The Huntress and the Flood - a Greek Mythology AU

I went and wrote another "short" (for me!) A.U. of the Aloy/Kotallo (Kotaloy) relationship for the AUgust prompt.

This one is not explicit for sexy times but it has somewhat graphic depictions of violence.

It plays around with the allusions to Greek gods and mythology that is used by the computer programmers in the canonical game.

But goes a bit overboard with it!

toli was born on 31st may along with his brother kadi, which makes them both gemini. that’s the only sign of his that toli knows, he does not understand the other stuff and does not wish to. he won’t shit on people for being into it, he just has zero interest.

tols loves to game, probably his fave way to play games is passing the controller back & forth playing a game together cos that’s how he grew up playing video games with his siblings. survival horror is probs one of his fave game genres tho he’ll play whatever interests him. if he’s playing competitive games, it has to be in a casual way otherwise he’ll just ruin it for everyone.

is sex a hobby? cos giving and/or receiving orgasms is one of his favourite parts of the day! he also enjoys exploring kinks, limits and learning about sex-related things

he likes to collect unique types of cigarettes, like different flavours, colours, etc. (he shares them with toby 🥰)

toli will always have music on in the car, doesn’t matter if he’s driving or not - there must be music. he lives with his 4 siblings so there’s usually at least one person’s music playing from somewhere at home (not that that stops him from playing his own music too) but if he’s home alone & the tv ain’t on, he’ll always put music on cos he isn’t used to the quiet.

due to having a big family, toli’s music tastes vary a lot and he’ll give most music a try but he prefers alt rock, punk, some pop punk tho he can appreciate a good acoustic or softer song too. he also loves heavier rave type music, stuff with good beats cos he thinks it’s great to fuck to 😉

this can vary wildly from au to au but in general canon, toli knows how to use a standard revolver, small caliber pistols and hunting rifles. can also strip and clean them. he also knows his way around a blade and if he’s using his fists, he does not know when to back down.

killing is dependent on au so yes and no? seriously wounded, yes, plenty of times. he’s sent kadi to the hospital a couple of times due to fighting or accidents, has caused his older brothers to bleed & is very proud of the fact that he broke two of dima’s knuckles one time (with his face). he’s also wounded toby before from being a little too heavy handed (when they’re fucking…mostly)

he’s broken toby’s heart & trust so many times i imagine the both of them have lost count. half the time, it’s cos toli was genuinely being an asshole, the other half is mostly toby decided toli was being an asshole 😂 and very very occasionally, he accidentally says something that comes across gayer & softer than he meant it and it breaks toby’s heart in a good way

but he’s also broken his siblings hearts a handful of times, their trust probably a whole lot more. it’s not something he really consciously tries to do to anyone tho, more just it’s a consequence of him being dumb/drunk/high/selfish/paranoid/jealous or any combination of the above.

toli is fucking shit at food that requires heat to be edible. he gets distracted or forgets what he’s doing too easily, doesn’t remember things are hot and he shouldn’t touch them bare handed & struggles to multitask. his siblings kinda had their hands full with him & kadi and didn’t exactly get around to teaching them to cook, especially because letting the two of them in the kitchen together was usually a bad idea. you’d either get mess or half the food would be eaten.

if you want a sandwich tho, he’s good at making those. it’s the main food he’ll make for himself and he tends to make weird concoctions that nobody but kadi and toby occasionally understand the logic behind (he often convinces them to try them, tho kadi is the one dumb enough to take a bite most often, 50% of the time toby’s self preservation skills kick in and remind him that he shouldn’t touch food toli made)

he also has a huge sweet tooth and always has sweets & chocolate stashes in any place he spends a significant amount of time in (this includes hidden stashes in his sibling’s & boyfriend’s rooms so he can snack when he’s hanging out with them)

he can sorta flip flop on this depending on the topic! toli is quite stubborn and set in his ways with his opinions on certain moral views & will not listen to other viewpoints. he struggles to admit if he’s in the wrong so often he’ll come off as a lot more close-minded than he actually is cos he goes on the defensive.

when it comes to people he cares about or likes, he loves to listen to them talk about their interests, hobbies, etc. and will try to ask questions to learn more about those things if he doesn’t know much about them. toli sometimes has difficulty stepping out of his bubble of knowledge cos often, when he tries to learn certain new things on his own, he struggles due to language barriers, feels dumb, gets angry & gives up. if he has someone to help interpret or explain things for him, he does a lot better.

