I treat this process with great care... for each and every soft-block I consider, I check the blog to see if it's been active since the beginning of the year. The main reason I do this is because I want a more accurate read on how many people may be actively reading my writing, and how many are interested in interaction. I don't want to go crazy thinking there's over a hundred people out there I haven't interacted with yet and that I'm obliged to hit them all up.

it's been a good while hahaha-

you're probably wondering where i've been. i've been inactive for a while due to a combination of a few things, and without getting TOO personal i'd like to explain!

1. i wanted to graduate on time. i actually just graduated yestersay (the 22nd of December) 🥳 i had to take a really hardcore summer course and completely load my fall schedule which didn't leave me with a lot of time.

2. i needed to decide what hobbies to keep. i love writing and i've been trying to keep it up in my off time, but for me writing takes a lot longer than my other main hoby (illustration) so i just ended up doing that more. i still love writing and want to continue though!

3. i just kind of ended up taking a break from twst itself. i go through a lot of fixation cycles with fandoms and media, and twst inevitably went through that cycle with me. i just didn't play the game as much or follow updates as closely anymore. but i still love the game and the characters and especially the fandom! i've been slowly getting back into it so i don't experience another complete drop.

4. i had a lot of personal shit going on. i lost a close family member, and my close friends have all been going through some serious shit semi-recently. i'm not comfortable going into too much detail but i've basically been spreading myself really thin socially. i'm a pretty introverted people, so the thought of coming back to a blog with hundreds of followers and people who are very nice and amazing but that i'll just disappoint by missing their messages and such was a bit scary. i'm in a way better place mentally now which is a big reason why i wanted to come back.

so, what now? i'm not really sure how i'll proceed on things like old requests. to start i want to go through my inbox and see if i can salvage any drafts or ideas i liked. if not i already have a few ideas floating around in my head of small holiday and winter themed ideas for everyone that i know i'll enjoy writing. i appreciate everyone who has stayed in my extended and unannounced hiatus and all the people that checked up on me (especially on discord, much appreciated fr) while i was gone. i'm so grateful to have people care about my content and me enough to ask about it :)

as for changes, i'm still deciding what i want to keep and what i want to stop doing. i think it may be a good idea to limit when my requests are open and for how long, since i would definitely get overwhelmed otherwise. but how many/how long/etc i still have to determine!

all i can do is thank you all and ask you to wait just a little longer for more normal updates as i collect the last little pieces before starting to write again.

This blog and our sideblogs will be on hiatus/inactive at least for a while.

I think being online may be a bit overwhelming for us, I don't feel like we got much out of it and its so easy for us to leave servers and block people when everything doesn't seem perfect, we don't have any actual attachment to anyone online so it's easy to just leave.

And this time at least w the discord servers I don't even feel very angry or upset, just maybe left out of anxiety and feeling like I need a change in the spaces Im in. I also wonder if in some cases I eventually get tired of a space or people and need to leave, Im not used to stability, and especially have no incentive to stay when I don't have a connection to someone.

I think currently I only feel that stability with my in sys partners, and sometimes Im still not used to that, I haven't cared about people that intensely for that long until having relationships with them.

We see a concerning amount of people hold views we can't agree with, and have been blocking these people as well as just ppl whose posts were not things we were interested in / may have been things we disliked or were triggered or repulsed by. We have blocked so many followers and unfollowed or blocked some ppl we followed because of these things, and its just better for us this way.

We haven't liked being in spaces mainly with minors, but maybe that was just the nature of online aro and apl spaces as of now, and some fandom spaces. But some discord servers geared towards adults seem to imply minors are 'annoying' and I don't agree with that, it feels antithetical to youth liberation and generally just respecting people.

I just prefer interacting with adults personally, and most of the system is this way since we are an adult. I feel like Ive been around minors like for so long (body has younger siblings and we were a minor until like 3-4 years ago) that I'm preferring to be around adults because I want to feel more like Im actually an adult, and don't feel like spaces with more minors are for us.

I think maybe I just got a bit tired of being around the age group of 'my age and younger' for so much of my life its like I don't want a repeat of that. I don't know anyone I really trust outside the system(not a priority to find this either), and I've never had an older adult mentor figure I could trust in my life, and I don't even know if I want that since some older adults may see me as 'like their child' and I'm afamilial. I'm also plato repulsed and it doesn't appeal to me to just hang out with people, I may be more plato repulsed than I thought (extending more into some things seen as friendship) which is really saying something.

