A/N: Hi there! Thank you for this request. I'm still not feeling great but wanted to write. I was only able to get something put together for Shanks for this request but hopefully I'll be able to put something for Ace out at another date. I decided to do it more that Shanks got caught being jealous as a little twist on the prompt and I hope you enjoyed what I came up with

You knew something was up, you couldn’t quite put your finger on it or really place why you knew but deep down, something inside you knew Shanks was up to something. He hadn't even done anything yet that you knew of but when you watched him return to the ship after a night of drinking at the bar your eyes immediately sharpened as you sensed the change. Despite the charming captain laughing and talking away to the others as they all drew closer to the Red Force you couldn’t shake the feeling that something else was simmering below the surface of his outward warmth. You nearly felt the need to pull your jacket tighter around you body even though it was a pleasant summer’s night. The only thing you could compare it to was the stories of people being able to sense a storm was imminent with no signs. You just knew Shanks was plotting something and when he looked up and smiled at you with a lazy wave your suspicion only grew that he’d drag you into it somehow as well. 

You greeted each of the drunken crew and mentally took note to ensure no one had gotten lost and the others hadn’t noticed. With a warm smile you watched them make their ways to their desired sleeping places for the night, whether they actually made it to their rooms or not was a separate matter entirely. On more than one occasion members of the Red Hair Pirates- yourself included- would wake after a fun night of drinking and find themselves in the strangest of places. When the last of the returning party disappeared you glanced out of the corner of your eye to see Shanks draw closer until he was behind you. You tried to fight a smile when you felt him nuzzle his head against your neck and wrap his arm around you loosely. “Not turning in Red?” 

“What? Go to a cold bed all on my own? Seems boring.” You could feel Shanks’ breath and lips tickle against you and instinctively twisted in his hold but made no real effort to move away, used to his antics. You were still suspicious however, and that feeling only grew when you could immediately tell Shanks wasn’t drunk. He’d had a drink or two you suspected but not what he normally would and given the state of the others, you felt worry begin to twist in your stomach. You were about to ask him what was wrong when he moved closer, his hand slowly dragging to settle on your hip while his lips trailed up to your ear. “Missed you tonight.”

“You know I’d have gone with you if I wasn’t on watch duty tonight. Speaking of I need to get back to it.” You tried to reassure your Captain and lover lightly but his actions and your suspicions that something was going on was throwing your mind in confusing circles and your focus began to slip once more when Shanks’ deep laugh rumbled in his chest and the vibrations carried through your frame.

“Watch duty’s just formality for us though. You mostly just sit back and relax because you know no one’d try anything with us.” Shanks spoke confidently, smirking against the shell of your ear before he started to kiss down your jaw and neck feeling your breathing hitch and body suppress the small shudder. “This is our territory. This is an Emperor’s ship. Only a fool would think they could compete…that they could take something from me.”

“Shanks ah-!” You were cut off when he unexpectedly switched the feather-light kisses against your skin to abruptly bite against your pulse point and soothe it immediately after with another kiss. Except compared to the others this one was drawn out just a little longer. You turned finally to fully face Shanks only to yelp when he wasted no time in lifting you to sit on the railing so he could stand between your legs and continue his desired path of trailing kisses along the column of your throat newly exposed to him. “What happened out there?”

“Like I said I missed you.” Shanks explained tilting his head back to look at you. While you didn’t doubt the desire in his eyes for you and while you weren’t telling him to stop you weren’t getting the full story and in order to get to the bottom of it all you had to be strong and firm. With a lot of restraint you placed one hand on Shanks’ wrist pausing him as his hand was beginning to snake under your shirt while the other lightly cupped under his chin to halt his attempt to finally claim your lips against his. As much as you hated stopping him, you couldn’t deny the amusement you felt seeing the all powerful Captain, and one of the four Emperor’s of the sea, Red Hair Shanks pout.

“Talk to me, love.” You requested softly, your words gentle and sweet but more compelling to Shanks than anything in the world. Anything you wished for was yours, he’d even give up his other arm if it meant you got what you wanted. Secretly he’d hoped you wouldn’t notice the tension in his body and twisting thoughts that had soured his mood but had gone to great lengths to hide but that’s what made you you. The perception you had for him was unparalleled. Shanks watched you lean in to place a tender peck on his lips. Your ability to play dirty and lower his guard was also unparalleled. “Please?”

“I overheard something in the bar.” Shanks began, the scowl growing on his face as he remembered. “Seems you’re very popular with the locals. One in particular is the eldest son of the town’s mayor.”

“Wait…” You began, a smile of pure disbelief growing on your face. “Shanks…were you jealous of some civilian having a crush on me?”

“I guess.”

“But you don’t get jealous. You’ve practically sat back and laughed when I’ve turned people down.” You lost count over the years of how many times people have tried to seduce you and Shanks only for them all to be let down firmly. You couldn’t remember the last time you felt jealous over Shanks’ admirers and this was a first for you, seeing your lover jealous. “What was so different this time compared to the others?”

