after the easter update, in relation to the new note from delilah- i keep seeing people depict delilah as being a really awful person who doesn't care about bassie/the toons when they aren't good enough for her. and while yeah obviously delilah is responsible for Something and also why did she make the holiday toons Like That. i think people should analyze her tone in the easter note a little more? because i feel like theres more to understand about delilah from this note and no one's seeing it.

while the first part is just about as distant as her other notes, i don't think she sounds very dismissive of bassi! her tone is mostly analytical until that last part, which is really important to me because her tone is a lot more considerate ("i know this is very last minute."), and definitely the most concerned-sounding we've heard her.
that last sentence could very well be taken as her pinning the blame on arthur and not actually caring somehow, but i do think she wrote this with at least a LITTLE concern for bassie in mind based on her wording. she specifically notes that bassie probably won't be able to handle the pressure of being a main entertainer in gardenview as expected of her and i think that delilah sounds genuinely worried about the outcome if they didn't try to work this out.
with bassies obvious fear of replacement, and clear dislike of cocoa (the only other toon with plushies of her in the easter map when usually only mains have plushies) i do think it isnt unreasonable to come to the conclusion that their solution to this was replacement, however!!! i don't think this decision was made without bassie in mind, in fact i don't think this "replacement" was wholly against bassie for being too dependent on others.
my personal theory is: while yes cocoa has plushes, very odd for a non-main toon, theres still quite a lot of bassie plushes that assumingly were still being sold every easter event in the easter gift-shop. also, bassie's design sort of implies bunny features. it's kinda weird to have a toon that somewhat looks like a bunny, and then make a straight up bunny after that. finally, bassie seems to try to hide her problems/doesn't accept any help or concern (her dialogue with astro, flutter, cocoa too ig but thats Different).
by making another bunny-like toon, giving her helpful and insistent tendencies that would contrast bassies tendency to make it seem like nothings wrong with her, and then selling her merch alongside bassie, i think they intended for cocoa and bassie to end up being a pair that would share bassies role as the easter main to take pressure off of bassie. bassie however doesn't seem to be able to let go of her inability to live up to whats expected of her and when cocoa was introduced, she ended up taking this to mean absolutely worst case scenario. not to mention, cocoa doesn't seem aware that shes meant to "replace" anyone, and while she could've just been kept in the dark about this, she also calls bassie her friend and just kinda... assumes bassie acts the way she does because its who she is.
that all being said gardenview is Twisteds & Lack Of Security Regulations Georg, the 1000 security violations and 100 abominations against nature outlier that should not have been counted so maybe the idea of the founders even SLIGHTLY making a responsible decision for a toons actual well-being and just accidentally messing it up instead of just trying to full on replace her is silly. i mean i wouldnt be surprised
#im posting fucking dandys world theories GET ME OUT OF HERE. PLEASE BE A 2 MONTH HYPERFIXATION#I NEED TO THINK ABOUT II 24/7 OR ILL DIE.#but anyways yadda yadda our only information about this decision is a characters insecurity and note from an untrustworthy woman#or so they call her. i trust her. look at that award winning smile i don't think shes done anything wrong (JOKING)#yadda yadda untrustworthy narrator yadda yadda i wanna look into this a little more#look i dont think they need to outright SAY bassie was going to be straight up replaced for me to believe it#i do believe it actually. but i also think theres a lot of room for interpretation#also i like the idea that bassie and cocoa very much would've been friends if it weren't for bassies internal torture dimension. kinda sad#also also im holding out hope for delilah having more depth rather than being straight up evil#mossball.txt#dandys world#dw#dw bassie#dw cocoa#delilah keen

Seeing you be very normal about small details in the show got me thinking about Pomni, and I was wondering if you've thought about the possibility that Pomni probably hasn't eaten in several days. Like, we know they don't NEED to eat.. but it's probably not healthy for her mentally to skip the process of 'taking care of your body'. Ragatha, for example, says that participating in sleeping despite the fact they don't need to- helps keep them mentally steady. Idk just a thought..
ooooooooh.... its a good thought!!!!!
i DO think that like. theres definitely some psychological aspects to a lot of things like eating and sleeping that i feel like tadc characters would be at risk of neglecting... like with something like sleep, i think they can go without it for a LONG time without physical fatigue BUT at the same time like. psychologically sleep is IMPORTANT. i dont know all the science of it but iirc sleep isnt just a physical need but i get the feeling thats not smth that occurs to people in the circus often :[ ragatha seems aware enough of the benefit of the routine of sleeping and how the adventures can be helpful for that to BUT i imagine even she doesnt fully realize that sleep is still pretty important for them, just in a different way
on that note i could definitely see eating being similar!!!! its not something thatll physically harm a person in the circus if they dont eat but also eating is a deeply ingrained aspect of human life, and while i struggle to place a specific problem abstaining from it for too long in the circus couls cause, i COULD imagine it being like. at LEAST psychologically disorienting. especially with jax claiming he feels hungry??? it implies that its similar to the breathing thing that they may not phsyically need to , but their mind still assumes they do....
i DO get curious if they have like. regular meals?? i liek the hc that theres some sort of kitchen in the circus (seeing the weird little couch area was SOOO exciting for me, im super invested in finding out more about the layout of the circus!!!!! i like details like that theyre FUN) so imagine theres SOME way to access food just like how they have bedrooms (though, i get the feeling caine doesnt have a complete idea of what sleep IS but thats a diff thing). but also with them having a feast at the end of the pilot could imply they do, but with that 'reward' not being brought up at ALL in the next three eps (caine has the opportunity to mention it but noticably doesnt, especially in ep 2 where he just full on Leaves after the adventure- it seems more like he just sorta congratulates people on completing adventures and makes sure everyones accounted for and calls it a day) makes me think that communal meals are NOT super common, or at the very least them being coordinated by caine isnt...
all that to say that if shes only been part of the ep 1 feast (i cannot imagine she ate i feel like she was too out of it to do Anything😭) i am unsure if shed have gone out of her way to find a kitchen... if she wanted to know i think shed feel comfortable asking ragatha about it, but i wonder if its even crossed her mind???? and i imagine that would be jarring for her to realize, and also generally psychologically Not The Best for her...
#ask#tadc#i think its not smth pomni would actively avoid BUT i could see her forgetting to#i dont know??? how much hunger they feel so it could be a minute while shes adjusting for her to even Realize how long its been...#it does honestly make me wonder if they CAN get sleepy. they can feel the need to breathe and i imagine they wouldnnt get#the physical fatigue from lack of sleep. but its just bad for ur brain to put it off too#the breathing thing in general has INTERESTING implications for things#i get the feeling a lot of it is like.. mental. but not just psychologically#smth about autonomous stuff. ur body knows what it needs to survive so even if u know ull be fine in the circus#ur bodys like . i need air or ill DIE!#so its like. how much does that apply to#how much of the circus IS influenced by ones own mind#if ur mind sends signals to the computer that 'i cant breathe' and responds accordingly...#and then it then comes back to the food thing....#(i think if pomni started thinking about this too much it would Scare Her. because it has deeply distressing implications#about ones own existence#and on top of 'i am detached from physical needs and this makes me feel partially divorced from my own humanity and it unsettles me'#its smth i think she would have to avoid thinking about too long 😭)#circus discussion

so, my non spoiler review for dawntrail:
I fucking loved it.
really and truly I think it built upon the exact themes I have loved so much from previous msq in ways that aligned perfectly for some very good symbolism and parallels. even to my own ocs! many new characters to this story reminded me of my own that I have written within this setting and I couldnt be happier about that. <3
#also if you didnt enjoy it i just ask you not come onto my post to argue with me about it#i enjoy a good back and forth about story structure i just ask that this is not the place for it#frankly i wasnt even going to say anything about my thoughts until it started feeling a little bit choking with the negativity on my feed#and in discord and twitter and everywhere else#if you didnt enjoy it im sorry! ive seen some good points about what people didnt like and theyre honestly fair#but some people seem to just be complaining to complain and i wonder why they play the game in the first place#i think its also important to keep in mind that this isnt like the end#we have a lot of story coming after this#also if youre bringing up AGAIN how much you hated stormblood i curse you to stub your toe in 15 minutes

i dont think anyones mentioned the dialogue about the rope in the cockpit. and i just wanna yap about it, bc i end up thinking about it every time i play. it doesnt even matter i just think about it.
curly's comments on the rope:
jimmy's comments on the rope:
things that i think about:
50 credits must be like. 5-20 dollars. i cannot see jimmy seriously betting 50 dollars if he could lose that. altho if everything went Fine but jimmy still lost the bet, he would totally just say something like i wasnt being serious lol or i dont remember saying that (and curly would drop it). if jimmy would win the bet and still remembers he made it, he would still expect curly to pay out (and he would)
curly thinks about jimmy with a lot of nostalgia/humor. its several months since the ship set off, and i imagine this is something jimmy brought up somewhat early on, as its mundane shoot the shit type talking and slight irritation at the job while checking stock of their supplies. something about jimmy not caring about what pony express stocks on the ship. lol why would we even need a rope. weve never touched this. i bet we never even Use it for an entire year. and curly still leaves space for the interaction in his mind.
curly has a memory of the friendship between him and jimmy when he thinks about the rope, but jimmy seemingly never reminisces about the same thing. in his mind jimmy only regards things that he cares about, and the rope is something that only exists to him when hes frustrated at it (when they first made the bet), or when needs it (the door/swansea). he may honestly not even remember he made that comment to curly. it certainly isnt as important to jimmy as it was to curly. which is interesting because this is something hes currently Winning. he has this over curly right now. why doesnt he savor this little victory over curly, if not that hes totally forgotten this moment between them?
curly also admits in good humor to himself that hes loosing. like hes also not really wanting to play in the game jimmy set up, if he felt like he wanted to win against jimmy he could easily find a reason to take the rope out. he could even just be trying to let jimmy win. letting jimmy win the bet would be easier in his mind than him winning and risking jimmy getting upset. he can reminisce the bonding moment between them at pony express, and leave it at that.
jimmy thinks the rope is Strong only when he needs it. he only thinks to compliment/describe it when he can get something from it. this is also very on the nose for jimmy. i keep wanting to come back to jimmy voice. its so blunt and straightforward but its filled to the brim with personality, especially when comparing it to curly. the protagonist's blunt descriptions of his point and click environment is standard until you get to see how curly interacts with his environment and realize damn this guy doesnt give a fuck about anything.

"But be safe. No reckless stunts."

On Sora and Riku's respective recklessness as showcased in the series, and what it means for their relationship
Under readmore because i am going to talk a lot
As an aside: Im going to be pulling from the Japanese text, though I am not a native speaker or really any kind of speaker, so take what I say with a decent amount of scrutiny. I'm more than willing to be corrected on these conclusions!
One line that has stood out to me in kingdom hearts is the repetition of "no reckless stunts!" and similar phrases. If you examine the original text, three slightly different words have been used to mean "reckless", which I'll include below (pulled definitions from Jisho, mostly)
無謀 (mubou): reckless, foolhardy, rash, ill-advised, mad (scheme)
無茶 (mucha): reckless, absurd, unreasonable, ridiculous
無理 (muri): impossible, unreasonable, unjustifiable
Importantly for what i want to talk about is how "muri" is used in situations where a character wants to express that something is impossible (think of a character giving up all hope due to an insermountable obstacle in front of them, they may mutter something like "muri da...") keep a pin in this, it will matter toward the end.
Also note that each of these words starts with "無" (mu), which usually means nothingness or absence of something. The definition of this kanji isnt super important, it's more important that its presence ties these three phrases together in a really unique way as i hope to demonstrate.
what i propose is that both Sora and Riku are depicted as reckless characters, albeit in different ways. The established pattern I've noticed is that Sora: "mucha" & Riku: "muri". I will tentatively refer to "mucha" as "rash" and "muri" as "impossible" (despite that it does also mean other things in some cases! bare with me it'll make sense)
Dialing back a bit, we have seen countless moments of Sora acting rashly. It is one of his key character traits and it tends to get him in trouble. He has a big heart, and is quick to anger.
Sora's response to loved ones and helpless innocents that have been put in harm's way is to repetitively bash things with his keyblade (and ask questions later).
It's Sora's rashness that allows Org 13 to use him to complete kingdom hearts. The extreme end of his rashness is showcased when he stabs himself to release Kairi from his heart.
Tldr. I think it's pretty well established and easy to argue that Sora is one to leap before he looks.
Now, Riku might be a little harder to sell as reckless, because of how well he tends to hide it. He carries himself as a role model for Sora, and tries to be the responsible friend. But if we look at his patterns of behavior, despite how he carries himself, he is quite reckless!
Without thinking of the consequences, he rushes the open door when destiny islands falls to darkness, eventually succumbing to it himself. He lashes out several times at Sora, particularly dangerously when he fires off a dark firaga in Hollow Bastion. He closes the door to darkness with Sora without knowing what would happen to him if he was trapped in the realm of darkness. When Sora is asleep, he sacrifices his form to defeat Roxas, without any assurance that he would ever be able to get his old form back.
We see Riku's recklessness too in the fight against Xemnas. He recklessly throws himself in front of Xemnas twice, hurling Sora away from danger and taking a very nasty blow to the hip. I'd count his dive to save Sora in DDD among these, mostly due to his risk taking behavior when it comes to saving Sora. Finally of course we see it in KH3, with his ultimate sacrifice. (but i think importantly, this scene isn't just recklessness, but I'll explain in a bit)
So tldr. Despite Riku's mask of level headedness and resolve, he has been shown over and over to take massive risks without caring for the consequences. Which is pretty reckless, in my opinion!
Sora and Riku's recklessness, mind you, is also called into question by Yen Sid, who tells Riku the reason he kept Aqua's fate a secret was to keep Riku and Sora from staging a "half-baked attempt at rescue"
He says similar in Japanese, but i want to just note the word he uses when he describes the rescue attempt as reckless (highlighted for ur convenience):