This doesn't mean minors and youth are prone to always having views we disagree with (although we understand there are some reasons minors may be less likely to be informed about things or be influenced by the way the world has been, but that goes for any age group and/or culture in different ways) or that adults cannot interact in appropriate ways with minors, its just personal preference. I don't feel like on purpose interacting w minors in online spaces, and I don't even seek online interaction w anyone much to begin with. I think often, we just like talking about our interests and maybe like the attention we may get from people online.

There's nothing else we find positive about it, and the way online spaces can become very invested in discourse is.. irritating and like yeah I do talk about discourse and have opinions on it (not much posting abt on main, but used to a bit more in vent channels or other channels on discord servers) myself it's just maybe I want to avoid it for now since it doesn't seem like a good use of time or energy.

I want to avoid people who very obviously have opposing views to ours or make space for those who do for some topics at least, and I don't want people to target us for not agreeing with them. Frankly, I'm seeing a lot of harmful attitudes from so-called leftists and generally people in the mogai community, especially usamericans.

Anyways, all this is to say we will probably be taking a break from tumblr and discord or at least try it out for a bit, see if it feels better than being online a lot.

Hey so this is kind of an announcement. I hope that I don't regret it after posting this as well haha.

So a lot of my irl friends and family do not know that I am trans. Some of my online friends don't really even know. I trust you guys with this information and I hope that I don't regret telling you all, but @gateway-artist (most active) and @gateway-artist-nsft (hardly post to since I don't have a lot of nsft art inspirations, pretty inactive and I need to update it tbh) are me. I was originally an artist and my main blog was a Star Wars-related one. I would post fanfics there and share my art, but it seemed that my art got most of the attention and I kind of hated that. I already got attention for my art from family and friends and on my Instagram, so I deleted that account and made this one about a year later. Along with making a blog designated for my art.

I love that I have made such close friends on here, and I would love to share all of my creations with you all without the repercussions of followers from that account finding this blog and seeing how unhinged I am - or the wrong person finding out I am trans. I am moving out in a little less than a year which is why I am posting this. With the support from @joelsgeetar and @anaivenymph over this topic I decided it wouldn't hurt to share this with you guys. Plus, I have a TWD comic in the makes that I wanted to write a bit for!

An explanation as to why I pretended to be my own cousin, it was for safety reasons. As said before, not many know I am trans. They just think I am a butch lesbian or a tom-boy. I still wanted to share my art but I was afraid someone would find my account or see that I posted stuff that looked like my own (photos from my home, my clothing, knives, etc.) so I just said I was my own cousin so questions wouldn't be raised. It was a safety protocol, but I trust you guys enough and really really want to share all of my creations with you guys. For those that read I hope this makes sense and thank you!

I do still have my old names/pronouns on those blogs as well. I also do go by Ani as much as Orian since Ani is sorta just a goofy name I got when I was in the Star Wars fandom so you may see people on that blog call me that or see me tag stuff as "ani's art" and call myself such over there if you do happen to check out the blog. I don't go by my deadname at all online so don't think you found it lmao.

I'm going to voice a worry of mine that this ask blog is going to end up dead at some point due to various reasons. I've seen many ask blogs of this particular type end up inactive before the story is finished, and I'm merely worried if this will be one of them.

While that is a fair concern to voice, anon, you do have to realize there are a variety of reasons why it happens, most often being:

The creator has a life outside of the blog that becomes more important

Interest and time to be able to work on its fades

More applicable to this blog specifically, is that it is, ultimately, a fan-made project, and while the engagement is enough of a reward for one such as myself due to ADHD/Autism, many people can find themselves stifled should they have a stronger desire to do something they deem more productive/original

I will admit, my living situation is not Usual for most people and thus it gives me a lot of time to work on things. I live with my grandparents, so I do not have to pay bills or get my own food, and I also don't have an actual job, so I am pretty much drowning in free time--Though I do have commission work to do, and I do keep myself to a schedule for that.

However, I'll be completely honest, my energy in this blog is largely ruled by my focus and fixation in the material. There was a brief spell a while back, I think early December, where I was feeling the interest wane and it became a bit of a chore to do stuff for the blog. And trust me, I didn't like it. I felt like I was failing people if that were the case.

But the thing is... I didn't exactly expect to get this level of attention with my nonsense. Fandom as a whole, especially tumblr fandom from what I've noticed, doesn't really put OCs in the forefront, or even Fanon OCs very much, so I was fully expecting and content with maybe having a handful of regular followers watching me dance about on the stage for a bit.