“I guess because I could actually picture you with someone like that. Seeing you have that kind of life.”

“Married to a future mayor?” You asked letting your thumb rub a soothing circle against his hand still in your hold in the hopes it’d reassure him. “I can’t picture that.”

“Maybe not the person exactly, but the life you’d have. Safe, comfortable-”

“Boring.” You interjected with a soft smile. “I did the civilian thing before we met remember? Not for me so you can relax. You provide for me in ways those locals can only dream of Shanks. Promise I’m only yours.”

“Sure about that?” Shanks asked, his own effortless grin appearing and you could tell his worries had lifted thanks to your reassurances. Now the playfulness and confidence that you knew so well had returned to Shanks, allowing you to breathe easier. “He had a lot of coin and lives in a manor.”

“Oh well in that case, I’ll go introduce myself.” You joked, pretending to turn so you could leap off of the ship’s railing and head into town and see the desirable suitor and his manor for yourself. Instead you let out a yelp when Shanks had you lifted with ease and thrown over his broad shoulder and began striding across the deck to head to his and your private quarters. 

“Nah, I don’t think you will.” Shanks chuckled underneath you as he lightly kicked the door open, carrying you inside. Now in the lit room you caught sight of your reflection and your eyes widened.   In the short amount of time Shanks had been at work on the deck had already caused marks to show against your neck. 

“Shanks!” You lectured as he lightly tossed you onto the bed and joined you, leaning in close with his eyes gleaming with the same desire as before. “Look at my neck. What were you thinking?”

“Don’t be mad, love…the jealousy made me do it.” Shanks explained innocently with no sign of remorse in his eyes as he looked at his handiwork. If anything he looked proud and you shuddered when you caught that familiar feeling overcome you once more and your heart skipped when Shanks smirked at you. “In fact I think I’m feeling jealous again.”

As Shanks’ mouth finally moved to your lips and the feeling of his hand and body against you working in tandem with the dizzying kiss the only coherent thought you could muster was that of course Shanks would manage to make the fact he was caught being jealous work in his favour in the best way possible and you were not complaining in the slightest.

INVERTED!Poppy!!!

Finally made her up, I was just putting it off and putting off designing her but then I took my pen, my new laptop and drew it, now look at her!!!

Alright let's start shall we?

Design:

"OMG FANATICAL WHY DOES POPPY LOOKS LIKE A FRISK-" Shhhhh, you need to calm down, i'll explain everything;

Alright, bare with me: The original Poppy mentions in an animation, that she's talking to her therapist, that people usually thinks she's a Chara, but she's none! And I think, I theorize, I suppose that the reason why she looks like a Chara is bc an Frisk was drawing her (you know her lore?), so supposing that the whole concept of Invertedverse is that the original universe Underswap, that Frisk who drew her is an Chara, so if the Frisk drew a Chara in the original, here the Frisk that is now a Chara would draw a Frisk....... so, that's the logic here.;

Even though Poppy is still not a Frisk nor a Chara, but I don't think I translated that into her design, maybe I'll redo it sometime.

Her clothings are intriguing. It's her original teenage/adult clothings but with some green and a purple cloak or cape, whatever that is. This cloak represents her importance inside OmegaTimeline, that reminds me;

Story:

Core was the "ruler" of Omega Timeline, everyone would look for them when there was a problem and needed help, everybody trusted them, but they put Poppy on their place... Core is a very mischievous character, no one really knows why they put Poppy in charge.

Omega citizens theorize that the reason is because Core was lazy, or that they didn't like the attention, or maybe they wanted to focus fully on recruting people, even thought after Poppy got in charge Core was rarely seen interacting with people and also the numbers of new survivors to get to the OT decreased.

Poppy tries her best to help remain peace within Omega Timeline, even if it requires all of her energies, thought she could really use some help, she thinks that the reason why her parent is more absent while she was in charge was because they knew she could everything alone, and that she should do it.

She doesn't have many friends, and the old ones got far away because she's too busy working signing papers, solving problems, financing projects, etc, etc.

Character:

She suffers. That's the truth, she just needs a vacation and a hug from her girlfriend.

She doesn't like parties... just thought it was important to mention.

Poppy doesn't like her parent, almost hates them even, they seem so irresponsible, imature and a coward, after just letting their daughter in charge of a (practically) country in surprise, it's expected for her to feel that way

Poppy has to be the clueless character in the whole Invertedverse, the reason is that she's so busy at work, or too busy being tired, and she usually gets information on what's going on from Core, but Core have been very silent lately, wonder why...

She has the hobby of playing board games, dancing and origamis!

She likes to cook more for others than herself

Sometimes she would visit the Madame T's orphanage, mainly to see Cadence and her friends, but also to donate and all of that things famous ppl do in orphanages idk.

Even thought she does a lot of hard work sometimes she'd take credit over someone elses work unintentionally, i mean, she's kind of the president.

