one thing that took me embarrassingly long to learn is "sometimes when people say things, they will not be true."

I used to tell people about this revelation and they'd be like yeah.....duh.....but like, why wouldn't my base assumption be that you're communicating to me in a straightforward manner. anyway, I get scammed a lot.

#example: a 'friend' in middle school told me I should ask a guy out. she said 'he'll totally say yes'.#he did not. which was the obvious outcome #but it took me years to realize that she'd said that hoping to fuel some drama for her own entertainment.#ANOTHER EXAMPLE #a guy in college approached me saying that he'd been seeing me around campus but was always too shy to talk to me #and that he really wanted to get to know me #so I was like wow 🥺 romance 🥺 and hopped into bed with him #and afterward I was like what do you wanna do 😊 should we see a movie 😊 should we go out 😊#and he was like nope. byeeee.#and I realized I got bamboozled into sex #total shocked pikachu face #I'm still not the best at this tbh. I'm like 'why would this person lie to me. lying is bad'.#anyway this is why I not looking forward to entering the dating world again #DONT BAMBOOZLE ME I'M GULLIBLE

i think its so funny when people take the way donnie acts at face value even though its a horrible lie because he's a horrible liar, while understanding leo is bullshitting very well despite him actually being GOOD at bullshitting. many such cases

#personal #rottmnt #although tbf its probably because with leo its unpacked more thoroughly in the movie #donnie is not a morally ambiguous emotionally unavailable bad boy. he is very sensitive actually #he's a little crybaby /aff #and like this isnt hidden. he isnt SECRETLY sensitive or secretly caring its very out in the open actually #he's not hiding it well AT ALL AND THEY ALL KNOW IT LMAOOOOOOOO #i think donnie's perception of himself is somewhat earnest and somewhat. not? he DEFINITELY thinks he's more evil than he actually is #BGHFHDHGJFHG #i think what causes him to lash out and struggle to communicate is his inability to articulate his feelings #they are just too big for him. like its the exact opposite of robotic #he cant force himself to give a fuck but when he DOES its too much #so he yells and lashes out or he shuts down completely #honestly i think the perception of him being too sensitive being a problem makes way more sense than the perception of him being 'robotic'#when it comes to struggles in how his family sees him at least #even in little ways you can see him take it pretty personally when he's insulted #he struggles to blow things off #and i think it would also explain his tendency to like. visibly calm himself down when he gets upset? its a thing he does a lot in the show #he desperately wants to destroy that perception of him because he's trying so hard to close himself off #he doesn't want to be the sensitive one that cant take anything. it especially works in line with his shell #it was a big inspiration for canary continuity tbh. donnie should struggle with being the sensitive one in fic more #mikey is more empathetic and he's more emotional but donnie's quicker to feel offended or take things personally #BACKED UP HEAVILY BY CANON #that 'you can be honest with me! no hard feelings' - 'he's lyinggggggg'#like he's not upset with them babying him as much as he is with them genuinely finding it frustrating that he can fall behind like that #and just cannot take shit like that. so he tries to pull back and not seem as affected as he is #theyre a very cuddly family but mind you they can be actually mean to each other like that!!

HE'S SO SORRY!!!! and yet he can't bring himself to look at charles in the eye because he gets too emotional #and also the second erik says 'for what happened' charles breaks eye contact too #they are hurting so bad and they can't look at each other in the eyes without getting emotional.................. i'm so normal about them

