Of course! There is also the option to be a beta reader for the event's writers, or to be a moderator for the Tumblr or the Discord server. Aside from that, however, you'll just have to follow along for updates and wait for posting week! (we'll be posting teasers in the months to come)

Do I have to join the Discord server to participate?

No, you do not! It is helpful for brainstorming, writing sprints and connections with other writers and artists, but it is perfectly fine to simply create your own group chat (Tumblr, Discord, or elsewhere) once your group is announced.

5K word requirement for fanfiction. You can, and are of course, encouraged to, go over the requirement!

Tag appropiately. You are allowed to be dark in your fiction, but we require that content warnings be given with the writer summaries and that important tags are included with both the art and the fiction in our event.

Art can be traditional, digital, animatic, animation, sculpture, comic, moodboard, etc. As long as it was selected as one of the art forms the writer is okay with, it is fine.

Any work, art or fanfic, does not have to be perfect. It does however have to have time put into it. Please use your best judgment.

Art must be made by you. Plagiarism is not allowed, and use of generative AI to make your written work or artwork will be cause for removal from the event. Please don't.

Indie Animations I Recommend

Haven’t posted in a while since, as I have said, my Apple Pencil broke and I haven’t been able to work on commissions or that one hazbin hotel animation… which I was actually getting through for once. Also I have fallen into a Varian And The Seven Kingdoms obsession.

Anyhow I shall now take the chance to share a couple indie animations I’ve watched/been watching recently possibly with a brief note about what kind of audience would enjoy it (might not be accurate I dunno)

First and foremost The Epilogue Of Endings which released approximately 12 hours ago as of when I’m writing this. And just before I summarise anything I just want to praise this pilot for HOW AMAZING IT IS DESPITE ITS SMALL BUDGET! The animation is fantastic and I swear something about it makes me so happy. The art style is also amazing (in my opinion) and suits the character designs perfectly. I love the character designs, just saying, and the voice acting is superb. I think my favourite designs from it are Blu (because I mean the mask and metal arms are pretty damn cool) and the ————. I won’t say who they are because the reveal is too good to miss, but you might be able to guess who I’m talking about if you’ve watched it.

Now to say what happens. This takes place after the sun ya know, goes. I think I’m probably the most interested by what exactly is going on with Mole but I think my favourite character thus far is Blu. I suggest you go watch it, it’s very cool. I think if you like Indie animation in general then this is a good pic due to its indie feel (positive). Also would suggest to people who enjoy slightly creepy media (it’s not that creepy in my opinion but it does feature the downfall of humanity and what happens after the sun dies so it’s slightly unsettling, it masters that feeling).

We also have Dreamworld which also has a season 2, I’m just linking the first one though so just so you know you can find the second season on the channel. As said by the creator, it borrows certain tropes/aspects from analogue horror and has animatronics. As it says up there it is a sci-fi horror series that is intended to be accessible to younger fans of the genre. Again, I love the story and the character designs. So far, my favourite character and character design belongs to THE Star Light. I’m starting to see a theme with me liking sun/moon/star themed animatronics. I mean this guy has a BOW TIE and a charming smile. If I wasn’t already dressing up as Varian for Halloween then I think I would’ve looked into trying to dress as Star Light.

The pilot hasn’t released but the animation from this teaser is SO GOOD! I’m excited to see the pilot. There’s also been music/songs released by them, I can’t remember if I’ve gotten around to listening to any but I fully intend on doing so.

I’m sorry but how is the animation this good with only one person animating it (I might’ve gotten that wrong). I find the character designs really cool and the art style is fun. They’re in space. The voice acting is good. Also just gonna say, they have merch.

This is Dungeon Flippers, a fantasy real-estate cartoon following Maulie, a manticore. (I copied and shortened down the description of the YouTube channel)

The animation is great and the voice acting is really good. The story is interesting and The Ace Of Wands Theme is a joy to listen to every time.

I don’t know how to describe the plot but lemme just… the animation deserves praise, it suits the vibe of the pilot and the character designs are amazing. Voice acting is also fun and I’d recommend this even if it’s just sea side/coast vibes you’re looking for.

This one is a YouTube channel that posts OC animatics and has posted Sundrop and Moondrop animations, just saying I think they drew the Sun and Moon Q&A comics soooo that was my introduction to their work.

Just watch this and you will see some PEAK animation.

And this is where we have the indie animated stuff (I consider it that at least) centred around pre-existing shows.

I myself am looking forward to making my own indie animated stuff or comics (I haven’t really decided, I’m just working on different characters whilst also writing fanfics and drawing fan comics and other art stuff on top of art homework. YAY

It’s for an OC, but with their old design. The new design has a satchel, otherwise nothing changed to be honest. I also have done another animation which was far more rough but it was me animating whilst seeing who would win the election so it’s political and not about any of my ocs or any actual characters. As I said, I already have another animation in the works for Alastor so I have to wait till my Apple Pencil gets fixed or replaced to continue working on it.