(the highlighted word here is "mubou", it will come back later in an Important way, so keep it in mind)
he's *basically* saying that if Riku, or worse, Sora, knew about Aqua, they would have recklessly marched into the realm of darkness to rescue her. Because he knows they are both ... Like that.
I would be remiss to not mention that Sora's impulsivity and recklessness is something Riku admires! After Yen Sid tells riku not to be rash, and Riku excitedly tells Mickey he's ready to help save Aqua, Kairi observes that Riku has changed, and he's more like Sora. Riku asks if that's a compliment, but I think it's clear that he feels it is. He says it's more Fun to just follow his heart, which is sora-esque. (;_;) This is also something he brings up to Sora when they're on the dark margin together, that he's jealous of how Sora can just follow his heart. It's clear Riku has started to embrace his more impulsive side, to follow his heart like sora does. This is important later!
So now that I have my premise Mostly set up, I'd like to highlight a handful of scenes that I thought were really telling about how Sora and Riku relate to the terms "mucha" and "muri", respectively.
Let's start with Sora and "mucha".
The first instance i have found "mucha" used is in Olympus Colliseum.
lets recall How Herc initially loses his power in KH2, and compare it to the movie.
In KH2, Herc is tricked into leaving the colliseum unguarded by capturing Meg and hiding her in the underworld so that Herc and Sora must go to her rescue. Hades sends a hydra in to destroy the colliseum while Sora and Herc are busy fighting heartless and Pete and rescuing Meg.
Upon seeing the destruction in the colliseum, Herc falls to his knees, and you can visibly see his colors fade to a more ashen complexion, similar to his appearance without his powers in the movie. He calls himself a piece of shit basically and Meg helps him up to limp to safety, leaving Sora to defeat the Hydra (ahem sora helping riku walk in twtnw after xemnas fight anyone)

(Herc even has a second journal entry for his Desaturared form.)
You leave the world after defeating the hydra and jumping up on its back a few times, and after sora d & g are named true heros. Yay. But Herc doesn't have his power back yet, which will later be addressed in the second episode.
Herc's loss of power is much different from the movie. In the movie, he agrees to let Hades take his strength for a day in order to keep Meg from harm, and release her from the contract she had entered with Hades (iirc). This was all so Herc wouldn't get the chance to save Olympus from the titans that Hades revives in order to take Zeus' throne for himself.
Herc still tries to wonderboy his way into rescuing the town, and fights a giant cyclops. While he lacks physical strength and gets pretty much Pummeled, he ends up beating the cyclops with his wit - but in doing so, a pillar is knocked over. It is about to crush Herc, but Meg pushes him out of the way, and is crushed to death.
She gives her life to save him, which in turn returns strength to Herc, because the contract was only good if Meg remained unharmed.
What I'm mostly trying to say here on this tangent is Herc's loss of power in KH2 specifically is very reminiscent of Sora losing his keyblade in Hollow Bastion, which is later echoed in the keyblade graveyard when he feels he loses his strength to fight after losing his friends. I bring up the movie to show how bizarrely different it is from the Kh2 plot, perhaps precisely to make the parallel between Sora and Herc stronger (and the parallel between Herc and Riku, by the way - Herc falling to his knees, losing his power, and giving up, only for Meg to walk him to safety, is a parallel to Riku losing his will to fight and press on after the battle with Xemnas - Sora refuses to let him and in the same Exact way he helps Riku walk on)
So Hercules, when faced with the impossible wavers, and loses his strength and will to fight. This is important so keep it in mind. Impossible/Muri isn't stated here as far as i know, but it's important that he is feeling utterly defeated and unable to win.
The second visit to the world is when we first see the term "mucha"/reckless used as far as I was able to find. Hades casts Meg into the Soul Hole and Herc dives in to save her without hesitating (mechanically to write Herc out of the boss fight, but)
We later see Herc emerge with Meg, his godly aura restored (he is Radiant!) something that *should* have killed him. and should have been impossible. But his desire to save her was so great, he recklessly dives in, without knowing that he will succeed. Luckily, all he had to do to prove he was worthy of godhood and power in both the game and the movie was to use the strength of his Heart rather than his fists, as a true hero does:

Sora scolds him and tells him not to do anymore crazy stunts after this reckless dive to save Meg (screenshot makes it look like herc is saying it sorry lol) and that is where we can see the term "mucha" being used in Japanese:
instead of crazy stunts, Sora moreso says "but don't be reckless (mucha)":

to which herc responds:

"people always do stupid things when they're in love" (note he doesn't repeat reckless, he says "baka" lol)
so here we have a direct link between herc's sacrifice when he dove in to save Meg, the restoration of his power/Godhood, and acting recklessly (mucha), without Fear or Doubt, to save someone he is In Love With. put a pin in this because it's all connected.
Now moving onto KH2.9 and KH3. From the start of the game we are told Sora has lost the Power of Waking, and his Entire goal in the game is to regain it, wake Ventus, and prepare for the battle in the KBG with Xehanort.
The Power of Waking is already a very vague, disney-esque power, essentially the power to free sleeping hearts from slumber (and first introduced to us in DDD, particularly in terms of Riku waking Sora up in a sleeping beauty retelling but I'm getting ahead of myself)
Yen Sid suggests that Sora go to Olympus for clues to regain his power, as Just Like Sora, Hercules also lost his power, but was able to regain it.
It's pretty straightforward, but in the interest of not making this post a fucking novel ill try to keep it short. Herc tells Sora he's not sure just *how* he got his powers back, just that he wanted to save Meg with all his heart when he (recklessly) dove in to save her. The game is trying to tell Sora that it's the Power of Love that brought back Herc's strength, and that Love will be key in bringing Sora's PoW back, too.
Specifically, I think that Herc's story and the other worlds Sora visits are saying that it's True Love that will bring Sora's powers back. Acts of true love in KH3 are framed as courageous, selfless, and performed unconditionally.
Despite the visit to see Hercules, Sora still doesn't gain the PoW. He has an idea of what he needs to regain it, but he has to visit multiple Disney worlds to learn more about the power of true love and sacrifice (well also separation but thats not as important to this post) before he's ready to test it out for himself.
After Arendelle (i think) we get to another important cutscene where Riku, Sora, donald, goofy, & mickey meet up with Yen Sid to discuss the progress they've made on their respective journeys. Sora wants to go to the Realm of Darkness with Riku & Mickey because he's worried, but they Won't let him because he doesn't have the PoW. Riku does the fondest laugh known to man, eliciting a bit of anger from Sora, but explains it's because of what Yen Sid had told him earlier - that had Sora or Riku known about Aqua being trapped in the RoD, they would have recklessly gone in to save her.

he's pretty much directly quoting yen sid here, just like he does in English (saying half-baked instead of reckless too). So basically saying here Sora would have marched into (the dark world) recklessly (had he known where Aqua was) - again using "mubou" like master yen sid.
Interestingly, when we get to Sora telling Riku to not be reckless in the dark world to Riku, he's not repeating the same word for Reckless that Riku is using (Now this might be just a flow of the conversation thing, which i certainly cant confirm as a non-native speaker but i think it's still notable)

Sora says something similar to what is said in English; with a few distinctions. A rough translation would be "but don't overdo it, call me if anything happens" (need I gripe one more time that english localization cuts out sora telling Riku to call him; which is why he spends the rest of the time apart from Riku wanting a call, and why its so unhinged that Riku triangles for sora and basically summons him. I DIGRESS)
This line is translated as "but be safe, no reckless stunts" in English, which serves as a callback to what Sora tells to Hercules in KH2, (further solidifying a herc/riku parallel) but IMPORTANTLY, Sora is NOT even saying the same thing he said to Hercules in the Japanese script. He's saying something else - 無理しないで (muri shinai de), which is usually translated as don't overdo it - but literally means "don't do the impossible". This will be important later when I talk more about Riku so keep this in mind.
We immediately get Donald saying "Sora's the reckless (muri) one" (abbreviating for simplicity) but Jiminy disagrees. In English he says "He's not reckless, he just doesn't think!" but in Japanese he says this:

Which i know im going to butcher any translation I do, but Jiminy is basically saying "[Sora's] not muri he's mucha". That distinction is important enough for Jiminy to make a joke about it. That Riku might actually be the one who is overdoing it/trying to do the impossible (muri), while Sora is the one who runs headfirst into danger recklessly (mucha). Which, i think, is quite fitting, given the actions theyve done through the series.
Importantly we get one more instance of "mucha" which I think really ties Sora's trait "recklessness" together nicely, and puts into perspective what the repetition of these phrases is doing from a story telling perspective.
After Sora finishes up the remaining Disney world visits, S, D, & G find out that Chip & Dale have lost contact with Riku & Mickey. Sora is very upset at this, and is Determined to save them (Riku) (with all his heart). Sora has NOT GAINED THE POW at this point, and they don't know how to even get into the RoD, so Sora opts to "let his heart be his guiding key" to find his way to Riku and the RoD. (Recklessly I might add, he hasn't called or talked to Yen Sid or consulted anyone about it lol)
He arrives at Destiny Islands and mysteriously finds Master's Defender which happens to be the key to getting him into the RoD. Right? Well. We know from the glossary that the established method of reaching the RoD is with a keyblade of darkness, through dark corridors, or with the Power of Waking.
Others have argued this (see SRT) but it's heavily implied that Sora regained the PoW on his way to rescue Riku. That he used it explicitly to get into the RoD is where people tend to be a little caught up in the details, because it *does* seem like Master's Defender plays a role, which begs the questions - is it a keyblade of darkness? What the fuck was it doing there? etc. (literally saw on a kh wiki that sora got into the RoD because Masters defender was a keyblade of darkness, which is unconfirmed currently lol) It's also not traditionally what the PoW looks like. There's a huge door that appears, Sora isn't using the kingdom key, he doesn't burst out of Riku's chest. Etc.
HOWEVER. I think with the context of the narrative arc Sora is going through, the foreshadowing present in the game, and The Reckless Rescue angle can at least prove that he DID regain his power here, regardless of whether or not he explicitly used it to get into the RoD. I'll try to briefly summarize the points I've seen made before I add my own.
After the visit to Olympus, Sora explains to Yen sid that he didn't regain his power but he still learned a lot. Yen sid stresses again that sora needs the PoW, Sora gets pouty, and Goofy cheers him up by saying "maybe something will trigger it real soon". Shortly after a bit of banter, there is a knock at the door, and Riku and Mickey walk in. The camera kmakes a point to show Mickey off to the side, then pan up to Riku as he walks in to close the door, who is centered in the view (almost as if we are watching from Sora's POV, who is anticipating Riku's appearance in the door).

Putting this side by side is a little unfair, since it's not an immediate jump from Goofy saying this to Riku's entrance, but it's pretty in your face about just what (or who) might be key to reawakening sora's PoW.
We also get some heavy handed foreshadowing in the next visit to Yen Sid's tower, right before Sora tells Riku to not overdo it:

Yeah. and he does, importantly, get the power of waking, not BEFORE he comes to the rescue, but BECAUSE he comes to the rescue.
Now for my contribution since I stole the last two/three points from other posts. Just before Sora enters the RoD, he tells D & G to stay behind and that he has to go alone. (Sigh, yes, this scene is a parallel to Riku using the PoW to save Sora in DDD - it *has* to be him, and him alone) D& G protest, but eventually relent. But Donald doesn't let Sora go without saying this:

(In English, Donald says "you promise to be good?" inexplicably) but in Japanese he tells sora (basically) "Don't be reckless" - aka. No Reckless Stunts, complete with the use of "mucha" (recall Donald in the previous scene was the one to call Sora "muri" before being corrected by Jiminy). This is similar to what Sora tells to herc, so we are pretty much full circle on this scene being a callback to Herc rescuing Meg in KH2.
Like Herc, Sora does the reckless thing. Like Herc, he heroically dives into the abyss to rescue his loved one with all his heart.
Like Herc, Sora regains his power the moment he resolves to rescue Riku, even if it is not made explicitly clear to Sora OR the audience (perhaps the fact that he regained the PoW is why he is able to save aqua, too)
I could probably go on about this and what it means for Sora for a long time, but I think it's high time I actually wrote about "muri" and Riku's recklessness, so let's rewind a little.
I've already brought up how Riku relates to Herc in terms of his recklessness and heroics, but theres a few more things to add. of course. I'll recap with pictures of one of the parallels i've already discussed:

So here i think at least metaphorically, we can argue that Riku has lost a bit of his "power"- or rather, his drive. After everything is over, he just collapses, ready to die or be left behind. Sora WONT let that happen. So Riku asks Sora to lead. He confesses to some of the jealousy and superiority he'd been feeling over Sora for the past few years, and seems to be trying to find a new direction in his life, having now repented Quite a bit for the sins he committed in KH1.
Riku's entire purpose for fighting after KH CoM and KH2 was to wake Sora up, keep him safe while he does his keyblade weilder duties, reunite him with Kairi, and send him on his merry way. Sora refuses to let him leave, and demands that he comes home with him. So he does. but without his jealousy over his feelings toward Sora, or without his feelings of guilt and feeling he needs to make it up to Sora, what is left to drive him to keep fighting?
DDD gives him a pretty strong answer - it's where he both rediscovers his sense of purpose and gains the Power of Waking in the process. And his dream eater powers too. btw
Riku's journey in DDD is, simply put, not really about passing the mark of mastery exam and becoming a keyblade master. it's about remembering What he lives for. remembering his promise to Terra, and how those feelings have evolved - from wanting strength to protect the Stuff that matters as a child, to, in DDD, discovering that the "stuff that matters, like his friends" was Sora the Whole time, and that Sora is actually a "precious best friend" that he wants to protect. It's About recovering his strength, like Herc needs to do in KH2.
So how does Riku regain his "strength"? By Sora-style taking a reckless dive into the deep abyss of Sora's heart to wake him using the PoW.
(Not once was I able to find any mention of "recklessness" here, or any particular language that ties this moment together cleanly with what happens in Olympus Colliseum in KH2, but the repetition of diving down into an abyss to rescue someone (with all your heart. etc) is Enough of a parallel to make the connection between this scene and Herc's dive to save Meg)
It is within the deepest depth of Sora's heart where Riku is interrogated by three pieces of Sora's heart about what he's afraid of, what he cares about more than anything else, and what he wishes - All canon answers involve the mention of "precious" - "taisetsu" (sorry im not explaining this one im going to just assume you know what im talking about if you are a soriku that reads meta you should know.) - to lose something precious, my precious best friend (fuck da english localization for this one), to recover something precious that I lost. It is here that we see Riku's simple "protecting important stuff" become "protecting something precious/my precious best friend" (note that this hasn't quite become "taisetsu na hito"/precious person but hes getting there)
Ansem the wise is there i guess and he tells Riku that his 3 answers are what were the key to waking sora up, and I think, importantly, are what give Riku his "strength" back. He has rediscovered his purpose, which is, to him, protecting Sora (with all his heart)
Continuing into KH2.9 we have another couple scenes that will both complete Riku's development from protecting stuff that matters to protecting a precious person and also continue to make a strong connection between him and Hercules.
It's been pretty well established that these two scenes are deceptively mistranslated, but i'll go over it again

Herc here is saying "taisetsu na hito" which is translated to "person I love most"
The EXACT phrase Mickey uses to tell Riku why he's feeling more powerful and fearless in the RoD, in the literal next scene in 2.9. They were supposed to be VERY CLEAR hit you over the head parallels but, well. SENA said fuck gay people i guess.

