closest thing you ever got to a brother. you basically saw miguel as a germ and axel thought the two of you were together. the thought of a romance made you wildly uncomfortable because he was literally like your brother. it was like he completely missed any sam and miguel interaction. you noticed him holding open the door for sam but it was like axel was completely missing the big picture again.
"i invited him."
axel's heart dropped. he looked at you and you were smiling. proud of yourself. he felt sick. everything he tried not to think about you was true. you were using him, playing with him. he let himself get carried away with the idea that you could actually like him. "you what?"
"oh yeah, i told him to come. thought you should finally meet him." you pointed over his shoulder and he turned around, seeing miguel and sam kissing while swaying together. "and his girlfriend. sam."
axel went red with embarrassment and he quickly turned back around to face you. he didn't know how he could miss that. the two never left each others side on the mat until she got injured. he was the first one to run to her side when she got hurt. now, rethinking all the interactions that he seen between you and miguel, he may have been reading into some things. he turned back to you, shameful blush all over his face and ears.
"did you really think i was with miguel?" you scrunched your nose like miguel had cooties or something. "he's a brother to me."
"i'm sorry-"
"don't apologize to me, apologize to him." you couldn't help but laugh at the situation. "you're cute when you're jealous, axel." he felt his face burn even hotter. taking his hand in yours, you looked into his eyes. "i promise you can trust me."
he stared into your eyes and he was able to see that you also needed the reassurance. you weren't some master manipulator, you were a girl with stories and he wanted to hear all of them. he wanted to tell you his stories and create new ones with you. "and you can trust me."
at the same time, sam and miguel were seated at a table across the room. miguel's back was turned towards your table but sam had a clear view of the exchange.
the two of you had long forgotten sam and miguel, leaning over the table to kiss.
it was a syrupy sweet, playful kiss. your lips moved in time with the guitar playing in the background. you were giggling, and you could feel his smile against your lips. he gently bit your lip and you gasped, pulling away to peck his lips a few times before trailing your kisses away from his lips. you kissed the side of his mouth, all over his cheek, and over his jawline.
"i like you." you whisper when you get close to his ear.
"i like you too." he leaned into yours. "you wanna go?"
"okay." you nod and he stands up, taking your hand and leading you out of the restaurant.
the two of you spend the rest of the night kissing on the beach, both of you finally able to be yourselves with the other.
sam spends the rest of the night trying to focus on miguel and not the fact that you were macking it with the captain of terry silver's team.

-➤𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 || Stanley Pines ||
A/n: Annnd here is stans version of this post
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's been a while since Stan took you and being the wonderful boyfriend that he is. The man had decided to take out, spoil you....after all you did deserve it.
Though he swore he didn't know how he ended up here, parked in the same spot a year ago where you and Stan made out until Robbie interrupted you both.
Stan swears he just wanted to watch the stars with you. That maybe the case but you...you had different plans.
Curled into Stan's chest, you two sat in the back of the El Diablo. "Can I show you my surprise now Stan?" Lips grazing his neck, you pulled away shifting your body slipping the long over coat reviling a tight almost see through blue nightie.
Stan let out a strangled groan shifting his own body as his fingers clutched your hips, despite his blush he gave you a crooked smile. "You can't just spring that on him.You'll give a guy a heart attack."
"Fuck me"
But fuck you look good, he swears he's not drooling, he had to lick his lips to make sure. His pants feeling tight.Stan thinks about it, a thought flashing through his mind about tearing that damn thing off as he let his fingers clutch the silky fabric.
And before you knew it, Stan had you pinned to the backseats of the car. The fabric bunched at your hips as you let your fingers grip the mans silver hair, his mouth latched onto your breast. Tongue swirling across the nipple as he thrusted his hips forward.
You were squished, legs wrapped around his lower back as the car windows started to fog.
A trail of saliva leaving the mans lips as he focused on your other breast wanting to give it the same treatment. You wanton cries leaving your lips, tears of pleasure pricking your eyes as your nails dug into Stan's back, clutching the fabric of his jacket tight.
"Stanley!"
Fuck did he love it when you called out his full name, his body shuddering.The sensation of you silken heat pulsing and fluttering was pure ecstasy, and he could feel the coil of heat in his belly tightening with each desperate thrust.
He was gonna have to go shopping after this.

Robby got to the dojo, and everyone was buzzing with excitement. The sekai takai was soon rolling in, and those who were going were gathering a few things. Hawk pulled him to the sparring deck where everyone was gathered. "Hey, he's here; we can finally open the box," Hawk said, grabbing a package knife and handing it to Miguel.
"So I may or may not have persuaded sensei Larusso to buy us team jackets for the sekai takai. I mean, who knows when we'll get this opportunity again, you know," he said, opening the box.
They all got their respective Miyagi-do jackets. "Thats fucking cool, letterman jackets. I never thought Id see the day I'd be happy for a jacket," Hawk continued on. "I mean it looks like sick Miguel.". *Robby sighed a little "it's nice I guess."
"Okay you want the jacket or complain about it?" Miguel asked as Robby took a look at his and admired it for a bit, then both sensei's appear. "Miguel thought you guys would want some team identification outside of your GI's, so he came up with the idea. I was questioning it but now I think it looks great" Daniel stated. "Pretty badass if you ask me, though it should have been black in my opinion, white gets dirty pretty quickly" Johnny said, patting Miguel's shoulder. "thanks man." Hawk put his jacket on.
Robby observed the jacket before putting it in his bag "I'll try it on later. don't wanna get it dirty too quickly" he says zipping his bag "Okay, enough with the jackets; we have to pack and get some last-minute training in," the sensei said, and they finished up what was needed to be done
Afterward, Robby got a ride from Miguel and Johnny. "So Robby, being captain, are you nervous for the competition?" Miguel asked, "Of course not. He's like an eagle waiting to devour the cobra. He's ready.".
Johnny said, entering the roadway close to where they live, "I am nervous. I won't lie. Being captain sounds difficult. You know high expectations, but I got it." At least he hoped, "Oh yeah, can you drop me off at y/n's, please? I just need to tell her about the flight and accommodations for the tournament and stuff."
Johnny proceeded to take him there, not second-guessing it. "You know, if you want 'quality time' with your girl before we leave in two days, you can just say so you know you can't cage the beast" Robby face palms himself. "Dad, can we not please?"
"Yeah, sensei, I second that; please stop." Miguel joined in, asking him to stop soon. They had packed up to y/n's home, and Robby got out of the car. "Thanks; I'll see you guys tomorrow." He took his bag, and the car drove off.
Robby knocks on the door, and soon his girlfriend was at the door. "Robby! I haven't seen you in a while." I embrace him. "hey y/n, sorry I've been busy preparing for the tournament" he let go of her and shut the door "come on I was actually gonna get to bed, I was calling a early night my mom has guests over, book club gossip never rests" I led him upstairs.
"Sorry for the mess; I've been busy lately," I say, kicking a few water bottles out the way. "It's fine; trust me, my room is worse." He sat on my bed. "so you flying out in two days, excited?" I ask him as I sit next to him "only if you promise to be there" he gently nudged me with his shoulder "I will, I spoke to my mom and everything, I'd never miss it" he pecked my lips.
"So you know, with the whole tournament coming up, apparently Miguel wanted us to have team jackets," he said, taking out the stuffed jacket from his bag, and I clapped my hands happily. "Let's see, please." I took the jacket and admired it.
"Woah, babe, this is awesome, may I?" He gives a nod with a smile, and I put the jacket on. I look in the mirror. "This is so cool; I wish I had one." He looked at and admired the jacket. "and it's girlfriend sized" I tease "you know you look really good in it, probably better than I would" He stood up and came behind me and wrapped his hands around my waist "you like it?" I nod looking back at the mirror.
He kissed my ear and whispered, "I love it on you too." He kissed down my neck. I let a slow breath out, "Slow down, Romeo, my mom has guests over." I turned to him and kissed his cheek walking past him before he pulled me close to him and put his hands on my waist.
"You can be quiet, right?" He kissed me. "My good girl can be quiet." I pushed him back gently. "Robby don't baite me in" I looked at him, my mind trying not to go to those places. "Why not?, every athlete needs some relaxation princess."
"You better not make me regret this." He sat on the bed and pulled me on top of him. He pulled me into a heated kiss. "Mhm"
I lifted his shirt and tossed it aside. I kissed him from his neck down his torso. I got up and undressed. "Just leave the jacket," he said, sitting up on his elbows. "You sure?" he nodded. I comply, leaving on my underwear and the jacket. He leaned back near the headboard and once again pulled me onto him. "Youre so fucking perfect, baby," he kissed me and grabbed my hips.
I moved his hands to my rear and sat up slightly and put my hand to his chest. I faced him before moving my hips against him. "fuck just like that babe, just like that, that's a good girl" I moan softly "oh baby I can feel how soaked you are, is that for me? Mh?"
He groans into her ear "Yes" I say breathless "yes" He stops the motion and I whine "why'd you stop?" He smiled and moved from the bed, to my arm chair in the corner "you said your mom's home last thing I want is everyone listening to the headboard hit the wall, come here" I went to him and straddled him.
He kisses all over my chest, my head slumped over his shoulder enjoying the sensation "Be a good girl and slide those panties to the side for me" I follow his command wanting him desperately now
He pumps his fingers slowly inside me, I moaned softly before he pulled them out "don't do that" he looked at her with a grin "do what?" "Tease me, don't tease me, please" he rubs over my clit "fuck Robby" I whine "just like that" he stopped once again turning her over, her back against his chest. He releases himself from his pants and grinds me on his cock as he slowly rubbed my clit.
"Mhm Robby" he rubs slightly faster and I moan. "Keep going, please keep going" And with ease he slipped into me, I pulse around his cock "oh you feel good, so fucking good" he stopped his hand on my clit and moved them both to hold my legs wider so I could feel him deep.
I moaned out as my head falls back into his chest and I feel my hands clench and unclench "Mhm, hmm Robby fuck" he groaned through clenched teeth "Don't make me fucking gag that pretty mouth princess, be quiet" he quickened his pace and coos "that's right take me deep in that pussy"
"yes yes yes" I chant on, his hand went over my mouth "my princess can't keep quiet" his pace turning brutal "Shh, we can't be to loud" he knew he was about to come so he stopped. "No no" I mumble through his hand as he put her back on the bed "keep them open" I look at him as as I watched his warm mouth connect with my pussy.
My hand immediately goes to his hair pushing him harder against myself *he looked up at me while continuing to eat me out, I bit my lip trying to control my sounds "fuck, fuck that feels good" both my hands go to his head and in grind against his mouth desperate to come.
