i think phandom suspiciously easily forgets that dan phantom is not only danny's future, but vlad's, too. i also think that we all should torture vlad about it, at least a little (a lot)

Thoughts on the new Monster Hunter trailer?

Equal parts thrilled and apprehensive!

I've always preferred a more cartoony and colorful MH that doesn't take itself too seriously. World wasn't my cup of tea for various reasons, such as the emphasis on realism, too much time sucked away by a disinteresting plot, and the disgustingly visceral sound design.

Wilds is very obviously World-like. As soon as I learned it's FULLY voice acted, I groaned in agony not gonna lie. I'll be perfectly fine with it being plot heavy as long as they make cutscenes skippable. Not sure yet how I feel about having a handler again. Would like to see Sunbreak's followers system return, but I'm not confident.

New locale looks beautiful!! Mohran hype maybe??? The new large monsters are curious. Amphibian monster! Zamtrios?? Please please please zamtrios please pleeease please. Great Sword moveset is funky. I like the gap-closing counter attack, but I also kind of miss the goofy simplicity of the old school hit-and-run playstyle.

Seikret is precious. I hope we get to customize their colors and deck them out in cute cringey outfits. Very surprised that you can sharpen/drink potions etc. while riding them, that was the thing about Rise's palamutes that I felt needed to be nerfed. I DO like that Seikret can carry one other weapon for you to switch out between. Hopefully that means you can't freely change equipment at the main camp like in Rise. I like having to prepare more carefully for hunts!

#could it be #baby don't hurt me #“i'm not your mary” oo i got chills #the most encouraging thing was seeing all the new areas that nailed one of my favourite (and most underrated) parts of the original trilogy #which is the very lovingly rendered individual rooms and places with so many bespoke details and bits and bops to peruse #if they can only avoid what happened with homecoming #who actually got the “gorgeous atmospheric environments” part down pretty well but #the event director had for some reason tragically fallen completely asleep and said environments just never gave you any reason to fear #that anything unexpected might ever happen #so they just chucked a monster at you every now and then to (try to) create tension instead #it was very boring #my other fear is one i've had from the very beginning but #as i said earlier i think the original is an unusually emotionally intelligent game (regarding Angela especially)#and i have never played a booby team game but #from assorted coverage i've kind of gathered that “tactful depictions of mental health” hasn't been something they particularly excel at #but if they're just sticking to the script of the original i guess it'll be just fine #i hope #(and don't play up the “abstract daddy” bit too much because that might just be the only part)#(where the original started to skirt the line of taste just a bit hn)

oh, nonnie. oh. (i definitely have. in tags and posts for a few months now haha)

but you know when fics get so big behind the scenes and suddenly you're scared to post it? like, you've got several full chapters written, an entire world and magic system built, and an entirely fleshed out OC, but like... the thought of sharing it with the world is just? scary? yeah. that's where i am.

knight!eddie also doesn't leave my head. i just don't want to post this monster of a fic that honestly reads more like a fantasy novel because i don't know if y'all would like it haha. it's very intense and genuinely doesn't read like just a fic. it reads like a book. it is a book at this point. if y'all really are interested, i could always post snippets and such. it's not a matter of characterization and stuff, but... i just put a lot of work into it and it's my baby lol

thinking about frankenstein's monster again, not anything in particular just kinda brain rotating him like he's the well liked side character of a bad shonen anime

#i'm always thinking about jekyll and hyde though i've been obsessed with those guys since i was way younger #but mister frankenstein's monster has wormed his way into my heart #i'm much too sleepy right now to finish it but when i wake up i hope to continue a video i was watching about the original novel #the concept of frankenstein's monster itself just astounds me it's so great #just everything about it #it feels like a commentary of sorts and maybe it is maybe it isn't #i thought to be thy adam but i am rather the fallen angel #victor is his creator and while not necessarily his god the monster is HIS adam #while the monster had to learn the customs of man he did not truly have to learn how to be man itself #he was created with emotion and the abilities man posses #all he ever wanted was to live and as a creature born with the passion to live amongst men as much as any other man he couldn’t #a hell within itself #and a hell that he did not deserve #a tragedy he could not help and a series of tragedies that overcame him #to not be able to be loved by man and yet be surrounded by him is a worse fate than death #he surely would have rather never lived at all #or maybe been invisible to man entirely #i have love in me the likes of which you can scarcely imagine and rage the likes of which you would not believe #if i cannot satisfy the one i will indulge the other #he is a creature of emotion cursed to a life of blind rage #in any other world would he have met a different fate? not at all #man cannot change and he cannot change how he first perceived man and how he was perceived by him #maybe im crazy though #i am crazy im a crazy person!!!#nimposting

do adoptable character designs actually sell?

#ive always seen them but ive never understood why ppl sell them #i could see how maybe it would be good for DMs to buy some pre-made character designs for important characters #or a dnd player who's not interested in designing the character and just wants to play #but i dont think ibe ever seen dnd related adoptables except the 1 i saw just now #or like i understand monster species adoptables where you're buying the rights to and all the information about a creature #to use for a story or a campaign #but again most of what I've seen is character deisgns #and like half are furries #i guess ive never understood why you wouldn't want to take part in the joy and fun and the challenge of creating a character yourself #if they do make money i should make one #but im just not confident it would sell #i haven't even sold a single poster since i reopened my inprnt 2 months ago