Riku repeats what Mickey says into his hand ("strength to protect my precious person") and recalls his promise to Terra, to protect the things that matter. (again it's implied it's always been about protecting sora, he just didn't have the language or understanding of himself yet to know how to say it)
There is absolutely no room for nuance here. This is explicitly framing Riku's feelings for Sora on par with Herc's feelings for Meg eg. explicitly romantic. And that it's his ROMANTIC LOVE for Sora that is what gives him his strength - not just to protect Sora, but also to do THE IMPOSSIBLE
phase ??? of my argument will now commence hang on to your butts. (i wrote this all in one night im tired)
Now that ive Exhaustively set that up. lets actually get back into discussing what I initially set up - riku doing the impossible "muri" thing.
As a reminder, Sora tells Riku to not "attempt the impossible/overdo it" in the RoD. And to call him if he needs him.
So Riku, instead of attempting the impossible in the RoD by facing the demon tide, does call Sora, which ends up being what saves the day! Yay!
I have bad news though! Riku is terrible at listening to advice when Sora is in trouble.
Now recall what I mentioned earlier about the fall of the guardians in the KBG and Sora's subsequent breakdown being a parallel to Herc losing his power in KH2. Sora *fails* everyone here, and he explicitly states he is worthless, without strength, when he loses them. It's very in line with Herc losing his powers in KH2.

(just putting these in here to hurt you and myself)
So, we get the Herc parallel, but it stops here for Sora. He doesn't do some grand self sacrifice for Riku to prove his heroism and regain his "power", but i think theres a reason for that beyond it just being Riku's time for the spotlight but I am getting there.
In the english localization, Sora says "we've lost, it's over". It's a subtle change from the Japanese, where instead of "it's over", Sora simply utters "muri da--" ("its impossible") (in the wettest saddest voice you can imagine)

It's at this moment where I do truly think we're meant to make the connection between Sora saying "its impossible" and Sora telling Riku to not attempt the impossible. It fits in nicely with Sora telling Herc to not do reckless stunts, with the slight change in language from "reckless" to "impossible", and with the impending self sacrifice. Riku knows that beating back the demon tide is impossible. But he does it anyway (compare to how, when faced with a much smaller demon tide, and he was losing, he listened to Sora's advice and called Sora for help instead of attempting the impossible)
So we have Riku's ultimate true love sacrifice for Sora, which both takes his life and grants him a spot upon an alter in Olympus, perhaps symbolically giving him some sort of ascension for his heroic deed. And again tying his sacrifice intimately to Herc's.
Because Sora and Riku are both "herc" and "meg" here I am going to make a little bit of a reach. Recall that I went through the effort of recapping the climax of the hercules movie. for no reason. There is a connection though even if it's loose, and i would kick myself for not including it.
In the movie, Meg, like Riku, protects a powerless Hercules from impending danger in her own act of true loves sacrifice. Her death gives Hercules his strength back (partly due to contract BS but it's still a romantic moment). And her death is what drives Hercules to dive into the Soul Hole to rescue her soul at a potentially great cost, which is what ultimately restores his godhood (showing his strength of heart). Riku sacrificing himself for Sora can be seen to be more like the events of the Hercules movie, Riku standing in for Meg - Sora does have to restore Riku's heart after it's been taken by the Lich, after all, much like Hercules brings Meg's soul out from the Hole. And Riku's sacrifice is what gives Sora the resolve to keep fighting. (not arguing with anyone who thinks it was only kairi because it wasnt lol)
So Riku attempts the impossible here, and ultimately he is rewarded. An interesting nuance is that the phrase "attempting the impossible" isn't meant to be taken as a challenge. From what ive read from native speakers, the phrase Sora uses really is better translated as "don't overdo it" as it is less about proving yourself to be able to overcome crazy obstacles and more about keeping your expectations in check. But Riku is reckless, and following his heart, which he learned from Sora.
I hope I've properly illustrated how Sora and Riku are both painted as reckless in different ways, and how the language used in KH3 is making direct references to Herc's reckless heroics in KH2 and in the actual Disney movie. And how these reckless acts are showcasing how much these two love each other, because I still have one more point to make. Namely, how this ties into Cinderella, and ultimately KH4.
In Terra's route of Birth By Sleep, he happens upon a distraught Cinderella, who has had her dress torn up by her step sisters. She was planning to go to the ball, but cannot, because it is "impossible" (muri)

Terra tries to console her. It's all very reminiscent of the scenes of Herc's, Sora's, and Riku's defeats.
After Terra fights off the unversed summoned by Cinderella's negativity (toxic much..), Out of the blue, the fairy godmother appears and makes everything better. She fixes up Cinderella with a dress and a ride to the ball, and sends her on her merry way.
She explains to Terra that she appeared to Cinderella to show her that her dreams *can* come true and that she typically appears only to people that have a strong belief in their dreams. Terra says he believes in dreams but you have to work for them, to which FGM responds that simply believing in dreams is already a difficult thing on its own. (Ventus also compares Terra to Cinderella. btw. because of his strong dreams)
Now. Sigh. Im not the only person that has pointed this out. The FGM quite literally appears to Riku, but only after a year has passed and they have no leads on Sora, and after it's implied that Riku is starting to lose hope.
In the limit cut, you can see Riku's sad wet puppy dog face as he talks about how hard everyone is working, and how they haven't found anything at all. He says "if Sora is really out there, don't you think we would have found something by now?" - Again, he's losing faith in his dreams of Sora's return. This is important.
I do not have the strength to go through and find all the times Riku told everyone to believe in Sora in KH3. It's a lot. And the last thing we hear him say Near Sora, is to let him go on his suicide mission to save Kairi - to BELIEVE in Sora (#wish).
So one, we know the dream Riku believes in is Sora, and two, we know he is starting to lose his belief in his dreams, like Cinderella before the ball, when he dress is destroyed.
Right after it's clear their is no lead through the data from Org 13, FGM appears, just like she did for Cinderella. And she tells Riku that His Dreams Are Literally A Key To Find Sora (that hes quite literally been #dream drop distancing into sora's dreams while hes in unreality is already so much without the FGM being there to explain this to him but KH is crazy!)
One last thing to really drive this home. The FGM brings Riku and Kairi to the nameless star to bring the three keys together.
And what does she tell Riku, before he leaves?

"Be careful. Do not attempt to do the impossible."

if you read this whole thing... well... im proud of you. hi !! can you do a gideon graves x male!reader who owns a flowershop? (if you dont do male readers thats ok lol, gn!reader is good too)
Better than Any Boquet
(a Gideon Graves x male flowershop owner! reader)
EEE MY FIRST REQUEST !! (TYSM ANON IM LITERALLY SO HAPPY ABOUT THIS) ALSO I DO ALL GENDER READERS !! SO MALE READER ISNT A PROBLEM AT ALL !!! ^_^ (ALSO I WILL SAY THAT THIS SUUUUUPER LONG. I DIDNT KNOW HOW TO MAKE IT ANY SHORTER BUT PLS DONT BLAME ME IM BARELY STARTING 🙁 ) BUT I RLLY DO HOPE U ENJOY BC THIS HONESTLY TOOK ME SO LONG TO PUT TOTHER. BUT THANK U AGAIN !!! <3333 (also this isnt proofread so)
Gideon had been acting..strange lately. The league noticed, his employees noticed, even he noticed ! But, nobody could seem to pinpoint what exactly it was.
He had been going out more, being a little bit less harsh on certain people, and the biggest thing people noticed was the amount of flowers around now. Of course nobody dared to ask, heavens no ! But still, it was strange. It’s not like he was a big fan of the flowers himself, but for some reason he had so many around.
Eventually, it had started as a routine. Day after day he would do the exact same thing ! Saying he needs to go do something ‘important’ out, taking his leave, and ending up in the local flowershop. But why ? Its not like he was there for the flowers, no. He had a better reasons.
He walks in, his mind somewhere else before hearing something that completely snapped him out of it. A simple, “Good morning, Mr, Graves!”
< Thats > what he was here for.
The nice owner, thats what he was here for! How could we forget? How could he forget such a nice boy, the same boy who helps him every day no matter how many questions he asks or how many times he ends up repeating them. He even remembered his name! Not by the fact that he’s THE Gideon Graves, but by the fact that he comes in every day to his shop !
Will he ever admit its for him? Maybe later. But right now? Certainly not ! He can’t lose such a ‘friendship’ with this lovely boy he’s met ! For now, he simply comes in, looking for him at the desk in the front. Asking things such as “How do I take care of these?” or “What type of flowers would go best with this event ?” . Simple things to hide the fact that he’s only there to see him and to hear him talk.
After about an hour of mindless questions and small talk, he comes home, once again with a boquet of flowers in hand. He couldn’t help it ! He HAD to buy flowers every time he’d go in there, or he’d leave feeling a bit bad. So, there he goes, grabbing another empty vase and putting some water in it, then placing the flowers inside.
He sighed, looking around at all the flowers he now had. How long could he keep this up ? How long could he push his feelings for this boy away and just keep going and buying flowers, never making a move?
It honestly didn’t take long, he was running out of room for flowers and was so head over heels he couldn’t help himself anymore.
Though, for the first time he couldn’t help but feel a bit afraid. Would you like him? I mean yeah, he does have quite the name and ego, not to mention the billions he has in cash, but would you really find him attractive? He guessed he’d just have to find out.”
He spent about a week thinking about this.
Infact, he spent the whole time trying to distract himself, he had forgotten to go to the flowershop. After the week, he had finally decided to go say something. Thats when he remembered. He spent the whole week away from YOUR presence after being there non-stop for a few months!
Now he was really worried. He probably made you sick thinking something must have happened since he stopped coming for a whole week!
So, off he went! Sprinting down the street to the flowershop, holding on to his glasses for life. His plan? Say everything through a letter. He couldnt get himself to say it to your face, no matter how big of an ego he had.
He comes in, pushing the door open, almost falling over as he catches his breath before looking up. And there you were, making direct eye contact with him as you out new fresh flowers in a certain section.
“Mr. Graves! There you are! I was wondering where you’d been.” You say, giving him that same, sweet smile.
“Please..call me Gideon.” He says, closing the door behind him as he comes in entirely. “I have something..a bit more important for you this time.” “Anything! What do you need, Gideon?” He liked how you had listened without a question.
“I need a boquet of roses, the best ones you’ve got, and I need you to put this letter in there. But, I’d like you to read it first.” He says, handing the note to him. “I need these by 5 p.m today, and I’d like for you to write me a reply on the letter of what you think.”
With that he mutters a “Thank you” and runs out quickly, not even giving you a chance to respond.
You stand there, a bit dumbfounded. But, there was no need to go chase him down and question him. It seemed simple enough. So, you grab the roses, picking the best ones as he’d asked. Then, the letter.
You grab the letter, opening it slowly, then is when you get met with something..suprising.
“Sorry about the leave, I couldn’t be here for this. All these visits were never about the flowers, it was about you. I wanted to get closer, but never knew how. I’ve liked you for all these months, and never knew how to truely say it. You were always too kind, and quite the handsome man too, giving me that smile every day I walked in, no matter how clueless I was about anything. Especially the flowers. But you always listened to me. But, I do love you and everything you do a lot. And I would love to have you by my side. Because to me, you’re better than any boquet.”

