In light of recent developments in twst's story chapters (A.K.A. Book 7.5 WTF) I've decided to finally talk about some ideas for Book 8 that had been plaguing my mind since march😅...

The main idea is how, after Book 7, both Idia and Ortho tried to understand how the hell NRC students managed to defeat 7 OVERBLOTS with ZERO casualties (almost, but Lillia got better), and yet they still haven't managed to beat RSA.

The answer? DORMS.

You see, while NRC is know for its competitive students who can't seem to get along, let alone exist in the same room without starting a fight, there is a sense of camaraderie present in the dorms, the "I'd go to hell for you, but I wish you'd stop going there you IDIOT" type of camaraderie, that is.

I mean, the main reason the dream segment went so well was because they went by dorm order, like, can you imagine if the dream team started the Heartslabyul chapter with Riddle's dream? Aside from whatever Grim and Yuu could tell the others, they wouldn't even know Riddle basically erased his entire life...

Anyway, now that they established this point, they just have to use it for the Interschool Spelldrive team. Which leads to a team comprised of the overblotters (we're praying that their shared experience as overblot victims, dormleaders and whatever they managed to glean from Book 7 will be enough), and a NRC Tribe 2: Overblot Edition.

And that's how Book 8 would include two main plots, with the A plot following Yuu and the first years investigating the mirror, Mickey and the Overblots, and the B plot following the shenanigans of the overblotters and Grim (yes, this would be the first Book that separates Grim and Yuu, assuming Grim will overblot, we need to tackle his abandonment issues).

what im saying, aphrodite is and has always been a war goddess. new rome and camp jupiter probably have given venus the minerva treatment. so frank meeting a child of venus/aphrodite who welcomes violence as a means to protect his loved ones instead of being the stereotypical “pretty but useless” idea would be inherently disturbing to anyone not used to seeing it

Another way that Mihawk’s perfectionism and obsessiveness rears its head is that he wanted Shanks to love him best.

Realistically in terms of people Shanks was probably all Mihawk had and so by default he loved him best but Shanks has so many people an ever growing list of people that he loves and where does Mihawk fall on that list? It’s easy to belive for a long time that he’s at the top. After all it’s him that Shanks keeps crossing oceans for. It’s him that Shanks comes back to again and again testing steel against steel, skin and skin. And things are good

But then Shanks goes to lay low in a little village in the east blue and meets a little boy.

And Mihawk doesn’t even know that he’s “lost” till it’s too late. Until Shanks has already sacrificed an arm and a hat for that boy and how could Mihawk ever compete with that?

And what’s the point of competing if you can’t win? If you can’t be the best?

Seen a few people too many discuss the concept of Dragodile Baby 2 and my hot take is that there's no way in hell Crocodile would ever detransition just to go through nine months of horrible dysphoria again, let alone go through pregnancy ever again (or allow Ivankov to even touch him, what if they died and weren't able to trans Croc's gender again afterwards? I am going tobe absolutely fucking real I don't think describing the experience of a significant amount of trans people as legitimate is appropriate to frame as 'running cover for taking away medical care from those who need it'. Both statements made here are, in fact, a radical perspective on the right to bodily autonomy.

I definitely understand where it's coming from because there's a lot of attempts to use the fact that you CAN be trans without medically transitioning to sneakily tack on transphobic rhetoric ('yeah testosterone makes you ugly' 'a neopenis/neovagina doesn't even 'work' what's the point' '[transmasc cryptoterfs and co making thinly veiled attempts to describe HRT/top surgery as mutilation of your precious 'Female' Body and corruption of your mind via introducing the Evil 'Male' Chemicals]'). I would also very much agree that agitating for full access to and the lifesaving necessity of trans medical care is a central, critical issue, and takes priority over assurances that you don't Have to medically transition.

That shouldn't come at the expense of framing trans people who do not medically transition/do not undergo a 'full' transition as somehow regressive or damaging to the trans community by expecting THEIR OWN exercise of body autonomy to be respected. You do know that trans people who do not transition do not structurally benefit from this in any capacity right? It MIGHT provide a very basic safety net as maintaining plausible deniability in passing as a cis person of the wrong gender (often with associated emotional tolls) and that's it. Attacks against transitional medicine aren't on the basis of 'I'd be fine with the transgenders if they just didn't go on HRT/get surgery', it is the head of the spear being used to remove us (and most SPECIFICALLY and pointedly trans women) from existence. The end goal is to, at the very least, force trans people completely into the closet via a culture of transphobic violence and lack of access to medical care, and at best to fully eradicate us one way or another.

like for example a really common statement is "roronoa zoro has no interest in women" and that's just... straight up not true. it can come from both queer people and straight people (its one of those statements that the reasoning changes but both sides say). zoros narrative is notably feminist and he's over-invested in women to the point of coming off as dismissive, sometimes.

his interactions with nami are example A, he is overinvested in a womans ability to best him. its the reason why my friend jokingly calls his obsession with nami psychosexual. famously the arlong park scene is an example of his over-eagerness to have a woman have power over him regardless of what he thinks of that. "you couldve been a serial killer, but i'm going to attempt suicide so you can save me"... his relationship to nami parallels sanji so clearly to the point arlong park is the first time they have parallels and it's them arguing about nami.

example B is tashigi obviously, he's too over-invested in her as someone who looks like kuina and tries to distance himself from that aggressively. example C is his interactions with kiku, psychosexual obsession with women being better/besting him comes back as he deliberately pushing her buttons, like he does with nami, to get her to show off her skills.