She can't lie, like literally, maybe it's just her morals, or maybe it's a supernatural force idk.

She also keeps taping her fingers in hard surfaces all the time, I think it's anxiety.

Oh yeah, her full name is still Poppy Marusina, but she can also be called Iris Marusina, or maybe I'll change that to her original name, idk

My style has been so inconsistent this year (thanks multiple style crises), but I am proud of a few pieces. Mostly. I seem to use similar techniques and colors a lot, but I guess that's the point of an art style anyway. Everything up here is cropped a bit since I don't draw at a 1:1 ratio usually. [behind the scenes: this is the first piece i ever wrote for lu zhi! i was still figuring out her voice and the direction i wanted to take with her character, so the tone is a lot more comedic and lu zhi is a lot more blunt in her communication.]

Liu Bang knew from experience that the best way to assuage his wife's temper was to debase himself first. The math was simple; grovelling*time/gifts= forgiveness. He did not regard this as an act of emasculation the way a normal man should--though you couldn't have beaten that admission out of him with iron cudgels. In his mind, the path of least resistance was always the correct choice, and this inborn laziness easily trumped forty-eight years of Chu society instilled chauvinism. Why fight your way through a twenty-li thorn bush when there was a perfectly good paved road right there? Thus, he approached his humiliation with the level-headed calculation of a city engineer who was about to open the dykes for an approaching monsoon. Better to suffer some moderate flooding than to have the dam burst and flatten your city. When Hurrican Lü blew through, you could either get out of her way, or hunker down and minimize damages.

Liu Bang eyed the short, fat woman carefully from his periphery and wracked his skull for something appropriately stupid to say. What he came up with was exceptional, even by his standards;

 "Wife, be honest. Me and Xiang Yu… y'reckon I've got a chance?"

The shuttles of the loom abruptly screeched to a halt. Lü Zhi stared at him in disbelief for a long moment. "My god, your arrogance is breath-taking. Let me spell it out for you, old man. Xiang Yu is a hegemon-king and a hero of our times. You are a small-town populist with a handful of soldiers and barely two pieces of silver to rub together. What could you possibly offer him except a half-decent face and a willingness to debase yourself?"

"…So that's a maybe?"

"Maybe my ass!"

Liu Bang was preening a little at his face being called half-decent, even into his advanced middle age. The rest of his shortcomings rolled right off him like water off a duck's back.

"I think you're spot on, wife." He said thoughtfully. The longer he played this out, the more effective it would be.  "Debasement is the key here! Men like to feel powerful and in charge. I'll just act as pathetic as possible and let Xiang Yu dominate me! I got his type all figured out. He might not have a taste for boys, but he loves conquest. I'll convince him it's a show of strength to bed a man, especially a venerable senior who is in awe of his youth and valour. Haha, it's perfect! I'll have that arrogant young stallion pushing me down before the month is out, I guarantee it!"

By now, Lü Zhi had wizened up to his game. She was both furious, and struggling not to laugh--which made her angrier. "Were you not fed enough as a baby?" Lü Zhi snapped, half disgusted, half in awe of her husband's shamelessness. "How could a grown man end up so bent? I've seen whores have more dignity."

It was unnatural for an older men to take the submissive role in bed. If word got out that her husband was letting some brat who was young enough to be his son climb all over him, her reputation would be in the gutter.

Liu Bang replied shamelessly, "you're just jealous of what I can do, even without a girl's natural advantages." He even had to gall to draw his sleeve over his face in a parody of coquetry, "it takes skill to turn a man's head! It's not enough to have a pretty face, you must also be sweet and have an enticing personality."

That struck a nerve. Demure and sweet were antonyms to the name 'Lü Zhi.' "Maybe he'll take you as a concubine, dear husband. You'd enjoy it, I wager."

"A concubine?" Liu Bang didn't need to pretend to be deeply affronted by her words, "how could you think so little of your husband? I'll have you know, I'm consort material through and through!"

Lü Zhi sighed and rolled her eyes skywards, as if praying for divine lightning to pierce the ceiling and end her suffering. Either by striking herself, or Liu Bang--she wasn't picky. "Even if you have no regard for propriety, can you at least spare some pity for your family? Such ignominy is no hardship for myself, of course, it is a woman's duty to stand by her husband, even if she is torn limb from limb. It's your venerable old father I fear for. If he were to hear the filth coming out of your mouth, he'd surely die of shame."

Liu Bang replied  shamelessly, "oh, we both know my mouth's been in dirtier places."

Lü Zhi spluttered and flushed scarlet, for a moment she was too enraged to even speak, "why you revolting, shameless…!"

"That wasn't what I heard last night!" Liu Bang roared with laughter--from the safety of a three zhang away. A wooden shuttle went whizzing past his head and he retreated another zhang as a precaution.