"Just- mhh- Robby!" He replaced his mouth with his fast paced fingers as his mouth met mine to silence my moans, my stomach clenched as my legs tremble "Come for me come for me my good girl" I give in coming over his fingers, he withdrew them and smacked my cunt, he re-entered with no warning
The new found sensitivity feeling so good but too much, he thrusts urgently "I'm not done yet baby not until I come on those tits" I grip his arm tightly as I moan loudly before he kissed me once more "fuck I'm close" he carried on thrusting "mhm, fuck yeah princess you feel fucking amazing" he groaned before pulling out and jerking over my chest coming all over it.
He catches his breath for a bit, he looked down on me and rub his come all over my chest and stomach like lotion. "You did so good princesses" he kissed her "let's get you cleaned up and in bed okay" I nod "okay".
Aaaahhh don't Gimme that side eye, literally my first story and the first time I write smut, I'll definitely try to improve.

What if Robby ended up giving a whole bunch of his rings to Reader? And one day he finds out he has a set of matching ones, so he gives one to Reader and keeps one for himself.
So they now wear matching punk rings✨✨✨
That is so Robby-coded, I can't explain it exactly but I know he would do that.
Tumblr media
He probably has all of his rings in a little box. He stopped wearing them a while ago not long after he started doing karate. They started to get in the way after a while, even hurting his fingers when he trained. So he tucked them away in a tiny little box he keeps in one of his dresser drawers tucked under some clothes.
One day he's looking for a specific shirt. He wants to wear it to go out with Reader for a little date. He planned it over a week ago and he wanted to look good going out with her. His hand bumps into the wooden box and he pulls it out.
He thinks, why not take a look at some of his old rings? Opening it up he rummages through all of his old accessories. A few are gone as he had already given them to Reader to wear, which she did all the time. One of his skull rings he gifted her ended up on a silver necklace that she wear all the time.
It was kinda hot to see her wearing it, tucked into her cleavage. Dangling down when ever she bent over.
His mind his pulled away from the nice memories when his fingers find two oddly simpler pieces of metal. Looking them over he finds they are basically duplicates.
He wonders where he got them but is quick to shake it off.
They would be perfect! He could keep on and Reader could wear the other one. A great couples gift.
He ends up giving the ring to Reader while on their date. She thinks it's so sweet and won't stop telling Robby about it. She thinks he's so adorable for giving her such a thoughtful gift, even if he had already given her rings in the past.
But then he pulls out the second ring and shows her it before putting it on his own finger.
Cue Reader tearing up and kissing the poor shocked boy all over. His face is covred in kisses, his thick little girlfriend in his lap. She's giggling like a made man as she keeps kissing him. He can't help the huge smile that ends up on his lips.
Best idea for a gift ever.

Cobra Kai
TWO CAN PLAY THE GAME: Terry Silver x fem!reader
Tumblr media
Summary: She knew him from '85. She knew how he functioned, how he was thinking. She'd beat him with his own technique - she was sure of it.
Notes: English isn't my first language. I apologize for any mistakes I may have made while I wrote this short story.
Warnings: swearing
●●●
A man can't stand, he can't fight.
A man can't breathe, he can't fight.
A man can't see, he can't fight.
She was watching the fight between Eli and Kenny play out as she continued to think about those rules, repeating them like a mantra. Her nails were digging into her upper arms through the material of her shirt as she tried to calm herself down.
You did what you could, she told herself. Even if you had to do that behind the true senseis' backs.
Daniel would've never let her do that - the same with Chozen, even if he had a slightly different view on karate. And Johnny... well, if she does it with him and Daniel figures it out, it would've lead to another fight between the two. And she really didn't want that to happen.
Besides, the kids came to her for help - since hiding the fact that she had something going on with Silver in '85 was hard to do, especially with teens around like Sam LaRusso. They were curious to know what had happened in the 80s - but they were more interested in how they should fight and win.
She didn't want them to get hurt, or worse: to be disappointed with themselves.
Damn it, they were her fucking kids and she was going to help them one way or another.
So she had taught them a thing or two about Terry Silver, and what kind of methods he may have taught for those mislead, Cobra Kai-obsessed kids after he took over.
It was only fair, she had told herself so it would feel less like a betrayal - a very dangerous one. Since Robby told them everything about their defence.
"The Quicksilver method has three rules: A man can't stand, he can't fight. A man can't breathe, he can't fight. A man can't see, he can't fight." she had told them after they met up in the park after it got dark.
"Did he really name it after himself?"
She had just laughed and nodded. "He's full of ego and he's an asshole, what can I say... However, what matters is that you know the right defence! They will go after three key points: feet, chest, eyes. These are also the areas you'll look out for the most. Is that understood?"
She grinned as Eli jumped back just in time to get away from Kenny's fist, which went straight for his chest. Then, he went for his feet and his eyes.
"The technique he wanted to use is simple: get a point from a hit on the head but go for the nose. He won't be able to see from the tears." she had explained as she showed Eli where to hit. "This is a dirty move, sure. But it's not against the rules and if they want to fight dirty, then you gotta be ready to protect yourselves and each other."
"Point, Moskowitz!"
Daniel looked at her from the corner of his eyes, but she didn't care. She just gave Eli a proud nod and continued to look at Terry who seemed to slowly catch on.
One rule of the Quicksilver not working? It could be a coincidence. Eli could be too good. But using two rules of it on the enemy while she's around? That's planned. It's a personal attack.
Terry looked at her from the other side of the dojo and clenched his jaw. She just smiled.
Two can play this game...
She sometimes wondered if she really hated him that much - there were times when it wasn't too obvious... Then she remembered how he played around with her before he disappeared, how he completely broke down a fucking teen she was supposed to be looking out for...
He broke her fucking heart.
Terry Silver can go and rot in the hole he climbed out from with Kreese's help.
"Is everything alright, sensei?"
She looked at Sam, who gave her a knowing smile.
"I'm not a sensei."
"That's not true."
She just chuckled. "He seemed to catch on."
Sam looked at Silver, then back at her. "I still don't understand what you had seen in him."
She made sure Daniel was out of earshot before answering: "You should've seen him in the 80s." after a shared chuckle she gave the girl a gentle hit on the shoulder. "It doesn't matter. Just concentrate, okay? Use what your dad and Johnny taught you, but remember how they like to play..."
His stare was burning her from the inside out after Sam left and Eli's match continued.
And as his fingers clenched into a fist, as the muscles around his mouth and eyes hardened, he looked like the old him. The Terry Silver she had met in the 80s, who had managed to make her fall for him, who had managed to make her open up and finally be honest with somebody...
He had taken her to the dojo, he had taught her a thing or two and didn't ask for a price...
And it was a fake, all of it. The gentle touches, the dates... He was a liar, a con-man, a damn psycho and a rich asshole.
She didn't want to talk to him after the truth came out and after the All Valley he disappeared for decades.
What a shame that he was still good looking...
Eli seemed to be doing just fine. Awesome, to be honest. The kid understood the assignment and soon there was no man - no matter how much Terry paid him - who wouldn't have given him the last point... That kick was beautiful, perfect and it pissed Terry off even more.
"Point! Winner: Moskowitz!"
She clapped and pride made her chest feel full.
She smiled at Terry; her grin showing him all of her teeth. That was the last nail in the coffin - grinning like he did when he sent Mike after Daniel.
Sam's match was up and she stood tall from the confidence she had gained.
Even if Daniel was eyeing her suspiciously, even if Terry seemed ready to kill her, she stood her ground.
Her kids needed the damn support after all.
●●●
"It's good to know that our lessons weren't for nothing."
She felt the chill run through her whole body as she heard his voice, this time speaking directly to her.
She hated how intense of a reaction he could still get out of her, after all those years. But then again, Terry was one in a million. No one could make her feel the way he did.
Amanda always joked about how she very cleverly chose to be single; and Daniel liked to join in to say that he had never ever seen her in love before. Well, maybe he was just too blind and too young to see it.
"Oh please, we both know you always leave a lasting impression."
She turned around to look up at him, eye to eye ever since '85. He still had the same damn look in his eyes and she had to make herself remember to not be naïve.
Terry caught her first.
After the success of both Sam and Eli - and after it was announced that both dojos would participate at the Sekai Taikai (Johnny almost blew up from frustration) - Daniel tried to talk to her in private, but Johnny was faster. He just left to try the juice bar - because "if this son of a bitch with the pony tail got what he wanted, we can at least use his juice bar" - when Terry proved that he was faster than Daniel.
"And you fucking like it." she finished as she continued to look him in the eyes.
She felt Sam's eyes on her, but the girl thankfully did nothing to intervene.
"Don't talk to Silver. Don't even look at him if you don't have to." she had told them. "That's how he functions. He consumes information and he uses it against you. He sees an opportunity, he uses it for his gain."
"If I want to be honest I always knew you'd have the guts to use what I taught you - unlike LaRusso." his lips curled upwards into a smile. "Speaking of LaRusso; what did he say when you taught my method to his students?" he stayed quiet for a second so the question could sink in. "He knew about it, didn't he?"
She just chuckled.
"Get out of my head, Terry." she just said simply, not giving in to his game. "You can't play with me anymore when I know your game too well."
"That's why I like you."
She wanted to burn the damn butterflies in her stomach.
"Although I have to say I never would've thought that you'd care this much about karate. Or the Sekai Taikai."
"Believe me, I couldn't care less about karate or the Sekai Taikai or this 'who will win in the end fight' between you and Daniel..." she explained as Sam LaRusso continued to stare a hole into the side of her head. "But those kids deserved a damn chance against you."
Terry tilted his head, his lips formed a smile so wide she could see his teeth. His shoulders fell back and he seemed even taller when his eyes were shining that way: full of excitement. Through all that interest he seemed hurt - as if she just insulted his whole being. He seemed almost offended.
"Are you lying to me or are you lying to yourself?"
"Don't give him a damn opportunity!" she had told the kids as if it would be the most important rule. "Don't feed him information! Don't pique his interest!"
"Excuse me?"
"Who are you lying to?" he asked again as he leaned closer. "Because you are lying. You're not doing this for the kids. I mean you do care about them, I can believe that, but this isn't about them, is it?"
The frustration she couldn't hide seemed to entertain him a lot.
Then she took a deep breath. Don't let him win.
"In this case, we are both liars, aren't we?" Terry stayed quiet; waiting, listening. "Are you sure this is only about you and that dream of yours? Nothing to do with Daniel or '85, right?"
He seemed to like the challenge, and God damn her, she liked it too. She liked the unsaid, hidden threat what always lingered around when Terry was close by. And he liked her fight - she knew he did. If he didn't, she'd already be on the ground with a black eye or six feet under.
