oh gosh. vague, unsure hand motions. i haven't thought about it too much yet, since it's not really a part of my plan for the main story and therefore not the focus, and also like. shrugs. turtle biology??? mutant biology??? what a mystery. so idk what exactly a pregnancy would look like for them, though i do think they'd know about the existence of kiddos before any eggs actually entered the world.

i think that donnie would have a lot of feelings about it, like, you know, most people would, and there'd definitely be a lot of fear/anxiety/uncertainty (esp at the beginning) for a lot of reasons. but at that stage of his life, he is also in a really good, steady relationship with his partner,,, and has the support of his family,,, and it's definitely not like he HATES the idea of a Mini Him, he just hadn't planned on it so soon,,, (and also he is kind of, like. curious about the Whole Situation,,, scientist brain lighting up,,,)

he and sorrelshine definitely, like, go over all the pros and cons and discuss it at leNGTH on sEVERAL occasions before they come to any conclusion about what they're gonna do about it. but eventually, it's kinda just like...

guyysss i have such a good angsty teen/human au brewing in my brain,, gem and grian's snails are involved. they're these guys

basically the au follows gem, from when her house blows up due to a gas leak when shes at a sleepover at her friends house (sausage pearl and grian) when shes 14 through her working through her trauma from that event and into adulthood

its more fleshed out than that i promise 🫶🫶

grian has two pet snails and immediately gives one to gem when he finds out she's staying with them for a few weeks because her house blew up

fwhip and gem are twins and fwhip got very blown up oops. hes an ambulatory wheelchair user and an amputee (his right leg below the knee). he doesn't get a prosthetic fr a long time bc they're not a super well off family in the first place so he prioritises a good wheelchair and you know. a house. over a prosthetic for a pretty long while (a few years at least)

sausage is their half brother but lives with pearl and grian (and impulse! hes their dad. and maybe skizz. i think it would be funny if they adopted three kids together as homies) because his dad died and their family wasnt in the right financial situation to support three children. at least he stayed close?

uh yeah theres still more to it but still. gem gets a skateboard at some point and she and fwhip race down hills to see whos set of wheels is the fastest

But first part of the update (yes I’m doing this in parts) is the one I promised to share:

Castor and Pollux!!

And a quick confession: …after I last left my device actually reset itself, and lost everything that wasn’t backed up, and I had lost that previous design I did a sneakpeak of for them…

SO I REMADE IT!! >:3

This is Castor & Pollux in my Strayed!AU!! :3

I kind-of tried to make them bird-like... since I found out their constellation lore while designing them... (Zeus gets even worse everytime I hear about him)

So their designs are slightly swan-inspired (mainly just the cape), but they do have a special thingy that when they vanish, they turn into a swan-like form of light, and zip off faster than most can see

Also, as I had planned to show in a previous design (that got absolutely wiped), Castor has a special lyre, that to our eye has no strings, but it does. I picture the strings each give a small galaxy-colored burst that is only visible around the string for a short-amount-of-time when it's strummed..? Strung? Strammed? idk when he plays it And Pollux has... a club. A full-on club. A club made of asteroid rock. So technically it's a meteoroid I just realized while typing. a Meteoroid Club. that's what she has.

Also I had planned to change their abilities for this au... ...but based on my research it's already accurate-ish

Also I drew 'em with their hood down cus I was strugglin with that hood, they kept looking bald XD and plus I needed to know the hair-shape before guessing how it'd fit in the hood

So ye poofy hair, but actually medium compared to Castor & Pollux's hair lengths

(Also when their hood is on, the two little hair thingies still float above. I forget their name - and I don't trust myself to guess right - but I know it means Idiot Hair)

But yeyeye drawing them was fun!!

(Though I do still wonder: How did Meg/AyyyImmaNinja come up with those designs originally? I know they did research but like. that's amazing. they cooked.)

Out of curiosity, do you think your Gemini fan kids could exist in the shows canon universe? Marsh and Lake are seriously so adorable I’ve low key accepted as Donnie’s kids in the shows future canon. Also how does the krang apocalypse play out in the Gemini AU? Is it prevented or is there maybe Gemini bad timeline?

Gosh, I dunno-- I guess I don't see why not! :3c I hadn't ever thought about it too much, but there really isn't a ton of reason that they couldn't, assuming Donnie and Sorrel still meet!

Also, there are Kraang in the Gemiverse! I haven't exactly sorted out all the details yet, but what I do know is that there's no good future/bad future... there's just one timeline! The Kraang do invade and Gems and Co. do kick it in the Apocalyptic Warzone for a while... but the whole fam survives and they do eventually win the war!!! (because anything else made me too sad ; w ; and I realized at some point that it's my au so i can just do whatever I want :D yay)

gemini lets the sunshine bleed into her eyes and ears, lets it flood her every pore and spill out of her open mouth. it lights her up from the inside out, and it is warm and all encompassing and beautiful. it is asking something of her- what is she looking for, why is she here. gemini answers- i want to be better, i want to be beautiful, i want to be best. the sun and the hellmouth seem intimately willing to honor her requests. she feels the sunshine solidify, wrapping around her bones and bending them to its will. she feels her spine puncture her skin, growing and twisting into something beautiful on her back. gem cannot see, but she knows that she does not bleed, simply glows brighter. it is excruciating, it it lovely, and it is a price gemini is all too willing to pay.

Genuinely cant stand horror because im the worlds biggest scaredy cat but ive been looking into gemini home entertainment and now i cant stop thinking about a hawkins indiana version. A fake town in 1980s america with some dark force watching it from the shadows, taking people and killing them and forcing itself inside them, all while this lone laboratory attempts to neutralize the issue until the party gets involved. The government not doing anything to help hawkins so it seems like the residents are truly trapped in their own town while most arent even aware of this. The idea of being taken over and corrupted and made entirely different by something far away but still so close. Something crawling into your mind, tearing its way through your eyes and ears, some huge monstrous and unnamable beast in the sky looking down at you, unknowable, just watching. The whole thing with the flayed in season 3 reminds me of the fake people from gemini home entertainment. I think a really good au would be a series of home videos from the residents of hawkins documenting the strange and sudden demise of their town and their friends through forces more eldritch and horrific than they could imagine, but they think its just an earthquake or a fire. Maybe some psa’s from hawkins local news stations that start sending out unnerving messages about apocalyptic preparations and to not go into the forest and to watch out for your swimming pool at night. The home video aspect i think would do a lot to bring the horror to a more real level. The humans story from the non-understanding mind, a mind incapable of understanding, only falling prey to it
