Dominic had not shown up to work for weeks now.

His sister had called the husband of his boss, explaining everything, despite her own wretched emotions about the situation. He was grateful for that. He'll make it up to her eventually.

Where the fuck was their brother? He promised that he won't disappear on them. Not without telling them first.

Marcus and Oliver seemed to take it the best, with one barely caring about the man and the other not being old enough to even recognize him as family.

But still, Dominic remained rotting in bed. He could barely move.

Since they were kids, he took a great shine to Adam, wanting to impress him at every chance. The poor guy was more of a father to him than their actual one. To all of them.

A knock on the door draws him from his thoughts, and he turns around to face it upon hearing the hinges creak.

"Hey. Someone's at the door for you," Elizabeth says softly and closes it when he grunts in acknowledgement.

It takes all his energy to roll out of bed minutes later.

He catches glimpse of his reflection in the mirror.

Dominic looks... Rough. Unkempt.

His hair looking like a crow's nest, the once fuzzy tail looking matted. Clothes on his back wrinkled.

He sighs deeply and just trudges on.

The past month has been... Bad.

Thoughts of making himself presentable go ignored and with great effort, he stumbles into the hallway.

Liz smiles at him from the kitchen and ushers him along, glad to at least see her big brother up and walking again.

"Come in, come in!"

His ears pick up on the voice of someone familiar. Someone dear to him.

All at once, he's engulfed by warmth.

Hands find themselves in his hair, gripping onto him like he's their lifeline. Emotion clear.

It takes just a second for him to recognize the voice and scent, as he forwent wearing his glasses or contacts, leaving them abandoned... somewhere... in his bedroom.

"Dominic!" the voice sobs, "I was so worried! Why didn't you answer the phone? Are you okay?! What am I talking about, of course you're not!"

The werewolf feels desperate hands on his face. Hands which wipe away tears he didn't even notice he was shedding.

Nor did he notice the eyes watching him from the shadows.

And for his own sake, he never should.

So a lot of political scandals just dropped in the last 24 hours

-NC Governor Candidate Mark Robinson's online posts were found, including some VERY graphic descriptions (like seriously, do not read if you're not 18) of him cheating on his wife, calling himself a black Nazi, and expressing support for reinstituting slavery. His email address was also found on Ashley Madison

-Robert F Kennedy Jr was revealed to be cheating on his wife with a reporter (and that isn't even the weirdest thing since federal law enforcement opened an investigation into him allegedly cutting off the head of a whale and taking it home with him less than 24 hours ago)

-GOP Senate candidate who is the CEO of a bank has been found accepting millions of dollars from what seem to allegedly be Mexican drug cartels.

-Finally, probably the biggest bombshell, according to multiple eyewitness testimonies within sealed sworn affadavits, Congressman Matt Gaetz allegedly invited a 17-year-old girl to a drug-fueld sex party

And we haven't even hit October, folks. Again, these are all still breaking news stories, so things are subject to change, but oh man oh man.

If my mom sees a significant amount of blood she gets lightheaded, and has fainted on some occasions. Once it happened when we were kids, I wasn't there to witness it but I heard the story from my dad. Basically my brothers, around 7 or 8 at the time, were playing outside while my mom was making their lunch, and she accidentally cut her finger. It wasn't anything serious, but it drew a fair bit of blood and she passed out. My dad saw this and rushed over, but he didn't really know what to do so he just sort of started slapping her to wake her up (not recommended, but he had no idea and panicked)

At that exact moment my brothers both came in from playing, and all they saw was our mom unconscious on the floor and our dad slapping her. So, like, without even saying a word to each other they both just INSTANTLY start whaling on him, like, full blown attack mode to defend our mom. Which obviously didn't help the situation, but she did wake up and everything was fine.

Now our dad says that he's actually really glad they attacked him over what they thought was going on, because it means he raised good boys. And I still think that's true, they're very good boys.