"Are you sure you want to talk about grudges?"
She just shrugged. "It's always great to remember the past, isn't it? So we don't make the same mistake twice."
"Mistakes?" he asked with a chuckle. "It depends on the point of view."
She raised an eyebrow.
"Don't let him play you. If you talk to him, he'll try, for sure. He'll give you something: a story, some info. Something you'd be interested in so he could reel you in and keep you where he wants you to be. But don't let that happen!"
"Really?"
"You don't agree?"
She bit her lower lip.
The bait was out, the trap was set. She shouldn't fall for it. She can't.
She learned long ago that she'd never know why he does the things he does, but she could understand how he thinks and what he uses to get what he wants.
She was a better player now, but was she strong enough?
She swallowed her curiousity.
Grudges. She still had hers. She nursed it for years and it became unbearable when he appeared again out of thin air.
But the past stays in the past. She learned from it, didn't she? She wouldn't make the same mistake again.
Instead of asking what she wanted to - Why Terry? Why did you date me? Why did you teach me? What did it mean to you at all? What did I mean at all? - she just chuckled.
"It's good to know the old you is back, Terry." she said with a smile. "I almost started to worry when I first saw you - I thought you weren't the same man. Good to know I was wrong. 'This' you? I can handle."
The conversation was over. She wanted it to be over so it would be.
She turned to look at Sam who was still looking at her like a warning sign ("use what you just taught us"), and Johnny who seemed to be done with the juice bar.
She took a step aside, then two -- and she was almost successful. Almost.
"Are you free tonight?" the charm in his voice was still present and she hated it. "We could have dinner together. For old times' sake. And I could provide the truth about '85 from my point of view."
She stopped and looked at Sam again. She was talking to Eli and the others, swimming in pride and happiness: the things she gave them by talking about Silver.
The bait worked, the trap caged her and she could feel him reel her in.
"I'll pick you up at seven."
She failed. How could she fail?
She decided to not ask how he knows where she lives. He already knows, of course he does...
She knew everything, yet learned nothing.
She let him win - again.

Hi I saw your khr dc crossover and it's great . Can u do one where it is in the same universe where the Mafia doesn't touch anything Gotham related with a 10 foot pole , skull is dick Grayson maybe taking a vacation and ending up with the acros. Then maybe his identity comes out renegade or Robbie Malone or agent 37 and the acrobaleno see the personality shift or something .
MMMM nice, i don't think it's exactly what you wanted but it's what came to mind so, here you go! I had fun with this so i miiiight be extending it idk
it got sort of long so i put it under a cut
Quick Synopsis: Dick Grayson is ready for a break, ready for some fun, ready to fuck up some human traffickers, and absolutely down to---was he in the fucking mafia?
Italy. A country with great food, great people, and some truly terrible sunlight. At least in Dick's opinion as a Gothamite. Seriously, there was sun everywhere and he was certain that if either Bruce or Tim took a step into the country, they'd spontaneously combust like the pasty vampires they were.
Thinking about it like that, it may be the reason Dick had been the one to go undercover in Italy than anyone else.
Oh, sure Bruce called it a "well-deserved vacation" and Damian needled him about "going on break while the rest of us must work continuously," but it was undercover work no matter how Dick looked at it. Dye your hair purple, get contacts, don a new name, create a half-new personality, and join a travelling circus that was most probably the front for a human trafficking organisation. What else could it be but undercover work?
He hummed as he ran a hand through his now-purple hair, twisting a lock between his fingers and tugging at it absently. In his other hand, he held the thick envelope carefully. It was old-fashioned and coloured like cream. It was even sealed with golden wax.
Dick had found it moments prior, when he'd noticed something distinctly off as soon as he'd entered his assigned caravan. The feeling was still there. Casually, still holding the envelope in a gloved hand, he backed up slowly to his bed and sat down. Dick held it up to eye level and, pretending to examine it a bit more, he slid his eyes over the caravan's interior.
Nothing looked like it'd been touched.
But then again, nothing ever really did if someone had planted bugs.
Were the circus onto him? This could end up being trouble. Depending on what had been planted, be it cameras or recording or even tiny little bombs, Dick could be in some deep fucking water.
He sighed and rolled his neck. Dick said to the envelope, voice pitched higher than would speak naturally, "The question now, I suppose, would be whether I risk opening you or throw you out."
On one hand, there could be all sorts of chemicals or magic or something entwined into the envelope. On the other hand, it could be really important.
"I would," a smooth voice said from behind him, "appreciate it if you chose to read it, Mr. de Mort."
Dick flinched and turned it into a twist and elbow-to-the-face movement. His elbow went through the intruder's face and Dick clocked three things in that instant.
The first: the intruder was a man, wearing a green-checkered pattern and silver domino.
The second: magic was obviously involved.
The third: this man knew him only as Skull de Mort, it seemed, and not Dick Grayson or Nightwing. That changed a few things.
Twist, elbow, and Skull de Mort would---scream.
"Who are you?!" Skull wailed. "How did you get into the great Skull's caravan?! Are you here to kill me?! I'm warning you, I took three years of karate!"
The intruder smiled indulgently, one leg crossed over the other and giving some serious creepy vibes.
"Quite the opposite, Mr. de Mort. I'm here to give you the opportunity of a lifetime." He uncrossed his legs and got up from the bed. "I plan to gather the very best, the strongest seven in the world to serve a grander purpose. You, Skull de Mort, just happen to be one of these best and strongest."
Oh, he was good. Whoever this guy was, he was really, really good. He'd obviously done a lot of research onto Dick's made-up background for Skull and doubled down on the false personality's easy acceptance of flattery and ego feeding. At the same time, this would be supremely easy and supremely difficult.
Someone who'd done their research was easier to fool; just like this man, they were so confident in their investigation that Dick was certain they wouldn't dig deeper. On the other hand, someone who'd done their research was infinitely harder to keep an act around. Discrepancies wouldn't be tolerated.
Skull shifted on his feet. He puffed out his chest and tossed back his head. "Well, that's---it's only natural you would acknowledge my abilities! Haha! Are you a fan, my good man? What's your name, I'll give you a personalised autograph!"
"No need," the man said. "And, ah, you may call me Checker Face."
"Eeeeeh? A pseudonym? How cool!" Skull gave Checker Face a double thumbs up. "Are you like a superhero?"
Checker Face twitched slightly and Dick zeroed in on it.
Oho. Now that was interesting.
"I suppose so. Now, you'll find all necessary information regarding the first meeting enclosed in the envelope. Do try and get there, Mr. de Mort. I eagerly await your grand entrance."
Skull blinked, and Checker Face vanished. He shrieked and whipped around this way and that, eyes wide and hands frantic.
"Magic!" he cried.
Dick Grayson traced the burner phone in his pocket discreetly. He may end up having to hand this case over to Tim.

Alrighty my dudes buckle up
GHOST RIDER D&D AU
also WOE. ART STYLE CHANGE BE UPON YE.
First things first thank you to my beloved mutual @moosemonstrous, who was basically the brains behind the operation I basically just wanted an excuse to draw tiefling Robbie and then got smacked in the face with an awesome story way beyond what I had ever thought of with KILLER fucking lore to match <3.
While I usually like to start with Robbie when introducing an AU, we're going to unfortunately have to start with Eli. A man who fucked up so monumentally that the kinda sorta god he's supposed to be serving went 'Bitch??? How about NO.' and humbled him faster than my DM can say 'roll perception'.
Ok I'm getting ahead of myself. Eli is pretty much the same personality wise as he is in canon. Insecure and desperate for power/control. He grew up surviving with Beto by doing jobs for the Myriad crime syndicate. Somewhere along the way he started serving his patron, Desirat, the twilight phoenix, in exchange for her power.
Im just going to directly quote what moose said about Desirat cause its phrased WONDERFULLY:
"Desirat, The Twilight Phoenix - companion and mount of Asmodeus during an ancient war, was torn from her master and captured by uppity mages. They were eventually killed, but she remained chained under a mountain, creating weird thermal phenomena in the area. Her sanity fractured in isolation so she thinks herself divine, and she lends through dreams and visions to those who 'carry a seed of fiery vengeance'. She now speaks to the minds of those who lie spurned and angry at night, calling them to unlock their inner flame and let Desirat aid them in their vengeance."
Desirat chose Eli as her champion to free her. She believed his faults would make him easy to manipulate for her purposes.
But eventually Beto wanted to settle down, and Eli refused to (to quote moose) 'Stop that warlock bullshit that EVERYONE SAID will get him in trouble'. And the brothers separate. During that time, Eli gets it in his head that he can steal more power from her by becoming a Litch. Great! In order to become a Litch he needs to have the most important person to him engage in a willing life sacrifice. Not great.
So he finds Beto and tries to get him to oblige to his sacrifice, and while there might have been a time where Beto might have laid down his life for his brother, he wont anymore. He has a family now. People who rely on him who AREN'T Eli. Unfortunatly, Eli is PISSED by this and kills Beto even though he isn't a willing sacrifice. Eli figures 'Whose really gonna care? A life is a life right?'
DESIRAT cares. She basically obliterates Eli on the spot and stores his lifeforce for later purposes.
(all stat sheets curtosy of the great Moose. Also I feel obligated to mention there was a scary moment during the art process where Eli looked like a beautiful butch lesbian. Horrifying.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After Eli's spiritual, physical, and magical bitch slap, Desirat starts looking down his bloodline for a NEW champion. Lucky her, Robbie is RIGHT THERE. Protective of his brother, a strong sense of justice even from a young age, a hatred of when things aren't fair; he's PERFECT. She has plans for this one. Eli was a good test run. But she has IMPROVEMENTS planned for Robbie.
So Desirat waits until Robbie is old enough and strong enough to serve her purposes. In that time, Julianna goes out adventuring to get more coin so she can pay for Gabe's treatments of Greater Restoration and just. General food and water and general supplies. But she doesn't come back. She was responsible though and hired someone who was willing to take what she could offer to take care of the boys. Gabe still believes that she's still out there and trying to come back to them. Robbie thinks she's either bailed on them for a life of adventure or dead.
Around when Robbie turns 18, Desirat puts her plans into effect. Seeing as tieflings carry innate magical abilities (most commonly thaumaturgy, hellish rebuke, and darkness) it would be far more advantageous for her champion to be a tiefling than human. In the span of about 4 months, Robbie goes through a rather drastic transformation.
His fingernails harden, then blacken, then sharpen. Awful pressure builds in his skull that is only relived when the beginnings of horns break through his skin. A similar process begins with a lump forming at his tail bone and eventually bursting out into a long pointed tail. His canine teeth fall out and grow back in sharper and longer. His eyes cloud over to black and yellow, all the while his skin reddens and forms hard ridges on his arms, ribs and spine.