Cyberkriminelle weiten ihr Angebot von Large Language Models (LLMs) und Deepfake-Technologien aus, produzieren mehr und vergrößern ihre Reichweite. Kriminelle Telegram-Marktplätze werben für neue ChatGPT-ähnliche Chatbots, die versprechen, ungefilterte Antworten auf alle Arten von bösartigen Fragen zu geben. Kommerzielle LLMs wie Gemini oder ChatGPT sind zum einen so programmiert, dass sie die Beantwortung von böswilligen oder unethischen Anfragen verweigern. Zum anderen vermeiden Kriminelle bekannte Dienste wie ChatGPT, da sie durch regulierte Tools befürchten, aufgespürt zu werden. Mit Jailbreak-as-a-Service-Frontends können Nutzer böswillige Fragen in spezielle Eingabeaufforderungen verpacken, was den ethischen Codex der KI-Tools umgeht. Denn sie sind darauf ausgelegt, ein kommerzielles LLM dazu zu bringen, eine ungefilterte Antwort zu geben. Alte kriminelle LLMs neu aufgelegt Zudem verfügen kriminelle LLM-Angebote über uneingeschränkte Fähigkeiten. Diese Chatbots garantieren Vertraulichkeit und Anonymität und werden speziell mit bösartigen Daten trainiert – vom Quellcode über Methoden und Techniken bis hin zu kriminellen Strategien. Auch alte LLMs, die eigentlich eingestellt wurden, tauchen wieder auf: - WormGPT wurde im August 2023 öffentlich eingestellt. Trotzdem verkaufen Cyberkriminelle derzeit drei Varianten. Dabei sind die Unterschiede zwischen diesen unklar, wie auch die Gewissheit, ob es sich um neue Versionen des alten Projekts handelt oder um eine völlig neue, die den Namen nur aus Gründen der Bekanntheit beibehielt. - DarkBERT ist ein Chatbot, der Teil eines umfangreichen Angebots eines Bedrohungsakteurs mit dem Benutzernamen CanadianKingpin12 ist. Er galt als Scam, da der Chatbot zusammen mit vier anderen kriminellen LLMs mit sehr ähnlichen Fähigkeiten verkauft wurde. Alle vier Dienste wurden einmalig in einem einzigen Posting für eine Woche beworben. Dies sollte jedoch nicht verwechselt werden mit dem legalen Projekt DarkBERT. Dabei handelt es sich um ein LLM, das von einem Cybersicherheitsunternehmen auf Dark-Web-Posts trainiert wurde. Denn während andere, ähnlich aufgebaute Sprachmodelle mit der Vielfalt der Sprache des Dark Web zu kämpfen haben, wurde DarkBERT speziell dafür trainiert, eben diese illegalen Inhalte des Dark Web zu verstehen. Damit unterstützt das LLM die Überwachung oder Interpretation von Dark Web-Inhalten. Interessant ist, dass die aktuellen Versionen von DarkBERT und WormGPT beide als App mit einer Option für ein „Siri Kit“ angeboten werden. So wird angedeutet, es handle sich um eine sprachgesteuerte Variante, die für die Interaktion mit KI-Bots entwickelt wurde. Sollte sich dies tatsächlich bestätigen, überträfen Kriminelle erstmalig Unternehmen an Innovation. Denn die Fähigkeiten dieser Varianten deckten sich dann mit den Ankündigungen für ein iPhone-Update auf der Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024. Weitere kriminelle LLMs wie DarkGemini und TorGPT verwenden Namen, die mit bestehenden Technologien in Verbindung gebracht werden. Ihre Funktionalität unterscheidet sich jedoch nicht allzu sehr vom Rest der kriminellen Angebote, mit Ausnahme ihrer Fähigkeit Bilder zu verarbeiten. TorGPT zum Beispiel wirbt, neben dem regulären LLM-Dienst, auch mit einem Service zur Bildgenerierung. Nicht nur Promis als Ziel von Deepfakes Die Suche nach einer effizienteren Automatisierung zur Erstellung glaubwürdiger Deepfakes und Videos weitet sich rapide aus. Solche Technologien sind zwar nicht neu, aber nun für jeden Kriminellen, auch ohne fundierte technische Kenntnisse, immer leichter zugänglich. So wurde im Februar 2024 ein Finanzangestellter aufgrund einer simulierten Onlinekonferenz, die durch KI-Deepfake-Technologie glaubhaft gemacht wurde, dazu gebracht, 25 Millionen Dollar an die Betrüger zu schicken. I had one, but I can’t find it so I’ll just start a sorta. Starter pack/master post for all of my main Mandela Catalogue aus, and will be updating this post with any new ones I make.