I was thinking about killer and his emotionlessness in st2. And people struggling to portray that in writing (for those who wanna portray it), but based off some personal experiences I won’t go into specifically, maybe here’s some ideas for anyone who needs them.
Maybe write his emotionlessness aspects as a firm belief, integral to his sense of self. Write it as a deeply ingrained coping mechanism that was only encouraged and reinforced by the people around him, who wanted him to be and behave that way because it meant they got what they wanted from him—consistently shamed or invalidated or worse if he showed an emotion that wasn’t wanted.
He has detached from himself, the body, his surroundings; most things don’t feel or seem real, including himself.
because killer thinks of himself as emotionless, and he very likely doesn’t feel some emotions such as guilt or remorse or even love in an emotional way and struggles with empathy which are things trauma can absolutely cause, its also important to keep in mind that it is abuse and trauma that has caused this.
Trauma and abuse has led him to dissociating and numbness, repeated everyday violence and murder and abuse has been completely normalized and accepted as a part of his existence.
His apathy is a result of all of this, constantly being pushed to his limits emotionally, physically, and mentally over and over.
Due to the circumstances of his world, the abilities of Resetting and the like, even death has become the norm. Both of himself and others. He is surrounded by so much of it that it no longer means anything to him.
His thoughts of things being ultimately meaningless, his knowledge of the Players making him believe that no one really has free will in the end. It all only makes him disconnect from himself and his body.
However. Just because killer does not believe himself capable of emotion, does not mean he isnt expressing any. His body can still react to things—crying when stressed, flinching and wincing in pain—even if Killer himself just doesn’t understand stress or enjoys his own pain. Especially if the pain wasn’t “that bad” in his eyes.
You can write it as if Killer believes his body sometimes does things on its own without his say so. Grabbing things without his awareness to fidget with because he needs stimulation, attempting to stab someone if even being touched causes his body to react negatively, as if the touch was painful or frightening. Constant fidgeting and shifting, and getting frustrated about why it can’t just stay still.
(He might eventually face a bit of resigned acceptance to this, eventually just having to accept that the body apparently needs to do these things. And no matter how hard he or anyone else tries to get it to stop, it’s impossible, and likely to just make the fidgeting ‘worse’.)
If his body cries from stress, he’d probably be extremely confused; steadfast believing he doesn’t feel anything, and just wipes it away—perhaps dissociating even further or getting frustrated, because he doesn’t believe thats something he’d do.
Experiencing cognitive dissonance, because the action of crying suggests something’s wrong but he feels..nothing. Neutral, as he always does. Or if hes physically hurt during a mission, his body could be crying from the physical sensations and yet killer is mentally riding the high of “finally” experiencing emotion.
If someone is berating him or verbally abusing him, he might be confused by the body’s tears because there is no physical harm. He doesn’t feel offended or hurt by what this person is saying to him, so why would he cry. He doesn’t think it’s logical, and thus will rationalize it away as just something up with the body.
He might look back during his moments in Stage 1–happiness, fear, guilt—with either a sense of detached confusion or maybe amusement, believing that other side of him to have been rather dramatic. Maybe he’s even curious about why the world seems so much brighter when someone like Color is around.
Because killer doesn’t connect the body to himself in his mind, he probably has a hard time visualizing it or showing any care for it beyond making sure it’s functioning and still useful. And he doesn’t really feel any empathy for it either.
It is also very possible to have people react to the way he doesn’t react—such as simply standing and quietly watching whenever nightmare punishes someone in the gang, not seeming bothered by it at all, as opposed to anyone else who is witnessing. This can be compounded by any signs of dismissiveness and downplaying what happened.
You can have people treat him differently, react to him differently, either being disturbed/uneasy by his appearing to not have any emotions—no anger, fear, hatred, disgust—in situations they feel he should.
Appearing unbothered or unphased by things said or done to himself or others as if they don’t matter—either because it is normal for him, or because he is so commonly dissociated that no one notices that he dissociated in these moments.
Others may even be outraged and offended by his apparent lack of concern or compassion, and even more may interpret him as being arrogant. Others may make it a personal thing to try and provoke from what they believe an appropriate response to be from him. (They’ll probably end up being killed or mortally wounded in this case.)
Writing people’s reactions to him and his lack of reactions, besides those big dead black eyes and empty grin, will definitely help set him apart from others around him.
He will likely struggle to accept the idea that he can feel genuine emotions; and may outright reject or rationalize/intellectualize away anything that contradicts this belief of his. He may avoid anything or anyone that provokes reactions he doesn’t understand—as a form of self protection. Especially if someone or something has convinced him that his emotions are inconvenient, useless, weak, or dangerous.
It’s also quite possible that hed be reluctant to acknowledge his body’s needs or emotions, to let it “speak” in a way, uncertain of how it will react or what it will make him do. Especially if his body has destructive breakdowns when repressed stress and pain catch up to him, and it makes him feel out of control.
Automatic responses like sweating, shaking, changes in breathing, temperature fluctuations; all are likely to be observed in a detached way and not really linked to any specific emotional state. Insomia, changes in eating habits, and chronic pain are likely to be some biggies for him.
He probably doesn’t actually know why his body appears to be in so much pain—besides the amount of DT accumulation and the history of physical trauma—but he’s more likely to take some twisted glee in being able to feel it than care about where its coming from or why.
He’s probably also likely to have a decreased immune system and might be prone to sickness, due to the results of chronic stress and the results of repressing it all; but he’ll probably over intellectualize it away.
Another form of self protection for him could be his typical silly, dumb, hyperactive facade being a deliberate choice on his end. Because it not only leads to people overlooking or underestimating him, it protects him by keeping people away.
If he pretends to feel what others seem to want him to feel in certain situations, they’re less likely to start pestering him and trying to provoke reactions from him. It also helps keeping people entertained, makes him seem unpredictable, and most of all, doesn’t allow anyone to look at him and find him lacking. Find him boring. Enough to potentially get rid of him, or replace him.
He may not may not actually care about others’ opinions of him—praise or criticism—but people sure seem to want him to, so he’ll pretend to if it’s beneficial.

@iamthedamndonutdrawcat @trstalks @queermoons tagging u my dears cuz ik how important this is to u. happy sunday + i hope this is what u guys imagine this post would be!
This is an invitation for ppl to either add more ideas to this or to send asks with pairings and however many points from here and ill write u a little smutty story <3
-
A (noncomprehensive) list of the fucked up shit remus would get insanely horny over:
Remus loves to get dirty. Its one of his more disgusting fantasies, to go into the woods with someone and fuck nasty. He wants to get onto the ground and the mud, he wants to be forced into it or force someone down, to get dirtied hands on each other, inside each others pants. (And i could go on and on but i will save that for writing an actual thing)
Losing consciousness is a huge turn on for him. He loves how he loses control, how he gets so pliant and agreeable, how his partner could do absolutely anything to him when he's passed out. He fantasises about hands on his neck pressing him down into the bed, a hand pressed over his mouth and nose stopping any oxygen. He's even done research on chloroform after he cant stop thinking about yet another scene in some movie where a character gets knocked out with a rag pressed to their mouth.
This ones huge in my mind because of whoa omo's beautiful beautiful fic about Remus' love of piss. Please if ure open to it read it it's incredible. He loves the desperation of it yeah but actually getting dirty with it is what he loves the most.
Rope bunny Remus Lupin!!! This is tame considering but just please i cant not imagine him in any kind of binds. He loves being upside down he loves being uncomfortable, he loves how he aches after in the best way. This and this lives in my mind i swear i think of him like at least once a day. I also think no matter if he's being more submissive or dominant he always prefers to be tied up while he isnt too big on tying his partner up.
He likes dressing up, likes to be called a good girl but it ends up being less of a sex thing and more of a Remus Lupin is a genderfuck thing. So anyways he likes having his cock locked in a cage and his cunt fucked until it's loose and sore and filled with his lovers cum. He likes having the cute panties he wears pushed roughly to the side, likes to complain that they're going to get dirty or torn up and if he's lucky they get stuffed into his mouth to shut him up. The mascara he wore running down his face with the tears as he wails and moans like a whore.
He is huge on worship, whether hes being dominant or submissive, he's all over his partner, kissing and praising and rubbing his face up into their skin. Which leads me to conclude that Remus lupin is a feet man. Cant tell me he wouldnt whine and beg to have his loves foot pressing up against his leaking cunt, or his hard cock. He'd go fucking feral for it.
He usually loves prioritising his lovers pleasure, often to the point of overstimulating them. He loves how they start to push at his face or at this chest yet cant help but move their hips into his touch. (imagining this with reg, where Remus fucks him and eats him out and makes him squirt so many times that neither are sure if its squirt or piss anymore teeheehee)
He loves spanking and he loves getting spanked. He loves how it feels when his dick aches, when it leaks precum, when it's all red and sensitive and he swears he could cum just from being spanked. Now if we imagine trans Remus for a moment: he gets so wet after a few spanks on his ass that he just cant keep still anymore, not because it hurts too much but because he needs to rub his cunt up against something, he's leaking everywhere, whiney and racking up more spanks for how he's behaving and he's happy about it. He loves how sore and red his ass and thighs get, how his legs are forced apart and how it hurts in such a different way when its his cunt getting the hits. Once again he swears he could cum just from this.
Very specific now but i think he'd be into suits and like proper clothes and them getting ruined. He'd be all dressed up whether thats in a well tailored suit or a pretty dress saved for special occasions and he'd be complaining the loudest about how its getting ruined even though he loves it
He's a huge pain slut, aside from ur typical spanking and other pain play ure thinking of, he almost likes a fight. Maybe when he gets into a mood, closer to a full moon perhaps when he gets more irritated and pent up and cant help but talk back and be a bitch to his partner during sex, goading them into physically putting him into place. Hmmmm imagine the shock and silence when he gets smacked across the face as if he wasnt hoping for exactly that to happen.
He's really into just bodily fluids. Spit tears cum all of it he needs it. He loves being gagged and having spit pool in his mouth that spills down his chin and dries on his skin, he loves having his lover in his mouth, loves when they spit in his mouth or on him, loves how dirty it makes him feel!
He loves being forced to do things. Loves being convinced that he can take more, loves saying no and being ignored, loves being pushed past his limits (because he does it often in his everyday life with his disability but this is not what this is about). He finds peace and relief in the pain, the overstimulation, the feeling when too much becomes just enough. The satisfaction of taking another blow, another orgasm, of choking on a cock for the fourth 'last time'. There's a moment when the fight in him turns to peace and acceptance because he is such a good pup taking it so well. He genuinely loses his mind.
In the same vein as above, he loves the whole "dumb pup" thing. He loves scenes where he purposefully gets tripped up by his dom, and he cant do anything about it. He cant get upset that he was technically forced to drop the stick from his mouth that he was meant to hold like a good mutt. He fucked up the one thing he was meant to do well, it's not his doms fault that he's so dumb and can't even do the one thing. The aftercare goes so hard after scenes like this cuz remus gets soooo worked up and cries so hard with frustration, how its unfair that he's getting punished for something he didn't do on purpose. But its ok he really does love being shown his place this way.
This one is for the big dick remus lupin truthers: he would try to do the incredibly flexible feat of sucking his own dick at least once. And he would probably consider fucking himself (and it kind of worked.)
#this ended up rapidly oscillating between me actually considering his characterisation and me just wanting to put him in situations#when does this become more projection and horniness and less charavter headcanons#this may or may not have stuff added to it. but i believe this is all my brain can squeeze out for now#idk if u can tell but i am holding back because there are some things that just need to be written about in an actual fic#so please i beg send me those asks i will write all of it if anyone wants it#vee barks#remus lupin#rjl#i will post this now lest i add more and expose myself too much teehee#closing my eyes and clikcimg post now AHH#freak rjl

Hey I was just wanting to ask if you some tips on drawing Slugcat legs. I really want to be able to draw these little cuties and I have everything else done but the legs (specifically poses and action) is really tough for me
It'll depend heavily on how you actually wanna do their legs, but since your asking me I'll assume you like how i do them- I draw them digitigrade when in motion, which basically means that the weight of the animal is carried on the on the toes (the other is plantigrade, which means the back of the foot makes contact with the ground when moving.) This is important since it changes how the leg tends to be formed and rest, but slugcats have a lot of flexibility here.
The other thing to keep in mind is that slugcats are *sleek* and tend to be smooth no matter what pose they're in, so you can hide the specifics of the legs under this and squash and stretch them as you see fit. Think about how fur or feathers tend to hide exactly how the body looks (and thats why so many animals look weird when wet and all that stuff lays flat) As for how I do it, I try to keep slugcats to a tube or triangle shape with most of the weight/fat being in the hips and tail. In most cases, you can get away with just imaging the leg as a flexible ball, and treat the foot as a point (like your pulling on a water balloon). The further the foot from the body, the more that ball stretches. The specifics of whats going *on* in the ball can be hidden unless its its really stretched out
Mentally I don't put much thought into it, but if you need more structure think of the bones of the leg as three sections- the foot, fibula/tibia (Lower leg bones) and femur (Upper leg bone/thigh). Digitigrade and plantigrade tend to favor certain positioning, but ultimately the only major focus is on how the foot functions. Digitigrade in particular tends to favor this sort of 'z' formation even when fully stretched (Humans, in contrast, are plantigrade, and our legs can be fully straighten out even if they still fold the same way). So if your going for that you'll always want to keep a bit of a 'z' shape even if your stretching it waaay out. When at rest, I keep the foot of the slugcat flat. But anytime it's in motion or would be active they shift weight to their toes. You could keep them fully plantigrade, but personally I think digitigrade allows for easier shows of motion and more natural looking action shots with the upright posture if you dont want to stretch the leg out fully. Also i just like the look of it more. (If you want to get into biology more, this would normally be hard on the legs weight-wise, but I like to imagine slugcats are mixed tripedal rather than strict bipeds, and make use of their tails as a third grounding point.)
And heres a very quick run over some of the official cutscenes to show similar:
I personally just wing it when it comes to the sizes of those sections, but a general rule of thumb is that everything gets shorter as you go down- the upper leg has the longest bones, then the middle leg, then the foot. A lot of that is hidden in the body of the slugcat, but keeping that in mind might help keep the leg length feeling natural. (But the biggest secret is that your drawing a fake, stretchy blobby animal so you can bs a lot and be imperfect and honestly just do whatever in a lot of cases and not end up with something that noticeably wrong. This DOES get a little harder if you draw them more lithe or cat like, just because that exposes the leg more) And lastly, if cutscene art isnt helping and you might benefit from a real life reference- rather than using an actual cat I would actually recommend mustelid like a ferret, otter or stoat. They're plantigrade rather than digitigrade, but their form and posturing is a little bit closer to the slugcat and it might help with visualizing the way the legs can sink into the body. I will give a heads up that these are little predators so general search results do tend to show them hunting small animals like mice, if your sensitive to that stick to domestic ferrets for safer results.