To say this is disorienting and painful is an understatement. Not to mention how it changes how the other people around the village look at him (not to mention how it changes how he looks at himself). Even though the stigma around tieflings isn't as strong as it once was, it eventually causes Robbie to be out of a job. So he decides to sell the house, pack up his things, prepare schooling money for his brother and move to the city where more opportunities will hopefully await.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
GABE!!! THE LITTLE ADHGH. Idk why but I got extreme cute aggression when drawing this version of him fdjkslaf.
Gabe still has CP like he does in canon, but with the magical advantages of ✨Greater Restoration✨ he can generally function pretty well. He still gets tired sometimes though, so he carries around a walking staff as an aid just in case he needs one (also he can go whack whack. at least thats what Robbie tells him when he gets a little self conscious carrying it around).
Robbie has saved up enough money for Gabe to get a months worth of schooling at the Dawn Father Chantry in the city so he can learn to cast Greater Restoration on himself. Gabe's recent growth spurt has been causing him to need more and more frequent healings, and the Chantry in their home village of Hill Rock has been less and less obliging as of late (partially due to Robbies recent uh... condition. not that anyone would dare say it to his face of course).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some extra fun doodles with expressions and thinking about how Desirat might look and interact with Robbie. I love when gods have a kind of twisted love for their special chosen people (plus some fun transformation horror cause its ✨me✨ were talking about what did you expect).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also I really REALLY liked that top left sketch and got the rendering itch so I had some fun and painted it in.
Tumblr media
Theres a whole fuckin. Second post to this au all lined up cause Moose when HAM on this. But its gonna take some more character designs so I'll need just a little time. but this will not be the last you see of this lol I promise <3

Secret legacy pt. 2
Chapter 9
“This, is, awesome!” Robby cheered as he and Twitch soared through the trees. After prying the dead squirrel out of Twitch’s mouth, Twitch wanted to test out her new alt mode. Robby was a little nervous and was still mad about Twitch’s murder plan but he’ll give Twitch one last chance and it was worth it . Twitch dodged the tiny branches that blocked her path, soaring through like a skilled air fighter. Nothing was going to stop Robby and Twitch from having fun. Expect Robby getting smacked by a giant tree branch.
Robby tumbled on some branches before landing face first on the ground. Twitch came to Robby’s aid. Was he okay? Was he hurt? Was he dead?! Twitch’s thoughts spiraled like a tornado in her head. Then all of the sudden Robby started to laugh like this was a joke. Then, Twitch started to laugh. Robby was okay, and it was accident after all so what’s the -
“HOW DARE!”
A painful spike went through her body. Her joints lock like a statue.
“YOU HURT ONE OF MY CHOSEN ONES, YOU WILL PAY DEARLY.”
The pain slid down to her spark like a snake wrapped around its prey. Slowly squeezing the life out from its body. Twitch wanted to end. It felt like her body was on fire, melting, and freezing all at the same time. She wanted Robby to make it stop she wanted to cry.
“YOU WERE MADE TO OBEY, SO OBEY.”
Tumblr media
Robby watched in horror as Twitch collapsed on the ground, wheezing as if she was struggling to breathe. Robby ran to her trying to help. What could he even do? He can’t call for help because if he did, Twitch would be taken away. But he couldn’t leave Twitch here to suffer. Cybertronians don’t need oxygen to breathe right? They lived in space for millions of years. But Twitch wasn’t a Cybertronian, she was . . . Different. Robby noticed the sickening red glow coming from his sleeve. Robby looked back at Twitch then to his sleeve. Was his sleeve hurting Twitch?
“Stop hurting her!” Robby grabbed his sleeve as he yelled at it. “Please, stop!”
As if the sleeve heard his cries of mercy the glow faded away and so did Twitch’s pain.
Robby started to shake Twitch to see if she was okay. Twitch wasn’t moving.
“Twitch?” Robby shook Twitch a little hard.
Twitch still wasn’t moving.
Now Robby started to panic. He just had Twitch for a day and a few hours and now she’s gone. What should he do? What should he -
“Are you two alright?”
Robby jumped as scrambled to hide Twitch’s body. When he faced whoever had been talking. A man in a white lab coat with slick black hair. For a stranger, he looked so, friendly.
“Oh I’m so sorry for giving you a scare.” He said worried that Robby was going to run away. “You two looked hurt so I wanted to see if you two were okay.”
Robby wanted to believe him but thought still played in the back of his mind, was he doing in the woods? Was he watching them?
“W-Why were you in the woods?” Robby nervously asked standing between the man and Twitch.
“I like to take walks out here.” The man said.
Robby had a sneaking suspicion that he was lying but tried to remain calm.
“Well thank you for asking but I’m fine.” Robby nervously said. The man looked at him with doubt.
“What about your friend?” Robby looked down to see Twitch’s still unconscious body. Dang it! he forgot about her. Think Robby, think!
“I - um - found them like this.” The lie the slip through Robby’s teeth. Robby hoped that this stranger would fall for it. There was a long pause when Robby said that. Robby tried to read the man’s face but he was more worried about Twitch being taken away from him. Then the man finally spoke.
“Well, if you found them like this we should help them.” The man smiled. He started to walk closer to Robby. Robby tried to shield her from the man.
“Ah, where are my manners? My name is Doctor Meridian.” Meridian probably introduced himself to stop the tension between him and Robby.
“ I mostly work with cybertronian tech and bots alike. If your friend here needs help, I gladly help.”

Cobra Kai Season 6 PT 1
(discussion/rant???)
- seeing as i did a rant over cobra kai season 5 on here, it’s only fitting that i do the same for part one of season 6!
🐍- as only one half of the season has been released, it wouldn’t really be fair to form a stalemate opinion on what i’ve seen so far. i didn’t hate it, i didn’t dislike it, i didn’t love it - it was just fine. in my opinion, it didn’t have the same exciting vibe as the previous seasons, not sure what it was but it just felt like something was missing. i’m hoping part 2 will feel different.
pregnancy storyline - my opinion on this storyline has and will not change. i still find it unnecessary, i still find it predictable and i still believe the trope ruins any book or movie that it’s worked into. however, that being said, it’s been interesting to see johnny’s character development this season. he’s fully embracing the whole pregnancy and baby vibe and it is pretty sweet to see.
johnny - like i said, it’s been interesting to see johnny’s characters development this season. i really liked the version of johnny we got to see. he got a job!!, he and daniel worked well together (in brief moments), he was supportive of both robby and miguel and he encouraged and supported devon. it was nice to see him getting his life together.
kreese - he’s a wanted man. how did he manage to travel to two different countries? UNDETECTED????
mr miyagi - i was a little baffled by the mr miyagi storyline. it’s so great that they still include him and talk about him because he was such a vital character in the karate kid movies, but i’m not exactly sure where they plan on taking this storyline?? i wonder if maybe mr miyagi used to train/work with sensei kim’s grandfather? we obviously saw that he entered the Sekai Taikai tournament so maybe they entered together?
daniel - ugh he was low-key irritating. miyagi do is supposed to be a partnership between eagle fang and miyagi do, however it just seems like it’s purely miyagi do. i feel they could’ve merged the names and become miyagi fang? i get he wants peace but he was basically causing rifts with johnny for the most stupidest of things. hoping he does better in part 2.
tory - the way no one ran after her when she walked out of miyagi do?? not even robby, her boyfriend?? everyone knew her mum was the only family she had (besides her brother) so i cant believe they just left her to fend for herself and grieve alone. honestly i don’t blame her for joining cobra kai again. it’s hard to say whether she would’ve won the female captaincy if she stayed at miyagi do but she definitely would’ve ended up hurting sam during the fight. i loved the friendship she and sam were forming so hopefully she comes back to miyagi do and they become friends again.
hawk - no WAY did the former all valley male champion not get into the final six for the Sekai Taikai on default. i was so shocked when hawk didn’t get into the group automatically with tory, sam, miguel and robby. and then he only got a place because tory quit like whatttttt! he’s one of the strongest fighters in my opinion, miles better than devon and demetri.
demetri - irritating. never stopped yapping about MIT. thinks he’s the shit. i usually like him but not this season.
kyler- nice to see character development from kyler because he was an absolute prick in the other seasons. he’s still cringe but was cool to see him getting along with miguel and the others.
devon/kenny - devon was annoying, i get the Sekai Taikai is a once in a lifetime opportunity but practically begging for a spot isn’t a good look. she needs to believe in herself and needs to stop worrying about how good others are around her. and the cheating to get into the tournament! like if she can’t win fairly at the challenge to get into tournament, how is she gonna be decent at the tournament at all. kenny deserved that chance to go to the Sekai Taikai, he’s a much stronger and aggressive fighter and it would’ve been perfect for him to show his real potential. i can’t believe the writers made him shit himself and look like an idiot.
so overall, i liked the season so far but i wasn’t overly amazed with it. as always the karate fight scenes were amazing! and this is not hating on the show or the actors this is just me giving my opinion.
find my season 5 rant here :)

Random C3E113 bits and thoughts
The magic of editing on Sam's ad
"Silver Saddles"
Lionel being -possibly- a duck that was true polymorphed by Scanlan will never stop being funny
GOD DAMN THE COCONUTS ALA MONTY PYTHON FOR THE CENTAURS SOUND
Oh no, Percy and Vex conversation with Keyleth really got me
Old man Trinket!
"She's fenomenal at letting go"
Of course there's been conversations about Vex keeping Percy in the locket so he doesn't die of old age. The couple of all time those 2.
They remembered Junie and Wax! (Wax, damn it, I mean, if you have to find a way to shorten Wildhand'ildan)
Meat Man: Imports and Sexports
Cerkonos being Scanlan's biggest fan will never stop being funny. Bless Robbie for the way he took over the character and gave it a personality.
MAN, INCREDIBLE DICE ROLL. HAD IT BEEN CHETNEY, HE WOULD'VE DIED. THANKFULLY IT WAS GROG.
Of course Percy didn't wanted to leave Whitestone undefended, and also, had his doubts about sending troops with guns to fight
J'MON SA ORD MY BELOVED!
So the troops are arriving to the Malleus key basically in "Avengers: Endgame" final battle way.
FUCK YEAH, LIAM'S BACK AS LIEVE'TEL
I was waiting so much for the moment that Vex would break the news of Bertrand's death to Lieve'tel
I love how all these chucklefucks still behave as always among themselves, and then had to put their more regal faces when talking with Bells Hells or the rest of the world. And I know it's because there's a difference from them being player characters to Matt playing them as NPCs. Don't know if it was planned or not, but it certainly works.
