hey can someone tell me how to properly do image IDs? i want to reblog stuff w IDs to make them more accessible but i dont know how to do them in a way that conveys all necessary info

like if someone posts a screenshot of a tweet would it be like

[ID: a screenshot of a twitter post by [username]. the post reads [post content]. end ID]

or is that not specific enough? the wrong info included or incomplete info or?

i want to ask people who use screenreaders directly (or those who benefit from image ids period), but i also dont want to go into their askbox and put the burden of educating me on them if that makes sense? but ive tried to educate myself on it and keep seeing lots of info from lots of diff sources ab lots of diff things and i just dont know what the census is?

also please if someone can educate me on ways to make my textposts more accessible aswell and what text-based things i should provide alt texts for i would appreciate that sm aswell!!! because i know if someone types in leetspeak or leetspeek or wtv (the way terezi from homestuck does) i need to provide alt text but are there others?

i’m really sorry to post this, but i am struggling a lot right now and i could use some help. my job search has come to a standstill because i no longer have a reliable means of transportation. i have been using what little money i have left to help buy food for my family. i don’t know what i’m going to do once it’s all gone

The thing that gets me about history and humanity is that you never know what is immortalized, and the things that will be immortalized are things you would never think.

I saw a person sharing a new tattoo, and it was one of Onfim's drawings. A boy who lived so long ago he is barely a blip now, but his drawings meant so much to people that somebody is now permanently marked in their skin with one of those drawings. Do you ever look at the things you make and just sit there and wonder if this is the thing that future people look at? Do you ever look at your art, your writing, your schoolwork, or anything that is yours and just wonder who will find it, who will fall in love with a piece of your humanity and become overwhelmed with emotion over? It's not unlikely. It's not totally unlikely that somebody will find a piece of you in the distant future and devoid of any other context of who you were will still love you because you were here. You were here, and you are still here, even hundreds or thousands of years later. Treat yourself with the same love that so many have for dear Onfim.

Today I’m thinking about my aunt. For much of her life, she lived a very “small” existence. She worked the same job for 40 years, at a dry cleaners near her home. She didn’t like to travel much. She had to have things done just so, from folding towels to putting away groceries. It was hard for her to let anyone else do things because they didn’t do it right. Her family shook their heads about her. Her sisters fought with her about her “sad life” many times through the years.

When she died, so many people came out and said how much she meant to them. How kind she’d been to them. How she gave the best relationship advice, even though she’d been single most of her life. She was a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on for so many in her community. She would be dearly missed.

All my life I’ve been told that if I didn’t watch it I’d “end up like aunt Nita” and you know what? I hope I do. No, she wasn’t perfect. There are things that I hope to be different in, but who gets to decide what makes a life meaningful? She was happy. She made a lot of other people happy. And whenever I reach out to those around me in the small ways that are available to me, I feel her spirit moving along with me <3

when you block someone from your main it should automatically block them on all your sideblogs too. you should have to manually go into your sideblog’s settings to unblock someone you have blocked on main rather than the other way around

WIP Logs

Going to start documenting my WIPs on tumblr now :) I would post WIPs to Twitter and delete them when I upload the finished piece to keep the media tab uncluttered but I thought I should log them on here too, for actual safekeeping. Also because I just like seeing the process of something and I want to treat these WIPs more preciously.

↑I realize this because whenever I record the process for an ambitious piece I would play the recording back as I go, and it helps me catch things I might have missed while deliberating on the drawing, especially during the earlier stages; things like composition layouts that change as I move things around, or painting details that get lost as I stay zoomed in for a time. Then I backtrack and fix whatever those miscalculations are. It makes the drawing so much better for it!

It's kind of like having fresh new eyes on your work to actually see the changes as you make them. Recording is a super valuable tool if you have the hardware capacity for it :)

transphobia aside, its also a huge pet peeve of mine when people are like “oh tee hee i havent actually engaged with the canon material at all aside from maybe a few clips on youtube, but ive decided the canon is stupid shit anyways and fanon is all that matters!” like not only does that just feel disrespectful and rude for no good reason, especially in the context of indie creators, but it personally annoys me as someone who always overthinks this shit and has several tabs open when im just making headcanons or whatever, let alone writing a fic. like you just dont care? what’s the point, then?