Then it became this whole thing.

Now, I don't like to make promises that are dependent on the whims of my neurodiversity, because that is very much like herding cats. But I also don't exactly appreciate being told that, rather than just saying you enjoy what I do, you're already worried I won't be able to keep up the momentum. It kind of puts more of that dread on my shoulders and shame should I ever have another dry spell.

So, that being said, a couple of things I'd like to suggest that may not 100% prevent things ending before they're finished, but can definitely distract you from that worry and not place so much responsibility on me for something that, again, I started purely for fun.

Engage! You hear tumblr artists screaming it at the top of their lungs left and right, BUT THEY ARE CORRECT. I am a creature motivated by people saying they enjoy my stuff. By people proving they have been paying attention. So if you'd like me to keep up my own interest, please show yours!

Check out the stuff I do outside the blog. If you like my content, please know that this blog isn't everything I create/produce. I have other fandom characters I mess around with from time to time, I have a large variety of original stories with similar airs of drama and character-driven narratives. I've linked to it a lot, but my main is @asimplechaos, and that's where I post pretty much everything else on tumblr. While I do love this blog, and I do love making fandom content, I do also want to develop my own original content, so I would genuinely love it if people took a look because they liked my CotL stuff.

I also do art commissions, so you can provide financial support so I don't have to constantly worry about having to pause for a stretch so I can try to focus on making adopts or advertising my services in order to garner funds. They're rarely closed, and I offer a variety of things, so I can and will draw your OC if you pay me!

If this blog does start to fizzle out, I will at the very least try to, say, write up a synopsis of how things would go so the story doesn't just stop entirely. I wouldn't like that. But please, for the time being, focus on the here and now, and not worry about the future.

Dramas 2022 post

Time for the annual drama post. haha I think I massively slowed down this year because I couldn't make myself stick with dramas until the end. I think only 5 of these were in september or later? Comparing to last year it looks like K/J dramas stayed about the same but the number of chinese dramas dropped drastically. It's funny to look at 2019 where I thought 15 was slowing down and said things like "I’ve only watched 5 Korean dramas that aired this year which seems so small to me now" half way through the year. *stares at my 7 for the year*

I'm so confused about where my time went but I guess it went to traveling and work? I'm hoping that in the next couple months I can find the gems that I somehow missed this year.

Looking back on the comments that I made about what I was watching and the future, Our Beloved Summer was great and stayed good but I found them so frustrating I don't know if there's any rewatch value. Delicious Romance I loved all of them but the male leads were so crappy that I couldn't take it.

Total dramas: 24 Korean: 7 Chinese: 9 Japanese: 6

I think the dramas that are going to have made the biggest impression on me this year are Reset, Business Proposal and She and Her Perfect Husband (honorable mention to Sh**ting Stars) for a ton of different reasons.

Reset was so fun because I watched it with friends and we would pause to analyze flames and try to get ahead of where they were in the story. The cast was great everything was so well done that I've recommended it to basically anyone that has asked.

Business Proposal was almost a parody but Sejeong and Ahn Hyo Seob but their whole heart into it and it really showed. I've honestly already rewatched it twice lmao.

Finally She and Her Perfect Husband was my light shining at the end of the tunnel for cute modern Chinese dramas this year after all of the ones I could actually finish either had a smart female leads who had turned off their brains or an a**hole for a ML. When it got delayed I was so upset I didn't know what to do with myself QQ. I think the plot got too messy and the second leads were ridiculous but I love the main couple and Li Dai <3 <3

I didn't watch that many movies but of them "And so the Baton was Passed" really got me. I loved how they played with the timeline and all of her parents were so sweet. The romance part of it is pretty meh but I don't think it reduced the quality for me.

There wasn't really a Japanese drama this year that stood out to me above the rest (haven't watched Silent yet so maybe I'm just missing out) but everything I watched was really cute with a lot of heart and made my days better. Kono Hatsukoi wa Fiction desu is probably on the more garbage end plotwise but the kids are soooo cute. i've followed them all on instagram so there's no going back for me.

Time for this blog to go inactive again until next year :) (unless twitter actually dies)

4. Battles and angst roleplays dealing with injuries, emotions or anything that myself or anything can think of is allowed. I’m a big angst fan.