"can you make the noise?"
Celestials!
FUCK SHIT UP
Man I hope we'll see one day this scene of the gathering of forces animated -and that they have enough budget to pull it through, cause there's a lot of characters here-.
Trinket <3
Amazing that Sam still has the old giant tankard
Look at you Essek (also, hilarious that Vox Machina has no clue who he is, even under disguise as Seth)
And Essek's brother is here too, aka, HOT BOY N°2
"I write poetry"; "That's fine"
"Keyleth, can you sign my tits?"
Oh the goodberries
XANDIS!!! I love that he now has to stuck around Vox Machina
Oh Lieve'tel, the silver bell was a memento from Bertrand
Don't remember where I read it, but it's amazing how Grog takes over Travis whenever he's playing it, a sight to behold
Oh how I've missed Scanlan's songs
Oh that map with all the minis is awesome. At this point it's gonna end up looking like a Warhammer map with all the minis.
Matt's gotta have a full box of minis just for Keyleth's transformations
Also, love the new Vox Machina minis
"There's some horse in this house"
The Krin Dinasty troops fighting remindes me of the elves at the beginning of The Fellowship of the Ring
NO MERCY PERCY!! Of course his first attack is a NAT 20, and also, of course his walking cane is a sword that's also a gun
That was the most Grog thing that could've happened
"3 headed white raven as a planar ally", Lieve'tel's not playing around
Nothing more on brand for Kiki than accidentally burning the Krin soldiers next to the Vanguard ones. But hey, fog of war
OPAL HAS ENTERED THE CHAT!
I wish Aimee had been there, but they might've need a bigger table for 10 people
Devo'ssa's new mini is so pretty
Grog's so OP that he made quick work of the vidulch almost as if was nothing. Gotta love high level barbarians.
Well, that was a great episode. I'm so glad to have Vox Machina back, at least for a couple of episodes.

If I Rescue You, Will You Rescue Me, Too? Part 4
We finally get to the concert part of all of this. And the start of The Plan.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
*
Steve was in such a hurry to get home and actually shower that he wasn’t watching where he was going and barreled straight into Wayne.
“Oh shit!” he said, bending down to help the man pick up all the books and papers that Steve had knocked to the ground.
“I’m sorry,” he murmured.
Wayne chuckled. “It’s all right, I’d be in a rush to get out of here to if it was me.”
Steve blushed. “The nurse told me that Eddie’s going to have the room to himself now.”
Wayne grinned. “He’d like that. Not having to share with anyone else. Not that he had a problem sharing with you.”
Steve scratched his cheek nervously. “I didn’t mind sharing with him, either.”
Wayne raised an eyebrow. “I would have thought with you used to having everything to yourself that sharing would have chaffed.”
He shrugged. “It gets lonely up in that big house all by myself.”
Wayne pursed his lips but left it alone.
Steve picked up the last paper and looked at it in confusion. “What’s this?” He handed the paper back to Wayne.
Wayne read the flyer. “Oh, it’s that concert Ed was saving up for.” He gave it back to him. “Looks like he won’t be able to go now.”
April 6th. “I mean he could, his doctor said a week if he’s lucky,” Steve murmured.
Wayne shook his head. “He didn’t have all the money to go. That’s why he was so willing to sell to that girl.”
Steve frowned. “That’s too bad.” He held up the flyer. “Do you mind if you I keep this?”
Wayne shook his head. “Go ahead. I don’t think he’d want the reminder that he can’t go now.”
Steve nodded. “I’ll probably be back to visit him later.”
Wayne squeezed his arm. “You do that. I think he’d like that.”
He blushed and went to the patient pick up where Nancy and Robin were waiting for him to take him home.
“Thanks, guys,” Steve mumbled as he slid into the front seat of the Wheelers car.
“You’re welcome,” Nancy said. “I’m just glad it wasn’t more serious.”
“That’s because I had a great nurse,” he teased.
Robin smacked the back of his head. “Why nurse and not doctor?”
“Ow! Robbie!” he protested. “Because doctors don’t do the actual work, nurses do that. Shit, dude.”
Robin paused for a moment. “Yeah, all right.”
Nancy giggled, but stopped when Steve glared at her. She pursed her lips to hide her smile, but Steve saw it anyway.
“What’s a guy got to do get some respect here?” he grumped, sliding down in his seat to sulk.
Even though he was mostly joking, it was something that did bother him. How many lives did he have to save? How many monsters did he have to kill? How many people did he have to protect to get people to see that he had grown since high school?
“Aww...” Robin teased. “We pick on you because we love you.”
He shrugged and grudgingly accepted it, but he was quiet all the ride home. Once Nancy had drove off and Robin had helped him up the stairs to his room, she asked, “Hey, what’s up? We were only teasing in the car.”
Steve shrugged. “It’s not that...” Robin raised a skeptical eyebrow and he sighed. “It’s not entirely about that. I mean it bothers me a little that people still treat me like we’re still in high school, but that’s not what’s upsetting me.”
He sat down on the bed while she rifled through his drawers for clean clothes.
“So what is the problem?” she asked, filing away the high school thing for later.
He pulled the flyer out of his pocket and handed it to her.
“Ozzy Osborne headlining Metallica?” she read out loud. “Wait...why does that sound so familiar?”
“Ozzy is who Eddie compared me to when I ripped that demobat in half,” Steve muttered, “and Metallica is the band that the song he played to distract the bats while we were going after Vecna.”
Robin sat down on the bed next to him. Hard. “Shit. He was going to go to this, wasn’t he?”
Steve nodded. “He was trying to scrape up enough money to go.”
Her eyes went wide. “Chrissy!”
He hung his head between his hunched shoulders. “I kept thinking all the way home about how it wasn’t fair he was dragged into this nightmare because he wanted to go to some concert.”
She took his hand and squeezed it tight. “I mean, even if we could get the money to buy a ticket for him, there’s no chance his doctors will let him go to a metal concert.”
“I know,” he mumbled, thumbing the ring on her hand. “But part of me wants to try anyway.”
“Go get your shower, dingus,” she said, helping him to his feet. “Maybe you’ll figure it out once your brain isn’t fried.”
Steve nodded and headed into the nearby bathroom. He turned the water as hot as he could stand. He hadn’t gone this long without showering in...well...if he was honest, only when the Upside Down happened.
He let the water wash over all his body. The bottom of the tub turned brown with dirt and dried blood. He couldn’t scrub but even getting the surface shit off his skin felt like sin. He washed his hair three times before he was satisfied that it was clean. He turned off the water and slid out of shower. He put on the clothes Robin had picked out for him.
It was just another sweater and pair of sweatpants. He put them on gratefully and stepped out to his room. Robin was still on his bed looking at the flyer.
“I think I might have an idea,” she said without looking up.
Steve chuckled. “I thought I was the one that was supposed to be thinking while I was in the shower.”
She waved him off and licked her lips slowly. “What if contacted the venue or band or whatever and told them that we had a huge fan that got hurt during the earthquake and would like to see them. We could get a couple of cheapo tickets and he could see them.”
“Who would go with him?” Steve asked, coming to sit next to her.
“You.”
He reared back. “No. Why–I can’t go. No. I don’t even listen to that kind of music. One of his actual friends or Dustin maybe.”
Robin shook her head. “It wouldn’t be fair for the other two boys if only one of them got to go. And for Dustin, he wouldn’t be able to help Eddie get around the venue.”
Steve gaped at her open-mouthed.
She bumped him with her shoulder. “And then there’s the fact you like like him.”
He tried to speak, but no words came out.
Robin raised an eyebrow. “You can’t even deny it.”
Steve hung his head. “I don’t even–I just...I don’t know!” He threw his arms in the air and abruptly stood up. He started pacing, running his fingers through his hair in frustration. “Do I like boys? Both? What if my entire sexuality is a lie? Was he flirting with me? But he was also telling me to get back together with Nancy. Which you were doing too, by the way.”
Robin opened her mouth and then closed it again. “Yeah, fair. But that was before you abandoned Nancy and I to finish off Vecna when you heard Dustin screaming Eddie’s name.”
“Why was he flirting with me if he wanted me to get back with Nancy?” he asked again. “Because if he was interested why throw Nance at me? Or if he wanted me to get back with her why did he flirt with me? It’s messing with my head, Robs!”
She stood up and grabbed his arms to steer him back onto the bed. “Let me explain something to you as the resident queer. I think the Nancy thing was seeing if you were interested in her and if you weren’t then he could admit he liked you. To test the waters so to speak. I was doing the same thing only about Nancy.”
Steve looked up at her blankly. Robin waited for the lights to come on and he mouthed, “oh.”
“Yeah, oh.”
“Too bad Nancy is happy with Jonathan,” Steve murmured.
“You’re missing the point, dingus,” she said softly. “He wanted to make sure that you were interested in boys before he put the moves on you. Only you had the weirdest reaction.”
Steve blinked, furrowing his brow. “I don’t understand.”
“Most straight guys would have pushed him away,” Robin said. “Only you didn’t, at least not violently. But you also didn’t flirt back. You acted confused.”
“I was confused,” he whined. “Still am if I’m honest.”
“Which is fine,” Robin said holding up her hands. “Finding out you aren’t as straight as you thought is absolutely terrifying. I can’t even imagine what you must be going through right now. I always knew I liked girls. This must be like a bombing dropping on you.”
“Or a demogorgon,” he muttered darkly.
“Or one of those, definitely,” she agreed. “But the point is that your reaction wasn’t what he expecting so he had to try other avenues to see if you were interested. Hence the Nancy test.” She spread her fingers wide to emphasize her point.
“Oh.” He threw his head back and rubbed his hands over his face. “I failed, didn’t I?”
“No, no,” she murmured. “Results were inconclusive. However if you do this for him...”
“He’ll know how I feel about him?” Steve asked, hopeful.
“Right in one.”

slippery slope
for @beetlepassing @cksecretsanta
summary: johnny and robby have very different experiences regarding snow. on a snowy tournament trip, johnny has to face his fear. if only either of them knew how to ski.
A/N: psa i haven't written for a long time (major writer's block and lack of time) but this was so fun to write! it's a little bit angsty but i hope the happy ending payout worked out well. i hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
If there were only one major difference between Robby Keene and his father, it would have to be their opinions on the snow. Johnny loathed it; the way it stuck to his beat-down shoes, the cold slickness, and the heaviness of it all. Robby enjoyed the chill in the air and the way it fell so quiet. Of course, it rarely snowed in California.