Anyways, this is a sort of teaser for a thing I’m working on that I wanted to post because I thought it looked cool. Don’t hold your breath for the whole thing tho, I lose motivation for animatics quickly.

Anyways, this isn’t following any one particular tmnt iteration, it’s rather just a compilation of a few of the times the turtles have all died. They’re all mostly from different continuity’s but each of these has in fact happened in canon at some point. I’m curious to see if anyone will care to guess them

Except for Mickeys death because I gotta explain that; that is his death in the Rottmnt movie. I chose not to use his future design there because it would look wildly out of place with the others.

WIP - Melodi Opening Cutscene

I won't be revealing a LOT of sneak previews of Melodi, but when this cutscene is complete, it will serve as a teaser for the game being officially in production.

For now, may this serve as a proof of concept and an introduction into what to expect in the world of Melodi.

Melodi is being produced in RPG Maker, and cutscenes will be in this style for storytelling purposes. Not fully animated, but sort of animatic. The animatic style is very much hearkening to using Tumblr's inline image viewing system to make pseudo-animations frame by frame.

The difference between red and gray backgrounds is that red is the color of unshaped dreams, while the other is the waking world. Melodi's species may not sleep, but they can daydream very vividly.

In this scene, we are introduced to our protagonist, Melodi, the scatterbrained Ellinai ("Moon Elf"), and her History Professor, the esteemed Eliah Sterium (He is a Whimzy, magical dream unicorns).

In Melodi's universe, a slap with a ruler isn't even close to the worst things a teacher will do to their students.

[Note: I will be making a Discord server for Melodi game development, and that server will be utilized for asking questions, seeing art production, WIPs and other things, as well as information about how you can support the production of Melodi, be it financially, technically (teaching me how to RPG Maker) or simply with vocal support. It will also have channels for discussion on different topics such as characters, lore, fan art, draw-along streams, spoiler discussion and theories about upcoming story beats. I'll be posting here when the Discord is created and I hope many of you join! Please keep in mind that the game is very violent and raunchy, but is not pornographic. It will be rated M but will not contain nudity. Sexual references, yes, but visually speaking it will not contain porn. I just wanted to make this clear right away before moving forward in production with the game.]

HH Lucifer-centric AU: Some Updates and Tidbits!

Hi everyone! I hope you're all still here with me. Part 2's posting on ao3 is almost ending and I will strive to start Part 3 after it.

I want to share some things with you guys.

I'm sure you're all wondering what happened in between Roo's rising and the teaser chapter. And to give you a visual on it, I think this Scylla Animatic from Epic the Musical and The Hour of Joy Clip from Poppy Playtime.

There was only one thing I wanted to happen in that scene: a massacre. But with Roo's deal, only those in Heaven were eradicated (except Vaggie but I'll address that in Part 3 of the series)

A lot of scenes and dialogues from the fic are references to tv shows/songs/any piece of media I have encountered and expect more on the final part!

It might take longer for me to start posting chapters again.

Another reason for that is I'm on a Supernatural kick again and I'm itching to write a story (if you've seen me posting prompts for it here). I might prioritize that so to any Spn fans here, Hi!

Thank you to everyone who showed up to my stream last night, it was SO much fun! I would really like to do more Mil-Liminal streams/fictional podcasts in the future. We will see. In the meantime, one thing i showed was a special little teaser for Mil-Liminal's Book 2! Heres the art I made to show it off, I'm honestly really happy with how it came out.

Yuki! You’ve seen the animatics from Sauce of Jack singing Dead End Paranormal Park songs right?!🤩 I was wondering if you’ve had any ideas of SDJ AUs inspired by Dead End! Maybe Jack takes on a similar role to Pauline Phoenix? Maybe Ian could be the next unlucky host of our favorite ghost? Just Sunny Day Jack mixed with Dead End Paranormal Park!

I’ve seen those animatics! They’re great. For those who haven’t seen them yet, you can find the first one here, and the second one here. I highly recommend checking them out if you haven’t yet, and consider leaving a kind word or two while you’re there.

These animatics give me so many thoughts about what Jack(tor) is going through even though they’re very much non-canon. Talk about fighting with yourself.

Sadly, I’ve never seen Dead End Paranormal Park. At some point I probably should since those songs are really good. Phantom of the Opera themed stories are really intriguing.

The second animatic reminded me of a lot of @kandi-bat​’s adorable art where Joseph and Jack are at odds with one another. It also reminds me of another piece of art Sauce posted publicly on their old twitter.

This picture Sauce drew is wonderfully pretty and juicy with symbolism. Full credit goes to them as always for their fantastic work. It gives me so many thoughts about the conflict of Jacktor’s mental state even this technically isn’t canon since it’s not on the official Sunny Day Jack twitter or tumblr.

Since I shared one of Sauce’s publicly posted art pieces, I want to remind everyone to not share anything privately posted on the SnaccPop Studios Patreon. Instead consider joining for bonus content and to support the team. You might get to see a lot more than these teasers of the updated Jack sprites. He’s even bigger, fluffier, and more huggable looking than before!