feelin kinda sad so eating an obscene amount of pasta

#YukiPri rambles #it's nothing serious #just have had a stream of unfortunate disappointments #nothing major and each time i'm like well ok that could have been worse and i'm glad it wasn't #but the cumulative result is just me kinda feeling droopy inside despite trying to continue lookin chipper outside #'wilted' i think is best descriptor for me rn #trying to tell myself that retail therapy isn't the answer here #In case folks are curious #the disappointments are:#1) dad was in a car accident and no one was hurt but gave me a huge scare #2) was given a day off at work in exchange for working a weekend and was looking forward to both #but they asked me last minute nevermind come in instead and i had to cancel all the plans i'd made and couldn't reschedule #3) movie i wanted to see on said day off is no longer playing in local theaters so it's either convince mum to drive an hour or give up #4) had an afternoon tea planned with mum and her friends and was looking forward to it for a month and only eating out this month #had reservations and outfit picked out and everything #but then a few days before landlord scheduled repairs for that day and wouldn't listen when we said we had plans #so i stayed home so mum could go and i'm glad she could go but sad #5) went to work this morning and there'd been a flood in the office from a customer leaving the bathroom sink running #and the torrent of water came down on my desk specifically ruining all of my books/personal stuff #i got reimbursed but it's just really sad bc some of those things were free/gifts that i can't get back and i hate throwing out books #especially ones i never got to read but they were completely drenched through and unsalvageable...#6) had an outing planned this weekend i was really looking forward to but we probably can't go bc weather is bad #i think there were a few others but that's most of the big ones #i am wilted and just want to curl up and not move

IT WASNT!#YOU HAVE TO HAVE PRIME TO BUY OR RENT IT NOW TOO!#HOW ARE THEY DOING THIS AND WHY ! who in the world is watching this movie so much that isnt me that they have to charge for it now #on all platforms unless you straight up pirate it #and hey why would i of all people be needing to pirate a movie i own physically two times and digitally once #this is literally a personalized attack to me #and my mom was like i understand how you feel cause yeah thats really weird to do to a 1985 movie #and im like yes exactly i have morals and principles that make me opposed to this and its v maddening #and she said she understood and its ok next time we are having power issues and i have to shut down #that if i really wanna watch it i can rent it on her amazon account and i looked at her and shes like oh you feel v strongly about this #and i do! I got bored so I made a little chart of frequently seen eyes and their details in Professor Layton!

#professor layton #some of these were hard. melina SUCKED bc it looks triangular w the picture provided but its more-so almond in the movie itself #but sometimes it looked like it was tethering on the edge of rectangular #I SWEAR theres more characters with almond eyes but. a lot of the images out there were bad quality #general rule of thumb i used is if it looks like i need to draw it in two strokes then its probably almond-shaped #by the way on a /srs note layton fandom has been absolutely amazing and everybody is generally super respectful and sweet #but this sheet is only meant as a “heres some cool patterns i noticed” and for those who want inspiration #if i see yall start to use this sheet as a weapon thats unacceptable and i will take this post down. fullstop #thats all :3c thank you!!

My predictions for reevesverse Robin in order of what I think is most to least likely

No Robin :(

They want the more grounded nature of post crisis Jason’s background + the inevitable tragedy but Dick is the first Robin so we end up with a character that is essentially Jason Todd but named Dick Grayson. BTAS Timmy Todd 2.0

We get a true Dick Grayson but they take some of the whimsy out of it. So the maybe the Graysons aren’t circus performers but something else. Maybe Bruce doesn’t meet Dick until a little after his parents are dead instead of immediately at the circus and we never see the circus at all :/

We get a true Dick Grayson origin story circus and all baby (this is low on the list because I think it’s unlikely but I can and will dream)

skip over Dick to go with Jason

all this goes without saying that no matter which Robin we get if we get them at all they’re probably going to be aged up to an older teen and we’re not gonna get true child endangerment :(

#Although to my knowledge reevesverse already has a Jason-esque character in The Penguin so maybe that means they’ll avoid a repeat #(they want my boy’s swag so bad. There are Jason Todd’s everywhere for those who have eyes to see them)#I want them to just do an honest Dick origin story so bad but dc comic book movie directors hate whimsy for some reason so who knows #The children yearn for child endangerment Mr. Reeves #Also let me know if Robin has already been confirmed for 2nd movie I could be completely wrong about my 1st prediction #the batman 2022 #reevesverse #Dc #Batman