Johnny, however, remembered the annual Christmas trips he endured with his mother in various wintery states. Resorts where he stayed inside while his mom drank or spent her days with his step-father, neglecting the so-called “family bonding” she planned the trips out to be. They encouraged him to go skiing (never mind that he hadn’t before) or “make friends for himself.” After years of sitting in their shitty hotel rooms, he decided this was the year he was going to go. And so he did, renting skis with his pocket change and venturing up the slopes. And because Johnny Lawrence wasn’t a wuss, he went to the black diamond.
He didn’t remember much of the accident - mostly just that there had been one. Somewhere he turned wrong, or somewhere he went off a cliff, or somewhere he hit a tree. He wasn’t quite sure. He did remember lying in the snow with numb limbs, shivering from the cold and pain, and waiting for his mom to find him. She was coming, she had to be. The weight of the snow he was stuck in felt impossible to move from. He waited until the sky went dark and he could barely move when he realized nobody was coming. Johnny had faced death numerous times, and maybe it was the chill in the air or the stupidity of it all, but that was the one that stuck with him the most. Using everything he had left, he got to his knees and trekked down the rest of the hill at an excruciatingly slow pace. With tears in his eyes and blood on his legs, he made it.
Before he could lock himself in the bathroom (in hopes that his mom or Sid didn’t see), he was stopped by a woman in the lobby who saw the state he was in and called an ambulance. His mom was pissed, but not more than Sid was. The man held it over him ever since in detail Johnny had blocked out for so many years. The trips stopped after that year and Johnny’s hospital bills were to blame.
Robby, on the other hand, saw the snow as peace. His mom took him on trips similar to Johnny’s whenever she was invited by a man wealthier than they could dream of. When the men found out she was bringing her kid, they started changing their minds. As a last resort, Shannon said she was simply his nanny. This lowered the pressure and shame of being a single mother, and Robby tried not to think about that too much.
He was a quiet, introspective child. On these trips, watching the snow was the one thing that got him through. Whether inside or out, he sat and watched in wonder. Every flake was unique and he found himself creating stories for them. Many hours of his were spent fascinated by the calmness of something as simple as a frozen water drop. He found most of his peace within the fluffy, mysterious white snow he always missed when they returned.
Johnny never wanted to revisit the cold climates, but Robby longed for it. When Daniel signed them up for a tournament in Aspen, the kids' excitement ultimately trumped Johnny’s resentment. And, because Johnny wasn’t a quitter, he followed suit.
With the tournament committee’s help combined with Daniel’s, they ended up at an all-exclusive convention center-turned-ski-resort. Johnny had one goal for the weekend: stay inside at all costs. Daniel and the kids had other plans.
The tournament went well. They won first over all with no surprise appearances from Cobra Kai or other enemies. It felt weird, but it was almost like they were a normal dojo again. Karate wars settled (at least for now) and hearts happy. Miguel and Robby were getting along fine; Tory and Sam were fixing things. If it weren’t for his paralyzing fear, even Johnny would have been relaxed.
On their last day, the four kids lined up in the lobby decked in winter gear. Johnny turned around from his midday drink at the bar and held his tongue at the sight.
“You aren’t going to join us on the slopes?” Daniel mocked, piling on thick layers of gear.
Johnny grimaced. “No, you guys go ahead. I’ve got a headache.” It wasn’t entirely a lie. Leading up to the trip, he felt his head throb every time he thought of it.
Daniel threw him a skeptical look. “If you say so, John.” The group started for the doors, but Robby hung back.
“You sure, Dad?” he asked.
Johnny waved him off. “Yeah, probably gonna go lay down or something. I’m fine.”
“Okay,” Robby agreed. “Just checking.” He ran to catch up to them, heading towards the girls. Johnny took one last swig of his drink and watched them go, preparing for a long, peaceful nap. A twinge of guilt pulled at his chest as they walked through the fresh fallen snow. Putting it off as heart burn, he turned to the hallway and to his room.
When Johnny woke up to someone trying to knock down his door, the daylight was long gone. He groaned, hoping whoever it was would go away. He was less than a day away from being back in sunny California. He could be a Scrooge if he wanted to.
“Johnny!” The knocking continued; Daniel’s muffled voice cussing him out through the thin hotel walls. Johnny rolled his eyes and lifted the covers. With his eyes half-shut, he opened the door.
“Larusso, this better be important.” He slowly adjusted his eyes to the light, finally revealing Daniel’s worried expression. His stomach lurched. “What is it?” His voice shook, sobering.
Daniel sighed, seemingly out of breath. “It started snowing and… ah, God, we got separated and…”
“And?”
“We can’t find Robby.” And just like that, Johnny’s last sense of peace vanished.
“Holy shit,” he whispered.
“I’m sorry, John.”
“Holy shit.”
“He’s a smart kid.”
“I gotta go.” Johnny pushed past Daniel, starting for the doors.
Daniel called after him. “Jacket? Boots?” He stopped, turned around, and to his surprise, Daniel already was holding what he needed. He threw them on, softly muttering a thanks, and headed outside.
A blast of cold hit him immediately. Flurries started spiraling around him and he could picture himself stumbling down the hill in similar conditions. Daniel was right - Robby was a smart kid. However, that also meant he would have been back already if he was okay. Johnny considered puking, barely a few feet from the door he came out of. Go, he urged himself. He had no clue where he was going or what his plan was. All he knew was that he had to go find his kid, and he at least had luck with that in the past. Johnny eyed the towering ski hills. “Alright bud, where the hell would you be?” he whispered to the wind. With snow in his eyes and a chill in his heart, he began trudging up the hill.
Every second reminded him of his past. It seemed to be a recurring theme in his life that he wished he could escape. Before Kreese took ahold of his life, when he was supposed to “enjoy his youth,” he was stuck injured and alone. He could imagine Robby, lost and hurt, too, and somehow that hurt worse.
He was making progress, despite tripping over his feet and cursing at the cold for freezing his ass off. He was halfway up the tallest hill after what felt like forever when he realized one thing he could do.
On the very rare occasion that Johnny saw his son in his youth, they often played hide and seek. Johnny, being the deadbeat (probably still drunk from the night before) father, would get lazy, creating a whistle in true ‘marco polo’ fashion. He had absolutely no idea if Robby remembered it, let alone how he thought of it himself, but anything was worth a shot. He let out a low whistle. Once, then twice. No response, and Johnny thought for sure he was an idiot for trying. After attempting once more, Johnny fell back into the snow and sat.
Then, a whistle of wind. Once, then twice. Johnny recognized that sound: picturing a little kid in a soccer jersey and round glasses. He scrambled to get to his feet, repeating his first call. Call and response. Call and response. Johnny followed the sound, trudging towards the woods when he spotted a familiar navy blue jacket. He flung himself on the ground next to him, trying not to think too much about how cold it was or how long he was lying like this.
“Dad?” Robby’s voice trembled in a soft tone.
“I’m right here, Robby.” Johnny brought his gloved hand to the back of Robby’s helmet and started to analyze the situation. His bad knee was bent backwards and tangled with a tree limb. A familiar streak of red traced the snow around his head, and Johnny felt his head rush with panic.
“I - I don’t know what happened. I just… couldn’t get up,” Robby explained under his breath. As much as Johnny wanted to assure him that everything was fine, another twinge of guilt-striken panic hit him and he couldn’t breathe. His grip loosened behind Robby’s head as he began to shake. “Are.. are you okay?” He tried opening his mouth to respond, but no sound came out. “Hey, I’m fine,” he whispered. “I’ll be fine. It’s just snow.”
Suddenly, he could feel the weight crushing his legs all those years ago and his numb body and mind. The hope, the distrust, the shame. It all came rushing back as he looked down at his son.
“I’m… sorry,” he managed.
“What? Why would you be sorry?” Once again, he couldn’t bring himself to answer. “You found me anyway,” Robby continued. And then it struck Johnny: his mom never came, but he did. He would never receive a great parent award, but it had to prove something… right?
“Yeah… yeah, you’re right,” he breathed out. “Let’s get you out of here.” Focusing his energy back onto Robby, he began lifting the branches and piles of snow away from his legs. He grabbed the bad leg gently and shifted it toward himself. Robby barely flinched. “Don’t worry, it’ll hurt later. The cold numbs it real good,” Johnny explained nonchalantly.
Robby scrunched up his face. “How would you know? I thought you’ve never even seen snow.”
Johnny sighed heavily. It was better to explain now than never. “I have, unfortunately. Ma used to bring me places like this and my dumbass went skiing without knowing how. I had an accident and… it was pathetic.”
“Wait, what?”
“Broken legs, concussions, some stitches. Ma and Sid were pissed when I got sent out in an ambulance. Not that Sid couldn’t afford it, that selfish asshole.” Johnny looked back down at Robby, who wore an expression he couldn’t describe.
“What? Is that why… why you were blanking out?” He nodded and Robby considered this. “Did they not look for you?”
“Uh… no. They didn’t. I had to find a way out myself.” Just like he did his entire life.
“I’m sorry, I can’t believe that. For whatever it’s worth, I’m glad you came for me. I mean, I could barely step foot into the school after everything with Miguel. I can’t imagine coming back like this.” A small smile formed on Johnny’s lips. Maybe he could turn things around for himself. He didn’t have to stay stuck in his past. He finally had a relationship with his kid, his karate enemy, and had people in his life who actually cared about him. This was new, and it was different.
“Thank you, Robby.”
“Now… can you get me up?” He laughed, and Johnny hoped that he would remember this moment after the delirium faded. He obliged, of course, and helped him. Holding him upright, they began the trek down the hill very cautiously. Dislocated knee or not, if Johnny could do it, Robby could, too.
“I’m shocked you remembered that whistle,” Robby commented, his teeth chattering between phrases.
“I didn’t even think you would. You know, you’re way stronger than me, kid,” Johnny remarked.
“If you say so.”
“What do you say we plan a ski trip next winter?” he joked.
“I’d say I hope you’re kidding.”
“We can break ourselves together this time.” The pair laughed, swaying in the thick snow and leaning over each other. And Johnny realized, as they staggered down the hill, that maybe the snow wasn’t too bad. Maybe Robby had it right all this time: with snow could come peace.

Okay so for Robbie (Ghost Rider) x Reader, I was thinking where the reader was going after the Watchdogs and the reader got hurt in the process where Robbie see her and then they got into a slight argument where it is dangerous to go after the Watchdogs.
So a slight angst but fluff at the end. It’s fine that you don’t want to do this one.

Ok, I really fucked up this time. I had gotten some intel that a higher up member of the Watchdogs that I’ve been trying to find for months was meeting a weapons dealer in a warehouse across town. I probably should’ve planned this better, but it was last minute and I couldn’t wait.
Which may cost me my life.