Liu Bang had been speaking in jest before, but bit by bit his voice had gradually changed. It had lost none of it's pleasant, conversational tone, but now it contained an undercurrent of thoughtfulness, which made it a hundred times more dangerous. Like the invisible eddies that formed below waterfalls, tranquil on the surface, but waiting to drag you under if you got too close."He's fatherless, y'know, the poor, sad little pup. And that venerable uncle of his? So stuffy and uptight. He loves that horrible brat nephew of his--Heaven bless that old soul, you couldn't find a more filial younger brother--but he's a real tight-wad when it comes to praise, or any emotion really. Never smiles or frowns. You'd have better luck squeezing water from stone. Our Hegemon-King may prowl like a tiger when he's on the battlefield, but deep down inside he craves the adoration of older, respectable gentlemen. I've seen it in his eyes. Sing a few praises, and he puffs up like a little mantou. He measures himself against the glory he's won, just like a little boy marking a doorframe to see how much he's grown. And he's a greedy bugger too, he'll never be satisfied with the inches he's already put on. The next goal has to be bigger than the last. Each cheer has to be louder than the last. He needs the attention of others to survive, like the wheat-sprout needs frequent rain, not one drop less, or he'll wither up and die. He's sick to death of all these advisors and generals trying to tie him down and keep him humble. Always telling him to say this and do that. So I'll be the one to raise him up. I'll stoke his big, hot ego and use my silver tongue to leave him smiling and sated. I'll blow him up bigger and bigger until his head brushes the clouds, right until the whole thing collapses under it's own impossible weight. Let him think I'm just a harmless old leacher. By the time he realises I'm far from harmless, it will be too late. Mark my words, Old Liu will be the one who finishes on top in the end."

so my hand slipped and while it did it made me search every nook and cranny of the epic fandom for every single existing wlw ship i could find and made me draw three so far + my ramblings

was gonna put this in the "technically doesn't count" section since i first saw this ship with circe the book and not epic. but then i saw an epic version of this ship on tiktok so...fuck it we ball.

i luh luh love this ship in circe (the book). in epic, it's cool. i think they'd be a good duo, romantic or not tbh. also, if you read circe the book and ship penelope and circe in that book, go to ao3 and read the circe and penelope fics. i dunno why, but the writers in that scene are like sappho reencarnates? i dunno, they're great.

(also penelope had more sexual tension with circe than telemachus did in that book fight me /not srs)

not the biggest fan of toxic yuri, which is pretty much this ship, but i felt very inclined to include these two. i don't have much to say about them, though, they're just neato. (btw you'll see these two again but with a plus one.) like with circe and pen, there were fics of them on ao3, but only two. if you do want to read them, i suggest only reading one if you aren't into freaky things. because one is normal and the other is like if circe got in on the manwhore au but like worse even by the mw au standards so...yeah. not for the squeamish.

also, if you saw my other scylla doodles, i made scylla's hair more wavy since she was looking a little too much like penelope. also gave her scales n shit so. good for her.

tbh i don't like drawing characters with long black hair, especially straight long black hair since i used to have that type of hair and every time i drew a character with that hair people would go: 'oh is that you' NO. SHUT UP. NO IT'S NOT.

but it's okay because i shaved my head and now i'm bald.

a little break from circe. i love my girl circe but damn bitch, don't gotta collect all of them. you in epic, not pokemon. circe is in like 90% of these (i'm not fact checking that). probably since she is the female character with the most screen time, save for athena. even so, not only is circe more appealing to the sapphic gaze, she is easy to put in a wlw setting whereas athena is difficult to put in a romantic setting period. but when athena is, it's typically with a woman, so

also they're both kind of gray themed characters? eh, actually, i dunno, penelope just gives gray but, again, that might just be me.

if we wanna get into odyssey (which tbh i don't really wanna do since I prefer separating epic and odyssey), athena blessed penelope with sleep often, which is sweet. she also did that to odysseus but this ain't about him right now.

The DoD Cast but my Version | Part 01

This is part one of the cast of DoD by my ver/AU designs of them.

From left to right we have: Clay, Tsunami, & Glory.

These designs are based on what I would I have done if I made the designs for the tribes (bcs I think the Canon designs for the tribes just look... kinda boring imo? Plz dont attack me plz, i just wanna be creative + THESE ARE MY VERSIONS! Not redesigns.)

Anyways some changes I made to them:

Clay now has a grey-ish brown tint which can become even greyer if in contact with water or a bright red color if he goes into contact with heat.

Clay now has droopy ears (bcs you don't want mud in yur ears do u?) & strange antennas to feel the air when going into mud. They're meant to Mimic cattails or rice plants but whatever I was lazy as hell.

Tsu now has a orange underbelly due to the fact that water can also be a orangey brown. (Alos bcs it felt weird to just have a sea dragon only be blue & green with out taking in the fact the same is pretty colorful)

Tsu has semi-squidish eyes. Don't ask why I gave her these i just thought it be neat to give her the eyes of a squid which are round. (Also gave her more head fins bcs well.. FISH!)