5. AUs - I am a big fan of roleplaying AUs as I find them a lot of fun. AUs can be anything from school, different careers to even fantasy roleplays. I am up for any type of role-playing as long as it follows my rules. Crossovers are allowed also from anime to movies as long as I know the series.

6. My writing style is paragraph since I like to add a lot of detail to them. I have a detailed roleplay style usually written in third person like using “Sanji” and he instead of talking in first person being words like I and so on. Spelling mistakes happen so no worries if they are made, I’m not gonna make a big deal out of it if they appear since I’ve made them before myself.

8. I am of age and when it comes to 18+ content that is only for blogs that become ones who are wanting to ship with Sanji. And blogs that I have been roleplaying with for quite awhile, it is something that I won't jump right into. This rule might change if I gain any mains.

9. Please feel free to remind me about forgotten replies or if I owe you a starter. I have a full time job to where I am working 4-5 days a week.

10. Just have fun! Main purpose on this blog is just to have fun roleplaying! I want to keep this blog drama free as possible because that doesn’t make things fun at all.

I block on a daily basis, even for small and petty reasons. I post whatever I want here and don’t put much thought [if any] into the things I post so if you don’t like, please just leave.

Personally, I struggle with my own mental health issues, so please be patient with me.. I am neurodivergent [most likely undiagnosed ASD or the like, but I am not born into a privileged family that will allow me to get a diagnosis] and have some really bad social anxiety, even online, which is why I can behave weirdly. Please forgive me and move on.

Regarding reblogs and tags, I am very reblog heavy!! Sometimes I will add tags like #neriblog or #neri reblog followed by tags related to the post, but sometimes I will not add any tags [this is purely out of laziness wkwkwk]. Please don’t mind if I sound insane in the tags, sometimes I get really happy or excited and I start adding a million tags which can sound super annoying… I’m sorry for that. I usually tag my own posts with #neri [whatever] though my tags are almost always inconsistent. The tags are my main place to put random thoughts and stuff don’t mind ‘em.

Anyhways, on this blog I usually post about things I’m really into [mostly my current hyperfixations]. Here and there I’ll post some art and doodles. Some things that are pretty prominent on my blog as of right now: Cobra Kai/The Karate Kid, Spy x Family, Ace Attorney, Kittisaurus, FAKE TYPE, Mouthwashing [The Game], and other stuff. Once in a while I post original characters ‘n stuff. I’m currently working on a world building project/original series called Blood Magic, so I may post stuff relating to that. Right now I am extremely hyperfixated on SxF, but the SSS First Lieutenant and Yuri Briar specifically [they are super dear to me].

5. Battles and angst roleplays dealing with injuries, emotions or anything that myself or anything can think of is allowed. I’m a big angst fan.

6. AUs - I am a big fan of roleplaying AUs as I find them a lot of fun. AUs can be anything from school, different careers to even fantasy roleplays. I am up for any type of role-playing as long as it follows my rules. Crossovers are allowed also from anime to movies as long as I know the series.

7. My writing style is paragraph since I like to add a lot of detail to them. I have a detailed roleplay style usually written in third person like using “Shoto ” and he instead of talking in first person being words like I and so on. Spelling mistakes happen so no worries if they are made, I’m not gonna make a big deal out of it if they appear since I’ve made them before myself.

8. I am of age and when it comes to 18+ content that is only for blogs that become ones who are wanting to ship with Shoto. And blogs that I have been roleplaying with for quite awhile, it is something that I won’t jump right into. This rule might change if I gain any mains.

9. Please feel free to remind me about forgotten replies or if I owe you a starter. I have a full time job to where I am working 4-5 days a week.

10. Just have fun! Main purpose on this blog is just to have fun roleplaying! I want to keep this blog drama free as possible because that doesn’t make things fun at all.

Why did you choose your URL?

MY URL was something different when I first started, but I changed it because Sian is my writing pen name and I wanted all my social media to be the same for when I start publishing my books.

How long have you been on tumblr?

I think it’s been four years. Geez, where has the time gone?

Why did you start your blog in the first place?

I stated when I first got into using poses and wanted a reason to use them. Then my story telling side took over, which is cool because it definitely requires poses and a lot of them I have to make myself.

Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

Julian is the current main character of Miss May I. I’ll be changing my PFP through the generations. 

Why did you choose your header?

I like to imagine it as a poster for Miss May I. I’ll also be changing it through the seasons.

A whole bunch. Lately I’ve been making an effort to follow back all Sims blogs unless they’re Sims 4 or 2 cc since I don’t play those.