As I stare down the barrel of the gun pointed directly at my face, a man with a mask yelling at me to tell them who I work for, I find myself thinking of only him. Robbie Reyes. My Robbie, the love of my life. I should’ve listened to him when he told me to back down from chasing the Watchdogs, but I was so close. And here I am, about to die for nothing. I wish I could see Robbie one last time. I screw my eyes shut, waiting for the end.
And then screams erupt from all around me, the sounds of people flying and hitting the various shelves and barrels stacked around, smacking against the floor. And the smell. Burning flesh as the screams are silenced one by one, the gunshots that had been going off slowing to a stop, the shells clinking to the cold, hard floor. I crack an eye open, already knowing who I’d see when my eyesight adjusts. A man with a flaming skull head approaches me, tossing a thick chain over his shoulder. He kneels in front of me, his dark eye sockets boring into my own eyes as the flames disappear and Robbie appears, grunting and shaking his head as his skin grows back, his deep eyes the last things I see before I black out.
—----
When I wake, I’m in his room, Robbie sitting next to me on the bed, checking over the bandages placed over various places on my body.
“How long was I out?” I croak, suddenly needing a glass of water.
“A day or so. Doc checked you out. Slight internal bruising and a shit ton of external ones.”
I try to move and gasp at the pain. “Fuck you slight.”
“Why were you there?”
“You know why.”
“I told you not to go.”
I sigh. “I was so close, Robbie. I had to try-”
“No! You didn’t! You almost died today.”
“But I didn’t!”
He gets up, pacing the room like he does when he’s angry. “But you almost did! And where would that have left Gabe? Where would that have left me?”
“I…what does it matter? I’m trying to protect you both from them!”
Robbie slams his fist on his dresser and I jump at the sound. “I told you, I can take care of them!”
“But-”
He walks over to me, sitting on the bed directly in front of me. “No buts. I can take care of them but what I can’t do is lose you. I…I wouldn’t be half the man I am without you. I love you, chica. Isn’t that enough?”
Tears stream from my eyes and I suck in some air at the pain. “You are enough, Robbie. I just.. I didn’t want you to think I wasn’t useful.”
His eyes soften. “Not useful? Chica, you save my life every day by just being with me. I have no idea what I’ve done to deserve you, but I know I can’t live without you.”
“I love you too, Robbie.”
He cups my face, careful to not upset the bruising and scrapes littered across it. His eyes catch my gaze and I can feel the love pouring from him. “Can you promise me you’ll stop chasing them? If you hear something, you’ll tell me and I’ll- we’ll handle it?”
By we he meant the Rider and him and honestly, after nearly dying, this is an easy answer.
“Of course. I promise.”
“Thank you, chica.”
He cuddles in next to me, careful to avoid hurting me as I snuggle in next to him,  hand in his chest as I feel his heart beat and feel incredibly lucky to have him in my life.

Chapter 32 (Mastermind)—MOTA Fic
Tumblr media
A/N: And the chapter you've been eagerly waiting for has finally arrived haha! I sincerely hope that you enjoy this chapter. Please note that I did research on this chapter and tried to make said makeshift wedding as accurate as possible—but seeing as I am not Jewish, I also am aware that there may be inaccuracies. Thank you and enjoy!
Of all the things Ruth Sharpe was certain that the end of the war would bring, her elopement at the hands of her Uncle Yosef was most definitely not on that list.  In fact, the mere suggestion nearly sent her into a downward spiral—and Robby seemed to be acutely aware of that fact as he whisked her away to quietly talk that same night.  After all, the matter really was just between the two of them and no one else.
It took some real dedication to find a quiet spot where the two of them could just talk, given the festivities that the end of the war had brought.  And further given the fact that everyone was going to be up until at least the morning, it would have been surprising to find anywhere that was truly unoccupied.
So they made do with sneaking away to one of the planes and climbing up inside of it.  It was a hassle, given her dress and attempting to get her up into the thing—but once she was up there, she could appreciate that this man-made contraption had somehow kept the love of her life and Abe alive for the entirety of the war.
Still, Ruth was struck by the fact that it was impossibly small in the area.  It caused a certain sort of claustrophobia as she looked around the plane.  “I can’t believe you guys spent so much time in these things,” Ruth admitted quietly, placing her hand on a dent in the wall of the plane.
“I don’t plan on being in these hunks of junk for too much longer,” Robby admitted in a reassuring tone.
Even in the dark of the night with the moonlight seeping through and the occasional bursts of colors from the fireworks, Ruth could feel his gaze on her.  It was a steadying force, like the beat of a drum keeping the beat of a band.  Ruth sank slowly onto the ground, considering his words for a long minute.
A warmth bloomed against her side as Robby sank to sit beside her.  “I know this kinda stuff scares you.  You don’t have to pretend with me,” Robby added.
In the depth of her heart, Ruth felt a small flicker of relief.  The simple fact of the matter was that something as serious as this was—it did scare her.  And not just because it would be her second attempt down the aisle, but because it was with Robby.  And she didn’t want to screw things up with him in any sort of way, shape, or form.
Maybe it was just bad luck or the way that her life had thus shaped so far.  But for whatever reason, Ruth was certain that things just wouldn’t work out.  That if they were married, he would find some reason or rhyme to hate her and it would be her fault.  Why ruin a good thing?  Especially when the good thing was shaping up to make them both really happy.
Slowly, Ruth nodded her head.  “It’s not you that scares me.”
Robby silently entwined his hand in hers, tracing over the lines on her palms with his fingers.  Every touch and stroke seemed to send lightning jolting through her system.  “So what does scare you about it?”
“That—that—” Ruth just let out a huff of air.  “That if we do it, then things will suddenly fall apart.  I don’t have good luck when it comes to relationships anyhow. I just don’t want you to suddenly hate me for not—for not being the type of wife that you deserve.”
“And what kind of wife do you think that I deserve?”
Ruth nearly snorted at his disbelieving tone.  “One who doesn’t argue with you.  One who—who can give you children, can give you the sort of home life that you want to have one day.  One who won’t compete with you for work.”
At that, Robby did in fact snort.  “First off—you argue because you’re fighting with and for me.  Not because you want to hurt me.”
“Well, yes—but—”
“Second, I don’t care if you can have kids or not.  I’ve known since I was a kid that you were gonna be it for me, Ruthie.  It’s always been you and me and it’s always gonna be you and me.  If there’s a family to make later on, then we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.  And home life?  Working with you?  That’s just fun.”
Ruth’s eyes snapped onto Robby’s figure.  “You really do mean that, don’t you?”
“Well of course I do.  I tend to be the truthful one out of the two of us, now don’t I?”
“Funny,” Ruth said, shaking her head with a slight smile. “You really want to marry me?”
“If that’s what you want.  And if all you want is for us to just be…this—whatever the hell this is—then I’m good with that too.”
“Awfully progressive of you, Robby,” Ruth murmured, thoughts floating around in her mind.  “But as it so happens, I…I also want to be married to you.  But we simplify the hell out of the marriage ceremony and we are NOT having one when we make it back to the states.”
A slight laugh spilled from Robby’s lips.  “You just don’t want to deal with your mother again.”
“She was awful during Alice and Sarah’s weddings—I can only imagine what she would be like during ours.”
“Then in that case,” Robby said, leaning forward and pressing a gentle kiss against her lips.  “Should we put together a wedding?”
“I believe that sounds wonderful,” Ruth replied, grinning against the kiss.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Late May 1945
Dressed in a pale blue dress (it was the closest thing she was going to get to white on such short notice), Ruth Sharpe just adjusted the strands of her hair that had fallen around her face.  With Liesel and Sveta at her side, she had at least some of her mother’s side of the family to walk her down the aisle.
She wasn’t truthfully sure how they had convinced everyone on Thorpe Abbotts to get in on the whole wedding—though she suspected that Abe and his endearing little doe-eyes had a part to play in that entire manipulation.  It had taken a whole two days to pull together the wedding in the simplest of terms, which was to say that they were missing a lot of the actual materials needed.
Considering there was no wedding dress, no chuppa, and everyone was already gathered, Ruth supposed she would take what she could get before she and Robby shipped back over to Germany for the trials and for her to begin her work with the Jewish families of Europe.
The Ketubah was quietly signed first thing in the morning of May 27th—an official wedding license for both Ruth and Robby that was simply a precursor to the actual wedding.  She wouldn’t get a ring until the ring exchange later during the ceremony, but for all intents and purposes, Ruth Sharpe was now Ruth Rosenthal.  Though she had never particularly liked the thought of changing her last name in any capacity, she found a small amount of satisfaction and pride in the fact that they were simply one—and they would always be one another’s.
So here she was, about to glide down the aisle in what she could only describe as something straight out of a dream.  None of this felt real.  Not the fact that she was marrying Robby Rosenthal, not the fact that her uncle was the Rabbi performing the marriage, none of it.  She never could have guessed that when she decided to join the JAG-Corp and help with the war efforts, it would have led here.
Abe had convinced a few of the guys to create a small path in the woods, where some overarching trees would serve as an arch.  Ruth glanced ahead into the little clearing at the group that had gathered.  “Feeling nervous?” Liesel questioned, tugging on her arm.
A smile swept over Ruth’s features.  “A little.  Mostly surprised is all,” she reassured her.  “Now shall we?”
With Liesel and Sveta on her arms, Ruth was escorted down the aisle and towards a waiting Robert Rosenthal.  He was in his dress uniform—really the only thing he could pull together on short notice either—and had a grin to match the heavens itself as his eyes met hers.
Suddenly, in Ruth’s mind, nothing mattered.  Not the fact that a lot of their friends were here and had gathered for the wedding.  Not that only half of her family was here and no one from his family was here.  It was just about the two of them—and she wondered if she could have had this all along, had she just given up her pride and been less of a cold front at all times.
The processional circling came next—and when then was done, Uncle Yosef got to talking.  But to Ruth Sharpe, none of it mattered.  Her gaze did not falter and did not leave Robert Rosenthal’s gaze.  She had always wanted to marry a good man.  It was fortunate that Ruth had once joked that the man she dated or married would be someone who had good morals and dealt several blows to Hitler during the war.  It only figured that Robby would be the one to fly 52 missions.
Robby’s eyes twinkled with some sort of gleam in them—and it was one that warmed her all the way down to her toes.  They were done pushing one another away, they were done lying to everyone (including themselves), and they were finally accepting what destiny had had in mind for them this entire time.  Or rather, Abe Sharpe and his mastermind little brain.
She hardly noticed the fact that Uncle Yosef had moved on to the blessing of the wine and had moved straight into the seven blessings.  Both Ruth and Robby had opted to replace the blessings with wishes instead—that way that they could make this entire thing their own.  And considering it was in a field in an airfield base, it was very uniquely theirs.