Just remember to fatten them up- they're way longer and thinner than slugcats are
#rain world#ask#long post#sorry i edited a typo and it moved the read more irknfmldc#edit two: added some more regarding leg styles

A perspective for 431 and the confession scene, for those who cant even enjoy fanon anymore
Its not a surprise to see many ppl feel hopeless over BNHA after the release of volume 42 in Japan with the confirmation of 431: More, and while a part of the fandom is focusing on the fanon content -enjoying the art, the fics, the head canons, the jokes-, others seems to also be unable to find happiness with these characters, feeling betrayed and lied to their faces. I understand, I was also angry about a dudebro fantasy even if I was able to enjoy fanon content still, and I want to give some thoughts about 431 after rethinking it a little bit, and pointing out the things that made me hate 431's Midoriya Izuku (and how now I can see something interesting in him).
Considering deku is a total oblivious nerd who pictures stereotypical romantic gestures as the way to be romantic... I want to believe izuku thinks it was as simple as him loving everyone and finding them all as special, bc everyone is, but realized thats not the case, things arent that simple, and he needs to actually DO show this instead of just feeling things on his own.
Like he doesnt show others how important they are in his life accidentally, bc he thought it was as simple as him finding everyone as special -like everyone would already understand it as a given-, and in the end, thats not true, ppl cant read his mind... he basically lost his high school best friend BC he thought that was "enough", and from now on he wants to keep talking to her.
"If everyone is special it means nobody is special", this phrase confused him at first, but now... he understands a part of it. Bc he treats everyone as special nobody actually knows nor feels special with him -if everyone is special = he treats everyone the same = everyone thinks they dont matter to him-, and I think this works well with his expression after realizing something while looking at her. It wasn't a loving look but a concerned one, I labelled before as an "oh shit-!" moment instead; him realizing how he actually didnt make the effort to show how he cares about her in these years, how "nobody is special bc everyone is special" means he has to DO show the ppl in his life a particular care too, instead of just assume they know. Bc he doesnt think highly of himself, he didnt even think about ppl feeling like he doesnt care much about them, to the point that Ochako doesnt even feel like she can talk to him even tho they were close in high school. She had to do that work, and once she is too busy he doesnt even think about contacting her first -and thats not fair, bc she is special to him too! She's his friend, not a random person, and these class reunions arent enough to convey that message.
I believe he feels included and cared for in these reunions, and assumes everyone also is able to feel his love for everyone even if he doesnt talk to them -and thats just not the case, he has to do more for his friendships and not just save them when they need it.
It felt weird to me how the phrase in the "confession" went, "I love everyone, and everyone is special, and I thought it was as simple as that, but from now on too I want to talk to you more", bc he doesnt say shes special explicitly and he seems to go into a "different route" -its an interpretation, and you can see it that way ofc-, but Deku isnt the type of person to be vague when actively confessing something. Its not him being embarrassed and afraid to say those words, he is confident in that and doesnt feel shy about it, and only blushes when shes on him all of the sudden, and I just cant see him as a "confident dude about romance who confesses like its nothing without saying the words", nor "had a sudden burst of confidence to confess romantic feelings", bc he didnt. He didnt confess romantic feelings, nor felt shy about what he said.
This is one of the main reasons why I saw him as "Midoriya, the bro version", bc Izuku would never treat romantic feelings like that! If he was actually confessing a romantic love, I think it would make more sense to be shy about it (maybe struggle to look at her at first, and then confess while looking at her in the eye, or saying it loudly with his eyes closed, yk?), especially bc 431 goes out of its way to tell us how Izuku as an adult is STILL oblivious to what other ppl feel about him or wanting to be close to him. He wouldnt be confident about it, bc he would assume Ochako does not like him -and you know what? You can work with that to make a cute romantic and fun scene! It doesnt take away from the romance at all and would explain why he would not think about her in that way previously ("he didnt even think he had a chance in the first place, nor that ochako would be into a guy like him"), but that didnt happen.
Considering he heard Jirou and Kaminari rejecting the idea of them dating, while expressing how it feels comforting to be close, like in high school, and this works as the framework for the last scene... It doesnt feel like Deku thought about forming a romantic connection with Ochako, but instead wanted to express how he does want her in his life instead of fading in the background, bc he cares even if others dont feel cared for. He is trying to change things for the better in his relationships.
This also can work with what he told Katsuki before saying goodbye, inviting him into a special quest lecture about communication -he doesnt need to reconnect with him bc they never accidentally lost it, but still he wants to develop their relationship more by offering that lecture about communication, the thing they struggle with the most (specially Katsuki from his perspective who, for all his triumphs, uses a too cryptic language for Izuku, making him confused when he wants to understand him)-. I think he thinks Katsuki of all ppl knows exactly how Izuku feels about him, as his closest one, but still he wants to understand him more without pressuring him, and expresses this by involving him into his new work/passion (?), without any doubts about it.
In 431 I think we see how they tried to make it look romantic but the actual contents are... pretty platonic. Its a strange mix, and makes me wonder if this was truly something asked by an editor or something, "an izuku and ochako focused chapter as the extra", bc it never actually commits to it. Its hard to tell, specially considering the leakers made us believe they were confessing true love -and even that Katsuki and Tsuyu were being a wingmen!-, that they held hands while shoujo bubbles appeared, that Izuku confessed his love for her... And that wasn't the actual content. Instead, the confession can be understood as completely platonic thanks to the narrative contexts (deku is clueless, jirou and kaminari are not dating and feel comfort with each other, memories of high school, them being made to not talk to each other that much/at all after high school, himiko's love not being exclusively romantic [as in she understands different kinds of love even if she calls them the same; she loved ochako and deku, she loved the league of villains, she loved tsuyu, etc, but they weren't the same types of love]), and the handhold looks more like a promise than a romantic one.
If someone wants to see it as a romantic promise, sure, im nobody to tell them they cant, however I prefer to see it as 3 promises, actually: one to both of them, to keep talking from now on and not lose contact; two izuku to himself, a promise to start showing everyone how special they are to him with his actions; three ochako to himiko, a promise to start living her life and showing her love like she did with the ppl around her (Twice, Dabi, Shigaraki, Spinner, Magne, Tsuyu...). To start having agency and keep the ppl in her life with her, instead of overworking herself and letting others get away from her (she made sure to also express that love and care, being really friendly genuinely and acting to be friends, while Ochako doesnt show that commitment to her friendships like that, as we only see her talking with Tsuyu, who does show up for her always). Promises to make sure they can express the love they feel for others, without being limited by a particular type of love.
I argued previously that both Himiko and Ochako have a theme about pure love, in the way they just love different ppl no matter how weird that is. I think this can work fine, while also making her character conclusion feel less... insulting, tbh, as in Himiko was the one helping her to choose a life with conform and letting herself be close to others, and the first action she does for this is agreeing with deku into talking to each other more from now on -just like kaminari and jirou felt when they saw their agencies would be close to each other. They arent lovers, and at the same time is nostalgic and warm to have the other by their side, their presence being closer than before.
This also works with the choice of closing off the possibility of Denki and Kyouka dating, showing that yeah, its a little embarrassing to think about that option for them, but what matters is their friendship and how its nice to have each other in contact while being a man and a woman. It looks random, but in this context I do get a purpose, while the romantic izuku and ochako interpretation makes it way more sloppy.
Choosing to make heroes disappear and keep the ranking system is the most difficult choice to understand, but I could see it as the whole narrative adapting to focus on what the characters need at the moment: to be closer to the ppl they care about, and express those feelings without the fear of being a burden for your friends. Like the story's world adapts to it in order to become a slice of life lol. The ranking system thing also takes away from the only "positive" quality it had in the story, the competition for Katsuki and Izuku; they cant focus on that, and they dont, so instead Katsuki needs to have a different goal in the story (which honestly... its clear it involves Izuku, textually multiple times expressed), while Izuku has found a new thing to do, start considering how others want to be special in his life, bc he is special. To think more highly of himself.
Katsuki is the character that leaves without a clear way of life for himself after 431, so it would make sense to explore more about his future (but I wont go as far as to say the one shot is going to be about him).
This also explains why Ochako feels weird about talking to him, like shes waiting for him to show an interest in talking to her instead of her being the one interacting first -when he wasn't in the hero field she was able to focus on her goals and thats it, mostly talking to others in a work context, but once he starts using the suit that means she is reminded of how unable she is of actually live her life and stay in contact with the friend she cared about, how she cant express "hey, I want to talk to you more!" like its nothing bc its been years, its not casual anymore. Also, thinking about someone and then all of the sudden they appear saying exactly what you were thinking about (to talk more) while you keep thinking about the cutest girl in the world telling you how she loves you and you should take the chance to live your life and love how you love, yeah, I would also be embarrassed. Her not knowing how to deal with the awkwardness of that conversation feels better to me.
But well, this is just me, I understand this part is also difficult to understand, but I still feel like like its better, to me, than "ochako loved him since she was 15 and never got over it but never thought about him until he got the suit and also doesn't even try to confess just agrees to talk more and himiko is the queer character pushing her to live a hetero life". I think its clear Ochako's issue was far more complex than her not accepting a crush on a boy, but believing her feelings, wants and needs are a burden to everyone, and 429 showed us how it was never about her hiding her crush or whatever the thing that was breaking her. Here she isnt breaking, but is emotional about what Himiko tells her and taking the steps to love like Himiko did -honestly, openly, expressing what she wanted from others clearly and with no doubts-.
What we see in the scene, with her accepting her words and Izuku's idea of reconnecting (which is shown to be open to rejection: this is the state of their friendship, where Izuku also understands Ochako could not want to talk to him more and just stay as old classmates instead; Deku isnt trying to be "subtle" and confess some romance, no with that body language, and instead is reaching out to reconnect their friendship, bc they arent close anymore; Ochako picturing heir moment of being happy together as them in high school also fits into this, along with her narration about her starting to see him more after the suit: they weren't really meeting before, and now they weren't talking, she just saw him more), isnt her wanting to now date him or express her romantic love since high school; for me to believe that, I would add her being "yes, I want to talk to you more from now on, but I want to be clear too: I fell in love with you, and want to date you". Again this could turn into a cute scene, with her having that agency to confess in a way that could fit them and Deku all embarrassed like "huh??!? you l-l-l-l-love m-m-m-me?!?", and laughing about the obliviousness, but instead the act of agency is her agreeing with talking to each other more, and deciding to make the bro hold -she decided to make the promise, and from my perspective, its to herself and Himiko.
This is the end of their relationship in the manga, with a promise that yeah, its to each other, but isnt about romantic feelings; they dont express an explicit romantic interest for their future and instead are made to not really talk to each other in these years during the time skip, making their friendship feel awkward and in need of both of them agreeing to talk to each other more.
I still haven't seen a single post explaining how the romantic interpretation is able to fill these holes (why would Katsuki be not happy and worried, why would they shut down kaminari and jirou as a couple, why would they bring up the villains and living to the fullest, why is izuku acting like that if thats a supposedly love confession from his part, why is he looking at her like that when its supposedly a "romantic look", why do they make a bro hold instead of holding hands in a romantic way, why making ochako and deku not talk in years, being their last nice moment together in high school, why does she only remembers she "loves" him after she sees him with the suit, why doesnt she confess first even after knowing he wants her in her life + himiko tells her to love how she wants, why would deku think katsuki is talking about romantic love, why would katsuki talk about romantic love in that context then, a long etc)
I prefer to think this love isnt romantic love, and while there are still tons of issues with the story at least I can understand why these decisions could fit there -reading the romantic interpretation, nothing made sense to me, and the characters just weren't themselves.
I can find peace with this instead, and I hope others also are able to calm down a little with me too -I have received for months now asks claiming many things, I want to answer them all with patience and care (mostly towards the nice ones/supportive ones/etc), and I dont think its okay for me to be seen as someone who supports the romantic interpretation of 431, when I believe is extremely wrong in so many levels.
I hope more ppl are able to enjoy the characters they love, and if leaving BNHA is the right decision for you, I hope things go well with you too. Just choose what calms your heart more in the long run.

hello! i like to ask this for a long time but i cant word it better since english isnt my first language
it is ok to portray a disabled character being bullied/abused due of their disability? or if it doesnt is there is another way to portray ableism that isnt just being bullied and abused?
Hello,
in general, yes you can write your character experiencing bullying and/or ableist abuse. That happens. But whether you should depends on what kind of story you're trying to tell, and how much you know about ableism as a type of discrimination. It absolutely doesn't end at bullying or abuse, and they aren't even the most prevalent ones by a long mile.
Not every story with disabled characters needs to have them experiencing ableism, especially not the physically violent kind. If your story doesn't focus on some sort of social commentary or disability rights theme, I'd consider how necessary it is for it to be there. Being disabled doesn't necessarily mean one will or has been bullied or abused.
There's approximately one billion kinds of ableism that aren't either of these. Just from the things that I'm sure you've seen/heard of before: lack of accessible infrastructure, lack of access to education, the cost of disability aids, the costs of chronic medication, medical negligence, eugenic rhetorics, "what happened to you?" (AKA invasive questions), intruding on the disabled person's personal space by touching them or their mobility aids (which could be both abuse or bullying, but probably not what you had in mind), being infantilized or seen as incompetent, the list could go on pretty much forever.
Ableism means discrimination against disabled people, which is a group so incredibly diverse that it's near impossible to tell you what you could portray your character experiencing without knowing what kind of disability they have. For some disabilities it gets so specific and unique that it gets its own name; see audism or disfiguremisia that affect Deaf people and people with facial differences respectively. If your character has PTSD, a lack of ramp won't affect them the same way it would a wheelchair or mobility scooter user. You have to take into account their actual disability, their background, when and where your story takes place, etc.
If you want to portray ableism as a part of your story or the character's backstory, the most important thing is research. Both disabled history; what ableism means and how it affected the disabled community long-term, as well as just talking to disabled people on what and how it affects them on the daily. You will see that microaggressions, financial barriers, and structural inaccessibility will be the most prevalent problems for a big portion of the population.
After you learn about ableism from the inside and out, you can think what works for your story - maybe it could be just "inaccessibility is everywhere and also able-bodied people are annoying" rather than an extremely sensitive scenario around a disabled person being physically abused for being disabled.
I will also say that while you can write about whatever you want, not all disabled readers are particularly excited to see stories where disabled characters get abused for being disabled. A lot of these tend to go into what I've called "torture porn" category, where the character is just subjected to seemingly endless suffering for no real reason and the whole thing generally just feels exploitative. So keep in mind that even though ableism exists, disabled joy is absolutely real and always has been there too.