This is gonna be long, so. Bear with me.

The Alternate AU

The alt au is, in its simplest terms, a swap au, basically swapping the alternate characters and the human characters. (Making the humans alternates and vice versa.)

The main plot is thus: Mark Heathcliff after the events of TMC Vol 1, comes back from the dead, furious at Cesar for leaving him to die and “causing” his death. Cesar has an encounter with Alt Mark, fleeing Mandela and living in Bythorne, joining the BPS eight years after that incident, meeting Sarah Heathcliff, and Seth Greer. (the leader of the bps and this aus version of six. Though he. May as well be an oc knowing how different they are.)

The Mandela Prophet AU

This au, which is smaller in scale to the one above, is centered on Adam Murray, and takes place directly after the events of vol 2.

After being left behind by Jonah, Adam is approached by alternate Gabriel, and is given an offer that he’ll get all the knowledge he wants, as long as he follows Gabriel. Adam in his desperate want for the truth, accepts Gabriel’s offer, but is betrayed when they instead inflict him with a supernatural alternate parasite, that takes over his body and gives victims M. A. D.

LabRats AU

The basic premise of this au is thus:

The characters of TMC are put through experiments in a scientific facility (Mandela BioTech), which is owned by Gabriel, a scientist obsessed with "perfection" and Dave Lee, a man that's reluctant, but willingly ignorant to the horrid acts happening under his watch. The main characters are mutated, given sometimes supernatural abilities. More info is in the #tmc Labrats au tag, so I recommend you start there, as this explanation is. pretty short.

oh boy if you don't know anything about blaseball this is gonna be a nightmare of an explanation because i do NOT have the space on this post to explain the plot of blaseball, however, i can grab a short powerpoint about the broad strokes if you're curious.

if you AREN'T familiar with blaseball the Absolute Basics you need to know to make this even a little bit legible are: blaseball (2020-2023) was a baseball simulator that was also a horror game about killing gods, dying in a fire, community, and the failures of capitalism. it was beautiful and i miss her everyday.

Xornoth: Xornoth Riven is a pitcher for the Yellowstone Magic, then Bullshit Happens that eventually results in him playing for the Hall Stars and being released

Hermes: Hermes Hermès (tentative name) is a batter for the Miami Dale

Eddie: Eddie Sausage is a batter for the Dallas SteaksMaria: Maria Sausage is a pitcher for the Tokyo Lift

now for the plot

Most of this AU is just “I have placed the Empires characters in the plot of Blaseball”, but some of it is making Empires characters into pre-existing Blaseball characters.

Those being: Sausage, False, Pearl, Xornoth, S2 Shubble, and S2 Pix.