Didn't change much about Glory other than her coloration which is slightly based on the moring glory. I did however give her some more patterns & whiskers. (Bcs of what a frend told me)

I did infact swap the eye color of both Clay & Glory since well... Idk I just like it when the eye is a different color from the main body itself.

Thats really it for the changes of these designs.

Yeh.. Nothing changed much other than the glowy stuff being there.

I know that they look kinda Goofy, especially Tsu, but I HAVENT DRAWN DRAGONS IN AWHILE, ONLY HUMANOID CREATURES, SO OF COURSE THEY WOULD BE A BIT GOOFY!

Anyways uh... Imma prob gonna draw Starflight & Sumby (Sunny) now & maybe make a Skywing fella afterwards named Sulfer who deff isn't gonna be the Skywing that was supposed to be in the prophecy but then his egg got smushed so in this AU of mine imma make it so the egg he was in was STOLEN from Hutvr (I can't spell his name help-) & was raised as a thief. (Bcs in the original Hutvr fracking dies also)

How do you happen to do your shading id you don't mind sharing? Its so subtle and soft that you can't tell its there but it really helps highlight the characters

Phew, finally got some time on my hand to answer this one! It's a fairly simple/fast process so I figured I'd make a tuto once I'd get started on the shading for the next part, and here we are!

Alright so, we've got the panel (lazy screenshots cuz I'll never finish this if I have to export everytime ahah)

The advantage of digital art is that I don't have to think about color harmonies right from the start, I can always add filters and fiddle with the hues at any stage, so I just apply base colors at first and draw the background (it will help me build up a palette for the shadows later).

Okay, now the fun really begins. First I need to know which direction my shadows are likely to go and what atmosphere I want for the panel (which element I want to highlight? palette idea? etc). A sketch is enough to establish your intentions. Sometimes I'll mess up the lighting but it's okay to cheat if it looks coherent enough xD

Now to create palette and apply the said shadows. I have a hand made one for TMS, but I had to make a special one for Ebott since there's a lot bg and kinda heavier atmosphere (I'll prbly have to make one for each part frow now on too hm). It's mostly made up of blues and greens (no black or greys here, but it can be fun to use in other styles! Purple too, so have fun!)

There, cast shadows (clothes, faces, folds, etc.) are roughly in place and looking sharp! Maybe a little bit too sharp actually... Let's smooth all that up

I use an airbrush eraser to soften a few shadows. Not necessarily all of them or the whole shape, you have to find the right balance of soft/sharp.

Now to spice things up a bit-

On a layer linked to the shadow layer, I add a lighter color that matches my light source or the environnement. Here it's a light blue, but in part VII I used a lot of orange (sun)! It makes the shadow much richer and the whole palette more vibrant!

(Again, you don't have to do it on all of them)

And last but not least: Global shadow and filters (? never had to name or translate it bwahaha)

It's a lot of fiddling to achieve a result where the character looks more or less rooted in the background (=blue layers and filters to harmonize colors) and where I draw the last shadows. They're often the biggest ones (=on Axe's body+ leaf/tree shadows etc.).

You can use the techniques I've described above, or just go for it, it's completely freewheeling from here, ahem. Just make sure to step back regularly to see where you're at and stop.

(You can also add lights layers and spots if it's too dark but in this example, I use the base color as a light layer + their skulls are such a bright white already xD )

I draw using Clip Studio Paint on my PC and traditionally using my hands! I once used a mouse to draw until I got my drawing tablet in 2022!

My characters were all created for fun and for story purposes.

hoo boy poses! an eternally difficult frustrating teeth clenching jaw aching part of drawing 🤩 JK but i def get where you are coming from. i was trying to think of the best way to reply to this and just ended up making a whole step by step of my process LOL

BEFORE WE BEGIN THOUGH i should mention that i am NOT a professional, nor have i learned these techniques anywhere other than the internet and so there's obviously room for improvement and this is not the end-all-be-all, just how i personally draw poses ATM.

now with that out of the way! keep reading for my tutorial on posing :D

i figured the best way to show this would be to take one of my old drawings and repurpose it. so:

rayla. january 11 2020 rayla. she looks a lil smug maybe? a lil confident? her arms are crossed and her head is kinda tilted and her expression seems that way, but all in all it's kinda grey. this is the first thing you should do when making a pose for your character:

what is your character feeling?

define it clearly. are they angry? close their pose up, cross their arms. happy? open it up, give them big gestures. lazy or tired? slouching, etc. posing is pretty much just body language so figure out what you want your character to say when they aren't speaking.

now i'll just show what the base sketch for this drawing looks like:

that's fine and all, the building blocks are there, but now i'm gonna redraw it and show what i would do differently now:

what's different about this sketch from the first one? three main things which i will break down!