That being said, Abe was the first one to read his wish.  He had a grin plastered onto his face as he rose, also dressed in his dress uniform.  “My wish for my dearest sister and soon-to-be-brother is that the two of you will always find joy—joy in fighting with each other for righteous causes, joy in fighting with one another for each other, and joy in the forgiveness of the fighting.”
A slight nudge to Ruth’s arm brought her gaze back onto Robby.  He had a knowing look in his eye—and they both knew that the rest of their lives was going to be full of many arguments of different kinds.  It was just in their nature.  It wouldn't be them if they weren’t finding a way to argue about something.
He leaned forward, mustache almost tickling at her ear.  “You’re the only person I want to argue with for the rest of my life,” he murmured.
Ruth beamed at him.  She didn’t get a chance to respond as Harry Crosby—the second person they had chosen for wishes—stood up.  “My wish for the happy couple is that they can always find laughter together.  Life is full of ups and downs and so is marriage.  But if you can find laughter and joy together, then the bad things won’t seem as bad.”
Liesel was the next person to grin and take her place with the wishes.  “My wish for my dear Ruth and friend Robby is that they will always have enough food on their table, enough room in their hearts for other people, and that the Lord will preserve them in His kindness.”
Jack Kidd took over the next wish, with a slight deadpan expression and annoyance on his face.  “My wish—though I really just wished these two would work things out and they did—is that the two of you will always put each other first.  When you two work against one another, it’s hell.  But when the two of you work together, nothing can stand in your way.  Not the front-lines, not distance, not a war—nothing.”
Her brother John was the next one to stand, a knowing expression on his face as he looked at them.  “You know, Abe always used to say that you two were a match made in heaven.  I’m starting to see what he was talking about.  It’s a happy day….and my wish for the two of you is that together you will build something long-lasting.  That people will remember and cherish.  That people will look up to.”
Pappy rose next, beaming at everyone.  “My wish for my dear friend and the love of his life is that you two will always have good health.  That you will have a desire to communicate with one another and that as you strive to be close together, things will work out for your good.”
The last wish, Ruth wasn’t sure how this particular figure had finagled things.  But Bucky Egan got to his feet, a shit-eating grin plastered on his face.  “Well, well, well—I always knew you were gonna surprise me, Sharpe.  So I’ve got a few wishes for the two of you.  That as you two annoy the hell out of each other in this marriage, you can find peace together too.  That you can push one another to be the best.  And that you can finally relax, please—for the love of God, Ruthie.”
Laughter spilled across the crowd and then it was time for the exchanging of rings.  It went by faster than Ruth could have even processed.  But the minute that the ring was on her finger, Ruth felt nothing but relief.  For the first time in her life, Ruth felt as though things were finally right.  Like she was doing exactly what she needed to be doing.  Like everything was going to work out.
So when Uncle Yosef handed them the glass of wine and the two of them shattered it, Ruth was certain she had never smiled so much in her entire life.  “You are now wed,” Uncle Yosef’s voice sounded in her ears, though it sounded a million miles away.  “You may now kiss—and we will all wish you Mazel Tov!”
Though the kiss they shared was not one of passion like the other kisses they had snuck along the way, this kiss was the one that meant the most to Ruth.  She was held tenderly and lovingly and she clung to Robby as though he was the daylight after a long night of storms and darkness.  And when they finally pulled apart and the two of them were grinning like little kids—Ruth knew that their future was indeed going to be bright.
Bee makes a hum of acknowledgment turning his head to face her/him/them, “ I’m worried” Y/N says. “ About what?” Bee questions, “ GHOST” Y/N explains. “ Why? Did something happen?” Bee asks, “ Not exactly. But I’ve noticed they’ve been getting more and more secretive lately. Like there’s something they don’t want us seeing” Y/N says “ I don’t have any proof but I can’t shake this feeling that they’re up to something bad. Even Optimus doesn’t seem to trust them completely, I mean they aren’t allowed anywhere Tele-traan 1 and he is very careful about who he picks to work with them”.
“ Now that you mention it, I’ve noticed the same thing” Bee agrees. “ And now that Megatron has joined us- the war is nearly over. Something tells me is won’t be in my favor to be a techno organic that isn’t under their thumb” Y/N says, Bee gets a sad look on his face before taking Y/N’s hand. “ Are you saying you’re thinking of leaving?” Bee asks, “ It’s either that or I might end up like the Decepticons they plan to lock up. I’ll stay until the war is over…. But the second it ends I have to disappear. And you should think about doing the same” Y/N says. A look of pure heart break flashes across Bee’s optics which causes a lump to form in Y/N’s throat, “ Bee” Y/N says giving his hand a squeeze “ We’ll see each other again. I promise”. Bee gives her/him/them a sad smile and nods, the two slowly get to their feet and Y/N throws her/his/their arms around his neck in a tight hug. After a few moments she/he/they slightly pull away just enough to place a kiss on Bee’s cheek. Y/N then steps away just slightly, chuckling at Bee’s shy expression. “ Come on, let’s go meet up with the others” Y/N says, and the two head back down to the Ark and the other Autobots.
Present Day
Y/N lays across the couch in her/his/their apartment reading a book when the weirdest thing happens. Her/his/their eyes start glowing as a message from some middle aged brown haired man with strange eyebrows and two cybertronian arms starts to play.
“ My Terran troublemakers” he starts (and Y/N notices to two young kids behind him who look terrified as they are surrounded by several spider bots) “ as you can see, I have taken your human siblings. All five of you will meet me at the Witwiki race track at 5 o’clock this afternoon, and I wouldn’t try to get help from anyone or- Well, I think you can imagine what happens to poor Mo and Robby if you don’t follow my instructions”
The man gives an evil smirk before the message ends and everything goes back to normal. Y/N gasps and sits up on the couch with eyes widening in surprise. She/her/his mind starts racing for several moments before one thought comes through stronger than the rest.
“ those kids. I have to help those kids”
Y/N quickly grabs her/his/their phone looking up the location and rushing out to her/his/their car taking off for the race track.
5 o’clock
The Terrans walk through the entrance into the Witwiki race track where the evil scientist man and his spider bots have Mo and Robby. “ Right on time, just as I suspected” the man calls as the Terrans walk closer before being surrounded by the spider bots. The red drone Terran tightens her grip on her swords with an angry expression. “ we did what you said Mandroid, we’re here and we didn’t tell anyone. Now let Mo and Robby go” she says, “ Yes…. That was what I said, wasn’t it?” The man says says smiling darkly before snapping his fingers and the spiders bot’s suddenly shoot out some blue cords from their “ mouths” attaching to all of the Terrans. The cords instantly have a sparking electric current start through them shocking the Terrans who cry out in surprise and pain before falling to the ground, “ but you see…. Now that I have you. I don’t really have any more use for these two do I?” He says. Two Spider bots walk up to Mo and Robby holding their sharp claw like arms over their head readying to slice, a look of horror washes over the Terrans face as they realize what is about to happen.
The spiders bring down their arms, and just in time Y/N blasts them before stepping out from her/his/their hiding place catching everyone’s attention. “ Ok… I don’t know who you are” Y/N says taking several steps forward while keeping her/his/their blaster aimed at “ Mandroid” “ but let these kids go now!”, “ and who might you be?” He asks asks narrowing his eyes at Y/N as she/he/they step between him and the children. “ Oh, see it’s interesting. I’m-“ Y/N starts before blasting mandroid in the arm knocking him to the ground. She/he/they then throw her/his/their shield slicing the cords connected to the Terrans before they catch it when it comes back to her/him/them, the Terrans quickly get to their feet and rush to Y/N’s side just as mandroid gets up.
“ Get your siblings to safety!” Y/N orders, Y/N rushes Mandroid as the white motorcycle Terran and the red drone Terran grab Robby and Mo taking them several feet away out of danger while the three other Terrans take on the Spider bots. Y/N and Mandroid exchange a few blows before Mandroid pins Y/N down, “ is that really the best you can do?” He snarks. Y/N smirks before growing to her/his/their full height towering over the (mostly still human), “ What do you think?” Y/N asks before punching him sending him scattering several yards away. He slowly gets back up with a rather surprised look on his face. “ What are you?” He asks, “ Wouldn’t you like to know” Y/N snarks before blasting him back into the woods and the remaining spider bots run after him.
With Mandroid gone, Y/N turns to the Terrans and two human kids walking up to them. The kids all look at Y/N in awe as she/he/they brush her/him/ them self off, “ Are you all ok?” Y/N asks in concern. The Terrans all quickly crowd around Y/N as a flurry of questions come out, “ Who are you? How did you do that? What are you? How did you know where we were?”. “ whoa whoa whoa” Y/N says “ I’ll answer all of your questions, but first let’s get you kids somewhere safe”.
Y/N follows the kids to the Malto’s farm in her/his/their car, and the kids all run to hug their parents who are waiting in front of the house as Y/N parks the car and starts walking their way. The two parents give Y/N a kind of questioning look making her/him/them stop just a few steps in front of them and give them a shy smile and wave, “ Hi” Y/N says “ I’m”. Just then movement from the barn catches her/his/their eye as a familiar yellow and black bot steps out. “ Bee?” Y/N says in disbelief, “ Y/N?” Bumblebee says in surprise. “ Oh my God” Y/N says growing to her/his/their full height and running toward him nearly tackling him in a hug which he quickly reciprocates. After a moments Y/N pulls away smiling at him, “ I-I can’t believe it, it’s been so long” Y/N says. “ too long.” Bee agrees with a shy smile, and Y/N hugs him again. “ It’s so good to see you.” she/he/they says quietly.
“ Wait, Bee- So you know this, um” the mom starts failing to find a word for what Y/N is, and the two separate turning toward the others. “ Techno-organic” Y/N says. “ I do” Bee says with a smile “ everyone, this is Y/N. Y/N, these are the Malto’s”, he then introduces each member of the family. “ its nice to meet all of you.” Y/N says smiling at the kind family, “ What did you mean by Techno- organic?” Twitch asks. “ Well, basically I’m part Cybertronian and part Organic” Y/N explains, “ That sounds like what we are!” Hashtag says excitedly “ Does that mean you’re like- Our sibling?”. Y/N chuckles at the Terran’s enthusiasm, “ Not exactly” she/he/they says “ more like…. Uh, Cousins? That’s probably how I was able to receive the message from that Mandroid. He must have broadcast it on a frequency only beings like us would be able to receive. Too bad for him though, he didn’t know about me.”. A flurry of more questions come out from the Maltos and Bee puts an arm around Y/N directing her/him/them toward the barn, “ Come on guys, Y/N can explain everything in the dugout” he says and the whole family follows after them.