Xornoth is this world’s Jaylen. He and Scott are sibling pitchers on different teams with a friendly rivalry- Scott is good, but not on the same level as Xornoth. Xornoth is killed with the opening of the Forbidden Book, and Scott receives the Max Out Pitcher blessing, and takes Xornoth’s place as the best pitcher in the league. The Garages manage to keep him because I don’t want to put him anywhere else, though. 

When the Forbidden Book opens, we have a similar but slightly Off election shenanigan as the one that actually happened in season 1. Rather than the election running three times, the timeline splitting into thirds, and certain parts of the other timelines, like Derrick Kreuger being Jaylen’s replacement, making their way over here, three universes who opened the Forbidden Book at once smash into each other, and things get scrambled. The three universes contain the Hermits, the Life Series players, and the Empires players. When this smoosh happens, the player who was meant to replace Xornoth is thrown into Hermitcraft, and False is thrown into the Empires universe, coming out very scrambled. This is how she ends up with the Mild curse without having played the Pods. Side effect of universe hopping.

Xornoth is necromancied (yes, by the Magic. Don’t worry about it.) in season 6, and returns with Debt. He kills the same players Jaylen did, and also Pearl, who is our Sebastian Telephone stand-in.

Pearl played for the Boston Flowers until her death, and we’re ignoring that time Seb got alternated for this. Sausage is our Jessica Telephone, starting his career on the Dallas Steaks (alongside Eddie). He has his heel arc there, and he’s one of the first players to be Shelled. Scott and Joey are also Shelled at some point.

After Xornoth’s resurrection, his rivalry with Scott becomes a lot less friendly because Xornoth kills people now. At some point in season 9, Pixl Rifts, a batter for the Crabs, dies. This is a surprise tool that will help up later.

During season 9, Lizzie is alternated and turns into a cat girl. Sorry Joel, no matter how much you attempt to dodge the plot, it will hit you somehow. Your wife is a cat now.

Later is now! The Microphone- who is still Wyatt Mason, dw about it- pulls the repeat history thing, and swaps Xornoth into the Hall with Pix. Yup, he’s our Tillman for this AU. Don’t worry he doesn’t suck. I just thought this worked well and also would be really funny if Oli wrote shutout about him.

Xornoth and Pearl both play for the Hall Stars, alongside the rest of them, and Scott, Sausage, and Joey play for the Shelled One’s Pods, also alongside the others. Scott and Xornoth are the two pitchers swapping throughout the game, and Pearl dies again, and then god is dead yay! When it’s over, the Hall Stars are released, including Scott, Xornoth, and Pearl, because the Monitor lets everyone who played for the team go.

Sausage falls to the Boston Flowers while Joey falls back to the Wild Wings. Sausage then has a character arc that turns him design and personality wise into his season 2 counterpart.

The Expansion teams bring in a few of our s2 characters, but if a s2 character doesn’t play for an expansion team just assume they’ve been here the whole time. Blaseball has a ton of characters with the same name anyways.

During season 11, Jimmy is alternated as well and becomes his s2 counterpart. Sorry Joel, the plot has hit you again, your brother-in-law is a cop now. He then gets feedbacked or otherwise traded to the Hellmouth Sunbeams, where his aesthetic is more thematically appropriate.

The only important plot things for the Expansion Era are:

God Joel gets Ego and is taken into the Vault, because of course he does. 

Shelby Moore, who died back during season 3, gets resurrected onto the Spies and gets to go through Chorby Soul chomp hell. However, her debt isn’t rerolled into unstable because I don’t want it to be, so she lives, and eventually stops having so much soul due to getting munched, and gets to be happy.

Joel Beans dies when the Fridays are incinerated in season 24. Don’t worry he gets better.

Pixl Rifts survives the Expansion Era unlike Tillman (and probably doesn't become Vaulted? Unsure) because I think it's more fun this way.

Pixl Riffs (s1 Pix) dies at some point but he has roaming, so it’s fine, he just says “If it sucks, hit da bricks” and walks out of the Hall, Pudge Nakamoto style.

False is traded to the Mechanics after gate crash because it’s just wildly more in line with her aesthetic than the Magic.