The Lines

when i say "the lines", i mean the horizontal lines of the body if that makes sense? i'm sure there's an actual term or something, but basically, the parts of your body that can tilt. don't make these parallel! that can end up making the character look unbalanced and unnatural, or stiff if the lines are just flat. in the 2020 sketch, they aren't parallel, but they aren't exaggerated either. the more you exaggerate the differences in your posing, the more dynamic it will look. so in this sketch, i've exaggerated them more. gotta make rayla look real cocky yk

The Blobs

when i used to sketch bases for my characters, it would be a bunch of boxes and rectangles connected by sticks. i stopped doing that and it helped. human bodies are soft and squishy and curvy, we aren't robots with metal edges. drawing the base shapes as blobs personally helps me with getting rid of stiffness in the pose. lots of ppl make the boxy method work though, so if that's what you wanna do, by all means.

another thing i noted is "forget about the limbs". limbs are basically just branches, so if you get caught up in drawing them before their foundation (torso + lower half) is down, it could look wonky. get the basis down first, and then go on with the joints and limbs.

The Line (Singular)

AKA the line of action, which is a very popular term + method for posing. this is basically a line that runs down the spine, and the more bendy/curvy it is, the more dynamic your pose will look. tbh in the sketch i did right now it's not very action-y, but rayla is also just standing there, so if you want to do a fighting pose or something similar make sure the line of action is hella curved. even for stationary poses though, a little curve is helpful.

so! with these things in mind, i redid (extremely very roughly lol) the drawing. let's see the difference:

eyy hows that? she looks a helluva lot more arrogant! lol jk. but we can definitely get a better grasp of her character from the first image than the second. ofc there are other factors at play here like line weight and expression, but nevertheless, a few small tweaks go a long way.

So, latober day 10 was "Moon". Thinking about what I wanted to do I did this.

So I did a zine about it. If it read as pretentious, it probably is. I don't think it's bad to do something pretending you're better than you are.

Love kicked his legs as he stared at Time. She had looked rather down the past few days, but it was nothing he couldn't fix-- he handled everything when it came to emotions. Humans knew him as Love, as did most other gods, for that is what he specialized in-- But hatred, sorrow, and joy were all also feelings he handled.

"Sooooo... Clocky, Tick-tock," He tried both nicknames on his tongue with a hum of dissatisfaction. No, no, neither would do. "What's been on your miiind? You know you can tell me, my mouth is shut tight!"

Time looked over at him with pursed lips and sunken eyes. She knew she could tell him, she knew he wouldn't spill a word, but it hurt to think about. She kept following the human she adored, in hopes her affection would eventually be shared, but it never was. It made her heart ache.

When the goddess did not respond, Love stretched his arms out above his head and let out a soft groan. "Welp! Not gonna force you. New question! Think you can make someone immortal for me? See, there's this cute little human! Wants sooo hard to be a warlock or something... Not sure I can help with that magic-stuff, but I do like him a lot."

Many words came to her mouth at his words, but none of them slipped from her lips. Some words sounded like what may be said by Teruko, her beloved curse-bearer, which made her tear up and sigh. Hopefully it will pass, she thought sorrowfully as she stared at Love.

He just kept talking about the mortal, describing the features he had and describing the way he talked. She did not interrupt at all, but if the mortal was anything like Teruko... Oh, she worried she'd make another mistake.

"Sooo... Hmm... Well, i'll also ask him if he wants to be immortall... But think about it, alright? Preeetty please?" Love flashed Time a pleading pout, as well as what looked to be his attempt at puppy-dog eyes.

In turn, she just snickered into the side of her fist and waved her other hand in dismissal. "Fine, fine! I'll think about it."

I really really like how you emphasized that Eden was scared to gift any mortal with immortality because of what happened with Teruko. immortality was the ultimate gift you could ever get from her, yet Teruko treated it as a curse, a hex. She didn't want this, she didn't want this.

No matter how much Time follows Teruko, she will always run, like she always does.

BLOG!!! (For short LUW)

This AU is my own idea. There may be some questions you may ask yourself, but first let me explain what this blog is for.

This post is the main one, I recommend checking it if you're new to this AU. Here I'll post everything Luci's Underwitch related. Or almost everything. I'll try. (I may have missed some art from my main acc, it is @luciluck2046)

Let me give you a brief explanation of the AU. Luci's Underwitch is an AU where all monsters are actually humanized, being called Witches. Frisk is 12 during their travel around the Underground, doing the Pacifist Run, and in the end, accepting the job as the ambassador of Witches, but going 'home' to their dad. Chara fallows them pretty much everywhere, and likes Frisk very much, being besties.

Now several months fast forward, Frisk lives with the Dreemurr Family. Asriel (11 y/o) and Kris(5 y/o) are their siblings, and Toriel takes care of all of them, dating Sans (mhm, I'm one of them Soriel shipers).

Ten years later, Frisk and Asriel are at college, and Kris found out about the Dark Worlds!.. The year now it's 2025, and Kris with Susie are now at their homes, waiting for their siblings to come back from college for Easter! Scarlett is one of Frisk's best friends, maybe even more than friends! And Asriel is still single since he's autistic as fuck.