Love For Love's Sake - Differences in the Kdrama and Novel: Spoiler Warning (Pt 1)
as the title says, i just wanted to spread information because I love this series and them soo much u cant pull me away from the grasp they have on me
the show is pretty faithful to the original, although there were some parts that were swapped for one reason or another - mostly due to time.
the way i'll do this is, i'll first say what happens in the Kdrama (since more people are familiar with it) and then what happens in the Novel - small changes like added dialogue / continuation of dialogue or simple swapped backgrounds wont be noted (unless I find it interesting, funny or of importance)
OR if the scene wasnt added to the drama at all, I'll note that down (and vice versa if the scene is not in the novel)
if something isnt explained - its because its exactly the same / similar enough to the Kdrama. also keep in mind that myungha has A LOT of internal dialogue in the novel - so some may be reference, some wont.
as usual im reading with a fan translation, so it may not be 100% accurate, but I'm trusting the fan who took the time out their day to translate - thank u to them
here we go <3
[EP1] INTRO ====>
KDRAMA:
The very first scene is of Yeowoon's empty desk with Myungha in the background blurred out -
then shots of Myungha running to Yeowoon and finally reaching his house
he calls for Yeowoon -
then the first title screen and cut to the bar
NOVEL:
the very first thing is actually the scene of Yeowoon crying at his match asking why Myungha is so nice to him
this scene is very short and ends here after this question as Myungha pauses and thinks for an answer.
Myungha then explains mentally (basically providing context for the reader) that he is 29 and has about a year left to live if he cant make his fav happy
then cut to myungha in the bar
[EP 1] WAKING UP IN THE GAME ====>
KDRAMA:
Myungha is asleep at his desk - he wakes up startled
he jumps to his feet and is shocked by his surroundings
he is subsequently scholded and sent outside by the teacher
Myungha then laments for a bit until class is over where he meets Kyunghoon for the first time
myungha asks kyunghoon many questions about the world
myungha gets a flashback to the bar,
myungha then asks about yeowoon
he then rushes to find his fav
NOVEL:
the very first time myungha wakes up in this game world is not written down in the novel - instead it is mentioned he just woke up in the game (it was very casual - Myungha doesnt really panic)
its clear that at least a day had passed since he had come into this world (but that day isnt written)
myungha is in the faculty room - being scolded by a teacher
the teacher shouts at him for cheating on a quiz given previously (one he had done after he entered the game)
some insight over myungha being a 'dumb delinquent' is expressed here for the first time - with the teacher saying this random high score is unbelievable (Myungha usually has one of the lowest scores in the school)
after some shouting and a few slaps with a folder, the teacher lets him go, telling him not to cheat again but he has no real proof to keep him
Myungha bows before going back to his class, noting the strange environment he was thrown into (essentially giving context to his surrounds and the world)
myungha enters his class and gets his first ever message to make Yeowoon happy - he is dumbfounded by it and is scolded by the teacher to sit down.
myungha does as told and does a quiz until the bell rings
after class, Myungha roams the halls - other students avoid him (with even more context on myungha being a delinquent), he then meets Kyunghoon for the first time.
they talk about yeowoon (myungha doesnt get any flashbacks to the bar) he is about to go find his fav...
but he stops when Kyunghoon mentions the next class is about to start
myungha sighs and goes to class first - (he doesn't rush off immediately) this scene is to show Myungha's responsibility and his older 29 age - he's been worn down to be complacent by years of jobs - he's not like his 19 year-old self
he explains his surrounding a bit more and then gets a splinter telling him this isn't a dream - he needs to change yeowoon's 18
after class, myungha rushes to yeowoon's class
[EP 1] FIRST MEETING / SAVING YEOWOON ====>
(TW : Suicide)
KDRAMA:
Myungha is outside yeowoon's class asking a student who has no clue where yeowoon is or lives - just that he never turned up
the student leaves
myungha pieces together the time and date to yeowoon's grandma's death and therefor knows whats next (yeowoon's broken leg)
myungha gets a pop-up and agrees to find yeowoon - following the map
he rushes to yeowoon
myungha complains about not having money and then decides to run
myungha runs to yeowoon and reaches his house
myungha sees him standing ontop the brick fence - about to jump
myungha pulls him off without a word (besides calling out his name)
myungha gets the 'the world has now changed cuz of your actions' message
NOVEL:
the student myungha grabbed actually knows that yeowoon's grandma passed but doesnt know anything else before he leaves becuz he's scared of myungha
Myungha gets the pop-up and the map and begins running to yeowoon, lost in thought.
he thinks about Yeowoon's entire life - about his mother passing when he was young (only mentioned here but more on that in a later chapter) and father being a deadbeat - how his grandma is the only person who he loved before she passed of a chronic illness
and how after the passing, yeowoon got into a car accident (also mentioned later) and broke his leg - making him lose his scholarship and money - making his life as dark as myungha's
myungha jumps over the school gates and rushes to yeowoon's location (once more complaining about having no money and repeating his original age)
myungha reaches his house
yeowoon is standing on the OTHER SIDE of the fence, on the very edge (the fence here is a short, thin iron one so yeowoon doesnt stand ontop of it)
myungha realises that yeowoon's 'car accident' was actually him jumping off the roof
when myungha comes on the roof, he stratles yeowoon and yeowoon loses balance, letting go of the fence and falling off.
myungha rushes over and barely manages to grab yeowoon's hand (yeowoon had actually fallen off the roof)
the fence digs into myungha's stomach as yeowoon hits the side wall with a thud (luckily myungha caught him before he had fallen too far)
myungha sees his reflection in yeowoon's eyes and gets his 'Cha Yeowoon recoginses you' message.
myungha digs his heels into the ground asking yeowoon to 'please not die'
at first it was straining and difficult, but eventually myungha manages to pull yeowoon over the fence.
yeowoon lands ON TOP of myungha - back safely onto the roof
myungha takes a few moments to think about how beautiful yeowoon is
yeowoon gets up -
myungha gets the 'the world has changed cuz of your actions' message
[EP 1] FIRST ICECREAM ====>
KDRAMA:
outside the store
Myungha and yeowoon choosing icecreams
they choose and myungha goes to pay - he doesnt have enough so he borrows some from yeowoon
yeowoon doesn't even question it and hands over 300 won
they get the icecream and leave
they talk about how myungha is 1 year older but acts like he's 11 years older - yeowoon then says myungha is just like the sports club (cuz of his annoyance/ego)
yeowoon tries to leave but myungha gets a debuff and drags yeowoon to his house to stay the night
as they reach the busstop, the bus already arrived so they rush on - myungha makes yeowoon pay for his ticket
myungha sits in the back with yeowoon in the front
myungha searches up 'love supremacy zone'
the bus arrives at their stop and the pair get off.
myungha tellls yeowoon its going to be a walk to his house
NOVEL:
outside the store
Myungha holds out two coins, telling yeowoon to get whatever he wants (within reason)
myungha complains about the prices in his mind - and about inflation
yeowoon says he'll buy his own but myungha stops him.
then yeowoon suggests buying it for each other - but myungha is embarrassed by an 18 year old buying him icecream
yeowoon groans and drags myungha to a store with 50% off. they get their icecream from there (myungha pays for both)
with icreams in hand, yeowoon sighs loudly while he eats - he asks why icecreams, but myungha says kids like it (they talk about age and if myungha is in the sports club just like the Kdrama)
myungha calls yeowoon rude and yeowoon shrugs and says he hears that a lot. myungha realises yeowoon is much ruder than in his friend's novel - all his puppy-dog tailwagging is reserved for the female protagonist. (this part makes me giggle)
myungha asks if this is yeowoon's personality always or if he is just being bitchy right now - yeowoon says all the time. myungha says he isn't shocked yeowoon has no friends - yeowoon then tells myungha to name his own friends then. myungha cant. (i giggle x2)
myungha asks exactly why yeowoon cant make any friends, is it because his personality is so bad? (no joke he actually asks this - i giggle x3)
at this point yeowoon is somewhat annoyed and just agrees, telling myungha to go home. myungha doesn't, and they continue walking while eating icecream
when they reach a near yeowoon's house, yeowoon tells him to go away.
Myungha doesnt leave and asks to stay the night at yeowoon's place - yeowoon is visibly shocked so myungha backtracks and instead takes yeowoon to his house.
myungha gets the debuff and his resolve strengthens - myungha grabs his arm and drags him away
Yeowoon complains on the way to the busstop about getting bruises from myungha's grip while myungha acts like nothing is wrong and shrugs saying he should have given in
they wait at the busstop for a few minutes
yeowoon says he wont go, but myungha jokes and says he has no money to get himself home then - yeowoon says this is extortion.
the bus arrives
myungha drags him to the doors, yeowoon tries to leave but the driver shuts the doors immediatly as they enter
yeowoon swipes his card and tells the driver he's paying for both (myungha really thought yeowoon wouldnt pay for him)
myungha then gushes mentally over how yeowoon is still a good guy inside despite his exterior
myungha jokes "wow you paid for me" - yeowoon tells him not to talk to him.
yeowoon takes a seat at the front, myungha grumbles, telling him to sit together at the back but yeowoon doesnt even pretend to listen
myungha contemplates standing, but doesnt want fondess to low even more - and instead goes to the back
myungha searchs up about 'love supremacy' (same as kdrama)
myungha deosnt even realise when the bus stopped until driver tells him to get off - myungha apologises and does -
Myungha tells yeowoon its going to be a walk to the house
=========================================
i've decided to only do four in this post - i'll do more later - perhaps tommorow or the day after
also Yeowoon is so much more bratty in the novel and i love it
i want to do as many as possible in one post, but not make it overwhelmingly too much for one post
if you have any questions or just wanna talk about LFLS, please do <3

Saw someone of yall making gifs of High Potential so I took a look. Im quite surprised, by the first few minutes I thought it was gonna be just anogher copaganda. I dont know for sure thats its not copaganda, however halfway into the episode, kooky protagonist "consultant" has stolen evidence from a place she has no right to be and presents it to the detective shes working with. He tells her "that was illegal, I cant have this in my posession, it is inadmissable in court and I should arrest you....put it back exactly where you found it and this never happened". End of the episode the drs boss calls him in to ask why someone dressed rather inappropriately for cleaning staff was seen entering person of interests office twice today ie accountability. Episode 2 involved no illegal shenanigans, just an attempt to speed up getting q car out of impound through official channels.
So thats nice and I hope it continues this way, but thats clearing what should be an easy bar. What makes this show good is aforementioned kooky protagonist, and I say this with love. Incredibly neurodivergent, she names a condition I think is made up, like high potential intelligence or something and names having an iq of 160, whatever iq is racist. And its not like supersmart unlock percentage of your brain myth or whatever, she notices everything about everyone and her mind doesnt shut up. Shes recently split from her partner and theyre coparenting a teen, a ten year old and a baby, her car is getting repaired, shes at the supermarket calculating her groceries down to the cent and its played like oh shes smart but shes obviously also poverty shopping. She mentions not being able to keep a job and tbh its unclear what her level of formal education is. Incredibly relatable mess. Shes does know random facts about everything and the show makes a point of her explaining, she saw this one in a documentary she learned that one from taking her kids on an outing. Her kids are important to the show, the A plot is ending up involved in policework, and its not at all that her domestic life is boring or meaningless because thats clearly not the case, but working with the cops putting together clues is an intellectual stimulation that she enjoys. This could easily be an "I need an escape from the kids" show and it very much isnt and I appreciate that. The B plot is that her eldests dad disappeared 15 years ago and she wants the police's help to find him because they didnt believe her when he disappeared, said he walked out on purpose, and because of this the teen daughter is very important to the story.
I really like it so far. I hope it keeps up the quality. 2 episodes in it has a bit of monster of the week vibes, but Ill give it space to breathe and see how it goes.