I've definitely seen some fanon-verse takes of Saeru in the past with him chilling in the MekaDan's base like a cat ^^

So basically, fanon-verse Saeru begrudgingly helps with the MekaDan's chores and cooking when urged to help out.

I've mainly seen it in fanon-verse settings where it's just focused on the MekaDan's daily life shenanigans.

The idea of the Mekakushi Dan having fanon-verse Saeru lying around as a lazy bum type cat snek is so funny 🐈‍⬛🐍

Workaholic Saeru

I have canon-verse Saeru as a workaholic in my own interpretations, because I headcanon that he feels bored all the time and constantly craves stimulation.

So he tries to occupy himself by tinkering with tech, building robots, and making little gadgets and such.

Due to his knowledge, he's able to improve current existing human technologies by making his own upgrades.

He works on them in his own lab 🧪🥼🔬

Me: Yeah same here. I think with canon-verse Saeru, I mainly see him as devoted.

I like the fact that this is his form of showing his devotion to his Master(s), even if in the most (misguided) and twisted way.

With fanon-verse Saeru, in a setting apart from KagePro's angst that takes place in a slice of life setting where he chills with the MekaDan, is generally an inconvenience, and generally causes them trouble.

So this kind of setting is a more lighthearted/comedic/fluffy slice of life setting

KagePro's Final Route (HCs)

I don't know much about HH, but I always imagined in my personal HCs that since Saeru is the creation of Azami, I like interpretations/takes where he's the Kozakura family's guardian figure in the Final Route of KagePro (post-canon)

It's not "redemption" (which I think he should never have - canon-verse Saeru should just stay as an irredeemable pure evil since he is more compelling that way), like he's very much the same (still very evil), but he just runs around like an unhinged gremlin instead.

And he still causes problems for the others but it's more contained.

So I still have him as evil and insane, but he's holding back his murderous tendencies and keeping them contained.

I tinkered with things a bit in my own setting, so that it'd keep with KagePro's core/central theme-ing of "The existence of hope in the presence of tragedy."

I imagined him possessing tech (via android bodies he makes) so that he can still exist.

I see it as his way of finally making up for his past karma, by finally doing good deeds this time for the sake of his Master(s), by putting his knowledge to good use (other than using it solely for his own selfish/self-serving desires lol)

(Ofc, he wanted to continue the time loop tragedy forever, and has no remorse about that fact. Like I imagine he didn't want to do this lol, but I imagined that it was the only option he could take for him to continue existing after being "defeated." If it means he can still live, then why not. So he begrudgingly took the offer.)

(Maybe Mary or Azami herself presented this option to him. At first he thinks that their proposal of 'finding his own meaning to life' is ridiculous, but since he can still live a more "quiet existence," he might as well take whatever offer he can get.)

sorry for having the best ideas in the entire world but i'm still a little disappointed by the route taken re: sadness infiltrating hq in inside out 2. like yes i know the movie was going in a different direction and too much emphasis on sadness would have likely risked recycling material from the first one, but the visual of her having more screen time with anxiety... potentially even being convinced into a collaboration, rather than just being shoved into a bucket and ignored...

like. i'm just thinking about how anxiety already approaches sadness in canon– with this (semi condescending but shh) understanding, clambering next to her and acknowledging that 'i know riley sneaking around feels wrong' before gently extracting ennui's tablet from her grasp– and now i'm just envisioning an anxiety who stays a little truer to this faux 'understanding' technique, who keeps a little closer to her manipulative roots (which we already know she has, thanks to her whole apology scene with val). who maybe notes the fraught relationship between joy and sadness, and what does sadness mean how does she know that? when anxiety said she was such a big fan of joy sadness didn't think she only meant joy, right? no, anxiety has been watching them all for a while now. and joy– yes, okay, joy had to go. joy is outdated, joy is working on an obsolete blueprint for riley's success. but sadness? anxiety always thought she had more... long-term potential. what potential? well, can't sadness tell? by seeing the worst of the world, all the things riley has to be upset about, riley can also be inspired to rise above it, and work even harder so it doesn't happen to her! and sadness also provides catharsis breaks, moments where riley can reflect on where she can do and be better than before. with anxiety and envy's help sadness can finally have a true seat at the console. doesn't she want that? and joy– sure, the two of them might be doing better lately. but she still only indulges sadness, she still sent her on this scapegoated mission in the first place. she's still only approaching sadness either when she has to or when she can get something out of her, isn't she? well, it wouldn't be like that, with anxiety. or with any of them! embarrassment already likes her, see? he's already sticking up for her, and he barely even knows her. they could all be that, for sadness. she could finally belong.

i'm just envisioning a sadness who doesn't get the tablet taken away from her, but rather ends up slowly handing it over. after all, negative emotions have to stick together, right?

i don't have a reddit account but will often browse subreddits for my Niche Expensive Collection-Based Hobbies when bored, and recently stumbled across a thread where OP said they have ADHD and wanted to know how people limit themselves to only a few usable things a month.

to me, because i also have ADHD, this is clearly a "how can i force myself to have impulse control" question. to people without ADHD, it's someone pretending to have a question so people talk about themselves and they get to have a popular thread for fake internet points.

and that is so frustrating to me, because it makes me remember every single time i'd ask for actionable advice on something i was struggling with, only to get people answering with bullshit like "if you aren't organized you should try being organized :)" or "i don't have problems remembering that kind of stuff at all :)" which is incredibly unhelpful and was hurtful as a child and infuriating as an adult. i asked a question. i want an answer to that fucking question.

thankfully some people did give that person actual advice they could use, but those comments were far enough down i had to go looking for them. people like to act like ADHD is just a quirky forgetfulness character flaw and not an actual disability that can be distressing to live with.