Toghether, Frisk (with Chara ofc), Kris, Asriel, Susie and Ralsei are going into a steampunk adventure in Frisk's closet.(all of this is happening after Chapter 2. I am going to play the next Chapters when they're out, and add them to another fanfic)

The main fanfic is called Lost Souls, The First Part explaining different events from Frisk's life after they got out of the Underground, and The Second Part is going to fallow the two humans into the closet adventure! (The closet has nothing to do with lgbt, but the fanfic surely has a bunch of lgbt in it)

The Chapters 3-4 are going to get a separate fanfic, since they're gonna be AFTER the steampunk adventure. I am not even working on how to write it or any ideas, since it's going to take a long time, and it's not the biggest deal. I might not write it at all, since you get to see most of Kris's interactions in the game already, but who knows?

I got inspired to make this AU after I finished TOH(The Owl House), and also I liked the idea of humans with magic that UnderMate has. So yeah, I kinda combined those two with Undertale and my creativity, and I got this AU!

ah it was never about being secretive, i'm pretty open about my drawing process since gatekeeping knowledge is a big pet peeve of mine. It was more like,, laziness because writing a cohesive and helpful drawing tutorial is pretty difficult and i wouldn't even know where to start; i'm afraid i'll get maybe too technical and what have you.

As for tips for beginners, i've shared plenty on my couriouscat so you can scroll through the answers there, i also have some drawing timelapses on my twitter account as well (albeit you'll have to scroll a little)

I'm very flattered you feel that way about my art, it really means a lot to me and i'm glad to have inspired you to draw as well that's awesome and i wish you best of luck!

I actually don't know how different drawing on an iPad is compared to a graphic tablet+desktop, so I am actually pretty clueless in that regard. I think Procreate is the most used digital art app for iPad so you can start by getting it and familiarizing yourself with the UI. I think this step is often overlooked. The brushes and the chosen program can make or break the drawing experience. If you simply find yourself not enjoying Procreate, experiment with other apps or maybe try switching to a graphic tablet, maybe that feels better and is more suited to your tastes.

To be completely honest, one "bad" piece of advice that i should probably keep to myself is to draw something you actually enjoy: fanart, Pretty Girl Portrait(tm), your cat, landscapes etc even if it's above your skill level (becoming obsessed/ fixated on some character from a piece of media also works wonders i'm just gonna throw that out there). The main point is to actually care about your chosen subject in order to get inspired and to have that inner desire of "doing them justice" aka drawing them well. The traditional art learning route probably involves studying the fundamentals, shading spheres and cones and simple 3D forms blablbablah which. Yeah ! sure that's probably better advice but i'm telling you what will make you want to keep going and not get discouraged after a few failed attempts.

As for the drawing subject, I highly recommend having photo references to guide you.. you always need refs it's a recurring thing. My fastest artworks are the ones where I have the right references. the less references the more difficult it is to draw something

As a beginner it is also a good practice to draw OVER your photo reference to get the proportions right ( i'm not talking about literally tracing the contour of a face or limb ( just an example ), but moreso identifying the Main shape which makes up that body part and observe how long is it in respect to the other components, how does it connect to the other parts etc - big difference. Tracing won't help you in the long run).

Another thing you can do is to study your favourite artists and see how They tackle whatever it is that you like in their work. how do they simplify facial features? what about anatomy? color/ light etc and kinda reverse engineer your way through their process. ( but i highly recommend to just keep these practice sketches to yourself, and to not share them on social media- unless you get the artist's permission)

This is how i got into drawing and what i did back then, again, for more technical hands-on information i did answer similar CCs before so with a little bit of stalking you'll find them in no time

GUESS WHO'S BACK?

well, PROBABLY back. these past few months the AU spent in hiatus was mostly due to my interest in hiveswap fading due to how much i dislike the homestuck community in general. but honestly, this project was too good to abandon and kinda want to give it a try again. however, updates may be reeeally slow since im more focused on other projects now, i have new hyperfixations and also new resposibilities (having finished high school and all.) and also because i spend way too much time reading.

anyways, some changes will be occuring. as you may know, my initial idea was for this to be made in video episodes format, but not because i am a huge lazy fuck but also because i am now REALLY busy regarding other things in my life, i want to switch to a more simple style. Some pictures and the dialogue in the text below, like homestuck. I wont do the pixel style though.

I'll be remaking episode 2 to better fit that style and onwards, the episodes (or rather parts now ig) will be like that. I'm keeping the first episode because it was too cool to archive. Also, the character sheets will also be remade since I wanna try some new ideas for those aswell. also kind of insane that this project started 6 months ago already?? damn time really flies man

again, no promises made here. updates may take absolutely forever since i am very busy with other drawings, projects and just life in general, and also because im no longer that interested in this media anymore, mostly because of the fandom than anything. ive got other fixations now. but who knows? maybe ill drop something sometime soon... you just need to be patient and stay tuned ;)

Character ai is a mess. I went back to it and lost myself in it again, but I'm back now but idk for how long. So I'm gonna like speedrun all of my writing and editing for this and the 2nd chapter. Is it too late to kick him out? He stares up at you and smirks. You can feel your face get ready as the embarrassment hits. You can't be seriously asking for him to tag along.