A celebration of an anime with one of the best female representation in shonen
When I was getting into Gintama for the first time, the last thing o was expecting was good female representation. After all, this was a shonen from the early 2000s, they're not really known for having the best female representation in fiction.
Or at least non-physically strong women.
Usually in shonen, a woman's worth and role in the story is based on if she can fight as good as the men. And if she cant, she's labelled as useless both in the narrative and by fans ( for example, Sakura being the most hated female character of all time, just because she isnt as good of a fighter as the main characters; Erza scarlets and Yoriichis whole popularity hinging on the fact that they are hot, badass women who kick ass, etc)
In fandom and in the shows themselves, non combative women are usually looked down upon or relegated to the love interest or emotional drive for the male main character, and while those are not bad roles and are important in their own right, having a female character who is a non combative person be the star of their own arc is not usually seen
(there are exceptions though. For instance, FMAB and one piece have various non combative women who go through character arcs, though, they are few and far between. Eg. Winery and her quest for revenge, Shirahoshi facing her fears, etc)
Thats where Gintama came in. There were female characters who were not fighters and still were the main characters in their own stories. They had agency and actively drove the plot of their arcs.
Three main examples come to mind:
1. Tatsu the blacksmith: in the first action arc of the series, Benizakura arc showed how versatile sorachi was at writing female characters. In this arc alone we had Kagura and Matako being complete badasses, but we also had the woman who was the catalyst for the arc. I like to call Tatsu the MVP of the Benizakura arc, because without her, Gintoki would never have won. First, she was the one who commissioned Gintoki to defeat her brother, second, she literally made a sword to defeat the Benizakura. At the end of the day, she fought her own battle. A battle of ideology between her and her brother. And she won.
2. Otose: I could speak at length how much I love otose as a character. She is an older woman whose main issue isnt being old, like many older women in Shonen (ahem, ahem, Tsunade ahem, ahem), and she's also a female character who never lifts a finger to fight, much like the other women on this list. She is an incredibly complex character whose strength is her kindness. She is kind to all people, and in turn, people gather to help her. I love the 4 devas arc because of that. While the other 3 devas personally fought, Otose literally had an arm of people fighting in her stead. All the people who she had positively affected and personally helped all gathered together to help her in the end. Such an icon!
3. Hinowa: I love hinowa so much. She's the reason I began writing this in the first place. In fact, the Yoshiwara in Flames arc is one of my personal favorite arcs in the series. I just love how she is portrayed as this strong and empowering figure whose will was so strong, she was called the sun of Yoshiwara. Tsukuyos reason to fight was to protect hinowa and the other women of Yoshiwara. Her strength of will and character is the reason why the arc begins in the first place. If she hadn't saved Seita as a baby, he would have never come back to try and save her. She is the light and hope of so many oppressed women, she is why they keep going. Because if Hinowa can keep going, so can they. Word of her strength was so widespread that Kamui even wanted to fight her, thinking her strength was physical. Not only that, she becomes essentially the community leader in Yoshiwara after its liberation, only adding to the fact that these women absolutely loved and respected her as a person. Not to mention, ahe is sassy and snarky and rebellious. She definitely deserves more love and i wish she had more screentime. more .
While the more combative women such as Kagura, Tsukuyo, Sacchan, Otae, Kyubei and Matako are great and amazing characters in their own right, people do not talk about these women enough.
I just wanted to ramble over female representation in anime and kinda went overboard.😅😅

I have never really liked sasusaku, but arranged marriage sasusaku au. Writing as the thought comes to mind so they may not be endgame.
So sakura comes from The merchant clan. The harunos are super important to the village and its really important not to piss them off. At 6 years old sakura starts insisting she wants to be a ninja and her grandmother, the clan matriarch, agrees that she can join the academy and become a ninja if she does well.
The uchiha meanwhile, are approaching the point of no return with their political instability. And then they hear that the granddaughter of the Haruno head is now training as a ninja and they see the perfect way to reestablish a foothold in the villages power structure and a buffer between them and danzo.
So 6 year old sakura ends up at dinner at the uchihas to meet sasuke. She hates him. He's a spoinled brat who keeps hiding behind his mom and loudly whining about anything and everything, and little sakura was very mature for her age. She has a few nice moments pf interacting with itachi about the academy before sasuke realizes his brother's attention isnt on him and gets between them, but all the other adults dismiss her completely and dont even properly speak to her.
Sakura decides she hates all of them.
The arrangement goes through.
(Mikoto is not happy about it, her baby is only 6. But she figures that it's not set in stone since a proper engagement cant happen until theyre 16 and a traditional marriage has to wait until 19. The haruno also dont fully expect it to go that far and are fully aware that the uchiha are trying to gain advantage in the village, but theyre ready to milk this for all its worth. Itachi thinks it's adorable. The uchiha elders dont care how it ends up as long as they get what they want. Danzo is furious and the third is staying out of it (because he sucks) while the other clans are biding their time until they see how this is going to go.)
Sakura being engaged(to be engaged) to sasuke does change her dynamic at the academy a bit. She does have other kids who mess with her at first, but its shut down by sasuke and some other aolder uchiha. This pisses sakura off because while it wasnt a battle she wanted to fight, that didnt mean he coild fight it for her. She befriends ino on accident and encourages her friends crush on sasuke because she does Not want him. His fiance hating him kind of puts a damper on ino's crush though.
The engagement is enough to keep the massacre from happening.
Sasuke doesnt like sakura in the way that he doesnt realize he kind of likes her. At some point her getting mad at him makes his heart flutter. Also, uchiha are possessive by nature and he sees her as his (the reason why he stepped in when other kids were making fun of her).
The other uchiha at the academy think its the funniest shit in the world even though they would never let that kind of slight towards the main family slip in any way. If you find sakura having one of her onesided arguments with sasuke because he was following her or something you can also find several older uchiha kids making aggressive eye contact with eachother, mentally daring eachother to slip up so they can laugh without worrying about someone snitching. (There is a rare occasion where shisui, who often volunteers as the uchiha-haruno liason, is found actually laughing his ass off at their antics. The other uchiha still dont laugh though, because being blackmailed by shisui is way worse than getting chewed out by an elder.)
Their engagement is known among the clans and the civilian politicians, but its not exactly common knowledge. Not everyone knows. Naruto doesnt know, and he still jas a massive crush on sakura.
So team 7's genin dynamic now becomes sakura hates sasuke who likes sakura but more than that just knows theyre going to be together forever because that's how its always been, sasuke hates naruto because hes an idiot who has a massive crush on sakura, who also hates him because he's an idiot who has a massive crush on her. And naruto sees sasuke as his ultimate rival (just in ninja, he straight up does not realize that sasuke likes sakura. He thinks theyre just wierd friends the way her and ino are kind of wierd.).
Sakura and sasuke are able to quietly sit next to eachother without issue by the time theyre graduating, theyre frequently together whenever sakura isnt with ino. Thr sevond naruto shows up an argument immidiently starts though.
In kakashi's romance novel language, its a classic enemies to lovers love corner set up. And kakashi is Invested. He thinks this is the funniest shit ever.
Now onto graduation. Im dropping the wierd kidnapping expired milk plot. The narusasu kiss still happens though. Naruto pranks kakashi, kakashi says he hates them and gets himself added to sakura's List.
Sakura likes hanging out with ino and learning chakra theory and does not answer her dislikes or goals for the future (which are, respectivly, marrying sasuke and not marrying sasuke). Sasuke likes his brother and tomatoes, dislikes naruto and people trying to take what's his, and wants to takeover the police force. Naruto likes ramen and sakura, dislikes the three minutes ot takes for ramen to cook and sasuke, and is going to become hokage.
The bell test goes pretty much the same as canon in that they fail the first part, except this time sakura and sasuke have a onesided argument early on, sakura's genjutsu is some flavor of her actually being married to sasuke and she starts gagging when she breaks it (and she does break it, she's been put under genjutsu by other uchiha before), and sasuke tries to start a brawl with naruto when he claims he's gonna get the second bell for sakura. Naruto is tied to a pole, sakura and sasuke feed him, they pass the test.
Kakashi is promptly accosted by first his cute kohai itachi (who wants him to take training his brother seriously) and then a haruno contingent (who want him to take training sakura seriously). He then meets the other new instructers to bemoan his cute students and their families only to be told he needs to take training them seriously. No one understands him.
(He goes to bed with the image in his mind of kushina and minato yanking him aside in the market to make fun of him and then tell him to take training naruto seriously. Not even his own brain understands him.)
Im trying to think ahead and decide where the funniest moment for naruto to find out that sakura and sasuke are engaged. And what ideas would be good for the time skip because i dont like the timeskip and sasuke's not defecting anyway.
Ive decided earlier is better.
The first month of training is always d ranks. So there's some training but mostly kakshi kicks back to make fun of them as the pull weeds and chase cats. On one such mission kakashi is laser focused in on them as the secret comes out. He wishes he had popcorn.
So naruto is bumbling around and knocks into sakura, who is caught by sasuke. Naruto turns to start apologizing while sakura revs up to start yelling at him when the old lady theyre working for calls them "such a cute pair." Naruto starts yelling because theyd be a cuter pair, sakura starts yelling because Gross, and then sasuke is like, "well she's my fiance."
Naruto sputters and sakura groans. She tells the old lady that theyre not technically engaged yet, but is mostly drowned out by naruto and sasuke's ensuing brawl.
Kakashi watches for as long as he could before the damage they were causing became too much and he was forced to step in. Sakura just wants to dissapear.
Now naruto's sitting there with some comedically sized bruises, crying and asking if its true. Sakura sighs and says yes and he colapses to the ground.
Its all very dramatic.
Cue uchiha family+team dinner, which sasuke finally agreed to because he wants to be like, look at my family with My Fiance. The only time Kakashi has ever been on time to anything because he doesnt want to miss a second.
Sakura is already there talking pleasantly to itachi about chakra pathways (itachi has been getting her books since she was little, i dont think i ever mentioned that. Itachi still thinks they are adorable and is fine with bribing her to come over with increasingly rare books). Sasuke eventually stopped trying to force them not to interact after the first few years and is fine with it as long as he is also sitting directly next to them.
Kakashi is giggling to himself as naruto is ushered in by mikoto still looking shell shocked. His entire world has been turned on its head.
Dinner starts formally and then drifts into casual conversation. Sasuke makes eyecontact with naruto and scoots closer to sakura, who just gives him a wierd look before ignoring him. Naruto makes a noise like a dying cat.
Mikoto pulls him into conversation, smiling serenly (he's so much like kushina). He says some things that are red flags. Eventually after he mentions that he has a hard time buying groceries sakura offers to go with him in the name of team solidarity. Sasuke promptly offers to also go, "you hate shopping," "if its bc we're a team then the whole team should go."
So they go shopping. And the entire time sasuke is trying to mess with naruto subtly while sakura glares at him because he's being clingy like he is to itachi. Sakura is explaining how to choose produce and calories and nutrients and raising a disparaging eyebrow anytime a vender tries to say something about naruto being there. (The harunos are not ninja, they can say what they want.) Naruto is torn between giving her his full attention and bristling at sasuke's behaviour. Overall it's a very fun trip.
This brings us to the wave arc. Same as originally, naruto demands a cool mission and the hokage agrees (once again, theres some extra political moves going on. The og version of the team doesnt have strong political power). In comes tazuna.
Their sendoff has a bit more fanfare this time, with itachi and mikoto saying goodbye to sasuke and itachi giving sakura a new book and some snacks for the team.
When sakura first see the puddles she looks at kakashi but he shushes her. Literally. She is offended.
The two ninja pop out and "kill" kakashi. Sakura falls back into protective position and casts her own genjutsu. Naruto freezes and sasuke takes out one ninja and kakshi pops back up to take care of the other.
It continues like canon. Zabuza shows up, sakura's once again on defence, kakshi is caught and then the boys free him, haku spirits away an unconcious zabuza. They get to tazuna's with sakura taking lead and the boys carying kakashi because she's the only one who knows medical information. (A note: with the uchiha clan alive sakura and sasuke are already aware of kakashi's eye, and sakura has been briefed on what to do with chakra exhaustian.)
Sasuke takes this moment to continue taunting naruto with the fact he's engaged to sakura. Sakura does not appreciate sasuke's praise as a tool to mess with naruto. Tazuna is very confused.
I think kakashi continuing with the mission at this point is out of spite towards everyone who assumed hed be a bad teacher, might as well prove them right.
Kakashi goes to teach them tree walking but sakura and sasuke already know. He moves them to waterwalking, which sakura gets very quickly and is then sent on guard duty. Its at this point that the feelings of isolation naruto has really hits home. Not only are they engaged theyve had years more training than him.
Sakura talks trade routes and infrastructure with tazuna. She also helps carry heavy things with chakra enhanced arms. (I dont remember what fic i originally saw this in, but i love the image of sakura casually picking a steel beam that it usually takes 4 to 6 men to carry as they watch in awed confusion. Im definitly going to give her an oversized weapon later.)
The big moment of divergence here is that i want haku to live, so so does zabuza. So sakura, with her merchant family's knowledge that a jounin might know but a genin never would, speaks up naruto style, "instead of dealing with thugs like gato who are inevitably going to double cross you, wouldnt you want the strength of a village again?" zabuza gets pissed before sakura reveals that theres anlther coup forming with strong backers.
Ive lost steam at this point, rapid fire.
The invasion still happens during the chunin exams because i want the 3rd to die. The uchiha are able to cement their new goodwill status in the village and sakura naruto and sasuke are on civilian duty during the battle.
I think itd be funny to still break up the team. So sakura gets promoted. Theres some political stuff that goes into it (a wedge between her and sasuke is a bonus to those who are still against the uchiha clan) but also she did well and tsunade has a minimum she needs to fill.
Tsunade mercs danzo prerty early on too.
Post chunin itachi takes naruto shopping while sakura is busy, sasukes is pissed. Cue brotherly bonding.
At the end of wave the whole team started getting touchier with eachother (started by sasuke clinging to sakura to prove he could and progessing to reassure naruto that he was a teammate they care about.
At some point after they all start displaying casual affection between eachother shisui starts a rumor that all 3 are dating.
With sakura busy with chunin training sai is put onto their team. It takes awhile for them to get used to it.
Naruto and sai become roommates.
They have study sessions at naruto's place because he'll need better knowledge of politics if he's going to become hokage.
Sasusaku is endgame.
Im dome for now.