It’s stuff like this picture and these animatics that make me wonder just how fractured Jacktor’s mind is from what happened during the incident of 1984, and just what happened to him to bind him to the tape and make him this supernatural entity... and if we’re going to see Jack at odds with himself in the game.

The ASDF Movie (ATA Edition)

Hello, viewers! This post most likely won't be seen a whole lot due to me being new and all, but that's okay! I just felt like making this cuz it's fun! But anyway, if you know what Amanda the Adventurer is, and you know the ASDF movie, then you know what this is! But if you don't, that's okay, too. Just make sure to check them out for me, capiche?

I'm talking too much, so let's cut to the chase! Unfortunately, I can only show the script of ASDF because I'm terrible at drawing, but I'll tell you what: If you want, you can take this script and turn it into a real animatic/animation! Just make sure to credit me! Also, I've only picked the ones I believed would fit best for the characters, so sorry if a scene that you really enjoyed isn't mentioned. This is a big master post for any and all newcomers to this blog.

Hi! I'm RandomDragons, or RD for short. I'm an artist and writer who also make animatics on YouTube, either about stuff I like or the original characters/projects I've written. This blog doesn't really have a set goal or anything, I just kind of want to do whatever I want lol.

Most of what I do online centers my original projects. None of them are technically "finished" and available to the public, but I plan on making them all official some day! Until the projects are completed, you can learn about them through my illustrations, animatics, or "teaser" posts I will put on here.

For easy understanding, here's a rundown of the Big 3 Projects you'll see me tease online:

DRAGON EYE: a fantasy project! If you see people with magic lights around them, or people with human and animal features, it's definitely DE-related. It's been in the works since 2015, although I'm planning on giving it a huge overhaul in the next few years. Anything I post about it can be found in the #dragon eye and #de tags!

TWO-FACED: sort of my own take on a dystopian world. If you see characters with blank faces and blacked out eyes, They're from TF (and the faces are masked. They wear masks). Work for this one started in late 2019-early 2020. Any related posts can be found in the #tf and #two-faced tags.

FAREWELL TO BROKEN HEARTS: half romance half break-up tale. This one follows two exes and their lives during and after their relationship falls apart. If you see a girl with long black hair and dressed predominately in blue, or a guy associated with predominately red, that's the main protagonists of FTBH. This is the most recent project, starting in 2021, but has quickly become one of my favorites to work on. It can be found in the #ftbh and #farewell to broken hearts tags.

I also engage in plenty of fandom content as well. Frequent tags include: #helluva boss, #hazbin hotel, #breaking bad, #better call saul, #cotl, #bojack horseman, and MORE!! if you like any of those stick around :))

hi! one more regular post before i jump back into OC blog replies and such

this is a small teaser for something i'll be working on over the summer (hopefully)! this passion project in particular is very special to me, mostly because i've been developing this story since i was somewhere around 9 or 10. So touching up on it and finally getting to share it will be really nice for me ^^ so- what's it called? look in the top right corner of the art, my friend! (**Project: HOPE** !!) you've probably already seen a few of the characters from the series around my tumblr (because they're all i've posted here...), but this mainly going to focus around Asher and his friend Mabel. but of course, i'm not gonna be too revealing about anything yet ^^

will Project: HOPE finish this year? no lmao. i don't even know if i want this to be a comic or more of an animatic-styled thing yet. we'll have to see!

FMP Introduction

We have officially started Semester C! I have successfully had my planning folder signed off and I’m ready to make a start on my work. For my first post, I want to give some basic context of my FMP idea and what I’ll be focusing on this semester.

I will be working on our project “Mutagen” with Alec Bicheno and Melissa Amott. For this project I am a character/creature artist, as will be creating the main monster character for a short cinematic teaser trailer for our game idea. This will not include gameplay, but will be an animated cinematic showing the general idea of the narrative.

The narrative follows a vlogging explorer who goes to explore an abandoned bunker that has been disturbed by an earthquake, but inside finds damage that allows him to explore secret areas, discovering it’s an abandoned Cold War military base, hiding terrifying secrets.

Inside the base there will be two enemy creatures. I will be creating the main alien/genetic mutation, while Melissa will be creating the parasite and Alec will be making the environment. My job roles for this project are modelling, sculpting, retopology, UV unwrapping, baking, texturing and animating the monster character, as well as implementing the cinematic at the end alongside Alec and Melissa.

My goals for this project are to create a high quality sculpt with good topology. It has to be animatable in Mixamo or motion capture, although our main plan is to use Mixamo due to the time contstraints involved.

I also want to learn a lot more about Unreal Engine 5 by being a cinematic artist for this project, so I hope to learn about effective camera and lighting work.

Hi, Today I wanted to talked about the post I made containing the teaser for LoH animatic. Unfortunately, I currently have to postpone the making of the animatic due school finally opened. I also have a few more projects that ended up left unfinished. I'm currently trying to make a schedule for my self when I finally have time to make the animatic while trying to balance School works.