You might as well beg for him to come.

“Can you please, come with me? I would appreciate it, if you can. I'll even buy something for you.”

It took everything in you to stare back at him. The urge to smack him increased when his smirk widened.

How the fuck did you two got married in the future?

“Oh, of course, I will come along. Especially when you asked so nicely.” He stands up and heads to the front door, giving you one last glance.

You sigh and try to calm down. Ever since running into him, your day has been…well you can't even describe it. Was it bad? Good? Meh?

You lock the door and catch up to Monkey King, who was waiting for you on the sidewalk. He gives you a soft smile.

“So which way are we going?”

“There's a small market nearby. It's just a short walk, 5 minutes tops.”

You walk off and try to block out any thoughts of how you prefer that smile on his face.

Monkey King nods and follows you.

“So what are you planning for dinner? I'm not much of a cook but I can help!” He stares at you with that same soft expression.

What the hell happened?! Why is he acting all calm and sweet all of a sudden?

You continue to ignore your thoughts and how your heart was fluttering.

“I don't know, I guess we'll find out when I buy the groceries. I'm not much of a cook either. I just fall asleep and skip dinner for most nights.”

“I don't think that's healthy for a human.” He mutters. You can see he wanted to say something more.

“Maybe, but I never had a reason to make dinner. A snack or takeout was enough.”

“So why not tonight?”

“Well…” You felt nervous and embarrassed. “It's been a while since I had someone over at my house so I just thought…that maybe I should do something different- something special.” You didn't need to see your face to know you were blushing. You wanted to scold yourself for getting all flustered for no reason yet all your thoughts stopped when you glanced at Monkey King.

He stares at you with wide eyes.

“You're cooking dinner because of me?” His eyes seem to shine like stars. Beaming with fondness and affection. “Looks like someone is falling for me.”

“What?! I just met you!” You nudge his shoulder. You wanted to get mad or at least annoyed but you just laughed. Monkey King laughs with you as he bumps his shoulder with yours. “Sneakily” holding your hand. Intertwining his fingers with yours, his grasp firm.

You smiled at him and held his hand back. Leaning on his shoulder as you both walk to the grocery store.

Even though you two spent an hour there. You enjoyed his company. Monkey King, helping by grabbing items or just joking around and having fun. What had always been a chore for you, felt fun when he joined along.

Okay, maybe you're starting to understand why you married this idiot.

Also, you managed to buy a little more than usual since he could carry a lot of things. That was a huge plus for you, since you refuse to use your car for anything. Does that thing even work? Oh, wait, pretty sure you lost the key to it and are too lazy to get a new one.

“Thank you again for helping to carry the bags back. You can place it on the counter.”

“You bought a lot of things, how empty is your fridge?”

“Shhhh, we don't talk about that. I bet you don't even have a fridge, so don't judge.”

“There's literally nothing in here.” He said placing a few items in the fridge.

You blow a raspberry at him and put the refrigerated items in the fridge.

“I told you I usually eat a snack or takeout. I hardly cook.”

“Is it because you don't know how to cook? How worried should I be, when you serve me my plate?”

You roll your eyes.

“If you're so worried, then I won't serve you anything.”

“Hey now, I said, I would be worried but that won't stop me from eating it. Edible or not, you're serving me food you made! No way I'm passing that opportunity. Maybe I can pretend, my darling spouse made me the best dinner after a long day of work.”

“Ha-ha, very funny. Are we really going to roleplay being an old married couple or what? We barely met, Monkey King.”

“Wukong, you can call me Wukong.”

You raise a brow at him.

“Alright, Wukong. So we are on a first-name basis now huh?”

“I mean-” He glances away, but you can see his cheeks turning red. “I really want to have a relationship with you and it'll be weird having you calling me by my title.”

It was weird to see him so…embarrassed and flustered. Throughout this whole day, he has been teasing you. Maybe there were a few moments when you saw him more softly. You just laughed and ruffled his fur in his head.

“I guess you're right about that, so Wukong it is then. Now put on a show we can watch while I cook. Nothing fancy or crazy, just some regular easy and fast food.”

Wukong chuckles as he heads to the living room.

“Alright, fine, but no complaints about what I pick.”

You put away the groceries and left the ingredients out. Once in a while, glancing at the tv to see what Wukong was searching for. You head to the trash can to throw something away when you spot the stuffed toy.

A part of you felt bad for throwing it away but another part of you felt embarrassed that you even bought the toy. What would Wukong think? Would he tease you about it or be hurt that you threw it away? That's if he found out. I wonder what will be the consequences for this?