Coming off age fic
That has definitely 100% always been there
ask me about my wips based on only the google docs title
Yup, this one was totally there the whole time. Yup. Definitely
This is alternatively known as my latest attempt at saddling one of my guys with a child, and as a side hobby I do rather enjoy making Pierre suffer. And I do think I peaked with this as a wip doc title. Change my mind.
Anyway, 3k Pierresteban yapping down below the cut, starring Pierres teenage daughter as the primary instigator of anything. Also this isnt proofread asdfghj
So first of all, on Pierre's daughter cause she has already outgrown the title of The Kid. And also because I already love her and I have emotionally attached myself to her.
Anyway meet Lucille Pascale Gasly. The name is being workshopped but yes, she gets an obnoxious French name with Pierre's moms middle name thrown in there for good measure probably. The first name was largely the fist French name that I thought of that I liked so it might get changed but the spirit of the name stays. Then Pierre has his dad's name as his middle name and I wanted Lucille to have a middle name so Pascale it is. In my heart she is also the only Gasly granddaughter so she is spoiled as heck by her grandparents.
Lucille is actually sort of an accident baby. Her mom is probably some French or maybe Italian or mayhaps even Spanish actress or a model of some kind that Pierre slept with a couple times and she ended up pregnant and keeping the kid. Pierre, for once in his life, embraced the concept of being responsible and is actually a wonderful dad and his coparenting relationship with Lucille's mum is lovely. He is the main parent mostly cause A) he is technically unemployed so he has more time and B) he is the former racing driver and knows more about racing then Lucille's mum could ever so it makes sense that hes the primary custodial parent. But yes, their coparenting relationship is a textbook example of a good relationship (and also for the record its a generally well known that Pierre was never properly together with Lucille's mum. They are two mature adults who made mature decisions they considered the whole way through and not being in a relationship does not change the fact that Lucille is their kid and they care for her).
So yes, Lucille is loved and has a great relationship with both sides of her family. Which means that she is also a grade A menace, more about that later tho. Something about apples and trees idk. Pierre did not mean to be one of those dads whose kids follow in their footsteps but she did ask about racing and then wanted to try karting and the rest is history. He does however maintain that if she ever wants to change where she is going with her life she can at any point, no questions asked. Unfortunately Lucille is dedicated to the bit. And a menace on top of that.
Present day, Lucille has taken the junior formula series by storm. Other girls have made it further than she is right now, but its the sort of if she was a boy she would already probably be hailed as a generational talent thing (Pierre for his part is terrified of that prospect. Charles helps tho, both directly by being a good friend who too was once seen as a generational talent and indirectly by proving that being a generational talent isn't necessarily a curse). F1A? Easy work along with a couple other F4 series. FRECA? Done and dusted. F3? Cannot be that hard, right?
This is where Esteban comes in. Somehow after retiring he has started working with F1A and became some sort of an ambassador in higher junior formula making sure that no matter what the girls have someone to bat for the. Or something like that, its not really important, but he does have a history of being friendly towards the Alpine juniors and iirc hes one of the few drivers on record directly supporting the F1A girls so from his side of things, its not that far fetched. Alternatively, something something Susie did her thing, look I just need it for the plot okay?
And despite Lucille very much having someone in her corner, hi yes her father is a retired F1 driver as well, its not going to change just cause of that. And also, she is not even going to argue because she is hella curious about who Esteban is.
Cause here is the thing: she knows her dad and Esteban knew each other. She has seen the photos from when they were younger at grandma Pascale's place, she knows who Anthoine is and why her dad looks always slightly more scared and why he fiddles with the cross chain he wears more whenever she has to race at Spa even though they changed the circuit, and no one has gotten more than bruised there in years, decades even, and she has obviously met Charles before. Countless times. He might as well be a fifth uncle to her with how close he and Pierre are. So she is damn curious what gives about Esteban.
The fact that they were teammates makes it even more baffling. She has met Yuki plenty of times, sure she does not see him as often as Charles, but she privately suspects it has to do with the fact that Charles lives significantly closer than Yuki does. And sure Pierre's not close with his other former teammates but she has met plenty of them over the years, bottom line the year she was racing in F1A and she hung out around the F1 paddock more she said hi to most of them whenever they appeared at a GP.
Even worse, she has seen the race replays, she has watched Brazil '24 countless times, she has seen the pictures. She really wants to know what gives, he sounds like such a cool person, and her dad gets so fucking sad whenever she asks. Or whenever she wants to watch any race from 2023 or 2024, especially Brazil. She watches those on her own now, there are plenty other fun races both her and her dad can enjoy together. She is sort of insane about the rewatching races thing. They're like movies to her. Shes an F1 nerd through and through, only movies she's ever seen are either when her friends physically drag her to a cinema or its a movie her mother acted in because she is dedicated to the whole 'well if I know every single race my father ever raced in front to back back to front I should probably at least know the movies my mum acted in' bit.
So Esteban is very much a mystery. And she is nothing if not determined. And a menace, as established.
Meanwhile Pierre absolutely fucking forgets that yes. She is now in F3 racing internationally again. Right. Yeah. She will run into Esteban, its a miracle she has not run into him just yet, he works with F1A, she raced in F1A, he is aware of how much she idolizes him and maybe if he just told her that they had a falling out she would stop asking him about Esteban and stop being so curious. But he cannot bring himself to talk about Esteban, he has been putting off unpacking everything about Esteban, from start to finish, for decades. He can continue a little longer.
And then he rocks up to Albert Park for the first race of the season, where F3 is one of the supporting series. Lucille disappears somewhere into the F3 end of the paddock immediately, Pierre takes the long tour around to say hi to the people in the F1 paddock. Its a habit he developed two years back when Lucille was racing in F1A, he is a rich unemployed father, of course he will show up to most if not all of her races and he might as well say hi to his friends along the way. Charles definitely probably still hangs around in some capacity I fully believe.
And by the time he gets all the way to the F3 paddock, Lucille is back to being a bit of a menace to the entire crew (an affectionate menace, to be said. She may be a lot but she also has manners. Her mum made sure of that. And Pierre helped as well. Probably), and Esteban. And thats where Pierre starts suffering and he does not stop suffering for the rest of the season.
In hindsight, it makes sense Lucille already met Esteban, they do a shit ton of testing in junior series before even the first race weekend, and Esteban is more or less meant to be her mentor, of course he would be there for all the testing. That does not mean he actually thought about it until he has been confronted with the reality that yes, this is actually happening.
Because he is an engaged dad, he is unemployed and does not need to be employed for several lives probably so he can and he will go to as many of Lucille's races as possible or until she kicks him out. But now he gets front row tickets to the fact that the one person Pierre is sort of hung up on - romantically or otherwise - has taken his daughter under his wing and that she is adopting some of his mannerisms and especially driving quirks. He knows she took this corner that way because thats how he saw Esteban take it. Hes seen the telemetry when they were teammates, he is allowed to peek at Lucille's telemetry as well, it is very close considering this is a different series decades later.
And he knows that she takes after him a lot in driving, but she is still developing at a rapid pace, Esteban's advice still has a profound impact that cannot be understated. So he gets to spend the entire damn season watching Lucille sort of become a blend of his and Esteban's approach to driving. And it hurts. A lot. He cannot stop he, he shouldn't stop her from driving, and he is still immensely proud of her, but at the same time there is a slight pain in his chest when he sees her race that wasn't there in the previous years.
As for Esteban, he is sort of. Weird about the whole thing as well, though he is much better at not letting it show. It felt bittersweet, when he realized that there is another tiny Gasly running around first karting races and then later single seater races. Maybe he even avoided the F1A paddock more than usual the year Lucille was competing in that series. But he also has a job to do and he has processed most of his feelings on his and Pierre's falling out, whats done is done, there is no point in dwelling on it.
So he has moved on, and when during testing he meets Lucille for the first time, she does have a lot of Pierre's personality traits, both cause she is his daughter and cause he is the primary parent. She is loud and brash and friendly, always down to something slightly unhinged, but she also can be serious and thoughtful if she tried. Which is not to say Pierre was not serious and thoughtful, but there is a distinct difference to the way Pierre was when he was serious and the way Lucille is when she is serious.
It sort of hurts to how she immediately clicks with her new teammates, how it only takes a few minutes before she pulls out her phone to show off the cats that hang around her mums villa in southern Italy because that is so reminiscent of Pierre and his easy friendships, but its fine. He gets a little misty eyed when he remembers how he, Pierre, Charles, and Anthoine were at that age but he shakes it off rather quickly. Its in the past now.
And over time, as he sees her drive its yeah. She has some of Pierre's mannerisms and she is so obviously his child, but she is equally as obviously not him. Maybe there is something in him that pushes him a little bit more than usual to make sure she succeeds, but at the end of the day, she is a firecracker and she works so hard on her own, never riding on her fathers coattails, she can and she will fight for her own success on her own with her own skills and abilities. And Esteban will do his best to be sure she makes it because thats what he does, thats what he went and decided to do after he retired, thats what he enjoys, seeing the next generation succeed with more ease than he did, with less pain and heartbreak along the way.
(He probably regularly gets invited to non single-seater races as well by the kids that he once mentored. It is one of his favorite things, seeing his kids succeed)
Sure, he is a bit miffed at first about Lucille asking so much about him, for fucks sake she is Pierre's daughter and Pierre has never stopped talking about Esteban at least to the media but then he does answer some of her questions and it sort of occurs to him whats going on. He has been fairly over the falling out for years, longer than either of them have been retired, and its still hard for him to talk about it in private, much less to someone like Lucille, who is so close to the whole thing, it must be even worse for Pierre. Esteban is not stupid, he is fully aware that Pierre is nowhere as over the whole thing as he is.
So he does tell Lucille the broad strokes of the story and when she admits that her dad does not like talking about it and that he gets sad when they watch races from when he and Esteban were teammates, he ruffles her hair maybe because he always inevitably gets attached to the kids he is in charge of, an older brother sort of feeling, and they move onto car setup and how to best drive around the circuit. More neutral terms.
And the season goes on. Lucille is good. Really good. And it cannot be chalked up to the way the team set up the car, her teammates are doing okay but nowhere near as good as Lucille is. I am absolutely giving her Hungary and Monza as a win, Pierre probably sheds a couple tears when he watches her on the podium as La Marseillaise plays. And this is just F3. He will be bawling when she wins her first F1 race. No one told him being a father would be like this the universe is out to get him he is convinced.
Esteban too, gets maybe slightly more attached to Lucille than he does to the other kids. He does his best to keep his own feelings out of his work, but sometimes they slip through and sometimes, though more and more rarely as the season goes on, he thinks he maybe does it for the kids that he and Pierre once were, but this slowly becomes more and more rare.
And honestly, I've sort of lost the track of plot here, but at some point Pierre probably realizes that he and Esteban cannot go on like this again. Seeing each other so often, working towards the same goal, and still ignoring each other.
Therefore, at some point, I'm thinking lowkey after Hungary maybe, or during the Hungary race week (the second to last race week of the 2025 calendar for reference, Monza is last), that could be fun, Pierre decides to end this weird non armistice. Hungary if there is one last plot thread to be resolved, Monza if I just wanna end with this. Lucille wins the F3 championship, probably, Pierre finally stops his last little bits of denial that yeah, she is staying here, racing is what she wants in her future, he has to stop the denialism. That could probably be tied into the whole proper peace not an tentative armistice thing. Like I said. I lose the plot in the middle, but the F3 season is ten race weekends next year, so there is not that much time to make plot happen anyway lol.
But yes thats how it ends, probably. Or at least that's the end I imagine for now but its very much stc. They cannot start over, not fully, they have too much history for that, but at the same time they have not seen each other for over a decade, did not exchange a single word. They have changed, grown up, no longer the teenage boys they were when they fell out, nor the adults that forged a tentative friendship that got unceremoniously broken the moment Alpine dropped Esteban, they are both adults, proper ones this time, both role models to the new generation, they should man up and ignoring their feelings, especially Pierre.
Lucille of course also slowly matures throughout the fic. I'm strongly debating if its gonna be from her pov or from Pierre's. I'm leaning towards Pierre just cause most of the fic is about him, and how Lucille is lowkey on some days smarter and more emotionally mature than him, for being in the kids barely finish highschool here sport she is surprisingly smart and adult about a lot of things. Maybe an unfortunate sideffect of growing up with separated parents. But yes, Lucille at the end of the day is 16 turning 17 in the fic probably, she is going through a lot as well, she should have a little bit of a coming of age growing up as well 🙂↕️
(Another reason why Pierre isn't big on how fast she's progressing through the ranks -- shes still young and while hes probably not like a massively involved with anything like this, he still was over 20 when he got into F1 and its probably a good thing that he was this old)
Extra stupid thing I just thought of: the team in F1A that sponsored Lucille is Ferrari, and even though her mum is Italian and she has Italian citizenship and could in theory race under the Italian flag she refuses and is annoying and French about it. Alternatively Renaults back baby and more French than ever.
Also yes, as a short person I have decided to curse Lucille with being short as well. Shorter people have closer to hell or something, thats why she is such a menace.
Hopefully this made some semblance of sense, I did not mean for this to take several hours to write and to wite 3k words. Yeah. Yeah... I will just end the yapping with this
#ask#ask game#jay tag#lucille is annoying and french and that is the foundation to anything that happens in this fic. annoying french people being french#pierre loves her dearly. he also really wants to strangle her on some days. unfortunately its largely his fault she is like this and he#very much knows its his fault#anyway 3k words guys. do yall understand why answering these ask games takes an evening per ask? cause i cannot shut up
